Alternachicks - So, what are you looking forward to?

So, we've talked about rewards that we give ourselves for doing well, but, what are you looking forward to doing/wearing/feeling once you've reached your goal weight? ( Or, near it. ) Don't be afraid to dream big ( Or, small! :D ), girls!

Wearing - These are all things that I love fashion-wise, but, I'm just not comfortable enough to wear most of it out in public, or in the case of boots, they just don't fit!

- Skinny jeans
- Short skirts
- Short shorts
- Socks ( Knee high, thigh high, knitted, etc. I think these types of socks are adorable! )
- Boots ( Ankle, knee high, thigh high )
- Tights/stockings ( I love them! Under skirts, under ripped jeans, under a dress, under an over-sized top. )
- Jeans that ride on the hips
- Lingerie for the boyfriend
- Corsets
- Anything absolutely outrageous
- Clunking around on heels ( LOL! Instead of shuffling/waddling/stumbling I imagine I'd do in a pair, now! I don't even OWN a pair of heels! )

Doing - I'm not necessarily unable to do anything that I really want to, but, some things just seem like they will get better with less weight! Such as...

- Sex ( New/different positions! Loving the way my body and feels looks during. Experiencing my boyfriend's reaction at the "new" me. )
- Having my boyfriend pick me up ( This will be so exciting! )
- Going out more ( I might not go out more, but, I can't wait to feel more confident when leaving the house. )
- Getting attention ( I don't mean I want to be the center of attention, I just want to experience the kind of looks healthy women get. You know. An extra peak from a guy walking by, and not because my big butt is in the way of a healthy woman! LOL! )
- Going to the beach ( And enjoying it! )
- Going for more walks ( These are all tied in with the whole more confident when leaving the house thing. )
- Getting tattoos

Feeling -
Healthy!
Fit!
Sexy!
Cute!
Alive!
Confident!
Unashamed!
Fierce!

I'm sure I'll be able to think of even more!

My aspirations are very big, and sometimes I feel a little ashamed of them. You know, you have to think realistically, and all. But, these are things that I absolutely love, and want to experience. Even if it's YEARS from now.

So, what are yours? :goodvibes

I ultimately want to be healthy, look sexier, and have more energy. I already am having more energy by being nearly 9 pounds smaller and exercising 6 days per week. As for as anything else goes, it's as below:

Clothing:
I want to be able to wear a two piece or maybe even a bikini for the first time on the beach and not be embarassed to be around my boyfriend, even though he has a BMI of 31. I feel like weight on guys isn't noticed as much as weight on girls. I just want to look sexier standing next to him.
Also want to wear at least a size 10 or smaller so that shopping will become easier.
Doing
I too want to be picked up by my boyfriend.
I want to be able to wear sexy underwear and lingerie.
I also want to feel more confident.
Oh, and let's not forget that the reason why I'm so set on losing weight this time is that I start my pathology residency in July and refuse to be the unhealthiest, largest resident. I want to have enough energy so that I can work and learn and become the best pathologist I can be.

I've always loved corsets, and when I get to my goal weight I'm going to buy myself one. Get some sexy lingerie to go along with it as well. :)

And I want to fit comfortably into my knee high boots, I love them so much but they choke my calves to death. And high heels! I'm 6 foot tall just barefoot, but I think tall, lean and curvy is so sexy. I can't wait to get some sexy, killer heels and strut my stuff around.

I want to be able to go out and jog and not have to do it at night around my neighboorhood. I'm so embarassed to have people see me running and struggling.

I just can't wait to feel sexy, energized and sexy. I've already lost 10 lbs and the difference is huge. I can't wait to see what the additional 90 lbs will be for me.

I feel like weight on guys isn't noticed as much as weight on girls.

Derailing for a minute... This is so painfully true. I feel that heavy men have it much easier.

I've thought about this a lot, actually. While pondering it one of the many times, I realized that the proof in this is right on television. There are so many shows where the main character is some fat, funny dude with a hot wife. George Lopez ( The series, not the comedy. ), Married With Children, and a bunch of others that I don't know the name of because I don't actually watch them.

I think Roseanne is one of the last times a show featured a heavy woman. You definitely don't see any shows where the wife/woman of the show is fat. ( I could be wrong about this, but, I only have basic cable, LOL! ) This doesn't include reality shows, BTW. Just sitcoms.

We have it harder in my opinion. This could also come from the whole men being more visually stimulated than women thing. Women are a lot more likely to look past someone's appearance than men are. ( Proof in the sitcoms, again? )

So, yup. Totally not fair.

I'm looking forward to having a bit more confidence. I've gone up and down in sizes a lot over the past six or seven years and at the moment, none of the nice clothes I have that I really like seem to fit me properly. I don't like myself at my current size/weight. I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror and like the way my clothes look. I am looking forward to not being horrified by photos of myself, too!

