Roasted tamari almonds have lived quietly in my pantry for a year. Yesterday, they called my name; I called back, "Oh, Well," went my way, then Tweeted about it.

:cp::cp: Yes!

I don't tweet - but, a really good move - walking away from the almonds. (tree nuts, ya know)

Left a meeting in a post-meeting mood; decided that justified using the elevator rather than the planned walk down 8 flights. Then decided that "post-meeting mood" was a Sabotaging Thought and walked down happily.

Oh, I get it now. We're becktweeting, not twittertweeting. (Head against wall.) Sorry, just a bit slow on the uptake ...

I realized about two o'clock in the afternoon that I was hungry. Not really, I thought. OK, I was bored because I didn't want to do the work in front of me. <sigh> ... so I just did it and the hunger went away.

....it's Sunday and I'm tired. I read my response cards #9 distraction techniques....added "NAP". Recognized I'm tired not hungry.

Haven't eaten much as I've been working in the garden all day. Refound that slightly empty, hungry feeling which can herald Success, Achievement!

About to eat spinach salad with mandarins, a few almonds and low fat balasamic dressing and a tomato and cuke sandwich on whole wheat. YUM.

All the way to the hardware store I thought about their FREE popcorn but decided I'd give it the old NO CHOICE. So I did. No off-plan popcorn coated with whatever. Score one for the resistance muscle which is in need of some reinforcement lately.

If I'm not sure whether I'm cold, I very probably am. I should change into warmer clothes and light the fire. These warm me better than eating unplanned food.

"Ne'er cast a cloot till May is oot." Loose translation: "Don't start stripping off till the end of May. In particular, keep your vest [singlet, top undergarment] on."

Feels great to eat on plan and not feel hungry at day's end. Exercise takes away hunger, I've found.

FREE ice cream was being handed out for two hours around lunch time today. It wasn't about me - so I went about my life.

I woke up from my Sunday afternoon nap still feeling a tad bit depleted. My first thought; take your vitamins and make a green smoothie. What??? My first thought isn't for bad carbs??? Ahh, Cognitive Therapy at work...my brain is being retrained. Perhaps I can learn to think like a thin person.

stolen from facebook:

Reality Check: Do you ever have the thought,“Just this one time won’t matter"?
Remind yourself that regardless of the situation, every time DOES matter. Every SINGLE time you withstand a craving, resist emotional eating, and say no to unplanned food, you increase the chances you will the next time. Each time you give in, you make it more likely you'll give in the next time, too.

Sabotaging thought: I am tense and very tired. Something sweet would help me get through it.

Response: Yes, I am tense and very tired. Focusing intently on the body would be a better thing to do. Any kind of relaxing is better than something sweet. Go to the loo. Warm drink, warm bath/shower. Gentle walking outside.
