Good morning! :sunny: Time to get yourself out of bed and get ready for a fabulous day! Coffee's on and the teapot is on standby. Grab a cup and sit down to chat before the day gets away from us!
It's going to be in the 60s here with plenty of sunshine today. :) The girls and I discovered a patch of daffodils blooming in a sheltered spot yesterday afternoon, and they sure did lift our spirits! Only 2 more days til Spring officially arrives!
I have the morning off since it's my late day, and I have the second load of wash going already. I'll probably putz around here, doing some dusting and vacuuming, but I do need to run over to the supermarket for a few things, too. I plan to do my workout first, though. I'm consistently "running" 3.5 miles in 20 minutes on the Wii Fit Plus, and, for me, that's pretty amazing. :D I'm really starting to notice a difference in how I look, and my clothes are fitting so much better. I haven't gone off plan at all since Jan. 1st! Woohoo!

Me, swim and ski today. We're trying to get a trip to Utah in our plan for Sunday-Zion Natl Park. I have until noon today to cancel a reservation I made. I'm hoping our friends call to say they'll be avaliable. Our dog sitter isn't avaliable so they have to go. It just means I really need to plan ahead.

I've got a meeting this morning then in to the office this afternoon. Lots of activity going on around the proposed changes in the state budget. I'll get a full update (I hope) when I'm in the office. While I might find another job, as some people have suggested, the market is hopeless right now. I've actually been looking for 2 years and there have only been 2 jobs worth applying for in that time. Frankly I was over qualified for both. The other piece for me is seeing the support system dismantled. It's not about my job, it's about the support system for fragile families and child care providers. Okay, enough of that here.
I better go see the Wii. I'm sure it has plenty to say about my being gone for 4 days ;)

I didn't realize that job prospects were so dire in your area, and I really hope something can be done for the families who need support. :hug: So what are you going to plant in the garden besides peas this weekend? I want to get some planting done in the next week, too, and I'll have to check what I can plant right now. Is it too early for chard? I hope your day at the office goes well.

My new group of classes have started. This time I am taking business law and another economics class. I am enjoying the law class so far! LOL all those years of watching "law" tv shows has given me a heads up on some terminology!!! LOL
Did I tell you guys about the "contest" I entered. The radio show I listen to is offering a big prize for the "biggest loser" it is a free contest. I went and weighed in about about 2 weeks ago. I weigh in again June 1. I just entered for fun and more motivation to stick to being OP!!!

I'm spending the week getting started on SBD and preparing and freezing foods. I'm also getting in rest and exercise so that when I go back to my 9th graders, I'll be ready! :carrot:

So things are getting interesting here in Colorado. Sunshine again today then the precipitation starts. And it could be a lot! We had planned to ski half day tomorrow then drive half way home, finishing on Saturday. But now we will try to track the storm and if it is coming Sat, leave early tomorrow... it if is all day tomorrow, we will spend an extra day here. Of course the forecasts all conflict. Sigh. I guess it is not spring yet!

I just got reading the South Beach Dining Out guide and who knew that my favorite Thai meal, that I've been eating for years, is totally on plan!?! Dr. A mentions it by name even :) Since DW leaves me today for a week, I've kind of been eating more processed stuff as we haven't gone food shopping. Been making SBD friendly choices though and while the scale has me up 2 pounds, I know it's lack of water/TOM. So time to get more on that!

Scale said 132 today!!! I got off and on three times to check but it was still there!
Already cleaned the kitchen, got the kids to school, did two hours of exercise outside in the SUN, got the car washed and vacuumed out, cleaned the living room and dining room, made lunch, and about to finish up school with the kids and then clean out the truck and head out to martial arts for Connor. I am going to be POOPED tonight!!!

Chicken Pad Prik Khing (it's chicken, curry paste, green beans)! I thought it might be off plan because of the curry but it's NOT!!! Tofu Pad Prik Khing (or King) is also yummy.
Funny story: I had never had Thai food until I came to DC some almost 11 years ago. I didn't want to seem like I didn't know what I was talking about (oh, to be young again) so I ordered the funniest thing on the menu - being able to say Prik legitimately was hysterical to me. Turned out to be one of only three items I order to this day (satay and basil jae being the other two, both SBD friendly option as well!)!!!

