Good Morning:sunny:

It's an early one here! Coffee is flowing freely and hot water steaming away. It's Hump Day already...a quick moving week as far as I can tell. Stop by and chat a bit...:cofdate:

What's up in my world? Work is early; I have a lease agreement to prepare then we're off to the Museum of Natural Science...meeting the girls...I'm hoping for a bike ride while DH and DD's visit, we'll see how if the weather cooperates. If I'm able to get back and do a major packing job I may be able to get over the hill early tomorrow and hit the pool for water aerobics....we'll see.

Wishing everyone a Warmhearted and OP day!

Heidi  I hope you got some rest last night.

Good morning

Sounds like you've got a busy day planned Debbie! I hope you'll be able to get your bike ride in. I slept much better last night, thank you.

Busy day for me today too, I've got meetings before and after school and then youth group tonight. I don't think I'll be able to fit a walk in today, but I'm going to try.

My forsythia is starting to bloom! I'm happy to see it but I'm very surprised, I am sure this is the earliest they've ever bloomed. To me they're a sure sign of spring. :)

Enjoy your Wednesday friends!

Good morning. I made it in here today. Thanks for the coffee, Debbie. I hope your Hump Day goes as planned.

It's a rainy morning. I knew that before I was fully awake by the aches in my body. :( I'm off to the gym this morning and that should work things out. There will be no outside work today or the rest of the week as we are in for a rainy spell. I might get caught up in the house for a change.

I need to wander around the Forum for a while. See y'all later.

Heidi, just checked my garden logs and this IS the earliest for my forsythia too. It did nothing at all last year and I was about to cur it down but it came through. Our season is three weeks ahead around here. The Ottawa Tulip Festival is even planning to move events earlier. It's usually mid-MAy but the tulips may be done by then.

Good morning, Ruthie, and all yet to join us. :)

I'm off to the farm right now, as Cindy is having knee surgery this morning and has to be at the hospital by 7am. I'll try to check in from her house later.

Have a warm, wonderful Wednesday!

Good morning Early Risers :coffee2:

Debbie - Thanks for the coffee :) Sounds like a fun day. Hope you get on your bike and can get on the road early tomorrow. That reminds me - need to get my bike tuned up.

Heidi - Good morning! The forsythia are going crazy around here. My bloodroot and pulmonaria are up too. I  spring. Hope you can fit a few minutes of outside time in :)

Ruth - I wonder if the three weeks will hold all season? Should make things interesting

Cottage - What a way for Cindy to get back into the routine. Hope all goes smoothly.

Another day, another meeting - it's just one of those weeks. The meeting is just a few miles from my house so I'm taking advantage of that and planning a WFH afternoon. I'm definitely going to get a walk or two in.

The week does seem to be buzzing by. Maybe the weekend forecast will improve a little in the meantime :) Hope your hump day is productive and unsurprising

Hi all!

Debbie - are things going better with DD (I assume that is your stepdaughter?)
Heidi, forsythia is a HUGE allergy trigger for me. Of course they were blooming like mad up near my parent's place, and even here in Brooklyn.
Ruth, I like your new picture.
Cottage and Cyndi - hope you both have a great, albeit busy, day.

I'm running all around at work today and it is my son's first day back at school after what seems like an extremely long break. We all need to get back in our routine! I've been on plan for two days and it feels great.

Mmc, I've got my Zyrtec, benadryl and kleenex close at hand, too. I wish I could find an Rx that REALLY does everything it promises to. But even with my sneezing, runny nose and itchy eyes I do love spring!

Wow! Everyone snuck in while I was being "productive".

Heidi, glad to hear your night was better. Take care on this busy day! Congrats! on your 6 mo SBD BD!

Ruth, good to see you...I missed you yesterday. All this rain is really going to speed things up. I think it's fun to think about getting caught up, but it never happens!

Linda, what a way to return from a vacation! It sounds like you're going to be busy.

Cyndi, we watched a show on the History channel last night and I thought of you. It was about how the States got their shapes and had a pretty extensive section on Vermont and the town that's split by the Canada/US border. I learned alot. Glad to hear you think the week is buzzing by. haha Have a great walk(s)

Mmc, keep repeating "routine routine"....great job getting back OP. DD1 is flying out today...DD2 . We seem to have detached with love...thanks for asking.

