Hi All:
I think we need a new one.
I think we need a new one.
LA Weight Loss - La Weightloss #52View Full Version : La Weightloss #52 dianem1 08-28-2002, 05:31 PM Hi All: I think we need a new one. dianem1 08-28-2002, 05:41 PM Hi Everyone: I have been off program for a while. The weekend we were away was tough. I did not make good choices. I thought There would have been better menu selection then there was alot of fast food. I should have been better prepared and brought food with me. Jibbelle glad you hit your mark again. I need to re-hit the sixty pound mark again. I have not been back to the center yet but I am doing really well these past two days. Kathy so how did you like the new Firm tapes? I am glad you are back on track. Diane JoyUvette 08-28-2002, 10:14 PM Well, I really cheated at my bridal shower this past weekend, but I tried to catch up before weighing in today. I am down one pound - whew! I was really afraid I had gained, but I'll take any progress. I'm still striving for that wedding goal! Jibbelle 08-29-2002, 09:03 AM Diane- Thanks for the new thread...and glad to see you are back and on plan. Where did you go for the weekend? Does anyone know how often the center says you can do the Take-Off? Once every other week? I cant remember. I have had a really bad week as far as staying on plan goes. I bought some of the hollywood juice at Walmart and I am doing Take Off today and tomorrow (before I go weigh in on Saturday). Gosh...what happened to the motivation and self control I had 6 months ago!!!:headache: OK...better get some work done. Have a great day all! :flow2: dianem1 08-29-2002, 04:41 PM Jibbelle: The take-off is every other week. I have lost motivation so many times I lost count. But hey we are still sticking with it, that is something to be very proud of. I went to Bethany Beach in Delaware. It was the first time I was there, my sister wanted to go there (her daughter's name is Bethany). She wants to go back next year. They have a strip of store outlets that I could of went crazy in but we did not have enough time. Joy did you have a nice time at your bridal shower? Well I went back to the center today, I am trying to look at it as a mini-restart. Trying to keep things fresh and focused. I am not buying anymore weeks I have fooled around enough. Have a good day everyone Diane 04/06/01 201 08/29/02 154.6 goal 135 Jibbelle 08-29-2002, 05:33 PM I am considering not buying any more weeks once I run out of the bars/shakes that I have. I have enough for a couple more months. I am just no losing as much as I should, so maybe it is time for a new plan. I am thinking about trying the WW winning points program. I have a friend who is doing it and doing wonderful. I think maybe my body just needs a change of pace. We will see how the next month or so goes. SpringManor 08-29-2002, 09:23 PM Hi everyone. I weighed in yesterday and was down 4.6 lbs. Wow that was great. I weighed twice to make sure...lol. I have been trying real hard. So I will take it. Jibbelle: You really going to switch plans? You will stay on this board though right? You are an inspiration to us. Jibbelle 08-30-2002, 08:10 AM Lorrie-- I think I am going to change to WW this weekend. I just am not sticking to the LA plan anymore. I, and my body, need a change. I will continue to post here though. I may not be on the same plan as everyone else, but we are all in this together!!! When I first signed up LAWL told me if I did not use all the bars I purchased I could be reimbursed...so I am anxious to see if they were telling the truth. I think I have about 10 boxes left. If not...they will be for sale!! I have a 4-6 boxes of vanilla and strawberry shakes I bought off ebay...but I may keep those. I bet I can work them into my plan and the soy is good for you! I am going to the WW center on Saturday to talk to them more about the plan and costs. Will let you know how it goes! SpringManor 08-30-2002, 08:41 AM Jibbelle: Keep us posted then how you do and what you find out at WW also. You have done so good to quit now. It will be to easy to gain it back so please be careful and don't give up Jibbelle 08-30-2002, 08:45 AM That is exactly why I am switching right away. I do not want to gain what I lost. I am going to find a new program before I quit LA for sure! I have come to far to quit now! Kitkat3NY 08-30-2002, 11:14 AM Hi all! Just back from weigh in and i'm down