Supposed to be a pretty day outside - will have to try and get out and get a few minutes of sunshine.
Ceejay - hope you feel better today. Didn't realize that dried fruit could bother you. Sometimes the insides are so sensitive.
Laura - I would love to see Alice in Wonderland. The costumes and make up look amazing. Pat on the back to you for going out and taking a walk at lunch!
Mel - sending you some gentle breezes and nice warm sunshine to dry you out. No fun shopping in the rain.
Michelle - I used a warm bottle on my foot because at first it made it feel better. Did a warm soak last night too but it didn't do any good. I hate ice - I get cold so easily but I have to say, since the heat did no good, you are probably right about the ice instead. Thanks for the tip. Did you Zumba last night?
Annie - I hope you feel better too. Sounds like you are getting a bit run down. Don't forget to take care of yourself first, 'k?
Shad - that sounds so sad about the Sanctuary. However Mother Nature is resilliant although I have seen patches of woodlands scarred by fire - though not as bad as you describe and it is a very troubling site. Are things winding down nicely this week or are you going loony tunes?
That's all I have to say for now. Gotta get out of here and into the office. Everyone have a good hump day - don't forget to put out the trash ;)

Happy mid-week ladies -
Last night, I did 15 minutes of the treadmill and 1/2 hour Zumba class. Tonight, I have website work to do - changes to the one I worked on over the weekend, but I'm hoping to get it done and then get to the gym. I'm also planning on walking at lunch time. No walking tomorrow as it's going to get cold again. :brr:
I just found out that DH has to work both days this weekend. I'm a little bummed about it, but I'll find stuff to do to keep me busy: Website work, grocery shopping, cleaning and laundry...but there will also be time for fun stuff like Zumba on Saturday, and playing (or napping) with the doggies. He also has to work on Good Friday. My company is giving us Good Friday afternoon off, and I took the morning off as vacation. I might still take the time off...and just have a "me" day (or do the same stuff as listed above - website, cleaning, groceries, laundry, Zumba and play with doggies).
Annie - I hope your throat is feeling better now. Maybe it's the pollen in the air? Don't let yourself get sick now.
Mel - Hopefully you'll get to see some sun today. I thought Jail Bait was 18 or under? Seriously though...if I'm old enough to be his mama, I ain't interested. This chick is no cougar! Zumba is a great stress reliever and a good way to shake all the worrysome thoughts out of my head. :)
Laura - Good for you for walking! A big pat on the back for you! Seems like it's always cold, shady and windy in Chicago around all those tall buildings. In your backyard, you call 'em lawn sausages, I call 'em land mines. You sure had lots of aches. My doggies tend to put their paws where I can either step on them, trip on them or seriously hurt myself to avoid hurting them. Good for you for doing some lower body sculpting. I DVR'ed Dancing with the Stars, but I haven't watched it yet - and I missed the first half-hour cuz I forgot to schedule it and I didn't get home from the gym until after it had started. How did Buzz Aldrin do? I would expect Chad OchoCinco to do pretty well. I REALLY want to see Alice in Wonderland too. Too bad we don't live closer or we could go together.
Ceejay - So glad you're having nice weather finally. Sorry to hear you're sick with colitis - maybe you should've skipped work until things calm down. As for the kitten, I think it's hanging onto the arse, not the arm.
Happy - You should definitely get out and enjoy the sunshine, even if you have to find a place to sit rather than walk. As for Alice in Wonderland...wouldn't it be great if you, Laura and I (and any other chicks) could find somewhere to meet and go see it together?! Warmth/heat will increase blood flow, but it also tends to increase swelling. Ice, on the other hand, reduces swelling and reduces pain. Most people hate ice, but Rest-Ice-Compression-Elevation (R.I.C.E) is often the best treatment for foot pain. Yes, I Zumba'ed last night and may again tonight...if I can get the website files fixed in time.
Shad - I hope you have smooth sailing for the rest of the time on the project and getting everything ready to go home...and then, of course, safe travels back home.
GOOD WEDNESDAY MORNING LADIES OF THE WORLD.
HOPE EVERYONE HAS A WONDERFUL MIDWEEK DAY!

Good Morning Chickies of the World..
Yes indeed, a humping day with trash services. Um...I hate to even say this but....eCVS has struck again. We will see. It is getting to be a joke and kind of fun. At least he drives a really awesome 4-wheel drive truck..lol
MELLIE..Wowser..on the men.. I will take a 43-45 yr old dark haired w/goateed cutie please. YUM
Happy...it is supposed to be a pretty day here today. 65 and sunny however still waiting on the sun to come out. I put the trash out last night between jobs for today's pick up. All done.
Ceejay...Shouldn't we do Jillian more than just Thursdays or are you just saying you can start that day also? Hope you are feeling better by now.
Laura...good job on walking. Amazing what a few miles further south can do for the weather. I would of gone to see Alice in Wonderland, especially since I have already seen it and it was good. Wink.
Chelle...I am sure your weekend will not be boring as you ALWAYS find something to do. Maybe extra exercising or just taking a hot candle lit bubbly with a glass of wine, a little YOU time. Even if only 30 minutes, do it. Not only are you exercise queen, now you also hold the Zumba queen title. You are truly amazing. Don't think cause DH is working that no one is watching you, I can see you so don't cheat on food. My kids still swear I have eyes in the back of my head.
Shaddie..all packed? ready to go home? where is your next gig?
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
Love and hugs,
Laura705

Hi everyone!
Annie - another eCVS date? Who knows, you might find a nice guy if you kiss enough frogs, so to speak.
Mel - So it went from very quiet yesterday to all kinds of excitement this morning? You knew it wouldn't last!
Michelle - I don't mind having a weekend to myself every once in a while - get some nice me time. Hope you can get to the gym tonight. On DWTS, Buzz & his partner had the lowest score. He's not much of a dancer, but it's great to see an 80-year old out there. I hope he inspires others to try dancing! I missed the first hour, so I didn't see Ochocinco dance.
Happy - I love that pink dogwood avatar. Very pretty. Hope you get out and enjoy the sun today. It does feel good, doesn't it?
Ceejay - I hope you feel better soon.
Hi Shad - hope all is going well in the home stretch of your assignment.
I didn't go w/ bf and doggy for a walk after work yesterday. I finished the rest of the lower body workout and that was it. Then I watched tv and read a bit. Bit of a ho hum night. Tonight I'll walk doggy if it's not raining. I'll exercise again, since last night was limited to glutes, hamstrings and abs. I have the pedometer today! I'm at 3108 steps or 1.47 miles so far today. Not sure how much I'll walk at lunch, if at all.
Okay, I'm outta here! Have a great rest of the day everyone!

