Good morning to you all. My hips were killing me upstairs in bed so I came down to balance my checkbook, check facebook and post to you gals. I have a busy weekend. We got a phone call last night and are going to have a surprize visitor tonight. Tom and Kelly are going out with friends and Thomas had a choice which grandparents to stay with so he called granddad last night and asked if he could stay overnight. We told him absolutely not, he was a bratty kid......:lol::lol: Like that would ever, ever happen. Anyway, we have Jack's eye appt and my eye check then rush home and clean house and get his room ready, then pick him up at 6 and out to dinner. I figure we will take him to Chilis. His parents don't like Chilis and he loves that chocolate volcano thing they have. He has a cooking class at noon tomorrow so we will just give him a late breakfast before he leaves. The cooking institute is only about 5 miles from our house so it is convenient. We will hop in the car then and run to the commissary and get groceries.

Jean: The comment about the grapefruit and Bob was interesting. Why does it interfere? I ask because Jack takes Zocor, which is the same thing basically. Is it all citrus? I wouldn't know because Jack only drinks oj and never eats any citrus especially grapefruit. I like the lovely pink grapefruit myself. I think it is much sweeter. My grandfather ate grapefruit every day of his adult life. He would have 2 pieces of toast, grapefruit and coffee. Grandma even had these beautiful silver spoons with serrated edges to get out the sections. She would fix us pancakes once in awhile, but he always ate the same thing. We used to "house" college kids from groups like that when we lived in Indiana. We once had several stay at our apartment and all did a slumber party routine in the living room. We had a huge 2000 sq ft apartment and the living room was very big. It was fun.

Susan: Your dinner does sound yummy. I fixed Faye's Stuff last night for dinner with rice. You are such a fountain of information. The computer thing was something Thomas would pop out at me. :) My vision actually improved a little from last visit. I am very nearsighted and have been since I was 11. I have been wearing contacts continually for about 11 years now. Jack actually wore contacts way back in the early 70's when they were hard. He said he could only stand to wear them about 45 minutes before they drove him nuts. I remember he bought them when he got hi re-up $10,000 bonus from the Navy. They didn't last him long.

I guess I better go. I have things I could do before I have to shower and get ready to go to the eye dr's. Have a great Saturday. It was so nice and warm yesterday and look at what it is going to be like here for the next week. Sandals, here I come. Faye

Good afternoon, ladies! Nice day in the middle 40s. I think spring might come on schedule. Next weekend we turn the clocks ahead.

I went to WW this morning and was gratified to have a 2 pound loss for hard work last week. 2.5 pounds and I'll be back in the 150s. I'm working on attaining that by the end of the month. The topic of the Momentum Challenge this week was "Spicing It Up." Our leader brought a bag of things from her house, divided us up in groups of 2 or 3 and had us take something from the bag without looking. We were supposed to come up with 5-6 ways to use that item. There was food, spices, exercise band, exercise dvd, etc. I had forgotten about exercise bands. I can do that at home. I had some but must have put them in the Thrift Store bag so when I couldn't find them I went to Walmart and got me a new one. You can get free exercises using it at ifit.com and it was only $7.00. If I use that when the commercials come on tv, I can get a lot of exercise.

We had samples of Chocolate Cherrios and Raisin Bran in our newpaper bag this morning and $1 coupons for each. I ate the raisin bran with 1/2 cup of almond milk that that was 2 points. I took the chocolate cheerios coupon with me to Walmart and got a box for $1.50. I'm going to make a snack mix with that, dried cranberries, and walnuts.

Jean, the eye doctor had me get Optiv (OT) for dry eye. It helps a lot. Dry eye is caused because we don't blink enough, at least that is his opinion. I think there must be some connection with dry mouth which I have as a side effect of the many inhalers I use. Since use of inhalers can cause cataracs, I think that seems logical. I know, I should have gone to medical school.

Faye, have fun with Thomas. I'll bet he has more fun with you and Jack than his other grandparents.

I had a green pepper that I needed to use so I'm making stuffed peppers for supper and the freezer. I'll have broccoli and salad with that.

