Talking Eureka!!!

Hey Everyone. I'm a new calorie counter, yesturday was my first day, and I've lost weight already. I think I found something that really works for me. What I did was go here:

http://www.cancer.org/docroot/PED/co...Calculator.asp

and put in the weight I want to be, and how many calories would be needed to support it. So I made a speadsheet, and divided the calories up into breakfast, snack, lunch, another snack, and dinner.

600 calories for breakfast
300 for the snack
600 calories for lunch
200 for the snack
350 for dinner

thants 2050 calories for a 130 pound person (one that exercises)
and to maintain 145 I'd need to consume 2350 about.

I'm excited to see were this goes.

Calorie counting is the only way I have ever been able to lose. So I hope that you find it works for you also!

That is a VERY generous calculator. For my weight and height and activity level most of those things tell me I need around 2400 to maintain. This one says 3000! Yeah, well I managed to be around 2400 everyday for a long time, and let me tell you, I was NOT losing anything, and sometimes going up. 3000?! I'd be putting on weight by the minute. So I'm not sure what's up with that. You would think the ACS would be a trustful source. While I hope it works for you, I'd be cautious putting full trust in this if I were you.

Wow, it says I need 2900 calories to maintain. That sounds insanely high, I eat 1300-1600 calories a day on average and lose 2 pounds per week on average.
