100 lb. Club - Get Me Out of the 230's Challenge.

I decided to start a CHALLENGE to get me out of the 230's. I get out for a few days and then I slide back into the the 230's. I have been struggling to get back on my calorie counting. This month has been pretty much wasted.
I was only on plan two days. I only exercised about 4 days too.

GW: 229

Oh oh! I weigh everyday (but Sunday is official and the only day I change my ticker) and today I was 239.4!! That's the first time I have seen a number under 240. I do not want to spend a lot of time in this decade because 230 (more like 229.9, lol) is going to be a big milestone for me and I plan to make my first thread in the "Mini-Goals" forum and will elaborate then. Sooo you are not alone - even though I JUST got here, I want out of the 230's ASAP!!! :D

Vicki, best of luck getting out of the 230's!! You can do it!!

I'll be back in the 230s on Saturday when I adjust my ticker to go with my new (and I believe more accurate) scale, so I'm definitely up for a challenge to get back out!!

I'm in the doldrums at the moment. Truly "meh", and I too am determined to get through the 230s by the end of March. Hopefully this will help, and generate some good cheer.

Today I am 239.0 which is down .4 from yesterday.

I have the day off and was hoping to get some good exercise in, but I woke up with a horrible cold, can't breathe well, and wore myself out simply taking a bath.

I have little interest in food though so at least I'm certain I won't overeat!!

Ok, my scale adjustment to get to my new scale weight is done and 3.4 lbs to get back out of the 220s. I CAN do this!!

Crap! I weighed in a little over 240 today!

I did not go over calories yesterday but didn't work out because I was too sick. I still have a horrible cold and look more puffy than usual. Can a cold cause extra water weight or something?

OH I am so happy to see this! i just got into the 230's, I'm at 238.8 officially and I want out for sure! I have a yearly doc appointment on the 18th and I'd love to be REAL close to the 220's by then if not out, but I'd still be happy to get out of them for April.

Weighed in this morning, and I was 229.6, first time seeing the 20's. I couldn't believe a 3.8 lb loss this week (I seriously was not expecting that). I am so happy!! Hopefully the 20's stay! *fingers crossed* Good luck to all! See you in the "Get Me Out of the 220's Challenge". ;)

I'm stuck in the 230s, too. :( I've been in the low 230s for about 6 weeks... I know I could tweak my plan a bit, adjust my food and calories, do more exercise... but I've chosen to sit here and just accept it for awhile. Some things are changing in my life shortly (tomorrow) that will keep my mind totally off food for the foreseeable future.

Let's see how we go, shall we? :)

Today is my official weigh-in and it was 239.2 which is down 1.5 from last week.

Weigh in today was 237.4...not bad, not bad. I'm really looking to eke out another pound so I can reach my BMI<35 mini-goal.

Had a GREAT workout today, am pretty happy about it. Some solid upper-body work and a low-key hour on the exercise bike. I normally do a higher-intensity, shorter workout during the week so this is a nice change.

I really fluctuated this week... went from 238.8 on Wednesday last to 242 over the weekend! Yikes! I am going to assume the 238 was a fluke. Anyway, I was perfectly on plan yesterday and I am so dedicated to a whole month of perfection. This morning I was 239. I'll take it.

I am up like 1.8 pounds today... Silly body! I know there's no way it's real weight as I stayed within calories and got plenty of exercise yesterday. I am feeling constipated so that can't be helping. Oh well, I'm not discouraged by it one bit, we'll see what happens tomorrow! :)

I got to a point where I gave up on a goal weight and keeping a scale at home! Instead I just decided to stick with a program/exercise. I would get so depressed if I had gained with a scale at home. For example last night around 9pm I took my son to Waffle House. I ended up finishing part of his sausage and waffle. I'm swoleen today, am sure I'm retaining water! If I had a scale at home I'm sure I would see a gain and go totally off plan!:(
Ours is in front of everyone too. I don't mind that so much because people are busy shopping and checking out but I could do without my son announcing the reading. :lol:

I had 2 days of my weight being up, but I stayed focused and there was finally a loss today: 235.9!!!!

Tomorrow is my weekly weigh-in when I change my ticker, so I hope the loss sticks!!

Today the scales say 234.1 (down .9 from yesterday) which is a bit shocking because I thought I was actually pretty liberal with my eating yesterday... We love the Oscars at my house, and in the past we would have had a large pizza, popcorn with pour-over butter, and those big boxes of theater candy. Well, that was all out of the question, but in an attempt to feel normal (and because Sundays tend have the reigns a little looser) we had Hamburger Helper for lunch then during the Oscars we had a bag of popcorn and a few mini-M&M's.

