GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, I loved the message this one convey's:

http://members.aol.com/debelli/monday_morning_thought.jpg

MAKE IT HAPPEN

You can do more than just think about what you would like to achieve. You can take the focused, persistent actions that will make those achievements happen.

You can do more than just wish for a better life. You can decide precisely what would define a better life for you and then work your way steadily toward it.

You can do more than just wait for your problems to go away. You can have the courage to look straight into those problems, and find a way to transform them into opportunities.

You can do so much more than simply waiting and hoping, wishing and wondering. You can gather whatever resources you may have, combine them with your time, your energy, your commitment, and make things happen.

Ever since you were a child, you have been making things happen. It's an ability that everyone has, yet far too many people make too little use of it.

If you just wait for life to happen to you, you're probably not going to be very pleased with what comes your way. So get up, get going, take control of the great and wonderful possibilities that are indeed yours, and make the most of every moment.

Deb, great motivational message today. Something I sure need to apply to my life. Thanks!

It has been said that attitude is 90% of everything we do. I heard the following remarks in a seminar tape that I thought were very good:

You can do everything right with the wrong attitude and fail.
You can do everything wrong with the right attitude and succeed.

If you think you can't, you won't.
If you think you can, you will.

Whatever you dream, you can do.
Have the courage to believe in your potential and hold on to your dream.

Take care!

Wendy

Once again, good morning!

Was finally able to get in my walk this morning. Right after I started the new boards I grabbed my walked garb and went to start getting dressed and hear the whoosh of rain outside so had to put it off until it stopped. Didn't last too long, thank goodness. Was able to get in my 4.5 miles but it was excrutiatingly brutal out there and was hard to get in much jogging. Didn't help much that the guts were a bit sore either:^:

Continuing to do great, which makes me very happy. I know I am loosing because, though my fanny pack is still tight, it's less so these days. I'm doing everything right, and I'm exercising, so I have to be loosing. I also feel much better that I'm back to my journaling once again. I will weigh in this WIW no matter what and see what's the truth of the matter is. Can you believe, next month will be 2 1/2 years for me on this WOE-my gosh, time is just flying by!

Kids are off this week, so not sure what the plans are with them, though I don't think it will be much. Michael has his bedroom to contend with as well as writing some papers that they gave them to do over the summer that he wants to get done before school starts on Monday (yeah!!!!). Will probably just take it easy this week with them, definitely not going anywhere special, that's for sure.

GATOR, you sure can see how times and computers have changed through the years. Honestly, I really didn't think computers were around then, in an size or capacity-nor did I think you were anywhere near your age;) Hey, I came into this world just a year after your computer experience, so I'm no spring chicken myself! When in Sept are you going to NC to rough it and where? Should be nice that time of year, not too hot and not too cold.

JRED, you are one of those people you love to hate and still love! I have to admit being jealous and envious to those who are able to eat a little of something and hop right back on-just like I am of those who can eat anything and never gain an ounce while I just sit and look at something a little too long and the pound just piles on my body with the thought of eating it! Geez, some people just have all the luck;)

SEF, wow, that much depression glass, my goodness, I am in awe! I don't go looking for it, should I come across a piece at a yard sale very inexpensively I'll buy it if I really like it. I wouldn't buy glasses, something I would never use, just to buy depression glass, I have to really like the piece. I just don't have any room and have to be a bit picky. PLUS, I really don't know that much about it and could be buying a piece that's been reproduced for all I know. You, not be productive any given day-poppy cock!

SERENE, glad you liked today's MM post, I did too:D Your contribution was good and oh so true-thanks for sharing!!

Well, I'm headed to the kitchen to not only find something I want for breakfast (might make a ww muffin into pizza along with some fruit), but to try to clean up in there a bit, it's looking pretty raunchy in that sink, among other sites in there!

I'll check in later - have a wonderful day and a great week!

I'm reposting from late last night.

Debbie--Yes, they had computers, but they were not desk top models. No lap tops then. Only huge buildings, carefully airconditioned so the machine wouldn’t malfunction because of any heat. And a machine that had only about 100 K of memory took up a whole room.

We also had electricity in 1960, and I even owned an automobile.

BTW, I got the same message when I clicked on your link in the e-mail. So I just went to the 3FC website and clicked my way through to the board. It is accessable that way.

Tranquil--Je voyage en France dans Mai prochaine. I go to France next May. Actually, I think I should use the future tense here, but I haven’t learned that yet! We are going to NC in Sept. to camp--in a tent-- for a week.

Bought a package of ladybugs yesterday and sprinkled them in the butterfly garden. We had a lot of aphids eating one of the plants. And ladybugs love aphids for dinner!

Well, gotta go out and do my walking. It's high 80's today in Fla. Pretty nice. Usually this time of year it's high 90's. I think all that rain has kept our summer temps down a lot. We are cooler than some of our neighboring states to the north. I didn't do much walking last week because we worked a ton in the yard. It rained so much that the yard guy got way behind. So we did lots of weeding, cutting, trimming. Now the yard looks great and he can get back on track since the rains have eased off a bit. Lots of exercise for me, but just not the walking kind.

Happy Monday? Is that possible? :)

This might sound bad but something that's keeping me motivated is my girlfriend . And she is my best friend so this might make me sound like a not so great friend.
Anyway, she started Weight Watchers in June and has lost only 10 pounds.
She does good all week but come Friday she's sucking down the Bacardi Silvers and eating pizza and whatever else she wants.
We all eat out together at least twice a week, me my girlfriend & our husbands.

They keep goofing on me because I grill the waitress about my food to make sure it's legal.
I won't drink anything but water or brewed ice tea with my Splenda and they all order beer or other alcoholic type stuff. They over eat and complain about being to full and they feel like crap. I don't say anything but I feel great because I stay on plan. My friend is complaining because she stays on Weight Watchers all week and isn't losing anymore.

I am biting my lip because I mentioned once that all the junk she does all weekend ruins what she did all week and she got pissy.
So all the "Oh just have one drink- one piece of bread-one bite of my pie" remarks from everyone is keeping me on track and seeing my friend sabotage herself constantly is keeping me going.
I hope that once she see's how good it's working for me she'll switch over to SB. Until then I'll just zip my lip.

Morning everyone!

Whew--what a weekend! I went to Birmingham Friday night--stayed for a seminar all day Sat. Got home about 9 pm sat. night and then was in charge of my church's rally day festivities all day yesterday. I was some kind of tired when I got home! Also my eating wasn't all that great. It was one of those things where we were served boxed lunches that were ALL starches--no place to get anything else. Then yesterday--I tried to do as little damage as possible. This morning, I'm back on track.

I wasn't about to look at any boards after my post Friday morning--I know it was down a lot of the weekend--I hope everyone did ok!

Gator--Where in NC will you be camping--and when? I'll be in Montreat the 19-22 for a church retreat. I'll looking forward to the cooler temps!

Serene--Like the motivational sayings! Good start for the week.

Deb--it's nice to see that Michael is still with us :s: ! Gld to hear that fanny pack is getting looser.

Have a good week everyone!

Hi All - I have such a busy day today....work could not even wait for me to get in the door before slamming me...oh well, job security! Meanwhile, I have a nice salad of spring greens and tomatoes for lunch with a handful of triscuits with cheddar cheese for a snack - I did not have time to have breakfast - so I am going to have a snack in a minute of sliced turkey.....

Hope everyone has a good OP Monday! Sabrina

good monday morning,

just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a happy legal week! my losses have been so slow and even with dropping 2 pounds last week i still get frustrated that i am not losing faster. however, i was hitting the sales this weekend and picked up a pair of capris and a jumper, the clerk asks if i would like to try them on and as usual i say no because i am sure they will fit as this is the size i have been all summer, so i bring them home and THEY ARE TOO BIG!!!! so the moral to the story is stay focused and be patient!

will be having a chick day with sarah , out for a legal lunch and errands. the kids are having a teacher holiday, how can that be necessary after only a week and a half of school?

i will be going over to see zsuzsu and her baby next week, they are doing fine, i am planning on taking her a nice OP lunch. she is still planning on doing the WDW marathon in january!

are all you football fans counting down to kick-off labor day weekend? we will be going to some local high school games until UCF has their first home game on 9/28. it looks as though jeff will probably medical redshirt this year so no travelling with the team. he is busy rehabbing that knee and with classes starting today he will stay busy.

hope everyone has a losing week!

Hey all - happy Monday.

Dan was sick all weekend, so we didn't do much. :(

My surgery's in just over a week, so I'm getting nervous. I'm sure it will be fine, but it's still a big thing in my life.

We got our wedding invites out in the mail today. Only 47 more days to go! :D

That's about it for me. Gotta run!

Happy Monday Gang!

I've been working on this post all morning and just now getting around to posting. I had to leave and do a closing on our house. We refinanced. it was quick, just signed my name 150 times.

I cleaned out my pantry over the weekend. I found a bag of potatoe chips. Boy did I want them. But I was afraid one bite would turn into the whole bag. I left them alone and left them in the pantry in case DD wanted them. IF she doesn't eat them soon, they are going. Too much temptation. Had a good weekend. Sorta of lazy. Not much going on other than the bridal show with DD. As I watched all of the fashion show brides, I wondered how in the world am I going to get through that. I am so emotional anyway. I will need many valiums. Anyone have any to spare??? LOL

Deb, Oh no, that was you calling!! My DD went to answer and said anyone know someone from Miami (caller ID) never gave you a thought, she thought it was a salesman. Sorry. I'll give them a heads up. I was gone the first time though. I'll be waiting for your next call. Good MM today. It's only up to us, no one else. We are the only ones that can do this. We can make it happen. Glad you are still doing great. You are back on track and will stay there I' sure.

Sef, Even if you don't know the pastor, it still gives you someone personal to pull for. We had a guy from Ky on Survivor about 2 shows ago. It was neat.

Serene, liked your MM tidbits. They are so true.

Gator, Exercise is exercise. It's good to use other muscles too. I didn't know you could buy ladybugs. That is very interesting.

Cherylco, I don't think you're bad. I have a friend who does the same thing. Every Monday they start some diet. Only by the weekend they have blown it. Only difference is they don't give me a hard time. Just the opposite. The bad thing about your friend is she is wasting her money with WW if she is going to cheat on the weekends. I hope your DH is not giving you grief. If so, tell him to be more supportive. He is going to reap the benefits. Keep up the good work.

Fillise, Sometimes you don't have a choice on what to eat. Just make the best of it and go from there. The main thing is to get back on track ASAP. Sounds like you were super busy. SLow down today.

Tranquil, You know what they say about busy hands. At least you won't be able to dwell on eating. Hope it gets better

BKM, Try not to let the scale rule you. (Iknow it's hard), but you have proof with smaller size. That is an accomplishment. To heck with that scale. Sorry DS won't get to play this year. I know he was looking forward to it. I hate for summer to be over, but I do like my football and basketball.

Jenn, Boy you wedding is getting so close. It sure went fast (probably not for you though). Hope Dan is feeling better. Sometimes is good not to do "anything" for a change. Try not to worry about your surgery. It will be a piece of cake. The only legal cake.LOL Good luck.

Have a great day. Hope to check back later.

OOOO EEEEE I'm here... Tried earlier and couldn't get on.. Howdy everyone I'm glad to be here.. Whole new week and I managed another day on my Treadmill. Wow whats going on with me? I'm OP and doing great... Hope to have a good weigh in this week.

Debilli-Love your motivational and thank you for putting it on. It really hit home for me... Your post makes me smile because you sound so much together now.. Congradulations on the week going so well.... Thats such a good feeling.

Serene- I enjoyed yours to and really believe if you can dream it you can do it...

GatorGal- Oh a trip to France to look forward to... How absolutley wonderful... But I sure didn't understand a word of your french but it looked good... LOL.. Those ladybugs should do the trick on your garden. I'll bet its beautiful..

cherylco- It helps to have someone trying to lose weight at the same time. And you're setting such a good example that maybe she will catch on to what shes doing wrong. Usually when people know they aren't eating right they don't want to hear about it. I have to be really careful around my sister.

Fillise-Sounds like you sure did have a busy week-end. Whew makes me tired just reading it.. Glad you hopped back OP after all is done, good luck this week..

Tranquil- What a nice Op day of eating you have planned and it made me want a good salad for lunch so think I'm going to make one. Don't work to hard...

BigKnightsMomma- Congrads on getting into a new size... I've heard it said when it comes off slow it stays off better... Congrads on your 2 lbs. last week...

Jenn in MN- Sorry Dan is sick. Hope he's better today. Praying for your surgery. I know nothing will take the nerves away.... Wow that wedding is sure getting closer and closer...

Well guess its time to go fix me a great big salad and take a little nap... Have a great day....

Hi y'all. I've survived half of day one.:) Of course, I didn't have kindergarten today. The kids are all excited about starting back so it's been a good day. I'm sitting here munching carrots trying to stay away from the snack machine.

