Originally, I was going to do this on the MARCHing into Onederland thread, but it just didn't feel right to me - that is such a huge achievement that I didn't want to dilute it.

But I also thought that daily weigh ins might motivate me so I'm giving it a shot and everyone is welcome to join in!

oh, good, glad to have some people join me!

With the Gowear Fit I just started using, it wants me to input my weight daily, so I figured that I should see if I can make this motivating instead of just scary. I used to try to only weigh once a week, now I was weighing most days but not every day and only counting it once a week. So daily weights that actually get recorded are new for me!

The scale budged! I no longer weigh 198.4. I weigh 199. :( So the game is, eat less...gain weight. Got it. :D

I had a good day yesterday. I ate only 1200 calories and I was starving most of the day, so I thought surely I would have good results. Ah well...there's always tomorrow.

PeanutsMom704
03-03-2010, 07:50 AM
Sorry Eliana, but hang in there.

FWIW, I generally see the results of a good day (or a bad one!) on the scale 2 days later, so I bet your good day yesterday shows up tomorrow.

Sorry Eliana, but hang in there.

I like your way of thinking. :D Perhaps so.

I did another round of HIIT this morning, which was bringing me a 1 lb loss the next day. That hasn't worked for a couple weeks now, but I've also been sick and not quite giving it my all. Today I gave it my all plus. So....come on, come on.

On the plus side, my once too-tight-to-wear-in-public-but-wore-them-anyway-pants feel really comfy. Not loose...just perfect like. I'm not saying I've lost inches while staying stagnant. It's possible, but it's been a while since I last donned these pants. Still, it reminds me that this IS working, if not quite on my timeline.

and hello Shylah. I've never been a daily weigher, at least not in terms of officially counting vs. just looking for some general trends. So it's been a little scary but so far, so good.

This sounds fun. I usually weigh daily, but only "count" one day a week. I need the daily weigh in to keep me on track though so this is a fun thread for me.

Hi Friends! Great motivational tool here! I'm in! Whatever I can do to put the journey in the forefront of my mind. I hope to get into the 250's this month, so this will help! I weigh every day (2-3 times, if I'm being honest) but only count my Monday am weight. This month, I'll count every day! This might be a good tool too to spot trends like TOM, and weight fluctuations after a sodium filled meal...etc! Thanks for the thread!

1. 261.1
2. 261.0
3. 261.4 (guess I didn't need that beer with dinner?) ;)
4. 260.4

6. 256
7. 258 (wtf?) Not TOM, had a big poop yesterday, stayed totally on plan. *sigh* Oh well!
8. Forgot to weigh in today, darn it!
9. 259.4 damn, damn, damn.
10. 257.8 :-) That's more like it! At least it's a downward trend again.
11. 257.8
12. 257.4 Really? .4?? Better .4 down than .4 up!!
13. 258.8 Getting frustrated with this bounce.
14. 258.8
15. 256 9 damn days later, I'm back at 256. Hmmm, frustrating!
16. 256
17. 256 (noticing a pattern here?)
18. 258 (eek! darn you, corned beef and cabbage)
19. 260 Holy crap.

I have "forgotten" to weigh sometimes. Not in the sense of completely forgetting that I'm trying to lose weight, but I might have some water before realizing that I haven't weighed yet and then not bothered because I knew it would be off.

But between needing to update my GWF weight each day and then posting here, I expect I won't be forgetting any time soon!

I may even start updating my ticker more often too!

PeanutsMom704

Kayhm0711
03-03-2010, 02:20 PM
Well I had been bouncing back and forth between 229-228. One day it would 228.2 then 228.6 then 229.6 then 228.6 then 229.2 it was all over lol. I am so happy it finally went down. I think I realized yesterday how it works. I have to eat more. Some days I was hardly getting 1000 calories. But yesterday I listen to my body and ate when I felt hungry even if it was after 7PM. I ate lots of fruits and veggies too. And TONS of water. I think by the end of the day I was between 1300-1400 calories.

I am not going to change my ticker until I have been at that weight for atleast 2 days or it goes down farther then 225.2 tomorrow.

PeanutsMom704
03-04-2010, 07:43 AM

Eliana

I skipped the early morning workout today, so hopefully, I'll fit in a lot more activity throughout the course of the day. But if my "it takes 2 days to show on the scale" theory is correct, yesterday's good day with LOTS of activity and a 1300+ calorie deficit will show up tomorrow.

