Feral- What would we do without you :)

Jenny/Stella-I also <3 Vodka... and when I drink I think I'm a bartender and create some fabulous combos :)

Jenny- I calorie count and I use Sparkpeople.com... it keeps track of everything and gives you recomendations for the amount of calories you should eat everyday... I like it because it has calorie counts on everything so its easy for me to add every thing up everyday... I also keep try of my exercise on there

I've studies for six hours today...my brain hurts

Nah, I have to give credit to Haley for starting the new thread. She was kind enough to point out it was closed because we've been running our mouths all week!

But then I look like a jack a** for not starting a new one lol

I was trying to figure out why I couldn't respond...

Jenny - I try to NOT do that, but when it happens I get alcoholic bulimia. I say that not meaning the actual eating disorder (or am I making fun of it) but if I feel like I'm too drunk and I still have alcohol in my stomach, I have to make it go away. And then I mainline water... I really don't get hungover from vodka, though. Maybe its because I'm always careful to drink a lot of water and eat something before sleep.

As for calorie counting, I try to have my day planned - I prefer to eat more calories mid-day than in the morning or at night, so I just work around that. When I buy/prepare food, I'm very mindful of the calories and think "okay where would I put this in my day."

Sorry guys, I should've mentioned that when I closed it. Somewhere in the near future you're going to have to do daily threads! Keep it up :)

LOL...Stella I'm the same way, but I stayed at the BF's last night and thought it'd be really gross if I made myself purge lol!! I drink vodka and water, so I dont usually get hungover...but BAM - I did today!!

Sparkppl is good, I use it for everything else so I could definitly start, I just find it hard because its american stats/servings compared to Canada's way of measuring and weighing, oz vs grams, etc. I'll look into it. Or, I was thinking if I'm not around a computer I could just have some paper and write down my daily calories and subtract as the day goes?

casey87
02-21-2010, 10:16 PM
Ohh Vodka. Can we count it as drinking water since it's clear and not carbonated? :)

Jenny - I bought a super cute notebook for counting calories. It's easier for me than doing it online, because I always have it with me and don't have to input any foods. If you get a notebook, make sure it's long. I had a short one and couldn't fit everything I ate in a day on a single page.

stellarosa27
02-21-2010, 10:17 PM
Jenny - before I got my iPhone I carried around a notebook. But now I have an app that I can plug stuff in, and then record it in FitDay later if I'm not at my computer all day.

Casey - I WISH.

Sam- I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I hope everything works out for the best :)

Haley- Thanks for the website.

I had the will power to not snatch the Cadbury Eggs the other day, but my anxiety is driving me up the wall. What to do what to do........

JennyG
02-21-2010, 10:25 PM
Yeah, I like to notebook idea too, but I think I'll use sparkppl for the first week or so just to get an idea of how many calories are in my most eaten foods, like certain salads I have and whatnot. I'm reaching this goal once and for all!! PS - I'm addicted to u ladies, ya's are all so great! Thanks.

And Vodka equalling Water...I freaking love that idea!! haha

Sam - So sorry to hear about your grandmother but keep your thoughts positive. Sometimes, these things can't be helped and it's upsetting but food probably isn't the best way to deal with it since you'll end up feeling worse later (what Feral said). I wish your grandma the best.

Brain fart...

Haley - Are you trying to hook me up with your brother? *nudge nudge* Haha. I'm kidding. I'm just uber into films and sometimes snobby about it though I try not to be.

Feral - I do love Eternal Sunshine and all things Hitchcock, Coppola, Gilliam, and Danny Boyle. And foreign films. Hollywood is just too predictable sometimes. When I was doing my film minor, I think I watched over 300 movies in a year. It was crazy. But living in LA = free premieres and sneak peeks and free on campus screenings so it was free and awesome.

Jenny - Find out your daily intake (http://halfofjess.blogspot.com/2010/02/tip-2-calculating-your-daily-caloric.html) and then start counting calories. That equation actually works brilliantly for non-empirical measurements.

Stella - I can't fathom how you eat 1200 a day. That's pretty impressive.

What kind of vodka do you ladies drink? I love me some Goose or Absolut. That Popov stuff, ugh.

I love my Grey Goose too! But my go-to vodka is Polar Ice, starting drinking it in High school and got hooked ... most ppl I know think its gross lol. mmmmmm!! I love white russians too, their my all time fav!
Thanks Jess!!
I'm off to bed, 7am comes way toooooo early!
I need a facking Vacay - seriousally considering taking some time for just myself and getting away...not sure where, but somewheres! lol.

Jess- if the brother wasn't engaged you could totally date him ...he is a movie snob...he judges everything thats why whenever I'm seeing a movie I remind him not to ruin it for me :)... I tell him that he hates everything

I love flavored vodkas...omg and firefly (sweet tea flavored vodka) mixed with lemonade is such an amazing thing... Thank you to the south for such an amazing invention

Jenny- I also love her blog :) it makes me want to eat my computer

Good night ladies...Have a wonderful Monday morning!

There is a bar in downtown Minneapolis that serves an AMAZING Grey Goose drink called Epiphany. It is: Grey Goose La Poir, St. Germaine elderflower liqueur, Veuve Clicquot champagne and topped with a purple edible flower. It's incredible! It's $14 a glass though, yikes!

stellarosa27
02-21-2010, 10:55 PM
Jess - I aim for 1200...I usually wind up somewhere between 1200 and 1350 - its all hunger dependent. Today I think I hit 1400, but I allowed for it because my body needed to refuel and fix the damage that I've done.

Jenny - I like Grey Goose, probably my favorite, and Stoli is a close second. I really can't stand Ketel One and Smirnoff, and I'll drink Absolut if I must.

Casey - The app is called the daily count. Its really just a recording tool, it doesn't have nutrition info (but there are apps for that, or you could just google). You can record your intake and exercise on this app. Its pretty useful, it just doesn't store beyond one day - you reset at the beginning of each day. You can email your food/exercise to yourself, though.

Ugh. I have to weigh myself tomorrow and then off to Orlando. TOM is also coming tomorrow. I was at 180.2 on Saturday, and I'm hoping I stayed there with all of the eating and drinking I did. I also didn't drink as much water as I should have today (this is what happens when you sleep through the day).

I will eat lots of veggies and good, fresh stuff while in Orlando. This is a must. I like warm weather climates, the food is always lighter. I'm also going to work out. I get in tomorrow at about 5, so I'm hoping to get to go to the gym there before dinner. I hate working out after I eat.

I'll be on here sporadically. :)

oh vodka. so good. though Jack and Jose are destined to be with me until the end of time. I have switched over to vodka, club soda, and a splash of cranberry for the bar scene. i rarely see the side effects on the scale the next day.

jenny - i too have a notebook for counting calories. i dont find it time consuming at all. Knowledge is power. and it i am craving something, i will just do a little research to find a healthier way to prepare it

stella - have fun in orlando. i hope to get there one year for the disney food/restaurant showcase. I am just a big foodie trying to lose weight.

i dont want to go to sleep because that means that i have to wake up and go to work tomorrow. This week is going to be super stressful. New job hunting, silent auction this weekend, working out, battling a cold. Its definitely going to be one of those "when life hands you lemons, you throw them at the first person who pisses you off" type of weeks.

Back in the 170's :) :)

179.8 - I will take it! I opted to have some oatmeal with freeze dried strawberries for breakfast (instead of DnD /pats self on back) and I'm taking the rest of the strawberries with me for a snack - one whole bag is 120 calories. I heart freeze dried fruit :)

I need to get my chubby butt up and shower so I can get this show on the road. I'm feeling a lot more positive about that now. Woo hoo.

Have a fabulous week, ladies :)

Good Morning Loves!

All of this talk about ALCOHOL!!! LOL I like the Firefly sweet tea vodka. Mix it half an half with sweet tea and it's a dangerous combo! I used to be a big Cuervo fan... then I switched over to jager.... and now I would say if I had to pick its Gingerale and Bourbon or Gingerale and Captain.

I'm back down this morning to 193.5 (was up 2 lbs yesterday... thank you bad choices the day before!). TOM should start any day so I'm going to take that as my official weigh for the week. WOOHOO. So close to 15 lbs lost... which made me realize I'm 1/4 of the way through the journey. That's exciting.

It's supposed to rain today. BOO! The weather was SOOOOOOO nice yesterday.

You know how I know it's Monday? Because my coworkers are already on my last freakin nerve.

EDIT: Stella - CONGRATS!!!!! *high five*

Stella - Mmmm that sounds delicious! Maybe I'll have oatmeal when I get back from spinning. I've learned NOT to eat my full breakfast before going to class lol, just a yogurt.

I am up. I am pumped to be back on track. I am going to spinning class a day early (and starting the week off right!). Absolutely NO cheats this week - 100% on plan! Keep me in line, ladies! :)

I've decided not to go to the campus to hangout with my friends as much this week so that I can work on my two final papers and still get done the rest of my normal classwork. That leaves me time to allot myself my mandatory workout - I think that's why I slipped into non-working out habits, I stopped making them mandatory. 150s I shall see you again! Soon!

Good morning ladies! Today, I've decided I'm going to whip out my food journal again. I know that I can't make a commitment to exercise daily -- I just know that I can't stay on track with that, but I have previously been successful with a diet log. Counting calories is pretty easy if I just do it. I hate exercise. Here goes!

Mary -- do you enjoy spin class? I've heard such good things about that. There is a class that some girlfriends go to, but it's usually a late night class and I don't have a membership to the Y, so I would have to use their guest pass.

I am up. I am pumped to be back on track.

This is our week, Mary!!!! Just remind me when I get frustrated that the work I do THIS week, will pay off next week when TOM is over. :)

I'm about to have my yogurt (breakfast) for the morning. I have such a hard time eating first thing in the morning, but I'm still eating in the morning so I think that's important.

Do you guys ever feel a super goofy mood coming on? I call it "having my button stuck."

It's gonna happen, I feel it creeping up. Good way to start a Monday off though. Now that I'm done being grumpy with coworkers.

Stella. I certainly wish I was going to Florida...ughk the weather here is so cold and I'm in that winter slump! I need a serious Vacay!!

Jess, thanks for the calorie link on your blog... It was easy for me to do as you and I are the same age and height! Im going to stick to about 1300-1500 a day depending on my exercise and whatnot. Yay, looking forward to this.

Cheers to another great week!

Congrats Feral on 193.5!! yay!!

I had one of those last night.. my DH kept asking me what the deal was. :dizzy: On our anniversary trip I ate WAY too much and lots of sugar so I think that is what the deal was.

Starting back up today though. Its a new week! We can do it!

Hey ladies,

I was MIA last week. It was reading week and I just went completely lazy. All I did was study and watch TV. I did manage to loose a pound which was awesome. I had a totally NSV this morning. I have a jacket that I just love, but haven't worn it in forever because the buttons pulled. I put it on this morning, and it fit perfectly! I also managed to avoid homemade chocolate cake and homemade peanut butter chocolate chunk ice cream at a bday party I went to on saturday. So over all a good week.

Stella, I'm so jealous. I need a vacation! Especially somewhere warm. I just keep counting down the days/months until San Francisco. It's not until July, so I've got a while.....

Feral, I get giddy moods, which I can totally feel coming on. I love them, they make me feel like a kid again! Congrats on 193.5!!!!!

LuckyJules, one step at at time. Make one commitment and then once you have that down pat you can focus on adding on the exercise!

Mary, I'm fascinated by spin class, I watch them at the gym, but I have such terrible knees and biking really causes them to flare up so I'm terrified to try a spin class......

So I'm not a vodka fan, I'm a rum drinker, but this tea flavoured vodka sounds interesting. However, I don't think it's available in Canada. I'll have to pick up a bottle or two when I'm in San Francisco!

Feral
02-22-2010, 11:45 AM
Shan - CONGRATS on your loss this week as well. :) Big ups on skipping on the cake and ice cream. Made your jacket fitting this morning that much better, didn't it?

Someone gave me a kitkat today. Those are one of my FAVORITE candies. I used to go by the king size bar and a dr. pepper. It's not really taunting me which is good (we'll see this afternoon... I may have to toss it. The only reason I kept it is because I have this small candy jar on my desk so other people can help themselves. People give me candy and I "recycle" it.)

The boards are quiet today and none of my friends are on G-chat.

BTW - my button getting stuck didn't happen. Stupid coworkers. LOL

Firefly(sweet tea vodka) seriously is amazing and it makes you wasted because you can mix it half and half with things like lemonade which I always do :)...

215 exactly today!!! ugh and TOM started today and I'm hating life... I never ever ever had cramps until I started working out... I thought the opposite was supposed to be true

Stella- theres a place in Annapolis that calls them a drunken golfer :) Have a fun and safe trip to Florida...I'll be here in MD freezing

Feral- I get in moods like that as well... they are my favorite

Mary- Good for you... thats how I think of my workouts...like a job or a class...its a must :)

Shan- Glad to have you back :)

I'm off to eat lunch and study my life away yet again today

Feral
02-22-2010, 12:01 PM
Haley have you tried one of those heating pads that sticks to you and then you throw it away? I've found on days that I was miserable putting that on my tummy (if bloated) or back (if lower back cramps were miserable) really helps.

You can actually get them really cheap at the dollar store.