DEB: The reason Dennis doesn't like my hair cut is that it's SHORT!!! I love it this way. He doesn't. Sorry, you lose. Sarah is headed toward the hair cutting profession. She practiced on Maggie last week. Maggie now has bangs that she didn't have before. I was not happy to say the least.

JEANIE: I'm jealous that you've got a few more days left. Enjoy them.

FRUIT: How's it going for you?

My lunch time is about over, so I better go. Check y'all later.

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!

OK all you HOTROD MAMAS!!! What does
the term "I think you've thrown a rod"
mean? Sounds $$$$$ ....is it?
He said all the belts were fine, but my battery was dead...I said "HOW CAN THAT BE...IT'S A BRAND NEW BATTERY!!!!"
Then I told him that when what I thought was the belt breaking, I likened it to "imagine that the fan belt broke but was still going round and round but flapping against the hood every time it came around" That's what it sounded like...then the car went dead..
wouldn't turn over.....AT ALL!!! They had to come get it on a flat bed wrecker this morning...
He said he would call me in the morning....:?:

Jackie....I would be REALLY surprised if Deb calls you before Saturday...her free minutes are on the weekend.
You just wait...when DD starts trying on the dresses...it won't hit you until she comes out in THE DRESS!!!

Speaking of SURVIVOR...one of the girls is from a little hole in the wall town in the mountains of TENNESSEE not too far from where the 3 HEAD CHICKS reside.

Finally managed to get on the board and read posts! These new boards looks weird. It's been really hot here, everything is dying (big tress, not just grass). Hard to convince even the dog to go out for a walk.
Happy back to school, all you teachers. Kids don't start here for another week (!!) and the end of summer boredom and antsiness has set in. I can't wait to get back to MY normal routines. LOL, the loving mother.
I'm still at the exact same weight as last January- I've dropped about 9% body fat, but have been completely stalled for the last 5 weeks. Partly getting sloppy on the eating, partly I don't know what. Once school starts and I get done with an upcoming 5 day road trip (unfortunatly not vacation) it's time to get serious and figure out how to get off of this plateau.

BOB- Yeah- Thrown a rod is bad. That happened to my old minivan and I had to replace the entire engine. It kind of exploded leaving parts all over the road, big hunks of metal. The only funny part about it was I was real near home early in the morning and called dh, told him the van had died. He came along with his TOOLBOX about the same time as a guy who stopped to help was handing me a bucket full of my engine. the good samaritan laughed and told dh that van wasn't going anywhere unless he had a rebuilt engine in the toolbox. Hope you can patch it together....

Sorry about no time to post to you all personally, gotta run.

Happy Monday Everybody!!!

Hope you all are having an absolutely wonderful beginning of the week. I, personally have been somewhat sleepy, but that’s not such a big deal. I was really tempted to eat something illegal today. I even thought about it. It was those darned nutri-grain bars. I told Paul to take them to softball and keep them in his car if he didn’t get them all eaten at the game. Whew!!! They were getting way too much of my brain time.

Hey, I like the new board look. Kind of a sci-fi thing we’ve got going here.

For my motivational thought, I want to quote my favorite artist Mary Englebreit. Last Friday’s calendar said: WORRYING DOES NOT EMPTY TOMORROW OF IT’S TROUBLES. IT EMPTIES TODAY OF ITS STRENGTH. That motivates me to try to stop worrying about things I cannot control and to just be okay. If I’m doing the best I can do, I should have nothing to worry about concerning my weight loss.

MUSIC---Way to go on getting through your first day at school. And keep on munching those carrots. What a good idea to bring a legal snack with you.

TONI---Hey, girl, sounds like you are burning rubber on that TM. Way to go!!! I am so proud of you. Be sure to post each day’s activity on the exercise board. That helps me get moving when I know i get to post there. I got up at 5:50 this morning, but could not get moving. Decided to sit on the couch and read my email. That’s NOT an aerobic activity. HA!!!!

JACK-K---Just keep giving those nasty old chips the cold shoulder. They are NOT your friend. Just keep saying that to yourself. My confession is that I used to LOVE potato chips. No kidding. I could easily down a bag in record time. So I know how hard it is to pass them by. I’ve never taken valium, but if I had any leftovers, I would give them to you. You will make it through the wedding. It will be beautiful. Just be really present and happy.

JENN---Hope ou breeze through your surgery. Try not to be nervous. We are all saying prayers and sending you good thoughts. Hang in there!!! Your big day is r ight around the corner. Goodie for you two!!!!

BKM---Excuse me, but did I hear you complaining about losing two pounds last week?????? I’m just teasing you. I know it’s frustrating when you want it so badly. But you know the weight will come off. Just stick with it, girlfriend. Even though the scale may be stubborn, something great is happening. Your clothes are getting too big!!!! AWESOME!!!!! I’m so happy for you. I loved the moral of your story . . . just what I needed to hear!!!!! Please tell Zsu I send my congratulations for her new baby. I hope both mommy and baby are feeling great.

FILLISE----Don’t you hate when the carbohydrate addicts plan lunch? I sure do. You would think that the powers that be would get a clue that those starchy carbs are not the “in” thing to serve these days. Let’s start our own little campaign for a different type of boxed lunch.

CHERYL----Hey, I say “whatever it takes” to get the motivation. I think you are so smart to just keep working away. You know it’s not good to keep jerking your body around. And that’s exactly what your friend is doing. I’ll bet her digestive system is cursing her for the on-again, off-again type of eating she’s doing. Just keep it up and don’t give in to the temptations. You are doing GREAT!!!! And you will have the first and last laughs!!!

GATOR----Do you have buddleia in your butterfly garden? The other name for it is butterfly bush. I’m not sure if it grows in FL, but it’s a great attraction for the butterflies and I know why. The scent of the blooms is so sweet. We have a beautiful purple one and we get a ton of different butterflies every summer. There’s also an orange plant called butterfly weed. I think the latin name is something like aesclepia or something like that. I’ve never grown that one, but it’s supposed to be a good one too. I love butterflies. I also so a hummingbird last week out sniffing at the salvia on my deck. That was a nice surprise. Do you have hummingbirds in FL?

DEB----I’m so glad you are back on track and feeling great. That’s awesome. Isn’t it so much better when we are doing what we know is right. I like the way you judge your losses by other things like the tightness of your fanny pack. I always can tell a good morning by the looseness of my diamond ring. I can now wear it all the time 24-hours a day. I used to only be able to wear it for a few hours in the daytime. If I had left it on all night before there was no way I could wrestle it off.

SERENE---I liked your motivation thoughts today. It’s so true about how important our attitudes are. That’s what makes this group of people so important.

BOB----I hate car troubles and I hate that you are having them. Get a second opinion. Trust no one. That’s all I know. I don’t know about rods or throwing them. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Take care everyone. Catch you later.

Quilter--Yes, we have buddleai davidii or butterfly bush. I am gonna try to find butterfly weed to add it. Our buddleai is purple also. Very pretty. It is the dog days of summer here in FL for growing stuff. It is too hot to have much of a selection of flowers for planting. In September I'll be able to find some plants I've been looking for. We do have hummingbirds here in FL, but I've only seen one in my garden about a month ago. He was after the tall red pentas, which is also a favorite of the butterflies. The wasps have been attacking the caterpillars something awful. In fact, I think the wasps are the major culprit for decimating the caterpillars. Any suggestions anyone?

My DH is really starting to notice my body shape is changing. He is happy I'm doing something because all the weight is driving me nuts. He just misses the white bread. The kids won't even eat it anymore! They've been listening to me talk about the evils of white food and I brought them Wonder stone ground whole wheat bread and they love it.
They don't like my Ezekiel bread.

The board was ornery with me tonight and didn't want to let me on the sugarbusters board. Had to wait a while and try again.

Glad to see everyone starting a new week with positive outlooks.

Deb: Ditto what Toni (I think) said about you sounding like your old self. It's great to have your perkiness back on board this ride.

Quilter: You always sound perky, too. I bet you are loads of fun to be around.

Serene: How are you doing?

Fellise: Is Alabama politics like Texas? We are having a nasty govenor's race. It's not even Labor Day and we are slinging so much mud, everyone's sick of the ads. There's no telling how much money they are spending.

Tina: Glad you survived the first day. Our music and p.e. team teach for the specials class, but they don't take kindergarten. With over 600 kids, they don't have enough time in the day to see them and be able to do anything of substance with the rest of the kids. I get to see each of the 4 classes one day a week for 30 minutes, tho :fr:

Jack-K: You go ahead and cry, hun. And we'll be crying right along with you. I can't even listen to a choir sing without tearing up. And I'm singing in the choir most of the time. :p We held our 150th anniversary at church yesterday and I had to hold back the tears while playing my violin so I could read the music. I did cry when we sang the chorus "Shout to the Lord": I just can't help it.

Jenn: You are in our thoughts and prayers as your surgery nears. You'll be up and about again in no time!:hat:

Cheryl: You go girl, keeping yourself OP while your friend can't. It's sad that she can't get herself motivated to do the things she needs to in order to be successful with WW. You keep being that positive influence.

BOB: The rod is part of the engine, and I am so sorry for you. We had to have a rebuilt engine put into one of our cars once. OUCH!
Who are 3 head chicks????? Our web site owners?

Mel: So glad you checked in. Our school district is probably the last one in Texas to start this year. The kids first day isn't until the 29th. I have 2 days of inservice this week, then start full time next Monday. It feels really strange not to be working.

Toni: You're doing great with the TM, but I echo the sentiments: Don't push too hard. You don't want to hurt yourself.

BKM: Give Zsu-Zsu our best and congrats about her new baby. Hope your son's rehab is successful.

Gator: I wish I could hide in your suitcase when you go to France. I love the French language, took it 2 years in HS but never grasped it. Conjugation of verbs killed me.

Hey all you Canadian Gals: How's the weather up there? Hope you all are doing splendidly this week!

Missy: How's it goin' teacher girlfriend?

I hope we all have a great week. The scales are up, and I'm having lower ab pain, so we all know what that means! I hate this every 3 weeks cycle. I'm more than ready for it to stop.:s:

Check you later!
Take care,

Happy Tuesday Gang,

Looks like I'm going to be busy at work today, darn the luck. Got to bed late last nite and didn't sleep well, so I passed on my walk this am and will get it in tonite along with my workout. :sp:

We have a little league team from Louisville in the LL World Series and tonite we play a team from NC. Don't we have someone from NC on here? They have really done well and everyone is pulling for them.:cb:

Bob, I think you are in for big time $$$. I don't think throwing a rod is good. Hope you get some good news. We have started trying on dresses. It really didn't bother me at that time, I think we were so frustrated with finding something to fit that I didn't think about her in the dress.

Mel, I know what yu mean, I need routine too. Hope you can jump start yourself off the plateau.

Quilter, WTG on passing up the Nutri-grain bars. But honestly, I wouldn't cheat on something like that. It's going to have to be a lot better. You're right though, when you want something, it really consumes your whole mind. It is so crazy how we let ourselves do that. For what, food. I liked your MM post. Worrying is such a waste. I try to tell myself that alot. You may not have gotten any aerobic exercise but your finger got a good work-out. LOL

Cherylco, I'm glad your DH supports you. WTG on getting your kids to eat WW bread.

Jred, I dont think we should be together. I cry over commercials on tV, songs, cards, even some words. I'm really bad and my DD is worse (if that is possible). So if we were to ever get together, we would need lots of tissues. LOL:stress:

Have a great day everyone. Hope to check back later.

My Tuesday Tip is this: Don't install 50 lb pressure piping into your well when the actual pressure you use exceeds 70 lbs!!! :fr:
The previous owner of our home obviously didn't know what he was doing :?: and was extremely cheap! We had house guests from Ontario over the weekend during a heat wave and on top of it all the pipe burst and we had no water! :dz: They were very good about it  but we certainly didn't rank as a 5 star hotel for them. That is all fixed (with 100 lb pressure piping) and back in order now though. Company is gone and eating is straightened out yet again.

I love the look of the board now. I found it through the homepage and actually discovered a few other things I will want to take a look at.

JRED- Us Eastern Canadians are doing wonderful today because the heatwave broke and we have had a little bit of rain for the first time in nearly 3 weeks. We really needed it! Every 3 weeks  I bet you are ready for that to stop!

CHERYLCO- You are doing a great job of losing and sticking to SB. Isn't it a wonderful thing when our DH's *see* our accomplishments? One of my kids still loves and longs for white bread but doesn't get it. When we go out to eat she always orders it...she thinks of it as a treat now.

KIMMYTHEKID- Where are you at these days?

FRUIT- Did you ever get back to me about your baby Amazon?

MELIRIS- You have done such a fantastic job of losing weight and then losing BF. You have really worked for it and I find your results motivating. Keep going because you know you can outlast this stall.