Well, I feel better today. My weight is still high, but I tried on a pair of jeans I've been trying to get into and couldn't believe they fit! I don't know why I tried. They did NOT fit last week at 198.4 but they slid on today at 199.6?? I don't know. It doesn't make sense. I haven't had sore muscles or anything, but I'll take it! I thought they would not fit for another 10 lbs!

I am down 4 lbs from yesterday. Can I say "Thank You Metamucil"? I don't mean to be gross at all but if you say, "Michelle, you are full of s***!" it would have been true as of yesterday. I was down 3 lbs this morning before the big poo and then being the gross weirdo that I can be, I weighed after too. Yuck! I think I need to eat more fiber or a different kind of fiber. I dunno.

And now back up 2? I don't get it. But I'm not worried, the overall trend is downward!!

I have been checking in with this site and watching the boards for a while~finally decided to join in! I am not very computer savy, so I don't have a weight-loss ticker or extras added to my profile. I would appreciate any help and support getting these added! I finally got serious about losing weight within the last month. Today's weigh in: 287. My goal is to lose 10% at a time; my next goal weight is 259 for a 28 pound loss. I am looking to support others in their journey as well as support for my journey! I have subscribed to this thread, so hopefully I will be able to find it again! (as I said earlier, I am not too computer savvy!)

I was having a problem in that area too (potty). Until I started drinking Dr. Oz's smoothie. Here's the link to his recipe. http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/food-talk-fabulous-finds/195740-dr-ozs-belly-fat-blasting-smoothie.html

The only thing I changed on his recipe was the amount of flaxseed. His recipe calls for 2 tablespoons, I only add 1 tablespoon.

I drink this every morning. I highly recommend it!! Before I was lucky to go #2 every other day, once every 3 days. Now I go every morning, never miss a day!

saksn4 -

Welcome!!! You'll get a signature after you've been posting for 20 days and have 20 or more posts. So you have to work for it - keep posting, so that everyone can give you support!! And just keep reading, you'll learn your way around.

I'm also very focused on 10% at a time - I had some good improvements in my lab work after my first 10%, so I think it's very true that 10% makes a big difference in your health.

Potty issues

I would recommend making sure you have sufficient fat in your diet. Being too low fat can cause issues.

Weird weigh in this morning. I had movie popcorn last night so I was expecting some water retention. Didn't get it. :D

Woke up at 6:00 and weighed in at 198. Ate nothing, went back to bed. Woke up at 9:30, had a BM(sorry) and weighed in at 198.4??? Makes no sense.

:hug:I am happy to see you here! It took me a little while to figure everything out here so I just lurked and read posts until I figured it all out. A great place to start is the Main Page at 3FC, this is the address
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/ Read everything you can at Announcements and Forum Help! At the top of the page. It's a great place to find out about tickers, blogs, etc.

Other than that...I think the friendliest place here is the 100lb club, to post here....http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/100-lb-club-55/ you can save that address on your favorites to come right back next time you visit without have to go to the main board, find Support Groups, then find the 100lb club. You'll meet more people posting a greeting on that page, just say "HI" and tell us a little about you and your journey... and of course, join the posts, commenting here and there...in no time you will be a regular!

Best wishes,
Michelle

up .4 for me.

This has been my pattern though, I see a bump on Mondays, which I think it is related to the extra exercise I do on weekends since I have more time - usually 2 to 3 times more than on weekdays.

I actually changed my official WI day to Saturdays because of it - I would consistently see lower weights towards the end of the week but be back up again on Monday.

So hopefully, my pattern will be the same, and I'll be heading back down within a day or 2.

I did skip dessert (was very hard to do!), and my dh and I went for a 2.5 mile walk after dinner! Hopefully tomorrow will be better! I am definetly watching everything today! And I wil do my walking exercise video tonight!!! Tomorrow should be better!

I was gone all weekend... BUT I was good and my WI definitely showed it!!!

Mar. 1st: 248.4
Mar. 2nd: Forgot!
Mar. 3rd: 249.4 - Slightly sore, hope it's just water weight.
Mar. 4th: 248.8 Still sore, and probably will be tomorrow from tonight's workout. But at least it went the right way!
Mar. 5th: 250.0 :(
Mar. 6th: No scale.
Mar. 7th: 248.8
Mar. 8th: 247.0

The scale actually bounced down to 246.8 and I did a little happy dance for the millisecond it showed. I'm sooooo hoping tomorrow shows that or lower! No excuse to not have an awesome cardio workout tonight!