So I actually expected to gain a little, at least in water weight. I'm guessing I will fluctuate back up a little in the middle of the week because that's how last week went, but as long as I stay in the game, I should come out at the end of the week with a success. :)

To everyone in the 230's, please keep posting!! You're motivating me and letting me know I'm not alone - so thank you!

I had a good day yesterday, lots of exercise and I didn't go over iin calories. I am sick again though! :( Last time it was a runny nose and scratchy throat. This time it's one of the worst sore throats I've ever had and lots of coughing up mucus. Yuck!

Hey Ladies, I just want to make an observation. I was just snooping on a "get me out of the 190's" thread in the 20-something forum. (Even though I'm not 20...shhhhhh) It was started back in November and it so amusing to look back at the women who wanted to get out of 190's, but looking at their tickers, they're now in the 160's, 170's and one is 150!!!

So I'm just saying...you will look back on this thread and amuse yourselves with how far you have come if you just keep going!

I hope someone else finds this as motivational as I did. :D I think threads like this are great. They just keep going and going...

I think it's fun and interesting that we have challenge threads for the last three decades in the 200s and one for those who are just getting started or who have a longer way to go. Without any organizational effort, we've tried to scoop and support people in all 100-club weight ranges. :)

I fluctuated back up to 235.5! Gah! lol. It really is the same story as last time - sick again, salty soup, constipated.

I need to work on regulating my digestive system, I'm only going to the bathroom every 3-4 days and the last few days get pretty uncomfortable. Should I try a fiber supplement or that Activia stuff? I just don't know anything about this kind of thing!

I think there are so many different thread and different people posting in the 100 lb club. It's a fantastic group and everyone is incredibly supportive, but it can also get a little overwhelming too.

So I'm loving these focused challenges where people can support a smaller group who are all in a similar place.

And I have to say that I'm seeing great progress in all of these threads, so yay for everyone!!!

Back to 234.1

TMI: I still haven't pooped! Ahh! I took my first Metamucil last night but it only resulted in some foul gas. I'm not too terribly uncomfortable right now, so I'm being patient. I haven't worked out this week because of my cold but it's finally down to a mild sore throat and cough, so I'm thinking I can breathe well enough to get back in it. Not looking to be a spectacular week as far as the numbers go, but at least my eating has been really good.

No, I am probably not getting enough water. I didn't know it affected the bowels, I need to work on that.

I did finally go to the bathroom and it was quite a relief. I'm still taking the fiber supplements, too soon to tell if they are helping regulate me.

As far as weight loss, this week has been throw-away! I've done well on my eating but being sick kept me lounging for several days. I worked out the last 2 days though, but when I weighed in Friday morning, I was only .2 lb below Sunday's weigh-in. With only one day left before my next Sunday weigh-in, I am far from optimistic about losing this week. I must keep looking forward though!!

I'm at 231.4 today. That is down, but all in all it was a pretty slow week weightwise. It works out; last week I had a whoosh.

Truthfully, I'm in a whiny, half-depressed, sulky, and generally petulant state of mind. Sigh. Is there any help out there...? I'm not usually like this, but I can't seem to shake it this week.

I weighed in officially yesterday and I am up 1.6. Boo Hiss I am going the wrong way out of the 230s. I don't think I was adding my points up right.

JustSharing~ your body needs water for cells to work properly. When your body doesn't have enough water it pulls it back out of you GI (gastrointestinal) tract mainly in the colon. So think about the fiber you are eating and then think of it being hard as a rock because your body has taken all the water back out. It is very difficult for your colon to work it through to get it out. It does a massaging motion to work it through the whole colon and then out of your body. Kind of like how a snake swallows or how food moves down your esophagus. So metamucil works to add bulk but you have to have water to make it moveable. If you go for a very long time you need to see a doctor.

Thanks, mmiller! I thought I would be there last week, but I think pre-TOM water weight is what is driving me crazy. Today the scale said 232 AGAIN. I really, really hope that if I keep on keeping on with my plan - I've been on plan every day - that TOM will pass and I'll have a whoosh.

I am pretty frustrated at the moment, though.

I'm really glad it's just now spring because fall and winter are not good for me when it comes to weight loss. I'm hoping I can stabilize my habits by the time cold weather rolls around again.

Today's weigh-in was 230.6 - whaaaattttt?! I don't know if it's real! I know my weight patterns and there's a chance this will fluctuate back up over the next few days, but it's still really motivating and I'd really like to keep it, lol.