TONI- Just saying hello to you  you are going to town on that TM :cb:

Gotta run, I hear the washing machine has stopped working so I better start!

Hey everyone,

Another busy day for me, but thought I'd pop on and say HI. I have my pre-op appt. with my Dr. today. Oh joy. :p

This week, I have to find a strapless bra/corset thingy to go under my wedding dress, a slip, and shoes. I hate shopping!

We've started planning the rehearsal dinner, and Dan's mom has offered to pay for it! I know it's "traditionally" covered by the groom's parents, but I didn't think she'd actually offer, so it was a nice surprise. :)

That's about it for now. I have to get down to visit the puppy today, after I see the Dr. That's always a joy - playing with the little furball. ;)

Hugs,

Jenn

p.s. to Cherylco - do your kids like the sgww Wonder bread? My SS hates the Nature's Own bread we're using, and I'm trying to find something he won't glower at in disgust.

BOB – I hope for your sake that it is not as bad as having “thrown a rod”!!!!! That is “time to get a new car” or “new engine” – either way it is a lot of $$$$$$$$

Meliris – Well 9% body fat lost is a good loss! Even if the weight is not showing a difference… but I hope that you are able to get yourself on a losing weight groove, those plateaus can be a real bummer! Though the fact that you have improved means a lot even if the scale does not show it - or you can see it by the scale has not gone up!!! :strong:

HeartMom – send me some soup! That sounds yummy to me, especially on this wet and miserably depressing day!!!! :T

Quilter – Good Quote! Do you have the Engelbreit magazine? I love it, it was a gift from my mom – love the art work as well. Hope you were able to get Paul to remove the illegal bars from your reach!!! :flow1:

Gator – Bon Jour!!!! Tough cookie you are, camping in a tent! Hope you have a great time and enjoy the fresh air!!! :D

Cherylco – It is such a great ego boost when someone notices the positive changes in your figure! Good for you – and good for getting the kids eating healthier!!! :)

Jred – I am right there with you having sympathy problems for your TOM – hahaha!!!! They say women who spend a lot of time together tend to cycle together – I wonder if that is true for the Board? Deb needs to do that for a poll – what is your date for TOM…hahaha

Jack-K – You are right, busy hands cannot feed my face – hahahaha – I am doing well – made a chicken salad with curry and spices, chopped apple, grapes, celery, red onion and mixed it up with a little Light Mayo – to be eaten with whole wheat pita bread this afternoon at my desk….. I just hope I don’t get curry all over my papers! Good luck to your little league team! :D

Gracious – What a nightmare!!!!!!!!!! :fr: Glad it is all fixed though! I just love the new icon of the dancing banana – hehehe – it is too cute!

Jenn – YOU HATE SHOPPING???? That’s awful!!! What traumatic event would turn you from such a fun event – Just kidding!!! I hope you find what you need without hassle….. :D

Well I need to get back to work here at the office and some time today I have to go register our office for Costco....Yuch - the weather is icky and I hate the idea of going out in it.....

Good morning everyone. Just got done with my morning oatmeal. Should have hit the treadmill first but will do it all backwards today because I slept in. We had a storm last night and I guess I didn't even hear the rain. But oh I'm glad we got some. Guess the reason I like fall so much is the month of Aug. is so yucky that by the time it comes I'm ready for some better weather.

music teach-Congrads. on getting through your half day. Now on to more more. Keep munching them carrots!!!

Jack-K- Hey there girl how ya doing... Hope you get your work out in this evening. I'm bad to cry on things like commercials, songs etc. too.

Bob- I thought if you threw a rod your car was pretty well ready for the graveyard. Bad thing!!!!!! Oh no Bob it can't be..

meliris- Get back OP!!! TODAY....... 9% body fat sounds pretty good though... The end of the summer for those little ones is sure hard on the Mommies..

heartmom-LOL They called it 16 beans cause thats how many sounds you get afterward!

The Quilter-Good for you sending the nutri-grain bars away. I sure don't why we pick one such thing. Love your motivational and I really agree with it.. Guess you did butt aerobic's this morning. Maybe this evening when its cooled a bit you'll feel like a little stroll... Just getting up at 5: would be a major feat for me...

Gatorgal- I'll bet the butterfly bush is beautiful. We'd have lots of hummingbirds if I would have gotten my feeders out this year....

Debilli- Hope you had a good nights sleep...

cherylco- Yea for your DH noticeing you are losing. That makes you feel so good. I couldn't give my Ezekiel bread away.. But I don't buy white bread anymore but do get the stone ground wheat bread.

jred- Thanks for the support about the treadmill. I'm going to stick to my 15 min. for awhile. It seems thats just right for me now. Everyone does sound positive this week. Makes me excited...

gracious- Know how those well problems can be. I had a snoody sis in law for her first visit here and the power went off due to a storm. No electric no water from the well. Meanwhile my little housedog went out and rolled in a dead animal and came in stinking to high heaven and of course no water. Luckly we had a wood stove for heat and I was going to fry some fish on it and my sis in law saids shes hates fish. So no way did I get out the crab dip I'd made....I think she didn't have a good visit here... LOL..

Jenn in MN- Good luck on your pre-op. What a nice thing for Dan's Mom to pay for the rehearsal dinner.... Enjoy that shopping trip how many times do you get to find under things for a wedding.. LOL

Well time for me to go. Everyone have a good OP day........

Here is a little Tuesday Tip I just received. Hope it is helpful:

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK ALONE

If everyone who gets this sends it to 10 people, you can bet that we'll
save at least one life.
Let's say it's 6:15 p.m. and you're driving home (alone of course),
after an unusually hard day on the job. You're really tired, upset and
frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest
that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are
only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home; unfortunately
you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far. What can you do?
You've been trained in CPR but the guy that taught the course neglected
to tell you how to perform it on yourself. Since many people are alone
when they suffer a heart attack, this article seemed to be in order.
Without help, the person whose heart stops beating properly and who
begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing
consciousness. However, these victims can help themselves by:
Coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.
A deep breath should be taken before each cough. The cough must be deep
and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.
A cough must be repeated about every 2 seconds without let up until help
arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the
heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart
also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can
get to a hospital. BE A FRIEND AND PLEASE SEND THIS ARTICLE TO AS MANY
FRIENDS AS POSSIBLE. IT MAY SAVE THEIR LIFE.

Hi y'all. Made it thru the first day of school and my hair isn't any grayer. Today that has probably changed since I had K's today. We have some that are still four years old since our cut off is Sept. 1.:fr: Got in my 2 mile WATP this morning. Went in the kitchen after to fill up my water jug and found the counter covered with ants.:stress:Glad I didn't find them till after my walk. I probably would have skipped it.

BOB: Sorry to hear about the car.

GRACIOUS: A busted pipe??? Not a fun way to spend the day, but especially with company.

Time to go check on the kids at lunch. James and Sarah were both so excited when they got home from school yesterday. They both love their teachers and had a great day. I hope it lasts.

I have to share my news - it is a big accomplishment to me - though probably might even be silly to others....what can I say, I am silly!!! I HAVE QUIT DRINKING DIET SODA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is none in the house! There is none in the car! There are none on my grocery list! And I am treating them as though I were quitting smoking! No Diet Sodas anymore!!!!! Yeah!!! If there is no tea, then there is always water! Now I can use the banana - hehehe
:cb:

Well I thought I would keep trying to catch up on the board so as to not get so far behind again!!!

Toni - You are doing great with the treadmill!!! Do a few minutes for me please! I love Fall as well - and Spring... Winter here is not too bad either...but Fall is my favorite! Love Fall clothes!!

Music Teach - AWWWWW I love little kids :) but you are a saint to have the patience for a room of them, hehehehe :D Sorry to hear about the ants - ugghhh - such a pain in the rump to get rid of as well.....Hope the kiddos keep on liking school, My DS is still very happy with his new school!

Well I need to get going to Costco....Hasta Luego!

Just having a coffee break so I popped on again. I must say, things are getting back to normal now that hubby is back to work and not lurking over my shoulder!

JENN- I remember when I had to buy that same kind of bra/corset thing for my wedding dress. That was more than 13 years ago and it cost me 70 dollars plus tax! Hope you get a better bargain than I did...of course that was Canadian Dollars and we all know what those are worth nowadays.

JACKK-I sent that Heart Attack thing to my Dad. I hope he never has to use it but I thought he should have it just in case. Thanks.

TONI- That is quite a story about your houseguests. Ours were very gracious...gracious? :o hehe...They were such a joy to have even in the midst of our troubles.

MUSICTEACH- Seeing you mention the WATP tapes is making me think I better stop talking about it and actually start doing them again. Thanks for the reminder!

TRANQUIL- I love that grooving banana too!! :cb: :cb: :cb: I know I will be using him alot! I think that is fantastic about the diet pop. We can do so much better without it. Less chemicals in our system and more water can only be a good thing.

I guess coffee break is over for me. :dz: Better go.

Howdy! I sure did miss ya'll when I couldn't get to the board. I had a great weekend. Had some good shooting. Yesterday I went and shot dart for a little bit and only missed 3 deer...that was really good for me. *smile* I even hit more 10 point scores so I was bouncing off the walls.

This morning I spent most of my day working on a website for a friend..in case you would like to visit it's: http://geocities.com/marnellspal/index.html She has an awesome spirit and it shows in her writing.

You should smell this brisket...the whole house smells delicious. I made a marinate of apple cider vinager..a little olive oil..splenda..and garlic. It's been cooking for about 3 hours. From the looks of it 30 more minutes and just letting it rest in the hot oven will do the trick. Gonna make some nice veggies and rice and gravy. Lunch today was just some turnip greens (but I'm full) so that sounds like a wonderful supper.

Tranquil..how is that foot? Yeah on no more diet sodas!!!! You will be amazed at how much better you will shed water. It's a major swelling food.

Wendy..how are doing now that you have your own space back? Praying for you both.

Deb..sounds like you are doing wonderful. What ever you gained I'm sure it will be saying adios in no time.

Music..Fruit and all the other teachers. ((hugzz)) Thanks for the job you do. We home school but I remember the days of getting the kids through the school year. We had good and bad teachers. :) Ya'll do impact their lives. Thanks again.

Jack-K was it you with the chips? I have done so good with only eating a chip or two..but I went wacko the other day. I've found that all my little just a taste are starting to add up..so I've taken away all my liberties till I get myself lined back out.

Jenn...wow your wedding is getting so close. I didn't realize the surgery was so close to the big day. Praying all goes well on all fronts.

Toni...keep up the good work. Glad you found the ants after....they weren't going anywhere. :)

Cherlco...you aint bad at all. You are doing and being healthy. It would be nice if your friend could get it she is hurting herself but since she isn't...get your motivation from her lesson. A lesson you won't have to go through.

Merlis...maybe its coming off so slow because you are almost at the best you for you. Does that make sense? You have done so great and I'm sure if there is something you are missing you will figure it out.

Heartmom...yum..I love bean soup.

Gracious..sorry about the pipes but glad you were able to get them fixed.

Well as much as I hate missing some of ya'll I always do. Love and hugs to all.

Love,
Crystle

I'm so mad. I had a nice long post going and my computer "dumped its memory" and I lost it.

Oh well, this is going to be shorter b/c it's time to go home and I need to do soemthing with 10 chicken breast I cooked???:?:

mUSIC, Glad you had a good first day. Those little ones can be a handful, especially if they cry for their mamas. I have had ants too. They are so tiny. Can't get rid of them. Got any ideas.

Tranquil. That is an accomplishment. Good for you. I hardly ever drink soft drinks any more. I really love tea, but didn't think you were supposed to drink in in liue of water??? I'm making chicken salad tonite too. How much curry do yu put in yours?

Gracious, Glad you liked the heart attack thingy. Now if we can only remember it when we need it. Hopefully, we won't need it. What a mess you must have had with your pipes. Glad they got fixed quickly.

Jenn, Make sure you get some comfy shoes. DOn't want your feet hurting on that big day.

Country, Good going on your shooting. You are becoming a pro quickly. Yes it was me with the chips. I need to stay away from them.

Toni, I just read that if you have carbs and water before you work out, it helps burn the fat faster. I say burn , baby, burn.

Have a great nite. Hope the scale is good to everyone tomorrow. It should be with all the people doing the challenge.

Hope to see you at chat tonite.

Evening All:wave:

Got home a little bit ago and thought I'd try and get in a post, or at least part of one before I go to this meeting tonight. Have to leave a bit earlier than I normally would as I need to drop ELI off at SB to do a few things while I'm at the meeting, then pick him up after I'm done.

After being so tired last night you'd think I'd hit the bed and be out like a light last night, but NOOOO. For some weird unknown reason I couldn't fall asleep. At first I did have a reason, ELI was tossing and turning, but after he settled down I just couldn't fall asleep and didn't do so til well after 4am. I was up early too which didn't help matters. I was so tired, not to mention a bit stiff, but I got out and walked this morning nonetheless. No jogging, just walking. Got a later start than usual and took me a little over an hour. Wasn't able to get on the computer earlier afterwards because I had to get ready to spend a few hours with ELI. Had a few errands to run before we could enjoy the day which was too short and went very fast.

