I have been awake since 3am and decided to get out of bed and internet shop for Christmas....It is boring with DH gone..SD#2 has been up with me soo we have been playing dolls all morning!!!
It has been quiet on the boards this weekend!!!Everyone have a safe and fun holiday!!!!!
09-01-2002, 10:53 AM
It's a :rain: today!! :( I was hoping to bring a bunch of stuff over to Mom's house today, that was in the baby's room, but I can't if it's raining, because it has to go in the p/u. Might be able to bring some boxes over in the car, but I have a table and DH's drafting table that will have to wait. I got most of the room cleared out, and the oriental rug that we had in there vacuumed and rolled up.
RR- Hope you're surviving w/o DH there. Think I may have felt a little something while I was in bed this AM. Tried to feel again, but didn't. I guess one of these days he's just gonna whack me?!
Have a great day all!!
09-01-2002, 01:07 PM
hi all! I'm back.:hypno: Glad to be home - a million things to do!
Karen - hooray on the smaller size pants!:lemon: And yeah for doing the curves so much!
Lauren - sounds like you are enjoying planning for the :bb: and doing some shopping! ~ I think I heard Atlanta has been having a drought, and there's a town in North Carolina that hasn't had rain in like 5 years - places you might want to visit! ~ You were correct about Dry Ice - what a memory!:chin:
Greek - glad you had such a nice relaxing vacation.
Liz - very interesting about the personal trainer. I sure wish there was someone qualified at my gym. ~ Glad you enjoyed the movie! I loved it. ~ Happy Birthday!:hb: This weekend, right?
If anyone ever goes to the theater, you should see Mamma Mia - I highly recommend it - we had such a good time - it was awesome. Very fun.
Jul - Cool that you want to check out a Dry Ice store! I'm wondering if you're in St. Louis this weekend. The Galleria is the place to go if you haven't left yet.
Elisa - Happy Birthday and Anniversary!:gift: Late, I think.
Tech - I did my baseline mammogram at 35 also. Not a big deal.
LaHopeful - Welcome. !! Congrats on your losses so far. Good luck moving. So nice to have new faces here!
RR - just ignore those mean comments if you can. People just don't think sometimes. Enjoy your pregnancy.:cloud9:
OK, gotta run check on the laundry! Great to be back ~ have a super week all ~ and a nice holiday.
ps - can you believe it's SEPTEMBER??
09-01-2002, 08:19 PM
i'm still packing away for the move and dying to order a pizza :o so i did a little research and found this. something that made me decide not to order a pizza
hope everybody is having a great holiday!
09-01-2002, 09:22 PM
La----Hmmmmm..smart move on saying "NO" to the pizza!!!!Thanks for the info!!!!Good luck on the moving!!!!
Rabbit--I agree with people being soo mean!!This is the happiest time in my life and I will ignore it(ok..try to)..Of course, the wild child moving and playing in the tummy from 9pm until I got out of bed at 3am must slow up..Does this activity at night mean she will be up at night when she arrives in person??????DH cant even talk to me at night or she will wake up and move to the left to hear him..It is the wildest thing!!!!I loved the pink blanket on the smiley!!!!
09-01-2002, 11:11 PM
Hi guys. Wow, I have been such a slug this weekend. All I have wanted to do is sleep. Guess I must need it, otherwise I wouldn't be doing it. I think the weather doesn't help. It's been rainy and dreary all day. And COLD!! I'm glad since our AC went out. DH pulled it out of the wall and tried to fix it today but no go. Guess we are going to have to wait until next spring to get a new one.
Hope you guys are having a great weekend.
09-02-2002, 04:57 AM
Good morning everyone!
Just got back to the office after a very nice and exciting weekend. I went to our place (where we have the holiday apt) to see my dad, and on Sunday we decided to go for a ride. Now I know this very nice beach, that only has 4 villaís and a dirt road for access, so I decided Iíd take them there. As both dad and his girlfriend love going out into nature, this was exactly what they loved. The beach, (about 300 yards in a cove) has blue waters and is surrounded by rocky hills and pine trees. They loved it (of course) and I also did some snorkeling (1 Ĺ hours of it, so I worried them). Just as I was ready to go back to the beach, I saw these shards sticking out of the seabed at about 3 Ĺ metres, and although I wasnít wearing my flippers, I managed to dive them up. (KarenK, come scuba diving HERE!!). They turned out to beÖ.about 2500 year old pot shards from an amphora (kind of storage jar)! AAAH! I actually studied Art History and Archaeology so you can imagine what that did to me. So I looked a bit further and found various pot shards, a little above the beach too. I guess there must have been a (fairly large) settlement there, and very possibly a small harbour as the area behind the beach is flat, fertile and the whole region was well populated back then anyway. I am now thinking about when to mention this to the Archaeological Service, but as they all are incompetent, bureaucratic, greedy, stupid :censored:. I want to look around some more when I have the chance to see if I can locate the actual village (although I think I might have pinpointed it. Doesnít it make you feel like Indiana Jones?! (nahÖ).
