Morning Loves!!!!

I slept like crap last night. I woke up at 2 because I had to use the bathroom. Then my cat was driving me bonkers.... and it started storming really bad outside. I couldn't sleep so I started a movie on my computer and looked on facebook on my phone... only to find there were tornado warnings for the next county over and tornado watches for the area so I got freaked out and that made it even harder to sleep. The AC wasn't turned on last night because the parentals thought it was going to be cooler than it was so it was stifling in the house. Which says a lot coming from me because usually they keep it like a meat locker. WHEW. Glad last night is over!!!!

Luckily Mondays aren't so hard to deal with when it's the only day you have to work for the week. ;)

I'm back up to 190.5 (dang I knew it was too good to be true yesterday) but I am DETERMINED to get into the 180s this week!!!!

I don't think I'll be going to the gym tonight unless the weather clears up. I HATE HATE HATE driving in the rain, but I will be doing C25K at home and the resistance bands.

So to those of you that do strength workouts -- what can I do for my arms and thighs? I already knew I had flabby arms but those pictures yesterday showed how bad my "bat wings" are. I took measurements (NSV) and I have lost inches - 3 from my bust, 2.4 under bust, a few from my hips and waist. But I've only lost .5-1'' from my arms and thighs. So anything you can throw out there for me would be appreciated.

I hope you all have a WONDERFUL, OP Monday!!!! :)

Feral - It's storming pretty bad here, too :C But the rain is only supposed to hang around until Wednesday. And on Friday it's going to be 77 and sunny! Planks are a great strength exercise that work your entire body. I do 5 sets of 30 second planks. I'm trying to work on toning as I go these last 30ish pounds because after 65lbs I've only lost an inch from my arms!

I have SO much to do this week, omg. Today Roy and Scott are coming over to help me test run the cake for my party on Friday and I think I need to go food shopping today because I won't have much time for it any other day. I also have classwork to do and I have to pack for my overnight trip to NYC on Wednesday (and figure out what I'm wearing!!!). Thursday night I'm decorating for the party, and then Friday I'll be cooking and cleaning all day and setting up. I'm excited though!

Mary - you are such a little hostess!!! I want to be a hostess like you! Everyone should come to san diego!

Feral - the 180's are ALL yours :D you can do it!!!

I'm off to work... here's to saying NO to vending machines, and lunches out this week!! I'm going for a run after work, and possible kickboxing after that... we'll see how the energy level is.... :dizzy:

Mary - You're going to NYC? Jealous!!!! For your birthday?

The storms last night were bad here. Not so much where I live but there were 8 tornadoes reported across the state last night. I'll admit it... there are things that do NOT bother me but storms really freak me out. I've always been freaked out since I was a kid. Plus I've seen the damage a tornado can do and it's never pretty. I'm so not ready for tornado season to start back up. There's nothing like walking out of your house in the morning to a green, angry sky and you know it's going to be one of THOSE days. I definitely couldn't ever live in tornado alley. I would sleep in the storm cellar every night. LOL

Jess - YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

Mary and Feral - It must be storming everywhere right now because we're having some pretty bad thunderstorms down here in FL, too.

My scale told me 220.5 this morning. There's no way I could lose 5.5 pounds in a week so I am chalking this up to stopping my BC.

Jess - Hahaha, I love throwing parties :D

Feral - Yup! My mom, me, my aunt, and my mommom are going up to walk around (I'm on a mission for a new wallet and any nice bags I come across), and go out to dinner and get drinks. I'm excited! I heard about the tornadoes! My friend goes to High Point University in NC and there was a tornado there.

Wfonesca - Congrats on being less than 10lbs from goal!!!

Blah, I'm glad I let my TOM come early because I would hate to be wearing my gorgeous dress and worrying if my tampon needs a change. Oh! I have to take a picture of my outfit for you guys! The lighting's going to be terrible because it's raining, but let me go do that so you guys can see!

Mary - Two words - Canal Street. That is, if you don't mind knock offs.

Feral - Sorry you didn't sleep :( - You will so get to the 180's again this week.

Wfonseca - Its good that they got chicken pox when they're so young, it will be milder and they'll get over it soon.

Sam - Um, why not!? Maybe you lost a lot of water from the pill, but that's still awesome!

Jess - yeah, me and you, NO VENDING MACHINES :)

Okay, so I just got TOM which explains the weepfest I had last night. And after all of the complaining I did, I was at 177.4 this morning. Wow. A gain of 0.6 lbs over 5 days of me stuffing my face. I like to over-react. I'm swamped at work today, hopefully I can get through it and get to the gym tonight :)

Hello chickies! I just wanted to drop in to say a quick hello and to tell you all that you're doing FABULOUS! There are so many losses in here since the last time I was! You're all doing super amazing! Congrats!

Stella - Canal street is my best friend lol. I've been desperate for a new wallet since the one I bought on the boardwalk in the summer is completely falling apart!

Also, I wasn't sure that I was bloated from TOM yet but when I went to take my rings off this morning (which fit fine, some a bit loose, on normal days) I had to fight them to get them off. So bloating? Check. Good, that explains the 2lb gain in one day.

I only get to go spinning tomorrow for this week since I'll be in NYC Thursday so I hope I can get lots of workouts in before the party. At least Wed + Thurs I'll be walking all over NYC so that's lots of good exercise!

I just took pics and am putting them up in the photo album now :)

Star - How are you!? I've missed you!

Okay so I'm not working out later. The lower half of my body is revolting against me, and I have no energy, so CB is coming over for tacos and the Pacific (the HBO mini-series). I have ondemand and he liked Band of Brothers, so I said I'd give this one a try.

HaleyisLove
03-29-2010, 01:26 PM
Stella- I'm jealous of CB... I want tacos...

Sam- Take it... I was not happy with my scale this morning... well I didnt gain and I did lose... however I just wanna be in freaking ONDERLAND... ugh

Star- I agree with Stella...we miss you

I dont have time for much more than that... I have been super stressed and going crazy finishing my apps and crossing my T's and dotting all of my I's... seriously sooo much goes into applying for law school... but at least its all done now... now I just get to study some more...great....

I really need to get some studying done today bc I'm going to the boyfriends tomorrow after work so I need to get up and hit the gym at like 6 am before work... ugh... fml

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I was busy, though I could have been busier. Went and saw a play on Saturday night. My best friend and I and our S.O. have seasons tickets to one of the theatre companies here in town. It was a nice night out. Watched the play, it was amazing, then out for a drink. Some how we spent the entire evening discussing, religion, politics and private vs. public school! The three things you're supposed to avoid in polite company..... I guess were not all that polite! Thank-fully we were all on the same page for the most part. I'm the lone private school advocate.

Studied, for the rest of the weekend. I have two exams tomorrow. I just wanna be done! I got back two papers today. Got 85% on both, thought I did a bit better as an 85% is only and -A, around here. But won't complain to terribly. Apparently introductions are my downfall.....

I saw 139 on the scale on Friday, but I'm back up to 141.4 today. I was perfectly on plan all weekend, so I know it's water weight, I also started working out again this weekend, but still so frustrating! I've noticed that I'll see a low number, then go back up 2 or 3 lbs, then down a pound then just below the original low number. It's fairly constant. Down, up, down, down seems to be my weight loss pattern! Hope to see the 130's again by the end of the week or early next week.

Apparently I'm the only one with nice weather! It's a bit overcast, but nothing major and 14C, that's 57F for you yannks! :P Not gorgeous, but decent. I'll take it.

Mary - so jealous of NYC one of my fav cities in all the world. I love the energy of the people and the shopping. The shopping suck here in Canada, what I wouldn't kill for a Macy's or a Bloomingdales, or Sasks or Victoria Secrete. We are truly deprived shopping wise here in Canada. On a sad note: the last time I was in NYC I flew home on Sept 10, 2001. Had breaky at windows on the world on the on Sept 10th then took a cab to the airport and flew home.

Wfonesca - You're almost there, you'll see goal in no time!

Feral, I wish I had the rest of the week off. Am definately looking forward to the long weekend though. However, it will be spent writing a 12 page paper....so not the most exciting weekend ever!

Stella, try to get to the gym, you'll feel better!

Better get back to studying for those 2 exams tomorrow. Ugg, I'm so sick of papers and exams.

Shan - I weighed the pros and cons of the gym vs. TV with a friend. TV so won. Thursday is usually my rest day, so I'll just move it to Monday this week. Not a big deal :) Besides, after doing all of that hiking this weekend, my legs may revolt.

2 more hours then I get to go home. Woo hoo.

Stella - Weepfest yesterday? I might need to dig up the old thread. Or fill me in :)

Feral - You'll be back in the 180s in NO TIME.

Jess - Go for the run! Half MARATHON!!! I want to do the Mud Run but it's all full, so might have to wait for next year.

Haley - I did your Stairmaster for 30 minutes yesterday and talk about working up a freakin' sweat! I was dripping on that machine. I almost felt bad but I cleaned it up afterwards. Man, you're a beast for being able to do an hour.