Jules - I ADORE spinning, it's everything you need from a workout - interval training, cardio, strength training - it's got it all! The only thing is, when you're doing it you feel like you're going to die (which gets better in time, as you become more advanced), but you feel AWESOME after! I highly recommend it!

Feral - HIGH FIVE! We've so GOT this this week! My TOM is starting on Thursday and I'm hoping that I'm retaining water right now because there's no way I could've spiked another two pounds in one day. And don't touch that KitKat :P I'LL KNOW IF YOU DO!!!! ;)

ShortandFluffy - It's definitely a new week! Yay for getting back on track!

Shantroy - I have pretty bad joints from getting bit by a deer tick when I was little :C I say you should go for it, and work at your own pace to see how far you can go before it starts to bother you. I think isolations would be your only problem. Otherwise, I think you should be ok! Omg I love rum too. Vodka messes me up if I have too much, but rum I can go all night for lol! I loooove it :D My favorite used to be Black Seal and Captain Morgan, but recently I've found I really like Sailor Jerry :D

Haley - I like to mix Arizona Green Tea (the diet one, no calories - or I make my own) with rum - soooo good <3 I do more of a 60/40 mix though - I like my drinks STRONG haha

I really want to ignore my classwork today, but I have to get it done :C I was so inspired by the octopus at the museum yesterday that I've been immersing myself in sketching them and I've started to vector one in Adobe Illustrator to add to my portfolio. I think I'm obsessed! Lol

I also am taking control of my laundry today, since I'll be home!!!!

I have a stupid meeting to go to in 30 min. Hopefully it won't take forever because sometimes it runs over.

However, I have awesome things to daydream about because I will be going to Charlotte in 2 weeks and staying here: http://www.blakehotelnc.com/ .

That place is effin rad looking. Hooray for weekends away! Hooray for nice hotels (which I rarely stay at).

Mary - the kit kat can't taunt me if I'm not here to watch it. :)

so eating curry chicken two days in a row is probably a bad idea.. just saying

Feral- OMG I love the big kitkats... they is something special about them...

Mary- I like my drinks strong as well... everyone always complains... I have one friend who complains when a bartender makes her drinks strong... I'm like seriously you should be happy... My friend went on a trip because shes a bio major and she caught octopi and stuff...she seriously had the best pictures of them... sooo very cool... I also saw a really cool octopus necklace on this girl and I wanted it soo bad

I got a pretty pink water bottle from walmart today for only 3 dollars :)...its sad when you get so excited about little things...

Haley - Lol, I just bought this really awesome octopus necklace on etsy last week, so I'm extra excited about it now :D Tell your friend to man up or learn to nurse her drink slowly LOL. I always roll my eyes when I have to make my friend her drinks - I seriously put less than a splash of alcohol in. I swear she doesn't actually get drunk, she just thinks she does. She doesn't actually like the taste of alcohol, so she always complains that her stomach just can't handle a normal drink. She refers to me as "The Tank" because I can polish off half of the large bottle of Black Seal by myself before I start to get really drunk.

So far so good for being on plan - and I'm making dinner tonight. :)

Haley... I love chicken curry but I can't seem to find an easy/good recipe, do you perhaps have one you'd like to share?

Ladies, day 1 of calorie counting is going really well. I decided I'm gonna zigzag a bit between 1400 and 1700. Which is fine but will probably stick closer to the 1500 range. I started tracking on sparkpeople, I really like. It even tracks my fitness...I wish I could have a bodybugg for just one day to see how many calories I really do burn at my workout class...The girls that have been going for like years esimate between 800 and 1200 cals a class..I do that 6 days a week, thats why I feel like if I eat 1700 cals, its not a huge deal. I should still lose. Thanks for all the help ladies on getting me started on calorie counting!

Guess what? Monday is almost over!!! haha...almost! blah - Monday's suck. I'm off work at 5, going to the gym, should be home by 7 - gonna eat and RELAX and love it! Talk to you all in a bit.

I'm excited to be home from work today, as I'm making my super awesome (not so sure they are super healthy) lime-chili chicken tacos. It's really just chicken in a slow cooker with chili powder and lime juice with some salsa mixed in at the last half hour. When they are done cookin', place some shredded bits of it on a tortilla and wrap it up! Of course, the add-ons are where a lot of the cals come from... like cheese, sour cream if you like it, etc. The whole house smells excellent for a day or two after I make them.

I like the slow cooker -- I need to research some new recipes. That's another project for me today, organizing my recipe/cook book shelf. It's a disaster. I bought some clear protecters for a 3-ring binder and am going to put it all together neatly. Should be a good thing to accomplish when finished.

Mary -- I may have to tag along to one of my girlfriends classes then. I like the rewarding feeling that you described. Although I hate exercise, it may be something totally different that my body loves. I'll keep you posted on that. :)

Haley -- I always get super excited over little purchases that are either on sale or clearance, or you find out later at the checkout that they are an even better deal than thought. Pretty much everything I needed at Target today was on sale -- so that made me happy! Yay for sale stuff!

LuckyJules, I spent my reading week organizing my recipes. I'm addicted to the magazine cookbooks you get at the grocery store. I had tons!!!!! So over the break I went through each book with an exacto knife and cut out the recipes I wanted put them in sheet protectors and into a binder. I had over 400!!!! Not to mention all my actual cookbooks.

I looove my slow cooker! I use it 3 or 4 times a week. It's just so awesome to come home from school and bam dinner is done. On Sunday's I either do a roast chicken in the crock pot or a beef roast. I use the meat for my lunches all week. It's awesome! If your looking for some good recipes, google "a year of slow cooking" and there's an awesome blog, where a woman made a vow to use her crock pot every day for a year. She's got good reviews, lots of pictures and everything on there is gluten free as well. I highly recommend it. As well recipezaar.com has some good crock pot recipes. That's where I get most of my recipes from.

I mainly lurk around and read posts, but I thought an experience I had this weekend was strange enough to post. :P My second job is supervising school property when used by other groups. Which is where this takes place.

So I was working the gym on Saturday, which was parks and recreation basketball. I spent the first hour playing on my DS. After that first game a women I do not know at all (she might have seen me the previous week) comes up to me, mentions how it looks like I have lost quite a bit of weight. I give my normal “slowly but surely” line, which seems more accurate nowadays, darn plateaus. She says it looks like it’s about time I got a newer(smaller) pair of pants. (I was in my workout sweats). She mentioned that she had a pair that had only been worn once in my car and I could have them if I wanted them. I didn’t want to be rude so I said sure. I figured if nothing else I could toss them after she left. So she comes back 5 – 10 minutes later with a kitchen trash bag with the sweat pants inside. (also a pair of boxer briefs, I think those are going in the garbage) Then she tells me that inside the bag with the sweats is a check so I can get some shirts as well. After she is gone I open up the bag, there is a $50 check written out to Fred Meyer with the clothes. Complete Stranger. :P

josten -- that's a cool story! Keep your eye out for that woman again, and I'd keep a thank you card handy for when you do see her next. Just a simple thank you card would be very thoughtful imho. That's awesome though!

Unrelated: I've decided to not return my stupid easy tone shoes for the pink ones, and just wear the plain white ones. It's too much of a hassle to get back to the mall and exchange them. So I've been wearing them around the house today, and I can't tell if it's my mind yet or if I'm actually feeling it in my legs. Hrm... more to come later.

I dad make sure to take notes in the "oh boys" thread though. (kidding)

And before I spend the check (I haven't had time yet) I am going to write down the address on it so I can send a thank you card most definitively.

Feral, I'm loving it! That's what I want to do to my hair!!! But the bf's been making comments about how everytime I get my hair cut it gets shorter. I like my hair both long and short, so it's not a big deal to me either way, but I'm itching for a change. I'd love to go pixie short when I'm at my goal, to highlight my cheek bones, but I think I may wind up single if I do that! :P

Josten, weird, weird weird! But hey it's free money! Go splurge on some nice clothes! And good for you on the thank-you note. Not recieving thank-you notes is my pet peeve! I'm old fashioned it that regards. Too many people in our generation don't bother with them and it drives me insane. *Rant over*

So after seeing the wicked homemade ice cream at the bday party this weekend I have a burning desire to buy an ice cream maker! I don't need an ice cream maker, I'm not even a huge ice cream fan, but I WANT ONE DAMN IT!!!! Stupid kitchen gadget addiction.....

Dammit,Torrid! *shakes fist* I rarely go on and buy anything from there because a) I don't like it or b) I have to TRY on pants, can't buy them online.

I went to look at their tops today. I walked away with http://www.torrid.com/torrid/store/product.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302036094&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442222948&bmUID=1266882529402

Couldn't help myself.

No more online shopping for a LONG while!!!!

In other news...

Thank you for the compliments on my hair! :)

Jules - keep us posted on the shoes. I'm curious.

Shan - I've had my hair long and super short. I find this length is still girly, but it doesn't take me forever to do something with it.

Taylor - CONGRATS!

I have the worst munchies tonight and couldn't figure out why... duh, TOM is coming. Silly Feral.

You can make ice cream with frozen bananas and then blend it! Tastes good.

Anyway...

Feral - LOVE THE HAIR. I want to get my hair cut short in a bit, probably before my birthday. I had it short all last year but it gets in the way when I work out so it's pony tail length at the moment.

Mary - Octopi are cool! If you like them, you should consider scuba diving. They're crazy. I've never gotten inked by an octopus and I don't intend to since it means you're scaring them but they really can fit into some tiny cracks! Eels are pretty awesome too. But I think my favorite ocean animal is a manta ray. Those are AMAZING. Oh man. I miss scuba diving :(

Jenny - You should zigzag your calories. My guy friend, who has like no body fat, does this thing called carb cycling, which I haven't tried, but it basically tricks your body into letting go of fat. Will look into it later and let you know. I think it's for when you hit plateaus though.

Josten - Weird but awesome story. I'm sure she was just trying to be nice and giving you words of encouragement. Plus free 50 bucks for clothes? Hit me up! And, that's sweet that a stranger would notice that you've lost a lot of weight and that your pants are too baggy. That means you're doing a great job! Keep it up.

Stella - Nice job for the week!

I had a loss of 1 this week, and I'm ok with it. Gonna see if I can do a 10 minute mile this week.

I busted out all my personal trainer manual stuff, gonna start studying for the test. I figure since I'm being a bum for a few months, might as well get another certification under my belt and hey, it might pay off in the future.

Shan-I see stuff in stores for kitchens all the time and I'm like oh I need that because its pink or I need that because its pretty... however I dont need any of those things because I already have them... I just want fun stuff... and an ice cream maker sounds fun :)

Taylor- YAY!

Jess, I hat bananas. Reminds me of that yucky "banana medicine" that I had to take as a kid. Can't remember what it was for, just that it was kept in the fridge a pale yellow, and kinda frothy from shaking it, and tasted like bad bananas. Mom kept telling me it was a banana milkshake, but she wasn't fooling me! I've never like banana's since!

Shan - Aw, that sucks. Hm, I'm sure there's a way. Oooo, Skinny Cow. My mom and I walked to the store today, well half way until she thought we were gonna get hit by a car and so we called my dad, but anyway, Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches are THE BOMB. Yumyumyum.

I'm just super bored with my look right now. But don't want to do anything till I'm closer to goal and probably after my friends wedding in July..... But a part of me likes my hair long too. I know Jules, itsn't it cute!?! It's only a couple of inches shorter than what I have now, which is collar bone length. My only fear is that I have super super fine strait hair and I don't know how it would be with all those layers. Not to mention that I royally SUCK at doing anything with my hair......

Something like this, would probably be best for my hair type, but it's not as cute:
http://www.latest-haircut-styles.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/short-hair-styling.jpg

Even something like this would probably be better, but again not as cute! I love the choppy layers of that first cut!

Jules, I'm partially to the second picture you posted. I like the darker colours. Something mysterious and sexy about it. So the darker one gets my vote!

Once I'm out of the overweight category, only 8 more pounds. I'm going to dye my hair dark like that. My hair's naturally dark, but I like the depth that low lights bring. Plus I need to do something to cover up all the grays I'm finding. I found 15 yesterday! I'm only 26!!!!! That shouldn't be happening to me!

Alright. So I love you all - that's my personals effort. But I did read through all of that and congrats to all of the losses :) (also yay vodka)

I am NOT here for vacation, btw. And if anyone wants to trade and come down here and run around like a mad woman for a few days, please, rescue me. Its actually kind of gross here. Overcast, humid and 64 (but not complaining about the temperature). My hair is nice and curly and for those of you who've seen pictures, I DON'T have curly hair.

Tomorrow shouldn't be too bad, but I have to do a presentation in front of like 150 people on Wednesday. And my Xanex wasn't ready at the pharmacy this morning. This means dark chocolate and working out.

I feel pretty good about my eating today - I had my oatmeal, then had a turkey sandwich (and garlic fries, so good) for lunch, and dinner was chicken, asparagus and mashed potatoes, but I didn't eat the chicken skin and didn't finish the potatoes. I also worked out for about 50 minutes - it was as long as I could manage with the humidity.

Shan a few hair cuts ago I took that picture of hayden with me to the salon... I have short hair and my hair has been most variations of the bob :)... I do like the first picture you posted though... I may be stealing it.... I never leave with the same haircut twice... I like to change it up but its always a variation of what I already have... I have incredibly thick hair and I was worried... I think that with thin hair you can play off the layers more as long as you use a good product

Stella- I'll do your presentation for you :)

Shan - funny story. I was talking to my co-worker today about my love for banana medicine, funny that you brought it up as well!