Well slap my head and call me southern. I ate cornmeal grits for lunch today. I was supposed to have lunch with a friend but he took ill so we had to reschedule. I walked into the cafeteria and they had a guest chef from the corporate office location (you know, the one with the water fountain outside and the much better food ;) ). He was making his special shrimp and grits with chipolte sauce. I wasn't sure at all about this but they had samples and it was really good. Cooked cornmeal is only 2 pts for a 1 cup serving so it wasn't that deadly points wise. I went out into the sun for a few minutes to call Mom and chastise her for downloading stuff on her cell phone - actually I think it's a mistake but the idea of my 83 year old Mom texting and downloading Metallic ring tones is really funny to me. It's really nice outside. I do wish I could walk a bit. Can't sit outside because the smokers (evil people) are stinkin' up the place. It would be nice if they enforced the rule of no smoking within 25 feet of the entrances. I have nothing against the smokers - there is a nice patio area in the back of the building for them, just some rebels (mostly contractors) refuse to use the "designated areas" and our facilities people do nothing about anything facility related here.
I saw a little bit of DWTS yesterday. Chad was in a 3 way tie for 6th place - not so good. I expected Nicole to do well - tall, gorgeous, looks great in clothes and as the lead Pussy Cat Doll - if she can't follow dance training, she needs to hang up her tail - she came in #1 if I remember correctly. Cheryl Burke (the dancer) is my favorite - was hoping she would last longer with Chad who might make up for a lack of skill with determination and dedication. I guess Kate Gosslin or whatever her name is - is being a diva and coming to practice late. Not a favorite on either side of the fence I guess.
They were supposed to power wash the 2nd floor of our house - the wood and panels and DH said they power washed everything including the brick on the first floor, the garage and the walks. That power washer must be fun to operate! Of course it is sunny and relatively warm out and I guess I'd rather be doing that then pulling apart wood trim and dealing with bees and termites and such :yikes: Cost us $250 for the car yesterday. The kid who brought it to us popped it into 4 wheel drive and I so rarely use it that I could not get it out. DH tried and ground the gears - I wanted to say no, no I don't need your help after all! He thought something might be messed up with the differential so he had the service guy look at it. Took 4 guys trying but they finally got it out of 4WD. I think I could have figured it out if they let me, but no, I had to stand there and look blond and dumb. :p
So Laura what do you do with Coal when you go on vacation? Or do you vacation at home? There's actually alot to do in the 3 state area for an over night drive and I find that vacationing that requires flying is no longer interesting to me.
Speaking of vacation Mom and SIL are both really excited about the beach vacation. :beach: It makes me giggle to think of both of them. I hope it does not disappoint.
Good luck on the latest date Annie. There has to be someone somewhere, just can't advise you where to find them. I know if I was alone here, I'd be... well... alone. I am not a church monger, or a Republican and the only "at risk" youngin's I'm willing to volunteer with are covered with fur and don't wear pants. :lol3: That takes me out of the eligible pool of fine, upstanding young men.
I don't know if any of your watch the show The Marriage Ref. Last week they had this really cute couple who had been married for 35 years. He just retired and they were at an impasse as to where to move. He wanted to move to Howe, Indiana and go live in Amish country where it was peaceful and quiet (and boring). She on the other hand, said she needed excitement in her life and wanted to move to Los Angeles (he said she was star struck). I sitting there thinging geez, if you go to LA, you will spend most of your retirement buying a tiny stucco shanty in the outskirts of the area and within a year, all your money will be gone - can you say crazy crazy cost of living???? In the end the celebrity panel (Martha Stewart, Jason Alexander and Cedrik the Entertainer) sided with the wife only because they thought the husband was very easy going and would take it in stride if he didn't get his way (which was TRUE) and the wife would make his life a living miserable :censored: if she didn't get her way and had to move among the Amish (which was also true). They were a very cute couple so Annie remember looks aren't everything! She had on this funky sweater with these bizzare ribbon looking flowers across the top. Martha said she could show her how to craft prettier flowers for her sweather  It's fun and light entertainment which is what I need after a hard day at the office.
Oops Mom is calling me back. Gotta run. Sorry to take up your time babbling.

Mel - Sounds like you had yourself a smorgasbord of eye candy! Nice!! ;)
Annie - eCVS again, huh? So when are you going out with this guy? Is this one a 43-45 yr old dark haired goateed cutie? Be careful, girlfriend....I'm hoping and praying he's not creepy like the other dude. I think I've talked DH into seeing Alice on Sunday for an "early" anniversary, providing he's not too tired after working all weekend. If he is, then we'll go out Thursday night. He just found out he doesn't have to work Friday! Yay! I'm not sure I deserve the Zumba queen title yet, but I'm getting there. Maybe after I can do an hour long advanced class without wanting to collapse. Glad to hear I'll have you watching me this weekend to keep me on track.
Laura - Sorry that Buzz had the lowest score on DWTS. But I give him props for trying. Good for you for logging your steps and all the exercise you're getting in the evenings.
Happy - Your lunch sounds really good...and I'm not even a big fan of grits. My company strictly enforces the smoking areas...at least during normal business hours. Sometimes when I get in at oh-dark early, there might be one smoker by the door. I get past him quickly so it doesn't bother me too much. I really like Cheryl Burke too. Hopefully he'll improve. I hate Kate Gosselin. Why would the kid put your car in 4 wheel drive when it's not snowy? :dunno: I'm glad it's out of 4x4 now. I haven't watched the Marriage Ref yet. It sounds like it's better than I thought it would be.
Well, time for this chick to head home. Yay!
Love and hugs,

 I think there is a porno filter on 3FC. My comment about Nicole S on Dancing With the Stars got modified. She's with the musical group Prissy Cat Dolls - well not really the word prissy but kinda close to that and I see that 3FC changed one of the words to Kitty :lol3:

and Michelle - I'm not sure what the kid was doing that brought my car but he somehow popped it into 4 wheel drive by accident. Maybe he wanted to see what happened if he hit the right combo of buttons? Maybe he didn't understand that the BIG handle with PRNDL was the transmission instead of the small knob next to it that was H4, L4 and N???? He admitted he was the oil change guy - apparently you don't have to know how to drive to change oil (but it helps :D ) Anyway he was red-faced and very apologetic. Have a good Zumba night.
Annie - I'm glad you got the joke - I am preparing you for eCVS in case one of the "fellers" tries to bedazzle you with B.S. Hope he turns out to be ok, meet him out front and go across the street for coffee until you can run his prints.

I started out watching Dancing with the Stars. I must have fallen asleep on the couch while Buzz Aldan was dancing. I give the 80 year old and A for effort. I diffinately do not like Kate Gosslin's long hair. It looks fake.
Annie
We can start Thursday, tomorrow, just set the time. I am going to try and sleep a little later in the morning. I'm going to try the upside down pizza next week.
Michelle
To bad that your dh is having to work on the week end. I'm off this week end but will have to work Easter Sunday.
Laura
I forgot to wear my pedometer today. I'm averaging 2 miles per day. I'd still like to know if you have to do all those steps at one time. I need to start doing more strength exercises.
Mel
Oh my, all those men in uniforms! i would have let one of them take me off on a stretcher. I thought about you this morning. Our insurance meeting was held at the fire department. Not a one of them in a uniform.
Had a busy day at work. From 7-7.30 a.m. we had an insurance meeting, then started the process of draining one of the elevated tanks. It took around 4 and a half hours to drain a 500,000 gallon tank. It went to the system and to the other two elevated tanks. After this I had to watch the guages to find out when the pumps came on and went off. I'm worn out.
Stopped by the gas station to fill up the car with gas and came home and guess what was greeting me at the door. It was almost on the porch--you got it a snake about a foot long. I think it's dead which is causing me some concern (for paybacks etc) I've search the admistrative sight on the camera's but to no avail I still can't find where to rewind those things. So first thing in the morning I'm going to call ADT. It may have crawled up there and some one stomped it. I'm curious. It's been warm the past couple of days. And thank goodness that there was enough daylight left for me to see it. My daddy uses to say where there is one there is a mate.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE. THINGS HAVE GTTEN QUIET ONCE AGAIN. CEEJAY WAS RIGHT...I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN IT WOULDN'T LAST!! HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY. TODAY NOTHING IS PLANNED. JEN IS COMING DOWN LATER BUT WE HAVE NO AGENDA. MAYBE JUST CHATTING AND ICED TEA. :beach:
HAPPY THURSDAY/FRIDAY :moped:

THIS WAY WHEN THEY FOLLOW ME THEY SEE YOU!! :belly: ECVS...LET US PRAY ON THIS NEW ONE :yoga: AND KEEP OUR FINGERS CROSSED :crossed: I TOLD JEN IF SHE AND RICHIE EVER BREAK UP, NOT TO WORRY....CAUSE SHE CAN GO DOWN THE STREET TO WALGREENS AND SHOP FOR A BF LIKE YOUR ECVS:lol3: :lol3:
LAURA.....I'M STILL WAITING ON THE LIBRARY BOOK AND WAS WONDERING HOW THE HOME OFFICE IS COMING ALONG?? YOU'RE REALLY PUTTING ON THE MILEAGE :running:
HAPPY...THE STORY ABOUT MOM CRACKED ME UP. DID SHE ACTUALLY DOWNLOAD STUFF AND TEXT?? ROFLMAO THANK GOD THIS IS A GOVT PHONE AND I CAN'T DO ANY OF THAT!! :yikes: GLAD THE HOUSE IS COMING ALONG. GREAT WEATHER FOR IT TOO. HAD ANOTHER LAUGH ABOUT THE CAR...MEN!!! :rollpin: BEWARE OF THE SMOKERS....WE HAVE THEM HERE TOO. THEY STAND RIGT IN FRONT OF THE AUTO DOORS AND THE SMOKE COMES IN WITH THE OPEN DOORS AND THE OFFICE WINDOWS WHEN THEY ARE OPEN. NO ONE ENFORCES IT HERE EITHER :faint: I HAD GRITS A LOOOK NG TIME AGO...GOOD STUFF WHEN DONE RIGHT. :hun:
CEEJAY.....ALL I CAN SAY IS :yikes: :faint:  A SNAKE????OMG I WOULD HAVE FAINTED DEAD ON THE SPOT. HE PROBABLY WASN'T FEELING GOOD AND SAID THIS IS A NICE STEP TO DIE ON!!! MAYBE HE'S A LUCKY SNAKE. YOU MADE ME LAUGH THOUGH ABOUT FINDING THE REWIND BUTTON....I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE OURS IS ON THE NEW CAMERAS. Happy Thursday/Friday -
I'm tired and my muscles are sore. I did an hour of advanced Zumba last night, which included lots of arm work. Tonight is 1/2 hour Zumba and 1/2 hour Strength Training. Heaven help me if we do a lot of arms stuff in the Strength Training class. It's a chilly day here today, very windy and highs only in the low 40s. And since I have a meeting right before WW and no time after, I may have to skip my lunchtime walk, but I'm sure I'll be going up and down the stairs a lot. Oh, I forgot to mention...last week at my doctor appt, I got the results of my fasting blood work: Blood Sugar and HA1C - just fine; Cholesterol - great (admittedly I am on cholesterol meds...but at least they're doing the trick); HDL (good) cholesterol - better than it's ever been (thank you Zumba!). :dancer: All the other stuff they checked was really good too! :woohoo:
Happy - Too funny about 3FCs filter changing the kitty cat doll band name!
Annie - I agree with Happy...definitely meet up with any eCVS dudes in public places. Did I mention that I met DH through a personal ad he placed 20+ years ago? Heck, even though I liked him from the start, it wasn't until our 4th or 5th date that I let him know where I lived. Just can't be too careful.
Ceejay - Bummer that you have to work Easter Sunday. Do you get extra holiday pay at least? Good for you for all that walking, and I look forward to a report on how the 30 day shred is going for you and Annie. A snake by my front door, whether dead or alive, would've startled me to pieces. And in general I like snakes and other reptiles...I just don't like to be surprised by them. I'll bet Mel is right, it was sick and just found a nice place to go to forever sleep.
Mel - Enjoy your relaxing day with Jen!
Shad - When do you start the long drive home? Wishing you very safe travels.
I'm still tracking my food, counting points, drinking water and eating fruits and veggies. I skipped the crunches and planks yesterday, as the Advanced Zumba class is hard enough.
Well, I'd better get some stuff done. I'll check back in later!
Luvya girlfriends,

Morning all...I feel like poo. My throat is killing me, no voice, chest heavy like an elephant is sitting on it, head is splitting and all I wanna do is sleep which is kind of impossible here at work.
One of my BFs lost her job this past Monday after 30 years. She is devastated. SHe was the Retail Marketing & Trade Show Manager for Audiovox, first with Thomson/RCA then Audiovox bought out Thomson/RCA. Her son's wife left him this past Monday also. I told her she has had her one day to "whoa is me", now on to the positive side of things. My boss here has given me a lead for her, also my brother's company has already been considering her for a position. Good things to come.
A Purdue college student was found in his car in a retention pond in an elite neighborhood. Apparently drove into the pond and drown. Not sure the cause as he was leaving a party and also had just had hernia surgery days before. ANYWAY, that family is personal friend's with my boss. My boss has come into the office the past two days with bloodshot eyes from crying. Bless her heart.
So when visiting momma last night, I said, looks like your are getting a new roommate as her other one went home. She said yes and she hoped it was a man cause she was gonna rape him. I about passed out laughing. Keep in mind momma can only move her right arm, hand and scoot her legs around on the bed. She is a hoot. I told her not to as she might get preggers with twins. lol
eCVS....the guy has not called me yet so no worries. Heck he may not even call at all. I am down with the meeting up at places before making any other arrangements.
Ceejay...I am going to postpone my start of the 30 day shred as I can barely breath and want to go to bed when I get home. I am just run down.
Chelle...you Zumba momma you....glad the tests came back good. THat in itself makes a person feel better. It is 40s and windy here today also. No wonder I am sick.
MELLIE..I can't vouch for eWalgreens however since eCVS and eWalgreen's are usually across the corner from each other, it is probably the same "men pool", so Jen would have her pickins. lol
Happy..get your heiny movin' and get to work....
Shaddie...must be traveling, be safe sista.
Laura...trust me, not only have I kissed enough frogs, they have given me one hellava chest cold, plus laryngitis. Men..sheesh..are they good for ANYTHING??? Well maybe one thing, and that isn't all that good.~wink~
Hey to anyone I missed, going to heat up my green tea w/honey. I have let it get too cool.
Love and sanitary hugs.

Annie - I hope you feel better very, very soon. No chance you can take a sick day off work so you can rest? I hope you don't have to work at CVS. You need lots of rest and lots of liquids - good for you with the green tea and honey. Sending lots of healing  and :goodvibes: your way. Take it easy, girlfriend.

I could take a sick day but don't feel sick enough to stay home. Does that make sense? Probably not. I would rather be here at work and contaminate everyone else. lol

ok, lunch-a-bunch time. Munching on some leftover grilled chicken with a divine mustard sauce, steamed broccoli with garlic crumbs and a few bits of leftover baked potato with dill seasoning. I would have shared if you asked  Annie - I will give you my garden vegetable soup since I'm stuffed and you could probably use it.
Please don't infect your co-workers and customers. There is a very nasty thing going around town here that is making people really sick with sinunitis and bronchitis. The kind of thing that comes back around again after you think you got rid of it. I don't want to go out in public. So go home Annie, take some Nyquil and zonk out for about 10 hours. You'll be chipper in time for the weekend. Your momma story was a real hoot!
Michelle - careful with those arms tonight. I know it was just probably enthusiastic swinging but you have to give the muscles a chance to heal. Don't make more tears with weights. I'm sure you can pace yourself. I'm so glad your numbers are good with the blood tests. That's a bit of a reinforcement and a positive motivator. Results!! :cp: I hope you have a good WI today.
Mel - I hope you and Jen have some nice quiet time together today. No, Mom did not download anything - both of us knew she wouldn't have the foggiest, but I had to ask before I chewed someone out in customer service :D Perhaps if Jen is on her own, you can both go shopping at Trader Joe's for new ones. Or just wander over to the firestation and ask them if anyone needs lotion applied -skin must be rough and dry under all those heavy suits
Ceejay - I have read on several occasions that you don't have to do a mile walk all at once. In fact some believe that multiple sessions of 10 to 15 minutes are even better for you than a single bout. I would agree, if eating mini meals several times a day is good, so would exercise I think.
Laura - are you off today or just really busy?
Shad - did we lose you in the packing materials or are you busy writing 15 different handbooks?
I know we aren't supposed to talk about politics but the antics in Washington have me really worried. We are becoming a country divided with some putting words in other's mouths and bulldozing things and threats and all sorts of ugly stuff. I sincerely wonder between all the issues and the weather and natural disasters, are we really coming to an end of days? If anyone knows, let me know because if that's the case, I'm going for one last super vacation to spend the retirement and I think I'll have one last pack of smokes - away from the entrance door of course ;)
time for me to get back to work. See yah.