This week's weigh-in was good. Not in Onederland yet, but so effin' close it's pissing me off. Plus my TOM is still being effin' weird and late. Should be soon though, I'm losing my cool over stupid little things.

Stella - Enjoy your unexpected rest day!! I also had an unexpected rest day due to an aggrivated back but still, then the BF called and wants to take me out for supper - oh well, what can ya do ;)

Feral - the 180's are all yours girlfriend - you'll get there!! I'm hoping for a big whoosh after TOM and before my trip...so approximetely Thursday! lol.

I read this thread like 3 hours ago so I don't remember everything but I hope you all had a great weekend and are enjoying this horrid Monday that is ALMOST over!! haha.

Haley - You'll be outta the 200's and doing your happy dance before you know it. Not to scare you but I was stuck between 203-207 for 8-8.5 months before I finally hit 199. So just keep pushing along!!!

HaleyisLove
03-29-2010, 05:34 PM

JennyG
03-29-2010, 05:36 PM
Haley - Bahahahaha thats hilarious!! 202 - soooooo close!! keep trucking ladies!!!

OH - I searched the house high and low today.... ( I was home alone for once!!!!) and found my scale!! Stupid time to weigh myself, 2 days into TOM but atleast I have an idea if I gained or lost.... and I wanna have a good idea of where I am at before I leave on Thursday for my vacay.

Also - big deal for me... I have been under my calories the last 4 days...like not too low but usually I eat and eat to meet them.... I think I'm finally learning how to listen to my body and to realize if im not hungry well I'm just not effing hungry and if I am, and if I do want cereal at 3pm, I'm gonna have cereal at 3pm! lol. This is huge for me ladies....HUGE (like my ***!!! haha)

stellarosa27
03-29-2010, 05:44 PM
Jess - I didn't talk about it. I was just hormonal, silly TOM, and really really tired from the past week. So I grabbed the cat, held on, and sobbed into my pillow. She was irritated, but stayed there for a good 20 minutes, sans scratching. She's the most awesome cat in the whole world.

Jenny - I love how you hide the scale and then really can't find it :)

Alright. Time to get out of this place :)

Jess7286
03-29-2010, 06:03 PM
Aw Stella - Well I'm glad you got the cryfest on. TOM makes me moody too. I hate crying and sometimes I feel like crying for no reason if I'm near TOM. Annoying. I want your cat though. That's an awesome loving pillow.

Haley - We are the same weight! Yeah, the picture is small. Non-recipe pictures are tiny and you can't see the details as much. Don't worry, I'll post the recipe either tonight or tomorrow. It's really, REALLY easy. You have an oven though yeah? Sounds like a silly question to ask but I didn't have a functional oven in college for awhile haha.

Jenny - You'll be fine in Boston. Get the clam chowder :) You almost HAVE to. And check out the hot Boston guys. I think they're hot. And hooray for listening to your body! I sometimes eat because I know I have to and other times I eat when I'm actually hungry. It depends. And other times I just binge. But I haven't binged since I started in February so that's good.

Mary - i right there with ya on the bloating. tom should be here soon. i'm hoping for a serious whoosh next week, cuz this is getting ridiculous. i've been + or - a pound of 166/167 for like 3 weeks. argh.

feral - you are looking sooo good. such a huge difference!! are you still sticking to south beach pretty much?

haley - 202, you are almost to the 100's!!! go you!!! you can do it!!! :cheer2: :cheer3:

jess - ok so i've been eyeing all this races.... the 5k i did on sat got me hooked. i'm doing the 5k at mission bay on april 25th, and then i'm thinking about doing the iron girl 10k in del mar on may 8th.... then of course rock n roll half on june 6. am i crazy? i think yes.

stella - you crack me up. no particular reason... just the way you say things. :)

skinnybride - CONGRATS on the healthy choices. keep it up!

shan - i'm the same way with the down up down up thing. i think i subconsciously allow myself to celebrate right after a new low, and relax the work out a bit and relax the healthy food a bit. then i get back on track after a day or 2 and eventually see a new low number... then the cycle continues. i'm ok with it... as long as the cycle keeps going lower and lower!!!

---

Whew just finished 4 mile run woo hoo!!! I DEFEATED the vending machine wanting monster inside of me today. NO NO and NO. I had subway chicken sandwich at lunch, with no sauces, and i had a 100 cal pack of oreo crisp thingies in the afternoon. yay!!!!! now i'm eating turkey cheese rolls hehe.... heading to kickboxing in about an hour. i'm gonna sleep like a baby tonight! :D

Feral - Just saw your pic before and afters and WOW!! Great job! Def motivated me at dinner time because thats the exact area I want to slim down! Keep up the good work! :)

Haley - How was the show?

Well last Thurs I interviewed for a new job and got a call Friday that I got it AND started today :) Soooo exhausted right now. About to hop in the shower and hit the hay. Didn't excercise today :( But hopefully tomorrow.
Hope everyone else is doing good. Working today after being out of work for a few months def made me want to slim down!

I worked out twice today...I started watching TBL and realized that I DO NOT want this fat on my body! So I worked out while watching it. I feel better now that I did...

Something my ex once told me when I was procrastinating gym time: "Youll never regret going to the gym!"

So today was the one year anniversary of my father in law's death. Well I guess technically he's not my father in law, but the bf and i have been together for almost 4 years, so for the most part he was. I called my bf's mom and had a nice conversation with her. She was in good spirits and the bouquet of flowers we sent made her happy. She did start harping on me about why the bf and I aren't living together :P I'm glad she's doing ok.

I'm worried though, I haven't heard from the bf all day. I know he had class til 9:30 tonight, but it's now 11:15 and I haven't heard from him. I'm a bit worried. I know today will be rough on him, and I just want to make sure he's ok. Even a text would be good. I want him to know that I'm thinking of him, and that I miss his dad too. I just hope he's alright....

I need to get to bed, two exams tomorrow. I'll be by to do personals, sometime tomorrow afternoon.....

"Youll never regret going to the gym!"

ahhh i need to think that way!
i've had a rough week. i've not been taking my thyroid medication so on top of that slowing things down... it just makes me tired!

i'm going away for a weekend at the beach in a little over a week and i think the stress is working against me, i dont know what to do. it seems like whenever i stress out like this i self sabatoge.

so... i'm calling in for a med refill tomorrow and i'm going to work out everyday until my trip. even if its not enough to make a difference in the way i look- its enough time to make a difference in how i feel

Goooood morning ladies.

Shan that was very sweet of you to call her :) I'm sure she appreciated it. Did you ever hear from the boy?

Jazz - Wait, there's a marathon with live bands? Whoa. That may inspire me to kick up my running.

Jess - Thanks :) that first shirt got a lot of compliments today (even one from CB!) I actually bought it because its Cherry Blossom season, and that's what it reminded me of. But I'm beginning to lovelovelove Ann Taylor.

Mary - have you watched any episodes yet? We watched 1 & 2, its not bad so far. CB keeps telling me I have to go back and watch Band of Brothers, which is currently On Demand.

So, question - have any of you runners ever done a hash run? CB does them almost every weekend, and he keeps telling me when I'm ready he'll do it with me. I'm kind of hesitant because I can JUST run 1 mile on the treadmill before I die and its been too cold for me to run outside to practice. Also, the thought of him seeing me as I die while running is just embarrassing. I'm thinking maybe I'll work up to it or something, but has anyone ever done one?

Feral
03-30-2010, 10:05 AM
Good Morning Ladies,

I'll go back and do personals later after I finish my coffee.

Stella - a hash run sounds like someone crossing the border with illegal substances, in which case you would run like ****. LOL Sorry... still asleep.

Scale is down to 189.5 so maybe I really am in the 180s.

I realized last night that I have worked out 4 out of the past 5 days. Todays work out will be 5 out of 6. That's pretty effin impressive for me!!!! [Special thanks to Haley and Stella for kicking my butt into gear!]

So yeah. Gonna finish my coffee. Hop in the shower, go work out, come home and clean my house (mainly my room which looks like a disaster area from constant travel).

I think my mom and I are going to see Alice in Wonderland tomorrow. BTW Mary - I'm gonna steal your necklace.

Well girls what a day!
I hadn't weighed myself in what... 12 days! and I did today...Right in the middle of T.O.M and I'm 195...thats effing fantastic, because that means that after TOM leaves and I have my monthly "whooooosh"... I'll be that much closer to 189.9, I am also going to make a rule not to weigh myself until the same time every month or every 4 weeks (same thing). That is a huge deal for me, but I really feel alot less stress not looking at that number every morning!
PS - I freaking love calorie counting. And like yesterday was supposed to be 1800 cals in my zig zag cycle but I ended up with 1350 at the end of the day (AND the bf took me for supper!!) so huge NSV for me, so that means if I eat a little more today then I Am okay with that!

My back is still in intense pain but what can ya do - I'm going to MMA tonight anyhow! I'm going on vacay for 5 days so I'll get atleast 3 days of intense training this week.