Jess - I heard of zig-zagging mainly because when I did WW, I hit a plateau and did "the wendie plan" which is basically zig zagging... anyhoo, whats carb cycling? Same deal basically? I'm interested.

I've been really stressed lately, focusing way to hard on my relationship with food than anything else and not losing any weight... so I'm going to focus on my exercise because I love it and its important and I'm going to my calorie counting, but I'm just gonna take my time and if I maintane for a while....big deal. I need to find a way to focus on my 90 lbs lost instead of the 20 I need to lose... does anyone know what I mean? its been really hard on me, as I am far too hard on myself (or so everyone says)...thats why I chose calorie counting, and for example I wanted frozen yogurt and I had it, because it fit within my calories! According to spark ppl I should be between 1350-1720.. that seems pretty good right?!

I'm getting my hair did when I hit 190... my hair is like Feral's now (PS - beautiful hair BTW) but I'm growing it longer and going for a change...I'm thinking chunky blonde front! hmmm....!!

shantroy
02-22-2010, 08:33 PM
Haley, I have lots of hair, but it's just super fine. No matter what I do with it, hot roller,s Velcro rollers, teasing, thickening sprays it always falls flat. My hair is the bane of my existence. Especially now that it's going gray LOL. It just doesn't want to do anything except lie flat and limp. The style that was the best for me was a chin length bob. It looked thick and shiny, but I want it to be a bit longer. A super short cut looked good too, but I hated the maintenance. I don't have the time or the money to get my hair cut every 4 weeks!

I love the first picture the most, but since I'm a total knob when it comes to styling my hair I think making that one look good will be impossible!

Hey ladies, I caught up on all the hair and booze but it's just too much information for my little brain to do personals right now. I'm watching the skating with one eye.

I have to choose between going to see my bf in Plattsburgh tomorrow night or being able to make it to Legislative Action Day in Montpelier on Wednesday. My boss wants me to go to Montpelier but he didn't have me set up any meetings so I'd pretty much just be standing around uselessly. hrm. :(

I made the most delicious dinner last night from random stuff I had lying around my kitchen: split pea soup (broth, peas, potatoes, onions, garlic, spices), cous cous, and organic wild salmon filets I had in the freezer that were only $2 a pop and which I sprinkled a little lemon pepper on and put in the foreman. It turned out really well :)

Feral- With you on the Monday/coworkers. I just stayed in my cubicle as much as I could...figured that would be best for everyone included lol. BTW KitKats yum, those are one of my favorites. Now, the question is, what did you do with the said kitkat? Love the new hair!

Mary- I want to try Spinning. But, I think I might die. Not only of embarrassment from being out of shape & not breathing but also it seems really intense. Are there different levels of intensity?

Josten- Kinda cool...check from a stranger w/a heart...

Haley- Don't be jealous...it has be raining in Florida all day today...flooding rain. I don't know if in Orlando, but i'm an hr. south of Orlando & I was stuck in it on my way home. @ least it wasn't cold rain I guess.

Shan- I like the 1st one.

So I feel like I have a ton of stuff to do & not enough time. My bf took me out to dinner tonight & I stayed on plan. That was REALLY HARD considering the menu lol! Tomorrow morning I go to the hospital for my pre-op & I also have WI. Then a nice 10hr. day @ work (sarcastic tone). Jenny - Yessss, come visit :) I like cooking for people. I made cottage cheese alfredo tonight. Win. Finally. And, don't focus too much on the scale right now. Your weight loss has to slow down sometimes, or else you'd just disappear! Carb cycling is for weight lifters, from what I understand. It's where you don't eat much carbs for a few days, then overdose, so you trick your body into creating this ridiculous metabolism. Will research more on it later and fill you in. Don't try it like that, just zigzag your caloric intake and you should be good. Oh yeah, do you lift?

Haley - Definitely let me know when you're in town. Me and Jazz Jess will come visit you and we can all go out.

Icon - CONGRATS!!!!

I hit the door running this morning. I walked in the building and literally had 10 kids in my office. Parent registering a new student.... all sorts of craziness right off the bat. Whew!

I tried on this pair of pants last night. My MOST FAVORITE pair... next to the jeans that have a HUGE rip in the butt from where they wore out and the pocket finally gave (I think I may try to have a tailor fix those because they were the best fitting pair of jeans EVER)... they say size 18, but I have other 18s that fit. They were from Target or some place... and they definitely run small. I knew they weren't going to fit... probably won't fit until I get into the 170s or so, but I put them on last night. They have those stupid sewn up pockets so of course they pulled like a son of a bleep and they won't button, but there is hope. :) I love those effin things. I think I may take some progess pics with those.

Thats it for now. Have a great say everyone!!!

Edit: To whomever asked about the Kit Kat. It's still sitting in my candy dish. I haven't touched it and don't plan on it. :) If it becomes tempting I'll trash it or I'll give it to someone.

Icon- it still counts! you rock :)

Karla- definitely try the spinning; like mary said, no one knows how much resistance you have on...just be careful when you move out to position three. And congrats on staying OP during a nice dinner out--that is tough!

Shan- my boy is so scatterbrained too. He was doing laundry so I asked him to throw in the dirty clothes on the floor of my closet, and instead he threw in the clean clothes in my hamper that I'd just washed but hadn't folded yet. Honest mistake, but grr.

I am going to keep updating this as I catch up with personals.

Jess7286- Nice work on the 10:20 mile :) Also, cottage cheese alfredo sounds yummy--I love making cheesy dishes substituting cottage cheese like lasagna and saag paneer. Recipe? I've been thinking about buying my own domain, but my html skills are very basic and I probably would never update the site.

starmac- that is frustrating but it'll be really satisfying to show her. I had an experience like that last July, getting my VO2 max tested and blowing the trainer out of the water.

Jazz- turbo kickboxing!! I really want to try that...I bet it would help me tone up a lot. Wherever I move to, I'm going to require that the gym I join has that class :)

Feral- I hate those pockets. I just tried on a pair of old pants I really liked but they still don't fit, and I'm not losing any more weight so there is really no hope. Oh well, not like I have a shortage of pants right now.

Mary- it is cold and wet up here too. It's about 35 which is unseasonably warm, but it's wet which makes it feel colder than it has been, with the added unpleasantness of rain ruining all the snow. I could survive 6 more weeks of winter if it was a perfect 32 and snowy everyday...please snow gods?

Stella- I read that 600 calories is actually a really good number for breakfast. I find that eating about that much keeps me nice and full for the rest of the day, and I nosh less. Also, you're in Florida. Sticky or not, I hate you! ;P

Haley- too bad about the training session...mine was ok but I didn't keep up with the routine she gave me :/

Shortandfluffy- Happy anniversary!

and last but not least...JennyG- Happy Tuesday to you too :)

Feral

Forest - the other pair of pants I had like that I actually went through with a seam ripper and undid the sewing of the pockets. It has REAL pockets so I don't know why they sew the damn things. It's dumb. The only down side to doing that is if theyre getting snug the pockets pull REALLY bad.

Question to the calorie counters - I've been dragging my feet on counting calories but I know it would really help me. I have to do my nutrition analysis on my diet and start logging everything I'm eating for at least 2 weeks anyway. The question IS....

Do you weigh/measure your food religiously?

JennyG
02-23-2010, 11:49 AM
wow! I wish I could personals like forestroad. I'm just on my quick lunch break, so later!

Jess - I always wanted to go to California..perhaps this is my time, lol, especially since I know there'll be a good meal waiting there for me!

Day 2 of calorie counting. love it!

Scale was up big time today...however TOM is on route so thats my excuse!(freaky huh, a few of us are on the same cycle, lol....too funny)

I'm gonna cook and bake for the rest of the week out of my hungry girl 200 under 200 cook book...because A) I love it B) It never fell under my plan before, but by counting calories I can cook and bake whatever I Want as long as it stays within my range, plus hungry girl is uber healthy!!! yay!

I took Thursday off and I'm taking a day to myself and I'm going to Halifax, NS (about 3.5 hours from PEI) and I'm going shopping for the day! Retail therapy I call it... I've been so stressed about that damn scale not moving that I think I just need a day to be alone and escape reality...really looking forward to it!

JennyG
02-23-2010, 11:52 AM
Feral: I do,I measure and weigh everything, and sometimes when I buy things that I'd eat right out of the box lol, like cereal, crackers, almonds, etc... I measure them into portion sizes right away and then its not as tempting... works for me! sounds silly, I know!

I know I just started calorie counting, but prior to that I followed many plans and always measured and weighed everything

Feral
02-23-2010, 11:53 AM
Jenny - I've had a lot of online retail therapy lately. NO MORE!!! [Although if I find the limited edition Alice in Wonderland Urban Decay shadowbox I'm totally getting it!]

Don't be discouraged... we're all in this together. You'll figure something out. :)

forestroad
02-23-2010, 12:36 PM
I'm on the retail therapy wagon too. I've replaced comfort eating with comfort shopping lol.

Feral- I don't measure/weigh religiously but if it's handy (like using a measuring cup to scoop out the cereal/pasta/sauce etc) I do. You could also try a site like figwee that is picture-based. I use fitday myself, but haven't been doing it as much recently. Trying out new things for maintenance and such, though I'd go back to it if I start gaining.

stellarosa27
02-23-2010, 12:45 PM
Feral - I don't weigh/measure EVERYTHING, but if I have a measuring cup, I use it. Also, I've gotten pretty good at judging it by eye.

Alright, so for lunch I only had a salad (yes, it had mozzarella) and a chicken breast and a very tiny canolli. I've been snacking on wasabi peas all morning. Yum.

And one of my co-workers was like hey, can we work out later? Uh YES. So win.

How's everyone's day going?

I've also been doing some retail therapy, its bad...

02-23-2010, 02:40 PM
So I'm getting ready to head out to my exam. I probably coulda studied more, but I just wasn't into it. I'm hoping I do well. It's only 55 multiple choice question so it shouldn't be too bad.

Be by later to do personals.

I want to buy lulu lemon pants and a new pair of running sneakers, thats my plan, and probably spend the check before I even recieve it lol. Do you guys have the lululemon brand in the U.S of A? I would imagine, seeing as you have everything else. I would like to just be able to go to the states to do my grocery shopping... cripes I had more fun in the grocery stores last year on my trip to Savannah than I did in the malls.... okay okay, it was 50/50 but still, that's quite funny!

forestroad
02-23-2010, 03:22 PM
Jenny- I got Lulus for my birthday...love them!! My dad does not understand a $98 pair of athletic pants but I wear them everywhere, so they have what Stacey and Clinton would term a "low cost per wear" lol

JennyG
02-23-2010, 03:25 PM
My BF got me a lululemon water bottle for Christmas, as we don't have a store here on PEI, so I'm going to Halifax on Thursday and really hoping to get a pair - hopefully!! Its expensive, but they are worth it.

Feral- Sephora has it :) lol contributing to your retail therapy...also saw a really cool alice in wonderland inspired necklace on etsy the otherday... ut oh

EDIT- its out of stock :(

Shan- good luck on your test

Forest- If I ate a 600 calorie breakfeast I wouldnt be able to eat again until dinner lol

I ate a cookie... ut oh...no biggie...how can you resist homemade chocolate chip cookies

Once I get off of work I'll hit up the gym and study some more..

So, highlights from the past 45 minutes.

A Canadian doc is presenting, he's said "aboot" about 5 times and I can't help myself from giggling. Then he puts up a map and goes "so this is Canada..."

I wasn't the only one who laughed at that.

Feral
02-23-2010, 04:55 PM
Haley - you had my heart racing for a while. Sephora and Ulta are both sold out (they sold out within 3 weeks apparently). I've called all the stores in the district and no one has it and they don't think they'll be getting anymore since it's limited edition. I also tried Amazon and I'm Urban Decay's fan on FB and they will be putting updates up as stores get them in stock. Apparently some department store in the UK will be getting them tomorrow, but they don't ship to the US. :( I looked on Ebay and some are selling for $100.

Stella - LMAO!

Forest - you look so cute in your Lulu's too! I swear those are raver-wear! ;)

I've officially welcomed myself to the next two weeks of ****.

I have an anthro test tomorrow that I'm still making note cards for (why am I on here instead of doing them? Good question.) I have another test on friday, and I work thursday night. I have another midterm next thursday. AHHH!!!

For my one class I need to catch up on reading, and I realized that I can actually tolerate reading and working out at the same time so at least midterms week won't take me off track!

I'm so ready for spring break already!! It starts March 5 for me.

HaleyisLove
02-23-2010, 07:48 PM
Sam- just dont go right to bed right after you eat :) I cant workout after I eat either... and honestly if I came home first I'd never leave again to go to the gym

Feral- That is ridiculous.... I saw it when it first came out and I was like eh I'm not paying that much for it...however I did contemplate buying this set of eyeliners for 200 and something odd dollars...they were in every color and each one is 18 dollars orginally at sephora so I felt justified..however reality hit and I realized it was a bad idea :)

Stella- I wanna be Canadian so I can say aboot

Jenny- that sucks about your shopping trip...why was it canceled?