Happy...I often wonder if it is the end of times myself or at least getting there. Maybe there is something to the December 2012 thing. I tell you, I have never felt as close to God as I have in the past few months and the things I have been praying for are so out of character for me, it is all good, but new to me. I have even been listening to a Christian radio station (at home, work and in the car) for a couple of months and really really really liking it. Something is compelling me towards a deeper relationship with HIM. I know this is a heavy subject but whatever it is, I am liking it.

I had a great Weight Watchers meeting. I'm down 1.8 lbs from last week! :woohoo: I've got a long way to go yet, but I'm thrilled about the loss this week! Yay, Weight Watchers! Yay, Zumba! :dancer:
Annie - So nice that your BFF is likely to get a job really soon! So very, very sad about the college student. Your mom is sooo funny!
Happy - Your lunch sounds delish! I had a big salad with lots of veggies and a little chicken, plus a small cup of Vietnamese Chicken Noodle Soup (like the original kind except spicier and with bean sprouts). It was really yummy. We have some nasty illnesses going around here too: some people have bronchitis, and others have big time stomach ailments. Thanks for the advice about letting my muscles heal, I'll make sure I don't do much upper body work tonight...or if I do, I'll go easy. Like you, I don't like how divided the country has been for sooo many years. I think the threats, and acts, of violence against those who voted in favor of the healthcare bill are a bit extreme. I mean, seriously people, whether you agree or disagree....express your opinion verbally not violently, and most of all exercise your right to vote, which so very few Americans do. I've always been of the belief that if you don't bother to vote, you don't get the right to b*tch. As for the end of days...I don't know...but if it is, I wanna go on a great vacation and eat LOTS of fattening food before I go.
Well, got more stuff to finish up before I leave.

Sounds like you have been watching celebrity weight loss with Ian Smith. Those were his words. What time are we working out today?
annie175
03-25-2010, 03:27 PM
Chelle...wow, I have not been watching celebrity weight loss and don't know Ian Smith, that is scary. I am not working out tonight, actually I am leaving here in about 30 minutes, going by CVS to get some Mucinex Chest, going home and going to bed. My head is pounding and my eyes are burning a bit, much like MELLIE's eyes, I suppose. Most certain EVERYONE is sick of hearing me cough. Oh Whoa is me, boo hoo hooo,

Hey everyone. Have plenty to do at work and probably should not be here, but what the heck...
Happy – What a hassle w/ that kid getting your car stuck in 4WD! I hope it doesn’t cause problems down the road. I get annoyed w/ the smokers too – all the restrictions on where they can’t smoke, they must have all decided to walk around the block when they do it – and I get stuck walking behind them. I’m sure I’ve griped about this to everyone, including our dept’s admin asst – and it turns out she smokes! She’s only in her mid-20’s – what possesses someone that age to take up smoking given the known health risks and the cost?! If end of days is near, I’ll use all those blank checks the credit card companies send me and charge up to and beyond my credit card limits and have a grand old time.
Ceejay – Ugh, a snake!! I’m sure it’s preferable that the more steps that are aerobic, the better because the heart & lungs are getting a workout. My pedometer shows total steps and aerobic steps, the latter of which I think are counted only after one’s been walking a certain amount of time – can’t recall the specifics. My walking varies – walking around the house and office, walking to/from the train (10 minute trips), and walking doggy (20-30 min). Hey, if it’s burning calories, it’s good enough for me!
Michelle – You’re doing so great w/ the exercise! I read an article in the paper yesterday that said to studies show that to maintain weight/avoid weight gain, women need to exercise 420 min. per week – yup, an hour every day! Lesser amounts, however, are enough to provide other health benefits. Good job on those great blood test results!! Congrats on your weight loss!! :) :) :)
Annie – Sorry you’re feeling lousy…or are you just trying to get out of that 30 day shred??? Better not be! :nono: Feel better soon. I know what you mean when you say you don’t feel sick enough to stay home. Who knows – the next day or week you could feel 20x worse. I hope your friend lands a new job soon. Too too funny what your mother said about a new roommate!! Now I know where you get it from!!!! I think tough times are when people find God, or other faith or spirituality in which to gain comfort and strength. One of the bloggers posted today about this verse today and I like the way it sounds: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Galatians 5:22
Mel – I’m glad things are quiet again by you. Will that iced tea put you in a warm springy/summery place? Enjoy!
Hey there Shad!! Those folks must be squeezing every last minute of work out of you that they can!
I had another one of those weird headaches in the late morning. I logged it again. So glad it went away quickly. I did an internet search and it seems there’s something called “menstruation migraines” due to a drop in estrogen or something. TOM's here this week - hoping that’s not what it is. Definitely not like the typical tension headache I get every once in a while…
Last night I took doggy for a walk w/ bf. Steps for the day totaled 9,121. I didn’t do any other exercise except a set of pushups. I watched a short bit of tv, then tried and failed at the Sudoku and jumble puzzles in the paper. :tantrum: Watched part of an old movie in bed and of course fell asleep before the end. Nothing planned for tonight. Okay, more work awaits so I better get this posted!

Morning all,
Not lost or anything. Just tying up the loose ends and will be back tonight or tomorrow morning with the updates. Don't start the travel until Monday - well that is today's story anyway. Finished the manual. Gave it to the storeman who is very impressed. Gave it to the boss who said - oh no, do I have to read all 170 pages. Nope, you dope, just read the 27 with words on and look at the pictures for the rest.
Anyway will be back asap - like this afternoon, when I will again be unemployed.

Most of my steps which include stairs are at work, most of them are with in five minute intervals. I may have to tack on some extra minutes. I do manage 5 to 9,000 steps. If I'm really busy I'll manage 10,000 steps.
Shad
Wow, I'm impressed with the document being 170 pages. You deserve a break after this one.
Michelle
I'm proud for you in losing those 1.8 pounds. You certainly worked hard enough for them.
I need to get off the computer, but to be honest I'm not in the mood to pack or clean house. And I've eaten tooooo much dinner. I hope the nacho supreme does not upset my gut.
I'll be traveling to Springfield, Mo tomorrow. My sister will probably have to work Sunday night so if my nephew will ask me to spend the night with him I will. He lives in Nixa, MO.

TGIF fo' sho' -
I'm officially getting tired after a long week of work and Zumba. I hope the coffee kicks in soon. I had a blast doing Zumba last night, and I also did 1/2 hour of strength training including crunches and planks. Tonight, it's an hour of advanced Zumba, followed by another hour tomorrow morning. And aside from a couple hours of website work, the rest of the weekend will be spent doing laundry, cooking, a little cleaning and RELAXING! :woohoo:
Annie - I hope you stay home today and rest. Nyquil (or something stronger) and rest is what you need, girlfriend.
Ceejay - Do you still pedal at work sometimes? Mmmmm, nacho supreme sounds really good! I almost stopped for Taco Bell last night on the way home from the gym cuz I was sweaty and tired and it was already 8 pm...but realized I didn't have any cash on me. Thank heaven for small favors! So I went home and had soup and a WW dinner. Next week, I'll try and eat before Zumba class on the nights with they are later in the evening. Have a wonderful trip! Safe travels!
Laura - An hour of exercise per day just to maintain?? Seriously? That's crazy. Admittedly, I do that on some days...but every freakin' day....just to MAINTAIN? That's nuts! I used to get "menstruation migraines" - not fun at all, but mine would last for hours and hours.
Shad - Enjoy your weekend before the trip home. Are you doing anything fun or just finishing all the packing? Safe travels!
Happy - Wishing you a wonderfully quiet and productive day! How is your foot doing? Are you doing okay in regular shoes?
Mel - Hope your feeling well and have a relaxing day ahead.
 to all!
Luvya chicks,
Shad