I'm back, and checking in from the farm while the girls are still asleep. :)

Debbie and Heidi, I'm sorry for not acknowledging you earlier, I was in a rush and didn't even see your posts. :o Forgive me? :^:

I had a very warm and wonderful reunion with my girls and Cindy & Richard yesterday. I ended up going over before the girls left for school, and then I drove them to school so we could have more time together. My dear little Maggie told me she cried for me while they were away, and she and Audrey couldn't stop hugging me, so I know I was missed. :) They were able to make it through the entire day at school, and we even went on a trail ride after school, but Cindy told me this morning both girls had fretful nights and to just let them sleep in today and take them to school later. I guess jet-lag is finally catching up with them.
Cindy is having outpatient surgery on her knee this morning to repair torn cartiledge (sp?), so it's nothing really serious. The hard part will be trying to keep her from overdoing it for the next week or so! She never sits still for long, LOL!

Spring is bursting out all over around here, and we're supposed to reach 90* today and tomorrow. :dizzy:

Heidi, I'm keeping you and your family in my prayers.

Good morning everyone! Today is going to be busy but fun....My mom and I are taking my sister for pedicures this morning to celebrate her birthday. Then I have tons of laundry waiting for me! Our spring break is winding down....then it's back to work/school next week. I look forward to a normal schedule, though. I've been on Phase 1 for the last two days and I'm feeling much better...I think I will stick to Phase 1 for the rest of the week!

Debbie- thanks for the warm start to this Wednesday!

Heidi, Ruth- Don't you just love spring! (minus the pollen)

Mmc- Good job staying on plan...I like a schedule too!

Cyndi and Cottage...Happy Hump day!

I have to brag a little :) Never, ever doubt the power of the whoosh. After 2 months of stuck scale I've dropped almost 5 lbs in one week :carrot: It's so nice to see the numbers going down instead of up!

Wow - busy morning here already!

Debbie - Have a safe drive. How long is it?

Heidi - My spring allergies are mild but my fall ones are horrible! You and your dad and family are in my thoughts.

Ruth - I don't know flowers but have notices great scents in the air when out walking. And pretty blooms on trees. I need a more spring-like avatar!

Linda - How sweet that you are so loved:) I hope Cindy's surgery goes smoothly and she recovers fast.

Mmc and Lisa - Good job! I was reminded the other day, after my overeating, how much better I feel when I am OP.

Cyndi - Woo hoo for the whoosh:cp:

I have been busy with nothing here. How does that happen? But busy is good because it means less snacking and thinking about food. I am going shopping at the mall to day and going to enjoy buying smaller clothes for my upcoming trip. Of course Murphy's law always reins in my life and if I am willing and ready to spend money on clothes, I won't find anything I like.

Morning everyone,

My car was covered in pollen this morning, so I guess things really are in bloom! It's supposed to rain and get cold here again, so maybe some folks will have a reprieve from the sneezing for a while...

Wow! You all are up bright and early this morning!

I'm getting ready to head out on the road for a delivery. It's beautiful here today. We're actually going to hit the 80s. My kind of weather!

I had a pleasant surprise this morning. I got my capris out to wear and they actually fit! I've gained just enough weight since last fall that I didn't think they would, but they did!

Shopping day sounds like fun, Karen! Especially when it's for smaller clothes!

Congrats on the 5 pound loss, Cyndi! Awesome!

Hello to everyone else. I'm headed out into the sunshine.

Good morning everyone! Looks like I'm always one of the last ones to get up and get online. My DS's preschool doesn't start until 10:00 so we're not early risers around here (except for my DH, who goes to the gym at 5:00).

Cyndi, Congrats on the loss! 5 lbs at once, wow!

Debbie, The museum sounds so fun. Hope you get in your bike ride too.

Heidi, I love seeing everything bloom this time of year, forsythias are so beautiful.

Ruth, I hope the gym worked out your soreness.

cottage, I hope all goes well w/cindy's surgery.

Mmc, Good luck getting back into your routine, it's always an adjustment. My DS just went back Monday after spring break and that first day was a bit rough for him.

waisting, Shopping for smaller clothes is the best! Have fun.

jennyplain, The pollen is crazy here too, I don't have allergies but my DH is feeling it big time.

tammie, Giggly kids are hilarious! How old is your DD?

Geo, I love the warm weather too! We actually turned on our AC yesterday because it hit 95˚ outside!

I'm having a challenging week so far with trying to figure out how to implement Phase 2 without going crazy with cravings. Thank goodness I can come on here and get help!!

Have a great day everyone.

I hate the summer! I hate the heat and humidity! Why oh why is it going to be 90 here today? Why did I have the heat on last week and the a/c on this?

I'm melting....melting...mel....................

Hello everyone!

Broke out my summer dress today-- it's supposed to be 87 here! So excited! Sorry that you're melting, Jenn. :(

I went to visit my pre-major advisor today and she's trying to convince me to double major in German and something else. She reasons that since I'm planning on going abroad in Hamburg that I'll just end up with the major anyway. I'm ambivalent about it.