Someone reminded me of a pair of jeans that I have that I can't wait to fit into! They're a pair of Candies, size 13. Not even sure when I could wear them, last. They're really cute.

Also, I have so many cute shirts I haven't fit into in years! Those are on my list, too!

The Candies probably won't fit until around 160/150 lbs. That's my guess. At my lowest of 190 last year, they didn't fit. Believe me, I tried! LOL.

Oh I'm definitely looking forward to A LOT!

Wearing
~Shorts that go above my knees (without my legs rubbing together)
~A Swimsuit (without feeling the need to cover up my legs...I'd LOVE to wear a bikini, but that might be a goal for summer 2011, because I've got a LOT of toning to do before then)
~Pretty Dresses (I always feeling like I'm pretending to be something I'm not when I wear them now...and it's just because I'm not confident and feel like an idiot)
~Tunics and Leggings
~Sleeveless shirts
~HEELS! (even now it hurts too much to walk around in them..I'm still too heavy)

Doing
~I've always wanted to take ballet lessons...Like...point shoes...not just the little kids ballet stuff I took when I was like 5
~I'd love to be able to pull off Yoga poses without feeling like I'm going to kill myself
~I've always wanted to be able to participate in some sort of marathon event (maybe running, maybe on a bike...i'm not really sure)
~Walking into a room and feeling beautiful even though there are other beautiful women in the room too.
~Taking charge and getting what I want and knowing I deserve it.
~Just over all being more active. I'm sick of being the lazy girl who can't keep up.

Feeling
~Confident, Beautiful, Sexy, Talented, Special...and like I deserve to be happy.

I would like to not wince when I see myself in photos.

I would like to go shopping at normal mall stores that carry clothes in normal sizes... and look good wearing them.

I would like to weigh less than my husband/would like my husband to be able to pick me up (I don't know what the cutoff is for that, so that might not happen, but it would be cool if he could).

Ditto Jaime and Techno- I would like to be able to dress up in sexy costumes and look sexy (instead of chubby and slutty)!

All the clothes you guys mention is stuff my husband would LOVE me to wear, at my fattest. I'm doing this so I can feel more like the "real" me, ie have more energy and spend more time putting all my addictive energy into creation rather than destruction.

I have to admit I'm really looking forward to shopping for fashions that only go up to size 14/16, like stuff from asia, Anthropologie, things people make on Etsy, shopping bluefly.com's clearance racks.

It would also be great to be able to wear low heels all day/walk in them!

I can't wait for my bf to be able to pick me up without bursting a blood vessel! I'd also like to be able to sit on his lap without breaking his legs!

There are so many things I share with you girls, one of which I completed today - my first pair of skinny jeans! I've wanted to get a pair for a while, although I'm still really heavy and I probably don't look like the sexiest person in the world wearing them, but they look great with my favourite heels at the moment!

Anyway.. back to the list...

Wearing...
- Mini Skirts again (not short like showing my butt off, but mid thigh)
- Smart shorts (with tights underneath)
- A huge list of amazing clothes I've been hanging onto for about 5 years desperately hoping I'll fit into again
- My amazing corset style Karen Millen dress. (I've only been able to wear it once and it was tight even then)
- Sexy lingerie and night wear

Doing...
- More activity, like being able to run for the bus without dying afterwards
- Going into shops and not having to worry about wether it'll make me look fatter
- Going into shops and picking out a normal size
- Not feeling like people are judging me on my size when simply walking down the street
- Getting my huuuuge tattoo
- Being on top... ;)
- Finding my out my ring size (in the vain hope my bf will buy me a diamond!)

Feeling...
- Room in my clothes (it's already starting!)
- Air between my thighs rather than rubbing flesh!
- Less pain when wearing heels
- More confident
- Sexier

...I can't wait to start crossing things off my list :D

Wearing:
I'm really looking forward to wearing A LOT of different types of clothing and developing a sense of style, both personally and professionally. Here's just some of what I'm looking forward to wearing: sundresses with strappy sandals, bermuda shorts, fitted cardigans, skirt suits, 3"+ heels, peasant tops, skinny jeans, tall boots, trendy jackets, sleeveless shirts, etc.

Doing:
There are a lot of things that I'm looking forward to doing! Flying with lots of space to spare, rock climbing, jogging, playing tennis, shopping wherever I want, having the energy to walk around all day, and just generally doing whatever I want without my body getting in the way.

Feeling:
I'm really looking forward to feeling my actual age instead of older than I actually am because I feel so limited by my body. I am also looking forward to generally feeling fitter, stronger, and more capable in my physical abilities and hopefully having a lot more energy and motivation to do things. I know weight loss isn't a magic bullet and won't solve all of my problems, but I'm going to make an effort to use the changes to my body as a catalyst to make changes to my mind as well.

