South Beach Diet - Fancy-Free Friday!

View Full Version : Fancy-Free Friday!

03-05-2010, 02:16 AM
Who's looking forward to the weekend?! I am doing good on SBD. I slept for 3-4hours yesterday and I feel great! I hope to see some exciting results when I weigh on 3/15. Take care all!

03-05-2010, 03:10 AM
Good morning, Okie! I bet you are going to see a big drop on the fifteenth. You have a lot of willpower to wait that long! I weigh myself every morning.

It is definitely a fancy-free Friday here! We have nothing scheduled for this afternoon, so we don't have to rush around. I am looking forward to that. And then tomorrow there is NOTHING on the calendar, and I am SO sleeping in! If I have to put on the TV for the kids so I can get another couple minutes, I am not going to feel guilty about it. :)

Tom and I have a Skype date in an hour. I am looking forward to that.

Happy Friday!

03-05-2010, 06:34 AM
Morning all!

FO, glad sbd is making such a difference in your life!
Kara, have fun on your skype date and behave yourself (ok, you can be a little bad!)

Me...have to skip the gym this morning. Had a sub yesterday because I had to go to an autism workshop and I need to get to work early to get stuff together for next week and to fix whatever I know get messed up yesterday. I hate days when I can't go to the gym before work, so I'll make it up this evening.

My zumba videos came in yesterday. fun! Looks like it may take a while to "get" all the moves, but since I'm the only one looking at me, I don't care. I don't sweat much, but was pouring after the 20 minute workout. I like it!

Have a great Friday everyone!

03-05-2010, 06:48 AM
:coffee: Latte? cappuccino? Anyone? :)

Happy Friday and TGIF! It won't be a Fancy-free Friday for me, but at least I have the day off so will be able to get a lot of little "niggles" done.

Okie, I hope you plan a nap some time today, since you had so little sleep last night! With you dedication to SBD, I know you'll see something nice on the scale on the 15th! Have a good day and a super weekend.

Kara, I'm guessing by now you are having your Skype date. :) We used to Skype with Caitlyn a lot while she was in Bar Harbor, and I was thankful we could keep in touch that way. Enjoy your fancy-free Friday!

Cat, sorry your day isn't starting with the gym, but I hope you are able to make it tonight. Hopefully, you'll find everything went well in the classroom while you were out yesterday, and there won't be too much to straighten out. Have fun Zumba-ing!

I have to hang around to wait for the dumpster delivery this morning, and I hope they're right on schedule. Then I have several errands to run, and a few groceries to pick up. I may as well clean the house while I'm waiting around this morning, right after my date with Wiii Fit. :D

03-05-2010, 06:57 AM
Good morning!

It's just first light but you can tell it'll be another lovely spring-like day. You can see the snow shrinking down. I'm glad it'll be a slow melt because I don't want a flooded yard as I had last spring. The snow is nearly gone from the new part of the deck and the doggage and I will sit out there in the sun this morning for our mid-morning coffee.

Donna comes to clean this morning and some people are coming to check out my diningroom table and chairs. It's going to be replaced by the cherry one I bought before Christmas which is still sitting on the front porch covered with an old quilt. I really want it cleaned up and inside because the porch makes the house look like heck! All I need out there is a seat from a pick-up and a scruffy old hound dog.

Okie, I'm glad you still love SBD but wish you could get into a better sleep pattern. It helps with weightloss.

Cottage, I am so sorry you have to deal with dumpsters on your precious day off. At least it will feel good to get the clean-up started.

Cat, good luck putting things back in order in your classroom today. I'm sure the autism workshop was worth it.

Kara, I feel so inspired by your posts when I realize you have so much done already. Enjoy your date!

Just took a look around this room and see loads of dust! I had the windows open yesterday for a while and it drifted in. The neighbour's house that burned a month ago is a complete write-off and was torn down completely yesterday. I guess that put lots of dust in the air. Today they will haul away the pieces so I'd better keep the windows closed. I doubt that it will be rebuilt so I'll have an empty lot beside me for the summer. Maybe I can expand the garden....NOT!