Lucky me the shards are just that and not smt. valuable, because the laws on the subject here are pretty strict.
LA, I think your plan is very ok and as it works for you, even better. Good on not going for the pizza! You seem to have your portions under control and everything, too! I also use protein drinks (pure whey or egg protein with skim milk, itís like a milkshake, low in fat and cals, about 200 per glass, and it really fills you up for a while)
LA, and everyone, about meeting on line, I think itís fine and people that look upon it as being a strange way to meet, who cares about them really? It's a good a place as anywhere else! The only thing I agree you should be careful about, is where (if) you are going to meet. Public places where you do not come regularly (so If you donít like the guy heíll not find you again and bother you) with lots of people about are best. If you feel like eating out would make you feel uncomfortable, meet for a drink or a fair or zoo (always good for laughs).
RR, donít be depressed, DHB will be back in NO time, just keep yourself busy and the timeíll pass. If you feel up to it, maybe try to tackle smt around the house so you can show off to DH when he gets back. The anticipation will keep you high.
Welcome Rabbit, nice to see you again!

Just pulled up. We had a great show in St Louis! This show is always one of our best. Rabbit, I didn't make it to any malls...I was too busy selling! I did look up the website for your stores. Its always fun to know a little more about the people you visit with all the time.
Time to unload the truck, pick up the dog, and give everyone a good long bath!! - jul
09-02-2002, 05:28 PM
good afternoon everybody!
it is so hot here this weekend. i can't believe it. at midnight last night it was still 76 degrees. this morning at 8am i woke up sweating and it had to be at least 90. it was up to 108 by 11:30am. i'm melting...... :hot:
GG your trip sounds great! i'm terrified of the ocean though. i love the beach and taking walks near the water. i'd even walk out up to my calves or so. but nobody could ever talk me into going IN to the water all the way. i've always had this tremendous fear of drowning. plus the salt water probably wouldn't be good for my hair. at least that's how i rationalize it. :D i've always wanted to visit greece, though. i spent 3 weeks in europe 2 years ago. i wanted to try to swing by greece after italy but i couldn't afford it. maybe someday though!
for now i'm just going to kick back and watch days of our lives, drink my home-made mocha frappuccino and enjoy the holiday.
hope you're all doing well!
09-02-2002, 08:22 PM
hello everyone. :tomato:
Having a great time being home again - wonder if I'll ever feel caught up though?? DH & I bought some paint today though - house really needs painting - so I'm very excited about that.
Tomorrow A.M. have to have 2 crowns done at the dentist office - :ziplip: - not looking forward to that. I broke a tooth about a month ago eating popcorn at the movies. Lovely.
LA - Hooray for saying no to the pizza!:tape: ~ Wow on the 108 degrees.
RR - my ds was not as active as what you are experiencing! Ofcourse I was also only 19, our bodies behave differently then!
Greek - what a great weekend for you!
Jul - Hooray for the great show!:cb: ~ Sorry you didn't make it to the malls.
OK, better run.

Been a busy weekend around my place. Saturday I cleaned out some of the baby's room. DH took down the pool and fence around it. Sunday I cleaned a little and then we went to Mom's for dinner. Today we went to Buy Buy Baby and checked things out. Wrote down a bunch of stuff that we want. We'll probably register at Babies R Us though. My SIL told me yesterday that we need to get going and register soon...afterall, as of today my countdown clock says 4 months, 14 days!! Then we went to the Floor Superstore and got a nice remnant piece of berber carpet and some padding for 100.00. I didn't want to spend quite that much, but it was one of the less expensice pieces. And I like berber too. It's off white with alot of medium blue and tan in it. It's not too dark, but it'll look nice with some blue accents, like maybe a valance or something. We were gonna try and do firetrucks, since DH is a volunteer firefighter, but all the bedding and stuff we found is ridiculously expensive!! Anyway, we came home, I mopped the bedroom floor, let it dry, then we put the padding and carpet down. What a difference it makes already.
Hope everyone's having a great weekend!
Rabbit- Good luck with the tooth tomorrow. :D And have fun painting.
LA- WOW, hope you're keeping cool there!!
Jul- Welcome back! Hope you enjoyed your bath! I wish I had a bathtub!