Oh wednesdays-- why are you always so hectic?

ChelseaW
04-07-2010, 11:29 AM
Jenn, I like warm weather, but this is TOO warm! 90 in the spring is just wrong! We tried not to turn on our AC yesterday but when it got up to 85 in the living room I gave in.

Good morning, everyone! Just a quick check-in from me. Things are going okay here. I'm slowly transitioning into a pescetarian lifestyle, which is really hard. But, it's a really healthy way to live and I really want to get myself healthy.

Work has been a bit crazy. I've cut out a lot of my internet time, except on breaks, and I'm hoping the example of that is being viewed by the employees and emulated.

DH and I leave a week from tomorrow for our mini-vacation and I can't wait! We really need/want the break. I hope everyone is well!

Cyndi - :broc:

I hate the heat. If I had a pool, it would be another story. Heck if we had a grassy backyard where I could put a sprinkler I'd be a bit happier.

Um, anyone ever hear of only breaking out on your legs and having one itchy palm as symptoms of anything? I haven't been out in the sun, no changes in laundry detergent...I am at a loss.

KatehSparrow
04-07-2010, 12:39 PM
Jenn-- The only thing that I can think of for breaking out on your legs that isnt connected to a change in environment/food is maybe razor burn? I don't know about the ichy palm. Did you touch any plants?

ChelseaW
04-07-2010, 01:38 PM
Jenn, Did you recently use a new product for shaving your legs?

jenne1017
04-07-2010, 03:19 PM
Nope. LOL it started BEFORE I had shaved so not razor burn. Ugh it's sooo anooying! Thanks for trying!

Good afternoon all.

Kate - My DH has a double major in German and Sociology. He started out in Engineering! The Sociology was just because he had almost enough classes and so finished it up. He studied in Germany and later did a business internship there and really loved it. Of course neither major helped him after college and he got an MBA and went into finance.

Jenn, my lower legs, the bottoms of my feet and between my toes, the palms of my hands and my fingers break out in what my clinic calls an allergic dermatitis.

For me it's usually when the pine pollen is out full force but happens at other times too. I used to get an Rx ointment for it but over the counter benadryl works just as well and just as quickly.

If you've got any benadryl on hand you might want to give it a shot. I take the pills AND use the spray when it's bad, but normally I catch it as it starts and the pills alone are enough to stop the outbreak. If I don't start the benadryl quickly enough I get little waterfilled sores, not as painful as blisters but they heal the way blisters do - leaving rough, dry skin. :(

When I used to rush to the clinic they would ALWAYS ask me if I was feeling more stress than usual. I guess that is also a trigger for some people.

Hope you feel better soon.

Jenn, my lower legs, the bottoms of my feet and between my toes, the palms of my hands and my fingers break out in what my clinic calls an allergic dermatitis.

Sounds a lot like my eczema that I've developed since menopause. I get blisters or extremely itchy, reddened skin, mostly on my feet between my toes. My daughter gets eczema on the palms too. I just use topical steroids until it gets really bad. Then it's off to the dermatologist for something stronger.

My forsythia is blooming here too! Tulips are way up. We have Tulip Time here in Pella in early May, so hopefully the early season won't mess that up too much. It's a huge extravaganza and the locals have been known to replant other flowers hastily immediately prior to it when the weather has not cooperated.

I have been working 12 hours for 2 of my four shifts per week. Start at 7am, get off at 7:30pm. It's quite draining. I just get home and it's hard to decompress, get ready for bed, and start the whole process again at 5am in the morning. I liked my part-time status and occasional days off before. :(

DH has had no luck in the job hunting process. Still sending out resumes, but no call backs yet. Keep us in your prayers. It's already been 5 weeks now.

My son is graduating from college in about 6 weeks. He has a summer job lined up, but I don't know what he'll be doing after that. Have to plan a big party for him. He has Asperger's syndrome and I'm so proud of him for graduating from a large university and doing it in 4 years. I never ever thought he could do it. I am so happy to be done with college tuition too!

We have been having rain here the last 2 days, but Monday was in the mid-80's and yesterday was very humid. I have heard neighbors turning on their AC's but I refuse to do that. I don't like having the threat of tornadoes almost daily this week. Sirens went off yesterday and today! Hope you all have a great rest of the week.

ChelseaW
04-07-2010, 10:53 PM
Hmm, I was thinking it could be a reaction to shaving cream or lotion, because it would make sense that only one of your hands was itchy. LOL The pollen count is sky high, maybe that's it.