Time for another coffee and to put together my seed order, keeping in mind that I am "cutting back" this summer. At least I won't be growing flowers for a wedding that didn't happen.

Hope your Friday is fancy-free.

03-05-2010, 07:12 AM
Good morning :coffee2:

Okie - Anything planned for your weekend?

Kara - Hope you are enjoying your Skype date :)

Cat - Zumba sounds like fun. I'll have to remember that next winter when I'm bored with my inside workouts. We just picked up Wii Active, both the old and new games. It's definitely a better workout and still fun.

Cottage - What I could do with a dumpster and a few hours of DW away from home  There are days I think that's the only way I'll ever get all this clutter out of here.
Hope your work doesn't take up all your weekend and you get a chance to enjoy the sunshine.

Ruth - Good morning to you :)

It's a catch-up in the office kind of day for me. I've been out since Monday so lots of paperwork and some reporting to get done. Should make the day pass pretty well for a Friday. I'm definitely going to squeeze a walk in too.

We are going to the coast again. The weather is perfect and the birds are just starting to move. It will be a great weekend to be at our favorite birding spot. I so love that DW has increased her fitness level. We will walk and walk both days. Makes a very nice weekend :)

For now it's time to feed the cats (they are staring at me. I am not supposed to post before I feed them ;)). Then off to do some yoga. Here's to a pleasant and drama free Friday!

03-05-2010, 07:28 AM
I've been waiting for Friday alllll week! Morning :)
Okie - I don't know how you do it on such little sleep. Do you nap?

Kara - Hope your skype date went well. When will Tom be back?

Cat - Zumba sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe i'll look into it when my slim in 6 videos start getting boring.

Cottage - Hope you had a nice date with wii fit. I feel like i'm the only one that doesn't have one. I know it yells at you if you miss a day or two.

Morning Ruth. Hope you're feeling well today.

Cyndi - hope you have lovely walking weather all weekend. What birds are out around this time of year? All I know about are the chickadees.

This weekend my main goal is starting/finishing report cards for my 24 kindergarteners. Parent teacher conferences is approaching and the report cards are due to our supervisor on Monday. By this time, I'm fairly good at turning the comment "your child talks constantly" into "needs to realize when it's a talking time and when it's a listening time".

I am looking forward to coming home from school and napping. Yay Friday! Hope everyone enjoys their day :)

03-05-2010, 07:40 AM
Cat, he's living in a tent with about fifty Army guys, so there won't be any misbehaving. ;) I'm interested to hear your review of the Zumba workout. My aerobics teacher just went to a class and said it wasn't a very difficult workout at all. She said she didn't sweat the whole time. I wonder if the teacher she had kept the intensity very low or something.

Linda, are you still liking the step riser? I'm thinking about ordering one.

Ruth, I'm so sorry to hear about that house fire for your neighbors. What a tragedy! I'd definitely keep the windows closed today. Hope the folks looking at the table go off with it so you can put up your pretty new one. I love cherry wood. Our bedroom set is cherry.

Cyndi, did you ever make that trip out to Sacramento?

Lauren, your creative report card writing is funny! Tom has to do that, too, for his airmen that he supervises. They have to have all their lines justified, though, so we're always looking through the thesaurus for words that are specific lengths. Sometimes the military is very silly. Tom gets home on the 20th and we can't wait!

Connor came home with another SUPER smiley face today! AND his teacher wrote a note that he's going to be spending the math hour in the fourth grade classroom from now on (he's in second grade) because he's so far ahead of his class. Yay Connor!!!

03-05-2010, 07:43 AM
Hi everyone! Okie, I'll chime in with the others. You need more sleep! Good for the mind, body and soul and weightloss.

Although I would usually weigh today, I'm not doing it. Between the stomach virus earlier in the week which caused no eating one day/very little the next and AF, who brought with her tons of retained water, whatever I weigh today is definitely not accurate, whether it is low or high. So, I'm just going to wait until next Friday. I might measure then too, just for kicks. It is the day before we leave for Florida so hopefully there will be some good news.

