Can we say running out of clever ways to name the daily threads? Oh well, the message gets across no matter how cheesy! I did Jen's running program this morning at 5:15, so I'm up early and trying to let the sweating slow down before I get in the shower. There's nothing I hate more than continuing to sweat after I get out of the shower. Nothing will ruin your hair and makeup faster, I tell you what (read that last part in your best Hank Hill voice).

Oh Deb, I know just how you feel with the whole brownie thing. You eat one of something, which would be ok, then you go back for one more, and before you know it you've eaten three, two that you didn't even particularly want, and you feel so ill that you just want to lay on your couch and go to sleep. But you did the right thing by walking it off right away. I wonder if we forced ourselves to do some heavey form of exercise immediately after a bad food choice if we could "train" ourselves away from it, almost like a punishment... But I would grow to hate exercise, and since it's already a struggle, maybe I'll just leave it alone. I bet you all are so GLAD to be part of my stream of consciousness this morning!:p

Today is the first day I could possibly hear about the job I interviewed for. One of my friends who works for the school district told me of another opening for a preschool teacher. It is twelve hours a week, doing what I have experience doing, so I think I will apply for that one as well. If this job falls through, it's nice to know that I could have a chance at another very part-time job that I'd really enjoy.

I went to Sam's Club yesterday and stocked up on healthy stuff. I was falling off before because there really wasn't anything healthy in the house and I was too busy (or so I told myself) to grocery shop. Now I have NO excuses, and will be so on track, your heads will spin! Sam's really has done better in getting in lite and fat free products. Not that they don't have a long way to go, but I'm seeing more and more of a healthy trend there. Good thing, because I do the majority of my shopping there.

Ok, enough of my six a.m. random thoughts. Ihope everyone has a wonderful day!

Oh yeah, one last thing...I lost another pound last week, even with my atrocious eating and no exercise...HOW??????? I guess I should not even complain, but this is two weeks in a row with a loss and no effort or exercise whatsoever on my part (seriously...I ate leftover hamburgers, brats, and chips all week...no way I should have seen a loss!) Anyone have any thoughts on why this is occuring?

Girls..... I have missed you all SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!

A few weeks ago we came in to work and read our emai.... our work was doing this trial monitoring thing where they wanted to monitor our internet for 3 weeks to see what sites its employees frequented for business purposes and to see how unlimited internet access benefitted the company.... that was their nice way of saying they wanted to see how much time their empolyees wasted on the internet. 3 weeks... i was dying. They told us to continue using the internet as we would normally, but I was like "yeah, right."

Oh man! Have I missed you all.

Brian and I are still dating... and I haven't WI in 2 weeks because our WW at work ended and isn't starting up again... so I'm going today to my leaders other WW at Work program at another company. She talked to that company and they said they wouldn't mind if I joined their meeting.

Jayne - that has happened to me plenty of times. Your metabolism adapts to the calories you eat and the exercise you do.... and when you eat fewer calories, your metabolism slows a bit to become more efficient. It's a survival mechanism. Every now and then, when you eat more.... it can speed up... it's receiving more food and doesn't have to be as efficient. Although, it's usually short term... Your metabolism will slow again and adapt again. So sometimes it's good after eating at your min for a while, to jump up and eat at your max... it just keeps your metabolism from adapting. Just be careful and don't think "oh, I can eat like this and still lose weight" because like I said it's a jumpstart... but not a long term thing.

I can even begin to go back and read all the posts I missed... how is everyone... I've missed you all more than you can imagine!!!!!!

Thanks for the 6 am thoughts, Jayne! At least you can keep a thought at that time of the morning.

Today is new day, I will be a good little weight watcher! I too haven't gone food shopping yet for this week, so I've got no fruits & veggies in the house.

Good luck Jayne with your job opportunities. I know that you will find something that you like.

I'm off for the day because they are doing road work to the building I work in, and a new phone system is being set up today so no phones either. I said "looks like a day off to me!".

I've got to get Jeremy a hair cut, some school clothes shopping to be done & we're meeting a friend @ the beach by 1 PM. I'm still in my jammies and it's 9:30 AM ... I'm such a slacker when it comes to getting things done when they HAVE to be done. I'm like a 3 year old ... "I don't WANT to do it! [insert temper tantrum here] and will stall until last minute & then put myself behind the 8 ball. Nothing like being an Aquarius.