This morning wasn't so good as it could have been. I was running late to class yesterday evening so I finished up my homework instead of exercising.

Today is a new day and I will be exercising right after work today. I have also lowered my calorie goal, because I was eating under them for several days in a row, (and losing in that time).

Congrats on everyone's loses.

Me, it's been a weird week. I'm covering someone else's job for the week and am having to wake at 4 am to get in my workout before heading out. I've been so down to the wire the last couple of days that I did not get a chance to weigh in. I hope I get a chance to tomorrow as I'd like to see where I'm at. My weight's up today, but I know it's salt from last night's chili! It's a bummer too because I was looking forward to that chili all week! I don't know where the salt came from but I'm guessing it was the canned chili beans in a seasoned sauce. I thought I'd used them before, but I guess not. It was funny though. I served it two of my friends and all of us were making jokes about swollen ankles in the morning.

How about "April-Spring Forth for daily weigh ins"?

I am loving this thread and definitely want to be a part of it next month and the next and the next. I find it very motivating to remember to weigh in daily, be accountable positive or negative for movement of the scale.

It also provides me with a daily reminder that I am on a quest to get healthy!! Now if I could just get the scale moving down a little quicker!! But that would entail making more drastic changes than I am ready for at this time.

I don't want to scare myself off with a big drastic change in either exercise or eating. I sabotage myself at the slightest provocation. I am more likely to be successful if the lifestyle changes become 2nd nature by dribs and drabs not something that happens overnight. I've come to know myself and am honest that there is some little part of my subconscious that wants me to be fat, fatter, fattest! That part of me would only be satisfied if I were the next person featured on A&E "900 lb woman". Little changes for me over a long time trick my subconscious into not freaking out!! ;)

I'm glad that so many people are finding this thread helpful - it's definitely been a big help for me too. I use the Points challenge and that also helps with accountability but the daily weigh in puts a different wrinkle on it. It's also been informational for me to see my patterns and be able to think about what I did or didn't do in connection with what the scale does. I know I don't have direct control, but sometimes there are things such as eating commercially prepared foods with lots of sodium that you do see the impact of.

Eliana

Saks, that's the attitude! LOL! I love thinking of my weight in terms of butter...or anything that weighs as much as I have lost. It's very motivational to keep getting it off. I'd like a few sticks removed from my thighs and belly please. :D

I think the water weight is still coming off me. Down just a bit today. But after HIIT I either gain a pound or lose a pound the day after. I haven't figured it out quite yet. I don't think my body has any kind of pattern for loss at all!! The only thing that is predictable is that it is totally unpredictable.

As for WI today... I sorta didn't. And by sorta I mean I didn't at all. I think I'm up, I feel it, but I slept in a little too late this morning. I didn't drink as much water as I'd have liked to and I'm pretty sure I had too much sodium yesterday after work. Hm. What is gowear?? I have seen this in a couple of posts.

Have you seen the biggest loser? It is the armband with electronic device they wear to measure calories, acitivity, steps. You can buy them for homeuse under the name GoWear Fit or BodyBugg if you get it through one of the 24Hour gyms.

I love mine. It has really motivated me to watch what I am eating and to move more. No more, naps with the kids. I know during that time I need to get up and get moving.

My favorite part is looking at how many calories I burned. Like yesterday was date night with DH. I knew that we would have a big meal so I did not each as much during the day and moved more so that I would have the calories I need to "spend" on dinner. I still ended up with a 1000 calorie deficit at the end of the day so I am still on path with my eating plan.

Michelle98272
03-13-2010, 10:23 AM
I weighed myself this am and am up 1.4 I know I didn't gain a whole pound and a half in 234 hours, it's water, sodium, poo....etc. But for craps sake!

I was super busy at work yesterday and skipped lunch. I had a bag of baby carrots....probably a whole pound of carrots! I ate that instead as I hurried through a project that had to be done. It hit the spot at the moment but right before bedtime my skipping lunch came back to haunt me. I was truly hungry so instead of just drinking my tea....I had to have a piece of toast with jam...and that was so good I had to have another piece of toast with jam. This was the BIG pieces of really good sour dough bread that bf has to have. Mmmmm....slathered in butter and topped with cherry jelly. Ugh!!