Also, I was searching online and finally found PEI's first ever bootcamp!! It starts in May and its exactly like "the last ten pounds" show... except its 8 weeks. It's 250$ but I Think its worth it because I really think it'll boost me for summer and tone up my problem areas that my gym now just isn'tdoing for me. Super expensive but I think I'm signing up! I have to make the commitment by April 17 - yes or no? DEFINITE YES! It'll be my FIRST real challenge - as if losing 90 lbs isnt enough hahaha.

FERAL - Yay!! You are def in the 180's!! Congrats!

Feral
03-30-2010, 01:28 PM
Stella - the mental image I had in my head was much funnier than the truth. :(

Jenny - Hooray and YES I think the boot camp thing sounds awesome if you're willing to do it. I don't like having people yell at me even though I need someone to so I actually do it but I just get really intimidated and feel like crap afterwards.... but if you're down for it then DEFINITELY do it! Look at it as an investment. You really are a rockstar Ms. MMA! Just be CAREFUL with your back! Remember last time?

Back from an hour at the gym... so glad I went! I watched this uber hottie run a 7 minute mile. While I was doing some of my running intervals I imagined I was keeping up with him (of course he was running at like 9 and I was jogging at 5.2) but I was definitely distracted and it kept me going.

I realized today that running (for me) is just as much a mental game as it is physical. At first there was a lot of mental resistance on my part and then once I got into it I realized it wasn't as horrible as I had made it out in my head. My calves even loosened up a lot.

Now I'm off to shower (again), and then I'm going to run to the mall for a new nose screw and then over to Ulta. I love HEMP lotion (that's the brand name). My father has commandeered it from our (me and my mom's) bathroom. It's technically hers so I can't ***** about it but I want my own. HA!

I hope everyone's afternoon is as beautiful as it is here!!!

It's pouring down rain here and it took me like an extra 20 minutes to get to my tutoring job today after school because a good majority of the streets in my town are closed again due to flooding. But it's going to be warm and sunny by the end of the week and that's what is keeping me going!!! haha

Hey ladies! I'm in a really productive mood school work wise right now, so I don't have time for personals.

Both of my roommates just attacked the stove so I have to wait about an hour just to cook chicken. BLAH. I'm a tad hungry right now, but at least by then I'll know if it's legit hunger or not. I'm grilling chicken and I made this cucumber salad (if anyone has read Naturally Thin, it's Bethany's recipe. SO GOOD!! and filling, and only around 60 calories for the whole thing.) I'm still at 146.6, but also right in the middle of my TOM so I'll be patient. I was bad again this weekend, so I'm back on plan completely. My stomach was bothering me so much because of my oopsie weekend, so that was good reinforcement for me to STAY ON PLAN.

My family is not doing anything for easter, so I'll be going home thursday into friday to get my car inspected, and then come back up to school. The boyfriend will be coming up for the weekend!!! I work easter sunday too, but that's time and a half! whoo hoo!! I can't wait to see Greg though..It's been almost a month.

It's so rainy and crappy today..but it's supposed to go up to 67 degrees tomorrow. Finally the warmth is back!

Alright, back to this paper...Have a good day everyone!

Feral - thanks! My bf pointed out that I probably shouldn't pay 250$ to do a fitness class when I can pay 65$ and continuing doing my MMA which is an insane intense workout anyways, and he's pretty sure I am going to burn myself out...so I have until April 17th to commit. I'm going to seriousally think on it. And about my back - he also told me that if I go to the gym tomorrow he isn't going to talk to me for 7 days...7 DAYS! He'd do that you know. And as much as it ****ing sucks, maybe he's right...resting my back is probably the best thing to do, I need to stop being such an idiot and take a break.

I suspect my body is mad at me and this is the only way to get me to slow the EFF down!

Anyways...I'm wiped. Got my new Hungry Girl cookbook that was released today, I'm going to go ponder through that and go to bed!

Oh, JESS - I was checking your blog and wanted to take a bite right through the screen...that chinese noodle chicken thing looks fantastic!!!

I don't have time to read through all the posts, but I know lots of you go to the gym so I have a question.

I am debating if I should join a gym or not. We have a treadclimber and its a great workout, but sometimes I want something different. You think $40 a month is worth being able to use the machines and be able to attend the classes. Spinning for example??

OH and what can you do to workout calves?? Mine need definition!

shortandfluffy- My monthly ($40) gym membership is the best thing I spend $$ on. I make it a priority and it really keeps me engaged and going. And I LOVE spinning.

Speaking of the gym, I ran four miles in 34:25 tonight. I posted my splits in the March exercise thread. I am super proud bc that is damn fast for me.

Jess - Oh man. Time to TRAIN. I'm gonna do the half. I'll crawl to the finish line if I have to. I'm going to see if I can get somebody to sponsor me (eyes New Balance).

Stella - I'll be down to do hash with you when I'm back! And, maybe CB seeing you "die" will be a huge turn on because he'll see how hard you're working. You can do it. I've heard it's really fun and it's pretty huge overseas. They had a hash run in Bangkok but I couldn't find the start :(

Forest - FOUR MILES IN 34?! Yeah. THAT'S EFFIN' FAST. I can run a 5K in that time. Sheesh woman. That's awesome! I aspire to be a speedster like you.

Feral - Hotties are always good to look at! I'm glad he was your motivation. Now just remember what time you went and go near that time every day and you'll be running at 9.0 in no time!

Jenny - Aw thanks! It was easy too :) I always forget that it's hard for people to get Asian-esque ingredients in some places though. Lucky Cali has so many Asians that it's EVERYWHERE. What part of your back hurts? If it's your lower back, I would DEFINITELY rest it. If it's your upper, you can usually massage the stress muscle and it'll get better quick, but typically our lower backs are significantly weaker. Do that "arch like a cat, flat like a table" on your knees back thing.

Forest - I am very impressed with your 34 minute 4 mile run!! That's awesome :)

Jenny - Definitely rest your back. The back is definitely something tricky and you don't want to injure it more than it already is. Have you tried one of those thermapack heat things? I used to get the one for cramps and it was like heaven!! haha

Feral - I agree with Jess. Try to go at the same time so you have hottie to look at again ;)

It's STILL raining!!! This is the third day in a row. But I think today is the last of it and then the warm weather is supposed to be coming in. Thank god!!! I told one of my students that I would stay after school with her today so that she can get caught up on her Spanish work. She had surgery yesterday, so she has two days of Spanish work to get through. I'm glad to help her out in any way that I can, but I just really don't want to stay late at school! LOL I would much rather just go straight home and straight to the gym. haha

Forest: DAMN GIRL. It takes me 29 minutes to run 3 miles...GO YOU!!!

It finally stopped raining. WHOO HOOO!!!!! And it's supposed to go back up into the 60's today!

I got up at 6:15 this morning and went to the gym...early morning workouts are not that bad when you go to bed at a decent time. This is definitely something I'll be doing from now on if I have to work on a monday, wednesday, or friday because otherwise I'll just be rushing myself and might have time for a shower and that's just down right icky. I ran 3 miles, and then I was on the stairmaster for 15 minutes. That thing makes you pour buckets! I love it!!!

I'm so excited for the boyfriend to come up for the weekend. Beyond excited!!

Thanks guys :) Jess7286- I should really do a half like you. I'm getting the speed thing but I still don't have the distance thing. And I only have the speed thing on the treadmill. Samantha- 3mi in 29 minutes is really good! My 3mi pace for that run was about 27, so about 28 for a 5k...that's really close.

I got new running shoes last night too, Asics Kayano 15s. I'm upgrading from the 2120s. I was thinking of going to 2140 or 2150, but not a lot of places actually have them in my size. So I tried the Kayanos and the Nimbuses and the Kayanos are awesome...your foot just rolls off the toe, and they are so light. The sales girl was really nice too and gave me an extra 20% off, so they were only $89. I found them on amazon for $85 including shipping, too, if anyone is looking. They usually run north of $100; the sticker price is $140.

Thank you forest for replying to my question and being the ONLY one to reply.

Sorry to be a negative nancy, but the reason I don't post much here is my posts never get responded to. I ask a question... only one person answers. Everyone else gets a response... not me. I usually try to chime in with the convo. and reply on what is going on. But I just can't keep up... its hard not to feel like you don't fit in. Sooooo I will just stick to the other threads. Sorry guys.

Chele - sorry to hear it's still raining!!! You should head down this way -- it's sunny and it's supposed to be in the 80s by the end of the week. The weather has been absolutely GORGEOUS!!! And that's so nice of you to help your student with her homework! Good karma, it'll come back around.

Samantha - that recipe for the salad sounds yummy! I forgot to mention to you the other day when you posted, but the pictures from the thign you did the other day - you look so tiny! Great progress pics in the photo album too!!!

Jazz Jess - Ummm... I would totally stop and listen to the music! The rock n roll run sounds like a BLAST though! I wish they did something like that near here. Also, to answer your question from a while back I'm still doing SBD. I'm continuing P1 until tomorrow (although I did eat a banana yesterday because my legs have been really sore from working out). I've been half assed counting calories, but I'm trying to be a littttle more conscious of what I'm eating.