I'm going to walk/run on the treadmill in a bit.

I've got to follow up on the condo/co-op listings. My dad was going to look through the listings I gave him (since he's such a financial influence in my purchasing decision) and found 1 more yesterday.

Hope you all have a great day today! The sun is out & I've got to get going!

:flow2:

Morning All -

Lisa!!!!! I'm so glad you're back. We missed you girl! Glad that things are working out with Brian and that you were able to find a new meeting to go to.

Deb - ~diet coke, diet coke, diet coke~ GO SHOPPING.....get those fruits and veggies and move on from brownie day. Oh and have fun with your son at the beach.

JenL - I love the smell of lilacs. I'm hoping to plant some myself next year. Also, I did have the hots for Sean. I actually still think he's amazingly good looking and one of the nicest men I've ever met but alas...he is woefully uninterested in me...plus he's such a nice guy that even if there was a flicker he'd never act on it as long as Christian is interested.

Jayne - Ditto what Lisa said re: losing while eating junk. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for you on the job(s) situation. Magnetic posts huh? That could be interesting! Accidental kissage is when you totally aren't planning on kissing a guy - it is the furthest thing from your mind and suddenly you find yourself in a lip lock with him. The first kiss was totally accidental....I'll confess that the other ones were somewhat less than accidental....but can you blame me? that boy had skill!

Uh-oh must work. Why oh why do people insist upon thinking that I come here to work?

Laura

We are so happy you're back...can you tell?
:hat: :hat: :hat:

I'm glad you're still dating Brian, he seems like such a nice guy! And I'm glad that you found another WW at work to attend...things work out so well when you can go in your workday and not have to use up your precious evening time. Things seem to be going well for you! I can't wait for more updates about how you spent your last three weeks of withdrawl...

Laura, I guess now that you describe it, I too have done my share of accidental kissage. Kind of like an unexpected lil bonus, isn't it? Especialy with a skillful boy who makes your legs all jello-y!!! You need to set all those silly coworkers straight on the real reason you show up there...to hang with us!

Deb, have a great day off! With Jeremy and you both starting school and with the stress of finding a new place, it sounds like you really need one. And days like today, you really get nothing done at work anyway, so go with it and enjoy!!!

Must get off my butt and clean, but I'm all sleepy now from waking up at 5:00...maybe I'll take a nap with Aaron. That sounds just wonderful right now!!!

Hey all... another day another dollar... Ughhhh. I need a day off. 10 days until vacation... yippeeee!! Training the receptionist and she is picking up pretty quickly. We don't do constant supervision because non of us have enough time, but that also makes the position yours. So it is kind of nice in a way!

Last night I checked on my parents house since they are in Ireland, took Sadie the dog so she could run like mad (they have acreage!) and also had to pick veggies from their garden. Their garden is HUGE!! I brought a bucket home with me. So then I was shucking corn to freeze (corn from hubbies parents, aren't we lucky) and Sadie stole a tomato out of th bucket and chomped it. It exploded in her mouth (you know how that happens) and tomato was all over the kitchen. It was pretty funny!

Jayne, the best time to plant bulbs is late September/October. When it cools down. Her in WI, I plant them in October.

Welcome back Lisa, hope the work situation is OK.

Deb, have a great day off, I am jealous!

But congrats on gfetting back into the healthy foodl ife. And for running at 5am?! I can never get my butt out of bed that early. Right on:cool:

Welcome back, Lisa! great to see you again, and good luck getting back on program. I hate it when my schedule gets shifted!

And to everyone else.. I will write more later. I forgot about my broiling chicken and I'm late for school! Have WI tonight, feeling pretty good.. HOpefully I'll be in a new century by tonight :p

Have a great day!

Well, hello everyone! I have just the right amount of time for a nice, long post before I need to go eat some lunch.