I got on the scale this am thinking of how low my calories were yesterday and then when I saw the 1.4 increase I remembered the toast slip. I figure that was probably 400 calories of toast, butter and jelly! All in all, my calories over the whole day were still low...300 calorie breakfast, 200 calorie all carrot lunch, 400 calorie dinner and 400 calorie bedtime slip...only equals 1300 calories WAY lower than my 1800 calorie daily total but...not healthy, not clean, not planned. I also didn't drink much water yesterday....and ate at 10pm.

If I do reasonable, rational things: eat breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks...that are healthy and for the most part clean, drink my water I seem to lose just fine. If I futz it up, over eat, drink beer (even if it's in my calories), skip meals...my body holds onto every ounce and then some.

*kicking myself in the azz* I know what I need to do!!

So glad to see March going well for most of us.

I need some energy. LOL! I've hit a rut. I've hit a I'm-hanging-in-but-not-feeling-it rut. It's probably a good thing...the new energy had to wear off eventually and life had to set in.

I was amused this morning. I didn't think much about weight loss this weekend. I was on plan, I ran through the motions, but I wasn't thinking much about it. So I was shocked to see a loss of 1 lb this morning. It's like I think I can somehow will the scale to move. If I wasn't obsessing about it, it can't move, right? LOL! It's a good lesson for me. Being on plan and patience is all it takes. I do not have to be loving it for it to work. I just have to work the plan...

saksn4
03-15-2010, 08:11 AM
Eliana-Keep on plan!! that is what works!
I am down .6 today. I stayed on plan yesterday, and drank enough water. My husband went for a walk, but I was lazy and didn't go :( I decided one day a week I will give myself a break, but still stay on plan.
How was everyone this morning after the weekend??? That is the hardest time for me!

I had a wild day yesterday...very productive business wise, with alot of good things taking shape....simultaneously...by the end of the day, I needed to unwind and celebrate, so I had too much wine ... luckily the food wasn't a problem, but wine has calories (LOL)...so that won't be happening again any time soon.

I am back to my ticker weight, again. I know I hop around in a range. When I was maintaining last year I would use those ranges to tell myself if I needed to move more or if I was doing ok. Yet when I am trying to lose the ranges just be come frustrating.

I took 3 days off exercising to rest. It means I blew my March goals, but I was down both Sunday and Monday so I am not too sad. My muscles are getting really sore and I want to rest them so I can keep working out. ;)

I didn't weigh today - I was up and drinking a lot of water by 4 am and then ended needing to eat something too because I was feeling nauseated from the coughing.

My weight was up 2 lbs yesterday - haven't adjusted my ticker yet. I'm going to wait to see what it ends up being once I'm better and then decide whether or not it's enough to change the ticker upwards.

I'm also guilty of not updating my ticker everyday. I only update it with new lows, knowing I have to get back down to that and pass it!

Tuesdays are dedicated to 2 dollar pints with my friends , but I haven't gone in over a month. Eliana-I unofficially started with the new year. At that time, I tried to have more fruit and veggies, and less carbs and sweet snacks. Not easy to do since my family equates food with love. I really got serious about exercising and measuring portion sizes mid-February. My starting weight I am using is according to my last doctor's visit in Dec. My next doctor visit is tomorrow; I am anxious to get an "official" weight on their scale!
I am down 1 pound this morning! Yesterday my husband and I walked for 2 miles, and I did my 20 min. exercise video. At dinner I filled my plate with extra veggies, and had 1/2 baked potato (plain) along with my protein. I know soon I am going to have a sugar need and slip on something! I have been very good about getting enough water each day!

The school I work for seemed to celebrate St. Patrick's all day long with cupcakes, sugar cookies, and shamrock shakes!!! (and it is not an irish ethnic school!!) Plus one of the students in my class had a birthday, so more cupcakes! I resisted all the cupcakes, had a couple bites of the shake and 1/4 of a cookie. So being up by only .2 is not too bad for the day I had yesterday! I did have a salad and grilled chicken for dinner last night with an extra veggie on the side.

I think it's important to make sure that daily weigh ins are going to be helpful for you and not be discouraging. If they are depressing, maybe you should think about not weighing every single day?

(hope that's not too negative, but I think that there is no "one size fits all" approach, and you've got to do trial and error to see what works best for you)

Gourmet Bean
03-18-2010, 12:56 PM
PeanutsMom is right Joni. Weighing daily should not be a depressing act. Look at all the progress you've made so far. Write it down date by date if you need to! And drink more water. Maybe you're a bit dehydrated?

Thanks for the reality check. I've weighed in daily before and started taking it too personally. I need to look at it more as information and less as a judgement on myself.