Hi, Maggie!

Good morning everybody! Wow, yesterday was so beautiful and in the 60's. Jack went and got his contacts and loves them. We bought him and swanky new pair of sunglasses so he has been going around acting like David Caruso on CSI Miami. He is such a stitch!

Thomas is here and will go home this morning. He has a pizza cooking class with his parents this afternoon. He sat at dinner last night feeding me trivia and math questions. Of course, I failed miserably, but he had fun. They were all "trick" style questions for the most part, but a couple were just straight on. Chilis was loud and busy last night. There are obviously still lots of people who spend their money on restaurants. We had a good time, came home and he played with his laptop and then went to bed. He is sitting behind me right now having a running conversation about some war game he is playing his laptop. :)

Susan: Congrats to you, on your losses! :carrot: Almost back to where you want to be, that's great. I am going to the store today and to Fresh Market and stock up on good fruits and veggies etc and hitting the WW hard again and hopefully the weight will start coming off again from the darn hormones. That sounds great for a snack mix. I bet dried cherries would be yummy in them too. I was going to get a box of choc cheerios today so I may get some raisins or whatever to put in them.

Well, I need to get my shopping list done, get a shower, breakfast and do my chores so we can head out as soon at T goes home. The commissary isn't open late today so we have to get out there before 4 pm.

Have a great day and hopefully the sun shines today where you are. Faye

Good afternoon ladies - a beautiful day in the high 50s.

I went to church this morning and met my friend there and after Mass we took the Relay for Life quilt to the long arm quilter and chose the designs and thread for the quilt. By then it was lunch time so we stopped at Wendy's. I got the double burger off the $1 menu and a 99 cent fries that was only half full and a free senior coffee so my lunch was $2.16. That will be my french fries for another month or more. Made yet another Walmart stop after I took her home to get cat food. Cupid will only eat Friskies Prime Fillets and walmart has them 24 cans in the box so I get a box of seafood and a box of meat/poultry. I forgot it yesterday so today was punishment for forgetting. I practically had to park on the street.

Faye, I haven't been to Chili's for a long time. All citrus interfers with some medications. I can't have it within 4 hours of my Synthroid. Juice or whole fruit, it doesn't matter. Since it is acidic, it also makes GERD worse.

Maggie and Jean, hello!

I have a new applique bee we are starting tomorrow morning. More fun!

Good Afternoon, Flowers! I had good intentions of visiting here yesterday and it never happened. My house needed some extra attention with visitors coming last night :o so I was busy cleaning, polishing, and vacuuming most of the day. The prime rib dinner was delicious and the entertainment was light hearted and fun as always. We skipped church this morning and slept in which is very unusual for us. I guess my cleaning effort yesterday made me more tired than I realized. Our patio became a lake from all the rain yesterday so Bob rigged up a sump pump to get the water up and over the snow mountain and out into the yard. It's just gloomy here today but more rain is predictied for the next several days. We certainly don't need any more; there is talk of major flooding across the state this spring. :hyper:

"Gma" -- The drug information that came with Lipitor specifically says to not eat grapefruit as it will interfere with the drug performance. I take a combination of a bp and cholesterol pill and my information says the same thing. I've worn hard contacts since '64; I can't get a strong enough prescription in soft lenses, or at least I couldn't several years ago when I tried them. I'm sure you had a fun time with Thomas. Grandchildren do keep you on your toes. I hope the commissary wasn't busy and you could whiz right through.

Susan -- Congrats on losing the 2#s! :cheer: You are on your way downward once again. I've not seen the chocolate Cheerios yet. If they are brand new we probably won't see them for a few weeks which is par for the course. Lots of times I will see an ad on TV only to find it is not available here yet. I'm sure you will enjoy the applique bee!

The dryer is buzzing so I need to change loads. Have a relaxing "rest of the day" and a marvelous Monday tomorrow!

Good morning to you all! Another beautiful spring day expected here today. It tried to peek up to near 70 yesterday but only made it to mid 60's. I will definitely take that though.

