Hello everyone! :)

June 21st is the first full day of Summer. Wouldn't it be awesome to begin Summer in Onederland? Who's with me?

To join me on my quest:
Post your current weight, or pounds left before you enter Onederland.
Post each week with your progress, with a final weigh-in on June 21st.

My weigh-in day is on Saturday, so that's the day I'll post, post any day you like, as often as you like. Maybe if we band together as a team to support and encourage each other, we can make it to Onederland by the time Summer officially starts!

Count me in too. I only weigh in every 2 weeks because I develop a severe case of scale obsession otherwise. My last weigh in was 232.5 on Feb 22 and the next time I check will be Monday, the 8th.
I wish I could have a signature so I could keep track with a ticker!

Personally, I would love to join, but I feel I'm just not close enough... Since I'm pretty pleased with the rate I'm losing and don't want to fail the challenge, I will just wish everyone the best of luck!! I hope you all succeed!! And maybe, just maybe, I can make it there before fall!!

Well with the challenge of this group, I decided to book a trip to the French Riviera in September! It's a place that I've wanted to go but was apprehensive because of my weight. The last time I was in France was when I was at least 286! So needless to say I hope to be in onderland by then!

I don't weigh myself I just go for smaller sizes. But I will join in and weigh myself on the first day of summer and hopefully I will be in ONEderland. The irony is I don't know my current weight. So on the first day of summer I will be a happy girl. I'm excited. I will be smaller than I've been in a very long time, twenty years I know.

Thank you for creating this challenge! I have been wanting to participate in another weight-loss challenge. I am participating in a triathlon at the end of June and I would love to do it knowing that I am under 200 pounds. This may be a little ambitious but hey, nothing ventured, nothing lost! ;)

I'll join you. Time to get off my rear and back in the game. I have basically stalled since Feb. 1. Thirty pounds is a lot for me in that timeframe, but I will try.

I noticed that a lot of us are right around 229-230. :smug:

my loss has been pretty slow the last couple of months - 5 lbs a month in Jan and Feb. So 33.4 lbs by June 21 seemed VERY ambitious. But I've lost 4.4 lbs this past week, so hopefully, I found a way (using the GWF) to rev up my loss and make the remaining 29 lbs amount achievable in that time frame.

My sister in law and I were talking about the 10-15 we each put on over the winter and how in the summer it seems SO much easier to lose weight, after looking at what we've been eating vs activity level, we figured out, when its 32 or lower, noone wants that chilly fruit or frozen smoothie, we want warm, hearty soups, so my goal this summer is to find more calorie friendly soups for this upcoming winter, but with 65 degrees yesterday and 70s today, I noticed I instinctively reach for more fruits, cold veggies and -light- foods, and easily pass on the heavier stuff. (this is a hint to me that I was never meant for cold weather climes and that I should now move to the tropics)

I think we CAN and will do this :)

My official weigh-in for the past 2 weeks was today and - drum roll please - I'm down 6.5lbs! I've been stuck for a while so that is HUGE! I think I'll weigh every week (and hope the scale doesn't take over) just to encourage myself to come online to post the results and get motivated by all of you!

Angihas2 - I totally agree with you. I can lose weight in the summer, but I always seem to gain a bunch of it back come winter. This year WILL be different!

Hey ladies, and nice going!

I feel like I should invest in a new scale or something. The one I'm using is SUPER, way old and I'm not sure if it's as accurate as it should be anymore.
I weighed myself yesterday and came in at 238 (minus outerwear) for my first weigh in here, and then I went back later to weight my cat WITH clothes on, I came in a 235. I checked it twenty times after that and it stayed, so I'm not sure.

I did use the restroom before that and I have a ginormous bladder... so that could have had something to do with it? Maybe.

as someone who recently went through the experience of buying a new scale after losing 30 lbs, and having the new scale be significantly higher than the old one, I'd HIGHLY recommend buying a new one now, and using that for your starting weight.

And I can't even say exactly what the difference between the two was because the old scale would give me so many different numbers. I ended up with a 7 lb difference, which probably included some normal fluctuation TOM weight, but it was what the new scale said on the day I switched over so it's the number I went with. I'm still 1.4 lbs aware from my old number - this hasn't been fun, so if you are in a position to avoid it, by all means, do so!