Jenny - your boyfriend may have a point. I really have to second him and tell you to slow down and heal your back before you destroy it. Coming from someone who had CHRONIC back pain for 2 years... you can really jack it up and you'd be surprised how easy it is to jack it up again once you've already hurt it. Granted, I was in a wreck with an 18 wheeler, but even small things after that would leave me sore and aching for days. It's okay to take some time off. Do the stretches Jess said... it not only helps your back but will help your core too (hello planks). HOORAY for awesome weather while you're in the states! You're gonna have a blast!

Kelli - I just recently joined the gym again. I think it can go a few ways so you really have to weigh the pros and cons. I have a treadmill at home. i use it on occasion but not as much as I "should." I had a gym membership before and rarely went so i cancelled, however, I do like the fact they have more machines (including a 30 minute weight circuit) that I can use. I go to Planet Fitness which for me is only $10 a month with NO contract. I've really pushed myself to go recently so I think it's a fantastic investment. I would love to go to a gym that offered classes (and $40/month for that kind of gym is cheap so I would go for it), but there isn't one close enough to my house and I feel like I get more use out of the one near my house because there are no excuses that way. I hope that helps and I'm sorry you feel you get left out. I know for me sometimes I don't always have time to go back but may respond to the most recent responses on the same page.

Forest - you are a MACHINE!!!!! How awesome are you! The guy I was drooling over yesterday did a mile in a little over 7 minutes... if he was doing 4 it probably would've been about the same pace and he was hauling a$$. I'll get there one day!!!!

Jess - I went yesterday around 11:30 which unfortunately is when I'm usually working. This week is spring break so I have the week off.... so I went in the "morning" to avoid the crowds. I'll def keep my eye out for him though. LOL

-------------------
Okay so seriously you guys can be sick of me bragging, but I like to share my JOYS with you because you all really motivate me. Today is official weigh day -- 188.0! That means I have lost 20 lbs and have also lost my FIRST 10% of my body weight. Granted, it took me a little over 2 months to lose 10 lbs, but you can't lose if you aren't doing the work. I'm so psyched again and ready to kick *** and take names. Again - THANK YOU ALL!!! You listen to me whine, you listen to me when I'm excited and you always have good advice.

I woke up about 10:30 this morning. Almost 12 hours of sleep - that's gotta stop otherwise I'm going to be REALLLLLY sad next week when work starts up again. Plus I dont' like sleeping that long, but I guess my body needed it.

I'm going to see Alice in 3D with my mom this afternoon. We were going to go to IMAX but they didn't have an earlier showing of it, I figure if I have to see it in IMAX I can go some other time. Speaking of which, I am TOTALLY stoked for the new Hubble in 3D. I love outer space... and as my father likes to tell me, apparently I live there.

Therapy after the movie.

I'm taking today as a rest day, unless I get a wild hair and decide to go work out tonight.

Tomorrow is "THE" bar crawl aka Eric's birthday party downtown. I can't exactly say I'm super stoked about it, but I'm sure we'll have fun. I'm volunteering to be DD so I don't end up with a crap ton of empty calories that is going to set me back from the progress I've made this week.

Have a Happy Hump Day everyone!!!

Hey all!

This is going to be short b/c my computer is being a J-E-R-K, but hi!! I took a mental health day from work.

Kelly - my gym is $20 a month and I loved it. I shopped around, and if you tell them you're shopping, they give you competitive rates, or waive fees. I agree with Forest, my old gym was $50 a month and it was the best thing I spent money on. Also the cost motivated me to go.

And I'm sorry if you feel left out, but there are a lot of posts going on, and as many of us say, we don't always go back and read everything OR have time to respond to everything. I wouldn't take it so personal.

Ok, so this computer is freaking out. Time to head up to school waaaay early to get paper research done. Woot. Thank goodness the library has a starbucks :)

Yes, and your post was one of the last on a previous page. Sometimes when you have questions like that, you get more answers if you make a new thread because it pops up at people.

And refer to where I said my computer was acting up - it spells things for me, and my mouse doesn't cooperate, so sorry about your name.

I don't really like to make new threads if I don't have to... there is already SO much more on here. My post was the last one on the page BUT all the other things that got commented on were above mine... I will move on though.

Sorry for being *****y, but its one of those days. Taking too much to heart.

Feral- Congrats on the 188!

Stella- I need a mental health day. I just took an extra mental health lunch hour.

Kelli- it's ok hon we all have those days. i've also started threads that no one has replied to. It's rough bc you come on here to feel accepted, and sometimes it can seem like the same old friendships are forming and you're an outsider all over again. But on the other side, I think a good thing is that you can jump in at any time and respond where you have time/actually something to say, without being pressured to respond to everyone. I myself haven't been the best at reading/responding to everything, but it's certainly nothing personal. Some of my favorite people on here I haven't actually responded to in days.

People constantly get my name wrong too (same thing, mistake a Y for the IE) so I understand that.

Forest - I've just been so tired - between travelling, school, putting in extra hours at work and on top of that, all this family bs that's going on, I was just like okay, I need to take a day off to tie up things I've been neglecting (like school assignments) and also to destress a little before going home this weekend.

Jess - He's seen me "die" before, he's gone spinning with me and I'm always out of breath when we hike (uphill) - he knows I work hard. Its just the running. That's his thing and I'm so terrible at it. After this school semester is over, I'm going to make an appt with my doctor to talk about this breathing thing. My friend Sam thinks I have exercise induced asthma, or something similar.

Chele - I was very impressed with how quickly the weather changes in Boston. Last Thursday it was beautiful, then Friday it was snowing. I was like huh? What?

Samantha - I love/hate the stairmaster. Never knew my butt could sweat before I did that thing.

Feral - YAY :)

So I went spinning this morning - got a really good work out (on top of the hour and a half I worked out last night) but the instructor was HARD - there were almost no breaks to grab water, so I made my own, which I never, ever do. I was just like lady, HYDRATION. So now, of course, I'm starving. I got a flatbread from DnD right after that, and I just got to school and ran to quiznos and got a small sub. I'll probably grab sushi on campus tonight before class, if I can get to the dining hall before all of the little whipper snappers.

Why is the library FULL on a day when it is gorgeous outside? I have an assignment I need to type up/print, and as soon as that's done, I am sitting outside. I have lots of things I need to read, and I can read outside.

Chele615
03-31-2010, 05:54 PM
Stella - That's one of our sayings up here. "Don't like the weather?....wait 10 minutes. It'll change" LOL

Jenny - 80's will be fabulous shopping weather!!! Although really it's shopping...so any weather works ;) LOL I can't believe you're actually going to be in Billerica this weekend. That's so crazy to me because no one knows where we are!!!

Feral - Thanks!!! Congratulations on being more in the 180's than you were yesterday. That's so exciting :)

It FINALLY stopped raining!!!! Sun's still not out yet, but it's not wet and that's really all that matters right now. And the girl who I was going to help with her homework ended up coming in today after all, so we spent two blocks doing Spanish work to get her all caught up. Half of my Geometry class was out today, so we had a "catch up on all your other work" day. So, that meant I got to leave work early and go to the gym!!! I even did some extra time there. I am so into the book that I'm reading that I kept adding on 15 extra minutes on the bike so that I could finish the chapter. LOL

Kelli - I went back to find your post, and I apologize for not seeing it earlier.

Yes, I think $40 is worth it for a gym membership. My theory is if I spend money for a gym, I'll go because it'd be a waste if I didn't and since I'm strapped for cash as it is, I make use of it. Besides, you'll get spinning classes, hotties to look at it, free weights, yoga, pool (sometimes) and all sorts of goodies.

As for calves, calf raises help, running, squats (a little), lunges (a little). Anything that works your legs basically.

shantroy
03-31-2010, 07:55 PM
Kelli, I agree I love my gym membership! Mine's more expensive about $70 a month but it's totally worth it. I don't do the classes, because they're all at odd times. It seems like it caters to the yummy mommy crowd, but I use all the other facilities. I couldn't imagine not having my membership. It gets me out of the house, and can totally shake me out of my funk when I need it. Plus, they make the best lattes (and grilled cheese with bacon.....but I try not to think about that one too much)! I'd keep my membership for the lattes alone! Seriously, it's well worth it. Ask, if you can do a trail membership. Some places will give you a week free so you can see if you like it. In my mind gyms are a bit like jeans, you need to try a couple before you find the one that fits you best! I can guarantee you that once you find the right gym, it will be money well spent!

Chele615
03-31-2010, 08:28 PM
Kelli....I go to Planet Fitness and pay only $10 per month, so it is definitely worth it to me. I go on a pretty consistent basis (5-6 times a week), so I definitely get my money's worth and then some. There aren't any classes available to take, but I'm ok with that. I get by with the cardio machines and the weights.