The commissary was a complete zoo yesterday and we had to stand in line to check out almost half an hour. I hate those weeks. People are really kind though and don't rave and rant about it. I sat down for awhile since I had swollen feet again yesterday. They have a little table and chairs and free coffee by their deli area and I sat until Jack got to the front of the line then I joined him. I got tickled at two elderly men talking military shop. They were both in the Korean and Vietnam war and they were "rifle corpmen." Even Jack didn't know what a rifle corpman was. Anyway, they were so cute talking about their time in the Navy.

Susan: I am not a big fan of ff anymore. When they changed oil and quit putting salt on them, they weren't as yummy, which was good for me, obviously. I like the Wendy's chili with lots of hot sauce. I hate it when I have to buy heavy stuff and have to park in Timbuktu. I know you have to be glad you now have lots of kitty food for awhile. I sat and watched the shoppers go by me yesterday and had a grand time looking in their baskets to get an idea of how they eat. One of the old gentlemen is a coffee addict. He had a least 4 5 lb cans of coffee in his basket. When Kelly was in high school and Jack had a job where he traveled, we used to go pick him up at the airport and would have this goofy contests to pick someone walking by and making a story what their name was, what they did for a living, how they lived, etc. Soap Opera stuff. It would put us into giggles because we would get more and more outrageous with who these strangers were. That came to mind yesterday as I was checking out the baskets and got the giggles. I know people thought I was nuts.

Jean: I love prime rib, but it isn't somehting you can eat often. I imagine Bob will set up a pump early in your basement as I know you have problems with it flooding and looks like you are having a big melt starting. I guess I better look at the food interactions with all out meds as I do the other drugs but never think about foods too much.

I guess I better kick it into gear and get my chores done. I do have the laundry started so won't be long until I can move it into the dryer.

Have a good start to your week everyone! Faye

Good Morning, Flowers! It is so foggy and damp this morning. The snow continues to melt slowly and the patio sump pump is pumping every so often which is making Bob happy. I need to go down and pick up boxes off the basement floor just in case. Rain is predicted for the next 3 days starting tonight. We probably still have at least 4+ feet of snow to melt. I need to finish laundry and do some ironing sometime today.

"Gma" -- I suppose the commissary is busy every day just like any other store. Does it have clothing as well as food items? Many years ago we used to go to the one in Omaha and it had furniture, clothes, food, etc. The one in Sioux City was strictly food and household type things. We have 2 sump pumps in the basement, and so far neither one has kicked in because of water running in. :crossed: They will eventually though, and we have 2 spares ready to go just in case. In other years the store that sells them runs out on the first day of a heavy rain. I like to people watch and don't mind waiting in airports or stores if I'm not in a hurry.

I'm off to get dressed and get busy on my chore list. Hope you all have a nice day. Remember to :D !

GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIAS

It is a rainey day here in the heartland. We are going to make a run to our favorite butcher shop afterwhile and get some of his jerkey. Last trip I took a picture of the shop and made him a glass building that turned out real cute. I am going to downsize the pattern I made and make me a smaller version for my village. I haven't forgotten your ladies and the buildings I am going to make for you but these little jobs keep popping up which makes it so my materials get paid for. :o I need to make an order for supplies soon also. Yeppers I have to take my synthroid in the morning before I ever eat anything. I love grapefruit juice but like you gals have said it is a no no to drink with this med. If I have any grapefruit it has to be later in the day. Will just took Ragg Mopp to the groomer for his trim and a bath. We can pick him up when we get back from Lucas. He sure needed a bath. :p I ordered a crochet top with a underneath T and they were supposed to be lavendar. The top is but the T is pink. Weird but they do look good together so until I find a real lavendar long sleeved T I can use this one.

DONNA FAYE Your grandchild is such a hoot. What a little memory builder he is. It is good that contacts have been working for you for so long. So you are now ready to get back in the WW swing. That is good and lets hear how you do my friend. I know you can do this thing.

JEAN Yikes that is a lot of moisture you have been getting there in Iowa. Hopefully you have bumper crops from getting all that moisture. I can just see that corn shooting out of the ground. How has Earnie been liking all that snow?