Morning all,
Will get this posted before the day starts getting away from me. I went out to dinner last night with my Irish man from the store - the one I have been teaching and training. He will do okay and it was a lovely meal - and no we didn't have a point of guinness because G reckons it is all gob****e out here and we are all eejits for tinking it is the reaaaal stoofffff. He apparently saves up his punts for when he toikes a trip hame and then he can have points of the suds. You've gotta get with the Oirish accent to get a laugh out of that conversation.
Anyway, I am now up to my eyeballs with the last of the washing and will be shutting up the first case shortly and lugging that down to the car. Everything needs to be put in the right place so it all fits. Most of the stuff apart from a bit of fridge and freezer stuff in on the bench and table ready for packing. It will all be done today and tomorrow I will go to R's place where we will have a farewell dinner and I'll be off on Monday morning.
Actually I have woken up not feeling too bright. Stuffed up nose, headache all that stuff. Hope it doesn't develop into anything worse, but can't do much about it if it does.
Glad to hear that most people seem to be doing okay. Hope Annie is getting over her nasty cold or whatever. Happy, how's the foot? Mel - how are the eyes. Michelle - I'm not surprised that you are feeling somewhat tired. And congrats on the weight loss.
Gotta go. Few things left to do, and I need some tissues for the car journey home. And I gotta.......... crikey, it's making me weary just thinking about it.
Back later.

Oh forgot to mention. The company gave me a huge bunch of flowers to thank me. I have no idea how they thought they would last on a journey of three days in the car. I'll have to leave them with R. Pity because they are beautiful.

Hi everyone!
Shad - Sounds like you're having a nice sendoff - flowers, farewell dinner. Too bad you can't enjoy the flowers for longer. :flow1: Hope you have a safe drive home.
Ceejay - You also have a safe trip to Springfield, and wave over in the direction of my mum while you're there - she's on the south end not too far from that nice library.
Happy - I hope you had a quiet and productive day today and have a good weekend.
Michelle - Hope you have a nice relaxing "me" (or "me and doggy") weekend. Too bad I didn't learn about the one hour of daily exercise needed to maintain before I gained my weight - I like the exercise side of the equation much more than the diet side of it! But too late now - I can't ignore the eating part - darn.
Mel - Hope you had a good Friday and have a good weekend!! I never responded to you re my office organizing project. I'm still reading the book, and I have done one of the first steps - sort. (Acronym: SPACE - Sort, Purge, Assign a Home, Containerize, Equalize) Sorted a bunch of papers in the office, and the next step will be to purge them. I asked bf to clear out the two drawers of the filing cabinet he uses because he isn't even using them for real files - just dumped a bunch of miscellaneous crap in them. What a waste of space! So he agreed to clear out at least one drawer, and I'll be moving real files to the two top drawers for easier access. Do me a favor and keep asking me about this project so that I'm motivated to keep at it. Maybe I need to take some "before" photos, LOL!
Annie - I have a feeling that since I didn't see your post today you must have stayed at home. Hope you're feeling better so you can get that 30 day shred started!!! :D
And speaking of staying home - that's what I did today. I had a bad week physically, between those "menstruation migraines" and this cold. Each one separately would be bearable. But both, by the end of the week just got really old and I woke up feeling lousy with the start of another of the headaches, and the congestion from the cold didn't help. So I called in sick. Missed the last jeans day of the quarter. Oh well. I just needed a day to kick back. All I did for the morning and early afteroon was watche tv, read my book (The Shipping News), and read the paper. In the late afternoon, bf and I went out for lunch (Middle Eastern food - lentil soup and lamb sandwiches). We also bought a CO2 refill for our seltzer machine, filters for the fridge's water dispenser, dog food and some household stuff from Walmart.
Meeting a couple HS friends for lunch tomorrow, and that's all my plans for this weekend! Need to do some cooking and cleaning, bah. I'd rather exercise, so I'll do some of that too!
YESTERDAY GOT AWAY FROM ME. WORKED IN THE OFFICE. 2 WOMEN WERE OUT AND ONE HAD "MEETINGS". THE DAY FLEW BY AND ENDED EARLY AT 3PM. SO IT WASN'T TOO BAD. JUST COLD DOWN THERE. OUR WINDS IN SPRING ARE ALWAYS VERY STRONG AND YESTERDAY WAS NO EXCEPTION. :brr: WINTER IS BACK HERE IN THE EAST.
HOPE YOU ARE ALL WELL. I'LL READ AND EAT BREAKFAST JUST TO CATCH UP. HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND :moped:

I SAW THE MOVIE SHIPPING NEWS...WITH KEVIN SPACEY...IS THAT THE BOOK?? I LIKED THE MOVIE AS I RECALL..IT WAS WHAT I CALL AN "INDEPENDENT FILM CHANNEL" TYPE MOVIE. HOPE YOU AND THOSE HEADACHES FEEL BETTER THIS WEEKEND. GLAD YOU TOOK THE DAY OFF. COULD IT BE SINUS RELATED??
ANNIE....HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER VERY SOON. NOT A FUN THING TO HAVE WITH SPRING ON THE HORIZON. THE MOM STORY WAS TOO FUNNY. WE TALK LIKE THAT TO THE SENIORS....MAKES THEM LAUGH AND BLUSH AND FEEL YOUNG AGAIN.
MICHELLE....BIG CONGRATS ON THE WEIGHTLOSS!! :cheer3: GOOD NEWS FOR SURE. YOU BETTER BE RESTING THOSE MUSCLES IN BETWEEN :rollpin: DON'T MAKE ME COME AND SMACK YOU ALONGSIDE YOUR HEAD!!

03-27-2010, 05:49 PM
Hi Mel! Yep, that's the book. I want to watch the movie (again) when I finish the book. I seem to recall the movie focusing more on the relationship between Kevin Spacey's character and Julianne Moore's character. The book is different.
Not much going on here. I did two BE 30 min. workouts this morning. I had a nice lunch w/ my two HS friends. Bf had been to the restaurant before and recommended I try the cherry crepes. So I had them and they were yummy. Brought 1/3 home. Bf will probably eat them (if he gets to them first!). There's a new Meijer store in the same strip mall as the restaurant and the Oscar Mayer WeinerMobile was there! :carrot:
After that, I bought a new pair of ear bud headphones from Best Buy and some Tom's of Maine toothpaste from Target. They are converting that store into groceries also (like the other one near our house). They had a big open area and I ended up walking across it to get to another aisle and I somehow didn't see an empty shelf base/end cap unit jutting out (it was the same color as the floor) and I totally tripped over it and went flying (along w/ the toothpaste and the sunglasses perched on my head). No injuries, except I'll have a good bruise on my shin later. I spoke to the store manager and told her to put cones or something around it to prevent some other poor sap from doing the same thing I did. Unless everyone's more alert than I was...
Hope everyone's having a nice weekend and being safe!!
Shad