You know, I was just thinking this morning whether or not I would continue to eat on plan and exercise if I never lost a pound again. Honestly, I have to say, yes. And if the answer is yes, then the numbers shouldn't matter as much. This is more than just losing weight. This is conquering some challenging personal demons. Weight loss is a by-product (hopefully).

I've just got to get over this mental hump.

Thanks!

It's a bit frustrating when I was doing really well, and this cold just threw me for a loop. I'm still not able to do much in the way of formal exercise because I trigger a coughing fit, even if I use my inhaler. But I was able to be a lot more active yesterday with just general activity (lots of errands!) so I hit a 1300 calorie deficit, and hope to get over 1000 again today. Finally going down again! Sheesh. My ticker is once again accurate and hopefully this time it will stick!

My husband joined a gym for us yesterday. I didn't feel we needed one because I was doing just fine on my own. (And I'm a cheapskate.) But I loved going to the gym when we had a membership before so I really am excited about it. I just hope HE uses it this time! I have my fitness assessment this morning. I'm nervous. Part of me wants to tell the guy I've already lost 40 lbs and part of me wants to just let him think I'm naturally this...ahem..."thin". LOL! back up a lb today, which is annoying but probably not that unexpected since I worked out a bit yesterday for the first time in over a week. Eliana-Anyone who told me they already lost 40 pounds would receive a giant "WOW-good for you!" Your trainer may also realize how serious you are about this journey too!
PeanutsMom-I too find it easier to drink water when I am at work! On weekends when I am home, I try to put my water bottles in the door of the fridge so I see how many I have left to drink! Also prevents me from reaching for something else.
But yesterday since I am not feeling well I did not get enough water in for the day. I also did not feel much like eating (big surprise for me; usually I can eat no matter how I feel! lol) I was surprised I am down 2 lbs this morning; I just hope I am able to maintain this loss tomorrow!
Keep on track everyone!

Ok, so I went in and had an "assessment". It was interesting. I have 40% body fat which is off the chart. :( LOL! They measured it with a hand held device that looks a lot like a gameboy. Anyway, this guy did NOT take me seriously at all. He had all kinds of questions for which I knew the answer to every single one. Things like, there are 3500 calories in a pound of fat, fat loss is 80% diet, 20% exercise, strength training is more important than cardio, you should rest between strength sessions, soreness means the muscles are repairing themselves and retaining water, working the muscles does indeed tear them, etc., etc., etc. He could not stump me at all. And yet he kept saying, with a wink, "Now, ya gotta come in." I found it patronizing!! I just felt like he didn't believe me when I reiterated several times that I'd already been doing this FIVE freaking months!! The very first thing he said to me was, "Welcome. So you joined a gym. (chuckle) That is the first step." Uh...uh-uh. Not for me!!

My husband says I need to just get over it. ;) He's right of course, but I hate not being taken seriously. Yes, I'm fat. But I have a whole lot of knowledge and gumption!

These are my skinny friends who have been skinny all their lives except when pregnant. It is a whole different midset I guess. I am doing good to walk 4 miles so I don't think I will ever have to worry about the junk food as an incentive to exercise.

Anyway, I am up .4 from yesterday but still in 231. I really want to see a high twenty something before the end of the month. I have really stepped up my exercise. I only have a month till my anniversary and I would like to be in the low 20's by then.

Eliana, just ignore the trainer. I have found that there are some that are really good and in my experience it is ones who have been overweight and know where I coming from.

It certainly is nice when a trainer has been there themselves. Very often I think I'd like to BE a personal trainer.

I went to the gym for the first time this morning in about three years. It felt SO good and like I had never stopped. I had a great workout and it was nice not having any distractions...like...um...Supermario Brothers Wii. :D It's too tempting to play that at 5:30 in the morning when I workout at home. LOL!

Morning gym people are nice. :D We're all morning people.

Oh, and I'm down finally this morning. It had to happen eventually!

Eliana-I agree with Momtothree: Just ignore the trainer and do what you know will help you on your journey. The trainer needs to get some new information (or more detailed!) since you already knew the answers to such basic questions to those who are serious about the weight loss journey!
I still did not exercise yesterday (not feeling well), so I am up .4 this morning. I do plan on getting back into routine and exercising today!
How is everyone doing?