SUSAN Isn't it fun to share a meal with good friends. We do that quite often and certainly have a good time. Last night some of us went out to I-Hop after services and I had the breakfast sampler with scrambled egg and have most of the meat to Will. With that they give you two sausage links, 2 bacon strips and two small ham slices. I like to have one little bite of sausage and bacon then he gets the rest. I do eat the ham. I don't think I did too much damage that way for I had biscuits instead of the pan cakes and only ate half of one and gave the rest away to another person we were with.

Hope all y'all have a wonderful day. Type later.

Good afternoon, ladies! It's up in the 60s and supposed to only improve for the next week. I hope winter is over.

The quilting bee this morning was fun. We had 11 for the first meeting and only have room for 4 more so it was a success. I had lunch at the Crab Shack with 2 of my friends.

Bible Study tonight - Matthew 19. I enjoy it so much and really miss it in the summer.

No time for personals today, but have a good evening!

Maggie -- I'll bet the butcher will get a kick out of the glass building representing his store. Tonight the weatherman on TV said that we've had 93 days of below 40 temperatures. It hit 40 today in Sioux City but our thermometer said 36. It felt damp and cold with the fog. Someone at church said we've had 70+ inches of snow this winter. I'm guessing we still have at least 4' surrounding our patio. The sump pump has pumped water out of the hole in the yard a couple times today. Ernie didn't know what to think of the snow. Bob let him out when the snow was piled high around the deck so he couldn't go very far. He likes to stick his nose out the open window; maybe he remembers being an outside cat.

Susan -- I wish winter were over too! We've had snow in April in years gone by. At least now we know that it can't last forever. Everything is sloppy wet and the snow along the streets is dirty and icky looking. Was the quilting bee this morning the new one you joined or just a whole new group getting started? If anyone else is interested, maybe you could have a smaller Bible study group in the summer and discuss reading material written outside of the Bible, but still pertaining to it. :D

I am heading to bed! See you tomorrow!

Good morning to you all! It is raining to beat the band today. I have to get out and get my fruits and veggies at Fresh Market today. Yesterday, poor Jack reinjured that knee just walking around the plant so he is back to light duty wearing a brace and I had my whole day screwed up because we had to sit forever at the darn dr's office. I felt so sorry for him. He was hurting so bad and it took them nearly 4 hours to get to him. The city uses those walk in clinic things for their workmen's comp cases so of course they treat everyone like cattle.

I adjusted my weight loss to where I am now. Hopefully I can now pull this weight off for good. I have my dr appt on Thurs for the consult on the d and c. I am hoping they can do it next Friday and get it over with. We would like to have it done on Friday so Jack can take off and then have the whole weekend off in case I have any complications or such. I have never had this done so I don't know whether you feel better in a few hours or days.

Jean: It was very warm here yesterday. I think we are finally totally into spring. I am into sandal mode. I think with as much snow as you guys have had, spring is going to be a nightmare for you. I imagine there will be lots of flooding once it really gets going. Keeping my fingers crossed that doesn't happen.

Susan: Sounds like you had a very nice time. You had a big group. Do you do only group projects or do you bring your own pieces to do?

Maggie: I don't think any of us are in a terrible big hurry to get our buildings. I haven't been working on knitting for several weeks now. I go through periods like that where I am just not interested. Truthfully, I think one of my meds caused some depression. I had talked to the dr about it and she said the drug did have that side effect, but to let her know if I felt it was serious. I just noticed I didn't want to leave the house or do anything but sit in a chair. I think little by little the drugs are working themselvs out of my system and am back to normal except for the feet and leg swelling which I have to put up with. The problem is to change my meds again might lower my heart rate too much so I am just putting up with the occasional swelling.

Sounds like the washer just stopped so I better get the stuff in the dryer. I am going to fix myself some yogurt and a banana for breakfast and get my chores done.

Have a great day all! Faye

Good Morning, Flowers! It is raining just as the weatherman said it would. DARN! :( It's a gentle rain so far so that is the good thing. The outside pump is pumping away; Bob says he wished he would have thought to do that years ago since our yard is lower than those behind us. I'm working in the office for a couple hours this morning. Bob's secretary was gone for a week so has lots to do. The auditors are coming and that always adds to the stress this time of year.