There are a lot of things I want to do, I've never been small, I've always been obese (had a heart problem as a kid and had to eat a lot of salty foods and drinks with electrolytes and couldn't do PE, and these habits followed me into adulthood).

Corsets
Skin-tight dresses
Bikini
Bellydancing costumes
Tight pleather pants
Knee and thigh high boots
Stripper heels
Jewelry and watches without extensions
Jeans
Lingerie
Thongs
Fishnets
Short skirts

Doing:
Bellydancing as an act
Stripper classes
Not weighing down the raft at water rides
Not crossing my fingers that I fit into the rollercoaster
Hike
Go shopping in a non-plus size store
Get my shoulder and hip tattoo
Actually have sex

Feeling:
Sexy
Confident
Assertive
Energetic
Healthy
Like men should be tripping over themselves to get my number ;)
Like I'm not the token "fat girl" in a group of hot guys and size 0 girls (this is not a joke, they are both size 0 and about a third my weight)
Comfortable in heels

I am still in High School and since its 80 freaking degrees outside already, everyone wears short shorts, skirts, dresses, heels, and sleeveless shirts. not me! I'm not nearly the fattest person in my class but I feel like I am the only one uncomfortable with my body. It sucks haha.
I wear skinny jeans. I really don't give a damn about what people think I look like in them. People bigger than me wear them, and I like the way I look in them haha. But yeah, I do wear skinny jeans.

Wearing:
hopefully my prom dress (next may 2011!)

skirts (I haven't worn these since I was like 10)

-Being able to tell family and friends how much I weigh or what size I am.
-Not looking down in shame anytime anyone makes a comment about losing weight. I do this a lot, if my sister starts talking about how much weight she wants to lose (she's about 140 i think), I get quiet and change the subject. Same thing with my husband (muscular guy, plays LOTS of soccer)
-Wearing cute tees and seeing stuff I like at the store and just grabbing it off the rack

Getting a Boyfriend! (5 year dry spell)

I am so with you on that one. My last boyfriend broke up with me partly because of my weight and I really want to leave obesity behind by the time I hit the 2-year mark on that disaster.

Other than that, I just want to feel healthy and kick my sweaty rolls off of my body.

All of you guys have great ones! I'm a little late, but here goes.

Wearing
Cropped jeans without looking like a perfect square
Just ONE top—I'm always wearing layers to cover up and almost ALWAYS in a cardigan
Comfy pants/workout clothes without looking sloppy

Doing
Getting tattoos is spots I'm ashamed to show now (shoulder, back...). I have one on my ankle and one on my wrist, but I'd like some that aren't as far away from my torso as possible ;)
Getting picked up by my boyfriend again (it's been 100 pounds since I dare let him try!)
Going to the beach
Riding amusement park rides (I LOVE roller coasters but for the last year I've been too afraid to try for fear I won't fit, and I KNOW I don't fit in most carnival rides)

I have alot of things I wanna do...

WEAR:
*Pin Up Girl Dresses and feel great in them
*Boy cut undies and have them boy cuts and not get lost into the nether regions

*leggings with just a shirt over it...

When I reach goal and maintain for 6 months, I am getting boudoir/pinup photos done. I can't wait to buy a corset or just a lacy frilly pair of undies. I also can't wait to wear heels again.

I love this thread! Great motivation! :D

Wearing:
-NOTHING on my calves!! I want to be able to have bare calves without feeling ashamed. ;_;
-Capri pants (they're extremely unflattering on cankles)
-Loose, flowy shirts (If I wear anything but fitted shirts, my legs look huge)
-A swimsuit WITHOUT board shorts!
-Flashy jewelery/accessories that look funny on larger bodies but cute on smaller ones
-Jeans that actually fit properly!! No matter what, when I go to buy jeans, they're either perfect in the waist/hips and too small in the legs, or perfect in the legs but too big in the waist/hips! Curse you, thunder thighs!

Doing:
-NOT being the fat one among my friends! Somehow I ended up being friends with practically nothing but good looking people. I'm sick of being the fat ugly one. T_T
-I hadn't even thought of this before reading the other posts, but I would love for my boyfriend to be able to pick me up! XD Well, he can right now, but I don't like him too just because it makes me feel really big. XP Being the same height doesn't help. I would also love to be able to sit on his lap without looking silly!
-WALKING WITHOUT MY THIGHS RUBBING TOGETHER

Feeling:
-Healthy
-Happy
-Sexy
-Gorgeous
-Like a freak... but for my personality and general quirkiness, NOT for my weight!

I've been on SBD P1 for 1 week now and my motivation has been all my super cute baby dolls I wanna wear again. I have them all hanging up in my closet just staring at me. I fit into them but you definitely DO NOT want to see me in them, my muffin top and umm, for lack of a better word, gunt.:censored: I have not dug out all my fetish attire which I know I can not get into. I have a $400 custom rubber mini dress that I miss so much, I doubt it would get past my thighs. Chokers look terrible with a double..triple chin. ugh.
So, those are some of my motivations. Luckily I kept all my tats and mods in the right places so my weight gain did not affect them.

