100 lb. Club - 199 ... again...
03-24-2010, 11:07 AM
I had got down to 198.2. THEN bounced up.... then went down... then UP UP UP to 209.4 (sodium) and then in four days shed period and sodium weight which equaled 10.4!!!!!!! pounds and am now back under 200. I am avoiding ANY AND ALL SODIUM until I am down around 190 ish. lol! I never want to see over 200 on that freaking scale again.
Think I had some huge issues surrounding 200 pounds? Oh I think so.
Just wanted to share...

I was missing you! Glad you are back and under 200! Now stay there :)
03-24-2010, 11:09 AM
and as a quick question... is there ANYONE who can put on sodium weight like I can? In two days I can put on 10 pounds EASILY in sodium. Have a ham dinner, some salty popcorn, some taco's and BAM sodium weight.
03-24-2010, 11:23 AM
I gain weight like that and not just from sodium... from sugar. I've gained 11 pounds in under a week. Six or eight pounds in a couple days. And for me it is VERY hard to get it back off. Even if I cut the sugar and salt, it takes like 2 or 3 weeks for it to go away.
03-24-2010, 11:55 AM
I really never have met anyone who can do that! LOL! You are funny. ;) I'm impressed with your attitude about it! And I guess, at least you know. That doesn't make it any easier though, does it?
But you're there and this time, I know it will stick. ;)

It makes it HARDER because SO MANY just normal dinners contain SO MUCH SODIUM. It makes family dinners hard: turkey dinner? weight gain. Ham dinner? weight gain. Spaghetti dinner anywhere but my house? Massive weight gain. Irritating I tell ya!!!
And you know it's sodium because why else can you gain 10 lbs in two days and then LOSE 10 lbs in four days! It's a quick fix but annoying.
And yes this time it will stick. Sodium=demon. lol!!!

Hi. I'm cfmama. I weigh ONE HUNDRED and some. Clearly I'm awesome.
03-24-2010, 02:35 PM
should I take that comment well or not? lol!!!
03-24-2010, 02:38 PM
Last week I was 8lb heavier than today. I can't of lost more than 2lb this last week. I don't normally carry so much water weight but then I don't normally eat as much salt food as I did last week. Was a bit worring to see 13 stones soemthing on the scales again!!!
03-24-2010, 02:38 PM
ps sodium doesn't do much for me one way or the other. What makes me gain weight is fat on my A$$ ahhahahaha
03-24-2010, 02:39 PM
should I take that comment well or not? lol!!!
lol WELL, always WELL!!!
03-24-2010, 02:43 PM
WTG tackling it right away! Good 4 U!!
03-24-2010, 02:53 PM
Before long 200 will be so far behind you that even water weight won't make you see that "2"! I will pick up 3 or 4 pounds from water weight but not TEN!
03-24-2010, 03:46 PM
Good Trazey! I was a bit worried. lol!
Yep. I am queen of sodium. normally NOT on my period I can pick up 3 or 4 lbs... but period? Oh I just SUCK that darn sodium back. Sucks.
03-24-2010, 03:48 PM
I gain weight in a hurry from sodium too. I was down to 221.2 one day and then the next I was back to 226! 5 pounds in one day :)
I'm still up to like 224, but that is still water retention from lifting weights. Whenever my muscles are sore (DOMS) I know the scale is going to be up several pounds.

Heh. 190 is my marker for when I'm going to stop freaking so much about sodium, too. I dream of soy sauce. No, I don't plan to flip out and go into an eating frenzy, but I cook a LOT of Asian food, and want to cry when I see the spouse cheerfully splash soy sauce all over his, while I'm too afraid of having one of my epic sodium gainbacks to indulge. So if the scale would just cooperate and give me my ten-pound sodium buffer, I'd be pretty freaking happy.
Still, look at you! South of 200 again. :)

I do sodium bounces too... Sodium and simple carbohydrates are a scale challenge for sure. I can put on up to five pounds in a day from just sodium if I am not careful, but fortunately that is a rare occurrence.
Welcome BACK to onederland!

I'm glad to hear that I'm in good company with OTHER sodium bouncers.
Now this is just a theory... but do you think people that START OUT heavier have BIGGER swings due to sodium etc? it appears that way to me!
03-24-2010, 07:14 PM
Given that our bodies are deeper into 'storage' mode than the average physiology, I could definitely see that being possible!
03-24-2010, 07:44 PM
I can easily put on 5-7 lbs of sodium weight if I eat salty food over a period of a few days and it's around period time, I will for sure put on at least 7 lbs. I'm so used to it now I barely notice. I just make a note that is I eat Chinese or popcorn or whatever the scale WILL go up!
03-24-2010, 07:47 PM
I don't think I've hit 10 lbs, but 5-6 for sure, doesn't take much to get there. Maybe I scare myself silly so I don't eat any more salt for the next few days so I never get to 10! lol!
Congrats on getting back into Onederland and keep going from here - that 188.5 milestone is going to be so amazing for you!!!

I consider myself lucky. No throwing things at the computer now, ok? :D
I'm about as regular as a man. I only wish I could LOSE like man!! :tantrum: I either gain two pounds throughout the day (from AM to PM) or I stay within a few ounces of what I weighed in the morning. Sometimes TOM may or may not make me gain weight. I have never experienced more than a 2 lb gain in a week from one morning to the next.
Now the down side is that I pretty much seem to stick to exactly the same weight for a very long time right down to the ounce!! Hey, I'll make a great maintainer! LOL!
03-25-2010, 10:41 AM
I think the most I gained in sodium weight was between 4 to 5lbs. And I thought THAT was nuts... but whoa! 10! Yeesh!
03-25-2010, 10:46 AM
Good point about the sodium - I will keep that in mind when I gain when I think I've eaten well one day!
03-25-2010, 11:29 AM
I am so with you on this one....taco bell a few tato chips, wham up 5 lbs. I was 165 yesterday, today I am 161. I am sure I am still carrying some sugar/salt, eating crap weight.
03-25-2010, 11:40 AM
I'd never critisize or throw things at the computer. We are all totally completely different... an experiement of ONE. So what concerns and changes MY body will not for others.
For example. I've lost 178 pounds in 18 months (as of Saturday). Calorie counting and exercising. I've OFTEN had huge swings of sodium. I've also had surgery during this time. Gall stones (that took 5 months to deal with) been on many vacations and trips etc. Someone else... might have dealt with these things differently or been unable to keep losing weight through them. But my body was receptive to what I was doing and kept dropping the weight. That does not mean that happens to everyone.
So what if I gain 10 lbs over a period of days? I can take that off easily... and I do.
It's nice to see I am in great company though!