another pound from Wed. Thank God! When I gained .8 on Wed, I thouhgt it was the beginning of the end! lol Jibbelle- I'm sorry your not loosing as much weight as you wanted to on the plan. Do what ever works for you. I was on WW, I spent 43wks on it and only lost 10#. It didn't work for me, because i had too much freedom. I would spend most of my points on a big meal, things like that. I loved the meetings though. My mom and I did the program together and she lost 30# and is still loosing so it was the right program for her but not for me. I've been on LAWL for 13wks and have lost 17# even w/ messing up for 6 of those weeks. I just want you to be careful. If your the type of person like me that needs strictness and lots of support than i'd say tough it out w/ LAWL,but if your like my mom who needs to make her own choices and have a variety of foods, then i'd say try WW. Either way, I'm glad your still going to posting here, cause like you said we are all in this together! Springmanor- congrats on the weightloss! 4.6# ALRIGHT! Diane- I thanked God for the new firm tapes cause they got me back on track during those hot July and August days! Now,i've been doing Cathe for the past few weeks. I notice that after a heavy tape like MIS or PH I gain the next day. I know it's the weight of the muscle but I don't like seeing the scale go up for any reason, so I think i'm gonna stick to do the Firm Classics along w/ FS and Cathe's RS and Gin Miller's Intense Moves for cardio. How's that sound? Are you doing any particular rotation? I hope you get back on track soon. I didn't realize we could do the take off 2x month. that's good news. Joy, congrats on that one pound lost for good! Kathy 184/167.2/120 or 130 whatever looks best Jibbelle 08-31-2002, 03:01 PM Well...I went to LA for the last time this morning. They even refunded me for the 15 unused boxes of bars I had! It will be 4 weeks before I get the check...but I was glad they did what they said they would do! I still have maybe 30 packets of vanilla and strawberry shakes that I am not sure what I am doing with yet. If anyone is interested in buying some let me know! So...I signed up for 8 weeks of Weight Watchers this morning. There was a one time fee of $25 for all the materials. That fee plus the 8 weeks was $74. Not too bad considering I do not have to spend $28 a week on bars! I am going to try it out for 2 months to see how I like it....and make a decision from there. I am still planning on posting here, it is such a great group of people. I still need to stay "OP" even if it is a different one that each of you! The scales at their center weighed me at 242.2. Higher than at LA but closer to my home scales. So...back to getting to that 50 lb goal again! *laughing* Have a great holiday all! SpringManor 08-31-2002, 05:33 PM Marcie...good luck with WW and I am glad you will still be posting on here. Don't be hanging out on the WW boards now and forget about us....lol Jibbelle 08-31-2002, 05:56 PM I have already visited them with some questions, but I promise not to get to friendly with them! LOL dianem1 08-31-2002, 08:23 PM Marcie: Good luck with WW. I am glad you did not have any trouble with geeting your money back for the lites. Did you go on hold there or did you quit the program all together? I happy that you are still going to post here. We have such a nice and supportive group. I bet the once a week weigh in will be a nice change also. Diane Jibbelle 08-31-2002, 08:31 PM I just quit...I actually told them I was relocating...hehehe. I only had two weeks left, so I did not care about losing them. I am planning on posting here still! Guess what I had today?? A banana! WOOHOO dianem1 09-01-2002, 10:15 AM Hey Marcie: Enjoy the banana. Do you feel excited about starting a new program after being on La so long, have you done WW before? Diane Jibbelle 09-01-2002, 11:08 AM I am very excited. I just lost my motivation on the LA plan. I have never done WW before, but so far I really like it. So much more variety in the diet. You can eat what you want within your point range, but they suggest eating more whole grains and fresh fruits/veggies than proteins. It is kind of the opposite from what you do in LA. I am on day 2 and have had no urges to cheat at all! Even last night when Matt was eating ice cream! I am not sure if it is because of the variety of food I am getting or if it is because of