You ladies have been very quiet this evening...its nice not having to read a million pages to catch up lol

I did an hour on the stairmaster..if that machine is right I burned over 1000 calories... I also feel like my body went through a meat grinder and my one finger is numb...hmm

I was a vegetarian for dinner... salad, rice, and a can of green beans...thats a very sad dinner....

Also, I hate 231.

Feral
02-23-2010, 08:24 PM
Jenny - sorry to hear about your shopping trip. :( That really sucks.

Sam - I can't come home and even sit down if I'm going to work out, I have to go straight into work out clothes and straight to work out. If I hit the couch or bed I'm toast.

Haley - I love Sephora and Urban Decay. I have several of their shadow boxes and justify it because it's lasted me FOREVER.

I made whole wheat pancakes and turkey bacon for dinner. The pancakes were pretty good. I've never had them before. They are SUPER filling. Definitely not something I could do very often though.

So I forgot to mention this earlier... kind of a NSV... I went shopping this weekend and I love sunglasses...big ones are my fav.. well I was trying on big sunglasses and my best friend was like "Haley I'm sorry but you're face is too skinny now to wear all those ridiculous and big pairs of sunglasses its just not going to work anymore" My face skinny? well I guess my little head is gonna have to get use to wearing littler sunglasses :)

Feral-so jealous of your pancakes and the fact that you had meat for dinner... I've been a vegetarian today... I didnt enjoy it :(

JennyG
02-23-2010, 08:41 PM
Haley - thats awesome!!!

The person I was catching the ride with had to back out, so no shopping trip for Jenny. blah! I just needed to get away, not sure what I'll do now.

day 2 of calorie counting - 2 thumbs up

Feral - mmmmmm.... pancakes! I heart pancakes, I make cottage cheese protien pancakes and they are so yummy!

Do you any of you ladies use Hungry Girl cookbooks?!?

LuckyJules
02-23-2010, 08:57 PM
JennyG -- I do! I love her books!!

btw, hello to all today. I've had sort of a rough evening... the dog I dog sat for the past couple of years died this afternoon. I work in the veterinary field, so I've been through this thousands of times, but it always sucks when you are close to the person(s) or pet(s). Just sucks.

I finished up my limey-chili-chickeny taco meat from yesterday... didn't eat the tortilla... got a little carried away with a Caribou drink today... however I did order a small.

I (started) to organize my recipes yesterday. I have a lot of them to go through.

Feral and the other makeup girlies -- Sephora and Ulta are awesome -- I also love Urban Decay and Smashbox -- probably my two favorite brands.

starmac13
02-23-2010, 09:24 PM
haley - that's the best kind of compliment. when you are just doing your normal routine and someone tells you that you can stop "hiding." I guess you are going to have to replenish you supply with smaller frames

feral - i weigh my food a majority of the time. It helps a lot seeing what 1 oz is of everything. If i am flying out the door though, i just toss it in and pad my calories to cover it

all this talk about shopping and makeup reminds me that I need to restock this weekend. thanks for the reminders ladies;)

jenny - those are good. i have made pancakes that way and with oatmeal, yogurt, and egg whites. very filling

shan - hope you test went well

I had that PT session today. It was great. I was learning a lot of new moves....until she told me that I was built like a BOY!. If i could have moved my legs and arms I would have pounced on her like a cheetah. *Note to anyone looking to become a trainer. NEVER tell a woman they are built like a boy. Yes I have muscle and can put it on quite easily, but now i just want to never pick up a free weight again.

Now i am just fighting back tears and trying to 3 of the 12 donuts downstairs. :(

Jenny - you misunderstand, I LOVE Canadians. LoveLoveLove.

I'm zapped. I'm sitting here going over my presentation for tomorrow, waiting for women's ice skating to start - I hate how they only show the Americans, I'd like to see EVERYONE thanks very much.

Dinner was salad, steak, asparagus and one of those little chocolate mousse dessert shots (free b/c of the group I'm with). I'm tired with stomach happiness, but I have to go over this or I won't be able to sleep tonight.
In a conference full of doctors you'd think SOMEONE would give me Xanex... sigh...

Star- SERIOUSLY!?! That is SOOOOO rude. She had to have known it was. I'd complain about her. (Actually I personally probably wouldn't- but I sure would want to!) That makes me feel so angry.

Feral- I WANT THE ALICE & WONDERLAND BOOK TOO!! I bought a lottery ticket tonight so if I win I will buy us each one :) haha.

Haley- WOW!! Great job (although I love big sunglasses too so if any are TOOOO big......haha)

I feel like I've missed so much. All I've been doing in my extra time is reading that book I've been obsessing over.

Also my gripe for the day- I'd like to say FU to the Baltimore Parking Maids for giving me a ticket for being in a residential parking zone when I was NOT. I tried to fight it and they said I didnt have proof, meanwhile penalties packed on and they made me pay them all!! Then I had to the pay the MVA an extra 30 to get the flag off my car. SO I ended up paying 192 for parking in the correct spot. ARGH!

As for the ticket - i feel like they hire the meanest people to do that job. no mercy for anyone. And what plan are you doing? i would go back through the pages, but its a lot of pages

Sorry I can't do personals tonight. I have so much to do tonight. I have surgery scheduled in the morning. Hopefully it will crush my cancer!!!! I am running around like a crazy woman cleaning b/c ya know everyone & their mother is going to come over & visit & the ocd will kick in that something is out of order. Let's just hope for some good pain meds & adios cancer. Btw, I told my bf that even if I cried & begged for a slurpee or any fast food while I am recovering from this surgery b/c "it will make me feel better"...he has permission to do whatever it takes including poking me in the eye, shanking, tape....I can be very persistant. Plus, my parentals will probably feel bad & go get what i'm asking for & I threatened them tonight with the same thing..also I said it will be a complete waste of time b/c it will get thrown in the trash. Alright ladies have a good day tomorrow. Don't know if i'll be conscious enough to chat it up....but keep it entertaining like always :)

p.s. keep your fingers crossed that the doctor's remove all of it & don't surprise me with any chemo. Thanks dolls!

02-23-2010, 10:49 PM
Star- I am the same way!! That's why I felt guilty for telling you to call in and complain because I probably wouldn't either. Haha. But still that is so rude. Just like I hate whenever I go get my eyebrows waxed and they ask me if I want my upper lip waxed. It makes me so paranoid and if I wanted my lip waxed I would have asked for it when I came in!! Haha. My diet I found out (thanks to Stella) is the paleo(Crap I dont remember but its listed at the CrossFit diet under that category) However I bought this book by a Dr. Mark Hyman called The UltraMind Solution. As soon as I finish the book (or at least get to the part that I have to follow) I am going to follow this book for 6 weeks. He basically believes that we can change our brains and bodies (and many diseases such as excema, depression, anxiety, etc) by changing how we eat. It's a really great concept and book so I'm giving it a try. The whole reason I gained weight is because I have had A-Topic dermatitis all my life and when I got a bad outbreak they loaded me up with steriods. It's all been downhill since then. I've had stomach problems, depression due to my weight.....so hopefully this will be the change that I need. It's really going to suck if it turns out I can't have some of these things but it'll be worth it in the end! :)
What diet are you doing!?

starmac13
02-23-2010, 11:08 PM
kelly - i have not heard of that one before. definitely keep us informed of how it goes. 6 weeks is a great amount of time to see how your body reacts to it. If I have to classify my diet, I guess it would be under calorie counting. I have tried almost every other diet under the sun. SB, Atkins, hollywood, lemonade (NEVER DO THIS ONE), etc. I cant eliminate a food group. So I just make different choices. i am a huge foodie that learned to cook without all the bells and whistles and keep flavor.

Karla - my thoughts and prayers are with you right now

Morning Ladies!!! (and Josten if he's lurking)

To catch up on a few things from last night:

Sunglasses - I love sunglasses but I have a HORRIBLE time keeping up with them. I can never find a pair dark enough. Although about a year and a half ago someone left a pair of REALLY SUPER dark sunglasses in the main office and never picked them up so I claimed them as mine at the end of the school year. I have never seen a darker pair before and I LOVE THEM. I was going to buy a pair of Ray Ban aviators but most of them were too big for my face (sat on my cheeks) and I just couldn't bring myself to pay $230 for a pair of glasses I wasn't in love with. They were cool though and I love polarized!

Cake baking/decorating - I make a MEAN cupcake. I think its the TLC that goes into it. If I had to pick a 2nd dream job (behind photographing bands on tour) it would be chef/pastry chef. I could see myself doing something like Ace of Cakes. Well, if I was a little more artistic (I'm cute font/doodling artistic not drawing/graphics artistic unfortunately) I could pull it off.

Jess - I didn't make the wheat pancakes from scratch although I'm sure there are recipes out there. I used a whole wheat pancake mix I got from the grocery store. I'll look up the name of it when I get home (you may have to remind me).

Kelly - hang in there girl. Like you said, give it a little time for your body to adjust. Also, if you haven't been eating many carbs and you start adding them back in, expect a little bit of a gain in order for your body to re-adjust. Just find something and stick with it and go from there. Don't get discouraged, you'll figure it out! :)

Star - I'm coming to eat food with you!!! nomnomnom! Those festivals sound incredible.

Air - I'm the same way too girl. I will crave it just because you said I couldn't have it. I hate that!!!! After a while you get over it though.

So this morning has already been good and very funny.

We had a fire drill at 7:50. That was fine, but it was COLD because they're calling for SNOW (again, really?). One kid decided he was going to try to slide down the railing of the stairs outside. I told him to stop (no more busted heads this week please) and the principal saw him and reemed him out. THEN after everyone was inside and the principal was standing in the hall the kid's mom shows up to bring him a notebook he forgot. That was classic... I heard the principal say "How convenient" and told the mom what happened. *giggles* The kid is a major a$$hole and thinks he's god's gift to our school and the soccer team. He's generally disrespectful in a smarta$$ way, but not funny smarta$$ so I'm glad he got it this morning.

Meredith (coworker/bff) called and told me Train is going to be doing a concert here on March 10th so we're going to that. Never seen them live and I love their old stuff and the new song "Hey Soul Sister" so I'm really excited. March is turning out to be a busy month (Hello March Madness).

So yeah, funny morning already. Today is gonna be GREAT!

Jess - Well I'm really hoping it's water retention. My hands look better today, but my rings are still snug when they're usually really loose. And I wish I'd done kickboxing yesterday :C I did NOTHING yesterday, seriously, absolutely nothing! I was just in a lazy mood when I woke up from the rain, and I knew it was going to happen, and I just couldn't break out of it! Today I thankfully have errands to run so I am going to go eat breakfast right now and go right downstairs to workout!

I would like to be some place tropical... and beachy.... where the beer flows and the sun shines EVERY day! So I can be a tan tropical hottie and learn to speak spanish. I think that's a pretty good goal in life. Maybe minus the beer because that just packs the weight on as I know all too well....

Feral - Lol, I can't wait until this summer, I'm going back to Mexico! I heart the Riviera Maya :3 But I couldn't live somewhere tropical year round. I actually love the winter.

NSV!!!! And it's SO brightened up my day! I went downstairs to work out and was about to put on BL Bootcamp, when I decided to try 30DS again - just for kicks. When I first started working out in the summer I tried 30DS and just about died before the workout was even halfway over. And that was with the mostly modified moves. Today, I pushed hard through the whole thing and only did one or two modifications to keep the strain off of my knees. And it was still a good workout, but I felt so accomplished for being in shape enough to work hard through it and not feel like dying afterwards! Now I think I'm going to start doing 30DS MWF on my off days from spinning and see if that will help me shed these stubborn pounds to make my first day of spring/21st birthday goals :D

I was bad last night,

4 glasses of wine and an entire rack of ribs to myself. BUT GOSH I love every bite.

There is an NSV, however. I got off plan - but I had done an hour of crazy cardio that morning, and I woke up this morning ate my normal breakfast and going to the gym

Am I going to have a meal like that again? Oh, probably.
Am I going to beat myself up? Nah
Am I going to get up the next morning, dust myself off and continue my journey? Absolutely.

Off to the gym!

Love you ladies.

My therapist says that things are going to happen and the important part is to ENJOY it. Obviously we can't justify it ALL of the time, but it's inevitable really.

Well I tried to play catch up.. read about 4 pages and thought there was no way I could cover it all. From what I do remember.

* I want to try this Hungry girl cook book.
* I need new make up.
* I really really need to get my butt back in gear with the exercise.

For our anniversary yesterday we went to get massages from a place in our mall. OMG. I feel like I was tortured! My back hurts so bad it hurts to shrug.. I feel bruised!

Shortandfluffy -- I heart the hungry girl cook book!! Altho its easier for American's to use because thats where all the ingrediants are from, whereas here in Canada, alot of the ingrediants they use aren't available, but I have fun finding substitutes and I stock up when I hit the US border lol. Looooooove love love hungry girl - you should sign up for the daily newsletter, always a new day of interesting facts and food swaps, etc. Can you tell I'm a fan? lol

FERAL - I'll send you some sunshine from the most Eastern province in Canada!! And must I mention, I have the day off and its +7!!! I'm ditching the gym and going walking in the great outdoors!

On a random note: I've never much cared for whole fruits/veges. The sound of someone biting through an apple skin makes my skin crawl. But I am trying to get more into my diet. So I decided this was the week of the orange.

