Karla - I know there are other health issues for which people have been required to step out of the program by their centers, but I've never heard of anyone being diagnosed with cancer. I certainly hope this isn't something you're dealing with, but if it is, talk to your oncologist about what is required for caloric intake with your medications and let them know what supplements you're taking and then let the center know what they say.

My 1st appt. with the oncologist is tomorrow. I am so sad/angry b/c I told myself this was the year that I would be healthy & lose all of this weight & then I get thrown this curve ball. We shall see what the doctor says. I am very anxious b/c we do not have any children & there is a possibility that may not happen for us. My center worked with me when I enrolled about the seziure meds, etc. but I REALLY want to stay OP if I can.

Karla, I hope that you'll keep in touch with us here about how all of it goes. Don't feel like you need to disclose more info than you want to, but I hope we can support you through this too.

I just recently joined this forum. But I have found it VERY helpful. I will definitely. Keep updates here (prob this thread, if not with WI updates). I am so nervous about this appt. At least it is in the morning so I won't be worrying all day long. I am usually a HUGE emotional eater so I am having to literally keep my mouth shut lol. Thank you for letting me vent.

Good news ladies! The appt. went better then I expected. Surgery is scheduled for the 24th of this month and I will be on bed for 3 three days following that. The GREAT news though is that as of right now we don't have to do a hysterectomy. Of course once the doctor removes my cervix on the 24th it will be sent to pathology as well. Phew......thanks for your encouraging words

I'm glad it was an encouraging appt. Karla. Don't stress about food during your surgery prep and recovery time. It'll all balance out.

So I spoke to a counselor today & she said that I would probably have to be "removed" from the program. I am not happy about this at all. I should know more by next week.

That stinks.. Did they say why?? I would talk to your doctor and see what he/she says. If they say it's ok then MRC shouldn't have a problem.