GG- ...or shall we call you Indiana Jones!! Sounds like some great finds!!
Karen- Doesn't this cold weather suck?! Argh...I've had it with rain!!
Have a great evening all!
09-03-2002, 09:48 AM
Hi everyone!! I can't believe the holiday weekend is already over. :( I had a great one. DH arranged for us to go on a 3 hr eco-kayak tour on Sat morning for my b-day. It was so much fun!!! We went around a small island that is a bird sanctuary and there were tons of baby pelicans on it then we went over to an inlet where there were lots of manatees. Everyone got to pet them -- rub their belly and tickle their nose. It was the best!! I had always wanted to that. Now we really want to buy a kayak. There's lots of protected areas around here where we can't take the boat and it would be perfect. Sunday morning I went out fishing with DH on the boat. I caught my first redfish - 23" and it put up a good fight. We had him for supper last night and it was yummy!! :D The rest of the weekend was pretty quiet. We rented some movies and had nice dinners at home. We got some good quality time together.
GG, that is so neat that you found that stuff!!! I love to dive/snorkle and I've always dreamed of finding a bit of history like that but have never gotten that lucky.
Rabbit, welcome back. As you can see no journal posting since you've been gone. I'm gonna start today though -- time to get really serious. I'm meeting with the PT on Friday now to go over my new weight training plan. I need to hurry up and lose a few more pounds before the holiday season is here.
LA, wow!! I can't believe it's still that hot there. That's worse than FL. Luckily we're still getting afternoon storms so it's keeping our temps around 90. Don't be scared of the ocean. You have a higher chance of getting struck by lightening than getting attacked by something in the ocean (or so they say)
Jul, glad you're back. It sounds like you were really busy.
RR, too funny about the baby reacting to DH's voice. How strange is that? It sounds like she's going to be Daddy's Little Girl. :D
Lauren, it sounds like you are really busy getting things ready. Even though I don't want kids of my own I love hearing about what you and RR are going thru. I even spent most of yesterday watching the TLC's "A Baby Story" marathon and I always tear up when the baby's are born. But no way in heck do I want to go thru that!!
Have a great week everyone. I'm gonna start the journal post if anyone is interested come over and join me.
09-03-2002, 05:04 PM
Had a doctor's appt. this AM. Everything was fine. Baby's heartbeat is in the 140's, my BP was perfect: 126/70, and the Dr. was a b*tch. Everytime I go there, I get frustrated with them, they have no time for me. There's 7 Drs. in the practice that they're rotating me through and I always make my appts. early, like 8:30-9:00, so they're not soo busy. I never wait long, but they rush me through like there's 20 people in the waiting room, waiting to see them!! :mad So when I came home, I got the phone book out and called a midwife. There's one in the building right next to my Drs. office. It's a midwife and a Dr. I made an appt. for a consultation for next Tuesday night. Everyone keeps telling me that maybe that's what I need, because they take the time to talk to you, listen to you, and answer your questions. They will be there with you from start of labor through leaving the hospital. I don't know if a midwife is for me, I'm pretty traditional, but the more I read, the more I think it may be. I talked quite awhile on the phone to the girl that answered and I told her about my low tolerance for pain/fear of needles, and she said that probably my fear of needles will outlive my low tolerance of pain, because that goes away the instant the baby is born. I think she's right, because I can't even begin to imagine getting an epidural.
I think I'm feeling kicks now too. Last night on the computer, I think I felt one around my waistline, then later a little lower, so he's doing flips in there or something!! DH is soo funny, he's dying to feel a kick!! Poor guy...
Liz- I missed most of the day of A Baby Story, but I did see quite a few episodes of Maternity Ward last night. I love both shows, I could watch them non-stop!! I usually cry at almost every birth too! Sounds like you had a great :hb weekend!
Have a great evening all!
09-03-2002, 06:34 PM
I survived another dentist appt. The 2 crowns, the cutting of my gums, the post put in. Whew!:yikes: I'm just glad it is done for now (for a few weeks anyway, but this was the hard part). So tonight I'm having soup. Made myself some homemade soup today. (also made ds some cookies to send to school :cookie: ~ he'll be happy to receive those!).
Lauren - have fun preparing the baby's room!:) Cool about the kicks!
Liz - sounds like you had a fun birthday weekend! ~ Scarey  to think about the holiday season - I really messed myself up during that time last year.
hello to everyone else! have a great day.
09-03-2002, 07:18 PM
Hi all. I'm at school so this will be quick.
Lauren: cool about Petey kicking around!! My SIL had a midwife and someother kind of lady who is there to do whatever you want....rub your back, etc to calm you down during the labor. She liked it but she also likes to be the center of everyones attention so the more people she could have there to pet her the more she would like it!! :) (In case you can't tell we don't get along!!).