"Gma" -- I was sorry to hear Jack hurt his knee again but must admit I was surprised at how quickly he seemed to recover the first time. I hope he doesn't have any permanent damage. Our temps are running in the mid 30s for the week and rain everyday until Saturday. Without sunshine it could be a long week. I hope you can get your appt. for a Friday; I've never had one either so have no clue what to expect.

The dishwasher is running and I need to do another load of laundry this morning before I go. Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday today! :D

GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIAS

Live is good in the Heartland. It is gently sprinkling this day and that is a good thing. Went to WW last evening and showed a loss of point 2. Just a tad of a pound but Magnolias I am happy for any losses. I really was expecting a gain because of not attending last week and wasn't very careful of what I ate and my tracker was a mess. I really thought I would show a gain. We went to Applebees afterward and had so much fun. We have gotten to know most of the guys and gals that work there and lots of them stop by our table anxious for Will to tell them a joke. They love them because they are all clean and a couple of the gals said they go home and tell them to their fathers and they love to see them laugh. Will has a furtle mind and makes up 95 percent of them so no one has heard them before for sure. We even had the manager at our table showing us some tricks with coins and a bottle. All the folks around us at adjacent tables just wonder who we are to have so much attention at our table. AH life is good. And being an extravert sure helps.:o Ragg Mopp got his bath yesterday and looked so pretty for awhile. He has been outside now and doesn't look so pretty. Little scudder loves his bath though. Rain bings mud and well he is a dog.

JEAN I hope the pump does a great job getting that water taken care of for you. I am sure you are in for a mess come spring. The butcher put the house in the front window and said he would have the light on during business hours. He asked if he could give out my phone number to folks interested in buying one ~ duh ~ I said of course with a smile.:D To put it mildly he was totally amazed at the little building that looked like his shop. It is fun to "wow" folks. I can just see Ernie in my minds eye sniffing the air. He probably is so thankful that he doesn't have to be out in it.

DONNA FAYE The weight will come off now that you are straightend around. Even if you do retain water if you are OP the weight will come off. I am so sorry to hear that Jack reinjured his knee. That must be so painful and then have to wait so long for releif is a crime. I remember once I was at a doctors appointment on time and then had to wait and wait for a LONG time. I had taken off work so sent him a bill for my missed work and chaged him my missed wages. I said I had a special time to be there and I was and if it was his practice to book several at the same time it was not a good thing. He called me up and said that he was sorry and would not double book my time in the future and included a check for my "waiting time." He had been my doctor for years and years and I was venting and it paid dividends. :D I don't imagine it would get you anywhere at that place you had to take Jack though.

SUSAN A good howdy to you girlfriend. Hope all is well with you this day.

Sounds like Will is back from his run to Wall+Mart so I had better say Audios and go put stuff up. Type at y'all later.

Good morning to you gals! It is balmy and warm this morning and though overcast will be a nice day I think. My dryer motor went kaputs so we have to buy a new dryer but for now I will run clothes to the laundromat and dry them a couple times a week. I want something specific and we got such a load of bunk from the people at Lowe's last night and we were both so mad that I told Jack we would just wait. They wanted nearly $350 to fix the dryer and I told the guy you could buy one for that kind of money. He told me never to buy another GE, which is all I have ever had as they are the most expensive on parts.

Tomorrow is my dr appt so we shall see what will happen there. Jack also has a recheck on his knee. You know, if they would give people proper time off instead of making them go back to work maybe they wouldn't keep having to put people back on light duty, etc. When we were at the dr's there was another guy and a woman there that were reinjured with workmen's comp. Looks to me like it costs a lot of money to keep having them have to go back to the dr. I did find out that it is an OSHA thing about them being at work though.

