Good morning, ladies! I'm only hear to start a new thread. On my way out the door. Today was supposed to be a
day off, but I got a call yesterday afternoon and was offerered 7
bank jobs. Last week they paid $10 a piece, so I figured that was a pretty decent day's work. Just for fun I asked the girl if they only paid $10 and she said, "I can give you $15 a piece"!!! Well, holly smokin' Joe! :yikes: "I'll take it!" I said, with great enthusiasm! That was an easy extra $35 for the day!! WooHoo!!! :dancer: Momma always says: "Ask. The worst that can happen is they'll say 'no'!" Boy, was that worth it!!! :spin:

I'm taking the oldest son with me. He's out of school until Tuesday after Labor Day so it will give him something to do. I enjoy his company, he's such a great kid!! :D

Gotta run. Hope to see you all later. Love  to all.

Good morning to my fellow fat fighters.

I rose bright and early this morning and got busy making curtains this morning. Yes, I know... I should be getting ready for my vacation... I have tons of stuff to do and bills to pay before we leave. But.. I got out my sewing machine to fix several pairs of pants. (elastic coming apart, seams coming lose, etc) Since I had the machine out and set up I decided I should finish my new bedroom curtains that I only pinned months ago. :o
Well... in trying to save $29.99... I have now wasted 3 hours trying to make do... and I still have to go out and buy those extra $29.99 curtains. Gee... will I ever learn I am not Dolly Domestic.

I ate a couple of eggs for breakfast and I am munching on some radishes as I type.
I figured out one reason I had been struggling with my food is because I am trying to run down my refrigerator food since we will be gone... and I don't have my "favorite" legal snacks that keeps me honest and true to my food plan. Now that I am "aware" as to why it had seemed harder lately... it has become easier again. :D

I still have that ton of stuff to do and bills to pay... so I am out of here. I will reward myself with an opportunity to post again after I have my bills paid.
Setting goals and having rewards seem to help me get this stuff done... maybe I should apply it more to my weight loss efforts too.

Today is FUN FRIDAY !!!!.... so go out there and do something fun TODAY that you have been putting off until you get skinny.
Thin... making money can be fun too. LOL But how did you come up with 7 jobs @ $15 being only $35??? Even 3 would have been $45

08-23-2002, 01:33 PM
Just went and read the last thread.
Lucky.. you are sooo funny.

I am sending men vibes :goodvibes: to each of you waiting for your prince charming. But you know what they say... "you better watch out what you ask for... you just may get it"

I have everything crossed crossed for you. Even my eyes.:dizzy:

08-23-2002, 01:55 PM
Well, I've been a big lazy butt so far today! I stayed in bed until 11:30am! :o I don't have any students today so I'm just planning on assembling a HUGE bookcase we got for our home office from IKEA, tidying this place up a bit and then heading into Toronto to see some visiting relatives-in-law that are staying with my BIL.

While I truly find these relatives friendly, I KNOW I'm going to be put on the spot because my husband's family ALWAYS goes out for HUGE Chinese dinners when they get together!!! (They are, btw, Chinese.) They order huge platters of food that sit in the center of the table for all to have and there is literally NOTHING there that I WANT or SHOULD be eating. If I do eat, I'll feel terrible. If I just sample a couple of things, everyone is SURE to comment! Grrr... I've only met these relatives twice before and they don't know what a struggle I've had with my weight so I'm definitely NOT blaming them or calling them unthoughful. I just don't feel like explaining my whole diet to EVERYONE, all the time. I'm such a complainer!!! I'm sure I'll survive this one dinner!

THIN... Thanks for missing me! I know what you mean about keeping a calender of who's SUPPOSED to be away and who just fell off the face of the planet! I think KAT is the only one legitimately away right now (until September) although don't quote me on that! (Oh yeah, and TINA will be away until Sunday). Hope you had fun making all that extra $$$ today!

J-ANN... Ahhh! I can't remember all your last post off-hand! Is 25 too young to have started losing my memory?! I know you congratulated me on my 5 pound loss... Thanks! I think it was you that said a while ago to make sure I did something special when I reached 50 pounds lost! While I'm definitely happy to be 53 pounds lighter than I was a few months ago, 60 AND 70 are more significant numbers for me. The first is my half-way mark and the second will take me from the 200's to the 100's! I'm hoping to reach BOTH those goals within the next 5 weeks! That'll be SO exciting for me! Then I'm definitely going to reward myself. Some new clothes at 60 and maybe get highlights in my hair when I get into the 100's! Good thing my hubby is making the big bucks... my weight loss is sure costing him!!!