I brought one in to work with me today and realized... I have no clue how to peel an orange. I had to look it up. :P

And it sounds like Juneau has been nicer too. We've been sunny and at least in the afternoon somewhere between 4 - 7 (my car must be canadian, it reads in celsius. :P)

JennyG

Josten. I think you just made my day! I'm proud of you for trying some fruit! Altho, your comment about peeling the orange made me laugh out loud. thanks! You know what you could try... Motts unsweetended apple sauce, they come in all flavours, not only apple... peach, orange, pomegranate, raspberry, wildberry.... yum yum for only like 60 cals and a fruit serving! You can mix them in with yogurt, oatmeal, oh my - endless possibilities! AND you don't have to peel or bite the skin - however you will have to peel back the foil topping on the container ;)

OMG! Pork chops and apple sauce!!! HAHAHA I had forgotten about that! My friend and I had this little "pork chops and apple sauuuuce" song. BWAHAHA.

Thanks for that Jenny and Josten!

BTW- I'm kind of jealous your car is Canadian. I drive a Honda and she's not Japanese. However, her name is Rhonda the Honda. Meredith's car is Wanda the Honda. :)

Hi girls!!! I am back from the Olympics and it was such an absolutely AMAZING experience!!! I had such a great time and bought scalped tickets for the first time ever! I was so nervous that they were going to be fakes, but they weren't and we had like 10th row and 4th row seats for two events for half price. It was awesome :)

I was able to see some curling, the original dance and the free dance. I am a huge skating fan and have known a lot of these skaters for a long time. It was wonderful to watch Virtue and Moir win the gold medal on home ice. I have watched them compete since they were like 13 years old and about 4 feet tall. It's great to see how grown up and mature they are now. Their program was absolutely beautiful! I actually walked past Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban on my way back from the bathroom and Scott Wolf was sitting in the next section over from us. I loved him as Bailey!

I was devastated to hear the news about Joannie Rochette's mother passing away while in Vancouver. She has always been a favorite of mine. Watching her program last night, I was in tears before it even started. I have been in tears all day long even just thinking about it. She skated so lights out considering everything she has been through and her mother would have been so proud of her!

OK SO.

I am so proud of myself. I have been REALLY craving ramen, so I made up this vegetable beef ramen recipe today. 8 cups of water, broccoli, onion, mushrooms, ginger, garlic, a touch of lite soy sauce, some chicken boullion powder stuff, and BEEF. I basically just boiled the veggies and seasoning together, when they were a little soft I added the beef and noodles from the ramen. According to the dailyplate one bowl was about 143 cals!

...it was actually a lot less than I thought it was going to be and now I only have 843 cals for today. Oops.

Chele- that is so cool! I was crying during Joannie's performance too.

I went sledding this evening and had so much fun. A friend and I snowshoed over to the athletic fields where there's a great hill, and there was no one else there. We were out for two hours; it took an hour to walk there and half an hour to walk back so I got a lot of exercise and had a blast :) We've already gotten over a foot of snow and will probably get another foot over the next couple of days. Finally VT is getting some of the skiing weather the rest of the east coast has had all winter.

Stella wasn't on gchat because she was in a meeting for 13 hours...

The good news is I survived my presentation and I actually got an award - the nurses across the country were polled on which coordinator at my company was the most helpful, etc, whatever, and it was me :) It was a total surprise.

I am however going to go pass out soon. I'm bummed because I didn't get to see any of the skating last night because I passed out by 10pm. This may happen again tonight.

Chele - I was glad they won - I thought Meryl Davis was a stuck up little brat and was praying she'd fall on her face and not even medal. Is it wrong? Probably...but she just had a terrible attitude and the Olympics are about good will and all that, not being a little brat.

Wait, is free skate on tonight?

EDIT - My car's name is Belle because she's silver and pretty.

Mary - CONGRATS on your nsv. That's gotta feel great. I own the 30ds dvd, but i can't bring myself to do it again yet. Its so hard.... thats the kinda thing that i do better in an actual class with other people... I had my own nsv today... see below :) Still waiting for that whoosh... lol

Feral - WHOLE WHEAT PANCAKES. and you just described san diego. minus the tropical. but the beachy makes up for the lack of tropical. and it isn't sticky... the humidity is under control here. and theres plenty of palm trees :D

Go Taylor!!!

uhh shortandfluffy... massages aren't supposed to HURT... wtf????

stella - 13 hour meeting.... holy mother of.... i'm amazed you survived that. congrats on ur award!

forest - wow sledding/snowshoeing sounds soooo fun!!! jealous....

haley - i think she meant it like: we need to name your car, haley. not actually name it haley. anyways. you have an escape? thats pretty cool. my first car was a green explorer. it had two names... its original name was the green machine. then it became the exploder.... it blew two head gaskets on the freeway, not fun. Now i have a wonderful dark silver mazda 6, and it needs a name. anyways, what color is your escape? color is very important for naming a car :D

---

So yesterday my back was killin from the kickboxing class i did. this morning it still hurt a bit, but it was doing better. Not 100%, but better. As the day went on, it felt pretty good. I wanted to do kickboxing again, but i decided against it, and did a different class instead, 24SET (strength endurance training), and it KICKS your BUTT. Its not as high impact and twisting as kickboxing though, so ok for my back. I took some portions of the class easy (dropped my hand weights mostly during any part involving back)... and then when it was done i totally felt like i still had some gas left. so i did an HOUR on the ellipitcal. I just kept going... i wasnt planning on doing that! I feel dead now, but great. I had a snickers bar at work today, so that was kinda motivating me to work extra hard .

While i was at the gym, I had a minor NSV: looking in the mirror i noticed that i was visibly smaller. My thighs are smaller, my shoulders are narrower. I reminded me of my old self. It was sooo exciting, and great motivation to KEEEEEEP GOING!!!!!!!!!!! yay!!!!! one step at a time... The jordin sparks song came on today, and the lyrics are so awesome for this journey we are all on:

Jess - Thai massages hurt. But in a good way. San Diego weather has been so nice, we're lucky. That's pretty sweet that you had a SET class. What did you do there?

Haley - My car is a boy. I like riding him. Ohhhhh the pun. He doesn't have a name though. But he likes when I'm in control. Man, I could go on all day.

Josten - I'm not a fan of apples or oranges but I like bananas (with peanut butter) and a bunch of weird tropical fruits that we don't have in America. Sad.

Feral - Any kids bust their heads open today? Sorry I haven't been no GChat! Will catch up with you properly soon.

Stella - Congrats on the award! Enjoy Florida before you have to go home :) Pick up some hotties.

Anyway, my biggggg NSV and February goal was met tonight. 10 minute mile! I'm going for speed first, then endurance. 5k hopefully by my birthday. The website is killing me. I didn't realize how much I'd forgotten how to code and then I have to tweak Wordpress. *strangles self* Hopefully that stuff will be finished by Friday and up and running.

I survived! I am home & resting in bed. For the first time ever I am nauseous after a surgery. I think it may be a combination of a different anethesia b/c of my seizures & also all of the morphine. The doctor said that he removed the affected areas & we may have more surgeries/chemo but I have to wait until my 2wk. follow-up appt. for the results from the pathology report. Needless to say it will be a long 2 weeks. I am trying to stay positive & think that this surgery took care of "it". I am in a lot of pain & have been taking percocet since I got home from the hospital. I don't know how this will affect my next WI...but quite frankly the pain is immense so regardless I will keep taking the pain meds. I didn't stay OP today. I ate 1 100 calorie english muffin & an HNS. I can't keep anything down b/c I keep vomiting. My bf, family, & friends have been awesome & were there when I woke up. I had a full house this evening which was really encouraging to know that I am not alone in this journey. Thanks to all of you also. You don't even know me, but have provided such encouraging & kind words. Thank you for letting me vent on the forum too. I heart you for that!!! Have a good night everyone & happy WI's :)

**** everyone! Mind if I join you? It has been forever since I have been on here but I really miss the support and accountability I used to find on 3fc. Weight is becoming an issue (again) and I refuse to let it get out of control! Time to get back on track...

A little bit about me, I am 27, live in Wyoming with my wonderful husband and am one half of a husband and wife wedding photography team. I am completely self employed and work from my home unless we are shooting which can sometimes be a challenge eating wise. We travel a TON and I often find myself with extremely limited time. This makes sticking to a particular diet or workout plan tricky sometimes. I am currently at about 133 looking to get back to 120. I look forward to getting to know you ladies! Sounds like you are all very close and such a great group of women...

Haley/Jazz Jess -Yes that was supposed to be "We should name your car , [COMMA] [PAUSE] Haley!" ;) Are you getting on my about my lack of proper punctuation? ;)

Chele - sounds like you had a great time at the Olympics! That must have been really fun. Did you get any pics with that new camera of yours?!?!!

Sam - YAY for healthy choices! Don't you feel tons better when you do that?

Taylor - Chin up! Today is a new day!

Forest - snow shoeing sounds intense, but I would definitely take the sledding!!!! Glad you're finally getting all of that snow you want! You can have mine, it's coming down here this morning but hopefully won't stick to the roads because it was in the 60s on Sunday. Welcome to the South, Spring one day, Winter the next!

Stella - CONGRATS on your award! You should really be proud! :) It's always nice when coworkers appreciate and LIKE working with you! Now, you should ask them since you won if you can upgrade and get a better coworker than the one that annoys you all of the time. Actually, when he starts talking to you, you should just hold up the award and say "NOT LISTENING LALALALAA!"

Jazz Jess - Airhead Mills BUCKWHEAT pancake mix. I think it's pretty much the same thing anyway and it has TONS of fiber. I had to google it because I couldn't remember the name. Here's the link on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Arrowhead-Mills-Pancake-Organic-Buckwheat/dp/B001ELL6MU I bought it at the grocery store in the organic section. Your classes sound really cool. I wish I had a buddy to go to classes with me. Well, I'd have to go somewhere that offered classes first. ;)

New Jess - CONGRATS on the 10 minute mile!!!! That's awesome! One day I'll get there... eventually. No busted heads recently, but the day is still young. They haven't been TOO bad this week, they mainly are whiny for ice. Ice fixes everything with some kids.

Karla - SO glad to hear everything went as well as it could yesterday!!!! You are such a trooper!!!!! If you DO weigh, don't be discouraged if the scale is up. When your body is healing and has had some kind of trauma you tend to retain water. I'm glad to hear your support system is so awesome as well! Still sendin' good vibes to ya girlie! Also, VENT here ANYTIME! We all do. This place is seriously my sanity, especially during the work day!

Stephanie - WELCOME!!!! Sounds like you have an AMAZING job!!! Very cool. Do you have a website? I would love to look at your pictures.

Icon - I said it wasn't Japanese because it doesn't DO anything Japanese. Josten said his car was Canadian because it measured in whatever.... I wish at least one light blinked on in Japanese or something! I do love my Honda though. Refuse to buy American, imports only! I really hate that Acura stopped making the Integra. That car was badddd! They also stopped making the RSX which was my FAVORITE. *sigh*

--------------
Today started off a little rough. The hot water an out half way through my shower. It's FREAKING SNOWING AGAIN! *ugh* I dried my hair and realized I had forgotten to plug in my straightener... which isn't that big of a deal, it heats up fast. Just little things like that... I left the house saying "UGH, Thursday aka TANK DAY is here again."

Then I got an awesome good morning text which made my day AND Meredith had gone to Ross yesterday and was looking in the home decor. She bought me this Buddha statue because she thought of me. Which was very nice. I stopped doing nice things for her because, while I didn't expect anything back, I just felt like it wasn't a 2 way street. Our friendship has become pretty strained over the past 6 months or so and I think we're both making a little more effort.

Remember how I started taking the new BC in November? I had asked about Kariva because I was previously on Junel (Loestrin). Well, I actually like it. I've only had 2 periods on it so far because I had to throw my cycle off due to the abnormal pap/colposcopy, etc. I noticed that there's at least ONE whole day where I feel like I'm going to start and don't... and I've also noticed there is about 3 -4 days of bloating. It's not HORRIBLY out of control. It's just something I noticed that was different from the Junel I had been taking. However, my periods are much lighter and shorter so I'm down with that.

I started yesterday and haven't weighed since Sunday because I knew I would be up this week. Sunday weigh in was 193.5. Today's weigh in was 193.5 so I'm hoping that I am down at least a pound or 2 by the time TOM is gone. That would be REALLY AMAZING! The 180s are so close I can TASTE it! In fact, If I could be at 189 by my trip on the 5th I would be ECSTATIC!!! Plus my 188 "treat" for mini-goal is getting my nails done. I may sub a pedi though because I NEED one of those something fierce. Either way... almost there!!!

HAPPY THURSDAY!

Forest - I want to go sledding!!! And I'm dying to go snowboarding again. Argh, but I have no time :C

Stella - Congrats on the award!! And I commend you for surviving the meeting, I would go insane in a 13 hour meeting!

Jess - Hooray for your NSV!!! Is the 30ds dvd an hour long? I did what was on ExerciseTV and it's a 30 minute workout. But I remember it being 40 when I tried it in the summer, I think.

Jess72 - Awesome, congrats on your mile!

Karla - Feel better soon

Stephanie - Welcome! That's so cool that you work together as a team :)

Feral - You're so close!! I bet you whoosh down to 190 after TOM is over for you ;) You can totally make 189 by your trip! And we're here to cheer you on!