CHERYL, you keep on truckin' girl. I love the fact that you grill the waitress, I do the same thing and there's nothing wrong. You'd be amazed at what you find out sometimes when you ask what a dishes ingredients are, or how it's prepared. The situation with your friend, sad as it is on her end, is helping you learn what works and what doesn't. I'm glad you haven't given in to the temptations and stuck to staying OP. GOOD FOR YOU!!!:D

FILLISE, glad to have you back safe and sound! Girl, you have to carry a cooler with you to these things you go to JUST IN CASE they don't have any SB friendly foods. Not only is it better for you, but I'm sure much better tasting then a lunched box they could give you. When we went to visit NANCE last year, I packed a lunch box for the plane and trust me, it was a lot better than the slop they served to the other passengers!!!

BIGK, cool beans on the clothes being too darned big, see, you don't even realize that you've gotten smaller. The weight will come off, just be patient. From this book I've been reading, when I calculate how many calories I should be eating and thus loosing, I'm lucky, with nothing else factored in, like TOM, to lose 1 pound every 5 days, if that. Patience will just have to be a part of my being OP. Hope you and Sarah had a nice day together. Tell her I said hello:)

JENN, sorry to hear DH2B isn't up to par, hope he's better today. I'm sure the surgery will be a breeze, don't worry too much about it, though I'm sure it's natural. Wow, 47 more days-that's so exciting!!!!

JACKK, I too am very emotional, esp. when I was eating sugar, oh my goodness, I could cry at commercials! I can't imagine how I'm even going to get through Michael's graduation, much less a wedding in the future! Valium, hankies, the works!!!! Not sure when I will call next, if I catch you great, if not, don't worry, will try, try again!

TONI, glad you were able to get on the board finally. Another day on the TM! Good job girl! Keep up the great work. Glad you liked the MM, I did too. How could you not be upbeat when you are OP-eating good, feeling good - now if I could only get my computer troubles solves I'll really show you all how great I can feel!

MUSIC, glad you got your hair like YOU wanted it. I stopped trying to please other people long ago-please yourself first. Uh oh, Maggie and Sarah playing hairdresser-I can only imagine!!! LOL!! So, was Sarah a natural at cutting?

HEART, you'd fall under MARRIED on the poll, I'd say.

BOB, hope there's better news with the car today. I didn't know the smoke I eyed in the sky was from the smoke coming out of your ears!!!

MEL, got your e-mail, just haven't had time to reply yet, bear with me;) Okay, what exactly is it, or should I say where exactly, is it that you want to be with your weight and/or body fat? I would be thrilled to lose 9% more body fat. What goal are you trying to get to at this point? You can't be upset to be at a platuea when you've reached your goal and then some-you should be proud of all you've acheived. I surely couldn't do the BFL thing, you've done it and then some-I admire you greatly!

QUILTER, Nutrigrain Bars - heck, if I'm going to cheat it's going to be something worthwhile! Glad you waited and let that idea go down the drain-def. not worth it! Yes, it does feel a lot better to be on track than being off track and crappy!

JRED, thanks for the kudos of feeling back to my old self - almost there! I can't imagine having a 3 week cycle, crap, it's bad enough have it a 4 week one - sometimes I can't wait for them to stop, but then I think of the fact that it means I'm getting older - can't win with this situation!

GRACIOUS, I guess that wasn't one of the things you had planned to refurbish in the house, was it? Hope it didn't cause any damage.

TRANQUIL, you go girl! No more soda - trust me, you won't miss them!

COUNTRY, brisket? YUM! My DM makes a wonderful brisket in beer gravy. If I try making one, it comes out like shoe leather, I have no luck at all!!! Here's hoping your words are right and the weight I've gained, whatever it may be goes, as NSYNC says, BYE, BYE, BYE!!!

Wow, I've acutally gotten all the replies in (I hope). I have to go get ready for my meeting. I'm not sure what time I will get out of there, plus having to go get ELI at SB afterwards, so not sure if I will be home in time for
CHAT TONIGHT AT 9:15PM EST Hopefully so, but if not, my thoughts will be with all you lucky ones who are.

Please remember, though many of us would like to forget, TOMORROW IS WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY!!! I wish us all good luck with the metal monster tomorrow!!

Geez I thought my ISP would never update! I was having major board withdrawls!!!

BOB - Rods go up and down inside your engine, if you throw one, it generally damages your block... we're talking engine rebuild/replacement. MEGA $$$$$. I have a rod knocking, but it hasn't thrown yet... I have to get the engine rebuilt or replaced soon and it's going to be between $1000 and $1500 for a non-turbo 6 cylinder Toyota engine :( Good Luck!!!

DEB - I enjoyed talking to you! I'm glad we got to talk. Haven't made the recipe yet, but planning to. Tonight is my off-night so I'll have time to make it to let it sit overnight in the fridge. I wish I could say I had a great moment of enlightenment and have solidly gotten back OP... but **** I cheated yesterday! BUT... TODAY I HAVE NOT! :cb: It's a start! And I'm gonna STICK TO IT THIS TIME... LOL... have you heard that from me before? ;) :joker:

Daramus - Sorry for the lack of email... been flat exhause=ted and busy as all heck! Hope to see you in chat later!

Hope everyone is doing well... I just woke up long enough to get some cleaning done and fix dinner. Only had 6 hours of sleep in the last 2 days so I'm using tonight as catch up on rest night since I'm off work! If I'm conscious later, I'll join the chat!

See Y'all!

Jack-K - Probably too late - but I put in about 1T of curry - because after it sits it seems to get stronger and stronger - just enough to be a pretty yellow..... I think it is best to mix the curry in the mayo before adding to salad so you can adjust the level....

I am drinking water and tea and seltzer - I am drinking a lot more water now as well - I find that it is a lot cheaper to order water instead of a tea at the restaurants, etc.

The salad I made turned out very good - and everyone had some for lunch - including Serene who stopped by the office to say Hello....

Country - My foot is hanging in there - wearing the brace and not walking the malls - it is not hurting as badly as it was with the Vioxx they gave me and the brace helps a lot.... dr. appt. on Tuesday to find out more.....

Gracious - Loved those grooving bananas!!! I agree the chemicals is one of the biggest reasons - along with like Country said, no swelling - from all the sodium.... I am drinking some green tea at the moment.... I hear it helps clean your system - especially before WIW :)

Going to try and chat tonight!!!

@#$%^&*()_+ ......car!!!

Here's the poop....
Of course if wasn't the fault of the machine shop that did my head gasket! , and of course if wasn't the fault of the mechanic at the garage where I take my car!!! SO I'M OUT $1100 from the previous repair! THEY THINK THEY CAN FIX IT!!!
It's a manufacturerer problem!! Something that was NEVER SUPPOSED TO FALL OUT.....FELL OUT!!! which cause the rod to throw and the valve to drop in the cylinder and CRACK THE PISTON!!!!

Hi all!!

I have missed this board so much. My life is finally back to normal well almost. Last night I spent the entire evening with my friend her mom died Sunday. We had just gotten back from our church picnic when her sister called and told her to come to the hospital. I 'm glad she made it to the hospital before she died so she got to say goodbye.

Well I just finished my 2 mile WATP tape. I have a question did any of you guys get the balls you have to fill with water. My girlfriend has regular 2 pound balls with hers. Now I feel a little cheated:) Oh well know I am attempting to work out everyday except Sundays.

I had to reevaluate things because I have maintained the last 3 weeks. So I know I need to exercise almost daily. I also need to watch how much I am eating even though it is legal stuff. I still know this is the best WOE for me. I got my blood test results back and my glucose is staying in the normal range and my choloestrol is normal.

I am thankful that I have not gained any of the 16lbs back I lost since starting this WOE on June 6, 2002. I can't believe it has been been 2 1/2 month already and it has made such a difference in my life.

Well enough talking for now I'lll see you guys at chat.

Jack-k- The heart attack thing is a hoax. I think you can find it under snopes.com. If you do this, you can actually make things WORSE.

The WW Wonder Bread is not legal because it has molasses and corn syrup in it but I figure for the kids it beats the white junk and it's whole wheat flour.
My next step is to convert them to brown rice I'm going to make the tex-brown rice and see if they like it.

Tranquil
Congrat's on breaking the soda habit!
I detest the taste of diet soda so I don't have that problem.
I find myself down to maybe 2 cups of coffee a day now. Compared to the 5 or 6 I drank before SB. I think I liked the sugar I put in the coffee more then the coffee and now with the Splenda it's not so tasty!

Country
I checked out the site you mentioned working on and your site also. You make some really great graphics!
I used to work for an online computer store making graphics and webpages so I know how time consuming that sort of work is! Funny thing is after about 9 months of cranking out banners and graphics my creativity got burned out. Now I go for function and speed LOL

Thanks to all who said I wasn't a witch to my friend. I really hope she'll come to the SB side because we'd really have fun doing it together.

Well, girls- I was able to get into chat tonight and had fun talking with everyone. For those who weren't there- hubby left today, along with his clothes. We've been having probs for a long time so I'm not shocked or tearry eyed. He just has too many psychological probs for me to handle and tired of us being the ones to suffer for it. What's kind of funny is that today was the first time in a while that I stayed 100% OP. Gee, wonder if there's a connection, lol? Anyway, I weighed myself today(shouldn't have) and I am up 5 pounds from a little over a week ago:o But it's not official until tomorrow:s: As for Boogie, he's okay other than a bit of cold and his ped. cardiology appt is Thursday. I'm assuming they will be giving us the date of the Fontan surgery. I think I need a valium!

Happy WIW!:fr:

Hope the scale is good to everyone today. I hate to be the first one to post on WIW especially since I'm not a loser. (guess I am).
Stayed the same today. No matter how many times I got on and off that scale. Don't even have any excuses. Who knows. I even tried to only eat 1 carb last week. Oh well, there is always next week. I think I am going back to journaling to see if that helps.

Deb, Missed you at chat last nite. Sure hope you find time soon to join us again. Just not the same without you. I find that if I am too tired, I can't sleep. I guess it's like kids when they get too tired, they get hyper. Go figure. Hope you get your rest today.

Beth, I was just wonder about you last nite. Glad you finally made it back to the boards. Just take one meal at a time. Promise yoiurself to stay legal. You can do it.

Tranquil, thanks for the info on the curry. I just used a sprinkle since I wasn't sure how it would taste. Next time I'll increase it.

Bob, If your car problem was a mfg problem, shouldn't they fix it free? Was there a recall on it? Nothign worse than car trouble.

Toni, what kind of BBQ sauce did you use for your steak?

Mercy, Condolences to your friend on the death of her mother. It's tough to lose your mom. You are doing great with your exercising. I have reached the same conclusion. I have to exercise every day. I to need to re-evaluate what I am eating. I am going to go back to journaling. Just wish I had time to do fit-day. Really don't understand it totally either. You are doing great. Keep up the good work.

Cherylco, I used to drink a bunch of coffee at the office. Even though I always drank it black, now I can hardly drink more than 2 ( and never full cause they get cold) then I want my water. Funny isn't it.

Heartmom, My heart goes out to you. You have so much to handle right now. Maybe with DH leaving you will lose some of that emotional baggage and it willhelp you with everything else. Great for staying OP though all of that. Maybe that is the reason. Good luck. Still sending prayers your way for you and Boogie.

Good luck to the rest of you.

Wow, I am the first this morning to post! Where are you all???

Okay - my weight is the same, which is really wonderful considering TOM is due on Friday for a visit..... So with monthly swell that is natural....I have still maintained...

246 lbs. - I am happy with that - as long as I stay away from the 50's I am doing well :) I am just really counting on losing 7 more pounds this month - I would like to see the numbers in the 30s when I go on vacation....

I am down a pound from the weekend so that is a start.

Thank you for all the concern about my burst pipe but I thought I would clarify. It was a split pipe in my well. It is the pipe that draws water up and then into the house. So there was no leaking or water damage, it simply stopped delivering water into our house. Still a drag but much better than a pipe squirting water all over inside!

HEARTMOM- I am very sorry to hear about your marriage difficulties. Hang in there, try to keep on track with your eating and love those babies of yours. {hugs}

Oh and thanks for posting that hoax thing!! I copied it and sent that to my dad now too! He is going to think I am a basket case sending him wrong info.

MERCY- Only some of the sets of WATP tapes included the balls to fill with water. I have picked them up in the store and I prefer my own handweights. The only thing the balls have going for them over traditional handweights , IMHO, is that you can't grip them too hard. I just make sure I don't do that with my regular ones and they are fine. They actually look awkward to me.

TONI- Your dinner sounds very yummy and now you have me dreaming about a T-Bone steak!