I am going to go pick up my contacts at Walmart, which came in yesterday, get another laundry basket, go to Fresh Market and get my fruit (the dryer bunked that up yesterday) and then take the clothes over and dry them before coming home and fixing dinner tonight. Luckily, there is a fairly new laundromat close by. I haven't used one in so long I have no idea how much it will even cost! :D

Maggie: Any loss is good loss as they say. Sounds like you had a great time last night. No, these clinic places could care less and a lot of times are staffed by "not the cream of the crop" doctors. They aren't that great IMO but they fulfill a need I guess. They are expensive too.

Jean: The bad thing is the rain will melt the snow, the good thing is the rain will melt the snow! Spring is trying to come your way but it looks like the temps are trying to prevent it.

Guess I better get some breakfast in me and get my chores done so I can go run errands. I don't know how long everything is going to take and want plenty of time. Have a grand day today everybody!

Good Morning, Flowers! It's another rainy, gloomy, foggy morning in my neighborhood. The weatherman said we will have a break from the rain this afternoon and then another front moves in tonight. Today is my lunch bunch and I'm anxious to catch up on the latest school gossip since I missed last month. I have the usual chores to get done before I leave. I never want to start any projects once I've left home during the day.

Maggie -- Like Faye said any loss is a great loss and you are on your way down at the scales. :cheer: Did Applebees have their WW items on the menu? I want to try the new salad but have no clue when we will be in Sioux City again. Our WM is redoing their store so now I won't be able to power shop anywhere in this town. :hyper: I spend more time backtracking at the grocery stores because I used to write out my list in the order of whichever store I was going to. I still haven't learned where everything is at either grocery store and never did at WM because I don't usually grocery shop there unless I just need a couple of items.

"Gma" -- That's too bad about your dryer. :( I think I've had 3 or 4 different brands over the years and can't really tell much difference in any of them. We had to replace a belt on one years ago but other than that have never had repairs of any kind. Good luck with your appt. tomorrow. I hope the procedure is soon so you have it out of the way. :)

Susan -- Hope all is well with you!

Hope you all have time to post sometime today. Have a wonderful Wednesday! :D

Good afternoon, ladies! Overcast today but already 68 degrees. Rain in the forcast for tomorrow and Friday.
This morning I had an appoint with the research clinic and had a complete physical, EKG, spirometry (breathing) and blood and lab tests. I have now passed into the next phase. I have to go back in the morning to do another spirometry test. They gave me and electronic journal and twice a day I have to answer the questions and it is saved in the pda. When I go back, the office nurse will download the information directly to the drug company. She will be able to look at the results on line. It has an alarm set for 9 in the morning and 9 in the evening (my requested times) so I don't forget.

I had Quilt Guild last night. After my rant about quitting, you see I didn't. We had a wonderful speaker last night with truly beautiful quilts. I was so captivated I came home and ordered all 3 books the author has out from Amazon and even paid for standard delivery. 2-day was way too much, drat! As soon as my appointment was over, I went to Joann's and got the fabric to make the quilt. I'll get it all cut and this will be one of my projects for retreat (only 3 weeks away).

Faye, It is a brand new quilting bee we are starting...in on the ground floor, so to speak. We all take our own projects to work on and inspire the others. I'm so sorry Jack's knee is out again. I thought he had recovered rather quickly. I was on crutches so long when I banged up my knee and then still had to wear a brace. I was a lifelong GE customer, but the last washer I had only lasted 5 years. Now I have Hotpoint. We have a nice laundromat near by. The only time I go there is if I make a flannel quilt. The first few washings have a whole lot of lint I don't want in my machines. I do clean the out before I leave. I'm thinking I'll be in sandals in a week or two. I need to get a pedicure first. I like the Fresh Market, too, but it's not too convenient for me to get there.

Jean, are your sump pumps going full blast? Water is high here and we'll get the run off as the snow melts to the west and comes down the James River and York.

Maggie, I know your butcher was delighted to get the glass shop. It'll certainly be the talk of the town for awhile. I hope you get plenty of commissions from his customers.

Dryer is buzzing so I need to go. Have a good day!

Good morning to you all! We had a huge thunderstorm overnight and everything is soaked now, but mild outside.

