You know how intellectually you are aware that you have lost weight -- You buy smaller sizes, you've lost inches and pounds, but somewhere deep inside it doesn't quite seem real. You think maybe the sizes you're wearing now run big or they're just cut different, etc, etc.

Well, today I dug a shirt out of the back of my closet thinking that although I wore it +57# ago it would not only look better on me but it would fit better too. Well, it just hung on me. No way would/could I wear it now. It looks like a before and after picture, where the clothes are way too big and pulled away from the body to show how much weight was lost.

Wow! I could really see the difference. Wow!

I guess I really am SMALLER!

LOL. Good for you. I've held on to one of my biggest outfits and everytime I think about giving in, giving up, that one piece of cake won't hurt anything, I go put it on, walk around the house and ask, "So, wanna fit this again?". Seems to put it all back in perspective.

The funniest thing is I keep pulling stuff out of my closet that I know is too big for me and keep trying it on thinking well I've lost a few lbs maybe it will fit better now...nope it looks worse!

So I've finally really cleaned out my closet and gotten rid of a whole box of clothes that are too big.

If I want a spirit boost I pull out some old clothes like that. I definitely get used to the current size and start to feel fat in them, even though the first day I got in them I felt small. The longer I'm in a size, the fatter I start to feel And then the mind games start in. I've stretched them out, I just thought I couldn't get into them before, and so on. It's terrible!

But yes, you are smaller! LOL! 57 lbs is A LOT.

I'm having the same mental problem. I'm 3 weeks away from having been at this project one year. I've been getting rid of bigger clothing as I drop sizes BUT only the clothes I've tried on. Some items I were sure wouldn't fit yet, and actually missed opportunity to wear them, but still not quite believing this is all real...

Fifty seven pounds makes a huge difference! Now you will just have to go out and buy some new clothes! :)

I keep thinking, "No way I can wear a 2x, but those 1x tops probably still fit."

NO. NO. NO. NO.

I wear a L. an XL. Maybe some of the 1x for like working outside, or something, but they look like CRAP. Sometimes I even wear an M!!!!

I need to go through my closet BIG TIME and CLEAN HOUSE! BYE BYE fat clothes.

NSV: My daughter bought a pair of size 10 jeans at Kohl's on clearance ($10 plus 30% coupon) "to wear at horse camp" -- today I tried them on. Guess what? They fit, spraypainted on, but not muffin toppy and not UGG tight.

They won't be going to horse camp and will be getting "my" label on them. She won't miss them at horse camp (lol). :)

I stole my baby's pants, Lol. :)

That is so great. I can't wait until I need new clothes, which seems to take forever in the plus sizes!

Yes, yes, yes! I'm nearly 50 pounds down, so it's ridiculous, but I feel the same way. :dizzy:

YES I'm so with you!!! I will pull out my 22's and think "oh good these will fit nice and loose now" and they fall off. So I definitely understand what you mean.

Ditto!!!! Just did that yesterday even tried cinching the top in with a cute wide belt, the shirt was HUGE and it was tight at one time.

I completely understand. I have tried to be really good at getting rid of items that are too big, but every day I look in my closet and see clothes that I attempt to wear and realize Oh, that's way to big and I throw it in a new pile to get rid of. One thing I have noticed is that the sizes have moved a little quicker lately. It seemed to take about 30 pounds to finally move 1 size but only about 18 pounds to move this last one. I am finally in a solid 20, where I can go to the store and pick out a 20 and know it will fit, maybe even a little loose. I can't wait to be out of the 20's, but the 18's are still really tight so it is hard to imagine that in 15-18 pounds they will fit.