:carrot:

The scale's down a few ounces today - not much, but hey I'm happy if the scale is moving in the right direction! And I'm hopping that will put me below 166 after TOM leaves me alone. Then I am focusing on getting BACK to 159, and lower into the 150s! I'm getting so close to goal, I've got to stay focused!

My mom bailed on spinning with me today :C I haven't quite gotten up the courage to go by myself yet. So, it's 30DS for me! And then a walk so I can get my hour in for today. On spinning days I work for an hour, and I do between 30-45 minutes on off days.

And it's snowing. It's not so bad yet, maybe an inch or so on the ground. But by the afternoon and tonight it's supposed to get bad. And we're supposed to get winds that could cause electricity loss. I hope that doesn't happen because I have some SERIOUS class work to get done. Next week is the last week of this course block and I need to work my butt off!

SO! I just typed a boatloud AND all of a sudden it disappeared! efff!! Here I go again, quickly because now I don't have a lot of time!

Feral - I think you'll get out of the 190's no problem! If your anything like me, on TOM I gain about 2-5lbs. So I'd imagine your whoooooooooosh when Tom leaves will be a good one ;) I know I'm hoping mine will be!

Haley - Everytime I see that you drive an Escape, I think of ES-KA-PAY ( you know Dory from Finding Nemo, I love that part!!) Totally OT but hey it makes me laugh!

Forest - I have been wanting to try snow shoeing for a very long time, Finally I made plans to go on Saturday afternoon, my community is putting on an event where they supply the shoes and then go on a 2 ! Im super pumped...however the snow has been shining since Tuesday (not complaining) BUT its melting all the snow!! I will be mud-bogging instead HAHA

Jess - I'm looking forward to your new website, especially the cottage cheese and pasta recipe! please hurry!

Karla - hope you feel better soon!

So yesterday, because it was so lovely outside, I ditched the gym, parked my truck downtown, put on my IPOD and went walking... for 2 whole hours!! yay me! Anyways I decided since I was in the area that I would check out our pilates store because they sell a little bit of lululemon products, I wanted to know my pant size so I could order some online, ANYHOO, I assumed I was a size 14 but thought I better check to make sure, well they had no 14 (only online) so I opted to try a 12...too big!! Tried a 10... comfy but still roomy. According to LULULEMON, I'm a size 8? wow! What the heck is that, lol, I know they are strechy and whatnot BUT still... AN 8?!?!!? Cool! I think I'll still purchase a 10 just because. but even a 10 is huge because originially I was going to order a size 14!

Happy Thursday everyone!

Feral- I have friends like that and I have stopped making an effort...they call and ask me to do random things and a lot of the times I go but its never anything major... I'm stupid... My car is red, its considered candy apple red so its a darker shimmery red (Jazz Jess too!)

Whew ladies what a morning!!!!

After being ripped a new a$$hole by a parent... for not helping, when I was trying to give her the information so she could GET proper help, but she refused because that would entail too much.... I was shaking. I was SO pissed. I HATE HATE HATE parents that do that $hit. She actually had the audacity to ask if I had children... THEN she had the gumption to call back 10 min later and ask if I would make a copy of her child's social because she needed to apply for a enw one. My blood pressure was THROUGH THE ROOF!

I went and sat in my car listening to music for 30 min. I think that helped.

The sun is shining and all signs of snow are GONE! YAY!

I am super bloaty... yuck.

So yeah, just needed to vent for a sec.

Jenny - I'm jealous of your weather. Can I have some of it? PLEASSEEEEE? I can make a cross country/out of country trip. Up to MD, over to Canada and then to Cali! I think I'm on to something here!!!!

ok i'm gonna try this again. i don't know why i find it so hard to find a few minutes to jump online everyday. i guess i'm gonna see if i can jump on while at work between classes. i'm hoping i'm back for good this time:) i do think of you all often and wonder how your journeys are going.

as for me, same old. bouncing between 149 and 154 on a daily basis. i'm trying to eat more fruit since i never touch the stuff in the winter...and by more fruit i mean 1/day haha. i've also realized how much i go out to eat. it's really disgusting, but SO convenient! i'm attempting to get myself to start making food at home...even simply not buying school lunches everyday will make a huge difference. i have no idea how parents let their teenagers eat that crap on a daily basis. i have some students who eat 2 slices of pizza and an ice cream cone EVERYDAY for lunch...no breakfast, and most of them have fast food every night for dinner. ugh. no like i'm much better though:)

anywho, I hope all is well with everyone! Those of you on the east coast, be careful in the snow!!!

I'm totally in shock, I just got an email from my friend whose wedding I was supposed to be in this summer. I posted a few weeks ago, about the crazy bridal shower. She's called off the wedding. I can't believe it. I'm heart broken for her, what a hard thing to have to go through.

I'm so so sad for my friend. It doesn't surprise me in some ways that the wedding was called off. He's 16 years older than she is and has been single for year, never married. From what I've heard from my friend and her mother, he's very set in his ways. He's gone back on a lot of things that they'd discussed. They spoke about having kids in the next 2 years, b/c of his age, but a couple of weeks ago he decided that he didn't want children for at least 5 or 6 years. He spoke of moving out of downtown san fran for a house closer to work, but decided that he wasn't ready to leave the city, so they weren't moving. It's things like that, I'm sure that made my friend reconsider the marriage. Though he is a very nice guy, I think he's just too used to being on his own and not having to take someone else into consideration. My poor friend I'm sure this wasn't easy for her.

As bad as a person as it makes me, I'm also kind of sad that I won't be getting my San Francisco vacation that I was so looking forward too. The wedding was my motivation for loosing weight, I'm not going to stop, but looking hot in a killer dress was going to be awesome. I guess I'll be taking extra summer school this year, instead of going to California.....

Morning ladies!

Bad day yesterday for eating -- a client brought us all food -- tacos and all the fixings plus really good pumpkin bread (it was all amazing though). Then I came home and ate ice cream... not really sure why I even bought it, but my fiancé and I were going to have our LOST night and we usually have to have a treat of some sort. Sometimes it's pizza... so I suppose a small bowl of ice cream is better than 4 pieces of pizza, right? Today hopefully will be better.

Feral -- sometimes other people suck. I can relate, but only it involved animals for me, not parents and their kids. I'm glad that you know what you need to do for some you time to relax... I have a problem with that.

Mary -- yay for the job -- even if it is temporary -- have fun with it!

JennyG -- I always think of Dory when I hear escape! It's always a little smile in my mind when someone at work says it. :) And how awesome -- an 8! Excellent!

Karla -- I'm glad you are home recovering from your surgery! Rest up!

Stephanie -- you and I have like, the same avatar. Cool! I'm into photography, and would also love to see your photos. I am not a professional at all -- but I love to take pictures. Cool!

To everyone else that I didn't get too -- didn't mean to leave you out. I can try to catch up later. I'm going to run and enjoy the day off I have today... I slept in until 11... I can't believe it. We wasted the entire morning sleeping. Ugh. Have a wonderful day ladies!!

shantroy-i'm so sorry to hear about your friend's situation. that totally blows.
i think you should still plan to go to california, and instead, have a vaca with just you and your friend. i'm sure that week is going to be really tough for her anyway, maybe the two of you can plan something to help her take her mind of off it...and you can buy a NEW killer dress to go out in to rock your new hot body:)

Amy - Hi AGAIN!!! :) Don't feel bad about eating 1 piece of fruit per day. I love fruit and couldn't do it for the first 2 weeks of South Beach. Now I'm scared to add it back in gradually. So you eat one piece a day and I'll work on that too!

Jules - today is a new day! You just need to come up with an alternative "treat" for LOST night. Personally I LOVED the little quaker oats mini popcorn rounds... CARAMEL were my favorite. I used to take those to the movies with me so I wouldn't eat candy or movie theatre popcorn. Maybe you could make low cal cookies/desert or something of that nature. Also, don't know what plan you're on but Weight Watchers has their own ice cream cups. They're a little expensive but I used to get them because it was a SPECIAL treat... it was pre measured and it was SUPER yummy.

Shan - I agree with Amy. Can you plan a trip to visit your friend in California this summer? I'm sure around the time they were SUPPOSED to get married that she will really need someone to be there for her. Then you 2 can go out on the town for girls night and you can rock your bod!!!! And  to your friend. I'm sure that's devestating, but at least she called it off NOW rather than getting divorced in a year!

Jules - I get the same way about animals too. I used to be a dog groomer and would get SOOOOO mad at pet parents for doing messed up stuff.

Have I mentioned I'm bloated? *hides so you all don't throw something at me and tell me to shut up*

2 more hours.

Meredith told me to get some of those gas-x disolvable strips. That helped her feel a lot better. Never used it but it's worth a shot I suppose.

I gotta figure out something to pick up and cook for dinner. My creation last night didn't turn out so well.

I thought about that, but unfortunately, I can't afford to fly to California. The only way I was going to be able to go was because she and her fiance we're generously paying for the bridal party's flights and hotels. Considering that it's about $600 or more to fly from Calgary to San Francisco, there's no way I can swing it. If she comes back up to Canada, which I assume she'll have to as she doesn't have a green card or any landed immigrant status in the States, I'll be able to see her, but I can't afford to go to California. If she goes home to Vancouver, I can fly there and back for about $200. Totally do able, but $600 plus is not feasible.

Part of the reason I'm sad too, is I was looking forward to a vacation with my boyfriend. In the 3.5 years we've been dating, the two of us have never gone on vacation together. We've gone to the mountains a couple of times, but we live less than an hour from them so I don't really consider that a vacation. It was just going to be nice to get away with him for a bit, especially considering that we haven't been able to spend much time together this semester. I know that's totally selfish of me, but I was really looking forward to "getting away" with him, after this crazy few months. I feel like a bad friend for saying that, but it's the truth.

Feral
02-25-2010, 02:02 PM
Shan - don't feel bad about it. I would feel the same way... like, yeah I'm here for this wedding, but I'm getting a vacay too!

Maybe you and the bf could take a trip to somewhere cheaper, but still farther than an hour away?

Maybe you 2 could get a hotel for a weekend and spend the whole weekend in bed, but like a NICE hotel, not a normal hotel?

A little quality time in new surroundings is always nice.

Ok so I totally freaked out yesterday about the snow in NJ so Continental let me change my flight today to ridiculously early without charge...and now my interviews and stuff at Rutgers are canceled for tomorrow.

At least a get a stress free, snowed-in weekend with my boy. I totally need it.

Weigh in this morning was 229.5, I'm in the 220s!!!! Hopefully it stays that way. I have to be really careful about eating because when I'm around my boy I tend to eat a lot more crap... His fam has a treadmill in their basement so at least I'll get to do some running if nothing else.

Way to go Aliquot!!! Thats awesome.

OMG girls, I am starving today!! ughk what a horrible feeling, and I already have like 900 cals gone... I have 400 saved for supper...so thats like 1400, I'm going to my MMA class so that'll burn about 900 cals, I hope this feeling goes away, I could eat a small child I feel so hungry right now (which isn't good, considering I work at a daycare LOL)

I realized I need a high protien breakfast to keep me going for the day, today I had fibre one/yogurt/blackberries and strawberries, too many carbs I think to keep me satisfied! Oh well, at least I know right!!

OFf to the gym...later gators!

Hello my loves :)

I read most of that, but I need to jump in the shower before my sister comes to get me, so I can't respond.

Thanks all for the congratulations. It was nice, because it wasn't the people who I work with in the office, but the people I train/phone/email with. Its nice to know that people like you :) The annoying co-worker left today, and I have a whole day without him tomorrow. Yay :)

Today we had a meeting (again at 7:15, because in science, nothing can start AT A DECENT HOUR). It ended at 12:30. I came to my room with the full intention of doing work, but the internet didn't work...so...I went out to the pool. I wound up taking a 2.5 hour nap - I was still exhausted from the last 2 days. I woke up very refreshed but I look like a raccoon with short sleeves. Oh, my lovely skin. I decided to go to the gym, did the elliptical for an hour, and now I'm convincing myself to shower. My sister and cousin are going to pick me up and we're going to the Cheesecake Factory. I'm jonesing for a fire-grilled artichoke :)

I'm trying to be good with my eating - I don't know how well I'm succeeding, I'm not tracking anything because I don't have internet access 75% of the time and its impolite (or I think it is) to take my phone out during meetings - so I'm just making the best choices I can, and exercising if I can. I am eating a lot of fruits and veggies.

I hope all of you are doing well and I will be back to my responsive self come Sunday :)

JennyG -- I lol'd at your small child and daycare comment. You're right, that wouldn't be good!!

shan -- I wouldn't feel that way. It IS nice to get away, no matter what the reason. I feel bad for your friend, I hope you and your friend get some time to talk.

Feral -- I've also heard of those strips. I ate some really yummy yogurt raisins and then I got this little fruit twists things from Target... I munched on those for awhile. They were good... but really sugary. I am going to try to make some of the desserts from the Hungry Girl book. Maybe I can get my fiancé to eat some of 'em too.

On a side note... does anyone know of a place that would carry or sell crystal or glass taper candle holders? I'm in desperate need of some before my wedding in August.

Feral - it must be a full moon week for crazy parents!!!