Jack and I ran an errand last night and came home to find two police cars and about 8 cops next door. They were all going through the gate next door and we had pushed out garage door opener so our garage door was sliding up. As we drove past, one cop signaled to the last cop something about us as we went past the second cop just smiled at us and waved. Don't know what that was about, but instead of getting on my pjs like I usually do and watching tv, I sat there dressed in case we had to make "a run for it.":lol: As we were going into the condo they were knocking on the door and talking and joking with someone not dressed in a uniform so I wonder if it was the condo owner (rental property) and they were going to evict the ghetto trash that lives there. Who knows? We always have some kind of drama here.

Susan: I hope that all the work you are doing will benefit you in the long run. Boy I got a shock at the laundromat. The prices sure have gone up considerably. The dryers were 25 cents for 5 minutes! I feel for the people who have to do their laundry there all the time. The washers cost $6.25. At least it is clean and non threatening, which was nice. I can stand it until we decide what we want and where we want to get it.

Jean: Did you have a good time with your school friends? Alicia posted a picture of Jackson standing on this little circle of snow in their front yard and he was growling about all the rest of the snow being gone. I imagine they are happy though. They are trying to get their rental in shape to re rent it and it is always better in dry weather for painting and such.

I went to Walmart and picked up my contacts, another clothes basket, a couple movies we wanted to see and a book I want to read on the way to Atlanta next month. Hope I can keep my hands off it. It is a series I read and I especially like. One of the movies we got was "2012" and it was pretty good. Thomas told me the movie was bad when he stayed with us, but I imagine he thought it was hokey and that is why he didn't like it. It was a disaster movie and with all the earthquakes recently really brought the possibility of it happening home I guess.

Well, I am going to get back into the recliner and snooze for an hour then Jack will be getting up. He has a recheck on his knee today and wants to get there as soon as it opens. My appt is at 10 so I want to be over there early and get it over with so we can move on with all of this.

Have a grand Thursday all! Faye

Good Morning, Flowers! It's raining hard right now and is supposed to rain all day long with a mix of rain and snow tonight into tomorrow. :( Where oh where is the sun? I need to go down to the basement and vacuum the litter and dust bunnies. The outside pump is pumping but with all the rain I can't help but know we will get water in the basement sooner or later. :dizzy:

Susan -- An alarm to remind you to journal you research info is a good idea! I use my timers a lot and have one on every floor! :) I'm famous for putting clothes in the dryer for 'only a few minutes' and then forgetting to get them before they are completely dry. There is nothing like a good speaker for motivation. I'm glad you enjoyed your quilt guild; I hope you get your books soon! Bob had to go out, in the rain this morning, to dig the pump hole a bit deeper. It wasn't pumping as often as he wanted with it raining so hard. When it pumps it sucks the hold dry though.

"Gma" -- I can't remember the last time I went to the laundromat. You can guess who is hanging around the ones that we have here. My neighbor's dryer quit on her and she brought her laundry over here to use mine. I know I could use hers in a pinch. Our lunch bunch sat and visited for 3 hours yesterday. The one who is on the school board couldn't be there so it wasn't quite as informative as usual. It would be interesting to find out what your neighbors were up to in order to get a visit from the police. Our snow is so icky looking with the rain, mud, and slop that I'm glad I don't have kids trying to play in it. Neither set of grandchildren have big yards so they get a kick out of playing in our huge yard. I hope it dries up before they all come again. Good luck to you both with your doctor appts. today.

Hope you all have a terrific Thursday . . . may the sun be shining on you! :D

GOOD AFTERNOON MAGNOLIAS

It is a rainey and blowing day in the Heartland. The rain is practically going sideways. Needless to day I am staying in this day. Will is out at his volunteer day at the Cancer Center so it is rather quiet here. Ragg Mopp is napping. I am sipping on coffee and do have a plan for the day. I am going to make a batch of Spaghetti sauce and we will have Spaghetti for dinner along with some toasted french bread and a huge green salad. Life is good. I am also going to bake some 2 point muffins and get some in the freezer before Will gets home. That way he (or me either) isn't tempted to overdo on them. I am going to solder a building I have ready and that is about as far as my plans have progressed. I did make myself a smaller version of the one I made for that butcher which will fit better in my village while the instructions I had made for myself were still fresh in my mind.:p

DONNA FAYE Sounds like you had some excitement at your dwelling. The prices at that laundramat are ridiculous. It wouldn't take a few loads to have enough money for a downpayment on a new one if a person could save it. 2012 was packed fill of FX and fast moving excitement with a story line of some folks woven through it all.