We're going to New Hope, PA for the weekend, and then I'll spend the week getting ready for our Florida trip. I'm also toying with the idea of consulting a holistic nutritionist about my perimenopause issues. I'm totally supportive of alternative medicine, but I've had some odd experiences with herbs lately and think I'd rather go the nutritional route for a change. I'll keep everyone posted.

03-05-2010, 07:57 AM
Good morning ladies!

Okie, I asked the other day but either missed your answer or you didn't see my post - have you started dancing yet? I'm glad you're so happy on SBD. I feel so much better, too and that makes it so much easier to say no thanks to the junk food that seems to be everywhere in my world! lol

Kara, I was going to tell you to enjoy your Skype date - but I'm sure you will so I'll just send you a . Oh I just saw your update - :carrot: Way to go Connor!

Good morning Cat, I always have to go in early the day after a sub too - I'm never sure exactly what will be waiting for me..... I hope you're pleasantly surprised this morning. :)

Good luck getting all the little things on your list taken care of today Linda. I hope they'll be time for some relaxation too.

Hey Ruth - are you making fun of my porch? :p
I hope the people love your dining room set and you can get the new one inside very, very soon.

Cyndi, I had to LOL at your comment about the dumpster and some time at home alone. My DH is heading to Pennsylvania on Tuesday and I've been jokingly threatening to weed out his 'corner' of the living room while he's gone..... I wouldn't really do that to him but he's a horrible pack rat. The thought of renting a dumpster while he's away is a very, very fun thought... :)

Hi Lauren, I'm working on report cards this weekend, too. Wednesday was the first day since I got it that I didn't use my wii fit plus. I wondered/worried what the little balance board would say when I turned it on last night, but all I got was a mild, "Too busy to work out yesterday, Heidi?" I have to admit I am kind of sad though. I had been getting compliments every day - "every day for 21 days" etc. Ah well.

Have a great trip Mmck! I'm not sure where New Hope is, but I hope your weather is great.

Things are kind of rough around here right now. My Dad is back in the hospital and my mother in law is not doing well either. My husband is flying to PA on Tuesday to spend some time with his family and I'll head to MA this evening or tomorrow morning depending on what I hear later today. They've both been ill for a long time now, so none of this is a surprise, it's just hard. And up til now we've been blessed to have them going through bad spells in turns - not both at the same time - so Fergie and I are feeling kind of shell shocked these days.

Well, on that gloomy note, I'll sign off and head to school. The good news is once I get there I have no time to think of anything else. :) Enjoy your Friday friends!

03-05-2010, 08:02 AM
Heidi  good luck this weekend.

03-05-2010, 08:06 AM
Good morning chickies!!

Okie - I agree on the sleep thing too...but did you say you had depression (or similar) issues? I know depression can really interfere with sleeping too (at night anyway!), and I'm hoping this means SBD is helping you with your sleeping? How can you wait til the 15th?!?!? I'm excited for you!

Kara- Hmmm...these ladies gave me ideas about having a skype date with myDH though ;) :D. Enjoy your time!

Cat - hope the day goes well and you don't have a mess to clean up! Keep us posted on the ZUmba!

Cottage - enjoy your niggle day :D

Ruth - I'm still just in awe that you had your window open. Awe.

Cyndi - Enjoy your weekend!! (sounds more relaxing than my vacation!)

Lauren - you must be a saint for being a kindergarten teacher. I was very proud of my 5 yr old (preK) report card recently :D.

MMCK - probably wise choice on the scale thing! Let us know if you get any info from a nutrionist. My grandma hit menopause at 38 (!) so it could any time for me. I hope not, just hearing of all the weight gain, etc.! (where's new hope? We're flying out of Harrisburg)

Me - FIRST DAY OF VACATION!! First cup of coffee! Isn't life great? (and my little boy sitting next to me reading everything....giggling....he loves those dancing carrots....)