the new program and a new sense of motivation! But whatever it is, I like it! So far so good! I guess I will see how I am doing when I go to weigh in on Saturday. She said it may take a couple weeks to lose anything, since my body is readjusting to the new diet...especially since this one has more food! Well...depending on how you spend your points! I guess a big mac and large fries would take almost a whole days worth of points. They do have a lot of foods that are 0 points. Most are the veggies that were on the LA plan. Will keep you posted! JoyUvette 09-02-2002, 09:55 PM Jibelle, You sound pleased with the new plan. That is wonderful. I'm glad you will be keeping us posted on your success. You are such an inspiration to this group. I have really had a hard time sticking to my plan during this pre-wedding stuff. Hopefully I will not have gained too much when I weigh in tomorrow. I must admit, it's hard to concentrate on LAWL with the wedding so close. However, I do want to look my best on the special day. You all seem to be doing so well. It's good to know someone is. Hopefully, my motivation will spring back soon. I would love to see my goal weight ASAP. Strangely enough, my husband-to-be keeps begging me to stop at 160. He knew me when from the time I was 108 all the way up to 200, and he preferred my appearance on the "upside." He stresses that he wants me to be happy, but that I shouldn't be obsessed with it. I suppose he's right. He's very supportive, and it's nice to have someone who thinks I'm beautiful with or without the weight. Well, I'm rambling, so I'll close now. I'll be back with weigh-in results tomorrow! Joy dianem1 09-03-2002, 12:02 PM Jibbelle: I am glad you are enjoying the points system and the variety. I have ten weeks left with LA and I am going to see if I could turn things around and get back on track. I was tempted when you joined WW but I figured ten weeks there would cost me another $89.50. Joy I am glad you have the extra support, it helps alot. Good luck this week with Everything. Are you going to show us a picture of the special day? Diane Jibbelle 09-03-2002, 12:17 PM Diane- You are soooo close! You should keep at it...I am sure you can do it! It isnt worth switching to another plan unless you cant make LA work in the next 10 weeks. At that point....maybe it is worth considering. Joy- Your wedding is right around the corner!! I hope I am saying the same thing soon. When do I get my ring?? Darn that boyfriend of mine! LOL Kitkat3NY 09-03-2002, 03:31 PM Good Morning all! I am so happy! I just made the 20# mark today! Thank God! Jibbelle- I'm so happy your digging WW's now. I hope it really works out for you and i'm also happy your going to continue posting here. Joy- I'm so glad your hubby-to-be is so supportive. Must feel good to know he's in your corner no matter what weight you are! I hope your motivations comes back soon, but you have so much on your plate right now w/ the upcoming wedding it's understandable! Kathy 184/164/120 or 130 JoyUvette 09-04-2002, 09:56 AM Well, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that I weighed in with a 2 poung gain. The good news is that I'll be a married woman in 2 days! :D My counselor put me on the 2-day Express to try and get rid of a few last pounds before the big day. Hopefully, my dress will fit a little loose when this is all over, because I know the plan is out the door for Saturday, but I will do my best to get right back on point thereafter. My progress is very slow on this plan, but it is working. Hopefully, my motivation will come back after all this other excitement (and stress) is over! I'll keep you all posted. It's good to see that others are still making progress. Kathy, I can't wait to get where you are! GringaGordita 09-04-2002, 12:02 PM Hi guys, just checking in to let you know i made it through the first day. it wasn't too bad, but i'm not crazy about this juice. I'm drinking the recommended amount of juice, but i'm diluting it like crazy. Jibbelle, just wanted to wish you luck on WW. I have a friend who's doing it and she really likes it. I think she's lost about 20 pounds now. I thought about doing it, but felt like i needed a little more structure. If i have too many choices, i know i'll make the wrong ones! Kitkat congrats on the 20 pound mark. that's awesome. JoyUvette - congrats on the wedding. you must be really ready to get it