Lucky... Congrats on the new job! :) No need to thank me for the positive job vibes though... what are friends for?

Mary... Ugh. I hope TOO much of that 3-day employee's work load doesn't fall on you!

Steph... Glad to see you're sticking with us! :)

Hi to everyone else! 2cute, Baylee, Susie, Marusha and YOU!

I SHOULD have a shower and put that darn bookcase together! I'm sure it'll take a while!

Toodles for now,
Sara :)

08-23-2002, 07:48 PM
Hi everybody! I actually got home from work in time to get the paperwork done and faxed off and still have a minute to post before DH walks in the door! WooHoo! I'm sooooo excited because I'm now off for the weekend! :D You heard me right, no jobs for 2, hear me TWO, whole days! :cloud9:

2cute: I got from a $10 fee, which would have been $70 for 7 visits, to a $15 fee, which is $105. For a total of an extra $35!!!:cp: Congrats on your cheat free day! Doesn't it feel soooo good? * I've saved lots of money that way too: making it myself and then having to buy it anyway! Wooops! You better quit dinkin' around or you won't get to go on vacation! Move it, move it, move it! :cb:

Sara: Yes, Kat until September, Tina til Sunday and now 2cute for a week. Not sure when Malia's leaving for Europe. I know she's said, but I don't remember. :( Have fun in Toronto. It's such a great city!

J-ann: I liked you seafood vs. seefood. See, you're fitting right in!!! That water workout sounds like fun!

I just know this isn't going to let me post all these smilies again. Why the heck did they give me soooo many choices???? :censored:

08-23-2002, 07:50 PM
Malia: Sorry about your backslide. Especially as you said, you'd already gone through the detox process. I know when I backpeddle, I have **** to pay try to get back with the program. Here's all good wishes for a quick pick-me-back-up! :goodvibes:

LuckyLadyBug: Congrats on the new job! Sounds like the man is all you have left to need, and honey, there are days when you don't need one of them either, let me tell ya! I agree with 2cute, be careful what you wish for! :spin:

Mary: Doesn't it just frost you how nobody wants to work for a living anymore? Geez! Hope you don't end up having to pick up all the slack!

Tina: Hope you have a great time at the race! Your determined, you're queen :queen: you CAN bypass those evil food demons! I found something just for you. I've posted it down below.

Gotta run. Honey's home. See you all later.

08-23-2002, 09:19 PM
Hello again guys. well... I got my bills paid and threw away a TON of trash mail too. I shouldn't complain about junk mail... if it wasn't for it and bills I wouldn't have anything.

I also fixed my husband a nice dinner tonight. Last night he ate like a pauper. LOL I was embarrassed to feed it to him. LOL

Still on program... but lacking in my water. I need to make a committment to drinking more. It is really confusing to me.. because I even like water.

Thin... thanks for the explanation. It makes sense now. :p
Two whole days off... WOW. Maybe you should jump in the car and take your hubby on a "surprise" romantic getaway.

Sara... Don't forget about me !!!! I will be gone for a week. I think we are leaving Saturday night or Sunday morning. My daughter gave me her old lap top computer but I don't think the cabin has telephone access. :( I will take it just in case.

Gee... no one else has posted on this thread. :^:
I guess it makes it easier to reply to everyone. LOL
I am off to make my packing list. (I still will forget something)
Thin has spoken... I have got to move it, move it, move it
See you all later.

08-23-2002, 09:55 PM
HI ladies
Hope you are all having a great day
No the girl quiting won't affect me much. In fact if she is not as friendly as she seemed I'd just as soon she quit. We have a good relationship with the community and I don't want that to change.

I am up 4 pounds:( I have been eating out a lot lately.

Well I better go Gotta pull the cat off DH the cat likes to nibble our hair:grouphug:

08-24-2002, 12:18 AM
It's Friday! Yea! And I have the whole weekend off. Sunday is WI so I am planning on seeing a loss. Came home from work tonight to find that my MIL baked brownies :( but guess what, I didn't cave. I came right to the computer. :cp: Happy to say that I've been sticking to my exercise and eating. Tina-hope you have fun at the race. Coincidently, I work for Home Depot so Tony's our poster boy. Just want to thank everyone for all your support :grouphug: It's really been a big help and I still have a ways to go, but you all make the journey alot easier. Night.