I'd like to get in on this. I WI each morning anyway so I might as well make some friends while doing it. :D

I've been seriously trying to lose weight since I joined Chicks in June but have had a hard time, I lose then regain the same five lbs. I've tried various things since June {low carb, cal counting twice, no sugar, low fat etc.} but am trying CC again. So I've lost 5 lbs again, but in this case I haven't put it back on immediatly, maintaining the loss for about a week.

223.2.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Gourmet Bean - weird that you couldn't post, but glad you could get back in today!

Patchwork - yes, definitely post here and welcome!! There is also a thread for getting out of the 220s that you might want to post on too. I'm CC and I love it. When you tried before, what was it that made you stop? How were you tracking your calories? I use Fitday and find it really easy, esp. because after the first month or two, just about everything I eat is already in my list of recent foods so it's super easy to check off all my food for the day and I'm all set!

Eliana- I totally know what you mean about the trainers. I don't think they can fully understand unless they have been in our shoes. I had a trainer at Ballys a few years ago that was like a drill sargeant, he was a jerk. He went over board and wqas constantly yelling do you wanna stay fat? I'm like dude I know I'm fat I don't need you to pound it in my head.

My trainer I have for the biggest loser contest is kind of like this too. Not yelling but he pushes me too far sometimes. And ever since the 1st weigh-in and I wasn't in 1st place he has been very standoffish so I kind of feel that he thinks I'm not trying (which I am) so he doesn't care anymore. The girl in first place started at 261 I started at 244.5. She lost 20lbs the first month I only lost 14, BUT her actual job is a volleyball and softball coach so when she is training her girls she works out with them, my job is sitting at a desk for 8 hours. SO she has an advantage. I don't really care what my trainer thinks anymore though. I'm not doing this competition to Win, I'm doing it to get healthy and feel better about myself so he can kiss my butt lol.

Kay- Wow, that is great loss. Congratulations

Pathwork - Welcome! I am also calorie counting this time and I find it freeing. I have been on so many diets that restrict everything I could eat. Now, I know it is me totally making the decision to spend calories on healthy stuff but if I want a treat I spend my calories on it without feeling guilty.

Well, I am down to 229.2 today so I loss of over a pound. I am hoping that I will still be in the 220's tomorrow. It is almost time for my monthly progress picture and I am hoping to see a big difference.

Momtothree, that's so great about being in a new decade! You'll probably still be there tomorrow. ;) Drink lots of water today to help it stay.

Kay, I think I remember you saying you did your first weigh in at LAFitness in W.C. That's the gym we ended up at. My husband signed us up for the P.T. too. I really hope our guy doesn't call me fat!! That'll lose me right then and there! You have a really good attitude about your competition. You really are at a disadvantage.

Thanks for welcoming me into your group. Bear with my while I try to learn who is who.;), and keep everyone straight.

Hubby and I went to the church gym today. I think I'm getting the hang of the machines, this is the first time {in the whole four times we've gone} that I felt like I was getting a good workout and knew what I was doing. I usually work out at home, while Hubby has a phyiscally demanding job but gets little 'exercise', so we have been going for his benefit. Not any more. Now I'm excited to go next week {we can only go on Mondays}

Peanut, I gave up cal counting before because I wasn't losing weight. I've tried Fitday, Daily Plate and Pyramid Tracker but since I've been using a {paper!} food journal for years, I was tracking on the computer, writing it all out in my journal, then posting here at Chicks, which became too much :dizzy:. I dropped the computer tracking and feel more relaxed about the whole thing. I still use these programs to find the cal counts however. I'm trying for 1,800 a day but try not to stress too much until I get to 2,000. some days are higher and some are under, but I'm not hungry I don't eat. I'm thinking of figuring the average for the week, too. I've only been back on the CC for three weeks. I didn't lose anything the first week lost about 3 the second and 2 the last.

Mom 2 3, I found myself 'working the system' last cal count trial, 1,600 cals of junk was within 'goal' but not helping me lose weight:o. Since that time I have worked on my emotional/bordom eating and that has really paid off for me, because I'm not obsessing about food anymore, either.

Shylah, congrats on those three lbs.

Patchwork, I find journaling to be too much too. The last time I did this I did South Beach and worked out like a madwoman. I made it way too hard and was not getting the results I expected. So this time I am keeping things realistic. I calorie count, but I don't journal anything and I too go with more of a range. I shoot for 200 calories a meal, six times. If I go over or under I don't worry about it. This is sustainable for me and journaling would not be. If I stopped journaling, I know I'd stop the calorie counting altogether, so this works for me. Now the exercise is another story. :D I get just a little addicted and have a really hard time reeling myself in!! I have to realize that if it gets too hard, it's ok to just back down and not quit altogether.