The eating has been out of hand this weekend. I think I must have decided that since I'm working out I deserve to eat!! Had a long talk with self and am now getting back on track!
OK, gotta go. Here comes the teacher.
09-03-2002, 11:25 PM
good evening everyone!
well it's slightly cooler today. probably only 100  but the weatherman said it should be in the 80s near the the end of the week. i can't believe i'm praying for 80s! i'm such a wimp. i love winter. bring it on!
karen -- are you the one who goes to curves? do you have any info on that? i'm moving closer to one and i was considering it. how much does it cost? i've heard you can pay per session or per year. or maybe it was per month. i can't remember. must be getting old!
rabbit -- you're so brave. i'm such a baby. i have this problem with one of my teeth where it's hypersensitive to anything cold passing over it. i've been chewing on the right side of my mouth since last december because i don't want to go to the dentist :sorry: he's pretty sure it's just a tiny crack in the tooth that needs to be sealed up. i should just go and have it done already!!
lauren -- i'm glad everything is going well with the baby! i hope you get your doctor/midwife situation worked out. it is such a drag when you don't feel you're getting the answers you need. doctors get so jaded after the years go on, i would imagine. it's too bad, really.
liz -- your weekend sounds great! i've never been fishing. i can't even kill a spider, let alone a fish :o but some friends of mine go every weekend practically. they can't get enough of it!
as for me, i ate too much pasta today. i'm on carb overload! i just couldn't bear eating hot foods this weekend so i made a cold pasta salad which i finished for dinner tonight. tomorrow it's back to the hot proteins. :D
hope you're all doing well and having a great evening. back to packing for me. i'll be moving a week from thursday. i can't wait!
09-04-2002, 06:08 AM
Well, she was quiet all night last night and let me sleep!!!Monday night, DH made me roll over cuz she was pushing on his back soo much...HELLO>>>she is moving through me and hitting him soo now can he see why I am soo restless??????
Lauren--I started playing online with a BabiesRUS registry and got me some receiving blankets!!!That is it!!!Now I know I should move on the nursery if U have started it already!!!
Everyone else...HELOO!!!!!Got to get to work!!!!!
09-04-2002, 08:28 AM
[RR- Uh, yeah, I think you better get moving!! Actually, didn't you already order nursery furniture awhile back? So you're getting there, you just don't have it set up! Imagine how quickly the next few months are gonna go?! The holiday's usually fly by anyway, and with the babies coming, they're gonna go even faster!! My counter is at 4m12d today, which means you should be around 3 1/2 months, right?!
LA- I am a member of Curves too. I think it's a great program, but I've been to sick/lazy/tired to go more than a couple times since I've been PG! It's $39/mo. if you sign a contract for a year and have it taken out of your account. It's $49./mo. if you pay as you go, which I wish I had done.
Karen- DH and I talked a little about the midwife and he thinks it's for people who live in the sticks, or people like my SIL's sister, who is popping anyday, if she didn't already, with #9!! I think a lot of people are misinformed that way. But I knew that's how he'd feel. I just asked him to go with me and hear what she has to say. He's worried about not having a doctor there to check the baby (notice he's worried about the baby, not me!!) I assured him that the pediatrician will be there for the baby when he's born. We still have to find one of those too!! (Man, all these things...) A Doula is the other person your Sis had. I think it's a great idea for someone that maybe doesn't have a good support system with DH/family, or someone like your Sis who just likes to be spoiled. My DH would be totally offended, I think, if I chose to have a Doula!!
Rabbit- Ouch!! That's sounds painful! :ziplip: What kind of soup did you make? DH and I bought some on sale in the store last night, but he had some Italian Wedding Soup at work one day and he wants to make that. It sounded good.
Have a great day all!!
09-04-2002, 09:04 AM
I can't believe it's September! The weather is still really nice here but I know winter is coming and I hate winter. Oh well. I haven't gotten on the scale in a few days and I'm trying to stay off for a week or so (we'll see how that works.) I know the scale keeps me in line but I become a slave to the scale sometimes and can dictate my mood for the day which is okay when the number is good but it's silly. I have to weigh regularily because I'm one of those people who can stay off the scale, gain weight and convince myself that my pants are tight because they shrunk in the wash!!
Lauren - I totally understand what you're saying about the doctor/midwife thing. I don't know anyone here that used a midwife but most of my friends had really good doctors who listened to them and took the time to talk to them, especially when it was their first baby. I worry about that too. I'm like you kind of traditional but I like the midwife idea for the compassion I think they have. I think a doctor/midwife together would be the best. Good Luck!
