When did you notice...
How far into your weight loss did you guys notice a change in your face?
I have lost 10 pounds so far, but don't notice any change in my neck or face area.

Other people noticed it first. But I believe it was after I was about 20 pounds down.
I think it depends on the individual, though. I lose weight first in my upper body, as I'm most emphatically pear-shaped. I have the neck & face & shoulders of a much more slender woman. My weight's carried mostly in my hips & upper thighs & in my calves. When I lost a lot of weight the first time around (and developed an eating disorder, but that's another story) by the time my legs & butt were whittled down to my liking, my face was gaunt & I had a tendon-y looking neck, deep collarbone hollows & ribs showing. My mother told me she'd know if I was overdoing it this time around if she got one good look at my face, even if I wore bulky sweaters over the rest of my body.

Well for me it took about 13lbs or so before I saw a difference. There was a huge difference after I lost 35lbs. See for yourself.

Thanks guys... I'm just getting impatient I think!
I gain weight evenly all over my body. I hope I will start to see some results when I hit 20 pounds lost.
Vivian you look great! Can't wait to see results like that!!

It's funny you should mention this .... two of my coworkers have lost just over 20 lbs each. One is looking much slimmer through the middle, the other through her face and neck ...
Very cool how unique we all are!

Face (the double chin disappearing) was the first place I noticed.

This is another area in which everyone will be so different.
It depends upon so many factors - how much you have to lose overall, the shape of your face, where you tend to carry weight and where you tend to lose it, your age ...
Don't be discouraged if the next person over saw a difference at 10 pounds and you have lost 20 pounds without seeing a change.
Also I find that since I see my face every day it's very difficult to notice small changes in it. For that reason, the suggestion to go back and look at old pictures is a good one.

I saw it after about 5 lbs--but my face is my signal that I have to lose weight.
All of the times that I've recommitted to losing weight is at the same weight, around 250, because that's when two things happen--I start to see a double chin all the time instead of just in certain positions, and I can no longer fit into size 20 pants, and I REFUSE to buy size 22.
So I notice in my face quickly, as the negative change in my face is the impetus to buckle down. Hopefully this time will be the last!

Here are a few photos of me. First one is at 183lbs, second one is at 168lbs, so 15lbs down. I didn't notice it until I looked at these pictures. But my face/neck area was definitely more...plump than in the second picture. (Sorry they're so big).
I wish I had kept more pictures of me at my highest weight just for comparison. I deleted all my pictures when you could see my flub obviously because I didn't want to look at it! Now I wish I had something to compare the new me too, haha.
Keep in mind that everyone loses weight differently. I seem to lose very proportionately, which is kind of nice, but at the same time, I want to see results in specific areas of my body (my stomach!), but I'm shrinking slowly evenly. Some people drop really quick from one spot before they lose anything from anywhere else. I've known people that can gain and lose the same 10lbs and I swear they gain it all in their face/neck, lol. Also if you're hyperfocusing on one part, like I focus on my stomach, it'll be harder to notice any change at all. I wasn't focusing at all on my face, but it was a pleasant surprise to see how it had changed.
ETA: I just realized I have lost 12lbs since that second picture was taken. I personally don't feel that I look at ALL different. I should take some new pictures...easier to compare, haha.

Within 5-10 lbs for me, which really shows how bloated I was. My first month the pounds came off my face, hips and rear. The second month was my face and upper body. I don't know about this month yet, but definitely not the thighs! LOL!

I'm also pear shaped, and 10 lbs down I already notice my upper looking different and bonier. The waist will take the longest for me, I'm sure. I think knowing what body type you are helps.

I'm down 15lbs and my dad made a comment about how he could see the change in my face and waist, but I don't see it... at all. I think its going to be a lot more along before I can start seeing it for myself.
I do need to keep taking pictures though, so I've got something to compare to.
