Sonoma Diet and the Mediterranean Diet - Sonoma/Mediterranean Weekly Thread Mar 15-22, 2010View Full Version : Sonoma/Mediterranean Weekly Thread Mar 15-22, 2010 CardboardCutoutCat 03-15-2010, 06:53 AM New week, good luck :luck2you: CardboardCutoutCat 03-15-2010, 08:18 AM This week will be a bit more challenging for me than usual, because Mum's coming to stay for 2 weeks tomorrow so I'm sure there will be wine and restaurant food thrown into the week. Also, it's St Patrick's day on Wednesday and this is a big day for Irish people. The tradition is to take the day off work and go out and get absolutely hammered but I will not be doing that this year. So most likely it will be a meal out somewhere after work, and a few drinks. I'm really going to have to try to stay focused for the next two weeks. Last time Mum was here I think I put on about 5lbs. I have to remind myself how disappointed I will be in myself if I completely fall off the wagon. Thankfully Mum is on a health kick at the moment so hopefully there wont be that much alcohol and we'll get out for some long walks. I have done this before and was wondering if anyone else has and if you could offer some advice? CardboardCutoutCat 03-18-2010, 05:03 PM Hello! Jesus, worst hangover of possibly my whole life today. Remember last week I was saying how it's tradition to take the day off work and spend all day getting hammered, but there was no way I was doing that? Well, that's exactly what I did end up doing. Booked the day off and went out to celebrate. Twelve hours drinking guinness, and beer. And all I had eaten was a greek salad for lunch beforehand. Was a brilliant day. Being Irish and used to it, usually I can handle a hangover, but not today. I couldn't even keep water down. Thankfully I've come out the other side of it alive. On a good note, I'm in the Maltese news today!! http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20100318/local/st-patricks-day-make-merry-and-drink For a few seconds in the last 10 seconds, on the right LOL So here's yesterday's and today's abysmal admissions - Yesterday Greek salad 10,000 pints of guinness Today Garden salad and wholemeal roll chocolate wafer Terrible! Back on the wagon from tomorrow. Hope all are well :) Sarah CardboardCutoutCat 03-18-2010, 05:05 PM Ping, My advice - Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start again. You have only failed if you give up. Hugs to you and keep coming back!   Sarah ping 03-19-2010, 08:05 AM Thanks CCC!! Love the hat This morning I was back down to 131. I think I just need to get really serious about this--for many years if I wanted to drop 10 I just did it but I guess age makes it harder. At least on this diet I am not gaining and am still eating great plus it is so nice to have you all to talk with! b oatmeal, skim milk l salad d chicken something from my new cookbook CardboardCutoutCat 03-20-2010, 04:45 AM Here's yesterdays - Bowl muesli with light yoghurt Greek salad Some antipasto 4 white wines and 2 spritzers Exercise - 2 hour walk Will update later with todays CardboardCutoutCat 03-20-2010, 11:25 AM Here's todays, trying to get a normal eating pattern back - B Toasted ww sandwich with laughing cow light and tomato S Bowl fruit and fibre, low fat yoghurt L Toasted ww sandwich with laughing cow light and tomato S 2 pears, a satsuma, some grapes D Barbeque salmon salad 1 hour walk petra65 03-20-2010, 06:48 PM I didn't fall off the face of the earth-just some busy days. INCREASE this week ! I'm not beating myself up though, (anymore, I was raging inside when I got off the scales this morning) TOM is coming and I even look bloated and water retentiony. Also not forgetting the massive alcohol blowout on Wednesday, and every action has a reaction so it's not like it wasn't going to do some damage. Onwards and downwards as they say :) B: Bowl fruit and fibre, low fat yoghurt L: Broccoli soup and ww toast with light cheese spread D: Smoked salmon salad, bowl of sugar free jelly S: Apple, Pear Exercise - Hour walking. Hoping to get back to the Wii next week when my left foot is less painful. petra65 03-21-2010, 08:41 PM Not my best eating day but no disasters either. I've taken to making my own bread in a bread machine and had a few slices of some nice warm whole grain bread fresh out of the machine today. B: whole wheat buttermilk pancakes, sugar free latte L: 2 eggs, bacon, slice of whole wheat buttermilk bread S: couple slices of whole wheat buttermilk bread (is their a theme here?) D: strawberries and mascarpone cheese Believe it or not, this really wasn't that bad a day nutritionally-around 1700 calories, 21 grams of fiber and 72 grams of protein. About an hour of assorted Wii activities. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
