Here we go!

Rules are simple:

We are running this contest through November 2nd. We are posting our starting weight, and our Halloween goal.

For those of us that meet our goal, we are buying ourselves something nice. For those of us that don't meet the goal, they get a big Wedgie.

There will be once weekly weigh-ins. I will not be keeping a spread-sheet or anything...this is all up to you to post your progress.

I'll start!

My starting weight for this challenge is 229.

My goal is 219 for a total loss of 10 pounds in 6 weeks. Very do-able.

My weigh in days will be on Tuesdays, as usual. I also promise to do NO scale hopping!!

I think that is all we need. Who's next?

Starting challenge at 179 (last week) and want to be down 10 by November 2nd. I'm not weighting this week cause Auntie Flow is here and don't want to be depressed.

My reward will be a new pair of jeans in a smaller size. WooHoo.

See how easy and painless that was. And I love the freedom of weighing when we want and posting when we like. If you don't want to post weekly updates at all until the end...that would be cool too. Kind of like having a baby and not knowing whether it is a boy or a girl until the end. LOL....

Cause, what happens if I meet my goal before November 2? YIKES, wouldn't that be sweet.

Okay.......:s:

Starting weight 277. Mini Goal 261. total of 15 pounds to lose. Stood on the scale this am (Yeah, yeah...I'm a scale hopper) and it said 273.5. But seeing as how today isn't my weigh in day, I'm going by what the scale said on the 7th.

My weigh in day is on Saturdays.

Not sure what my prize to myself will be. I'll probably head over to Lane Byrant's in the next few weeks and pick up some smaller clothes and keep my fingers crossed that I can get my fat arse into them :dizzy: .

for a total loss of 13 pounds!
I'm gonna have to bust :censored: to reach this goal, but I want it REALLY, REALLY BAD!

I am still very new to all of this, but all the support I have read on 3fc has been remarkable, I only wish I found this site long ago, well I am going to make a halloween goal of a 15lb lose, that be a little high, but I am going to give it a shot. I have been on ww for 1.5 weeks and at my first weight in I was down 3lbs. I look forward to the challange ahead together!!

My starting weight is 195 and my goal is 185. 10 lbs in 6? weeks. Unless I counted wrong looks to me like it's 8. I will weigh-in on Saturdays. Not sure what I want my reward to be yet.

Oh congrats Dyan!!! That is GREAT!!! I have weigh in on Monday night, which worries me after eating all day, I always feel heavier at night. Oh well. I have been EXCELLENT all week except last night when I had Chinese food, and I couldn't really count it, but today was SUPER LOW on calories, because honestly, I was still full from last night!! So, maybe 6 EXCELLENT days and 1 so-so day will still produce a loss!!

Anyway, congrats!!!

I meanwhile have fallen and I can't get up. :( Had a "lost weekend". Yes, it is possible to gain like 7 lbs. overnight. If I was counting our 3-points, I'd be in the negative numbers. :rolleyes:

Ah, but today's a new day!!!

Reward? Hm, maybe tickets to Las Vegas??? Now that's something to fight for!! :D

Like Tiff said, there is no such thing as wimpy. Some people are happy if they lose 2 pounds total, so any loss is a loss! It's all about trying our best and losing weight.

No loss for me this week. I didn't expect it. Wasn't trying hard enough. Didn't even get my water in last week, and that's usually the easy part for me. I guess I was on a break. :shrug:

P.S. Made my reservations (plane and hotel) for Las Vegas trip at Christmas which was to be my reward for losing 10 lbs. by Halloween. So now I HAVE TO do it!!! :D

Thanks Aphil! Actually, yesterday I was back OP and got in my exercise and I am more focused this week than I have ever been. I have been doing this since May and this was my first bad week. I have had some bad days, but this sucked. LOL, so I saw what can happen if I slip, and I don't like the way that felt!

So, I'm back in full force and ready to kick some butt!

