Default Anxious -- need a little support!

Had physical fri, ultrasound yesterday to check on my ovaries. I'm a PCOS patient and haven't had a scan in years but doc thinks I may have a cyst flaring up/breaking. This would explain my recent weird feeling of sharp pain on the side, messed up cycle, crazy bloat, etc.

So I'm anxious for the report to come in today or tomorrow to my doc office and the doc to call to explain it to me.

The best news is that is WAS a crazy cyst flaring up, and I'll get over it, hohum, life as usual at a PCOS patient.

But you know how it is with these things -- you start wondering what OTHER doom & gloom thing it could be.

Argh.

I could use some hugs and kind words while I'm waiting this out.

Thanks!
A.

Fellow PCOSer here. Fortunately I've never had a problem with the cysts other than that they hurt when I ovulate. But I can offer support! I know that hurts!!

When were you diagnosed? I was diagnosed Feb. 5, 2006. It was one of those dates I'll never forget. It was a major "aha" moment for me when I first realized there was a reason getting this weight off was extra hard!

Thanks, gang! I'm still waiting... trying to not think too much about it.

@Eliana--

I knew there was something wrong from childhood with the AN on my elbows and knees, the skin tags, then again with the weird cycles in my teens, and crazy weight in college.

But the formal PCOS dx came in late 2002 when we were trying to get pregnant.

It wasn't so much an "Aha!" moment as it was "Finally! A doc BELIEVES me when I say something is totally wrong and can link all these things together!"

A.

I was clueless until we were trying to conceive baby number 3. Fortunately the first two were easy, but I wasn't ovulating or menstruating for baby number 3. I'd been complaining about crazy weight gain with baby number 1 and was told some women just gain weight, get used to it. Then when I complained that I wasn't menstruating, I was told I was in early menopause...at THIRTY. So yes, glad a doctor finally BELIEVED me.

I have PCOS as well. I hope everything is fine. It can be a little scary not knowing what is going on in your body.

Another PCOS chick here. I'm sure it's just a cyst and everything will be fine. What my doc usually tells me is that if I am actually feeling pain then I probably have no REAL worries.