I had parent/teacher conferences last night and had a parent come in and ream me a new one for things that are out of my control. The best part is that she told me that I am a horrible teacher and that I don't care about children, especially hers, and that I didn't care because I was protected and wouldn't lose my job. Then, she pulled the whole "Well, you wouldn't understand since you don't have kids..." bull**** too. I was fine until the part where she said that I didn't care about my kids.

After she left, I burst into tears and was hyperventilating crying. I ended up in my boss' office, crying for about 25 minutes after that. It totally hurt my feelings and upset me that she would attack me like that. I am still so overtired from the olympics that I'm sure that led to being so emotional as well, but it sucked!

Feral - American parents are ridiculous. I blame parents for our faulty educational system because they're so overprotective of their children. Look buddy, your kid is a screw up, so teach them properly at home instead of pointing your fingers. How's the camera treating you btw? You enjoying it? Oh, by the way, if you come out to Cali, I'll let you sit in my RSX.

Shan - Bummer for your friend but better to call it off than to go into it knowing you might be unhappy. As for vacation, maybe you can't make it to Cali but there are plenty of other cheap getaways! If you can try something close by, that could be good.

Haley - Why cars aren't "masculine" is normally because men talk about cars and so they feminize it. Well, I invert it :)

Jenny - If you're hungry, try drinking water. If that doesn't work, eat. Don't starve yourself cause you might binge later. Good job for calorie counting though! My book of doodles is about halfway done.

Jazz Jess - If you work out at 24 Hour, we should go do a work out together sometime.

I don't know what to make for dinner. So many options...

Jess! I drank 6 ltrs of water, I should probably be floating by now... anyhoo I was still hungry yes, so I ate some yogurt after supper, yum! Anyhoo I got looking back ( I'm heart-ing sparkpeople big time, because you can look back and compare) and today was my lowest protien day yet - I figured that was my problem - now I have proof!

However Jules, I opted for an orange instead of the small child LOL!
Incase you were worried.

Anyways, I'm off for the evening. talk to you all later!

Stella! Way to go! Even manetaining while on "vacay" even tho your not on vacay, but your away from home and Florida to me is vacay even if I was working lol, moral of the story - if u can keep making healthy choices you should be fine!

Later ladies!

Ugh. Comcast was supposed to come out and fix wires going to my house because my cable and internet have been messing up (I currently have no wireless because the signal isn't strong enough) but then it kept snowing and snowing so they had to wait even longer and STILL nothing. It's been about 2 months now. I hope I'm first on the list! I hate not getting on here everyday but I figured out I can read new posts from my blackberry! :) I went grocery shopping the other day ALL organic and sugar and gluten free! Woohoo. Lets see how this goes!

Shan- I would feel the same way. It sucks to be excited about something only to be dissapointed down the road. I guess for your friends sake its for the better though. Better to break it off now then a couple months after being married.

Jenny- Hahahahaha. Don't eat the kids :) It's not worth the lawsuit you'd have to deal with not to mention the possible jail time ;)

Feral - That was hillarious! :)

So I'm not sure about how you guys feel on this topic, I know alot of people HATE it but occasionally I go tanning (actually recommended by my dermatologist for the winter due to my insurance not covering light treatments) and so I went in today and hadn't been in about a month and she said "You should prob go less time then your norm because we just changed the bulbs" I said "Well if I get hot i'll get out"
I didn't get hot and I didn't get out but now hours later....I am burned hahaha I should have listened to her! :) Luckily I covered my face halfway through so my face isn't burned just my back, belly and thighs. Ouch!!

Got back on track today and it took all the will power I had cause it is midterm week and all I want is a vodka martini and a bag of hot cheetos. Which is a weird combination but whatev.

Some days I feel like getting to the gym and eating well are the only things I *can* do because food is such a huge addiction for me that all my energy is going into my health...

AIR - Hot Yoga sounds awesome. However, I've never actually done yoga, but I love dripping sweat and knowing I'm burning so many calories... I'm yet to find someone who offers it in my hometown! Kudos for you.

Sometimes in my MMA class, our Guru cranks the heat - its borderline death for 60 minutes, so I imagine yoga would be just as bad! I'll be keeping my eye open.

i promise i will write personals soon. Hopefully I can get caught up on work so I can read through the 4 pages i missed

So I actually stood up for myself in regards to the comment the trainer made the other day :carrot:....okay so I was forced into it when I found out that my mom called the gym and complained to the manager. After the waves and waves of shock, humiliation and anger passed, I was able to speak with the trainer and she explained herself. Not the exact way I wanted to handle it, but at least it has been handles.

I just made a mango taco for dessert. I saw it on the show "Just Cook This" OMG is was amazing. I need to tweak it a little bit, but it was the perfect treat. And calorie wise, even with the ice cream (all natural and a lot less fat), it was under 200.

Today went well... Hubby and I are going to Las Vegas in 8 days for a big wedding photography conference. One of the activities includes an industry party where most of my rockstars (wedding photography idols) will be in attendance. Today I went shopping for a dress. This is coming off the heels of breaking down and crying the other night over my fat stubby legs lol. I actually found a dress that I think looks amazing and am looking forward to rocking it very soon! Eating was eh, kept everything in check though and have been getting my water in like crazy. NSV - I actually got to move my belt one notch in the RIGHT direction, LOVE IT! Tomorrow I am going to wake up and finally be able to get a workout in, been nursing a cold that has kept me away from my running shoes for too long!

@Iconised Ghost - Thanks!

@Feral - Thank you for the welcome, I LOVE WHAT I DO :) We do have a website, we do weddings, senior photos and also boudoir photography. http://ardentphotographyinc.com Hope your day got better, I have those days every once in a while as well. Where are you travelling to on the 5th? We are headed on a trip around that time as well, would be awesome to lose a few lbs before then :)

@platformnine - Working with my husband has many perks, he is my best friend so it works out well. Thanks for the welcome :) Spinning and 30DS, you are a machine! I run but those two activities are hardcore as far as I am concerned.

@JennyG - Isn't it awesome when you are a SMALLER size than you had originally though?!?!

@amyleigh - I am in the same boat, sometimes my time is so limited I forget to check in or do the things that are for me, to hold me accountable. We CAN do it! Just take a little while to do it for yourself everyday...

@shantroy - Take a vaca anyway, keep it as a reward for yourself! It is sad about your friend but definitely better for her to find out all of this BEFORE going through with it ya know.

@LuckyJules - We do have the same avatar lol! I had forgotten to update mine when I came back to 3FC... Our website it http://ardentphotographyinc.com, isn't photography amazing? I feel absolutely blessed to have it be such a big part of my life. Hope you turned it around eating wise today, we all have days like that but there is always a recovery to be made :)

@aliquot - Thats awesome they let you change your flight without charge. Last time I had to change mine they charged me an arm and a leg.

@stellarosa27 - ooooooh Cheesecake Factory, that place and eating well do not mix for me. Hope you had fun!

Jess - I go from like 5-7 or 6-8. There's on in Solana Beach and Encinitas, but I have the full membership (except for the mega sports ones).

Josh - That sucks. You should tell them that you were given it because you lost weight! Be convincing. Or maybe call the # on the check lol and have the lady go with you.

Jenny - Yeah, protein intake is pretty important but I had 3 potatoes yesterday, and a potato today so I'm carb loading. Not on purpose though. I think I'm going to start taking protein shakes in a bit. I did a ton of super sets at the gym and now I feel like I have no arms.

In other news: ran a 9:50 mile! And made stuffed bell peppers and mushrooms and oven fries. So full now. Oh, and watched figure skating. Kim Yuna is effin' awesome. She like...flew. And beat everyone else by at least 20 points. Crazy.

so it's 5:40 and i've been awake for an hour. grrr. we have another snowday today, which i don't mind, but the lovely school district decided to make calls at 5am today...a full 20 minutes after i woke up, so i was already showered and dressed. i know i'll be awake for a while and then exhausted all day. grawr.

i'm really hoping this snow goes away soon. i'm jonesin to start up C25K again but with the roads covered in ice, i know that would be a dumb move for my bad knee. also, my stupid gym is out by work so it's an hour and a half away. i think i may trek out there this afternoon to work out before going bowling with the boy and his family. as much as i love my home videos, i don't feel nearly as accomplished as if i work out in the gym..dunno why.

on a good note, the boy and i are going to arizona for easter to visit my brothers. my parents just got tickets too. it'll be the first time he meets the bros, and experiences the whole family together. hopefully he'll survive. haha. i'm super excited to see the sun and have warm weather. counting down the days until mr. sun shines down on me (kick back to second grade music class, don't know how many of you sang that song but it was my fav for years).

anywho, i hope you all have a wonderfully wonderful day:)

Stephanie - Congrats on your NSV! And I'm glad you found a hot dress to rock, that's always a great motivator! I'm really short so I always have found my legs to be stumpy :C

Jess - Try it again, try it again! I was silly and tried it two days in a row because my mom bailed on our spinning class - sooorrrreee! Still made it through alive, though :)

Jess72 - Congrats on the even faster mile!!! Look at you, surpassing your goal :D

Amy - That sounds like Easter will be really fun :)

So, I'm up bright and early for my first day of work! It's really temporary, on an as-needed basis, but that's ok. I kinda wish I could just stay in today, though. Apparently Liberty Travel stops for nothing! I'm worried that the two agents my mom said are supposed to be in today might call out because of the snow. We don't have as much snow as we did in the blizzard two weeks ago, but the winds are really bad.

Watch this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=badHUNl2HXU) to cheer up your day :) It's short, only like 2 minutes long.

HAHAH Amy now i'm going to have that song stuck in my head all day!

Josh - sucks about the check. Just remember it was with good intentions and someone NOTICED that you've lost weight. :) Sucks it didn't work out but there still are nice people in the world.

Taylor - way to get back track. Girl, I feel you on feeling like your WORLD revolves around dieting, but I think you put it in a good perspective. For some of us it really IS an addiction. Just like alcoholics have to deal with it one day at a time, we do too.

Icon/Kelly - glad someone else got my sense of humor. My friend Jason posted the link on FB and I died. He's a twisted kid, that's probably why he and I are friends.

Air - hot yoga sounds amazing. However, I have no sense of balance naturally so I think I would have to get down the yoga moves before I could subject myself to HOT yoga. I think I would get dizzy and fall over. I trip over myself and run into things all the time.

Jenny - It *IS* Friday!!!!! I got my tax returns/finaid return and I completely forgot it was PAY DAY as well! HA! I get paid monthly so usually by this time I'm dying for a pay check. HOORAY! Make it a great day, girl!

Star - that sounds like something MY mother would do. I would be mortified as well, but I'm glad you still stood up for yourself! Did the trainer actually have a "valid" reason for saying what she did to you?

Stephanie - I'll check out your website later this morning. Mornings are always busy busy busy around here. Sometimes it takes me an hour to do a morning post because people come in and out of the office. I'm going to Charlotte, NC to meet up with some friends on the 5th. The weekend of the 18-22 I'll be in Atlanta. I was originally going to Vegas for 311 day (usually in NOLA but had to move it due to scheduling conflicts with the hotels down there), but plans got changed. I've never been. They do TONS of conferences there though. My friend works for a wholesaler and goes twice a year (March/Sept.). HAVE FUN!!!! Take pics in your dress (we want to see) and GET BETTER!!! ;)

Amy- that stinks!!!! We have a new school board and about the only cool thing they do now is cancel school the night BEFORE (at least this year they have) vs. waiting til 5:00 am. When are you starting C25K? Maybe we can be accountability partners? I'm looking to restart it. I'm jealous of your trip to Arizona. Never been there but I'm DYING to go to Sedona. I have some friends that were recently stationed in Tuscon so I'm hoping I can take a trip out there during the fall.

Edit: Mary - Have a great day at work!!!! Hopefully everything will run smoothly. My godfather (I call him my uncle) is the VP of a travel agency. We just some cruise info in the mail yesterday from him. My parents are thinking about taking the family on a cruise for Christmas either this year or next year! WHEEE!

----------

Happy FRIDAY everyone!!!! <3 The sun is out this morning! WHEEEE! Although it's cold as crap, at least it isn't cloudy and cold.

NSV - I've noticed I'm starting to get saggy butt in my work pants/jeans. I don't think its TOO bad (actually the jeans are the worst because they're a size 20, my work pants are 18. I just really don't want to go buy new jeans right now. I hate that I have such a hard time finding a pair of pants that fit (thank you hippo thighs and weird hips). So I think maybe when I hit the 170s I'll finally break bad and buy new pants. Plus I have the pair of jeans that are much tighter, but I can FIT into that I can wear in the mean time. Oh, I think I'm going to have to make a new notch in my belt because I'm at the last one and it's still kind of loose. I refuse to buy a new one for a while if I can just punch a new hole in it myself...I wanna see how far I can get it to wrap around me during my weight loss journey!

I should be getting my new jacket and tank top from Torrid by Monday. I'll take pics and see what you guys think. See if I can plan an outfit for Friday night when I meet up with my peeps in Charlotte.

My bro's gf is in school for massage therapy. On a flight a few years ago she met the general manager of the RBC Center (formerly the Entertainment & Sports Arena) here. I guess she needed some hours for massage and went and gave him a few. She can't accept money, but he gave her 4 tickets in HIS suite for Eric Clapton. I have been invited and am THOROUGHLY stoked. I'm not a HUGE Clapton fan (in the sense I know all of his songs), but I think he's brilliant and am really looking forward to it. Which means my week just got REALLY busy and way cooler!!!! Out of town 5-7th, Clapton on the 8th, Train on the 10th. Then ATL the 18-22nd!