On that note...another great day at the gym! I'm loving it! But the elliptical machine is not the same as running around my ping-pong table at home!! LOL! That thing kicked my rear end. My goal was an hour. Yah, I gave up after 25 minutes and pounded the treadmill for a while instead. That's ok, I'll build back up to it. My legs are going to hurt tomorrow!! There's no resistance running around my ping-pong table.

back up .4 today, argh!! I know this is all within the realm of normal fluctuation but it's so frustrating because yesterday my pants were too big to the point of falling down by the end of the day. They were loose but ok when I put them on in the morning but the late afternoon, I had to keep hitching them up every time I walked.

Sigh.....

222.6! Down another lb. I didn't expect that since I've been over my cals for the past few days because of math errors on my part :o

Eliana, As a former couch potato I'm still in awe that I exercise at all much less LIKE it. I collect workout DVD's; I must have someone to 'virtually' work out with me, or I won't do it. I have my own barbell set, dumbells, a few kettlebells, and a used Treadmill given to me so I'm all set at home. I recently backed off my exercise because I felt I was doing too much {two 40+ workouts a day}, and I was getting hungry all the time. I'm slowly incorperating the workouts back in, seeing what happens. My journal resembles a list of foods more than anything else; it also has my daily weight, to do list, exercise, etc, more of a 'daily planner' written in a blank spiral journal

Welcome Gettnfit

Interesting you say you need a virtual person doing it with you. I find my workouts at the gym to be better just because there are other people there doing it too. My abs are killing me today and all I did was the same exercises I've been doing at home with my workout ball. The difference? People were watching me at the gym so I was more aware of my form and I was paranoid someone was counting my reps. It kept me honest and made me push myself.

Great I had never thought of that!

We usually have the gym to ourselves but this guy came in near the end of our hour, I was still exercising and I was terrified that he was going to comment on my form, etc. Hubby was watching him and said his form wasn't all that great and the guy was so clueless that when Hubby said "hi' to him he looked around like he just realized we were there. Whoops, didn't mean to make you paranoid! LOL! I know logically it's wrong, but I don't fight it because it motivates me. Honestly, when I am at the gym, I thinking only about myself and so is everyone else! Sigh... I'm up a pound today. Doesn't surprise me. My legs are super jello-y feeling from last nights workout and I ate like crapola as well since I was stuck at work for this huge meeting. I thought I was going to have more time before the meeting and the end of my workday, so I could go home and eat a proper meal but NOPE. Lots of cookies, mini cakes, brownies, only a small amount of veggies and fruit, and sandwich roll thingies... I don't know what you call them. They're done by a deli here and its like they rolled a bunch of yummy meat, lettuce and tomatoes in a long tortilla and cut them in about 1" sections. I stacked my plate as much as I could with the fruits and veggies, but I still had one of the sandwiches, and a cookie... and a 1x1" square of tirimisu :o. Damn. It was good at least? Haha. I tend to backtalk to the instructor a lot. Things like "You want me to what? Again? Are you Crazzy?" Knowing full well that they can't hear me, I wouldn't act like that if they were actually here, and that if it wasn't for them I would be stitting on the couch, not exercizing in the first place.

Pretty much since I have owned a scale, I've weighed myself daily (logged weekly). Of course, when I join a challenge to weigh daily I manage to hardly weigh at all! Anyway, I did weigh on Sunday and was 299.6. Still not quite my 299 goal, which is frustrating, but on the other hand I seem to be very good at maintaining! Sucks now, though, when I've got so much to lose. I'm looking forward, as ever, to a new month..clean start for spring.

Now she has been blogging that her weight has slowed down, so I might be able to catch up with her, but she is tough. Her job is a softball and volleyball coach, so why she training her girls she works out with the, and then goes to the gym on top of it. Holy Cow you ladies are ROCKIN!

I have no weigh in today :( We had to evacuate the house last night around 930 due to a gas leak. I didn't think to bring my scale :p

Oh no Shy! I hope everything is okay in your house. I'm sure your weight will be fine, just don't let any stress get to ya! When will you be able to get back into your home?

Not sure yet. The gas company came out to investigate last night and shut off our gas. They figured out it was our furnace. So today, the furnace repair guy is coming out.

I'm guessing we need a new furnace installed. :( Hopefully we will be back in by this weekend.

Just got back from Bible study. The leaders meet Wed, then the actual study/meeting is Thurs. {CBS}.