I took today off too, which is to myself! I haven't checked the weather yet, but I'm hoping to go on a long run outside. No plans for Saturday yet, but Sunday we'll go to Harrisburg to make our flight out Monday easier. The hotel has a water slide and indoor mini golf course, so that should be lots of fun. Then we fly to Orlando to visit my parents. THAT is a bit stressful. Not as bad as originally thought, since we got a rental car and will go off on our own a few days (my dad is a stroke victim and is unable to get out long). My parents haven't seen DS in 2 years, DD in one year. Pathetic, huh?

I told my mom I don't want to eat TOO crazy, but I do plan on some good seafood! (NSV: I was going to grab something on the way home, since everyone else did, but couldn't think of something healthy that sounded, I made the crack slaw last night when I got home!! YUM!)

Have a great Friday ladies!

Heidi - sorry about your parents, I know how hard that is. I hope you get a bit of time to relax this weekend.

03-05-2010, 08:12 AM
Mmckellen, have fun in New Hope! We used to go up there every year with my grandmother. She always let us wear her lip stick and eat Rollos. Isn't it funny that's what I remember?

Heidi, I'm sorry to hear about your dad and mother-in-law. I hope your visits mean a lot to them and that you can feel good about seeing them.

Tammy, enjoy your vacation! It sounds like you've got a good idea with that rental car. Yay for your NSV!!!

03-05-2010, 08:14 AM
Happy Happy Friday! I get off work early today too because I had to work late last night. Yay!

I can't stay long this morning. Auston got in trouble at school yesterday, acting the fool. He pulled a Yellow Apple, which means he also got in trouble at home. This morning, "we" must go to the school to apologize to the teacher.

Ruth, One of our local communities had to pass an ordinance that it was illegal to keep a sofa on the front porch. Crazy! :D

Everyone else -- I hope it's a sunny, fast day for you! Bring on Happy Hour!

03-05-2010, 08:41 AM
Heidi, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I hope the weekend goes well.

Mmc, have fun in New Hope! Ruth and I had plans to meet a friend there, but had to cancel at the last minute. I plan to take her there, though, when she comes to visit me again. I hope you find a good nutritionist to help you deal with perimenopause! I swear that lots of green tea helped me sail through with very minimal problems.

Twynn, I could not wait for menopause to happen, and never had any side effects from it, except for minor hot flashes. I refused to go on HRT, and pretty much sailed through effortlessly.

Kara, congratulations to Connor! Math seems to be his forte!

Twynn, happy 1st day of vacation!

Hi to Ruth, Cyndi, and anyone else who's reading this.

Well, it's almost 8, the morning is half over! I'd better get off the computer and do something productive. See you all later!

03-05-2010, 08:53 AM
Hey guys! I have started dancing (30 mins a day). I do sleep, not just at normal hours. Thanks for caring about me! It means alot! I'll be weighing in on the 15th of every month from now on! I went a whole month not weighing when I first started, lol.

03-05-2010, 09:00 AM
Good morning my little chickadees:)

Okie - I am glad you are still happily moving along on SB. Weekend... yay!

Kara - Enjoy your online time with Tom. Sleeping in... I can never get my body to cooperate. Cudos to Connor!

Cat - I love when I work hard enough to sweat!

Linda - You sound busy today. I have been ignoring my niggles for a long time now. Someday soon.

Ruth - LOL picturing you as a redneck. That wedding bit is a teaser for us newbies.

Cyndi - Your weekend plans sound lovely. Your cats and birds remind me... my 80 year old friend, who is in a small apartment, can only fit a small Christmas tree. She covers it with cat ornaments and one bird ornament for them all to drool over.

MJ - You sound very tactful. I hope you have supportive parents.

Mmc - Your plan to wait to weight sound smart. You are much more patient than I am!

Heidi - I'm so sorry to hear about your family members being unwell. I have empathy with the shell shocked feeling right now. I will keep you all in my thoughts.

Twynn - Happy vacation!!! Here's more giggles for you son:carrot::carrot:I had crack slaw yesterday too. Yum. I hope your trip goes well.

