Thumbs up Small victories leading to BIG ones!

Hello everyone!

I'm just so darn excited that I need to share my "mini victory" with everyone! I've lost 25 lbs. and am working towards having lost 30 by May 1st. Today a big obstacle was thrown at me: FREE COMPANY LUNCH!

These lunches are catered and always offer the most fattening, high calorie comfort foods you could imagine. PLUS desserts!! In the past I'd pile my plate as high as I could muster and THEN go back for a pile of cookies and brownies (because it's free, right?) Pretty much all of my co-workers have the same mentality: free food= eat as much as you can.

However, I WON the battle today. I filled most of my plate with salad, dripping just a few tiny dabs of the ceasar dressing on top. Then I got a single spoonful of pasta salad, followed by the roast chicken WITHOUT the gravy with which everyone else was covering their whole plate. Finally, I bypassed the bread and the dessert trays and added a few pieces of fresh fruit.

I'm so proud of myself that I could scream! But I won't, instead I'll just add a whole bunch of these silly, little, dancing carrots.

Thanks for reading - I just needed to share my joy!

Wow -- good for you. I think free food plus everybody else eating and eating is one of the hardest things to not give in to. Congratulations!