Morning all,
Don't know how often I will be back over the next couple of days, so I thought I would get this in early. Other than a sinus headache, I feel much better today than yesterday. Mind you with the amount of sleep I got, I ought to.
The car is now packed apart from a couple of items which will go in the back seat. I'm waiting for the dishwasher to finish, so I can pick up the last couple of items of mine. The place has been checked a couple of hundred times for any more of my junk and in around 30 minutes I'll be out of here and on the way to R's place on the other side of town. Tonight we will have a dinner of Tapas and Sangria hopefully and I am out of there tomorrow morning around 7.00am. I'd have liked to have gone earlier, but it would be stretching the friendship to walk out around 3.00am R is not a morning person. Lucky she doesn't start work until 9.00 and is only a 15 minute drive away from work.
I'll try to get back later to see what else is going on. Weekends are kinda slow in here anyway, but hope all are doing well and having a good time. Mel suggest you take full days in the office very carefully. Lots of chemical vapours in the air in an office.
GOOD MORNING CHICKS. COLD, RAINY & DARK HERE. THE GRANDSON IS SNUGGLED UP IN HIS FEATHERS. NASTY WEATHER AND GOD FOR NAPPING:cloud9:
I SORTED OUT THE FILE CABINET AND EVEN MADE THINGS EASIER FOR JEN SHOULD SOMETHING HAPPEN TO ME. NOw I NEED TO MAKE A LIST AND STICK IT TO THE INSIDE LID. ALL THAT'S LEFT IS SHREDDING.
THE KIDS ARE SPENDING THE WEEKEND WITH THE BROTHER AND FRIENDS. THE BLDG IS QUIET AS A MOUSE.
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY :moped:
LAURA...THANKS TO YOU...I GOT THE FILES DONE!! CHERRY CREPES :hun: IF I WAS THERE...THE BF WOULDN'T STAND A CHANCE OF GETTING THEM  SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE FALL. VERY REMISS OF THEM NOT TO CORDON OFF THE AREA. HOPE THE BRUISE DOESN'T HURT TOO MUCH  OUR TARGET STORES ALL HAVE FOOD IN THEM LIKE MINI WALMARTS!!
SHAD...I HEAR YA ON THE CHEMICAL VAPORS. THE RUGS. THE COPIER ALONE KILLS ME SO NO ONE'S ALLOWED TO USE IT OR READ A NEWSPAPER NEAR ME!! THE INK!! THEY ARE LEARING VERY SLOWLY THAT IF THEY NEED ME THEY HAVE TO CONFORM...NOT ME. I TOLD THEM POINT BLANK THAT THERE IS NO WIGGLE ROOM ANY MORE...AND THAT FOR THE LAST TIME I AM SORRY BUT THIS IS WHO I AM NOW AND I WILL NO LONGER APOLOGIZE FOR IT. I KNOW ONE OR 2 GOT THE POINT. SAFE TRAVELS HOME LIL' SIS AND HAVE A GOOD LAST VISIT WITH R. LET US KNOW WHEN YOU ARRIVE.
Kicking the week off with a dental appointment. Ugh. Weekend flew by. Shopped the big Kohl's sale and got some undies for me and much needed clothes for DH for vacation. I concentrated on a few "must do's" this weekend like washing down the garage refrigerator and doing laundry. Didn't get the car washed - maybe next weekend. Did get a pedicure yesterday - feet are looking better even if they do have frankenstein zippers on them :D Got to bed too late last night with the old "just one more thing". It's chilly today but supposed to quickly warm up to a nice week ahead.
Mel - that's my kind of smiley face on that cup. Always a good thing to make a list on what to do and where to look for someone who will trail behind us. I need to do that too. Will you help me? Hope you had a quiet weekend and I applaud you for telling the office how THEY need to work with you instead of you suffering for it.
Shad - sending you good thoughts for the long drive home. Be safe! Same thing with you Ceejay - happy trails!
Laura - my Mom said they are converting the Target by her house into a super Target too. Maybe that's the grand plan. However her store is sandwiched between an Aldi's and a produce store so I don't know how well that will work out. I really wish they had a Meijer out here. I miss that store. I need to pick up a copy of that book too - sure could use some spring organizing around here.
Annie and Michelle - did you have a good weekend?
Sorry to be short but I have to get out of here and on my way. Back later.

Morning all...not even going to try to catch up on personals. YIKES...I still feel like poo, only a better grade of poo today than Friday. Back at work. They are letting all the temps go on Wednesday, which very much saddens me as that means my walking buddy, Nell, her last day is Wednesday. I got very emotional and had tears in my eyes as we talked this morning. I cry even easier when I don't feel well. OMG this is going to be a stressful week. I will be taking Wednesday off as my dad is having a heart cath. They found a clogged vain on the backside of his heart when he was in the hospital this last time. They are not sure they can help him as the location of the clogged vain and his health to withstand the procedure are in question. He had quadruple bypass back in 1992 and has had stents placed twice and a pacemake/defib placed, then the batteries replaced last month, all since have the original surgery. Then.....Remind me not to visit my momma on days she has dialysis. She is so tired that she talks delirously out of her head. Freaky deaky. I will not be visiting her on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays. Why must we suffer in these crappy bodies before we die? Mom and dad, neither one feel good and truly don't want to live this way. D*mn it.
I probably ought to get off of here as I don't feel good and am not in a very good mood at the moment. I think I need to stick my head in the toitie, flush for a swirlie.
Later gaters...

Well, it's Monday and once again the weekend was way too short!
I did an hour of Advanced Zumba on Friday night and again on Saturday morning. Then I did my grocery shopping, laundry and website work. Yesterday, DH and I went and saw Alice in Wonderland...which I highly recommend if you like Tim Burton movies. We didn't see it in 3D, but now I wish we had as there were SO many scenes that would've been even cooler in 3D. But despite seeing it in 2D, we thoroughly enjoyed it and had lots of fun!
Last night, I was really, really exhausted, and this morning, I woke up still exhausted and with a sore throat. I hope I'm not coming down with anything. I'm skipping Zumba tonight so I can rest after work (hoping to nip this in the bud).
Shad - You're probably still on the road...so I'm wishing you safe travels. I got a great chuckle out of your "Irish" post! I hope your sinuses are better so you can drive clear headed. So nice of the company to give you a sendoff and flowers! Bummer you can't take them home with you.
Ceejay - Safe travels to you as well. I hope you had a lovely visit with your sister.
Laura - Other than the attack of the end cap, it sounds like you had a very nice weekend. :) Seriously, I hope your leg is doing okay - it sounds like it was very painful. I much prefer the exercise side of the equation to the diet side, which is funny because 4 or 5 years ago...I HATED exercise. That SPACE acronym sounds interesting. What is the equalize part of it? I hope the book comes into my library soon (I've already put a "request/hold" on it). I hope you're feeling better and the cold and migraines have gone away. I almost called in sick today...as I felt like a day of sleep would've done wonders for me.
Mel - Hope you're feeling warmer today. We're supposed to get up to 70 degrees by the end of the week! :dancer: :beach: As for resting my muscles...I take at least a day off (usually two) between strength training workouts. But I try and do cardio (Zumba or Wii Fit or walking) every day. You and Laura are inspiring me to get the house organized, which is a very good thing. DMIL will be coming out in early May and I might as well start organizing, decluttering and tidying up now. I hope you got to relax a bit over the weekend. Good for you for telling the office they have to accommodate your needs.
Happy - I hope the dentist visit goes well. Thanks for shopping at Kohl's! It's always appreciated!!
Annie - Sorry that you are still feeling yucky. And so sad that your friend will be let go. :( Hopefully, you can still stay in touch by phone, email and FB. I stay in touch with many of my former co-workers. I'll keep your dad in my thoughts and prayers for his heart cath on Wednesday. I hope your day and week go okay, sista, and that you feel better.
I've got to get ready for a meeting...so ta ta till later.