08-24-2002, 12:24 AM
Thin & 2Cute I have been without a :flame: for 2 years and am more than ready to move on and find another one. I love being alone, so of course my :strong: hunky, hot :tomato: will be the understanding kind.

I was thinking on this subject today and realized I had (in my early days) two men I dated (one I almost married) ) that are exactly what I am looking for now! Go figure

Anyway, I am counting on all of you...DO NOT forget the wealthy part! and that he will treat me like a :queen:. If he is wealthy I can stay home and post here all day!!:flow1: :goodvibes

Tomorrow is mow, rake, and move plant day.

08-24-2002, 04:09 AM
Well, here I am sitting at the computer at 3am in the morning. Why? I am nuts? Well, yes I am nuts, but also, I woke up to use the bathroom and my mind starting thinking about work related things and now I can't sleep. I am hoping that sitting here for a little, will relax me and make me tired.

Anyhow, weigh in is today. I hope I lose something. I would really like to lose that 1.5 so I can measure myself, but any loss would be good, as there is always a possibility of a gain.

BTW, it was confirmed that I have strep throat, and now my husband is sick too! I told him that he didn't baby me when I was sick, so he is on his own. Maybe I shouldn't have said that, but he is such a big baby without being sick, and I honestly don't have the strength back yet to take care of me, Andrew and him. He will just have to take it like a man (LOL).....

LuckyLadyBug: Good luck on finding Mr. Right. I was lucky and met mine at work. Be patient and he will come.

Steph: Good job on resisting those brownies and Good luck on WI.

Grannie: Sorry to hear about your gain, but don't worry, you will get it back off in no time.

2Cute: Have a great vacation. Sounds like you are on the right track to your healthier you. I am so proud of you.

Thin: Enjoy your 2 days off from jobs. You sure are a busy little bee.

Sara: You don't have to deprive yourself, just portion yourself out. If you have to have the chinese food, prepare for it. Don't get overly excited about it, or you might get out of control. Besides, one dinner didn't make us overweight. Enjoy your relatives and eat smaller portions. Plan it into your day and you will be fine.

Well, about 5 hours until weigh in. Wish me luck.

08-24-2002, 11:28 AM
I know better than to not copy my post before I submit it. Now why didn't I do that this time???? I'm :censored: ! I will have to return later when I'm in a better mood.

Love  to all!!!!

08-24-2002, 02:06 PM
Just peeking in for a second. I have not done one productive thing all morning and the finish line is right in front of me. I am running out of time to procrastinate much more. :^:

Just wanted to peek in and read... and glad I did.
Baylee... hang in there girl. I have stayed on program pretty darn good and I am not losing an ounce right now. But I am not going to worry about it until after vacation. I plan to stay of program during vacation... but no promises. LOL But when I get back.... WATCH OUT !!!! I am going to do whatever it takes... even if it means .... EXERCISE !!!!!
I am TIRED of this !!!! I am going to get this darn weight off one way or another.

Lucky... can you look up those old flames today????
Maybe they are wishing they had you back too.

08-24-2002, 03:49 PM
I lost 3 more pounds at WW this morning. I am now officially at the lower end of the 270's. Yes, I am happy about this. I am only a few more pounds away from the 260's. I am now 54.5 pounds down at WW, so hopefully I will have a good week and lose that 1/2 pound so I can get my star.

I haven't measured myself yet, but will do so this weekend. I am just so happy.

Have a great weekend everyone.

08-24-2002, 09:25 PM
Where is everyone I know Tina is at Bristol. I have the rece on now. wworked this morning went to a flea markrt this afternoon. Have a good night

08-24-2002, 10:07 PM
Hi everyone,
I am still new to this whole system, but I am trying. I lost 6 pounds this week in my first week at WW. I tried to do points on my own, but I just can't seem to follow it very well without the weekly accountability of the weigh in. I have the points down and the water is going okay, but the exercise still isn't coming. That's my focus this week.
I just want to say thanks to everyone who posts to this forum. I am single and live alone. None of my friends have weight control issues and sometimes you just need someone to talk to who really understands the issues. It's so easy to feel alone in this weightloss battle, to get discouraged and quit. Then I read the forum and gain strength and encouragement from all of you. With your help, I really think I can do it this time.