TRANQUIL- I have also heard that green tea is supposed to speed up the metabolism. Who knows if that is true or not..but it can't hurt!

COUNTRYMOM- Way to go with the archery. My hubby has such a sooped up bow now but only uses it on occasion. I wish he would really get going with it and maybe he could get us some free meat!!

I am off to do some work now. Have a great WIW! :cb:

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone:wave:

Got out and got in my walk this morning. Another brutally hot and humid morning (87% humidity), but managed to get in those 4.5miles in 50:02.

Sorry I didn't make it to chat last night, got home late from the meeting and having to p/u ELI over at SB's afterwards.

I hope you all don't mind that I don't weigh in today, but instead do a WIT tomorrow. A few reasons being...I ate a heavy dinner really late last night when we got home and it's still sitting in my stomach, or thereabouts, plus I haven't really gone to the bathroom lately, so I'm playing DOOKIE HOUSER today and third, tomorrow is an anniversary day for me (started on the 22nd). Promise, no matter what, I'll hop and tell all tomorrow. Hoping for those of you who are doing WIW today you have good news to talk about!!!:D

Not much planned today, just tackling some cleaning. Tomorrow I'm going out with my sister, a last day out so to speak because once the kids are in school we won't be able to do much at all since the first one she has to p/u from school is before Noon and that doesn't leave any time to do much at all.

BETH, enjoyed chatting with you as well the other day:) Hope you are able to find the same gung-ho spirit you had before - it's in there somewhere I know! Did you make the recipe last night?

TONI, you'd think I'd of slept like a dead woman last night and though I didn't have a night like the night before still not a totally restful night. I seem to get like this once in a while, maybe it's hormones, who knows. I sometimes find myself having to take a nap in the afternoon-makes me feel a little old when I do that, but sometimes I just can't help it, it just catches up with me. Keep ELI awake, NEVER, he's even more tired than I would ever be and when he does fall asleep it's a deep one. If his own snoring doesn't wake him up, nothing will!

MERCY, sorry to here about your friends DM, I'm sure she was glad you were there for her. What kind of balls are you talking about with water - I'm clueless:?: I think journaling is a great thing to do IMHO. There's some great sites on the web that make it very easy to do.

HEART, glad to hear things are now on a upswing for you now that he's gone. When my EX left it was like a huge weight was lifted, I have absolutely NO regrets at all, never had, not even from day one. Don't worry about those 5lbs, much can be from stress. I gained 6lbs from stress in a week one time, it was not from eating wrong or not working out and I just was patient and back off it came as mysteriously as it appeared. Let us know how BOOGIES appt goes!

JACKK, hey, staying the same sure beats a gain! I tried limiting carbs a couple times and really, it made no difference. It never hurts to try anything like that to see how your body reacts, but otherwise, don't deny yourself another starchy carb if you really want it. Like I told MERCY I think it really helps to journal, so I'm behind your idea to do so 100%. I'll be back to chat soon, promise. Give me a week after school starts and I'll probably be back to normal, or something close to that.

TRANQUIL, good job on staying the same this week and knowing that TOM is probably the culprit and that being patient will show a loss soon. I'm sure with all these positive changes you are making you'll see a nice loss before your vacation. Reminds me, I have to get that list of goodies to look for in the UK!

GRACIOUS, CONGRATS on losing another pound. You're our first loser of the morning:D

Okay, I'm done! YIPEEE! I'm going to head into the kitchen and make myself something to eat. I think I'm in the mood for pizza!!!! Okay, don't have a flippin cow, not real pizza! I've found taking a WW English muffin and slicing each half into another half, giving me 4 circles, topping each with a half-tablespoon of sauce and 1oz of mozzerella cheese among the 4 pieces, along with some Italian pizza spices and throwing it under the broiler tastes almost just like the real thing - delicous! I'm hooked!

I'll check in later today at some point.

Have a great day!!

Well, let me be the first to say that my weight is up 3.5 lbs this week!:stress: I know that it is because of having a lot of abnormal post menopausal problems happening with my body and I am super bloated! My doctor should have my biopsy results by next week so that we can find out what is going on. So, with that knowledege, I won't be discouraged or upset about the gain.

I've been eating OP, with the exception of a bowl of Life cereal at 1am this morning. I was very stressed due to a situation that my 17 y/o got involved in, let it get to me and decided to eat. Guess it could have been worse as I passed up the Chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies. Looks like I will have to let him stay at home until he is 18 in November, as the police said I could not legally kick him out, even though he is very unmanageable. If anyone has ideas for dealing with a situation like this, then I'm open to suggestions.

Chat was fun last night. I got to talk to heartmom and Gatorgal for the first time. We were just chatting away and then I realized it was 10:30! I also enjoyed chatting with everyone else that made it.

Deb, it is so good to hear that you are back on track. It helps make me feel normal to know that our great leader struggles with this WOE at times too.

Toni, I remember how miserable August was when I lived in Mo. for a year. I can empathize. Isn't it funny how much can happen when we are having company? Maybe your sis in law won't be eager for a return visit any time soon. Doesn't sound like you would be too disappointed about that.:)

Tranquil, good for you on losing the diet soda habit. I know first hand that you were a heavy drinker with that stuff. Thanks for sharing the chicken salad when I dropped by the office yesterday. It was delicious and I don't normally care for curry very much. Even if it hadn't tasted good, getting a look at the handsome computer man was worth the visit. WOW! :flame: Oh, and did I say that it was nice to see you too!

Crystle, your brisket sounded so good! I don't usually cook them as it always seems to be too tough. Sounds like using marinade and slow cooking might be the secret to tenderness. Is that correct? Thanks for asking how I am. I take things a day at a time and am doing ok. The house does feel somewhat less stressful now that there is less baggage around. I am learning to do things that I never had to before, like maintenance on my pool. It feels good to be able to do it myself.:cp:

Hi j red, thanks for also asking about how I am. I can sure empathize with you about that ab pain. I have that constantly but haven't had TOM visit in several years. Now, all of a sudden, it is like TOM is making up for all those lost visits! Have you started back to school yet? I really admire teachers. I homeschooled my DD for years and it was quite a lot to keep up with for just one child. I can't even imagine a whole classroom full.

Jack-k, sorry you couldn't get the scale to move down today. At least you have the satisfaction of knowing you have stayed OP and the scale will move again soon! Enjoyed the chat last night!

gracious, WTG on being down a pound!

mercy, it was fun chatting with you last night also. I sure enjoy your sense of humor! :joker:

heatmom, I'm so sorry about your husband. You and I should do both do much better with that extra weight not hanging around!

Gatorgal, remember to go watch those butterflies this afternoon when you have the urge to eat!;)

Ok, Deb, we will expect to hear a weight report tomorrow, however, I won't get my feelings hurt if you don't share the details of the Dookie Houser report!

Have a great day everyone!

Take care,
Wendy

HiedieHo All!

It seems at times that I'm always running to catch up! Just have been busy! A lot of my time has been spent making phone calls to friends and car rental places. I've never rented a car before. The only one that had my criteria of locations was Hertz and they wanted $344 for a week. Then my DD told me she found 197.92 on Orbitz, she used airports as locations. So I went to Orbitz, yes it was the 197 but by the time they added taxes, etc it was 300! 102 in taxes. I had never thought of picking up/returning car at an airport. The locations work out fine. So today I am going to call other companies out of curiosity.

Because we are having the house sided I missed going to NH on Monday, DS had to go to work in the morning and someone had to be here. So I went yesterday instead. Then to church where I spent three hours making copies, cropping and folding.
CAmr home and made supper. Put a little olive oil in non-stick pan (for flavor) threw in some salmon portions, salted and used fresh ground pepper, cooked until golden on all sides. Delicious! Made noodles and mixed vegetables for the kids and had cucumber slices for me.

Today I am going to be washing again. This time it is all the shelf stuff from my bedroom, the siders are working on that part of the house now. Like I said, it makes me clean it!

I am so far behind on posts, haven't had a chance to even lurk. I did run through them this morning, but cannot reply to all. Forgive me.

DEB: I too am very selective with buying my glass. I used to be less choosy, would buy because it was pink, but after so many years it really accumalated. That's why I sold so much. Now I only buy if it's unusual or really hits me. It's really expensive in this area. I have service for six in Sharon with serving pieces that I bought about 35 years ago for $50. Here one plate is $65! I know prices have gone up, but really! There are no more one or two dollar pieces of quality! Just a piece of advice, when buying glass never look at it for chips, cracks etc. Turn it around and over in your hands feeling the entire surface and edges lightly. You'd be amazed what you can feel but not see. Also watch the dealers, they get nervouse when you do that. The more nervous they get the more you feel. I don't buy unless perfect!

CHERYL: Too bad about your friends eating habits, she'll learn the hard way! You're not being a bad friend, just a realistic one!

JACKK: You go ahead and cry! I cry during commercials! My DIL cried during the opening credits of "Lion King". Daughters' weddings are something to cry over! One time my DD, GD and I were watching a movie crying our eyes out! My DS came home and wanted to know who died!

BOB: Throwing a rod!?! Definitely big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!

FILLISE/JRED: Re: Politics: I think in LA in order to run for office it is required that you have a criminal record!

Got to get busy.

I'm sorry about your troubles. I'm sure your feeling relived and sad at the same time.
I've been married for 15 years and while I love my husband greatly there have been periods when separation or divorce sure sounded good!
If things are so bad you can't stand it and he can't or won't change then separation is a good thing. Give people a chance to calmly reevaluate things. Focus on yourself right now.

I'm not sure what the problems are with your 17 year-old but My brother was a total drug addict loser thief from the age of 15 to his 20's Cops came calling quite a lot. My parents FINALLY cut him off from all money and any privileges in our house and would not bail him out of jail anymore. We had to keep everything valuables under lock and key. Including car keys. it sucked but when he was 18 out he went. He is now married with 2 kids and his own business
But that time period was pretty awful for our family.

Hi all,

Another quick post. Didn't do WIW, but did get weighed at the Dr.'s yesterday - according to their scale, I'm up 6 LBS since my last visit on 7/11. :fr:

I don't know how much I'll be able to do in the next week, since my surgery is so close. I honestly don't feel like trying. :stress:

At this point, I'm going to focus on to what I need to do (clean house, get some minor things packed, play with the puppy), and deal with the weight issue when surgery, closing, and mom's visit are done.

I'll check the boards when I can - you all have been helping to keep me sane these last few weeks!

Hugs,

Jenn

Hello! Wanted to check in. I tried to get on a few times early in the week, but couldn't. I tried to read up on all the posts, and I feel lost. My brain is not good at detail, and I feel confused.

I did get on the scale this morning and.... I was down two pounds. Now, I don't know where I am in relation to where I was before vacation, since my dear son in law 'fixed' my scale for me. I may be at my lowest, or lower, or a few pounds above. I am trying not to care... just eat what I am supposed to, leave what I am not supposed to eat alone and watch portions.

Right now I am on a tabouli/hummus kick. Along with calamati olives, and feta cheese, there is no better eating I am sure! :T

I hope to get in a real post soon... in the meantime, I hope everyone is doing well. Please don't forget me....

Hi y'all. First chance I've had to get on all day. School is in full swing now and my day is full. That's OK. Makes it go by faster. WIW was not too bad today. I'm up 1.5 lbs from last week but TOM is here, so maybe that will disappear. I haven't been 100% OP, but not too far off track.

GRACIOUS: Glad to hear the pipe didn't cause a mess in your house. Our washing machine backed up in the sink and dishwasher and all over the kitchen floor yesterday. Fortunately I was at school and Dennis was doing the wash and had to deal with it. He's supposed to be trying to find where it's stopped up today.

HEART: Sorry to hear about your problems. I know you're problems with Boogie don't help any. Anyway, concentrate on yourself and your kids. Hope his visit goes well.

MONET: WTG on the loss.

DEB: No, Sarah is not a natural hair stylist. Fortunately she didn't do too much damage. We just have bangs, very short bangs, instead of hair all one length.

Just checking in before I go home.

Congrats to all the losers today. The rest of us maintaining or gaining, we'll get em next week. Hang in there.

Tranquil, We are hanging together. Oh well, we'll get them next month. My TOMis also do this weekend. I messed with it last month so it would be over before vacation, so I'm not sure what and when this month. Keep focused and you will get that 7 lbs off before vacation. Enjoyed chat with you last nite. You & Serene together are too much. You keep me in stitches.

Gracious, WTG on losing the pound. I'm relly glad you didn't have water in your house. That was not as bad as I had thought.

Deb, We'll let you weigh-in tomorrow. Just this once though. LOL. We are mssing you at chat. Enjoy your day with your DS. Are you eating those pizzas for breakfast?? Any word on Nance. Will she be back soon?

