I'm not willing to give up ANYTHING! This is a new way of eating for me, a new way of life. Unless I'm willing to live without it forever.....I'm not willing to give it up while reducine calories.
I eat everything, in moderation. I do limit my intake of certain foods because it tends to trigger cravings....but there's no one food I completely cut out.

Burgers! I love them. But, I'll make my own instead of the ones from a box...worse yet, the drive thru. I'll add veggies and use whole grain bread. I still don't eat them alot (maybe twice a month), but I need that beef fix every now and then.

I'm not a fan of low fat cheese, but it's something I don't really overeat, so I don't worry about it. I don't like low cal dressings either. Blech.
Really, the only stuff I've cut out is the stuff I don't have an off switch for and it is better that way (for me). Probably the biggest example is garlic bread, or anything that features bread and its BFF, butter.

I won't give up soda completely, but I've cut back A LOT. I now have like one a week, sometimes less.

Sweet and low!!! I know it's awful but I love it in cofee, smoothies, tea, etc.
It used to be soda, but I have since given that up and don't miss it a bit!

CHOCOLATE! I don't eat the pseudo-chocolate like Hershey's or stuff filled with tons of junk (nougats, caramels, crisped rice...ick ick ick) but you'll have to tear my 80% dark Lindt out of my cold, dead hands.
And I can't stand brown rice and have kept my nice, sticky white short grain. Sorry, but an extra 2 grams of fiber per serving is not worth it to me.

Have you tried V8 veggie soups? They have some yummy looking flavors, and they're only 100cal/serving. And they're thick and creamy like broccoli and butternut squash and stuff. I haven't tried it yet, but I have a few in the cupboard.
I refuse to give up chocolate, I'm just learning to enjoy it in a different way. For example, my "treat" breakfast is chocolate cheerios. 100cal for 3/4 cups (I usually have 1 cup). They taste like Coco Puffs, lol. Also, this sounds kind of weird, but I make chocolate banana smoothies. 1 Jello Temptations pudding cups (60 cal), 1 banana, and a bit of orange juice (just makes it smoother and sweeter). Sometimes I'll add strawberries or a spoonful of peanutbutter. And then ice. The whole thing is about 200cal, it's very decadent, and it's filling and takes awhile to eat.
Mashed potatos and fries. Fortunately, I love sweet potatos, so learning how to season and prepare sweet potatos and also eating in moderation, I've been able to enjoy my spuds in a much healthier way.

It's weird I really don't mind the fat free ranch or fat free italian, I just don't notice a difference. I am with TKM I don't like brown rice at all and if I am going to have rice and broccoli for lunch I would much rather have white rice! Same with pastas, I occasionally cook with whole wheat pasta but I will not entirely give up my carb filled pasta lol also I have a glass of chocolate milk a day, its fat free milk and the 1/2 the carbs/cals/sugar chocolate syrup so its not all that bad but I loveeee chocolate milk lol

Gosh, there are so many things I refuse to give up... lol. That's probably why I'm losing so slow! A few include: Chocolate (or sweets in general), diet coke, and mexican!

There are actually very few things I did give up. I stopped drinking pepsi and eating candy. The other unhealthy stuff I just eat less of but wont give up.
Trying to give up certain food just makes me get sick of watching other people eat them and falling off the wagon.

Three words:
Original Coca Cola :o
I can't live with out it! Admittedly, I have cut right down to a can a day? But nothing tastes as good...

...butter :) How untrendy of me! Butter is not a problem for me as I use very little of it about twice a week, and I hate the taste of margarine so much I'd rather go with nothing than eat it.

I can't give up potatoes...in any form :). I like baked, mashed, french fries, chips...mmm. But I've learned to save them for special occasions. I don't need them with every meal like I used to have :). Moderation is key right?
I used to hate the fat free ranch but I tried one at a friends house and was shocked it didn't taste much different. I don't think it was the fat free version-just less calories? It was like 70 calories per serving v. 120. I wish I could remember the name and brand bc I would recommend at least giving it a whirl. I also highly recommend the 100 calorie packs because it lets you have the foods you love but makes sure you eat them in moderation. I mean if you have a bag of smartfood it's hard to stop yourself after 1 serving. But if you have a small bag of it, you'll stop when it's empty! It has really helped me...
The one thing I will not give up? Sugar! The sugar replacement stuff scares me. It just doesn't seem natural...I dunno. Plus it has a weird after taste. So I don't think it's worth it...