March Madness I LOVE YOU!!!!!

Have a GREAT day everyone!

Well Hello ladies! Friday it is, and I am excited!! Sun is shining yet again, perhaps winter is coming to an end!!

I am almost have a week in of calorie counting, and I love it! It seems to be working! I'm trying to stay away from my scale and focus more on inches and exercising for a while. Taking a little break as some may say... mainly from torchuring myself with that dang scale.

Feral - Clapton and Train!! Nice! I like both. I just seen Guns n Roses the first of February.... A-FREAKIN-MAZING!!! I heart Axel Rose. I have a 4 day country music festival coming up in July, its called the Cavendish Beach Music festival, last year was PEI's first year holding it and it was AWESOME! Everyone goes camping and its a huge field. This year we have Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, aaaahhh sooo many!! I can't even remember, but those are my two faves so far! Last year I volunteered for the festival, so I get to enjoy the whole thing for free!! loved it!
PS - We should go shopping lol, today is my payday too!! wooop wooop!!

I was also looking through pics from a few months ago compared to now... and guess what? My double chin is gone! Efff thats cool!

AIR - I found our one and only place that has HOT YOGA here on PEI, its 15.00 a class and I am going to try it next week. Although, I never did yoga before...whats your advice?

Jenny- The only place around me with hot yoga is 45 minutes away :( so lucky you :)

Feral- you made me read a novel

Stepanie/Jules- I got very confused and thougt that Jules wrote that post lol... I never look at names just pictures

Mary- Enjoy work and that lovely snow...maybe when its snowing people think about going someplace nice and warm... we have really crazy winds here but no snow

Amy- at least you will have a nice day off :) enjoy being snowed in

Josh-that sucks

Anyways ladies I have work and then I might go to the gym... IDK...its supposed to be my rest day but I might still go...

and besides that I'll be studying..like always

Jenny - you threw me off for a minute. I was like "Beach Music isn't COUNTRY!" There's a big beach music festival here every summer. It's basically out in the middle of a field and you bring of your own coolers and chairs and beer and snacks and whatever... You can bring ONE huge cooler per person. Everyone drinks and shags (beach music dance style) and has a good time. It ws okay minus all of the WASTED people. And the fact that even though it was in April it was on the one day that was unseasonably warm..... and all of the girls wear bikinis so chubby girls feel REALLLLLLY uncomfortable. If you LIKE beach music check out The Embers. My friend's grandfather started the band. Chairmen of the Board are really good too.

No more shopping for me. I've spent WAY too much money in the past 2 weeks. Gotta put everything into savings from here on out. You can't quit your job without any savings.

Haley - I'm sorry! It's Friday, I was excited!!!!

Morning ladies :) I have booth duty in a few (I have to stand at a booth and answer questions while the sessions are on break) so I figured I'd stop by real quick.

Mary - good luck on your first day!

Everyone else - HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Cheesecake factory was awesome - I had the artichoke and a chopped salad, sans dressing, and then my cousin and I split a piece of cheesecake but in reality we each only had 1/3 because there was a bit of it left over. I don't say no to cheesecake, its just not allowed in my reality.

I have sporadic stuff to do today - its kind of annoying - I have duty from 11:45 to 12:15, lunch/free time, a meeting from 2:15 to 3:15 - then I plan to work out/shower/eat dinner - because I have a meeting from 8-10. I hate split up days.

I hope you're all having a fabulous day :)

feral- congrats on the nsv!! i've had the same issues with large thighs and hips. i've found that old navy and target are good for jeans cuz they're cheap, so they stretch where they need to. plus when you grow out of them in a few months you don't feel bad cuz you only dropped like 20 bucks on them.

also, i'm thinking of picking up with c25k next week. i want to do a 5k by memorial day and last time i did it it took me 9 weeks to get to week 7, so i want some buffer room. i'm hoping to do my first run on tuesday.

jennierose- go you for keeping up with your program even though you're calendar is all over the place. you should be proud of yourself!!

Marythanks for the vid! it made me giggle. also, i don't know if you're working for a temp agency now, but if this job ends for you, i used to work for hagarty associates in marlton that got me a permanent job in mt. laurel, which was awesome. they also do seasonal stuff (i may end up back with them this summer depending on how teaching goes for me). congrats on working for liberty though, they're a really great company around here!!

Amyleigh - I can't wear pants from Old Navy. They never fit right. That place is the most frustrating for me to buy from. Also, Target is hit and miss.

We had this discussion on here a while back. Aeropastale has jeans called "Curvy" which one of my friends bought and they fit her like a million bucks. I just looked at their "extended" size chart and it looks like I could wear their 15/16 or 17/18. I may run by there tomorrow morning and see. They have them on sale a lot, but I really just need to see if they'll FIT first.

i always get frustrated with aero jeans. they tend to run small for me. their cargo pants, however, i adore. i've had this size 14 pair i got the first time i was a 14, and kept them when i went up to an 18, and now that i'm down to a 10/12 they still fit. they're like the jeans from sisterhood of the traveling pants. magic. haha.

also, i think target (mossimo) jeans differ depending on your area. when i go to the ones by the city, they are curvier, but the ones out here in the burbs seem to be made for straight as a board chics. strange...

I dont even want to talk about jeans... pretty soon I'm going to be pantsless bc jeans and I do not get a long... and my jeans are just too big but I'm currently making them work... I dont know how much longer this will last

I tried on every single style old navy had and I walked away with nothing... I also tried on a million pairs at the gap...same thing...

Currently I have a pair that fit from the gap but they are not flattering at all and my favorite pair is from lane bryant...

soon I'm going to be living in dresses and sweat pants... Honestly if I could just make it to summer I wont need jeans

if you're having trouble with jeans but are willing to pay about 60 bucks for a pair, i just got an excellent pair from a store called buckle. they actually do jean fittings for you, where they take your measurments and style into account and find the best pair for you. it takes a bit of time but the people who work there are super nice. i know i'll probably grow out of mine in about 2 months but i look freakin hot in them so it was worth the 60 bucks (i'm a bargain queen and have NEVER paid more than 25 for jeans. haha). it's really worth the time because it takes out all of the frustration...plus even their women's sizes go by inches like guys pants so it's a lot easier to find jeans that fit. http://www.buckle.com/
*no, i don't work there, just a fan of the store. they have designer jeans too that are crazy expensive, but their house jeans are reasonable.

Hey guys, sorry no personals my life has been drama drama drama for the last couple of days.

Spoke to my friend last night, she hasn't called off the wedding per se, just perhaps postponed it. They're still together, in fact their in Vancouver together at the olympics right now. My gut feeling is that she's attempting to call his bluff and assert some power in the relationship. I can't be sure, but something tells me there's more to it than is being told. Either way, I do feel bad for her....but there's something a little off about it all. I do hope that she figures out what she wants, and things work out whatever which way she wants.

Then last night, my 16 year old god daughter called crying. She's being a bit of a brat, but her mother was being a first class B!TCH!!!! Her mom was calling her a sorts of names and threatening to kick her out, and sell her horses and had generally lost it. I know my god daughter was not innocent in all this, but her mom has a first class temper and when she looses it.....she's outta control. Not violent, but screaming raving mad. Making threats, calling names. The worse part is she threatens ridiculous things, but no matter what mom doesn't follow through so my god daughter just does what she wants. So at 2 am I called my mom and we went down to play referees and get my god daughter outta there for the night. She'll likely spend the weekend at my place and my mom's trying to calm down her mom. I'm half temped to call social services on them. There are two younger girls at home, and this is not a good situation for any of them to be in. They definitely some some serious counseling! It's just not a situation for anyone right now. I just wanna smack some sense in to mom, and shake my god daughter silly for rising to the bait and falling for her mom's need to stir the pot!

I haven't really slept, but think I'm gonna crash pretty soon..... In other news I was back down to 140 even today. But that was after a pretty massive pee so I'm not sure if it really counts. But hey nice to see on the scale after the drama of the last 2 days! Plus I swung by the mall, to pick up something for my computer and stopped in to banana republic and tried on a pair of their jeans and I fit perfectly and I mean perfectly into a 29! Unfortunately, they jeans were wayyyyy to long (sucks being a shorty!) but one of the other BP stores in towns carries petites so I'm gonna swing by there this weekend and get a pair.....I'm trying to decide if I should get a 29, or a 28 for extra moviation......

Shan - When it rains it pours, huh? Hang in there... and I LOLed @ your massive pee comment! ;)

Trying to figure out what I want to cook for dinner tonight. I just realized I am now using the weekends to experiment with cooking new SBD friendly recipes. I would like a nap but am waiting on my mom to come home so she can take me to get my car out of the shop.....

haley wine, pizza, and russians. really, life doesn't get any better :)

as for me, the boy is coming over for dinner with the rents, then we're going midnight bowling with his sister and her soon-to-be bf (keeping my fingers crossed cuz he's a great guy and treats her like a princess) who's driving down to jersey from boston. it'll be my 2nd time bowling in 6 days...and going again on tuesday for work. you'd think i should be good with as frequently as i go...but no. i average about a 60. hahaha.

I FINALLY decided I'm going to try to make Shrimp Curry for dinner... I think.

In the mean time I passed my Mom on my way home but she usually leaves a note or something.... so I tried calling her once it hit about 4:30... no answer. Called a few more times... finally decided to call my dad. Yeah they're at the doctor. Which worries me a little bit... his leg was swollen yesterday. It looked like on one leg he had some kind of bites (red bumps in a confined area) and they couldn't get him in yesterday... but he has an appt today. I guess the thing that strikes me is odd is WHY my mom went. *shrugs*

In the mean time my car is sitting UNLOCKED at the shop. I figured I would've picked it up about 4. I guess I'm going to go lock my car. Go the the grocery store and come home...

Amy - I'm so jealous - I LOVE bowling. My "physical ed" class in college was bowling. My average was about 140 and I couldn't bowl for crap before that. Either way, I think it's fun and don't do it nearly enough! HAVE FUN!

Haley - I don't know how it's going to come out. I'm not the best cook, but I am decent at following directions. I'm experimenting.. you can just call me the Kitchen Scientist... or the Swedish Chef. LOL

Let us know how it goes with The Russian!

so frustrated! I need to find video clips of couple's doing chores, or arguing over housework. I was hoping to find some sitcom clips like friends or everybody love raymond, king of queen's etc. but I can't seem to find anything! To make it even more difficult I need clips of gay and lesbian couples and housework too! I can't find anything!!!! Urg!

I've found episode clips, but I'm having a hard time finding clips that specifically relate to housework/chores. I'm doing a group presentation on the division of household labour in gay, lesbian and strait couples. It needs to be unique so we're setting it up like the Dr. Phil show and wanted tv clips to be the "inside the Dr. Phil house" kind of thing. But I can't seem to find any good clips! Being in Canada too limits my use of some of the free tv sites like hulu and so on. They won't stream to a Canadian IP address :( I've tried looking up a hundred different search combinations and can't find anything.... :(

Stephanie -- Loved your photos! You do amazing work!! I'd like to one day expand my experience and try out some wedding photography or something, but for right now I need to keep practicing and use my easy subjects that are here in my home (my poor pets... lol!). How did you get into your profession? What did you do for practicing? What do you use for your editing program?

Feral -- Express has some jeans in a curvy fit. They are my favorite jeans. I have bought all of my recent jeans from there. My favorite jeans ever, however, where the Sevens that I bought a long long time ago... they currently don't fit me (they are too big, so I guess that's a good thing??) but that means I can't wear them until I get them tailored. I LOVE them, but I don't think I'll be spending $215 on another pair of jeans until I know that I can stay that same size.

Some of you other gals have talked about AE jeans... I really should go try those out. I've pretty much bought every style at Express, so I need to venture out of there and get some different brands.

AmyLeigh -- I've got some jeans from Buckle too -- I've also been satisfied with all of their jeans there.

shan -- I'm glad that you are there to support your friend, sounds like she could use some guidance and support to help make the right decision. I hope she's doing okay. Also sounds like there really is a lot of other drama going on with your family -- I remember being a bratty teenager too though... hopefully this will just be a short phase and things can move on smoothly.

Haley -- I also had pizza... but it was because my fiancé and his buddies are here playing some weird computer game on our tv... I don't get it, but they are having fun. I'm in the office just jammin to some music and trying really really really really hard not to think about the caramel ice cream I have in the fridge. I think I out ate the boys in eating pizza... is that even possible?!? Those 4 hardly touched it... which makes me feel horrible... but I was also shocked. Sigh.

I am TOTALLY addicted to yogurt covered raisins. I can't stop. They are just so tasty.

And in other sad news... my skinny pants can no longer be buttoned. Yet I whined above about eating pizza. Ugh.

I am going to Borders tomorrow to get some self-help books... my fiancé suggested them actually. He wants me to try to read first before I go back to my doctor for my bi-polar issues (I haven't mentioned it in this thread, but I have made other posts in other sub-forums about it). I was going to order them online, because I think they are cheaper, but I just want to start and get reading them. I have a busy weekend... working tomorrow morning, a co-workers son's 1st birthday party, then book shopping, then I'm not sure... but then Sunday will be a good day -- going to brunch with my mom and then to my first wedding gown fitting. Yay!