Chelby - Yellow Apple is an interesting term for it.

Yesterday in the midst of all the craziness I did not get to yoga but I took two walks outside. In the warmth and sunshine! Woo hoo. (One time I spent most of it on the phone, but that was okay.) DH and I would love to ride bikes since the weather should hold but I hesitate in case my mom calls and needs me. Hard to talk on the phone while holding handlebars. Funny how I am just craving exercise with all this stress going on.

03-05-2010, 09:02 AM
Good Morning:sunny:

Okie, I'm always glad to hear from you when I check in early. I think it's really great that you're not obsessed with the scale. It's been one of my blessings this time around. If you're eating OP the weight come off and you know it just takes time! I understand how it is too have different sleep cycles than the rest of the world. I do my best, and sometimes do like you did the other day-sleep for 12-14 hours. I feel like you do the best you can, too.

Heidi, I'm so sorry to hear your Dad and Fergie's Mom have both had another downturn with their health. I am happy for you to have your own health/food issues on the positive side while all these things are happening which are so out of your control. Take care, friend, and be safe if you choose to drive tonight.

Kara, I looked to see if you had another :yay: chalked up! You do, congrats and I'm glad you have an easy day planned tomorrow. Kudos to Conner, too!

Cat, it's always nice to hear from you during the week but sorry you had to miss the gym!

Linda, your ability to stay cheery during messy house moments inspires me. I hope you're enjoying your coffee with your chores this morning.

Ruth, I can arrange a scruffy old hound dog and probably even an old p/u seat  The cherry table sounds beautiful although I'd be a bit nervous with it being outside. I looked-no bingo today-enjoy!

Cyndi, enjoy your catch up day while you anticipate your weekend birding. It's so good to hear DW has increased her fitness level.

Lauren, I hope you think of something fun inbetween your report cards this weekend.

Mmc, it sounds like a busy day for you and a great weekend planned. A holistic nutritionist sounds like a very good idea-as does not weighing in today.

Twynn, enjoy your day, although I'm sure it will be very busy. What a blessing to get to step out of your cold weather for a bit.

Chelby, oops, sorry you have to go to school with Auston today. Plan ahead for your weekend food and remember Florida...don't let the stressful stuff get in the way of your success!

Me, totally amazed how we "cyclone" our way through our house when we're here. We got here Tuesday, were gone all day yesterday, and it looks like someone came in while we were away and churned up a mess. Potted plant spilled on the floor in the laundry room, pile of clean laundry in the tv room, Bing peed in the living room last night, a huge pot of chicken soup stock needing a sort....where to start?? Here, with coffee. I'm going to start the whirlwind cleanup tour very soon because...

I'm going skiing today!!! Yesterday was super fun and super busy. We met Mom and Sis at Sherpa House for lunch, saw Kirks DR, went to Costco, got a call that my Moms fav BBall player was signing autographs, met everyone for dinner and hit numerous thrift stores and REI's to put my ski outfit together. Sis and I are going to give a go at the local area, after I visit the chiropractor. The funny thing yesterday, is that I got this autograph from my Mom's favorite Nuggets player, which she promptly grabbed from me when I showed it to her. She wanted it, and I said (jokingly) I'd trade her for an old Navajo pawn necklace that I've wanted for years-she agreed(??!!)-and we both seem to be happy with the "trade".

Have a great day everyone!  to everyone I'll miss later..

03-05-2010, 09:20 AM
Just quick checkin right now super busy wfh but have to get everyone ready to go to school.

Will try to come in for personals later this afternoon.

03-05-2010, 09:24 AM
Hi Karen-missed you in the simulpost. I'm glad to hear you're thinking about exercise-I think it's a good sign. I'm always on call with my Mom, so when I ride my bike I always have my cell. There are many times I stop and take a moment to call her back. Take care today, as you move through your stressful situation.

03-05-2010, 10:24 AM
Morning chickies -

I didn't plan my day and now I feel like I am scrambling. I was looking at breakfast options and see two juice joint places nearby but don't want to go the juice route nor the Starbucks route. Grrrrr. I hate having worked late last night!!!

