Is my activity level light, moderate or intense? I'm trying to figure out my factor for the Harris method. Here's my exercise schedule.

M - hike 3.5-4 miles (60-90 minutes) about 1000 ft of elevation gain
T - same as M
W - 30 mins balance ball, walk 3 miles or rest
Th - 30 mins balance ball, 3-4 mile walk/jog
F - same as T
Sat - rest, but walk 1 mile
Sun - 30 mins balance ball, walk/jog 5 miles or rest if no rest W

Thanks!

I'd say moderate. Intense is going REALLLLLY fast, like sprinting or running up stairs and stuff. It's heavy sweating, out of breath enough to where you can't have a conversation, and a high heart rate I believe.

Light is like, doing laundry and cleaning the dishes by hand, going on a casual walk, etc.

um, it COMPLETELY 100% depends on what you are doing IN BETWEEN your workouts. The workouts themselves might be moderate, but if you dont move uch the entire rest of the day (ie;desk job, go home have dinner, watch biggest loser, go to bed) than i would call your activity level light.

My activity level was BARELY considered moderate when i was trainign for a marathon--running 60 to 70 miels aweek, weights 4X a week, etc etc..... because i was lazy and sat around the rest of the time! Youre better off underestimating your calories burned anyway...in the beginning...