GettinFit. We joke about 'dog step aerobics'. April <----- follows us around the house and always seems to lay or stand in the way so we are constantly stepping over her.

Shylah, Sorry to hear about your gas issues. I see you have your sense of humor intact, LOL, 'didn't think to bring the scale', indeed! on the furnace replacement.

Saksn, I like the butter analogy. Although thinking of sticks of butter makes me think of cookies! Okay, true confessions, almost anything makes me thing of cookies. :dizzy:

Holy freaking soreness! Crap, crap, crap! :tantrum: My arms hurt yesterday from what I did Wednesday but they felt BETTER this morning! Then I did spin class and now I can't move my arms! Why the arms? My legs are fine! I couldn't even turn on my turn signal this morning, it was that bad! Ouch, ouch, ouch.

I can handle sore...this HURTS.

But other than that...new low weight this morning. :D Can I subtract two more pounds for soreness?

Wow, it looks like a lot of goals are being met this month. Keep it up everyone.

I am up 1.4 today. I ate a salty dinner last night so I will be sure to drink plenty of water today. This also seems to be my pattern before a whoosh. It seems like I go back and forth for a few days and then whoosh. I hope it happens soon.

As for a NSV I tried on my progress jeans yesterday and they fit. Last week I could get them buttoned if sucked in my tummy and did not breath but this week they just fit. I still have a muffin top with them so a few more pounds before I wear them out. I also fit into my goal dress for my annivereray next month. Hmmm, maybe it will be too big by April 24th and I will get to buy another one. ;)

down .2 today.

I am not sure I see that as a loss vs. normal fluctuation but hoping that the upward trend is stopping at least. I've gotten back into my activity routine and am having 1000+ calorie deficits again, so I know that will show up soon.

day 2 of me missing my weigh in due to being out of the house again last night. Good news is the furnace is fixed. hooray! I'll be able to see what the scale says tomorrow. I had an off plan day this week due to not knowing the calories of something until after and it shocked the heck outta me!

But I'm feeling confident that I didn't gain. I hope at least ;)

Eliana-Sorry to hear you are so sore! Good job on being down 2 lbs! More may be coming once your arms are not so sore anymore!

PeanutsMom-Woohoo! any down on the scale is a good move!

Momtothree-Great news on your NSV! Those NSV's make us feel great too!

Shylah-Glad to hear your furnace is fixed. It is always easier to stay on plan when in you own home!

I am down today by .4 I always hope for a big whoosh, but I will take these small downward movements! I have been staying on plan with a minimum calorie deficit of 700-800 each day~along with plenty of water and getting my walking in!

Eliana- I know how you feel today, my arms are killing me. My trainer and me did strength training yesterday for the arms and I haven't worked out the arms in probably two weeks so they feel sore today! But I'm going back to the gym today and tomorrow before my weigh in. Down to 216.4 today! WAHOOOO.

Shylah- That sucks that you've been out of your house for two days now. Glad to hear you got things fixed now. I hate not being able to weigh. Once I get to a comfortable weight I really need to work out feeling my body and not using a scale so much, I'm kind of obsessive.

Peanut Mom- I agree, any movement downward is good. If my scale is up .2 I get aggravated, but down is good. Keep up the work.

OK, first, you ladies are amusing as ****. I've read all the posts and am cracking up, since April is my birth month and I consider myself fairly spectacular, I think it's a great month to hop on board the daily weight train. I'd like to start now if you ladies are ok with it, I fully intend to hit my <199 by the 1st day of summer and I think the daily weigh ins will help me do that even faster. Habit starts with repetition, so I'm going to start now.

26-225.6

I'm up, not nessesarily awake. I can tell by my typing how awake I'm not. :dizzy:

222.6 up .2 from yesterday.

Welcome, Angihas

Eliana, I don't mind a little 'oh, I worked out yesterday' soreness, but when it gets to 'I can't MOVE' soreness, I get grumpy.

OK... so if you work like a plumber- you eat like a plumber apparently.... had 3 slices pizza and 2 cosmo's for dinner.. hubby took me out since he appreciated not having to fix the sink himself. Salad would have been a better choice, but I hadn't eaten since 10 in the AM- the pizza called my name and I answered... and then my scale showed me the error of my ways.

23:174.2
24:173 Yeah another pound gone.
25:172.2
26:173.4 -my fault- lets see if i can put it back to normal by tomorrow :)

Keep it going gals.