Well, last week's eating was awful, I got back on track on Friday, didn't do so well on Saturday (I live in Nebraska, of course there were some Husker parties), did great on Sunday, didn't do so well yesterday, but am bound and determined to do better today. I was only about 7 points over yesterday and if I eat low today and get 2 activity points, I won't feel so bad for yesterday and tomorrow I can start banking points for Friday, when BF and I are going out on a "date". After last week's eating-free-for-all, I thought it would be easier to get back on, but I'm kind of struggling. Of course, the few days before TOM probably isn't the best time to try to be a good little WW... But I can do it, darnit.

Jayne--I'm trying to keep myself back on the WW-wagon. Maybe we can help each other stay on if I stop and pick you up. :goodvibes: Based on the research I did during my plateau, Lisa is right about the effect of your "junk-eating" and she's right that it's only temporary, sigh. If it were permanent, I'd have reached and exceeded goal by now. :) Good luck with the job, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. And way to go running this morning! That's awesome!

Lisa--HELLO! We're so glad to see you back! :grouphug: (Gosh, I love these new smilies). That's awesome that you and B are still dating, hope things are great. I'm also glad that you found another meeting to go to. There's so much catching up to do, you'll have to post several times a day to get us back up to date. :twirly:

Deb--Oh, how I need a day off. I'm a volunteer for Race for the Cure and I need to go around town distributing the advertising for it during one of these afternoons. I also need to go through my closets and re-arrange them, do some ironing, vacuum, etc. But I hesitate to use my vacation because I kind of want to hoard it. :) I think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and use it one of these days.

Laura--Yeah, I don't understand why my co-workers insist on thinking that I'm here to work. They just don't realize that there are far more important things going on at the 3FC 20-somethings board. Ahhhh... the old accidental kissing thing brings back memories of being single.

Jen--Your parents are in Ireland? How wonderful, I'm very jealous. Where are you vacationing to? Your exploding tomato reminded me of a question I meant to ask the group. :)

I grilled some hamburgers a couple of weeks ago and when I went to cut one of them to see if it was done, it exploded all this (hot) hamburger juice everywhere. Has this ever happened to anyone else? What the heck was that all about? It was funny, but kind of gross--I don't really like when my meat spurts juice...

OK, time to go microwave some lunch. Yippee!!

Hey Jess..... We are going to CA and visiting Disneyland for the first time. We are Mickey Nuts and love DisneyWorld. So this will be a treat. We are also bringing Emma with, which could be good or bad. 1 hour flight to Twin Cities, then 4+ hour flight to CA. YIKES!!!

As for the exploding hamburger. It was probably moisture. They add water to meats (don't ask why) and the heat could have built up pressure, so when you poked it, it spurted. Like when you cook brats and poke the skin, they spurts juices. Completely normal, unless it took out an eye!!!

Jess, the spurt means more or less that you cooked it at the right temperature, too. You got the outside seared and sealed in all the juices...too bad the seal broke and you got nailed! And Jen's right, with the adding water to meat...they do it so that it weighs out heavier. Not 100% honest, in my opinion, but they all do it...

Jayne, my fave is ham and water product. It drips with water. I have a degree in this and did you know that they can legally add up to 10% of a hams weight in water. That is a lot of water!!!

O.K. I really don't want to sound like a sarcastic smartie but you have a degree in adding water to meat? I know that can't be...what is your degree actually in?

Jen, I should let you know...flying with little ones is a REAL adventure. Poor Aaron has already been on 6-7 flights (not including connecting flights) because we have family in New Orleans, South Florida, Florida Panhandle, Milwaukee, San Francisco, Ohio, Connecticut, Arizona, and many other places...We do buy Aaron his own seat and use the carseat, because we have found that way he's in the mode of having to stay there. We let him up occasonally, but we found it works better for us behavior-wise. Most airlines will give you a big break too if you tell them the seat is for a baby in a carseat. Just throwing out some unsolicited advice at ya! :)

My degree is on Animal Science (agriculture) and business. Interesting huh! I work in the computer software field, but when you see the whole picture, you can see how it is all related!

Jayne, we flew with Emma when she was 4 months and that was a piece of cake. This was before she could walk, talk and scream NO MOMMY!!! We'll see what happens. Hubby bought a portable DVD player and we bought a new Wiggles DVD, Shrek and Stewart Little. All her favorites!!!
