Default Do you get hungry close to your period?

For about the last three years, about 10 days before the start of my period, I would get RAVENOUSLY hungry...I mean, if it ain't tied down, it's going in my mouth hungry.

It just dawned on me, since it's "that time" that this time, no hungries!!!

For the first time in a long time, I'm not tempted to eat the baking chocolate...or scoop the ice cream straight out of the bin (of course, I don't HAVE any ice cream right now, but you get what I mean...)

It's pretty amazing how eating certain foods, in a certain order, at certain times can change so much.

I often crave something sweet, so I drink a Light 100 calorie Chocolate Muscle Milk, it's JUST like having a HNS. 15 grams of protein!! I get my chocolate fix and it's filling!!

Now that you mention is...no, I don't notice cravings as much around my period (though I did want a lemon bar yesterday). Never thought about that before. Hmm....

I get so hungry I feel like I could eat a horse! LOL I went through “that time” during my pre-conditing and I haven’t quite been on program a month yet so I’m not sure how it will be this time but I figure it will be hard. The week before I am sooo hungry. I bet before MRC I ate more calories the week before my period than I do all month! No lie!

Yes!

Last month was my first month OP with my period and I DEFINITELY had cravings that week and also only lost 1 lb that week. At least I didn't give in to any cravings!

I remember on my first round with MRC they told me to take chromium picolinate to curb those cravings.

Most of the time when I crave sweets at that time...I just sniff the cookie and put it back in the jar. LOL! It usually works! Same with garlic bread and pizza!

Heck yeah I get cravings!

I don't think they'll ever go away because I've been OP for 4 months and every month I struggle a week before my period.

I'm going through it right now! To help me, I've been trying to maximize the green as much as possible...like eating an 8 oz salad with a meal replacement shake, and chicken boullion soup...

I wonder if you retain more water when you are on your cycle? Does anyone know how if that is true?

I haven't gained anything before, during or after my period, so I would have to say that it isn't true for everyone...plateau maybe, but no increase.

I don't get hungry, but I think I retain water.

I have an issue retaining water anyway..but during my TOM i retain really bad..like right now you can press in my legs and it stays dented so gross...im holding on to alot fo water. I weighed in yesterday and I'm 2.5lbs UP but i know its water weight b/c it IS that TOM so Im not too stressed about it. The people at my center seem to freak out about these things but i know my body and its water that will come right back off.