I'd like to not weigh again until Sunday then see if I made it out of the 230's, but I don't know, I'm pretty obsessive about my daily weigh-in. :yes:

If I do meet my mini-goal early, maybe I'll even be able to lose a few extra pounds before my Anniversary get-away with the hubby. :cheers:

I had known there was no way I had really gained weight over the last week, so I stayed on plan, was very cautious with salt, drank lots of water... And finally the scale went back down and then some!! I weigh in on my Wii Fit, but I was so shocked I got out the digital scales as well and they said the EXACT same thing, so I have no choice but to believe it, lol.

Thanks to everyone in this thread for what was pretty much the best support I've had so far. You're all awesome, and those who haven't got out of the 230's yet, keep it up, because I'm proof you can and you will!! :hug:

I find weighing in everyday to be very helpful. It gets me used to the normal fluctuations in the weight of my body (for example, I'm up a pund today from yesterday, but I ate too much sodium yesterday. Because I weigh everyday, I know that when I eat too much salt, I'm going to go up a pound or two or three (or more!) and I'm not discourage by the number, because I know it will be back down with a coulple of days of watchingmy sodium and water intake.) You just have to be able to let go of seeing a lower number every time you weigh (which is likely to happen if you weigh once a week or once a month and are eating on plan). I go up and down day to day, but my weight chart shows an overall downward trend.

I hear ya girl, I started at 249 and lost about 19 pounds pretty quickly.. and for the last 2 weeks I have been stuck at 230. Finally down to 227 but that's only after I added extra laps on the walking trail and cut out some things from my diet. My trainer tells me when I get stuck to keep a food diary for a week and figure out what is adding up the most. Hope this helps :)

Haven't check in for awhile. Work has been crazy and I got some freaky virus that had me down and out over Easter. Feeling human again but just barely. Anyhoo, my official WW weigh in was Saturday (yes, I went in sick because I had to claim that "sickness" loss!) was 229.0! I waited to make sure it would stick once I was eating again and it has so I guess I'm outta here, too!

Hey, so very belatedly, I want to join this challenge. I've been in the 230s basically since um... September (so for like 7mths! And I REFUSE to be in the same weight range anymore).

A couple of weeks ago I made it to 228.5 (an adult all-time low for me) mostly bcos I was stressed, ill, and moving a lot and barely eating, now I'm back to normal and am about 234 and I'm determined to make it back to the 220s and beyond.

So here goes:

SW: 235
GW: 229

Time Frame: May 13. 6lbs in 4 weeks, I should be able to do that, no? C'mon Self!

I'm torn about whether or not to weigh everyday. I'm thinking of giving it a go in May. We'll see. For now though, I'll take the 1.5lbs loss and actually work hard in the upcoming week. I'll weigh again maybe Sunday or Monday.

I cheated today and checked the scale which was probably a bad idea bcos I felt bloated and heavy and pre-TOM-y and what did the scale show? A bloated and heavy and pre-TOM-y: 235. Arggghhhhhhhh. I'm so sick of this!

I think I hurt my toe from landing awkwardly doing 30DS but I don't think it hurts enough for to rest it and I soooooooooooo want to be out of the 230s so 30DS and possibly yoga b4 bed for me tonight.

I started my journey around the first of the year and wether I had started or not it would still be May now. I guess what I am saying is that my weight loss has been really slow but it is at least moving in the right direction. Keep moving in the right direction and it all adds up.

Can I join? I have been in the 230's for 3+ weeks now. I am hoping to be in the 220's by Memorial Day. I was 231.5 on Saturday, today 232.8. I didn't go over my calories this weekend ~ actually had a pretty substantial calorie deficit both Saturday and Sunday ~ but I had more carbs than I usually do and I did not drink near enough water. I can tell I am retaining some fluid because my fingers are puffy. Hopefully a day or two of lots and lots of water will push me into the 220s.

Congrats to all those that have made in out of the 230's already . . .

welp a week later i am still 235 :( i should have been ... again at my goal 233 on this weigh in. UGH! I need to see some improvement to keep going. this is like a 3 week plateau. *sigh* I also have had diareah these entire 3 weeks so wtf?? i hate my body! I did do a minor binge a few days ago and i did gain like 3 pounds but am back on plan. It was one of those i won't miss out on this food b/c it's fairly rare. but still i am running to the bathroom after nearly every meal and I have no idea why and it's not even affecting my weight.
