Its not the small serving of pasta...its the evil carb cravings that lead to all the carbage that we eat AFTER that small innocent (not!) serving of pasta.

For some people this advice works. For others, it doesn't.

I don't get binge cravings from whole grains, I get them from refined ones every time.

We're all different...articles like this try to encourage exploring different options, but tend to do so in a way that implies other options are wrong. No approach is wrong...the "right" option is the one that works to keep your cravings and plan under control. For some people, that's cutting all grains and sticking to veggie carbs. For others, it's cutting refined grains and getting carbs from whole grains, fruits, and veggies.

We are all experiments of one! All results may vary.

Yes! That is exactly how I am feeling right now.
I would in no way, shape or form be satisfied with 1 cup of pasta. I like it too much and I burn through it too quickly to be able to stop there. I will have 2 bowls of it and be hungry again before bedtime. And if I were confused and wondering why my weight keeps going up even though I am eating pasta every night, I would think there was something wrong with me because none of the "experts" are offering any alternative suggestions right now.

I agree! You know, eating 1/4 c. of pasta never made anyone fat -- it's the fact that pasta breeds the desire for MORE PASTA that gets people. Anything that makes you want more and more, without ever really satisfying you, is basically poisonous to the metabolism. The question is "why put yourself through that?"

But that article reads like something thrown together last minute just to meet some deadline. Not much science, lots of popular knowledge. Certainly nothing everyone didn't already know.

And the "remember Dr. Robert Atkins?" line was uncalled for -- except as a buzzword for the search engines.

Ah! People!