Hi everyone! Back at work today, feeling quite a bit better. The migraines are gone - yay! There's still chest congestion though. Not coughing a lot, but doing a lot of throat clearing. Read more of that organization book this weekend. I'm sort of disappointed by the chapters about organization of specific spaces. I guess it's so much individual preferences, it's too restrictive to just write "this is how you should organize your photographs". But at least it gets you thinking instead of just charging ahead w/ no strategy. I can't extend my checkout on the book anymore, so it's due on the 30th or 31st... I can re-check it if I need to. I was thinking of buying it used, but I dunno. I'll keep going on it until it's due.
Mel - Thanks for the graphics - they make me smile! :)
Happy - I think it's time for a pedicure for me too!
Ceejay - have a good and SAFE drive home.
Annie - Sorry you're still feeling crummy. It must be so very difficult to see your parents going through these physical trials. I hope you father's procedure goes well this week. Sorry you're losing the temps this week - sad time. Take care!
Michelle - Too bad you didn't take a sick day to rest up. Definitely take it easy and get some rest tonight!! Re "Equalize" - that just means (I think) keeping up the organizing system and refining it once you've been using it for a bit. If you created a file for something and realize you don't really need it, or you want to rename it - I think making adjustments is part of the "E". Not as self-evident as the rest of the letters in the acronym.
Well, I need to get some work done. Boo. Why can't I be independently wealthy - a philanthropist attending a ritzy charity function once a week or so and doing as I please the rest of the time?? Oh well. Back to reality.
Have a good Monday everyone, and Shad - safe travels to you!

Laura - Glad to hear you're feeling better. Bummer that you still have chest congestion...sometimes that takes so long to clear out. Have you tried Mucinex? That stuff usually works wonders. I'm having a blonde day, Laura. Could you please remind me of the title of the organization book? Thanks! As for being independently wealthy...you can be the philanthropist attending ritzy charity functions...I'd rather just earn a 6 figure salary for spending time petting doggies and kitties. ah, back to work so I can earn my keep.

Michelle - I do have some Mucinex. I took some on Saturday - it seemed like it really dried me out. It's always something! The book is Organizing from the Inside Out by Julie Morgenstern.
Happy - thanks for offering to put up the new thread. :)

I have been taking the Mucinex DM for chest congestion since Thursday night. I must say it is helping but not as fast as I would like for it to work. Thank God my head is not clogged or stopped up. It is just the chesters, and that is a loooonnnnnggggg way down.....lol

It is so good to be home. I did have a nice drive even though I made a wrong turn in Jonesboro. At least I found some new territory. I knew where I was when I saw the place where my uncle had his back sugery.
The baby shower for my nephew and his gf went really well. They got every thing they needed.
It is so good to be able to sleep in my own bed tonight.
Annie
hope you do not have pnuemonia. Sending good vibes to for your mom and dad and to you too.

Tis Tuesday once again...I saw the little bitty Easter bunny hopping across the road this morning. He was quick at it too!
Shaddie...welcome back home sista...all that driving, yikes, no wonder the back hurts and legs are bunko. Take it easy and get back into the groove.
Ceejay...glad the baby shower went well. At least the wrong turn didn't take you into unknown territory. Sometimes when we get off the beaten path we find great things...good you made it home safe.
Happy...yep was in bed, asleep by 8:30 last night. Didn't do a dang thing around the house or go anywhere.
Laura...thank you Jesus for the Mucinex. Glad your migraines are gone too! THat is one annoyance I can not stand.
Chelle...did you exercise off the planet? Good morning sista.
MELLIE....where the heck are you sista. Are you too busy googling the firemen? I think they have a calendar out with the fireman of the month on each page. ~wink~
I am feeling a bit better today. Still congested but it is breaking up quite a bit. Down to a THICK RATTLE hacking noise. lol

Annie - glad you're feeling a bit better today. I feel alright, but I can't really hold a conversation w/o starting to cough. Good excuse to keep to myself.
Shad & Ceejay - Happy to hear you're both home safe and sound. Well, physically sound anyway - not sure about mentally, ha ha.
Mel - Sorry the sciatica is acting up. I wish you were just ogling firemen like Annie thought, LOL. Take it easy and get better soon!!
Hi Happy, hi Michelle!
Nothin' much to report. Took doggy for a walk after work yesterday, then watched DWTS & Castle. Didn't get the bike up to the garage because it won't fit in there with the car parked in there. Sigh. Might have to just leave it in the backyard, but then it's a pain to wheel through the gate and over the @#!$% downspout going across the sidewalk. Maybe the garage project needs to take priority over the office organization project... Seeing Alice in Wonderland tonight, 3D.
Okay, over and out. :flow1:

Hi ladies,
I wish I had a way to just transfer my posts from brain through the computer without typing - maybe then I'd get a post up!
I checked and my library has the Organization book. I tried to put it on hold but apparently my library card expired so I'm going to see if I can get over there tonight to pick it up. I need some organization in my life.
My foot is doing ok. I am still in the surgical shoe. Because most of the work was at the outside of my foot by the left little toe - it's still quite sore there even though the incision is healing on the outside. I find that all of my shoes after a while make my foot swell and press uncomfortably at the wound so I'm still in 2 different shoes and probably will be for a while. I have one pair of sandals I'm going to try but doc said make sure you have something that provides enough support so we'll see.
Went to the dentist and I need another root canal and crown. I am replacing my teeth one at a time. Soon my foot and mouth will be worth more than my house :( They called today and said they had a cancellation tomorrow, did I want to take it? Heck NO. I need until next month to scrape up the funds and the willpower to get back in the chair again. I am so over doctors. I think I need some good booze. One tequila two tequila three tequila four, drink 'em down as fast as you can until you kiss the floor
I saw Avatar in 3D and after a while I had to look over my glasses and back to see the 3D part. I wasn't that impressed with the 3D although I really liked the movie. I think my fascination with Alice is the costumes and make up. And Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee and the Red Queen just fascinate me. So I am jealous of those of you who have seen it. I will have to wait until it's on cable as no way DH will go see it. He hates Johnny Depp - thinks he's as wierd as his movies. Ok, so what's the point here?
Enjoy the movie Laura! It's really annoying when you can't talk without coughing - hope you dry up soon.
Mel - I am sorry you are feeling badly. Better a headache than the dreaded sciatica. Would give you a backrub if I could  Are you getting any of that terrible rain? I think Rhode Island is going to float away. That's ok now that DH sold his interest in his father's house. :s: But I would not want to see you float down the Hudson woman.
Annie - I miss seeing the Easter bunny out here. Strangely we don't have rabbits. I've only seen 2 in 5 years here. Someone said that's because the locals catch and eat them :yikes:  Say it ain't so  Since you like those peppers and hot things, could they maybe help you keep the pipes clear in the respiratory system? Just askin'. I'm sorry to hear your folks are dealing with such heavy medical issues. You're right - getting old is no picnic. And sometimes I think the meds make it worse.
Shad - glad to hear you made it home. That was quite a long drive. I think a good soak is in order as well as a day of lounging. The garden will wait one more day. Rest and recover.
Ceejay - glad you had a good trip and that you found your way around a wrong turn. As long as you're not in a bad area, it's a chance to explore - provided you can find your way back on the road again!
Michelle - for a low 6 figure income, I'll be an assistant to you petting kitties and walking doggies  How's Miss Zumba today? Are you feeling better? Don't make me come up there and chase you into bed - you know spring is here and so starts road construction so it won't be a pleasant drive.
Lunch is over - back to work. See yahs.