I think I may have some veggies and hummus in the work to think about lunch. Oh and my darn spaghetti squash, after 2 weeks, went bad so last night I had another quesedilla. Grrrr. Just call me Angry Jenn today.

 to all

03-05-2010, 10:33 AM
Angry Jenn, It's Friday! Smile! :D

03-05-2010, 10:41 AM
Michelle, I think it's admirable that you had Auston apologize. I do that with Connor as well. In fact, Wednesday night he had to apologize to the acolyte coordinator, the pastor, and the lector at church because he was not behaving himself when he was supposed to be acolyting.

Karen, I find that exercise helps a LOT with stress. Everybody always used to ask me in high school why I was so happy all the time and I would tell them it was because I had the vault! Running fast and pounding on that springboard helps get rid of a lot of stress!

Debbie, I've been 100% on plan since before Tom left, and once he left I started calorie cycling. I want to look my best when my man gets home!

Rose, hope your morning goes smoothly!

Jenn, sorry about the crazy day. One minute at a time and you'll be through in no time flat!

I just found out that a local church is playing the new Veggie Tales movie tonight so I'm surprising the kids and taking them. They are going to be SO excited!

03-05-2010, 11:11 AM
Good morning, everyone. I tried to get here before work, but as I was walking to the computer, I noticed that the bed wasn't made, towels were on the floor, the bathroom counters needed to be wiped down and etc. Long story short, in spite of waking up early, I still barely made it to work on time.

I've been doing well on P1, with just two small slip-ups so far. I'm feeling great and have lots of energy, but I also feel like I have a cold coming on, so that's not good. I'm going to stay optimistic that it's just allergies.

Well, off to work I go! Lots of paperwork today, so I doubt I'll be back. See you this weekend!

03-05-2010, 11:28 AM
lol Chelby, that made me laugh!

So I made a cup of coffee, read through the threads and decided I'm not angry anymore. I ate my veggies and hummus for breakfast (as coworkers came in with their potatoes and bacon and said, "Oh Jenn, I hate you! You're so healthy!") and have decided to try the Vegan/Veggie/Closest thing to it around here Joint for lunch. Any suggestions? ( I was thinking AJ’s Own Wrap or the Roasted Portabello & Red Pepper Wrap assuming I can get a whole wheat wrap.

I also decided to leave ON TIME tonight and head to Whole Foods to satiate my craving for salmon and pick some up for dinner.

Oh and a NSV for me last night/today? I am finding it easier to walk up the Metro escalators as of late! Even the giant one at my home stop (I will try and grab a picture of it tonight)! I used to always stand and not walk up because of the silly pressure to climb the stairs quickly (Here on escalators it's standers to the right and walkers on the left). But now I'm even keeping up with the military folk!

03-05-2010, 11:44 AM
Enjoyed everyone's posts. Today I am buying car insurance. I haven't driven for 6 years and the insurance companies are calculating me as a new driver ($3,000 to $4,000 a year yikes!) Just bought a 2006 toyota corolla. One model that hasn't been recalled.

Will be looking forward to the weekend in New Jersey. Supposed to be sunny for two days in a row and temperatures up to 55 degrees. I am going tomorrow to Red Bank just to walk around. Look at the antique shops and the thrift store.

Have a great day everyone--glad your here.

Good morning, all.. I'm not really awake yet so please bear with my post if it gets a little odd. The coffee hasn't kicked in yet. lol

Okie - Very glad you got some sleep! Hope that you can work up to an 8 hour interval. Sleep is my favorite. lol

Kara - awww a skype date! that's awesome! and nice too that you can wind down with less to do today and tomorrow. yay for relaxation! it's good for the soul :) and WOW about Connor's math abilities! That is really cool!

Cat - Woo! Zumba! Definitely tell us how those go. I'm planning to start classes at the YMCA in the next couple of weeks. I've seen a live demonstration plus vids on youtube and it just looks soooo fun!