08-24-2002, 10:30 PM
I am sooooooo pooped.... I started mowing, raking, hauling, transplanting, digging and cutting and sawing bushes at 10AM. I got all that done and washed two cars (with hose and a bucket NOT at a car wash) by 6PM. Since then I have taken a shower, washed dishes, did 2 loads of laundry and taken 3 Advil!!!!!:fr: My toes even hurt.

I still have more bush trimming to do but the sun reached that area and it got way to hot.

I haven't had time to eat.

You would think I would weigh 100 lbs with all that work!!!!!!

I would like to have this energy every day but :twirly: it doesn't seem to work that way.

I am contemplating bed....at 8:30PM :tired:

08-24-2002, 10:37 PM
Janet... I just want to WELCOME YOU !!!!!! :D
This is a great place to come and feel at one with the world.
As a LARGER woman sometimes I just feel all alone even though I am surrounded by people. We definitely can relate to anything you share. Welcome !!!!!

Okay.... still haven't packed. I have got to run.
MOVE IT .... MOVE IT .... MOVE IT !!!!!

08-25-2002, 04:59 AM
Well here it is 3am Sunday morning here.
I am wound up like an old clock. LOL
Trying to get house clean, laundry done, pack, and water plants, etc before we head out first thing in the morning. Heck.. in a couple of hours. :dizzy:
I am a TERRIBLE procrastinator... but I always get it all done. :p

I am happy to announce that I did NOT listen to that inner voice of CARBMAN. He kept telling me to go ahead and eat those carbs...he said I was going to be on vacation in a couple of days... it didn't matter if I cheated now because I would probably cheat on vacation anyways. He also told me to just go ahead and eat carbs this week and next week until I got back and THEN I could start over. :nono: Carbman is soooooo untrustworthy. He will tell you anything to get you to take just that one little bite. He knows if he can seduce me into just "one taste" that I would be wallowing in carbs before I knew what hit me. :fr:

WELL... I did not fall for his sneaky, spineless gestures.
I did not eat popcorn at the movies, I did not make me that sandwich at midnight. I did not drink that REAL Coke.
I made it clean all the way to the start of my vacation.... and with this new muscle I built :strong: pushing carbman away... I will be stronger to push him out the door on my vacation. :D

LOOKOUT CARBMAN !!!! I am 2cute2Bfat and I am NOT going to let you ruin my life one more day !!!!!!

Okay.... I got a little wrapped up there in my enthusiasm..
Just wanted to say bye to everyone before I leave. My husband will be watching me like a hawk in the morning to be sure I am not on this darn computer. LOL
I don't know if I will lose any weight while I am gone.... but I do know.... This is NOT a food fest I am going on. I am going on a vacation and that no longer means I can eat whatever I want. I will eat in moderation. I will enjoy my food... not be abusive with it. I will "seek" pleasure in other ways. I will not fall into OLD HABITS. This is a New Way of Life.... and it no longer includes eating anything and everything I see or want.

I know you all will be here for each other.
We must make that special effort for each other.
I thank you now for keeping this place going until I return.
I would HATE to come back next week and find everyone gone.
I NEED YOU !!!!! :grouphug:

08-25-2002, 10:42 AM
Welcome Janet we are here for you:grouphug: and each other

2 Cute: have fun on vacation and we will be here if you need us.

I have to go shop for food. I have a Library workshop on Tuesday, but they are paying me for going so it will be ok.

I better run where is everyone. Tina sorry Tony didn't win. I'm a Dale Jr. girl myself but I don't like Jeff Gordon. Oh well better luck next race.:jig: :cb:  :dancer:

08-25-2002, 11:51 AM
Hey Ladies,

Just taking a second to post to let you know I didn't drop off the face of the planet. Hubby and I are heading into Toronto (for the second time this weekend) to see the play "Grease" right now. My old friend is actually in the play (teen angel) so it should be fun IF I can get my recovering butt moving! (We were at a Stag & Doe until VERY late last night!)

I'll pop back in later tonight.