I got up and exercised today. I haven't felt like exercising since my thyroid medication was cut down. But since it was added back, I don't have an excuse any more. It is amazing just how out of shape I am, but have time before beach weather.
It is an amazing 70 degrees out. I went to the library this morning and took out the SBD Heart Program. I don't have a heart problelm, but just want to see how it differs from the regular program. My weight is coming off so slowly only 6 lbs. but at least I am going in the right direction.

We're home, finally! The kids made it to bed on time and I actually have time to chat tonight before my 9:00 bedtime rolls around. Tomorrow is my pedicure and facial, right after I go get my new ID card. When Tom made Master Sergeant, I finally got the chance to get rid of my old ID card with the picture that got taken when I was about 8 1/2 months pregnant with Avery. Every time I pull that thing out of my wallet I laugh at how chubby my face looked! Funny story - when I got that card, they asked what my weight was (it's on the back of your ID) and I just stared at the clerk. I said, "Do you really want my weight NOW???" She laughed and said, "No, just your normal weight!" That one says 135 pounds, but now I get to go in tomorrow and proudly change it to 132! I hope I have time after my spa appointment to get the truck washed and vacuumed. OK, enough jibber jabber from me.
Linda, that is fantastic about your clothes fitting better! What a great feeling! I hope your day is sunny and beautiful! I did the car wash route, too. I took Tom's car today and got it filled up on gas and all nice and clean. Tomorrow I'm going to take the Tahoe to get prettied up. The kids had made an absolute mess in there so they spent about forty-five minutes this afternoon cleaning it out so I would be able to vacuum it tomorrow. Yuck - the things we found...
Debbie, Zion is one of those trips on our must-do list when we get back to the States. Tom's also never been to Yellowstone, but I went with his mom when we did a cross-country trip together. He wants to go there, too. We went to Lassen twice when we lived in California and Yosemite once and loved both!

Sharon, the thing about South Beach is that you will not see many huge quick losses, but what you will see (if you stay on plan, of course) is a slow and steady trend downward. It used to frustrate me to no end that I couldn't get to goal RIGHT NOW. But I've been hanging around this forum for about three years now and when I started here, Ruth was at about 210 pounds and now look at her. She is well under 200 and still moving down. It's seeing things like that - people making little changes and sticking to their guns and maintaining the losses that they have - that keep me motivated now. Yes, I want to get to goal. But I want to keep the weight off, not regain it and then have to lose it again. This is the plan to do that. A solid, healthy way of eating for the rest of your life. It's not a diet of deprivation; it's an eating plan that will set you up to have healthy habits and a strong body.

Got up early this morning and went for a bike ride with a friend. Its beautiful out today-- so warm that I can wear short sleeves outside! Heading over to meet a friend who goes to the local university tonight and then meeting up with my youth group. The sunshine makes me so happy!

just a quick one...
haven't been here for a couple days.. well at least not posting. i'm feeling quite a bit better than i was.
weighed in, absolutely NO scale loss for 2 weeks of Ph1. i know you wonder how that could be if i was doing it right, but thats my body for you. a lot of that is generally water weight anyway so i'm just going to assume i didn't lose water weight. cuz i was on plan AND exercising (a few walks) and last fall I only lost 8 lbs total in the first couple weeks so this doesn't surprise me.
i KNOW something changed because my pants fit differently. so all in all, i'm not too upset. i just know it's going to be much more difficult for me than most ppl.
luckily st. patricks day fell on the end of my ph1... so i DID go off plan last night and got schmammered. i stayed away from the beer but did have a little juice in my drinks. the bartenders were VERY nice to me though... all my drinks were more liquor than juice... which would explain the extensive vomiting last night. lol it's ok though, ihaven't done something like that since my birthday party 6 years ago.

Kari, I didn't lose anything on a two week Phase 1 the second time I did it either. I was flabbergasted. BUT I kicked the cravings, and that is really where the treasure of Phase 1 is. Yuck on your night last night! Maybe don't do that again!

Ok I did my exercise. That video kicks my booty!! It is 3 min cardio, 2 min strength, and 1 min abs for 3 rotations plus warm up and stretches. I already feel it in my abs.