over with by now after all the planning. what's your dress like??? JoyUvette 09-04-2002, 03:27 PM Here's the wedding dress... JoyUvette 09-04-2002, 03:29 PM This is the front view... Thanks to LAWL, I can wear it in size 11 on the big day! :dizzy: GringaGordita 09-04-2002, 03:42 PM OMG! That's gorgeous!!! SpringManor 09-04-2002, 03:45 PM Joy that is an absolutely beautiful dress. You are going to be beautiful in it. Congratulations for being able to fit it. You must be on cloud nine right now. Have a wonderful Wedding and don't forget to post in from time to time to let us know how the newlyweds are doing. We will be with you in spirit. I am not doing to well right now myself. Losing motivation again. Should of weighed in today but didn't. Shame on me. Jibbelle 09-04-2002, 04:32 PM Beautiful dress! I am so excited for you! You need to post some wedding pics when you get them!!! Would love to see them! Where is the honeymoon? I am soooo jealous! I wanna ring!!!!! Gringa- I agree with you about the juice, I do not like it much either. They did tell you that you dilute it in half right?? Some people say it is better when it is very cold, almost frozen. Maybe try that! I put lots of ice in mine. GringaGordita 09-04-2002, 05:09 PM Yeah. i diluted it as directed, then i diluted it some more. it's not horrible, but it's not very tasty. of course, i'm coming down with a cold too, so that may be why i find it sort of gross. oh well, i just finished all the juice i have to drink for today. i'll try drinking it really cold tomorrow. thanks for the info. xYTx 09-05-2002, 10:03 AM Gringa - I don't like that juice either. It always makes me feel weird and sort of dizzy. But the express really worked... I did it when I joined LAWL and lost 7 lbs over the weekend. Soon you'll be eating "normal" food, so look forward to that! :) Joy - That dress is soooo fairy-tale wedding!! If I had to design the perfect dress for the perfect wedding, that would be it! Congrats on the size 11 and looking awesome for your wedding day! Kathy - Congratulations on hitting the 20 lb mark!! It's weird, isn't it? Whenever I hit a mark like that, I look back and try to imagine carrying that extra weight around, and I just can't imagine it. I picked up a 20 lb. bag of dog food just to see what it felt like, and I couldn't believe how heavy it was. Our bodies are thanking us, I think. As for myself, I struggled a lot in the last couple of weeks: vacations, summer outings, etc... but I'm finally back on track, and below my lowest weight again. I was starting to think It was impossible to get back on track. I was on that cycle where I worked really hard for a few days, lost a lb, and then binged because I was so happy I'd lost. Horrible!! I've also started weighing myself backward at the center. It is a little easier on me, since they seem to be "messing up the scale" a lot lately. I haven't been working out like I should because I started a new job in addition to school part-time. I have an evening shift until 9 or 10, so I come home exhausted. Fortunately, I think all the running around at work is doing the trick. Weird! My birthday's coming up (9/10/02), and I promised myself a long time ago that when I go out that weekend, I will have some kind of treat I haven't had since starting LA. Birthday cake or something. Just so long as I work really hard until then. I think it's do-able :) GringaGordita 09-05-2002, 03:47 PM well, day 3 has been pretty painless. i have a bit of a cold, so i haven't really wanted to eat anyway. i go for a weigh-in tonight, so i guess i'll see how i did then. wish me luck Jibbelle 09-05-2002, 06:11 PM When I did the take off the first time I didnt lose anything...but I lost 5 lbs the first week and 4.5 the second! So....if you dont lose, dont be discouraged! GringaGordita 09-06-2002, 12:22 PM Good news ladies! I was down 4.25 pounds. way better than i expected...especially since it's almost that TOM for me. I'm on the 5 day ultra express now. that's a lot of food. way more than what i was expecting. i have to say, i'm loving this chocolate crunch la lite...yummy! i'm sure i'll get sick of them before long, but it was a great treat after three days of no sweets. SpringManor 09-06-2002, 06:59 PM congratulations Gringa on the weight loss....way to go. It feels so good doesn't it. kmabry1234 09-06-2002, 07:08 PM HELP ME!!!! I need some help here. I know