Rabbit - glad you're feeling okay. I had a root canal last year (actually two) and I was told I really need a crown on one but I've been putting it off - how bad is it??
LA - I heard how hot it was there and I hope it cools down soon. We both need to go to the dentist!! I also have very sensitive teeth to the cold and one time it was because I needed a root canal so I hope that's not the case for me again! It's not as bad as people say but it's not exactly fun.
Liz - that sounds like a such a great day for your birthday and I love The Baby Story too - always cry at the end!!
Hi to everyone I've missed!
Have a great day,
09-04-2002, 02:09 PM
I've been reading "The Swarzebean Principle" (spelling?? ). It's one of the books I picked up after reading about several different low-carb plans - there are lots. Anyway, it's very interesting and I'm learning alot. May try this for awhile.
Karen - funny about your sil story!
LA - I had braces for a couple years - got them off last January - so I'm used to it.
RR - have fun preparing for the little one. You've got lots of time!
Lauren - 9 kids! Whoa. ~ I made chicken noodle soup.:T
Elisa - oh it wasn't so bad. I couldn't feel anything, so I thought I should just relax.
Have a great day.
09-04-2002, 03:38 PM
i'm depressed today. i haven't lost a single pound in 8 days! although if i want to look on the bright side, i haven't gained a single pound either. and TOM is next week so that's not going to help either. but the good news is my weight seems to drop most in the 2 weeks after TOM so we'll see! plus i'll be moving next week. more exercise :D
lauren -- thanks for the info on curves. $49 is definitely a lot for me right now. the new house i'm moving into has higher rent than i pay now. i'm going to have to start cost cutting :o but i'll keep it in mind for future reference after i have an idea of what i can and can't spend!
elisa -- the first dentist i saw wanted to do a root canal. but i got a second opinion and he's pretty sure it's just a tiny crack in the tooth and a root canal isn't necessary. i should just go and have him fill it in and hopefully that will solve the problem. it's just one tooth that has this problem. but i can't go eating and drinking everything on the right side of my mouth for the rest of my life!
well time to walk the doggie and make lunch. i hope everybody is having a wonderful day!
09-04-2002, 04:52 PM
Hey LA, you may want to give Curves in your area a call, just to see if it's the same price. Probably since you're in a pretty expensive area, but I'm in NJ, so is Karen, and everything usually is more expensive here.
09-04-2002, 06:04 PM
Hi guys. Well, it's been some day. I figured out this morning that I am officially two weeks late for TOM. Of course I panicked, made myself sick worrying. I ran out at lunch and bought a test. It says negative, but I'm still late. I called and made an appt with the doctor but it's next week. I made myself so sick that I almost skipped Curves. Then I decided that nope, I was gonna go. I felt better afterwards so I'm glad I went. Sure hope you guys have kept your germs to yourselves!! :)
Lauren: You are so informed!! One of my SIL's friends is a nurse/midwife and they really do a lot of training. It has been three years that I know of this girl has been training and I don't think she is done yet. There IS a doctor available, it's not like you are in the middle of the woods with no medical assistance
OK, DH is home now so I gotta go tell him the yucky news.
09-04-2002, 06:41 PM
LOLOL!! Hope those evil PG germs didn't make it down to you!!
09-04-2002, 09:14 PM
Lauren, Midwifes are pretty popular around here because they have more 'feelings' than most of the DR's. We've also got a birthing clinic that is wonderful. Have had several friends deliver babies there.
Rabbit: I'm trying to do better about lowering the carbs! Its so hard!!!!
No loss to report - but no gain either!, jul
09-05-2002, 06:06 AM
Lauren--My MD group doesnt have a midwife...I have heard only good things about them and I am sure if something was not in order they would refer U to the MD available...I am a wimp, soo I am sticking with the MD, the Hospital and the Epidural!!!!
I have a Breast feeding class to go to soon and then one on recognizing the s/s of labor...Dh says, I will know!!!The only problems I am having is the nose bleeds daily but other than that, all is well!!!!!
Karen--Keep us posted!!!!!!
Jul-Hurray on the no gain!!!!That is always an accomplishment considereing your schedule!!!!
09-05-2002, 10:26 AM
Hi guys, haven't had much time to post lately but HAVE been spying o you so here comes;
I don't have kids myself but as far as I know, having a midwife over at a birth is smt that's been done a lot in the Netherlands, and we are considered way up front with that sort of thing. People seem to like the idea of giving birth at home, and only when things are getting out of hand (which is fairly rare) are they being transported to hospital. Epidurals, which almost everyone uses with you as far as I know, are avoided whenever possible, partly because they're considered weenie and unnessesary, and partly because they could cause damage to the spine. Here in Greece lots of doctors prefer cesareans, and they happen a lot more than elsewhere in Europe, because in private hospitals it's more profitable (so more $$$ gained), and in public because they are faster. Every country seems to have ts preferences for giving birth(!).
