Default It makes me so sick..

To see what I have become. I have known now for a while that I needed to lose weight but I kept finding excuses, oh I'm too busy, oh im to this or to that.. No more. My husband was just promoted to Specialist (he is in the Army) and I was looking at the pictures of me pinning the new rank on him and I wanted to cry and throw up and scream all at once. I can not believe it, I look like a whale, he deserves someone who at least cares enough about herself to look decent. I deserve to be happy with who I am and that is not going to happen at this weight. It's time for a change and when I get to my goal weight I am going to use those pictures that made me so sick as my before and I will reach my goal! I just really need to continue being motivated. The hardest diet and exercise time for me is when its that time of the month.. then I just like fall off the bandwagon.. But not this time! I can do it. Anyways sorry to rant I was just so upset when I saw those pictures just now.

Don't focus on those pictures. They can just be discouraging. Focus on the healthy new you that will come!

Nicholealyssa, yes you can do it! I had the same experience last week, I knew I was big from weighing so much, but seeing a photo was the harsh slap of reality that was needed to get serious about this.

You know what, yeah, the picture has been taken, but picture has given you a huge motivation for a healthier lifestyle! Don't be down, we all have those pictures somewhere.

You are focussed and motivated, and there is nothing you cannot do now!

You can do it! I think we've all had that wake-up call in one form or another. Sometimes it's a picture. Sometimes it's when we realize we have to go up another size in pants. And sometimes it's when we realize that our stomach is so large and protruding so much that it's resting on the counter (this was my particular wake-up call at work).

It stinks, but if it gives you the motivation to keep going then it was a good thing! You CAN do this! And I agree that right before TOM used to be the hardest for me (I wanted to eat EVERYTHING! lol). BUT you can do it! Welcome to the board!

seeing a picture of myself at my heaviest was the wake-up call for me as well. it was a picture of me and my boyfriend at a family get-together at his parents house. his mother took a ton of pics that day..and showed them all to us when she got them developed... i saw the one of me and him and i just wanted to puke when i looked at myself. i was standing sideways in the pic, and you just could not tell when my back stopped and my butt began..same with my boobs/stomach... it was just everywhere! after we went home, i locked myself in the bathroom and cried for about two hours. after i stopping throwing a fit i got up and thats when i decided to do something about my weight. that was about 9 months ago, and since i've lost 60 pounds! i was right at 250 then, and i'm down to 190 now. 40 more pounds to go, i'm over half way there!

i know it really stinks to see ourselves that way and it hurts us so much. but instead of dwelling on it - change it! it's not going to be easy all the time, it will take a lot of work.. but YOU CAN DO IT!!! and it'll be SO worth it. just keep thinking about how you'll feel once you reach your goal. you'll be SO proud of yourself, and we'll all be just as proud for you!

You may not be happy with yourself, but that doesn't have anything to do with your self worth. Got it?

Now you have the fire lit under your butt, so to speak. Now it's time to put it into motion, which you sound ready to do!

I think we've all been upset by pictures we've seen. Even after I hit my goal I came across the picture that's in my "before and after" and had that same feeling of oh my goodness what have I done? You're not alone

Same here! I was like Wow... she's gorgeous!

But still... it's not just about looks.... it's about your health and how good your body feels! So now that you've got the motivation.... do it! Don't make excuses... just do it!