JEAN Sounds like you get together was fun even though you didn't get the scoop. ;) Things that go on in small town America are different than in the large cities. I much prefer small town America. Ya know there is a grand population of about 2000 that live in that little place where our butcher is located. Everyone must know everyone there.

SUSAN Hope your timer is working for you. Your set of new books sound interesting. Hope they do arrive soon. Your guild is a treat for I it sounds like. I don't know if anyone ever started a glass workers guild. Yikes, I don't know how I would pack up this stuff to meet somewhere. However, when I took that class way back when, I did have a case to transport my tools back and forth but left the project I was working on at the shop so I wasn't transporting any glass back and forth. Right now I have so many tools I wouldn't begin to transport them.:D

Well Magnolias it is just One O'clock and I need to get going. Get some lunch for starters which will be some sort of frozen WW or LQ entree. Type at y'all later ~ smile and make your neighbors wonder what you are up to.

Good evening, ladies! It was pouring rain when I left the house this morning, but by the time I got out of the doctor's office the sun had come out. We have rain in the forecast for the next 3 days; we'll see. At least it was close to 70 today.

I have always contended that my breathing was worse when it was raining and now I have proof. I had the test yesterday and I felt like I was breathing good and the result was lung capacity of 41%. This morning I had the same test and my lung capacity was 30% and I felt like I was breathing through a straw. Dr. thought it might be a mild mold allergy since a lot of people around here have them and they are worse with rain. I think I'll get it tested after this trial is over in June. After the first 3 tests, I was given atrovent and then had to wait an hour and repeat the test. The med helped get me up to 37%.

Faye, I hope your and Jack's doctor's appointments went well. Gosh, I'd be dirty if I had to use the laundromat. I could probably afford one a month at best. Did you ever find out what the ruckus was about next door?

Jean, I love getting together with old friends. It sounds like you had a nice time, even if you didn't get the full in depth info. Snow this time of year would be a real rarity here. I'm thinking about what I'll put in the flower beds this spring.

Maggie, I'll be there is a glass guild. I'll have to see if I can find one. Our quilt guild has over 400 members so we couldn't actually work there. We have out business meeting and then a speaker, preferably one with lots of quilts, and then we have show and tell to show off our latest quilts. The guild does offer classes a few times a month very reasonable priced at $10 for a half day and $15 for a full day. We own nearly 600 quilting books now that are lent out by the month. It's just a lot of fun.

Tomorrow is day chapter meeting and lunch with the girls. I got an email from Amazon this morning and my books are on the way UPS ground so they should be here by Monday or Tuesday for sure. I need to get all my cleaning done so I can just quilt up a storm.

Have a good evening!

Good morning to you all! It is pouring rain here again today and is probably going to be an all day thing. Kelly will be bringing Marty over in just a bit for us to keep for a week while they are on their cruise. They leave tonight after they get off work I guess.

Jack's appt was finally with someone who knew something. She is requesting the OJI people to send him to an ortho doctor, which I said he should see all along. He has fluid on that knee and he said she pressed in a certain spot and he about went through the roof.

Me, not so much. I got to the dr's checked in and waited for them to call my name. When they did, I went up to pay my copay and she informs me the dr called in and wouldn't be in yesterday and I would have to reschedule. GRRRRRR! I told her it took me three weeks to get the one I had. Anyway, I was pretty mule headed about it and told them I wanted an appt asap because I wanted to get the procedure done and over with. I have an appt for the 19th, which is still a week away, but best they would do for me or could do for me. Now I just sit and wait again.

I can't do replies this morning. I have to run and get a shower and get dressed before Kelly gets here. You all have a nice weekend. Faye