This for now I am very busy so see you later, grouphuggie to all!
P.S. am also a little depressed. Have realized that my relationship is going nowhere (well, maybe down the drain, that is), so might break off. Am also very pissed about this. Program is ok, gym is ok, Hurray for that at least!
Vassiliki, the Greek Menace
09-05-2002, 02:19 PM
good morning ladies!
so excited, i finally lost a pound. one tiny little pound in 9 days but at least the scale is moving again!
gotta get back to work, but i wanted to stop by and wish everyone a fine thursday morning. i can't believe how fast this week is going by!
09-05-2002, 03:08 PM
Happy thursday to everyone. I'm doing okay. I seem to have the bottomless pit going. I was stuffed after lunch yesterday but no matter what I ate in the evening I wasn't satisfied. I kept trying though!!! I'm kind of feeling that way again today. I've been working out really hard so that's probably why.
I found out another friend of mine is expecting in March. This is like the 20th person I know having a baby these days. Instead of anthrax maybe the terrorists put something in the water to get all the women pregnant. Thankfully my body is rejecting it!
Congrats LA!! Someday I'll be able to say that again.
GG, Sorry about troubles with BF. Men can be real pain in the rumps sometimes. Just keep looking until you find the guy who appreciates you for the woman you are. Until then, don't settle for anything less!!!!
Karen, Oh My!!!! From the sound of your e-mail I get the feeling you're not trying to get PG. All I can say is everything happens for a reason. Hopefully things will work out however you want them to.
Rabbit, good luck with your new plan. I've been cooking up a batch of beans and veggies on Sunday nights and munching on that with my lf sandwiches for lunch. I just take a skillet and throw in a can of beans (lima or black so far), can of diced tomatoes, sliced mushrooms, sliced onion, and diced yellow squash or zucchuni. Then throw in some seasoning and let it simmer for a half hour. It fills me up much better than a cup of soup and it's probably much healthier.
Hi to everyone else!! Have a great day.
09-05-2002, 03:17 PM
Afraid to go to ww today after traveling. Going to wait until next week, chicken that I am.:chicken: (how appropriate - just the right smiley for me!).
LA - congrats on your loss. If you keep doing it right, the pounds are bound to come off sooner or later.
Karen - you are very inspiring with your trips to curves!:barbell:
Jul - it is hard. I'm still just in the learning phase.
RR - sorry you are experiencing nosebleeds.:(
Greek - sorry about the realtionship blues.:grouphug:
Liz - sorry you are struggling, I am also. Your recipe sounds good.
have a great day.

I'm with Greek on the epidurals. Actually I think they can prolong the labor because your not "feeling" it. I did both of mine without even a thought of an epi....but then again I have a pretty high threshold for pain. Our local hospital and the Dr's in the area all are in pretty much the same agreement and they all avoid epi's unless the 'mama' really needs one.
We're trying a show we've never done before this weekend...its in Mt Vernon IL. How far is that from you Rabbit?? ITs a small town with a wonderful museum/art center. We're going to leave around 4 a.m tomorrow!

Glad to see so many back to posting, I haven't been, I'm trying to decide what I want to do I don't seem to be in the right frame of mind to actually loose this weight. I way only 5 lbs less than I did in Jan. and I know it's me that's stopping me. I'm just afraid that if I don't keep going through the motions I'll gain again which is what happened last fall :( . Anyway I gained another half pound at WW on Tuesday. But I'd just started TOM and I'm always constipated so hopefully that was it, we'll see.
Our first Anniversary is 9/22 so we're going out of town for a long weekend, we're planning on going to Ontario but haven't finalized any plans yet so hopefully it'll work out. Until then we're short handed at work so I have a feeling I'll be working lots until we close for a major renovation 9/17.
RR - Too funny about Refman's voice. My sister's kid (born 8/1/02) moved alot invitro and still moves alot now that he's out . I can't believe you're Christmas shopping already you need help girl.
LBH - My sister used a midwife and she went to University of Michigan Health center, so tell DH they're not just for hicks anymore!! (although her DH is a hick but that's another story :D )
Karen - Hope you're not PG if you don't want it. We had a scare like that a month ago and I was pretty excited it turned out negative.
GG - Glad you had a good time at the beach and cool about the extra vacation.
Rabbit - Good to have you back even if you are :chicken: I always find it best to face the music.