Serene, Don't worry about that gain. It will go quickly I'm sure. I'm sure it's due to your "problems". Enjoyed chat with you last nite. You and Tranquil are crazy women! I got a kick out of your message to her about the computer man. Now we know why you visit her. LOL I can hardly believe your DS is so much trouble. You are such a sweet person. Must get it from his dad, uh? LOL Sorry Idon't have any advice for you.

Sef, You are one busy lady. How do you do it all? Your dinner sounds good. Easy too.

Cherylco, Congrats on the pound loss. Keep up the good work.

Jenn, Try not to give up. You don't want to add extra weight to your problems. Good luck to you.

Monet, Congrats on the 2 lbs loss. You are right not to concentrate on the scale, but its hard to do. Keep up the good work.

Music, Get back on track and that 1.5 will be gone in no time. Probably is that ucky TOM.

Have a great evening everyone.

Evening All:wave:

Thought I'd get in a post before the night wears on. Going to be plopping my rear in front of the boob-tube come 8pm and doubt I'll get on here later.

SERENE, don't worry about that small gain, you know what's contributing to it and it surely isn't the Life cereal, so don't worry about it, as it came, it will go, and then some. Can't you get Carl to take Joel for a couple months? I can only imagine what's going on and the stress it's causing you {{{HUGS}}} to you. Okay, you convinced me, I'll keep the Dookie Houser report all to myself, well, sort of, I'll share with the commode!! LOL!!

SEF, not to worry about me and buying any DG. If I come across a piece I like at a garage sale for a buck or two, fine, but I definitely am not a collector and don't go looking for it. Would never buy anything from a dealer, not that I go to any place where dealers are. If I can be of ANY help in helping you with renting a car, just let me know, would be happy to help. We usually find that ALAMO has great deals and calling around definitely is worthwhile.

CHERYL, I don't have any problems with wearing the PB AND my fanny pack that holds my water bottle. I wear my FP around my hips and the PB around my waist. I can tell you it really gives your arms a workout! If you decide to get one, here's a hint, try finding one on Ebay first, they're going to be a lot cheaper than from the company. They don't always have them but sometimes you can find them, if you aren't in a hurry. If you do order them from WALKERSWAREHOUSE, see if maybe they can give you some sort of a deal. Ask to speak to JOSH CORN and tell him that I recommended it to you (tell him Debbie in Miami, it should ring a bell). Ask him if he has some info to send you, what he has is interesting, THEN ask him if he has any specials running on it should you want to buy one - never hurts to ask!

JENN, if you are eating right, then don't worry about this gain. I think the stress of the surgery and the wedding is causing this gain to happen. Still to your guns and don't give up the ship right now!!!

MONET, take the 2lb loss and run, don't look back, the scale is "fixed" and this is what you should go by from now on. Yummy foods you are eating, are you turning Lebanese??????? Got to tell you, those breads I bought at Harry's, I ended up making bread crumbs from them, absolutely delicious! I'd ask them if they have day-old breads like that for cheap and to save a few for you next time you go if they will. I've been making the best shake n bake pork chops with it, delicious!

MUSIC, can't be any worse than me trying to cut Michael's hair with the Wahl razor and then having him shut himself in the bathroom and basically shave his head so that the hair was about 1/4" long. That gain you had will be gone, as soon as TOM is, so not to worry!

JACKK, nothing from Nance at all. No replies to any e-mails I've sent, though they've been addressed to the whole board. I'll give her a call soon. I ate the pizza muffin for breakfast, it was delicious! I'm definitely hooked on them. The muffins from WHOLE FOODS are wonderful, and SB LEGAL TOO!!!:spin:

Well, I'm going to start dinner. Poor ELI has been at work since 5am and he said he wasn't coming home until around 7pm and in his time, that's about 8-9pm. I'm going to throw some kafta (like meatloaf, sort of) in the oven so it will be read when he comes home.

Will try to get in a post tomorrow morning if I have time, but not sure if I will. If anything, at least my WIT results. I'm going to try and get in my walk before I have to head out to meet my sister. She's going to meet me at the mechanics so I can leave my car there and get the oil changed. I'm only 2,500 miles over due:eek: Need to get it done and tomorrow is the perfect day since she's driving.

Have a good evening!

Holding steady at 162. Was up 2 a couple of days ago and I lost those two. Still have the ab pain but no TOM.

Had a teacher inservice today. Learned how to create a non-linear PowerPoint presentation. They sure are a lot of work and I'm sure the students will have more fun creating them, but I have a tremendous headache from looking at a monitor all day long. So this is a short check-in.

Have a good evening, all.

Happy WIW Y'all

I still don't have a scale so I remain blissfully ignorant... and since I don't think I've had more than one OP day in a row in the last month... I don't wanna know! The bad thing is all my size 14's are still fitting... but I WANT TO BE SMALLER. I have gotta find that motivation... until I do this is just going to get worse!

BOB - Sorry I was so darn accurate!!! :( (but I told ya so!!)

It's WIW- so I will make it official- the scale said 232 this morning, which is better than yesterday's 234 BUT- still up 3 from last week. I managed to stay OP today, that makes 2 days in a row:cb: Hubby came over today and TRIED to make ammends- I wasn't listening to it:headache: Made me feel bad though when he left crying. That's when I usually cave in and let him back...but not this time:no: He said he wanted to go to Boogie's appt with me in the morning- I told him he could go... in his car. I'm sticking to my guns this time and it kinda feels good:s:

DEB: Which ones of Harry's breads did you get that you are using for bread crumbs? A friend of mine picks up all the day old bread at Harry's a couple times a week for an International Students Ministry he is involved in, and I can probably get some from him for free.... Yes, I think I am mutating from Czech to Lebanese... Tonight I made a recipe I found for Lebanese meat balls. We stuffed them into pitas, with tabouli, feta and olives. It was delish! By the way, when is the thingie in Orlando? If the dates don't clash with my sister in law's calendar, I want to try and come.

BOB: I am sorry about your car. I put over $2,000 into mine from May to July. I needed a new ac, and then new timing belts, and a 60k check up, and an oil leak fixed. Hope it lasts...but it is one of those great older Camrys.

It is time for bed...wish I had more time to address everyone individually. I will try tomorrow! (I know, I sound like Scarlet O'Hara)

Hi all,
I had fun at chat last night, but got in about 30 min. late, so missed some of the first yakking. Heart, I missed your telling about your hubby. I'm so sorry to learn of your family difficulties. I hope that you all can get it worked out through counseling. It's a very sad thing. And hard, too.

Yep, I didn't nibble, but went out and worked in the yard. Actually, I used the long pole trimmer and cut off all those seed clusters on the crepe myrtle trees. If you keep them faithfully cut off after the blooms finish, you can get up to 3 blooming cycles a year.

This weekend is our anniversary and my DH is taking me out to the Grand Cypress hotel near Disney. It is a lovely resort hotel and we will play some golf while we are there. He is also taking me to dinner. Hope they serve SB.

Can't write much. I've spent the better part of the evening writing a letter all in French. We met some people in Cuba that were from France. They have invited us to visit them when we are over there. And we have been writing back and forth. Tonight I wanted to write a longer letter and it took me some time. I will have my teacher look at it and correct all my errors. Hopefully there aren't too many.

Gotta go.

A short post before I hit the sack. Deb, I hope tomorrow is a good one for you!!!! Jack-K, I enjoyed chatting with you too - you are just as much of a hoot as I possibly could be ;) Bob, I am so sorry to hear about the car!!! Serene, I will let you know when the good looking Computer Guy comes back, so you can come over to the office and drool with me :T Gator, that is really interesting about meeting someone in Cuba, and being able to meet them in France, and I am sorry to have missed you on chat. HeartMom, Stay strong and you will do wonders for yourself and the kids, and remember, hubby is a grown man, he should not need you to be the only strong one. Well, JRed, congrats to the 2 lbs gone and Monet my mouth is watering for some of that food you mentioned!!! I better get off to bed before I get into the kitchen instead.... To those I missed, hello, have a good evening, and I will catch up tomorrow!

Things going good here as life progresses on.

Does anyone have any good zucchini recipes? I have 2 zucchini plants in my garden and they have started to produce. In a few short days I will have zucchinis coming out of my ears and not a single recipe.

I found a site recommended on another board somewhere in this 3fatchicks site that sends you to a place where there are freebies galore. I found one that is Canadian which is amazing because most are American. I have been filling stuff out and have all kinds of neat little things on the way to me and the kids!

GOOD THURSDAY MORNING EVERYONE:wave:

Just got in from my walk. Was so hot out there:flame: but managed to get in those usual 4.5 miles. My knee started bothering me about a mile away from the house, not sure what's up with that! Had to walk most of the way home from there on. Bad enough it's so hot out there, but to have an ache and pain on top of that!

Okay, down to the nitty gritty. My WIT report isn't so great. I'm at 129.5, so a .5 above my goal. Two weeks ago when I did get on the scale I saw that terribe 131, something I hadn't seen in a year and that put me in a tailspin and throwing me back on track. Here I am, with Saturday being 2 weeks since I've been back OP 100% and this is the weight I see this morning. BUT, honestly, I'm not upset at all. I think, without having the time to look right now, that usually, right after mid-cycle I go up and down until TOM comes, though I'm not positive and will definitely look up this information later today. Anyhow, I know I am eating right and exercising right, so not really worried about what the scale says, or doesn't say. The only thing I know I have to work on at this time is my water intake. So, there you have it, not a pretty site, definitely not anywhere near my cushion, but just give me a little time, and I'll get back there:D

I have to get ready to go with my sister today, so this is going to be a short one. One thing to mention, if you haven't seen it already, we know have 88 smilies to chose from to put in or posts!!!! Check them out, there's some really cute ones! I'm going to have to ask Suzanne if we are still limited to putting only 10 smilies into a post before it will kick it back and make us remove any more than that.

MONET, I bought two loaves of bread from there, the one I'm currently using is their 100% rye bread. The other one I made into crumbs I'll have to check and let you know. I know it's something whole grain though. The date for the WDW Marathon is the weekend on January 12th, that is the Sunday, so if you can come down to be there by Friday, that would be great. We'll have a girls night only on Friday, I think. More details will be posted soon:D Would love for you to join us!

GRACIOUS, there should be quite a few recipes on the board for zucchini, just do a search. If you are looking for something in particular, just say it, I'm sure amongst us all we'll be able to come up with a recipe, or two. The ZUCCHINI LOAF CAKE is wonderful to try!

Gotta run, will check in tonight!!

GRACIOUS: Try hollowing out the zucchinis, and filling them with some ground beef, browned, mixed with some ww bread crumbs, and an egg, and onions, or whatever you feel like, then baking until tender. Sprinkle with some grated cheese, bake until melted. Another recipe I had and loved was to use grated zucchini, with bread crumbs and grated lemon peel with chopped celery and onions, a bit of melted butter, and a bit of broth to make a stuffing. Spread it on fish fillets, roll them up pinwheel fashion, and bake. If you have more than you can eat, email me some! :)

Well Big Boss is not in the office today and tomorrow - so it is much more relaxed - I get along very well with the other boss....

Deb - Knowing the time of the month, and only .5 lbs over your goal - I think that the next week or two you will be a happy camper! You definitely sound like you are back in the groove baby!!! :hyper:

Gracious - I know there are some really good zucchini recipes on our board - I love to just spray a little olive oil, italian seasoning, and grill it or broil it - I can eat it like that forever!!!!! :chef:

Monet - That sounds absolutely devine!!!!!!!!!!!! I am now starving - hehehehe :D

Well here is my good news! This scale obsessed woman got on the scale this morning and whoa! to my surprise I have lost some more and now it is only 1 day till TOM's arrival!!!! I now weigh 244.5!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited!!!! :twirly:

Good Thursday morning all. Its going to be a real scorcher here in Missouri today. Think I'm in for the day. I think I've got my sister about talked into walking a couple days a week with me. So maybe next week we'll see. I would love to add that to my treadmill walking. Can tell my rings are a looser so hopefully I'm getting some of that fluid off me.. My husband left early this morning to look for a job. His nighttime job ends in two weeks. Its kind of scarey because theres not allot of jobs around a rural area and no one seems to be hiring. So send up some prayers this way that he finds something.

Monet- Congrads on the two pounds. Oh dear I'm so protective over my scale. And I say mine cause I asked for it for my birthday gift. LOL... Yummy your tabouli kick sounds good. I've never tasted it or hummus but just know I would really love it. I'll have to try putting the ground beef in a zucchi that sounds so darn yummy...

music teach-Your next week WIW should be good. Sounds like you're kicking in to full gear. Hope you got your walk in. Oh no on your overflow!!! Lucky you not having to take care of it.

Bob- Oh no..... choke, scream, whine, EEEE.....

jred- Oh to be at that number on my scale. I'm jealous.