Congrats everybody!! This is so exciting!!

I am down 2lbs this week to 220! I am one pound away from 20lbs, and 5 pounds away from losing my first 10%!!

I, too, am afraid that when I go back to America and use a more accurate digital scale that I will be higher... so I always shift around on this crazy cheap piece of junk and use the reading I get 5x out of 7!

I went around saying my weight was 220 at doctor's visits and stuff for a solid 4 years because I was too chicken to weigh myself! Slowly but surely... I can't wait for the "size whoosh" in ONEderland!!

I did the same thing for two years!! I just didn't want to look at that scale! Lol.

I think I've found a solution to my scale problem while being absolutely thrifty.
The family friend I babysit part time for has a nice, digital scale and I can use it at least twice a week.
I also made a workout schedule that fits in perfectly for me as I just don't have the funds for gym membership at the moment.

It gets me working out five days a week with two solid workouts, and the option to alternate two others. WOO! for motivation.

I have had a horrid day, but stayed on track. Storms and tornados ripped through the state last night, which meant no one slept nearly enough, topped with a cancelled stats class I drive 50 mins one way for, (it was the only one I could get into and I need it for my degree plan), and I didn't get the call until I was 5 miles from the exit, lab class, home with the kids and rearranging schedule while trying to figure out how to juggle everything I need to do. Thankfully, lifestyle change is almost 2nd nature because I ate on campus today which is usually a HUGE problem as they have everything under the sun and this teeny, tiny psuedo salad bar tucked off in a corner and a really tiny cooler of fresh fruits and yogurts on the other side of the dining area, so you're forced to walk through all the other food options, with their smells luring you in, I did glance through them all, before acknowledging it would simply be a light calorie day until I got home and walked out of there with 2 bottles of water, a yogurt/fruit parfait, granola on top, which I scraped off and half a multi grain bagel(which I made an employee go get nutrition info on) and peanut butter. I dont understand how this college can encourage fitness the way they do, then have the crappy food choices with very little healthier choices. Meh. Either way, it's home, I stayed on track and the day is more or less over.

I'm in a similar place - I have some temptations in the house because of having a kid (not awful stuff, but things like a 90 calorie fudgesicle that would be fine for me to have) but I'd rather get to Onederland, so it's easier to just say no!

Hi everyone,

I would like to join in. I am new to the forum, and am still looking around at all there is here. It is huge! I was happy to find this thread. I have made very rapid progress throughout my journey, but the loss has recently slowed/stalled. I have hit some major milestones recently: more than halving my BMI, more than halving my start weight, and officially being overweight instead of obese. I am confident that I can break through this rough patch and reach onederland (my next major milestone) by summer! And I look forward to following all of your journeys to onederland also. :)

Angihas, my home college is the EXACT same way. It's focus is sports and health but when it comes to meals, I've actually had to write the Dean on several occasions to ensure we had the salad bar at night (and we sometimes still don't.) Worse, no one seems to care. UGH!

(and by the way...CONGRATS on your victory over the cafeteria! That's no small feat!! :carrot:)

It looks like several of us are the same weight. I woke up feeling smaller in my clothes but the scale hasn't budged yet. so I do expect a drop in a day or two, especially after my Saturday morning hike. :)
I cant begin to tell you how this thread has given me an added spark to my day :)

We're all doing great!!! We should add up our weight loss and see what we've lost together so far!

On my way back from the train station there was a bag of Doritos calling my name through the window of the convenience store... I almost went in but I did a weird little dance trying to correct myself to KEEP WALKING forward and tried to make like I tripped on a cobblestone! It must have looked pretty funny... but, end result: no Doritos tempting me in the cupboard!

Hello all.

I think I may have had an off day this weekend, but it is hard to tell. I was away most of the weekend and I didn't journal Saturday or Sunday. I was out on Friday and did journal (cause I was home most of the day) and I ended up making the right choices and eating way under my daily calories (like 600 calories under :(). I kept making good choices, but I never made the time to figure out how many calories were in the food I was eating.