And yay for another girl who has a unique spelling of their name!!! Mine always gets spelled wrong (Michele) since everyone else in the world seems to spell it with two L's. My kids at school are always impressed that I remember if their name is spelled differently. But I know what it's like to never have your name spelled right on things, so I always make sure to be extra conscious of that type of stuff!

I have gotten many awards and whatnot through the years at school with my name spelled wrong. They even spelled it wrong on my college yearbook...which I paid for and which I made sure to tell the person like 15 times that my name is spelled differently. Ugh!

Just got back from the hockey game tonight. Awesome game, we won! However, I don't think it will be enough to get us in the play offs :( Still had a good time catching up with a friend.

Saw 139 on the scale today! My cycle of low up up lower is bang on! I also had a NSV today as well. I was cleaning out my closet and decided to try on a pair of pants, that I was hoping to wear to easter brunch this sunday. They're an 8 petite so they fit small. I put them on and they FIT!!!! I couldn't believe it. Then I tried on my favourite pair of shorts and they fit as well!

I'm super excited about the shorts, because my school does a big party day on the last day of classes. It's called bermuda shorts day or BSD and everyone, even the professors wear shorts to school no matter what the weather is. It's basically a huge drunk fest - beer gardens, live bands etc., done while wearing shorts. It starts with a free pancake breakfast in the morning and then the booze starts flowing......I'm just happy to have a pair to wear!

These are a couple of pix for last years BSD

Feral ~ No classes at my PF. Sometimes I wish that they did offer some. There are two smaller alcove type rooms that they could definitely hold some in though. LOL But I guess for the $10 a month, I shouldn't complain!

Jess ~ Good for you!!! I can't believe you ran for 90 minutes pretty much straight! That's crazy! I think the most I've done is 30 minutes.

Shantroy ~ That sounds like such a cool thing that your school does!!! My little Catholic college never did anything like that ;) The nuns wouldn't have approved...haha

Lissa ~ the good thing is that you said you have no more to eat....so you don't have to worry anymore. It'll all work itself out at the end.

Shan- That BSD looks so fun! we have a Block Party up here, but there's been so many issues with it...over 100 people got arrested last year, so I've never gone. Plus it's on my birthday this year. UGH.

Jess- GO YOU!! I could never see myself doing 7 miles! crazy!!

TGIF..oh wait..it's thursday! silly me. I'm going home today to get my tires changed and my car inspected, and I'll be back to school tomorrow. Greg's coming up tomorrow too!!! But my days are completely thrown off since I'm going home.

This was no april fools joke..the scale read 146.0 today! Moving down again finally! And I had a NSV yesterday, I walked by my roommates in my work clothes, and they said that i looked skinny. They've seen me every day obviously, but they said that they're finally noticing a differene (boo that it had to be at 14ish lbs, but oh well). I'm also trying on my skinny jeans when I get home today. I haven't fit into them in well over a year..I can't wait to see how they fit!

Also for april fools, Greg and I changed our status to engaged on facebook...people are going NUTS. My whole wall is FILLED with congratulations, people have tagged us in their statuses, I've gotten calls and texts out the wazoo. It was so bad last night when we changed it that I had to turn my phone on silent, and I never do!! I told people that he had me go online when I got home from work last night, and he proposed to me over a video IM, but that he won't show me the ring until he comes up on friday because he wants to formally propose to me...he just couldn't wait. hahahah!! I'm totally going to have NO friends tomorrow when they find out that this is a joke! On the other hand...no one is going to believe us when it actually happens for real! Even his family is believing this!! Of course it's going to be depressing when i change my status back to "in a relationship" tonight...because it isn't for real!! :( But...can someone say epic april fools prank?

And I go to PF when I'm home in Jersey, my sister belongs and so does her best friend, so I just use her friend's pass. Illegal? Yes. Do I care? Nooo :)

As a possible April Fools joke (I really effing hope its a joke) they blocked gmail at work. This is unacceptable as I go crazy if I'm not in contact with people, so I'm refreshing my iPhone every 10 minutes. I'm going to try and buckle down and get a lot done today, so I'll probably be quiet. :)

Thank you Jess, Shan and Chele - I really wanted to do it, but now I don't know if I can. Just found out that our county taxes doubled and so now money will be tight this summer :( I really wanted to join and go to the spinning classes, but it doesn't look like its going to happen... so I'm sad.

Chele - that sucks about your year book! Mine was actually spelled right, but it gets spelled wrong at work all the time.. my last name too.

Lissa - after my TOM I usually get a pretty decent woosh.. but right before and during I want to eat a LOT. Doesn't help does it? Haha.

Shan - I love NSVs like that.. I can't wait for my older pair of jeans to fit!

Jess I wish I had your running dedication.. I will stick to my treadclimber for now.

Feral - I think a hot guy at the gym would be more distracting in a bad way not a good one... haha. I am married.. is it ok to say that?

Anyways.. sorry again for being a whiney *** the other day... I just don't like to be ignored.. but who does?? Call me crazy

Sorry in advance for not doing personals - I mean, jeez, you skip chat for a few days and you're six pages behind... :)

It's been a rough week with the moving - I haven't had a lot of time to unpack, so I'm still in the "Where's all my fricking stuff?!" stage. Plus, money has been stressful - I know the home buying makes sense and all, but so far we've found about five little fixes that need to be made and I really need that money to save for the wedding instead! Grr... it's not helping that it's TOM, too :(

So I'm trying to chill out today - I haven't been good about food or exercise lately, but today is a new month and I know that even if I'm stressed now, that'll pass. We will eventually get adjusted to the new place, things will settle down and I'll be able to focus on the things I do need to get done. I just need to stay away from the damn vending machine in the mean time!

Samantha- LOL I hope it is worth the aftermath. That is an intense prank; I wouldn't have the ovaries to pull something like that off.

Stella- it's my Friday too! NYC tomorrow baby :)

Shan- congrats on everything fitting! BSD looks super fun.

Smisen- I spent all the $$ my parents saved for my wedding on my house. It was totally worth it. You have a house and a fiancee--lucky you!!!

Beautiful sunny day up here. I'm seeing a play tonight and I'm going to wear something new. Next week when I go to Cambridge the friend I'm staying with is throwing a Gossip Girl party and I'm going full-on Blair--I already have my headband and plaid silk charmeuse designer cocktail dress picked out :) Things are finally looking up...and I'm supposed to get my financial aid package from Harvard today...

Good Morning Ladies

Kelli- People dont ignore people intentionally in here...sometimes things just get over looked...there have been plenty of times when things are asked and no one answers... but acting like that isnt going to make people like you

Smisen-I'm sure the move is stressful...things will get better :)

Stella- Dude I hate your work :( I'm going to miss our gchatting

Samantha- My sister wanted to tell my mom she was pregnant and I was like please dont...my mom just insisted on giving me the sex talk again at the age of 23... seriously I hate her jk

Forest- I have lots of Blair headbands... I was a little obsessed... feathers and all :)

and like everyone today is also my friday!!! but its also stairmaster day which gets way less !!!!

Samantha/B] - That joke is BRUTAL! HAHA.. One of my friends a few years ago told her parents her and her hubby they were expecting.. her mom got ALL excited. Then later that day told her it was a joke. Her mom was upset. Sad but funny. They have a kid now though.

[B]Stella - They blocked gmail here last school year.. totally ticked me off. They said its so the students can't get on it... sooo? Watch what they are doing!

Smisen - We bought a house last October, so I know what you are going through with finding stuff to fix. They guy that had the house before half-assed a LOT of stuff, so we had to go back and fix it. None of the sockets were even grounded! I couldn't imagine trying to plan a wedding too. I feel for you!

Forest Wish I knew who Blair was.. never watched Gossip girl! Sounds fun!

We may go to the IMAX tomorrow to see Alice and Wonderland. YAY!

Oh and Haley, I'm not here to make you like me.

Kelli- Then why exactly are you here? this place is for making friends and chatting and being friendly and honestly you aren't very friendly and you pulled this whole "I'm not posting in here anymore nobody likes me blah blah blah" thing before but deleted it before you thought anyone saw it...but I saw it...and here you are crying wolf again...

shortandfluffy
04-01-2010, 12:33 PM
Because I decided it wasn't worth it... then it happened again. You have your friends here.. you even "gchat" with them. They don't ever accidently "ignore" you. You get responded to.

I'm not friendly because it bothered me that I got looked right over? I don't think I have ever done or said anything rude. Been nothing but polite and tried to be helpful. Excuse me for letting something like a FORUM chat bother me.

You were the only one that had anything negative to say to me. You have made no effort to be "friendly" with me have you? No. So I will post here and chat with other people. I will just read right over you.

Forest - I freaking love gossip girl, that sounds like so much fun!!!! I'd probably pick blair too just cuz I like her style and I'm not blonde haha so Serena would be out! But It'd give me a good excuse to be pure bit*h for one night ;)

Haley - thats too funny...the "talk" at 23 due to an April Fools prank!