what I need to do to get in shape. I have a membership to the gym but I just don't have the energy to go. I am finding that my close aren't fitting. I have almost outgrown my pants AGAIN. What do I do. I find myself getting overwelmed with eveything. I met a man that is very understanding but he seems to be able to eat anything and not gain one ounce. I know this something that only "I" can do but I just need something to spark that fuse. I don't have the money to pay for LAWL again. God I wish that I did. :( I just feel like crying some days because I have let myself get so heavy again. What should I do?? Karen Jibbelle 09-06-2002, 07:18 PM Way to go Gringa!!! That is a great first week! Good luck on the 5 day ultra express. I do not know what that one is....does it use juice too? The chocolate crunch are my favorite bars!!! And I never got sick of them!!! Karen- Do you still have the plans from LAWL that you can follow from home? Do you have enough self control to actually follow them or do you need the accountability that going to the center provides? I have my first WW weigh in tomorrow...I am anxious to see how week one turned out! Any loss would make me happy, but I would especially love to see a pound or two. It is that TOM so I am not sure what to expect! *keeping fingers crossed* I found this on a WW website, I know that LAWL doesnt use points, but the message is still the same. :) When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down And you feel like the biggest failure in town; When you want to give up just because you gave in And forget all about being healthy and thin; So what! You went over your points a bit; So don't you quit! It's a moment of truth, It's an attitude change; It's learning the skills to get back in your range; It's telling yourself "You've done great up till now; You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow." It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal; You're still gonna make it, just stay in control. To stumble and fall is not a disgrace If you summon the will to get back in the race; But, often the strugglers, when losing their grip Just throw in the towel and continue to slip And learn too late when the damage is done That the race wasn't over and they still could have won. Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow But facing each challenge will help you to grow; Success is failure turned inside out The silver tint in the cloud of doubt. When you're pushing to the brink, Just refuse to submit; If you bite it you write it...But don't you quit! GringaGordita 09-06-2002, 09:15 PM thanks for the encouraging poem...stuff like that always hits home for me. Karen, believe me, i do know how you feel. i have done no telling how many diets, then i'll slip and not get back on track and regain all my weight and then some. the only reason i finally joined LAWL was because my mom was diagnosed with diabetes. it scared me so much that i decided i had to take action. i'm cautiously optimistic about LAWL simply because of the accountability. as for the gym part, i know it's hard, but you can do it. i do cardio 3 times per week and lift weights 3 times a week. (i'm doing the body for life workouts) i also started doing yoga recently. what worked to get me back into the gym was making myself get up very early and do it before anything else. within a week or so, my energy was up. it really helps as a stress relief too. sorry for babbling on so much but i hope this helps. good luck. you can do it. Jibbelle 09-07-2002, 11:26 AM I just finished week one on WW and I am down 3 lbs! WOOHOO I am almost back to the 50 lb mark. Their scale was 5 lbs higher than the one LAWL used! I am hoping that next week I hit 238 again. Gringa- I bet you fly by that Halloween goal by mid October. Keep it up girl! GringaGordita 09-07-2002, 11:47 AM Wow Jibbelle, that's great! I know you're excited to start losing again. Way to go. Jibbelle 09-07-2002, 11:55 AM I think this is the 3rd time I have lost these few lbs! Third time is the charm though right?? :flow2: GringaGordita 09-07-2002, 02:06 PM yeah, but just look at where you are compared to a year ago...i mean, you have lost 50 pounds and kept it off. that's wonderful Jibbelle 09-07-2002, 02:23 PM It is great! You will be there soon too! GringaGordita 09-08-2002, 10:36 AM quick question...does anyone have the LAWL cookbook? do you know how