Default Appropriate fashion is dictated by age sometimes. Would you wear this if...

Would you wear this if you were 35 or 36 years old (with the body and legs to pull it off)?

I found a romper in a store that I look great in! (similar to the one in this pic but not exactly); however, I'm 35 years old.

I am always worried about being the lady who "dresses to young" or is "trying to look young". I love trendy fashion, though! And I love the romper.

So.... as the title states: Would you wear this if you were 35 and could pull it off?

I'm 34. Even if I had the bod for this, I wouldn't wear it.

To be honest, "rompers" like that are for children to me.

It looks like it's been trendied up for maybe tweens, or really young teens at the most. Not quite as baby-ish as the pastel flower print ones I used to put my daughter in since it is in denim with a hip hugging belt, but still. That's the land of children's fashions to me and I'm not a young child or young teen.

A.

I'm 26 and even if I had a body for it I wouldn't wear it. Not because of my age but because I've never liked them. But that's just me.

Thanks for the input, you two!

I laughed at your saying it's for children, astrophe. I totally see what you are saying.

I have a serious shopping addiction and I'm very proud I didn't walk out of the store with the one I saw (it has straps and is a different color).

I kept saying to myself, "Well...I could wear it here or maybe there". Not sure I'd even have the courage to actually wear it outside. Maybe with my boyfriend...if I had one. :P

I say if you like it and can pull it off... WHY NOT?!

If you are worried about looking like you're "trying to be too young" than maybe you can just wear it when you go out. It's fun to dress up when you go out and if you like the outfit, I'd say it's a GO!!

I'm sorry. I just think it's cheesy. I don't have any objection to the idea of maybe shorts with some kind of strapless top and a cardi (check J.Crew, I'm pretty sure I saw this kind of idea there recently) but rompers are for children. To me, of course everyone should wear what the want and feel good in but realistically when you wear something that's "younger" than you are, you don't look younger. All it really does is call attention to the age gap between the item and the wearer, y'know?

I wouldn't. I actually think it's very, very cute, but I think it's very young looking. I think I *want* you to be able to wear it, because I like it

I mean, there's an exception to every rule of course (using the word rule loosely). It just means it would be difficult, but perhaps not impossible, to pull off. I think it might depend on the circles you run in. Maybe if they're very fashion-y.

JMO of course.

I actually was making fun of a Calvin Klein romper we got in at work just last night . . . I just do not care for the style at all. BUUUTTT, that's on anyone--I think 35 is the new 25 and there's nothing you should feel like you "shouldn't" wear.

I wear funky to simple stuff to dressy/classy/to whatever hits me! I am a stay home mom & a plain jane of a life so I pick my clothes for the day by the mood I am in.
LOL~Enjoy the new you & wear what you like~~!!!!

OH & p.s. I have been wearing alot of leggings here of lately & tights~that would loook so cute with a pair of fishnet tights~WOULD BE SUPER SEXY! & then add a choker necklace with a longer one draping down for that layered look and some large hoop earrings & a pair of denim heels~THAT WOULD KICK BUTT!

I am new here but I think that if you have the body for it, and it makes you feel good, then wear it! People can get over the idea that you are supposed to dress liek a grandma when you hit 35....Wear what makes you feel good!! DOnt worry about anyone else!

I'm 21, and I wouldn't. It's definitely not because I think you're too "old" for it; I'm all for people wearing whatever they think looks good. BUT I feel like that's such an out-there piece that people would be looking at the outfit and maybe thinking it the style was too young (and not because you're 35!! Like I said, I wouldn't wear it at 21) instead of looking at how gorgeous you are. I think you would get much more positive attention with that beautiful body in something a little...less.

HOWEVER, if you're in love with it and you won't forget about it until you get it, I think you should! Screw us! You could throw a little shrug on top and wear it out at night or just go for it all in if it'll make you feel sexy because that's all that matters.