Cottage - Sounds like you have a lot of things to do today. I'm noticing how busy EVERYONE seems to be.. and yet you all seem to get your exercise in. I hope I have the motivation to do that. You all certainly are inspiration. :) Have a good wii-fit workout!

Ruth - Sounds nice to sit outside... I LOVE that morning ritual for myself in the spring and summer. Except this year I am a non smoker. I hope I don't crave too badly from the 'ritual' of smoking and having coffee on the deck. Your new dining table in CHERRY! Love love love cherry. I'm sure you'll be very excited to get the new table IN the house!

Cyndi - your weekend sounds wonderful! Birds are interesting creatures. I've just started watching them more in the last few years. For living where I do right now... I still have a good mixture of bird types. I also pay attention to the symbolism of the bird types in my life at different times. What is your favorite bird?

Lauren - hahaha... love the way you "word" things for the parents. too funny. the thought of 24 kindergarteners makes me tired. oh the patience you must have!

Mmck - sounds like you have a couple nice little getaways planned! have a good time!

Heidi - Lots of hugs your way.:hug::hug::hug:

Twynn - Enjoy your vacation! I'm sure your parents will be very happy to see you and DS, DD.

Chelby - Whats a yellow apple? After going to see the teacher, I hope your day is much brighter! :)

Karen - there just is something about exercise that purges negativity, don't you think? :)

Debbie - haha you crack me up! I was completely visualizing you 'cycloning' through the house.

Pearlrose - Hi! Bye! have a great day! LOL

The chick formerly known as Angry Jenn - glad you aren't angry anymore. happy Friday! tee hee

Kim - aww, sorry to hear you're coming down with a cold. Stay strong on P1.. and if you think you're gettin sick, make up a batch of chili or other p1 thick soup. Total comfort food and still on plan! Get well soon!

Sharon - holy moly thats expensive car insurance! Shopping sounds fun, though! Browsing and/or buying always makes me feel a little better lol

Me -- wow i think it took me an hour to read through all that and get everyone's personals done! But it's nice because I get to know you all a little better in the process. :)

Last night karaoke idol was insane. It's a long story but it has turned into Karaoke Survivor ... I'm sure you can imagine the shenanigans going on just based on the "name change" lol The 80's music and dress was awesome though. We had a GREAT time despite the drama.

Yesterday I saw my psychiatrist and we changed my meds (because my insurance won't cover the one I'm on). I'm scared to change it up because this is the ONLY one thats ever worked for me. Plus what he put me on apparently causes weight gain by slowing the metabolism. I told him if my metabolism gets any slower it's going to fall asleep. He said I can combat some of it by diligently exercising and eating right... so there's just ANOTHER reason to stay on track.

I hope to come to terms with it all as the weight comes off and I get into a work out routine... but right now I'm really, really worried to gain any more weight. I SUCK at real long term discipline and at this point, I don't see a choice but I'm still worried I'll mess up. So I will definitely have to be around here all the time for the support you all give... and to keep me honest and motivated.

Today I think I will be taking my financial application to the YMCA so hopefully soon I can start working out there and zumba-ing!

Have a blessed and on plan day!

Hello Everyone!

Okie: Wow I am amazed at how you get by on so little sleep. I couldn't do that.

Kara: Hope you enjoyed "skyping" w Tom.

Cat: Enjoy your Zumba.

Cottage: Good job taking care of those odds & ends though I'm sure you can think of better ways to spend a Friday.

Ruth: Your new dining room sounds nice. I would love to sit out on a porch but my apartment only affords a small balcony...not much sitting space.

Cyndi: Love, love watching the birds too. The jays always crack me up even if they are bullies. Our jays try to beat up on the neighbor's chickens!!!

Lauren: Bless you for your tact & ability to deal with kinderdgartners & their parents.

Mmck: Hope you have fun this weekend.

Heidi: Sry for the stress you're going theu w your parents right now.

Chelby: Hope your day gets better after the mtg @ school.

karen: Glad you're finding a good outlet to deal with your parental caretaker stress

Debbie: I love how you & your Mom made a trade..very cool

Jenn: Glad your day got better.