LA - Welcome! Hope you're move's going well.
Lizzard - Sounds like you had an awesome weekend.
Well that's all for right now except
GOALS FOR THIS WEEK (9/3-9/10)
Journal everything I eat no matter how much
Get in all of my water every day
Exercise even if it's only a mile walk 5 times
I'm going to start small and hopefully get back on track quickly!!!!!!!

Hi all. I'm at school again so this will be quick. I'M NOT PG!! Whew. Was I worried. I definitely don't want to go through this again. At least DH is now going to the urologist to have his self fixed. I still have to go to the doctor to find out why I'm so late. Maybe I am going to have early menopause since I started this darn thing so early (10 1/2). Don't know if I want to go through all the changes, but, there's nothing that can be done about it. :) :) :)
It's so nice to see everyone posting again. It was pretty quiet here for awhile. I really need to get more serious about the diet stuff. The working out is good but it can't do it all!!
Have a good evening all!

i'm so excited football season has started. i spent my evening with the 49ers. they won! yay!
karen -- congrats on your NON-pg! you sound very relieved :)
techalum -- thanks for the welcome! i'm sure you'll all hear more about the move as it comes closer. this is going to be my last weekend to pack, but i think i can do it! i think your goal to journal all your food is a good idea. sometimes i "forget" to write something down and then i wonder why. who's going to read it but me?
GG -- sorry about your boy troubles :( i'm at the point now where i'm wondering if there are any good ones left!
RR/Lauren -- glad to hear things are going well with the kiddies!
well i'm off to sleep now. hope you all had a wonderful evening!

Thanx for the support, I was feeling REALLY bad and resentful yesterday. Today is much better, now I"m just  . I sent BF an sms message that he better not try to conversate with me beyond the usual niceties when I came home, and that from now on I consider us only aquaintances, not even friends. I'm just so fed up with feeling unloved, critisized, and used. I DO deserve better! LA, you can have this one for free, if you can ignore the yakking and just look at the (admittedly nice) bod 'n bum, but if I were you... Lucky for him, I was already asleep when he came in. I have no trouble falling asleep even when I'm like this, thank God!
We had a crisis at the office yesterday, too, as one of my colleagues left us and got very upset when doing so. My other colleague couldn't stand him any more, so she just got up and walked out. I was left alone with this guy because everyone else had left too, the accountant is in hospital, and then he started at meÖLucky he only stayed another 25 minutes so I got rid of him in the end. I then called my colleague again to tell her, but sheíd just gone home to unwind and I told her to stay there.
We decided we should make our lives into a sitcom: better than Ally Mc. Beal, populated by REAL people, and featuring: US:dizzy: ! I went to hockey training afterwards which was very satisfying: hitting something when you are feeling really aggressive always does the trick for me!
LA-nice you are doing things you really like! About that only pound, go check the Library, thereís an interesting article Jennnifer posted that might explain some of your symptoms. Just keep going, girl! And donít forget to move around a lot!
Karen, I also did a PG test this morning, just in case! I do want lotsa kids, but definitely not in the phase Iím in, as you can understand! (It was negative, of course but you never know). As an extra, I left the pregnancy test box in the bin for BF (ex?) to see to turn the screw of anxiety a little, hehe, little devil that I amÖ:devil:
Lizzard, Is there something special triggering your eating that you know? If itís working out, try to eat smt. small about an hour before (preferably protein or some fibrous carbs like brown bread), that might help. If itís after, you might try protein powder in a glass of milk.:cheese: :apple: :ziplip: :ziplip:
Tech, put the log up here, maybe we can see smt in your eating pattern that you canít! Have fun on the long weekend off and congrats on your anniversary, and try not to overdo it. Nice to see you back!
:grouphug: from Athens to all, Zorba the Greek AKA me
(as you can see I'm also experimenting with all these new smilies)

Tech-DH was in your neck of the woods last weekend visiting and he brought the baby a going home gift from the Hockeytown store....it is a Redwings Hockey Jersey and pants...He also got HER a Redwing cup, eating bowl and matching fork and spoon, a Redwing teddy bear, t-shirt etc etc..I had to nicely tell him if we took our little girl home in a hockey Jersey..they may wonder!!!!:dizzy: :dizzy: He is too funny!!!!!Glad U R back posting!!!!!!
GG-Glad things are better today!!!
WEll, late for work again!!!Must run!!!!

Just a quick one because my mood is not good the past couple days. All I've done is cry about how bad my life sucks for two days. :( It's half hormones, half aggravation from my boss from h*ll...and a little bit of car aggravation...all rolled into one.
