Default Superskinny, Thin, Voluptuous or Heavy Set??

I'm always fascinated by people with the same height but vastly different goal weights.

I find it interesting how different people can be when it comes to their preferred body size.

For example, I don't think "superskinny" is the body type for me. I think at 5'8" I'd look sickly at anything less than a size 8 (it's a very personal thing, though...this is just my preference). Also, I kinda like being thin but having thighs and booty...oh, and my eternal DDD boobs.

Currently I believe I'm thin with nice girlie parts. ...even though these girlie parts are a lot smaller. Someone actually called my butt "tiny". I loved that! If I'm honest I think a big part of my goal was obtaining a cute butt. lol! My size 18 butt was NOT cute. It's cute at a size 10, tho.

What's also interesting is how frame size plays into this whole thing. I mean, 2 people could have the same height with different goals weights but both are trying to be superskinny or thin or whatever.

Maybe I'm the only one who finds this stuff interesting. lol! But, I have to admit that in the beginning I sometimes second guessed my own goal when I saw ladies at my height having goal weights well beneath mine. I always had to remind myself that we're not looking for the same body size.

Anyone else have these thoughts? At your goal are you interested in being superskinny, thin, sort of voluptuous or heavy-set?

im currentley 5'6 220 and a size 16 i think i look chunky right now not grossly fat but def no where near fit so im chunky further proof to me is that im currently in size limbo alot of stores cut off at 14 and plus size 16 somehow fits diffrent than size 16 in regular stores so very few stores cater to my size right now ( which hopefully ill be out of this soon anyways im just glad to not be in plus size stores anymore ! )

but i too am amazed at how different our goals are considering were all starting out in such a familiar place .... id like to maintatin a curvy physic my lowest adult weight was a size 9/10 at about a 155 lbs it wasnt perfect but it was my happy size im aiming for that again ... skinny is not in the cards for me

first, Cali Doll, you look FANTASTIC!! Congrats!

Second, it's so hard to figure out which bodies fit what size clothes. I'm not even close to a size 16 yet I'm only 5 lbs more than Chunkey Monkey and I'm an inch taller. So people can definitely be the same size but have very different bodies, and what looks good on one 5'8" person at 160 might leave someone else looking too skinny or too big.

Personally, I'm not aiming for "skinny" but I'm an apple, or really more of an inverted triangle, with broad shoulders and rib cage, big boobs and thick waist. So if get down to a 14 in tops, I'm likely to be an 8 or so in pants. I'm currently in 2X shirts and even a 3X in some still fit just fine. But in pants, I'm a misses 18/XL, but they have to be stretchy so they'll fit around the waist without being miles too big in the hips and butt. I expect to have a similar size differential even when wearing much smaller sizes.

I plan on being curvy at my goal weight, I'm an hour glass(possibly a pear) and I just don't see my curves ever going away. I'm OK with that as long as everything gets smaller and I'm as healthy as I can be, I'm cool!

I'm definitely aiming for voluptuous *spelling*...my husband loves me thick, and I think he'd be a tad bit depressed if I got "skinny"...plus, I love my curves! My hips, butt and boobs are all very womanly, very attractive to me...its the thighs and stomach I don't like and want to be rid of...

Peanutsmom704, thank you!!!!!!!!!!

It's interesting reading everyone's thoughts and opinions.

Mystyblue85
, I also like feeling voluptuous...but skinny at the same time. :P Having a small waist is important to me (I'm NOT a fan of muffin tops on me). I like having thighs but I also like the diamond/star between my thighs.

I think I'm kind of particular and weird and quirky about this whole thing. :-).

Cali-- I LOVE your pix. You look so slim! We're the same height, and I always used to weigh around 160 before I got fat. I thought I looked fat then, but that's because I was messed up.

I am astonished that people our height will weigh 130 or so. I think they look good, but I think I have too big a frame to weigh that much.

With 10-15 pounds more, I'd be voluptuous. 10-15 pounds less, I'd be thin. I like being in-between.

I'm five two and a size 18/20. Its my goal to be around a 12 and about 150 pounds give ot take. Any smaller than that and I would also look sickly skinny. I might be 200 pounds right now but I look like I weigh MUCH less than I actually weigh. When I was 130 pounds my face was so sunkin in and hollow it was terrible, much less when I was 92 pounds (that was when I was 18, I'm 33 now).

So I'd rather be 150 pounds, a size 12, healthy, and work towards acheiving a toned body instead of a skinny one.

My goal is to look healthy. I don't know what size that might be achieved on my frame or how much loss it will require. I do think that my goal of 150 will be revised once I get out of the 200s. I just picked it arbitrarily because it was half my starting weight and within the normal BMI range. Being very large framed and naturally well muscled, I suspect 150 would have me looking sickly.

I'm getting so toned that I'm a full 10 lbs. heavier at the same size than I was before. In another month of working out and another ~5 lbs., I'll be a size 10, and solid! My goal is to look slender. Because of how I carry my weight, I'll probably be an 8 at 155 lbs., which seems like a lot of weight for 5'4" and is 15 lbs. more than I was when I was an 8 before and was flabby and not toned. Hooray for muscle!

I am 5'8" and my goal weight is an ambitious 135 (though I'd be happy at a bit higher than that). That is because I have a small frame, and I am not curvy at all. The lack of curves means that I have a rather thick waist in proportion, so to fit into some of my favorite size 8 clothes I need to get down to that. The waist is always the first thing to get tight on any of my clothes.

I weighed 135 about 10 years ago, and I was happy with how things fit me then.

I am also 5'9". I started at 270. I put 165 because I was afraid to put any lower but they say I will be "in heathy range". I have become obsessed with trying to find out what I will look like. Heck I haven't seen under 200 since jr. high.

BTW Cali Doll you look smoking hot! LOL

I'd love to be voluptuous, but I'm very apple shaped. I think the only way to get rid of my perpetually pregnant-looking tummy (I've never even BEEN pregnant) is going to require sacrificing a portion of my 'girly parts.' My butt actually has stayed pretty nice and curvy through my weight loss so far, but the boobs have seen some unfortunate shrinkage.

I'd like to at least get my belly small enough to allow me to shop for pants in the juniors department. Regular pants are shaped all wrong for my height, and the petite stores have a limited selection.