Sara :)

08-25-2002, 01:53 PM
I posted earlier and lost it...I think I have recovered. I just hit reply too quickly....gasped, because I had forgot to copy and whoosh...gone. I wish they would fix that, so you would have a chance to recover.

Anyway, congrats to Sara; happy to see you post Janet and Baylee, we all have lost our nails before so keep trying to keep on. That was the REAL short version.

Off to read on low carbs...

08-25-2002, 02:50 PM
....................and it sure is nice to be home. I am pooped, but I wanted to tell you about the trip. So, here it goes:
First of all, it was hot as heck. We parked inside a subdivision right outside of the track. Well, not "right" outside the track...........it was about a mile and a half walk. (my legs are still killing me) We got right to the Bristol sign and of course Ron wanted his picture beside it and imagine my surprise, when I realize I forgot to load the camera with film! (it was still in the car) So, we went inside a Citgo right below the track and paid 8.36 for a pitiful roll of film.........cause you know, we just HAD to have that picture of him by the entrance.
Then, after we walked up this horrendous hill to get to the gate, right as we got there, it started raining!! By the time we got inside I looked like a drowned rat.
Anyways, between qualifying and the Busch race, we decided to go walking around the tent and trailor area and I've got a cute story to tell you about that:
At all of the races I've been to, Home Depot has this big entertainment center set up where there are some associates running a show and playing games with the fans. Well, OF COURSE I had to stop and they were just starting a rendition of "Who Wants To Be A Millionnaire?". By applause, the audience chose who, out of four contestants was to be the one to play for the prizes. Each one of the contestants had to make a sound like a cordless drill and whoever the audience chose was the one to get to answer the questions and the other three were left over to be their "phone a friend". They also got the 50/50 option and ask the audience. Anyways, a woman from Los Angelos, Ca. was chosen and they started asking questions about Tony. They were all fairly easy, (for me anyways) and then they got to the 5th question which was the bonus question. If she got this question right, she got a $20.00 gift certificate to HD, a Tony shirt and some more stuff. The announcer said, "Ok, we're gonna make this one kinda tough, so you'll have to work for this." The question was.................What is Tony Stewart's mom's name? Well, she didn't know and decided to ask the audience. By applause, we were to help her choose one out of four names. Of course, I knew that the choice (a. Pam) was the answer so when they called out her name, I was hooting and hollering and clapping. (along w/hubby) Well, you can imagine my surprise and embarassment, when he and I were the only ones cheering and clapping. Everyone around us looked at us like we were crazy. I was standing there thinking, "Alright, what's the deal? You are Tony fans and you don't know his Mom's name? HELLOOOO?" So, to continue on, the next choice was (b. Maryann) and some nimrods on the front row were cheering for this name and the the woman on the stage looked over at me and I shook my head "NO....NO" and mouthed the words....."PAM" "PAM" to her. They went ahead and gave the c and d options, which no one clapped for, and then asked her for her choice and thank goodness, she said, "Pam". Well, of course she won. I was real proud for her. My husband and I were about to continue on and I felt a peck on my shoulder, and it was her. She said, "I couldn't have won if it wasn't for you, so here." One of the prizes she had won was a youth size Tony t-shirt. She asked me if I had anyone that could wear that, and I do have a nine year old that is a big Tony fan as well, so I told her I had a little boy and she made me take it for him. I just thought that was so neat. It made my day. Well, that and the fact that I carried home a trunkload of Tony merchandise. I'll probably be eating bologna sandwiches and drinking water for the rest of the week, but it was worth it. One of the items I am most proud of is a life size Tony standup. I wasn't real happy with the way it was presented outside of the tent. They had it "decorated" with a Jeff Gordon hat on his head, a string of beads around his neck and a flashing earring on his right ear. (I let the tentowner know about my displeasure) But, you can not imagine what an addition it has made to my Tony room! It's one of him holding a can of Raviolis. I carried it almost two miles back to where we parked the car. The whole way back, my husband kept saying, "How bad have you got it?"
I had a wonderful time, I just wish I had of had tickets for the Cup race as well, but they go on sale in a couple of weeks, so I need to start saving for that, because I will be going back in the spring.
I have some pictures that I should be getting developed tomorrow and I will post some of them so you can get an idea of my "racing experience". I must say though, I missed you guys.
I always love to go to the races, but I will say it again........