Glad Karen and GG are not PG! RR, DH has already bought a little Giants romper for Peter....he can't decide if he likes the fire engine one or the Giants one better.
Gotta run and try to get happy. There's a baked potato bar in the caf today, maybe that'll cheer me up. It's gotta be better than the Big Mac value meal and Edy's chocolate silk icecream I had last night!! :ink:
09-06-2002, 01:34 PM

Hi all!! Well, I celebrated a little bit too early. I spotted just a tad last night so I thought all was well. I took a test this am to make sure. It was positive. Ugh. I cried all the way to work and then some. :( I had a long talk with myself today and decided that it is now time to get happy. I also took another test when I got home tonight. It's still positive. So it's off to the doctors office on Thursday. I am going to need some advice about still loosing weight while PG.
GG: I am glad that your test was negative!!! Good luck with deciding what to do with BF. You certainly are a little devil for leaving the box in the wastebasket.
Gotta go console DH. He has had a nervously sick stomach for three days now!! (BTW, when does morning sickness set in? :()
09-07-2002, 12:08 AM
oh karen!!! i wish i had something pithy and wise to say to you. but all i can think of is everything happens for a reason! i have known people who thought they never wanted kids and when they became pregnant they were terrified. but once they saw that little baby they couldn't believe they ever felt that way. it was wonderful :)
since i'm so new here i'm not sure if your reasons for not wanting to be PG but hopefully now that it's here you and DH find some joy in the situation. who knows, one day you may look back and decide it was the best thing that could have happened. we never know why these things happen. i always try to find the silver lining in everthing. :)
i hope everything goes well with the dr. and remember...
:grouphug: and :goodvibes for you!!!!!!!!

Hi all. I am feeling a lot better about things today. So is DH which makes it easier for me. We told the parents last night and they were so excited. Especially his mom! She thought she would not be having anymore grandchildren, especially from us.
Lauren: Sorry you are feeling so blue (although I *do* suspect you of sending those germs down the line since you are closest!). Hope things are looking better now. Your DH sounds cute, buying outfits already.
RR: Your DH sounds cute with all the hockey stuff. Sure hope she likes hockey. Maybe he should start subliminal messages to her now? You know, "Hockey is fun........." , "You will LOVE hockey...." through your tummy.
Rabbit: On your way to SLIM. I like that. Hope it works to motivate you.
LA: Thanks for the encouragement. I appreciate it.
Gonna go shopping for the puppy now. He needs some new chew toys. Have a nice weekend all.
09-07-2002, 12:44 PM
Oh Karen. I don't know what to say either. Ditto everything LA said. Sounds like you are accepting it though and hopefully the joy will come next.:grouphug:
There is definitely something going on here!
had a great day yesterday EXCEPT for the orange slices. Why oh why do I buy such things??
Today will be better.
gotta run - have a super Saturday.
On my way to SLIM:wizard:

I had this post I was typing this AM, but my PC locked up and of course I had to reboot!! :(
Karen- I'm sorry fate threw you a curve ball, but I'll say a small congrats to you, because I know you will both come around to the idea of a baby soon! :) Don't forget how close I am, if you want to get together somewhere to chat, vent, need a hug, whatever! I'll PM you my contact info. You will not be allowed to go to WW while PG, but you can still follow the program, just add some more points, I think it's supposed to be about 300-400 calories more. And you can definitely keep going to Curves, as long as you're up to it. Morning sickness varies person to person. Mine hit around 7-8 wks. and was very mild. Only lasted a few weeks. The first symptom I had was after I knew I was PG, I had this heaviness, kind of crampiness in my lower abs. I felt like I had to walk around holding my lower abs with my hands, because otherwise all would fall out!!
Rabbit- I guess orange slices are some kind of candy? Silly me, I'm thinking, but oranges are good for you!!
My mood, thankfully, has picked up. My boss really brought me down. Talked to the dealership and they're going to fix my hazard switch for free, since I complained so much, and they're going to probably fix my brakes for free too, since it's only been 16K miles. Unfortunately i have to take it up to the place I took it when I lived in Budd Lake, which is a good half hour away. But I'll justify it with a trip to the new Wal-Mart up there.
Hope everyone's having a great weekend. Mom came over and helped me clean a bit, while DH was out doing soccer pics with his friend this AM. Not bad, he made 100 bucks for 3 hrs. work.
Have a great day all!

hi ladies! i just got back from seeing rick springfield at the universal amphitheatre! i danced my tushy off so i'm sure i burned off that bagel, lox and cream cheese i had for lunch at jerry's famous deli !!!
just wanted to say a quick hi and tell you the concert was SO great! this is my third time seeing him and he's never disappointed me.