On the bright side, I got exercise, and as of this morning I am down, so it couldn't have been that bad.

Morning Gals.....well yesterday I woke up with the one lb I have been fighting....then this morning i woke up with, another lb...grrr but later I Started my monthlies, So on one hand I feel great knowing that I am still on track but on the other hand....I just tell myself it is water gainbloat...etc. How much does your weight fluctuate during your monthlies? I need support talk to me ladies?

As of today I am down to 221. Only 22lbs until onderland. I am so close! Close compared to what I was before. It's hard to fathom that last year I was 260lbs and wore a size 22 and was 61lbs from the 100's. Now I am 22 from the 100's and wearing 18's. YAY! My 22's literally fall down when I walk. If it wasnt for the fast that I have hips they would completely drop off lol.

Lord, the new schedule is killing me! And my eating habits. 3 nights a week, I now work 7p-7a, 4 nights a week I work 7p-7a, M-W-F, I have classes from 8 am to noon, T and Th, classes at 925 am, and on Th a lab from 1-430. Add in 2 nights a week of soccer practice, 1 night a week of baseball and Saturday 9 am dance class, and I'm just pooped. I've been a single mom for 4 years now and for some reason I really thought it got easier as they got older? HAHAHA

I'm still losing, only about a lb a week, but that pound a week adds up when you do it long enough and I know once I get used to this schedule, I'll get the new nutrition figured out. It's hard to 'allow' myself to eat, mentally while at work, because for so long, my mindset is, "Kitchen closes at 7pm", yet I can't go 16 hours without food, you know? meh, I'm just having a 'WTH DID I AGREE TO' moment.

Congrats to all of us though, for sticking this out and continuing to work towards a more fit self.

*Edited to add, the 3 and 4 nights a week for work alternate, I don't work 7 nights a week :|

I've spent the past two days totally pigging out because of my Birthday. The day before my sister came over and we had icecream. Then I had two handfuls of macaroons. The next day I planned to bake myself a sugar-free cake, but my mom bought cake from the store and gave me a slice. I totally annhilated it. :P I also had Subway, which isn't great when you're supposed to be cutting back on carbs. But I'm totally back on track now. Right now I'm at 219 with TOM in town, and I'm hoping those 4 pounds are just water weight.

seeing some great progress here!

I'm still at 225.4 but since that was after gaining 4 lbs earlier this week thanks to being sick, I'm pretty happy to be back at ticker weight today, and know I'll keep moving forward now. I guess it's easier for me to look at it as a week lost in terms of my time frame, but no weight gain is good considering!

My original goal was to be to 199 by May 1st. If I stay at the pace I am going right now, with NO plataues at all I think I can do it. I am down this morning to 217, which is lower than my pre-pregnancy weight by 1lbs. SO exciting.

I'd be posting more often if I was having better progress - right now, my weight is up a couple of pounds, which I think is TOM related as I've been on plan all week.

I will update tomorrow which is my official WI day, although I think I will have to change my ticker upwards, sadly. And it's not like I even had a good time getting there! lol! But I don't like having to work my way back down to my ticker, if I have a loss, I want to be able to count it!

slimsilhouette, sometimes, especially in the summer I -gain- for no reason. As soon as the humidity increases, my activity increase, my water increases I do gain, but it flushes off fairly quickly as long as I keep busy. I'm originally from Alabama, but I live in Arkansas right now, and the same ting happens here. Humidity goes up, my body starts to retain more water and sodium. Just keep plugging away.

I'm still trying to make onderland by summer a realistic goal! But I've decided that as long as I'm in onderland during the summer I'll be happy too!

4/9/10 225.4 (lost .4 lbs - stupid TOM!)

Getting closer! And I have officially lost 100 lbs total!

I haven't updated for a while, and I'm slightly higher than my ticker right now due to a temporary spike, but that's what I'll put as my CW since things seem to be going back down to where I was.

I would love to say I'd be out of the teens by 6/21 but I know I'm a slower loser than that. I certainly plan to see some more progress by then, and I'm working my way through my own version of this challenge and hope that I'll make it to Onederland before the summer ends.