:flow1: Tina :flow1:

08-25-2002, 03:15 PM
Hey TINA: You must have snuck in while I was typing my post. WELCOME BACK! Go unload the car, grab a diet pop and sit down and take a load off your poor, aching feet. Souns like you had a great time.

08-25-2002, 03:26 PM
Happy Sunday Ladies,

It's a gorgeous day and now that the house is clean I'm going to talk to you guys the take the dog for a walk.

SUSIE: Don't know if we've officially met. "Hi, I'm J-Ann ... nice to know you." I'm so glad you lost that 3 lbs. Here's some good vibes :goodvibes: for a great week ahead
for you.

HI JANET: Welcome. I'm kinda new here too. That first week "woosh" makes you feel great about yourself and what you're doing doesn't it? 6 #s ... WOW!:jig:

My friends at work DO have weight control issues but all they do is spend every break and lunch hour deciding what they're going to do to lose weight. They don't do anything about it but chew the issue to death. One will decide that this week she's sure she wants to do low carb. By the next day, another will come in with all the reasons why low carb is bad for you. Then the first researches the issue to death, tells #2 why she's right or wrong, and then they start all over on something else. I've learned the hard way to keep my mouth shut :ziplip: and not offer suggestions. I finaly told them that I would support them in whatever they decide to do about weight control but would not
comment until they actually started.

I hope TOOCUTE got off on her vacation. Sounds like she was cutting it pretty close.

MALIA: I'm going to try to do a "Why I Need To Stick To This Healthy, Lifestyle Change FOREVER List" this week too. I need to use it as a kick in the a:censored:s
to stay on program. (?Now why don't they have a kick-a$$ icon?)

Did you see we are up to 101 smiles (icons)? Remember to stay out of the :donut:, :cookie:, :cbg: and the :jeno: today ladies.

Have an awesome day, and know that someone has thought about you today.

08-25-2002, 03:52 PM
Hi everybody! I've recouperated from being :censored: about losing my post yesterday. I had a really nice day off. The youngest had gone off early to Ohio for a wedding and the oldest and DH went out shooting clays, so woohoo, a day for me. I clipped coupons and went grocery shopping and then stopped to visit with my mom for a few minutes. Not what most would find enjoyable about a day off, but it worked for me.

When the guys got back from shooting it was almost time for the Nascar Race so I had another couple of hours to myself. Went upstairs and watched The Wedding Planner on DVD and messed with the cat who had decided my bed was where he was going to sleep the evening away.

I'm enjoying my second day off by doing laundry in-between watching the Witchblade marathon on TNT. I keep setting the timer for every 20 minutes so I can run up and down for the laundry. :(

2cute: I'm glad you got it together in time to take off. I knew you would. We procrastinators always seem to get it done, we just don't get to relax before any function because we're working up until the moment people arrive or we walk out the door. You'd think one day we'd learn.

Mary: I'm a Jr. fan as well. I only posted the Gordon picture to pull Tina's chain. Here's Jr. just for us.

Steph: Good job avoiding those brownies. Way to go!!!

LuckyLadyBug: I'm with 2cute, any of those old boys still around???? :D Sounds like you've been a busy bee. That's a lot of work hauling and raking.

Susie: Congrats on the 3#'s. You're doing really well, keep it up!!

Baylee: Don't let not doing well keep you away from here. We love to hear from you regardless. And being away only makes it worse.

Janet: 6#'s is awesome! You go girl! Come by more often so we get a chance to know you. There are a couple of girls here from MN.

Sara: You party animal you!!! Sounds like you are just having some great fun this summer. Oh to be 25 again! :o

J-ann: Your co-workers sound like quite the hoot. I used to hate business meetings that went like that: talk, discuss, discuss again, research, talk some more........adjourn because you got nothing done and then schedule another meeting to do it all again. What a waste of time!!!!

Tina: Glad you made it back from the track in one piece. Sounds like you had quite a walk back to your car with Tony under your arm.

Well, girls, my little timer went off again, so it's time for another trip to the basement for laundry. Talk to you all later.

Mary, explain "steamed a cabbage"....okay, so I admit it.... NOT a great cook.... but I do know where great resturants are. I figure God (higher power; energy) wouldn't have made all these resturants if we weren't suppose to eat in them!:chef: :cheese: :apple: :chockiss: :tomato:
