Default 30 day shred - OUCH

So I started the 30 day shred on Friday. I did it and I didnt feel to sore and I was able to keep up pretty good with level 1. Day 2, seemed a little harder but I think i was just more into it. Yesterday I woke up, stepped out of bed and almost died. haha my legs and butt are KILLING me! I felt like I was 90 years old trying to sit down! So I decided to skip yesterday but Im still a little sore today but I feel like I can push through it. But my question is should I also continue going to the gym while doing the video? I dont feel like Im getting enough cardio to burn off the fat. Any suggestions?

I would still go to the gym.
I personally did not feel like a 20 min workout was enough for me so I do the 30 Day Shred in the morning and in the evenings I go to the gym and do a little resistance training and 30 min on the elliptical. I hope this helps!

Congratulation on your weight loss! and keep up the good work!

See thats how I feel. It doesnt seem like enough. I think Ill stick with hitting the gym 3 days and continue the video each night. I dont wanna waste a whole month of exercise I should have done.

My normal routine is 45-60 minutes of elliptical, which I try to do 3-4 times a week, but if I'm really busy I alternate with Jillian, because it's faster than going out to the gym. The elliptical uses different muscles (I'm much weaker in the upper body than the lower) so it's fine when I'm sore from the video. When I do Jillian I do some extra sets of the cardio stuff to make it at least 30 minutes of increased heart rate.

Also if you stop doing one exercise routine for a while, you lose the muscles for that, and you can lose cardio endurance too. I notice that on the elliptical even if I'm away for it for just a week. (Although I like to set it really high so it's as much a leg resistance exercise as a cardio for me, which it maybe is not how you are supposed to do it. Nobody ever explained it to me.)

I've been really busy this week so I've been doing the video several days in a row. I'm waiting for the day I actually fall on my face during a pushup. It may happen today.

Yes, I did hurt after the first day, so I took a break of a day or two. I exercised gently and still tried to take stairs (even if it hurt) to stretch things out. But now it's much better.

I would also continue to go to the gym.

I'm on my second round of 30DS and I know how you feel!

For a while there I was ONLY doing 30DS, and doing it everyday! But you get strong pretty fast and I ended up adding my pilate videos to my workouts as well as walks. This time around I'm giving myself much needed Sundays as rest days...lol that videos still gets me.