Finally weighed myself...yay!!! - I am the exact same as I was last month right after TOM, however this time I am on TOM - meaning, once that whoosh takes place usually 2-3 days after (guessing...Saturday or Sunday) I should be down...however, I won't be here to weigh myself -BLAH and I was seriousally contemplated taking the scale with me LOL but no - that'd ruin my vacay!!! So - I guess I won't know until I come back! Oh well - all the more reason to stick to my plan while I'm gone.
I packed yogurt and tuna and apples for my road trip :D

Feral - even though I'm a little teeny bit jealous that your in the 180's... I'm still doing my happy dance in honor of you! I am so excited for ya girly! I am looking forward to when it finally happens to me!

My back still hurts, but its coming around, I was going to go to Largo/MMA today and my BF stopped me lol - he told me to "not even think about it" and go home - soooo I did....I'm tellin ya, this boy has some hold on me! This will be for the better in the long run, even though its driving me effing bonkers to not be able to exercise (atleast I know realize how much I love it even though sometimes I feel like I hate it!) My 5 day shopping/retail therapy should help me! haha. Then hopefully I'm feeling fine and can get back to the gym full throttle next week!

Well ladies, I'm off.... enjoy your Easter weekend! I'm going to try n check in over the weekend so I don't get too far behind!

Haley - it was an April Fools prank. I can get on. They think they're funny. Hahaha.

Jenny - Enjoy the weekend! And he's just looking out for you. Have you gone to the doctor for your back?

Smisen - You have a good attitude :) Good luck with everything.

Samantha - that's why I hate April Fools!! I'm just hiding in my office...

Forest - ME TOO! Well, NJ, but I'll be in NYC on Saturday - I'm going to see the unicorn tapestries at the Cloisters/Met. Sooooooo excited.

I found out today that cute work boy is engaged. My heart broke a little. I was like WHAAAAAATTT!? But its okay, I had lunch with CB so he could show me his "questionable purple shirt." Or his lavender shirt that he didn't know that's what its called.

Kelli- Thanks just what I always wanted...because unlike you I dont get offended when nobody pays attention to ME... you did it in the picture forum as well... complaining because no one complimented you on your picture... Grow up... and maybe I'm just the only one willing to say it

Stella- Yay... I couldn't imagine them actually taking away your email that would suck

Jenny- I've been getting the talk since I was probably 12 but at 23 I was like seriously mom I think I've gotten it under control by now

04-01-2010, 01:03 PM
Really Haley.. pays attention to me? You don't know anything about me. We have never met in person. Its all through TYPING on a friggin computer. You can't "get to know" someone in that way. And I wasn't COMPLAINING.. big difference. You post TONS of pictures.. I don't. You are making something seem a LOT bigger than it really is. I had dropped it and let it go.. EVEN apologized for it. I have a lot of bad days... and then I come and post here. I think you need to grow up and quit trying to make me seem like a bad person. I don't want to be "that person" on here.

I guess I learned if you offended by something, don't post it because it makes you a unfriendly and people won't like you.

Bah.... I can't fix this and now I seem like the poster who starts **** which I am NOT! ::sigh::

Stella, that sucks. My heart broke a bit when I found out that client crush had gone and gotten married. I was in a long term relationship and I knew he was too, but, sigh, I had moment where I was like seriously..... It sucked.

Jenny, if it's in the budget try a massage. That usually helps my back. I hope it gets better soon.

Forest, I love blair! I look odd in headbands, so I'm totally jealous. However, if I could have any wardrobe it would definitely be Serena's. I just love her chill artsy vibe. However, while not as posh, my personal wardrobe tends to run the preppy route - so Blair would be a better fit.

Smisen, I hate moving too! Ugg, the boxes! I still have nightmares. I spent all the money my parents had saved on a townhouse. I don't really want a wedding, so it seemed like a much better idea. But to have both would be kinda cool.

Sam, I wish the bf and I had thought of that. However, it probably wouldn't have been a good idea. Too many people expecting us to get engaged any second now. There would be some serious repercussions if we did that! But I still think it is hilarious!!! Let us know how it turns out.

So I'm back up to 140 this morning. Ugh, I just want more than a glimpse of the 130s! It's just teasing me! Seriously, scale make up your dang mind! Today is also my Friday, thank-god for long weekends! I am answering the suicide lines tomorrow for a couple of hours, and working on my essay. So it's not the most exciting weekend ever, but hey I'll take it.

The family is going for easter brunch on Sunday. I'm super excited. I'm totally going waaaaaay off plan for that. I can't wait for their peanut butter and banana stuffed french toast - my favourite! But I'll be right back on plan as soon as I leave.

Jenny- I want to go as everyone bc I love all their styles, and it is giving me some pain that I won't be able to wear my over-the-knee Serena boots, but being a 5'5" brunette and all, I can just do Blair better.

Stella- I love the Cloister, it is so cool!! Just be prepared to lose and arm and a leg in the gift shop bc OMG UNICORNS.

Oh, Forest, I am SOOOOOOOO EXCITED. I've wanted to see those tapestries since birth. I just never every took the 20 minute drive over there to see them, but since its going to be beautiful out and my baby sister is in an artsy mood, we're going. There will be gushing like I'm a 3 year old.

Chele - Oh okay, I love PF especially since it's only $10 a month! I was about to say if you have classes you are one lucky duck!!! Enjoy your day off tomorrow!!!

Star - glad to see you back around, girl!!!

Shan - tell me when BSD is I'm totally coming! That looks awesome!!! WOW Suicide lines this weekend? I bet it's hard on people seeing as how for a lot of people its a "holiday" weekend. Good luck, I know it's emotionally draining, don't let it wear you down too hard.

Samantha - HOORAY FOR 146!!!!! Don't feel bad about your friends not noticing your weight loss. It's hard when you see someone every day. No one said anything at work until I had lost 15, so you'll definitely start getting comments now!

Smisen - I knew you must be busy because you hadn't posted much. Moving into a new house is such a chore... I hate moving (especially since I did it so many times in a 5 year time period). Good luck with everything and don't let the house stuff get to you. Remember it will still be there and if it isn't an IMMEDIATE fix, you can always wait until the wedding, right?

Forest - enjoy your day!!!! It's nice here too, a nice balmy 85 degrees for the high! But its nice to see the sun out after it rained for what seemed like an eternity in feb/march

Jenny - THANK YOU!!! Don't be jealous... you are probably way more toned than me. I'm sure MMA is helping you gain muscle and right now I'm pushing more cardio which may be why you aren't seeing as quick of a loss. I've been putting off strength training because I'm afraid of stalling out too, but I figure it will be easier sooner than later. CHIN UP, you'll be here in no time. I'm totally rooting for you! Have A BLAST shopping!!!

HOORAY TAYLOR!!! How the heck are you?!!?!?!? You still doing personal training? And Friday is almost here!!! UPDATE US!

Shantroy - PB n' Banana stuffed french toast...quite a combination - however, PB, Bananas, syrup and bread are 4 of my fave things!! I bought the new HungryGirl 123 cook book Tuesday night and in it was a low cal version of this french toast and I thought HEY! why not try it - AMAZING!! for like 280 cals. so yummy!! I may have a light beer or two....

But I have to go over to Meredith's in a little while and make cupcakes.

Holy cross-posting batman! Shan, I didn't see your post till after I posted mine but yes, I would love to have Serena's wardrobe and I want Jenny to make all my clothes but I too am more the preppy type and Blair can get away with wearing some outrageous stuff, which is cool.

Jenny, I don't normally eat bread, so this is a major treat for me! Like you, bread peanut butter and real canadian maple syrup are my favourite! So I will indulge and not feel a moments guilt. I will however, be at the gym before and likely after brunch to make up for it!

Forest, I would love this dress. Change the belt to red and add a black cardigan and a pair of heeled Mary Jane's and I'd be channeling Blaire for sure! Unfortunately, I would need to channel Blair's bank account as well......

Forest, they're both Kate Spade. Both are about $355. I love 'em. I'm such a preppy at heart! However, there's no way I can justify spending would would amount to over $800 Canadian for 2 dresses!!! Though a girl can dream!

Forest, those shoes are to die for! My friend who called off her wedding was going ot give each of her bridesmaids a pair of Christian louboutins shoes. I found a great website that has Louboutin shoes for cheap and free shipping. www.christianlouboutinlife.com I bought a pair from there. I would trade my bf for them, if I was being perfectly honest!

so the prank went over board. EVERYONE believed it, and my mom didn't like the fact that i was joking around about it..she was hurt. so we switched it back and said april fools at around 6. so now i'm getting harassed by people but they're laughing about....but very sad that it's not actually true. i am too!!

One of my kids at school called his mother and told her that he got suspended from school because he got into a fight. My god, I could hear the mother yelling from across the room clear as day. She was none too pleased when he admitted it was an April Fools joke. Another one of my girls was actually crying in tears because her boyfriend was texting her saying that he knew she was cheating on him and that they were over. She had no idea what he was even talking about and it took her about 15 minutes of crying to realize that it was April Fools Day. My god, the drama!!!

If i dont make it, at least i will die trying (the only way i wont make it across the finish line). never thought i would actually enjoy running

Haley - you can do it. onederland is so close for you.

