I've been quiet on here for the past month or so but I've still been reading (on my iphone no less...my computer was totally spazing out so got another one! lol).

Anyways a couple of weeks ago I hit my goal! I was super excited :carrot: I would be posting pics in this post but give me a few more weeks of coming to terms with my body image ;) Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love myself!! It's just all the mental images I have in my head and what I'm seeing is throwing me for a loop

I'm also still in awe that I actually did it!! :carrot::carrot:

That's so amazing! Biggest congratulations to you! Does it feel like you thought it would? I'm guessing "no" since you're having body image issues. Maybe your brain is having a hard time catching up. I've heard that happens, though I have no experience with it yet! ;)

I'm dizzy with excitement for you! Thanks for sharing the good news!

At the end of this, I know that Eva Longoria (or some other beautiful celebrity) isn't going to be staring at me in the mirror - it will still be me. That part I can't change. All of the imperfections that I see now won't be gone. My nose is still the one I inherited from my father and my belly will probably still be a bit "loose." But I will be someone that has accomplished an amazing goal, healthier, stronger, and of course smaller.

When I graduated from college, I had these expectations that the world would just open up and adore me (not exactly, but you get the idea), every job I applied to would garner an interview and my skills would be respected in my current position. Hmmm...not much of that happenned. I woke up the next morning after graduation and it was still me. Those first few months were a strange transition. I needed time to get used to my new identity and all of that free time! I needed to rediscover who I was now that I had put so much time into school. I'm not sure all of this relevant, but my point is that when we have a huge goal and meet it, often there is a transitional let-down period. Hang on and get through it. Enjoy getting to know your new self! She's a pretty neat person who's capable of an awful lot!

And of course, CONGRATULATIONS!!

Tanee. A heartfelt congratulations goes out to you. I'm thrilled for you and your success.

I maybe understand how you feel in RE: to the body image issues. If you are anything like me you are thinking..."Okay, now what?" ;) It's like the postpartum blues without a baby to show for it. If that's the case, it gets better, and BETTER.

Congratulations again.

02-08-2010, 04:02 PM
that is such an amazing accomplishment - congrats!!!!

02-08-2010, 04:19 PM
Thanks everyone!!

Yes Lori that is exactly it!!

02-08-2010, 04:24 PM
Congratulations!! I'm very happy for you!!

02-08-2010, 04:50 PM
Congrats Tanee! You look like a million bucks but I understand where you are coming from, I can hear that all day long and it still takes time to register. All I can say is that you are not alone with the body image struggles, my hope for you, others, and myself is that it will get easier. For now you DID IT!!! Congrats again on your fab success!

02-08-2010, 05:23 PM
Awesome! Congrats!

02-08-2010, 05:27 PM
Huge Congratulations Tanee!!! It's been amazing watching your progress, and I know you will do great with maintenance.
I understand your adjustment issues, too. I felt like I was living in someone elses body at first.
I can't wait to see your pictures though, i know they will be fabulous!

02-08-2010, 05:33 PM
aww thank you Daniela :) I'm really happy and grateful that I did this for myself....everyone has been telling me I'm silly at home for even having any kind of issue no matter how small it is. I'm kinda glad I'm not alone....I don't feel as bad  I think once I get into maintaining and switch my mental mode to that things will get better.

Thank you H8! It's very surreal....mixed with the Saints winning the Super Bowl, it's like a big dream!

Thank you Mikayla!

02-08-2010, 05:39 PM
Tanee, you have been one of my biggest inspirations here (along with a few others that have posted your congrats here). You rock! I wish you the best.

02-08-2010, 05:46 PM
super :congrat:!! must feel unbelievable! :)

02-08-2010, 05:49 PM
Awesome job! I am so happy for you!

I hope to be like you someday! :)

02-08-2010, 08:11 PM
OH Tanee, I am so incredibly happy for you. You did it!!! Wow. Congratulations. It's pretty spectacular!!

It is a little surreal though as someone earlier said. There are times I'll feel like I've been this way forever and other times I'll feel like, "when did this happen?" and "am I really this small, what happened to the other me?"

It's a strange thing, that no one in my at home world can relate to. Which is why I look forward to spending many maintenance years together. It's wonderful to be able to converse with people who have/are going through the same things.

Congrats once again.

:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:

I was afraid your absence was bad news.

02-09-2010, 12:00 PM
thanks everyone!

I've been taking lots of pictures lol It's just that when I post them here and on facebook I'll be openly admitting that I'm officially done with this journey. Then I start on a totally new one with maintenance....it's a little intimidating since I have to switch over to seeing about the same number (give or take a few pounds fluctuation) every day. I'll be all gung ho about it later....right now practice makes perfect!

I have consulted with a plastic surgeon a few months ago about the loose skin on my legs. I'm an hourglass now but at my highest weight I was a juicy ripe pear  I have to maintain my goal for 2 years before they consider fixing it. It's just something I promised myself I would do for myself if I had a lot of loose skin in that area. I want to rock out a pair of shorts during the summer :D

02-09-2010, 11:24 PM

That is awesome! :congrat:

Seeing that gives me hope that it CAN be done. You just have to set your mind to it and DO it. You go, girl! So happy for you!

02-10-2010, 11:40 AM
