Did this place slow down?
Is it just me or have the posts slowed down? Is it that post January thing do you suppose?
I'm so grateful to the newbies!! You guys are motivating. The energy level leaps upward when people are just starting. I say a small prayer each time I "meet" a newbie that this is one that will see it through.

I was thinking the same thing this morning. Not that I'm not equally as guilty for being a little mia (hello new semester)...but I think for most people, its the post-resolution situation.
I'm trying to convince myself that all the newbies are just happily moving forward with their plans...

Gosh, I wouldn't even be able to tell you.
I was on here years ago, then disappeared, now I'm back. So I'm sure lots has come and gone since then.

I'm still here! And it totally doesn't count that I did this three years ago, lost, regained and came back in January to start losing again, lol.
Seriously, though, it's going so much better this time around. Having a therapist helps!

I was thinking the same thing. I sometime try to lurk more because I feel odd responding to absolutely everything. Y'all are stuck with me!
For those of you out there lurking, please dive in!! I love reading new threads even if the ideas are things we've discussed before. Everyone has such a different viewpoint that it makes it interesting.

Oh definitely love the different viewpoints even on things that have been discussed before! I'm not sure we could come up with something that hasn't already been discussed.
I think the energy of people just starting out is contagious. We need more of it.

It kind of ebbs and flows. We tend to get more newbie restarts around the beginning of each month and the middle lulls. It all just depends.
I know I read a lot on here but don't have much to say. My weight loss is continuing, but at a snail's pace with this pregnancy, so I am a boring, uninspiring participant right now
I'm also thinking about some posters who have dropped off the map for a few months - it worries me when people are silent, that almost always means they're backsliding and it breaks my heart

I've only been here since middle of February and I've even noticed there seemed like a lot more activity when I first joined. I know some people I first talked to on here have been MIA and I just had to assume they've fallen off the bandwagon. Sad. I wish they'd come back. I know you guys welcome with open arms no matter what the past has done.

Yes...it does slow down.
I heard on TV that a large number of folks who start trying to lose weight at the first of the year quit within six weeks. That's usually by Valentine's Day.
That's the truth. Glad we are all still here!

I'm still here. I always read this board because I could conceivably lose 100 pounds, and I'd still be in a healthy weight range, but I don't know if it would be a healthy weight for me, and I can't remember ever being that weight. Anyway, makes me feel like I don't belong on this board, but I do have a significant amount to lose. I refuse to give up though, so y'all are stuck with me, too!

I'm still here. Ok, so I only got here in February, but I'm in it for the long haul. I've been really busy at work and with my son's Cub Scout pack so I don't get to post as much as I'd like.

every now and then, I end up in an old thread - like I'll somehow land on a 2009 chat thread or something. It's a little sad and scary to see how many names are completely unfamiliar, and the people had just a small amount of posts.
Not that they can't be losing weight without participating on 3fc, but I suspect the majority of 3fc drop outs are most likely not still on their weight loss plan.
So it's definitely a wake up call for me. I keep signing up for these different challenges as a way to stay committed to being here down the road!

If it weren't for 3FC I think my chances would be considerably lower for continuing this and actually making myself go to the gym. Even today, when I'm feeling gross and bloated (too much sodium last night I think), I still come post and read. Yes, I may be a up a pound or so, but I remind myself (by looking at my WI threads) of how much I've lost so far. I love you guys. *tear* Hahaha.