Beth- Sometimes its great to not get on the scale.. LOL. Its so hard to get that motivation back but I usually read an article on weight or find a site on the internet that has weight issues on it to get me back in the mood. Sometimes even reading in the SB book helps. Then one day or two of trying new recipes. Just so I can focus on losing again.. I know sounds weird.

heartmom- Good for you gal. You're worth allot and don't forget it... Yea for staying OP 2 days in a row. You can, you can!!!

Gatorgirl-Sorry I left the chat before you got on. I'll bet your crepe myrtle tree is wonderful.. Wow what a work out. That pole trimmer thingie is tough..

Debilli- Sorry about your knee hurting. Hope its not going to cause you a bunch of problems. Hooray for staying OP. That makes you feel so good to know you're doing it no matter what...

Well thats it for now.. Be back later.....

Morning all--I was in Montgomery all day yesterday--so no chance to post. Off to a meeting in a few minutes so this will be short.

I've got to go buy a new scale tonight. I really think I damaged my old one when I beat it with the hearbrush last week. Any recommendations on a good model? I think I'm going to go digital.

I think some sugar got into my diet--I've had the worst headache for the last couple of days--and it is the kind I have when I get some sugar. I've been eating out a lot--and even when you are being careful--restaurants throw that stuff in things you can't imagine it would be in. I once went to a Japenese steakhouse. I ordered meat and vaggies thinking I would be safe, but as our chef was cooking the veggies, he ladeled a huge helping of sugar over them--ICK!

BOB--sorry to hear about the car. If it a manufacturer problem is there any hope the manufacturer or dealer will pay to fix it??????

OK--got to go.

Have a good day everyone!

Morning Everyone!

I'm in sleepy mode today. :tired: It's raining (finally!) and I think I'm kind of groggy from allergy meds.

I didn't like WIW. Had me up a pound from last week to 169:fr: I was at 167 on Monday, but I guess the couple of pieces of cake and a couple of coolers I had on Saturday caught up with me.

I have been doing WATP but did something to my knee the other day. Feels like it will give out when I put pressure on it. I had a tensor on it yesterday and it was feeling better. Then silly me raced DS and DH UP a hill. I sprinted for about 100yds. When I took the tensor off at night, the knee just ached. So taking it easy today.

Tomorrow we're going to The Canadian National Exhibition--The EX, or CNE as us locals call it. Should be a blast. It's like a big fair. I think DS will be big enough to go on some rides with me. DH will join us after work. There will be lots of temptations with all the icky food kiosks strategically placed amongst the rides and games. Then there is the FOOD building!!!:hyper: :chef: Actually, I think I'll be able to find something decent to eat in there. Mind you, I'm sure I'll cave when it comes to the Tiny Tom donuts!:donut: I'll be bringing a water bottle and refilling it a lot(good thing I have "restroom radar") and all the walking we'll do will surely count as exercise.

My thoughts are with all of you going thru tough times. Just remember, that YOU are worth getting healthy. Try not to let the curve balls in life mess you up.

Congrats to all the "losers"!!!! You're actually all big winners.

GRACIOUS: Try the zucchini parmasan recipe posted in the veggies section of the SB recipes. I've made it quite a bit since it was posted. Sometimes I add some crumbled and cooked italian sausage. DS actually asked for seconds! Also, what site did you go to to get all the Canadian freebies?

Gotta go start thinking about lunch. There having a craft making day at the mall and I promised DS I'd take him.

Take care all!

Toni - Prayers and good thoughts for your husband finding another job!!! I hope your sister will support you and walk with you...it helps having a walking buddy!

Fillise - Sugar on your Japanese veggies and stuff does sound icky!!!!! I forgot the name of my scale - it might be a healthometer - but it is all clear glass/digital/ using half lbs as well/ and I love it!

I know this has nothing to do with our group, but just sooo excited, my Gram adopted a little girl Greyhound last night - I went with her and she is so happy and loving! When you pet her, she snuggles her nose into your armpit - burrowing to get close like a puppy, though she is almost 5 yrs old. I am in love! Of course, my girl is happy to have someone to play with, but she is a little put out that someone else is around to steal attention...

Got to get busy, Sabrina :cloud9:

Gracious--How about doing your own version of ratatouille. Take the zucchini and cut it up into pieces about 1/4” - 1/3” thick and about 2” wide and brown them lightly in a pan. Remove from pan and saute one large onion, sliced. After the onion has softened, add 2-3 large cloves garlic, minced. Add back the zucchini and add one regular can chopped tomatoes. Cook for about 20-30 min. until the juice has started to evaporate and the mixture looks like a stew. This would be like ratatouille without the eggplant and peppers. Be sure to use olive oil for the sautéing as it definitely gives it that mediterranean flavor.

Got my weight lifting in this morning and stayed and walked one mile on the TM. I find treadmills boring, but they definitely are cooler than walking outside. My DH is going to call me to play 9 holes of golf this afternoon if it doesn’t rain. That would be my first time to play golf on a real course here in Orlando. I hope it doesn’t rain. I think we would walk and pull carts, so I should get even more walking in.

I’ve discovered that wasps have been cannibalizing the caterpillars in the butterfly garden. I’ve seen 4 in the past 2 days that were eating a caterpillar. So I bought some green tulle and have been draping the plants where I can find caterpillars. Hopefully that will work. I don’t want to have to bring all the caterpillars into the house. It’s too much trouble and the caterpillars leave lots of droppings, which are yukky even if they are in a bowl.

Have a great day, everybuddy.

Good afternoon Ladies & Daramus!

Been pretty busy here today. Had a taco salad (no shell of course)

The little league bb team from Lou is going to the championship game. It is so exciting to watch them. The whole town is a buzz with excitement for them. I actually know 2 people with kids on the team. That makes if fun.

Beth, Try re-reading the SB book. Maybe that will motivate you. Just back on that wagon before those 14's get too tight. We're here for you.

Heartmom, I am so proud of you. You are really going strong in all areas. Hold your ground. You know what yo want and what is best for your and the kids. Good luck at the Dr's.

Gator, sorryI missed you at chat last week. I had to leave early. Sounds like a nice anniversary you have planned. Enjoy. Happy Anniversary. How many years?

Tranquil, Have a great day! Did you think of a term we can use when we lose wt? Like WW does. I told you to be thinking on it.

Deb, what is this power belt thingy? What does it do? Enjoy yuor day with yur DS, I'm sure you will be under your goal in into that cushion before you know it. We have faith in you. Drink up!

Jred, Power point can be fun, but as with anything the learnig curve is a killer. Hang in there it will get better. The kids will love it.

Bob, Oh no!!!

Tranquil, WTG on dropping some more weight. You are on a roll. Keep up the good work. You will be spoiling Gram's puppy as much as she will. Dogs can be like kids.

Toni, Hope your DH finds a job and soemthing he likes too. Keep talking yuor DS into walking. It is more fun to walk with someone.

Fillise, If you get a digital scale, get one with 4 places so you can get half pounds too. Hope yu get rid of that headache. I haven't hardly had any since I started SB> Before then, I had severe one every day. Amazing isn't it.

Zanne, Ckae? Coolers? :nono: Better ice up the knee. Seems like everyone is having knee problems. (knock on wood). Have fun at your fair, and stay away from the "goodies" which ar relly "baddies".

Gator, WTG on yor lifting and walking. Golf will definately give you some exercise, oth walking and swinging.

Jenn your bouquet is beautiful. It is so colorful. Puppy is adorable too.

HiesdieHo All!

Another day, another no dollar! I'm just checking in, nothing to report. Not a good day. Went to NH, Tonight going with a friend to the community theater, they have a dress rehearsal of each show and it is open to seniors for free. Tonight they are doing the "King and I",

HEART: I can remember when our niece got a divorce. My MIL was shocked (it was the first in the family), she was worried about what the "poor little kiddies" would feel having only one parent. Our reply? Better to have one happy parent than two unhappy or bickering ones. Kids know what's going on no matter how you think you are hiding the situation. Sounds like you will do better at this time being on your own. You are strong and will do what is best for you and kids.

JENN: Good lick with your surgery. You ask how can you gain a pound a week? My experience it is easier to gain it than lose it! Gorgeous bouquet! Sammy looks like a keeper!

JACKK: I bluff a lot!!!! I'm from the school of use it or lose it! I keep trying to do things I've always done, although I admit now it is harder. I try to rest in between, but as you know from the board I overdo at times. I want to wear out not rust out!

DEB: There are great car deals, but it depends where you are going to and from. Apparently most dealers want the cars returned to their site, bit at another site. The best deal was Avis. Almost all had sites in Philadelphia but not in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Those that did were skyhigh. Best deal thru Orbitz. On the Food Channel I caught the tail end of a show and they were doing a piece on the Jungle Jim(?) store. It looked like an amazing placce. Now I realize what y'all are talking about.

TONI: Good thoughts on job hunting!

BOB: Unless you have no choice, do you want to put that much money in a car that is beginning to nickle and dime you to death?

Sorry if I haven't answered everyone. I need to lie down a while and am sitting here groggily trying to cathc up!

Bust that Sugar!

That's Sugar Bust'n!

My brain is on drag mode - allergies are bad so I don't have any good ideas - but if you tell me WW's idea - the brain should work a little better - hahaha :hypno2:

Good afternoon everyone. Thought I would pop back in before starting dinner. We're having barbequed chicken, a salad and a vegetable. Oh I love summer when you can cook outside.

Tranquil- Congradulations on losing more!!! You go girl!!!:jig:

Fillise- I got a digital scale and I love it. My daughter in law probably got it at Wal-Mart. Sure sounds like you got some sugar. Cooks put it in everything. I know I had a small town coffee shop.

Zanne- Ouch on the knee... You sure need to stop and put it up. Have fun at the fair and watch that knee.

Tranquil- The greyhounds sound so wonderful. If I didn't have dogs already I have the perfect place for one. We live completely alone out in the woods a few feet from the river. Lots of running room.

GatorGal- Way to go on the exercise and especially if you get to play golf...

Jenn in MN- Your puppy is just adorable... And I can tell what a proud MaMa you are...

Jack-K- Yummy that taco salad sounds so good. I've got to remember I can order that when I'm out and not eat the shell.

Sef- Hope you got a little rest!

Well guess I'll go get the chicken out of the marinade. And get that husband to light the barbeque. Have a great evening and those who watch it don't forget Big Brother tonight...

This is quite unusual--me here twice in one day.

JACK-K, TONI48, TRANQUIL---Thanks for the sympathy on the knee. I've just taken the tensor off for a bit, but it'll be back on for the rest of the night and tomorrow at the CNE.

JENN--Sammy is a Sweetie

GATOR--I'm going to give that zucchini ratatouille recipe a try. It seems my zucchinis hide on me till they're the size of clubs (the kind a caveman would hold, not the golfing kind!). Gonna have lots of zucchini to use.

GRACIOUS-- My zucchinis seem to grow large before I notice them. Here's what I did for dinner tonight: Cut one really large zucchini in half lenthwise. Hollow out. Stuff with mixture of ground beef cooked with onion and garlic (and any other spice you may want) and some cooked brown rice. Spoon/pour spagehetti sauce over the stuffed zucchini, cover and bake. I added a bit of water to the bottom of the baking dish too. When done, take off cover and top with grated mozzerella. Put uncovered dish back into oven just until cheese melts. It was really good. (if I do say so myself! )

I'm outta here. It's "MY" time and I'm going to take a nice bubble bath!

BOB: :grouphug:  I know what you mean about paying for repairs instead of purchasing new. I just got through replacing the heating element in my oven. Had to order it over the internet because the oven is old. But $40 for parts is better than a new oven nowadays.

Thunderwoman Sonya: Ashley's beautiful! Sorry I missed your IM message. My laptop died and I've been waiting for a new motherboard and keyboard to be built. So I have to come upstairs to the desktop and I don't like being up here away from everybody. I was probably downstairs cooking, or cleaning up, or putting in the new heating element.

Jack-K: I love PowerPoint. The non-linear is a fun way to make a presentation. It just takes a lot of prior planning. I think the kids will take it and run. There are cool ways to make jeopardy type and who wants to be a millionaire type games.

Missy: How's school? Do you love your class? Has the principal come in to de-stress?:hypno:

Tina: Getting those kiddos' lungs in shape?

Deb: You have such a great attitude this week. You go, Girlfriend! :queen:

Daramus: Here's one for you! :dancer:

I just love these smilies.
Today my head didn't hurt so much at the end of the day. I was supposed to teach a web page building class but the server host decided to cancel the contract with our service center Sep. 1. The service center is working on a new host but won't be ready for us to use it until the middle of Sep. So I can't do any training until I learn the new template. My fun class was saved by a consultant who showed the teachers how to create WebQuests. I even learned about some new things today.
Eating is good. Scale is still the same. And I'm still having these pains with no results. Hope that's not an ominous sign of a rough TOM.