Here's to getting Healthy!!:belly:

I could quote so, SO MUCH of what you've all said and call it my own. For me, it all boils down to being fearless again. When I first moved to this area, I visited the entire Ottawa area on my bike. The first day I took off alone and did 25 miles on the bike trails. In winter, I used to walk everywhere (didn't have enough money for the bus). I can't even walk a half-mile now, doing the groceries is torture on my back (I practically use the grocery cart as a walker!)

However, my husband and I want to take a month and hike around the Grand Canyon/Four Corners area for our 25th wedding anniversary in 2013. So that's my big, BIG goal for weight loss -- to feel well enough to be able to do that! :running:

Wearing:
I'm currently very self aware of the cellulite on the back of my thighs so I tend to wear longer shorts, longer skirts and longer dresses- once the cellulite is reduced I plan on wearing shorter shorts etc... I'd also like to wear lingerie for my Fiance and actually feel comfortable doing so, I know this is attainable. In general I'd like to feel confident wearing most things, currently I see fault in most of my body parts- that sounds pretty sad, but it's the truth.

Doing:
GETTING MARRIED!!! I plan to be at target weight or below before our wedding next Spring.
Running a half marathon next March, the training will really help, but I'd like to get to target weight before training so that the training isn't so difficult.
Showing a certain someone who doubted me that I did it.......I won't actually say anything, but I'll just feel good when this person see's me. This person has always secretly competed with me, only leading to me being more motivated.
Not feeling anxious and embarrassed each time I take off my cover up at the beach/pool.

Feeling:
Confident
Healthier
Happier
Sexy
Less anxious about wearing a bikini, enjoying shopping trips etc...

Dancing
Horseback riding
Have a pinup photoshoot
Hit on someone I think is cute, rather than always hang around scared that anyone will approach me
Cut off all my hair

Healthy

I have to admit that I'm pretty shocked reading some of these wish lists. People are saying they can't wear skinny jeans, skirts, dresses, bathing suits, etc. and people saying that they want to feel loved, be worthwhile, be assertive...It makes a bit sad because these are things you should have NOW, not 20, 30, 40, + lbs from now. I rock skinny jeans, cute dresses, bathing suits, etc. now. I also know that I am loved, worthy, and I look fierce! You guys all seem like intelligent, caring, smart women. Things like love and self worth aren't going to come magically when you reach a number on a measuring tape. I know that may sound trite but the people in your life who care about you probably think you're all of those things you wish to be. I know self-confidence is hard and you do have to work on it every day but I really wish more of you felt it.

That is not to say that I don't have my days and feel gross and unattractive but if you want to wear skinny jeans, WEAR EM. A few random people might give you the side-eye but who cares, haters to the left. Some of the most conventionally attractive women you know are probably some of the most insecure. Even supermodels have gross days.

Anyway, sorry if that sounded preachy. I actually do have a list as well. I'm looking forward to:
-Being able to run 5k's again.
-Not having shorts ride up and look like they were eaten by my thighs.
-Getting rid of the dreaded "chub rub" when I wear skirts and dresses.
-Being able to have great sex without feeling like a 78 year old chain-smoker who just ran up a flight of stairs.
-Dancing all night instead of collapsing at the banquette after 20 minutes for a water break and looking like a sweaty swamp monster.
-Being asked to go on fun outdoorsy trips and things. I think people assume since I'm fat, I won't want to go.
-More energy!
-Being more comfortable when I'm in airplane seats, buses, etc.

P.S. Ladies there are fashion blogs for the fatshionista! Also, there are stores like Faith21, Torrid, Evans, ASOS, and Target have amazing clothes in big sizes.

I want to learn to rock-climb, go skydiving or paragliding, ride horses without worrying about hurting the horse or needing a stool to get in the saddle, learn to salsa, take a pole dancing class, shop in the same stores/sections as my friends, wear sexy high heels with lingerie and not feel like an idiot on stilts, jog without getting shin splints, go out dancing with friends and not be a wallflower, and more - I know that I could do some of these things at my current weight, but I don't have the confidence. I spend so much time worrying about what other people might be thinking about "the fat girl" trying these things. As I lose, I'm also taking baby-steps in the land of building my self-confidence from within (i.e. not based on appearance), but I also know that weight loss will really help.... Just looking at my list, I get excited :D

Omg...how did I not know that Forever21 sold plus size clothes?!?!? There's even one fairly close to me that carries the faith line. Their clothes are so cute and cheap...I mean, within my budget...they may not last forever, but that's perfect if your losing weight anyways :D