much it costs? is it worth buying??? i love to cook, so i thought it might be something i was interested in. please let me know if you guys have any imput! Jibbelle 09-08-2002, 10:55 AM I do not have the current cookbook, but I have a much older one. I think the new one is $28 regular price. They occassionally have specials or coupons for it though. You can also frequently find them for sale on Ebay also. Our center has one out on the counter and I browsed through it a few times. Maybe you can do the same! GringaGordita 09-08-2002, 11:09 AM Good idea. I may ask to take a look at it the next time i'm in. Jibbelle 09-08-2002, 11:14 AM It is a good idea....then you can decide if you like the recipes and if you will actually use it. I am pretty sure Diane has the cookbook, maybe she will post about it too. er130 09-08-2002, 05:28 PM Hello, I'm new to LAWL, but am excited to be a part of this with all of you. I lost 3 pounds the first 3 days, that is really motivating. I'm finding it hard to eat such bland food, and not knowing how to cook. I'm on the purple plan right now. If anyone has any advice on recipes I would love to have them. I'm glad to be a part of your group. SpringManor 09-08-2002, 05:40 PM Welcome er130. We are all in the same boat here. Struggling to get the weight off. We are a very supportive group and help each other alot. Since I first started LA I have lost 93 lbs. I am struggling with the last few pounds but that is my fault now the diets. It really does work when nothing else did for me. So welcome and if we can help you we surely will try Jibbelle 09-08-2002, 06:59 PM Welcome ER130! I agree that the cooking is a bit bland when doing LA. I bought every flavor of Ms. Dash seasonings and used them on everything! I used a lot of green onion and garlic when cooking also...that seemed to help with the flavor. I will see if I can hunt up a couple recipes for you. I have one for a makeshift chicken parmasean that is really good! How about if everyone posts at least one recipe sometime in the next couple days. I will start a "favorite recipe" thread! dianem1 09-09-2002, 12:08 PM Hi Everyone: I have not have had use of my computer, my husband has been upgraded it. Marcie I am glad you had a great week. How are you doing with all the variety? I did not do well over the weekend, we went to see the Lion King yesterday it was actually pretty good, my sister bought me the ticket for my birthday, and the only complaint was she got the tickets to close to the stage. Then of course we went out to eat and it was a family style type dining. I could have make better choices like not having the pasta and a drink but I did not. I don't go to the city that often so I guess I could say I had a good time and did not worry about the food to much. Welcome ER130 good luck with the program. Have a great day all Diane 04/06/01 201 09/07/02 152.6 goal 135 Jibbelle 09-09-2002, 12:14 PM The choices are wonderful Diane. I can eat such a variety of food now! The only draw back is that you could eat a Big Mac and fries and nothing else all day if you want. Thankfully LAWL taught me how to make nutritious choices, so I am eating a lot of the same things I did before, but adding in new things, like bananas and more whole grain foods. I am really enjoying it. Kitkat3NY 09-09-2002, 01:42 PM Good Morning, Back from weighin and i'm down 1.6# Thank God! My mini goal is 159# then i'll just keep creating small goals. Diane happy b-day! Springmanor- congrats on the weightloss, wow 93#, You Go Girl!lol er130- WELCOME and congrats on the weightloss! GringaGordita- I have the LAWL cookbook and never used it once. I think it cost about $28. or so. I did flip through it and the receipes seem pretty decent, not all that flavorful though. Jibbelle- I am so happy for you! Congrats on that 3# gone! Woohoo! Kathy 184/162.8/120 or 130 whatever looks best kmabry1234 09-09-2002, 09:59 PM Welcome er. I hope you enjoy LAWL. I did. I just wish that I could afford it again. My weightloss hassn't been that good. I have been fugging a little to much here lately. I am trying hard to get back op but am finding it hard. I have a membership to 24 hour fitness but don;t have any ambition to go anymore:( I am really getting depressed. Please tell me what I need to do to get back on track. GringaGordita 09-10-2002, 05:05 PM hi guys. just wanted to check in...it's been a week since i started