I know how you feel Tif, I always feel really bad and tired if I slack and skip workouts and eat badly for a couple days...I don't like that feeling either!
We have been having gorgeous sunny weather in the high 60's to low 70's...wonderful walking weather-I plan on taling advantage of it!
You can do it! While I am still with the Doin' it the Old Fashioned Way thread...I think I may have to join in this challenge-since I am joining in a bit late with only about 4 weeks left until Halloween, my goal will be a bit smaller...I am at 200 now, so my goal by Halloween will be 195, or 5 pounds.

I'm tired, walked and lifted weights today; and afraid to get on the scale because even though my foods been in the range (1600-1900) for an odd reason I went up 1.5 this weekend. So I am not going to weight myself until the end of the week. I don't want to get discouraged now, but I feel that old devil sneaking up on me so I have to be one step ahead of him.

Tig & DNW,

I think one of the hardest things we do is post a gain. I hate doing it, but it really does help us, try to get focused. That's after we get mad at ourselves first, and want to kick ourselves. So Tig, I commend you on taking that step. I've done and will continue to do it even thought I don't like it. :jig:

I think everyone is doing an awesome job, and we should all try to keep it up. The whole purpose of this challenge, is to challenge ourselves, to push ourselves, to get focused and I think we're doing it!

Hi Guys:

And welcome little bit...why your practically around the corner from me in NJ..my sister got married at Giando's restaruant by the bridge...know the place, it's by the old Navy yard? Hope you meet your challenge this is a really nice group of women!

As for me...I'm exhausted and my food has been showing it, although I am only over my max calories by maybe 110-220 carolies the past couple of days, I have not been planning meals, and it's showing up in the scale with no losses.

I am holding firm at 263, which is only 5.8 lost for the month, oh well better than nothing but I really have to watch the carbs been getting sloppy lately.

Well my dear Scarlett's...tomorrow is another day.

Going to Fort Wayne today to see my new niece and my sister who is probably already back to pre pregnancy weight 3 days after birth. That ought to give me motivation for the rest of the day!

Hi....

I finally got done to 262 with an overall loss of 6.8 for the month. I am glad of the loss but i can do better. I have been fooling around with food the last two days but waht's new is i am beign honest about it and putting it in my fitday.com database no matter what I eat.

I still have 7-8 to lose before the end of the month and I don't think I am going to make it at this rate. Gotta try harder..............

If I go by what I saw on the scale today, I doubt I'll make my mini-goal :mad: . Saturday is "official" weigh in for me so I'll TRY to keep positive, but am finding it very hard to do. On the 5th I was at 266.5. TOM started on the 10th and when I weighed in that Saturday I was up to 271.5, which brought me up 5 pounds! I am a bona-fide scale hopper and weigh myself daily. Well on Sunday or Monday it was up to 274.5 :( . Today it was back down to 268.5 and in order to hit goal I need it to say 264.5 by Satuday (2 days), NOT gonna happen, unless I am still retaining water. Which is likely since TOM is STILL here. I have a 7 day cycle :mad: . So basically I need to lose 7.5 pounds in 2weeks and 2 days. Come on now......I am trying to be positive and will keep my fingers crossed that I still have some water floating around, but it's unlikely.....:( I am sad and seem to be real close to Funkytown. I see the sign ahead and am looking for the next exit....

Well I only lost 8.9 out of the 13 lbs. that I originally wanted to lose, but I am thrilled with the loss anyway....for years I have been saying I couldn't lose weight because of age, menopause, and various other excuses....well I was wronbg and glad of it.

Ready for the November challenge when you all are! THanks for being there and all your encouragement.

Um, I ended up 3 pounds heavier than where I started. That really bites.

My fault. I let this new job stress affect me. You know, I think if I would have really focused on myself and this challenge...I would have alleviated some of the stress that I was dealing with. I felt like I had no control at all over my life. And HAD I done this challenge, I would have at least had SOME control over SOMETHING.

You live and you learn. How about a new mini-goal? Thanksgiving here we come. I'll talk about it in our regular forum and then start a thread.

Didn't make it :mad: , I was so close........but ended up gaining something like 5 pounds, so I was about 8 or 9 pounds from goal. But still a loss is a loss, and I think I lost 8 pounds total, for the duration of the challenge!