Kim: Sry you don't feel well. Heres hoping its only allergies.

Sharon: Love your avatar.

Kari: I hope your transition to your new med goes smoothly. I understand not wanting to be on a med that slows your metabolism. I used to take a med like that for my epilepsy but they later changed it. It was frustrating to be on a med the whole time that slowed me down but all I could do was control the factors, I could control. So just keep on doing what you're doing here to feel well.

As for myself, I just have chores and errands planned today. Yesterday was a total loss as I started feeling poorly midday & I just went back to bed:(. I did weigh myself this AM and my scale shows I am down 4lbs but I don't think thats entirely accurate as I was sick w stomach issues yesterday.

Have a Happy Friday everyone!!

Debbie - Busy! I hope you have fun skiing. REI here I come:)

Rose and Sophie - Hope you have a great day.

Jenn- Oh no... I better check on my own squash sitting there waiting for me. I refuse to call you by that name:) But I can hear your teeth grinding half way across the country! Just got to you second post. Glad your day is going better.

Kara - Veggie Tales. How will that be for you to sit though?

Kim - Sounds like things are going well. Do you ever take Airborn? I am not sure it keeps the cold away but have been dosing myself the last few days and feel better.

Sharon - We own two Toyotas. (One is my college son's.) Now DH is thinking we should buy another because he thinks the prices on new ones will plummet. Have fun this weekend. BTW - my son is very close to NJ at the edge of PA. Nice to know he will be getting better weather.

Kari - I can understand your worry. I know that hanging out here really does help me with motivation. Which is why you might see me so often:)

Sue - Sorry you weren't feeling well. But you must be doing better given your plans for the day.

I am back from BOSU class (since mom obviously could not make our usual Friday workout) and waiting for my crack slaw to digest a bit before I hit the bike. I think I will need sunscreen today!

Kim, I hope you feel better soon!

Jenn, I used to shop at Whole Foods a lot when Connor had all of his allergies (and wheat-free stuff wasn't available in regular grocery stores). I heard someone once (I think it was Zeffryn) call it Whole Paycheck. Man, could I spend some money in that store! I prefer Wegman's now, but of course we don't have either stores over here.

Sharon, good luck with the car insurance search!

Kari, hope all goes well with the medication switch.

Sophie, so glad to hear your weather is nice! We've been having sun but coldness still. I miss the warm!

Sue, I hope you feel 100% soon!

Karen, I absolutely love the Veggie Tales! We had fun at the movie and the kids really thought it was a treat. They're off to bed now and I have quiet time. :)

Kara- Wegman's is a 30 minute+ ride out from us (vs. Whole Foods 7 min) but either store, I can spend a paycheck! Actually in *any* grocery store!

Kara - So glad you liked it. I saw Up, but that was the last kid movie I have seen in many years.

Jenn - How is your day going? I went to a Wegman's near my son's college. DH and I loved it! Of course that was in a non-diet phase of my yo-yo years so we bought a bunch of bad stuff.

DH and I rode out bikes outside today; first time since November. I miscalculated our route and we went 20 miles (instead of the 15 I had planned). The headwind was killing me. As was DH who was kicking my butt despite his 90 minute treadmill run this morning!

I hope he and I can watch some TV tonight. We have soooo many shows on our Tivo that I cannot believe it.

Well didn't get back in time to get personals done before everyone was pretty much done for the day.

I did get my workout in during lunch today

We thought my DS truck alternator or starter was bad and had it in the shop come to find out the new battery we had to get in Jan of this year was bad. So that was good news that it was not a more expensive repair and the battery was replaced free of charge and they tested the new one to make sure it was good. Have to pay $50 though to mechanic just for checking out the car but I am still happy about how it turned out.

See everyone in the morning, hope you enjoy your evening.

Karen, that's quite a miscalculation! Glad you made it outside, though!

Rose, what great news to hear about the battery, and they replaced it for free, too! Yay!