LAWL, and so far, so good. i go in for a weigh in today, so i don't know what my current weight is. it's been my TOM, so it may be off anyway. thanks for the fyi on the cookbook. welcome er130, glad to see another newbie. i haven't had too much trouble with the food. i grill everything on my george foreman, and i usually just use a little seasoning. some days i marinate my meat in low fat italian salad dressing before cooking, and that gives it a nice zing. hope all is well with everyone. i'll check in tomorrow with a new weigh in update. GringaGordita 09-10-2002, 05:06 PM Duh...i had a question i wanted to ask you guys? what do you think about the supplements offered at LAWL? i have my own calcium and multi-vitamin...but i was wondering about the fat blocker and other pills. would you recommend them? Jibbelle 09-10-2002, 05:32 PM I have tried the LA Plan with ALL the supplements and with none of them. I can not say I saw any difference. I will tell you (this is kind of gross) when I took the FB500 I always had to poo right after I ate. Sorry for being so graphic. It is very important for you to take a multivitamin and/or calcium while on the plan. It does not have to be the ones from the center though. Where are all those recipes we were supposed to post! Come on gals!!! kmabry1234 09-10-2002, 10:09 PM I took one of the ones that were suppose to boost your matabilism but all it did was make be hungrier. It also gave me my reflux back again. So I quit taking them. The sad thing is that they were so expensive and they wouldn't let me return them. I loved the program though Jibbelle 09-10-2002, 10:18 PM I bet that was the Tri Max. You also need to be careful that they do not sell you the TriMax Plus if you are on the pill. It will dramatically decrease the effectiveness. I got my refund in the mail today from LA for the bulk bars that I had left on account. I was afraid they would try and screw me, but they didnt. WOOHOO GringaGordita 09-11-2002, 12:39 PM hi guys. had a weigh in yesterday and i was down another 1.5 pounds. that makes nearly 6 pounds!!! i'm very excited. my biggest challenge has been eating all the food. woohoo, that's a lot of stuff. oh, thanks for the info about the supplements. i already take the calcium and multivitamin on my own. i'm probably going to pass on the supplements that LAWL sells. GringaGordita 09-12-2002, 01:13 PM where are you guys? i went for a morning weigh in today and was down 2.75 more pounds. that's a total of 8.5 for me. i'm so excited. i know part of the reason i was down is because i got weighed in the morning rather than night, but i'll take it. i have to say, i really love the people at my center. they are so supportive, nobody's tried to sell me anything. i really think i can do this. Jibbelle 09-12-2002, 01:27 PM You are doing great Gringa!!! KEEP IT UP! Some centers are much better than others, it sounds like you may have gotten lucky and got a good one! GringaGordita 09-12-2002, 01:36 PM I'm so glad. i have to admit i was a little worried that i might live near a bad center. i had read some things on some bulletin boards that worried me. so far, so good though. How is WW going? Jibbelle 09-12-2002, 03:08 PM It is going great! I can not wait for my week two weigh in Saturday. My scale says I am down one pound! GringaGordita 09-12-2002, 03:54 PM that's great! you are such an inspiration. keep it up! SpringManor 09-12-2002, 04:39 PM Gosh, Marcie, I wonder if I might need a change. I have been on LA for so long that I am just plain sick of it. It has been about a year now or so, maybe its time to try something else too. Jibbelle 09-12-2002, 05:14 PM I did LA for a year, and I really only lost for the first 7-8 months. After that, I was sooo sick of the eating the same thing that I cheated all the time. I completely lost my motivation. WW is working for me now because I have more choices and I dont need to cheat. It may not be for everyone, but if you think you need a change, it is worth checking out. Gringa- At this rate you will have to update your Halloween goal soon! Hey...if you keep losing this fast, you are going to catch me! I better get my tushy in gear! I need to come up with a new mini goal...not sure what yet though. er130 09-12-2002, 11:36 PM Hello everyone! I did so well for the first week then I was out for dinner the other night, etc. I was up one pound (still a total of 5 in