Jess - Oh man, time to train hardcore. My hips were a bit sore today but not too bad. I still got a lot of walking in on my "rest" day and lifted. We can do it!

Star - Screw your friend for convincing you OUT of a half marathon. Even if i have to crawl to the finish line, or walk, I will get there. You should totally do it. It's great because you will train hard, get fit, and push yourself to the maximum, and then find out that you can do it!

Forest - If I had 700 dollars to blow, I'd be buying myself a lens or something. Sadly, I'm broke. I gotta sell a few records to pay for that half haha. Good thing for credit cards.

Hey guys!

I've been off the wagon again and can't seem to get back on without 3fc so I'm back ;). Help me resist sticky rice and curry and I'll be back on track.

It's Friday night here and the kids are watching Sleeping Beauty. I wasn't hungry at dinner so I just had a little snack while they ate. Trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my calories for the day.

I gotta get rid of these 20 lbs I gained when we moved *yuck*.

TGIF everyone!

Samantha417
04-02-2010, 11:55 AM
NOW i can say TGIF!

I'm back at school after a nice drive. I got sunburned yesterday driving home from school...and not just a trucker tan..both arms and legs! The joys of paleness. But my car is in tip top shape and passed inspection so that's all good!

My whooooosh came today! yesterday I was 146.0, today I'm 144.6!!! I stood on the scale and yelled "HOLY CRAPOLA" when it happened...my roommates just laughed. So close to my goal now!! That's 16 lbs down in total. And NSV, I officially fit into my skinny jeans again!!! They fit perfectly now!

The boy toy is coming up today! But before he comes I'm going to head to the gym, and then go down to my friend's apartment to dye easter eggs with her! I'm so excited. I'm definitely still a little kid when it comes to easter. i'm hiding eggs in my apartment for my roommates because i LOVE easter egg hunts, and dying eggs. My mom didn't give me an easter basket though because she has no idea to put in it besides candy...so i'm considering her paying for my inspection as my easter basket. No pesky easter grass included! haha

I'm off to go for a run in this BEAUTIFUL weather. Enjoy the day!!

Morning ::grumble grumble::

Val - welcome back! Stick around... this place is really fantastic at keeping you accountable and you've lost 50 lbs!!!! That's awesome!

Samantha - WOOHOOO! I want an easter egg hunt!!!! Last year I watched the 2 kids across the street. Theres maybe a year difference between the 2 of them so they may be 3 and 4. They totally tackled and kicked each other's butts for eggs last year it was great.

Soooo... I would just like to throw out there that I really dislike the bar scene. I dislike drama and that's why I stopped hanging out with certain parties because EVERY time it's some BS. However, I am REALLY glad I have no hangover today. I did PRETTY well all things considered. DD or not it's hard not to give in to peer pressure. The worst thing I did last night was eat a chicken sub on whole wheat from subway. It has tons of veggies but whatever dressing they put on it was really sweet so I'm sure that just killed it. I had 3 Miller Lites throughout the night. NO cupcakes. However, when I rolled into my house at 3:40am I did succumb to half a cheese bread stick *shakes fist at parents* and I had 2 hot dogs with no buns. Could've been better, could've been worse.

Lots of cleaning to do to day. I haven't done ANY all week and have been putting it off. I can't even THINK about the gym until I do that.

For those of you that are headed out of town today -- HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND! ENJOY YOURSELVES!!!!!

Jess - i definitely think i can make it. I guess that means I gotta start training if i am going to prove him wrong. 13.1 miles here i come

feral - i am not a fan of the bar scene if i am not drinking. some coworkers and i went out to dinner for a girl's bday. i had one drink at dinner, but already decided i wasnt going to stay out much longer much less drink. the place we were going to afterward does a happy hour from 8-9 on fridays but is really strict about dress code. well another girl's bf couldnt get in bc of his t-shirt. i was like "oh darn. see you all later" ::scurries back to car:: I also had the 2 pieces of cake i scarfed down

i am beyond tired but going to try to stay up a little longer since my sister is home from college. no workouts for me for the past 2 days. there is a group here that does free bootcamps throughout the week and i went to my first one since october (the cold and i are not very friendly). i thought the words "easter egg hunt" would be enticing. The lady split us into teams and gave use clues to ran around the park and collect eggs that had workouts inside each one ie 50 pushups and 50 tricep dips. My body now hates me

Alana ~ That bootcamp sounds like fun...although I'm sure it was torture ;) But I like the idea of a scavenger hunt to find the next workout item. Very cool!

Feral ~ 3:40am?!?!?! I feel like such an old lady...I'm pretty sure I was asleep by like 10:30 last night ;)

OK SO.

#1. I'd heard these Emerald cocoa roast almonds were good...but OH MY GOD. THEY ARE FREAKING DELICIOUS. Sweetened with sucralose so no calories from sugar, they are dark chocolate so YAY ANTIOXIDANTS and almonds so YAY FIBER AND "GOOD" FAT.

#2. I pulled out my kickboxing "Group Kick" DVD (by Body Training Systems, I have a ton of BTS and Les Mills DVDs because my mum used to own a women's health club in MD...so she copied all the instructor teaching DVDs for me) and I remember years ago when I did this I could not make it through the whole thing for the first few times well... I MADE IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH (with a few breaks for water) but here's the kicker...my 120 pound roomie only made it to TRACK 6 before giving up and there are 10 tracks in the whole thing.

#3. I am so close to the 2-teens I can taste it. Hopefully after this period week it'll drop~.

Boo yah.

I can't even believe how nice it is!!!!! It's like 75 degrees out, sunny, and not a cloud in the sky!! Absolutely beautiful :) After all the rain we've had recently (and we're still dealing with flooded roads), this is gorgeous!!

I went to the gym this morning to keep reading my book! haha I have only about 45 more pages or so, so I should be done with it tomorrow definitely. I am at a really good part too in the trial. After riding the bike for an hour and doing some work with the weight machines, I went back and did an extra 30 minutes on the elliptical. My foot was feeling pretty good, until about the time I hit 20 minutes....so the last 10 minutes weren't all that fun, but overall it was a pretty successful gym outing.

I've decided to try to up my gym time some, especially on the weekends because I gained back about 8 or so pounds since the Olympics and I really want the scale to start moving in the right direction again. I weighed this morning and I am down two pounds from earlier this week...and I'm still dealing with TOM. So, I am definitely hoping for somewhat of a whoosh next week when TOM is gone. It would be nice to be back to my ticker weight finally!

And one of my most favorite people in the entire world wrote on my FB wall this morning and that kind of made my day :)

Sam- I know you like sushi but do you like wasabi? because blue diamond makes wasabi almonds that I swear buy and would probably trade my first born child for... they are amazing

Lissa and Taylor- Were soooo gonna be in onderland sooooon

Alana- that bootcamp/egg hunt sounds like a lot of fun

So I came over to the dark side and tried spinning yesterday and I did the whole thing and I did what the instructor said and I didnt cheat and my body is angry at me today...but a good angry... I hope the scales said 199 tomorrow or I'm throwing it away

I saw Clash of the Titans with the boy last night.... I enjoyed it and then I was talked into watching Alien movies when we got home...very interesting :)

hey guys! it's so beautiful out today!

greg came up yesterday. we went out to applebees (or crapplebees, my nickname for it.) i got the under 550 calories spicy shrimp diavolo. It was alright...a bit too spicy for me. I pretty much only ate the shrimp and a little bit of pasta, but I was full with that. They also finally got in MGD 64. WHOO HOO!! it tastes like watered down miller lite, but if you want a beer and to be good, MGD 64 is the way to go.

Today greg and I are going to go out and buy more easter crap. We've just been bumming around all day. We needed a day like this. We're making a mini easter dinner. Honey baked ham, pineapple stuffing, and mixed veggies. I'm so excited for pineapple stuffing!

I'm also down to 142.8 today from 144.6 yesterday. Looks like my whooosh wasn't done! haha!

OMGOMGOMGOMG

I tried on an Ann Taylor dress in a size 14 for sh*ts and giggles and I ZIPPED IT UP.

It wasn't a horrible fit, but still tight.

I couldn't believe it - I cried in the dressing room.

Very soon I will have gone from a size 24 to a 14.

Happy Easter/Passover!

I am hoping I can keep myself away from seconds of delish lamb and roasted potatoes...although there are worse things in the world for me I am hoping to only eat a normal size rather than my "OMG IT'S A HOLIDAY AND I MIGHT NOT EVER EAT THIS AGAIN. EVER." mode.

I am in charge this year of making dinner because..... my 33 year old brother and his wife have decided not to come over for Easter. At all. They have no children...and I think my brother thinks it is fun to his 23 year old sister do all the work for her widowed father. Let is not forget I put together Christmas, too....when they were out of town. I mean, I like being in charge of the food because any practice I can get cooking is good and I know what is going in it - but I'd like some help. /end rant

That being said I get to be in charge of the food that is made - which I like anyway so I am making a rosemary and garlic roast lamb, fresh reduced fat rolls, asparagus, roast potatoes and roast turnips -- for dessert an angel food cake with fresh strawberries and light vanilla ice cream.