Afternoon all,
Feeling a little more human today. Not that I am rushing into things. Miss Puss and I have had a few cuddles today.
Ceejay - I thoroughly endorse the feeling of sleeping in your own bed. I don't really have much difficulty in sleeping anywhere but hey..... east or west, home is best. I slept like a log last night.
Mel - glad to hear the filing is up to date. Now get over here and fix mine please. I might have to see if that book is available over here.
Umm don't take this personally but I think I might leave personals until my head is in a better place. I find a post, I read the post, I think about what I might say and then I forget it just scrolling back to the bottom
My back still hurts. I must have done something to it when I was shifting the luggage around in the car. I was just standing there with my right arm on the hatch lid and thinking about how to change it when I had a sudden twitch in the lower right back. Don't know what did it, don't care. Between that and the enforced 10 hours of sitting straight my back hurts. And it doesn't get better if I sit either. Last nights long sleep has made it better - the pain is now in a wider area but not as savage. I went for a walk this morning to move things in the legs and that also has improved it, but not fixed it. So I'd better keep moving to ensure it will not seize up on me. Must be getting old. First the right shoulder, now the right hip, this morning the right knee was on strike as well and the right instep of my foot said it should not be in a running shoe.
Back tomorrow

I did get Laura's organization book last night from the library and am committed to reading it before I have to return it (am famous for that). Thanks Laura!
Annie - hope all goes well with Dad
Shad - sorry I missed you last night on FB. Was replying to you and my PC hung and Windows crashed. Some bad device driver or something. DH needs to work on my PC. Will catch up later.
Gotta go pack stuff up. Later chicks

Happy Wednesday ladies -
I've had a pretty bad cold for the past few days. In fact, I went home ill Monday afternoon and stayed home yesterday. So now I have lots to catch up on. I haven't done a bit of exercise since Sunday night, but I have been drinking water, eating healthy and all that. I'd like to go to Zumba tonight since it's the instructor's b'day and we've planned a little something for her prior to class, but I'll see how I feel. If I don't feel up to Zumba-ing, I may just go for the b'day thing and then leave.
Annie - Sending good wishes for your dad's heart cath today. :goodvibes: I think I'd rather have a clogged head then a chest cold. When crud gets in my chest, it takes a month or two or three of being on steroids to get it cleared up. Hope you're feeling better, girlfriend.
Laura - I've been taking Nyquil so I could get plenty of rest to hopefully kick this thing before it got bad like what you and Annie have. I watched DWTS results show and I was surprised Shannon D. was voted off before Buzz or Kate. I thought she did better than both of them. I give Buzz props though for doing as well as he did at his age. But Kate...ugh...I didn't like her meltdown during training OR her dancing. Hope you enjoy Alice in 3D. I'd like to go back and see it again in 3D now. We shoulda seen in in 3D the first time.
Ceejay - Glad you made it home safe and had a nice visit.
Shad - It's no wonder you're sore after such a long drive. I'm glad you made it home okay. I hope you rest a bit 'till you get to feeling better.
Mel - Sciatica sucks! I hope the pain eases up very quickly!
Happy - Sorry to hear you're still having foot pain. What I ended up doing after I had foot surgery was buying a pair of inexpensive but nice flats in my regular size and a pair in extra wide width, then I'd put the wide width shoe on my recovering foot. Another root canal and crown! Yikes, sista! Love your tequila rhyme. I've heard another version..."One tequila two tequila three tequila FLOOR." And your DH is right...Johnny Depp is a little odd, and his movies, especially the Tim Burton movies, are definitely weird. But I think they're weird in a good way! We have lots of Easter bunnies around here, and the other night when I checked the yard prior to letting the dogs out...which I always do because I'd hate to see them get into a tussle with a critter, we had a ginormous coon in the yard. It had to be at least 30 lbs from the size of it. I shined the flashlight on it and waited until it jumped over the fence and was out of the yard before I released the hounds...er Schnauzers. Speaking of doggies, when I find a way to make a huge salary petting animals, I'll definitely hire ya' as an assistant. I've taken a couple days off of Zumba...I may try for tonight. We'll see. Heck, I don't even feel like dancing around the house...so I know I'm not feeling well.
Well, I've lots to get done today, so I'd better get to it.
Here's to a great day for all of us (including Annie's dad)!
Love and hugs to all,
Laura705

Hello All.
Annie - Hope your dad's procedure goes well today.
Ceejay - I agree, feels good to sleep in your own bed w/ your own pillow. Only two work days this week - I'm jealous! Enjoy the short week!
Shad - Sorry your back is bugging you - and your whole right side. I hope the pains ease up soon. Moving around is good, but no heavy duty stuff, okay??
Happy - Too bad your foot's still giving you pain. I like Michelle's idea of buying a wider-sized pair. I'd suggest house slippers, but most have no support. Ugh, root canal. Bf's mom doesn't have dental insurance, but needs one. If she buys the insurance, she has a waiting period... she's going to talk to her dentist and see what she can work out with him. Let's just say he can be creative about things and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him and the phrase "insurance fraud" used in the same sentence.
Michelle - Sorry to hear you couldn't nip the cold in the bud. Hope you feel better soon. So far I haven't had any wheezing related to this cold, but I certainly understand why you'd rather deal w/ head congestion than chest congestion if it causes lung issues for you. I didn't see the DWTS results, but heard about Shannon. I've tuned in late to both of the DWTS shows I've seen and never saw Shannon dance, but it's hard to believe she'd be worse than Kate G.!! Maybe people actually want to see Kate melt down again?? Since Kate's still in it, I'd actually like to see her get better and enjoy herself a bit. She needs to take something right before her performance to take the edge off her nervousness, LOL.
Mel - Hey lady, where are you? Maybe you're a sneaker inner today. Oh, forgot about that nasty sciatica. I hope you're feeling better today.
Last night we saw the movie Alice in Wonderland in 3D. It just wasn’t my thing. No wonder I never made it through the Lewis Carroll book as a kid - it’s just not the kind of fiction I like! And I guess I’m not much of a Tim Burton fan either - too off the wall for me. But I thought Helena Bonham Carter was very good as the Red Queen - off with his head!! :D We saw a preview for Toy Story 3 - it looks cute. I think I saw the first one, but not the 2nd.
Okay, enought dilly-dallying. Work to do!!
Not much else to report. Food is no good - snacking is my big downfall. Tonight I'll exercise, walk doggy and get my bike ready to ride to the train tomorrow.
diyana
03-31-2010, 12:20 PM
Laura - Shannon was ok. I actually thought Kate was worse than Buzz! She was SO tense. She had a deer in the headlights expression on her face the whole time (IMO). It looked like Tony (her dance pro) was pulling her along at some points, and she was "behind" the beat most of the time. Of course, I could be biased...because the personality she's displayed during the behind the scenes training moments makes me root against her not for her. Bummer that you didn't like Alice. It was definitely a Tim Burton-type movie. And most people either really like his stuff or really don't like it. Good for you for doing all the exercise. Let's motivate each other to get and keep the snacking under control.

Oh me you have it too. Feel better soon. I thought the same thing as you did about Kate on Dancing with the Stars.
Laura
I was thinking of buying the dvd of Alice in Wonderland when it came out but I'm not too sure now. Did you see the latest movie with Sandra Bullock, The Blind Side? I bough this dvd and watched it at my sister's this week end.

Morning all,
Back is so much better today. I actually want to bend again. Might try the yoga dvd today.
Today will be another one like yesterday, fairly quiet and productive with lots of rests in between frantic activity. Flylady watch out.
Seems everyone is on the lookout for Laura's organisation book. I'm trying to hunt it down over here. May have to go to a book reseller on the web. That will cost!!
Happy - didn't realise you were so anxious not to talk to me that you would crash your computer.
Annie - hope things went okay for your Dads procedure this morning. Take care
Michelle - sorry to hear that you have been sick. Get better soon
Laura - Sorry you didn't enjoy Alice. I'm not a great movie fan myself so I really don't know what is on at the moment. I should get into it again.
Ceejay - Seems everyone thought I didn't stop for breaks on the way home. My sister told me I was a complete idiot. Yes I did stop. I had breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. I stopped for fuel. It's just 12 hours is too much driving in one day. I'm not as fit as I used to be.
Mel - hope the sciatica is going away. I did warn you about offices. They give you a pain in the butt every time.
Okay - I'd better go check out the day and make out a shopping list. It's the Thursday before Easter and the shops will be packed so I should go early. I'm meeting the niece and the niecelet for an early lunch so will need to get cracking. I've been mucking around sending out resume (cv) to a few places. I guess I might as well get right onto it.
See you all later