the first week), but they told me at the center to stick to the unlimiteds the next two days and I showed see a difference. I hope so. It is so motivating to see that scale move. I have added exercise to my routine as well. I'm trying daily. We'll see if I make it. Anyone else up to taking a walking challenge. I'm thinking of not counting time, but maybe miles per week or just the fact that we did it!!:D Let me know if you are interested. Jibble- I will get your check to you soon. Please don't forget about me! xYTx 09-13-2002, 09:53 AM Erin - I really need a kick in the pants to get back into my exercising routine. Maybe a walking challenge is just what I need :) I do this run/walk combo... run 'til I have to walk... walk 'til I can run again... run some more... on a route that takes me 20-25 minutes. Lately, I haven't been sticking to my exercise because of a new job and school, but it's time to get back with the program!! Anyone else want to join up?? :) dianem1 09-13-2002, 10:05 AM Hi Everyone: Marcie I am glad you are re-motivated, I am feeling a bit jealous. I think you are tempting a couple of us to look for a change. Gringa I am glad you are enjoying the program great job. Erin I find that I don't do well when I eat out, even though I make good choices most of the time, I always find that I am up a little when I eat out. At our center the manager is trying to get a group together to do one of the groups walks for breast cancer I think. I weighed in the other day and I was up .4, I am tired of this up and down stuff so I went back to the gold plan, even though I really like the blue, I am finding after a day of being off program what I put on does not come off as fast with the blue plan. I probably need to make a change also, but I am trying to see what happens with the weeks I have left. Hey Kathy how are you doing? I got the new Cathe Dvd's the other day. I think I am going to enjoy the ab Hits. Have a great day everyone Diane 04/06/01 201 09/11/02 153.6 goal 135 Jibbelle 09-13-2002, 10:06 AM I need to exercise, but I just can not find the time! It also needs to be something I can do inside. I go to work when it is dark, and often get home when it is dark. SO....no exercise outside in the dark! Can anyone recommend a good tape (prefer DVD actually) for a beginner? Jibbelle 09-13-2002, 10:09 AM Diane- We were posting at the same time. I would finish up the time you have on LAWL, but I would really consider thinking about doing something different. I think your body is so accustomed to the plan, that it really isnt working anymore. How long have you been at your current weight, plus or minus 3 lbs? Have you seen the maintenance plan yet? dianem1 09-13-2002, 10:17 AM Hi Marcie: I think it has been about a month and half that I have been staying around the same. i have not seen under 150 since July I think. So I know I need a change but I think I am little afraid of it also. I know WW will be the plan I will do but a little bit afraid of how I will handle all of the variety. What level of exercise are you? Diane Jibbelle 09-13-2002, 10:22 AM Umm....err....no exercise? hehehe I know it is sooo bad! I have also had a total hip replacement, so my exercise needs to be relatively low impact, not a lot of jumping and running. Three years ago, I was walking a mile and biking for 40 minutes 5 days a week at the gym. But...things got crazy when I started traveling for work and I have not been since. dianem1 09-13-2002, 10:33 AM Marcie: My Father-in-law just had hip replacement, he is getting around much better he could hardly walk before he went in. I know denise Austin has a lot of low impact videos I am not sure if she is on dvd yet though. Do you have a treadmill, walking is some times the easiest to start with if you have not been exercising for a while. I think there is some walking videos out there also. Diane Jibbelle 09-13-2002, 11:02 AM I have head of some walking videos....maybe I will bowse Ebay this weekend and see what I can find. I had my replacement done in 99. I have a very rare degenerative joint disease that completely destroyed my hip. Thankfully it was isolated to that area. That is when I gained all this weight, I could barely walk. The surgery and recovery was great and I was back to 100% in no time. In order for the hip to last longer I need to get this weight off. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