I know I can't kill my progress having a normal serving of any of those - but I always have an urge to go crazy on holidays....OH OH and also I am not going to have ANY chocolate.

I love you girls. Thank you for all the support you have given me. I know I duck in and out of the chats but I *always* read them and all of you always inspire me to dig deeper and follow my heart.

Oh I am soooo behind on this week's chat! I'm going to go back and read through, but I don't think I'll have time for any personals. My birthday was a blast, we walked all around NYC for two days straight (so I don't feel guilty about the beers or the food I had) and then I was on my feet cooking, cleaning and setting up all day on Friday for my party. Then I wore heels all night, AND danced. So I don't feel too bad about drinking/eating then either! I didn't get that much water though, and I think today is going to just be a water-chugging day for me.

Have a happy Easter ladies!

ETA: Just skimmed through

Forest - I'm jealous of the Gossip Girl party! Love the dress!!

Shan - OMG OMG OMG I loooove those dresses, especially the pink one!!!

And I know it looks like the conversation is quite over, but I just thought I'd bring it up to say that isn't this forum meant to be for supporting each other on our journeys? :)

Oh, HAPPY EASTER, everyone! I just love Easter!

I really love this site. I do reading on it sometimes, and I've really learned a lot about health and nutrition and perseverance! I'll go on a kick and read for a week or something and be really accountable with myself, and then I take a week off and it goes downhill. I've been good with exercising, but my eating habits have not been great. I think I really want to start posting on here and get to know you all, and be accountable to YOU as well. So I'm gonna start posting on the weekly chat :) I'm going to attempt to learn everyone's names this time, so bear with me.

SO THAT being said, short re-intro; my name is Chris, I'm 22 (soon to be 23 next month!) My screenname is Everlasting because I believe in the everlasting love that our God has for us; I know I'm loved no matter what I do, or what I look like, or what I weigh. I'm studying environmental science at university, and I graduate in December (finally, it will make my undergrad 5.5 years). Though, I work in human services with kiddos with disabilities and I LOVE it. I want to be an occupational therapist someday.

I love being active... probably addicted to exercise. BUT, I have trouble with food intake. I will go through spurts of eating almost nothing, to binging, and I really need to get it in control. I love pop, but I'm trying to cut it out and so far I'm on day 4 of that.

Chele: I love to read books at the gym. People always look at me funny, but now that you said you do it too, I'm encouraged to go again and start a new book. :)

Platform: Happy late birthday! Glad you had fun in NYC! I would just LOVE to visit that city, but I'm terrified of going by myself. Post some birthday pictures if you have some?

Samantha: You are impressively close to your goal!

Taylor: I'm totally with you on the siblings ditching. It stinks. My little sister moved out and got married without even inviting my mum to the wedding and then moved across the country and doesn't communicate with the family anymore. Let me tell you, it is stressful, and the holidays were especially!!

NOW! I'm going to make my special brownie dessert for the fellowship meal today, and do some bellydancing while it's cooking! HAVE A GOOD AFTERNOON, ladies!

Mary - I'm so glad you had fun in NYC! What a great way to celebrate your birthday.

Haley - I think I might have to try taking classes at the gym. I keep seeing this kickboxing class and it's packed! Seems interesting. And there's early morning yoga (but it's at 8am :() That's sweet that you joined the spinning world though! I'm sure you kick butt at it.

Jess - take kickboxing. Its my absolute favorite workout. I am hoping i can go to my class tomorrow even though my finger isnt 100%. Its the sole reason I joined this other gym even though i already belong to one. I love it that much

platform - happy birthday!!! And NYC is a great way to celebrate

haley - how did weigh in go this morning?

chris - welcome! Is there a food plan that you try and follow or are you concentrating on just healthy eating in general? I have learned some great tips about food and new things to try on here and i am sure you will too.

how is it sunday already?! I guess i should clean and go for a run now before our cookout starts. Can we have a weekend do over??

Happy Easter to those who celebrate it! I just got back from my trip and it was good. Walked everywhere and got some laps in the pool. However, I just ate Easter dinner and didn't do too well. Lots of bread, lol. But back work tomorrow and back to the gym!

Alana- The sodium from my dinner last night did not make the weigh in go very well... so I guess I'll have to wait another week for onderland... boo hoo... also this easter dinner probably didnt help my case very much... its honestly been my first real off plan day in awhile and thats ok with me... last night I ate well but I hate sushi and ate late and drank a beer so I know the flucuations were bc of that

Jess- I have not a single intrest in yoga however my gym has a kickboxing class that is supposedly murder...I guess its really hard and its always full but I just dont love being on a time limit for when I need to get in the gym... keep the onderland door proped open for me...I'm trying to sneak in

Everlasting- Welcome... I only ever drink water now... I dont even think about other things...it will get easier

Question for the runners/those that get sore muscles from working hard:

How much more water should I drink and how many days of rest? My calves are very tight and sore, I was on my feet from Wednesday to Sunday walking and standing all day (which was good for my weigh in, getting very close to being in the 150s again - I'm at 163 now). And does soaking in epsom salt affect water weight at all? We can't absorb the salt in through our pores, can we?

And my Aunt and Uncle and their kids were over for Easter dinner and we got the details ironed out for my nanny gig in the summer (thank god, a job again). AND I found out that they don't have any clubs or teams or sports things to do like they have in the past, so I get to take them down the shore allll the time! Hooray! Beach, here I come! And I'm usually very active with them in the summer, they like playing tennis and taking walks and dancing and swimming.

Happy Zombie Jesus Day!!! [Sorry if that offends you, have a sense of humor]

My eating today actually wasn't horrible. My mom made a seafood pasta salad but I talked her into making it with whole wheat pasta. I had some ham. Then I went and got some low carb ice cream which was yummmyyy...

I just feel like I'm having a major sodium hang over. I haven't drank as much water as usual today and am definitely feeling it.

I'm glad to hear everyone had a nice day!

Mary - Not that I'm much of a runner, but I have found that rest days are very important. If I do C25K one day I definitely don't do it the next. The rest days are important. Also, I was having a bit of a shin splint (not full on) the other day and rather than running I got on the elliptical instead (Stella's suggestion) and was okay with that. I usually do the treadmill + bike... even if I am sore. So I would say... take a rest day and do something with less impact.

Also, I asked my parents their opinion on the epsom salt. They concurred it would be a very minimal amount so I wouldn't worry about it. It's not like you're drinking salt water.

I'm so not ready to return to work. Tomorrow is a teacher work day though so hardly anyone will be there. WHEEEE!!!!

Everlasting - I see a lot of people reading at the gym when I'm there. Some people read while on the elliptical, which I've tried and it makes me somewhat dizzy!!! haha The exercise bike is the best way for me to read...plus, it makes the time go by a bit quicker than just watching tv or listening to music. Welcome!!! :)

Tonight is opening night for the Red Sox and part of the opening ceremonies had this little 5 year old boy reciting (from memory) the speech that Herb Brooks gave to his hockey players before they played the Soviet Union from Miracle. He changed the hockey references to all baseball/Red Sox references and it was the absolute CUTEST thing I have ever seen!!! The little kid was even dressed in a sport coat and khaki pants and his hair was parted so that he looked a bit like Herb Brooks. He said the whole thing, including the "SCREW EM!" part. The Red Sox players absolutely lost it at that point. At the end, they were all giving knuckles to the little kid. I have never giggled so much....it was just so freaking cute!!! I really hope it makes it up on Youtube at some point :)

ETA....I found it!!! haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkqAErSitJM

Mary - Stretch. And eat a banana or something high in potassium to prevent muscle cramps. Water is important but you don't need to drown yourself in it. I think I consume about a gallon of water a day (so I spend half of my waking time on the potty. Sad, I know). And YES to rest. I think the max for people who are training to run long distances is to run 5 days a week, but that's not saying run 8 miles every day. Usually it's 2 long days and the rest are shorter. But if you're not accustomed to running, I'd say run one day rest one day. STRETCH though. Before and after.

Feral - Thanks for asking about the epsom salt! Tomorrow I'm hanging at home to work on classwork so I'll take a soak with it then :) I ended up not drinking that much water today, anyway - just my usual amount.

Jess72 - I did eat a banana :) I eat one as my morning snack! And I'm not training to run lol, just sooo sore after walking all over NYC for two days and then getting ready/partying it up Friday night. I figured the runner's would know what to do lol!

I saw an April Goals thread in the forum and I've decided to aim for 3-5lbs loss in April and I've pledged to not binge this month!!!!

BAH

Not as good with the food as I could have been...much better than I use to be...but I still need improvement in the "holiday eating" area...

I bought a pair of 14 jeans at Old Navy. I have not been this size since I was 15... and that was 8 years ago. Woah.

90 minute as$ kicking workout planned for tomorrow to get rid of the Easter bloat...

Hope you all had a hoppy day!