Jenn: The bouquet is gorgeous. I love the colors. And the baby is adorable, too. When does he (or she, I don't remember) come home to Mama?:cp:

Serene & Tranquil: Pop those eyes right back into your heads when that computer guy comes back. And don't put that computer on the floor so he has to bend over!:s:

Gator: That's bad about the wasps. I hate when things like that happen. The squirrel in my yard chewed my hummingbird feeder so the nectar will run out so he could drink it! Now the hummingbird can't drink. I'll have to buy a new one. I always have one hummer every year. My folks over in Louisiana have about a hundred. Happy anniversary and have a great weekend!

Sef: Hope your nap helped you feel better.

Toni: I know how bad the job market is. DH has been looking since last February. He's an accountant and the Enron, Arthur Andersen, WorldCom, and on and on, stuff has made it very hard for him. I'll keep you and your DH in my prayers.

Zanne: Your avatar makes me want to head to the beach. A bubble bath sounds good, too. I put a hole in my tub a while back and can only take showers presently. Our house is 15 years old and the previous owners must have put the cheapest, plastic whirlpool tub they could find in and one night I put the palm of my hand through the bottom. I had to hold it there until the water drained out of the tub so I wouldn't flood the bathroom!:o I felt so silly.

Fillise: Hope the headache's gone. Maybe the food, maybe just the traveling?

Gracious: I don't like zuchinni, so I can't help you there. I will eat it, but only tolerate a little bit.

Heatmom: Hope you and your babies are doing okay. Good wishes coming your way with Boogie's appointment.

CM4H: Shot any bulleyes yet?

I hate to leave such wonderful company, but I still have to mop the kitchen, so I better go. Have a great Friday, y'all!

Hello, everybody!!! Well I started this post on Wednesday and can’t seem to find the time to finish it. So I will just send it and hope you all understand that I haven’t had the time to catch up this week. So sorry. I hate being absent fromthe board. I know I’m missing a lot of great stuff.

Hope you all are well. I have to say that I’m still arguing with those four pounds I lost a couple of weeks ago. They just don’t want to stay gone. Each day it’s up and down, but I know that sooner or later it will be gone. I just have to hang in there. Actually, it’s not the hanging in there that’s the problem. It’s the getting up early and start exercising part that seems to be a holding me up.

BOB----So sorry to hear about the car. That really bites! Those toyotas are good cars. I’m surprised something so horrible happened. Keep us posted on what you decide to do.

THUNDER---Ashley is the sweetest little thing. I’m glad to see that she didn’t snooze through her first big photo op. How great for you! My SIL is due in less than a month. And we are all very excited. This is her third child but her other two are 19 and 17. What a gap there! She is having a girl and she’s been loaded down with allthese wonderful pink clothes and girly goodies. Have you gone to WalMart and seen those McKids things? They are the nicest quality of stuff. I didn’t even know that McDonalds waas branching out into kids clothes.

GATOR---Let me know what you think about the butterflly weed when you find it. I’m wondering how tender-hearted it is. I don’t like plants that need to be coddled. Do you grow clematis in your zone? I have two here. One refuses to bloom on my side of the fence. Truly, it falls over the top of the fence and ONLY blooms on her side. Isn’t that funny?

CHERYL---How cool for you that hubby is admiring the change in your body? Wonderful!!!

JRED---Aren’t you sweet to say I sound perky? Well, let me tell you I do have my low moments. But I find everybody on this board so wonderful, it’s totally easy to be positive on here. I get so excited thinking about how healthy we all are getting. Truly. I know it sounds weird, but it’s just the way I work. Ha!!!

JACK-K----Yes, those nutrigrain bars sound kind of boring now, but let me tell you at the moment they were like a dessert at a five-star restaurant. Call me crazy, but they were really causing me to think in the wrong fashion. I’m getting ready to have something sweet. Think I’ll make some SF pudding or DEB’s cheesecake this weekend. I have a day off tomorrow. I may do it then. Girl, I just looked at your stats under your name, and I am humbled in your presence. How great you are doing! That’s AWESOME!!!!! Keep going. You are closer to your goal that you are to where you started. That’s a good place to be sitting.

GRACIOUS----I feel so bad for you all having those awful plumbing problems when you have company. Why do those kinds of things happen at the most inconvenient times? A couple of weeks ago I had a friend from college here to spend the night. The first night she was here, our AC stopped and it was those horrible hot/high humidity days. I was so embarrassed. Luckily, she and her husband live in an old farmhouse that doesn’t have central air. So our warm house wasn’t anything different that what she’s already used to. DH found out that we simply blew fuses and it was fixed thenext day.

TRANQ---I didn’t know there was an ME calendar. I’m so excited. Does BKM know about this? She’s a big fan. I’m a new fan of hers. This is the only calendar I ever had of hers. Everywhere I go another of my friends has the very same calendar. Way to go on the pop!!! That’s great! Did you drink a lot of it, more than one a day?

TONI---How are you doing? Sounds like you are taking it to that old TM. Keep on going. I’ve had so much trouble getting up in the morning. Very lazy in bed, that’s me! Why are some days harder to get up than others?

MUSIC---If anybody doesn’t deserve ants in their kitchen it’s you. Teaching and doing your WATP tapes before work. Good for you!!! Are your WATP tapes the ones for the abs? I saw another set on QVC yesterday, but didn’t have time to stick around for the full explanation. I was wondering what the difference is.

COUNTRY---Mmmmm, that brisket made my mouth water. I’ve never made that, but have always enjoyed it when others cooked it. Ha!

Well, I’d better go. DH is trying to get up for work, so I’d better go encourage him to keep moving. Sometimes he stalls along the way to the shower. Have a great weekend.

Kim

Happy Friday Gang!:cb:

Boy sure glad it's Friday. It was hot out there this morning. Heat index was at 86, but it was so humid. :flame: Got my 2 miles in and then my workout. We will do a lower body w/o today at lunch time. Have a busy weekend planned. Going to Cincinnati tomorrow morning to shop for wedding dresses. Then back home to pack up a load to move other DD back to UK, then to a birthday party for a friend. Somewhere in there I have to make a dish for the party. Think I'll make DH do that. Help us all.:s:

Sef, What a good way to get to seee all the shows. Enjoy

Tranquil, WW's saying was Bravo!

Bob, Here a :grouphug: just for you! Hope things start looking up.

Thunderwoman, Congratulations on yur beautiful baby girl. She is a tiny one. Wow 23 lbs in one week. You win for the best WIW.

Jred, that's wild about the hole in your tub. Boy is must have been cheap.

Zanne, hope your knee is feeling better.

Quilter, thanks for the kind words about my progress. I'm still hanging but don't think I can make it to goal by my 1 yr anniversary. But I'm giving it a good try. I know what you mean about the pounds coming and going. I ususaly only weigh on WIW. But this week since I didn't lose I jumped on Thursday. Well I was down 2 pounds. I was eaxcited. Jumped on again today since I didn't hav too much to eat yesterday thinking I may be down another pound, no, I was back up those 2 pounds. I think I need to only weigh on WIW. I don't like these mind games. Hang in there, those 4 pounds will go away for good soon. We are coming to Cinny tomorrow to look for wedding dresses. I think the name of the place is Bridal Informal. Sorry I won't be able to meet up with you. There are several girls coming along and we have to hurry back to move other DD back to college and attend a birthday party. Never fails, everything going on in one weekend. We should be there around 11:30 if you are out and about and want to stop in to say Hi. I'll definately catch you the next time though.

Hope this day goes fast.

Have a great one everybody.

Good morning folks! I can't believe this week is finished already. Time really does fly, even when you aren't specifically having fun..I just think it is age!

QUILTER-Good thing yours was only a fuse and easy to fix. Glad hubby figured it out right away for you and you only had to spend one night without the a/c. About those WATP...I have noticed there are different ones out there and she has put out some with Christian themes. I saw it in my Christian Book Club catalogue. She does the walking to Christian music. I have also found that she mentions God in her tapes here and there. She has been in that industry for 20 years now so she must have a few different tape series out there. I did hear that her most recent ones were better because they are less repetitive.

JRED- Scale being the same is better than the scale being higher! I love all the new smilies too. I had to try and use this one so I will remind you that I have chickens and get about a dozen eggs a day! :chicken:

THUNDERWOMAN- You must be on :cloud9: !! Congratulations on having a wee little girl. She looks adorable in her photo. :bb: Is this your first baby and your first c-section? I had 3 c-sections and I always had a rough recovery. I hope yours goes well and you recover easily. I was really out of shape at the time and I don't think that helped. You have done fantastic by only gaining 35 lbs and already having lost the 23 lbs! :cb: You will have that last 12 gone very soon I am sure.

MONET & ZANNE- Here is a ridiculous question but I have to ask it. I loved the sound of your zucchini recipes with filling it with beef etc. But when you go to serve this, do you just cut it like a meatloaf kind of thing and do you eat the peel?? I have never really eaten zucchini before so I am rather dense here. I am not much of a :chef:

ZANNE-The CNE??? I love the CNE. I remember when I was a kid and I would save my birthday money from July to go to the EX in August. Whenever it was time for the EX to roll around we knew it was the end of summer and that it meant that school would be starting so soon. The good ole FOOD Building used to be loaded with every kind of food and it was all such a good bargain. I noticed that over the years they put their prices up and the days of freebies are pretty much gone. But you can still have a real feast there. If you want to! Did you go on the ZIPPER? :yikes: A true oldie but goodie. I hope you had fun at the EX!

JENN- Loved the bouquet :flow1: and I loved the puppy! He is a real cutie.

GATORGAL- Thanks for the zucchini idea. I will certainly try that. I love having all kinds of recipes to choose from for this new zucchini adventure I am taking my family on! :sp: The kids are especially dreading the zucchini so it would be great if I could surprise them with something very yummy. :T

SEF-Hey, where is your usual contributions to the FRIDAY FUNNIES?? You always have such good ones.

I ran out of posts to see so I guess I better stop here. It is only letting me go this far back. Have a great Friday!

ZANNE- I nearly forgot. Here is the url for the Canadian Free Stuff.

http://www.canadianfreestuff.com/

There are a zillion places to look. Some are actually free things that will be sent to your home, others are contests, others are samples from companies. Use a yahoo or hotmail account to have all the confirmations and stuff to go into and you will be all set! I am getting a NASA poster for my son, a Gospel bracelet for my daugther, a carrying case for DD, a colouring book for youngest son. Lots of things for kids and adults. So grab a coffee and have fun looking!

Quick replies:

JACK-K----I have to teach a tutor training class tomorrow, so don't sweat it about not being able to meet up. You have so many things on your plate right now. We will meet soon. Just not tomorrow. Thanks for the reinforcement as to the weight loss. You are a great inspiration and I will keep listening to you.

GRACIOUS----Thanks for the info on the WATP tapes. I really like Leslie! She's very upbeat and positive and she doesn't yell at you the whole time. I think the next time she's on QVC I may buy the abs set. I have one of those belts. Do you?

Later,

Good Friday Morning Everyone:wave:

Just got in from my walk. Only walked the 4.5 miles today, no jogging whatsoever, figured I'd give the knees a little rest. Not that they seemed to be bothering me today, like the one yesterday, but figured I wasn't going to try and see if once I started to jog I'd get the pain again. Took me 1hr 2 min 32 seconds - very slow:snail: Honestly, I didn't really feel like going out today, it was late and of course, the usual heat and humidity is such a killer, but I went, so I'm happy:D

Spent yesterday with my sister and 3 of the girls. The baby was excellent, better than the other 2-unfortunately, she's never this good for my sister. She knows Aunt Debbie loves her to pieces. She's starting to coo and it's so funny when she starts with me and watching her scare herself as she releases these little noises. Took my DS to that farmers market I mentioned that we found on Sunday, she went crazy. Of course, I plunked down a few bucks too. I couldn't believe the size of the lemons they were selling for 5/$1, massive, never seen lemons this big in my life. The best deal were my Asian pears, they had them 3/$1.00-I've never in my life seen them this price. Whole Foods is selling the same size for $1.99 EACH. Needless to say, I bought a dozen, but would of bought more if only I had the room. Give me a good bargain, and I'm happy!

Afterwards, I went to get my car, had dropped it off to get an oil change and to check to see why the brakes keep squeeking 75% of the time, guy cleaned the brake area AND said no charge for the oil change! Didn't tell him this is the 2nd time in a row he's done this, why bother;)

Have a few things to get done today with the kids. Have to drop Michael at a friends house that lives about 25 minutes away to work on a school project. One thing about the school that the kids go to, the kids are scattered all over the county. Some travel so far, they have to wake up at 4am to start getting ready to get the bus to get to school. He has friends all over, which makes it hard when they want to get together, it's not like it's around the corner. Going to try and get Lauren a haircut today, she's been asking and she's due for a trim.

Of course, once on the scale yesterday, again today. Same weight, nothing has changed, though I do feel a bit bloated for some reason. TOM isn't due for another 9 days, so it's not from that. I haven't been able to look up my past history of my weight loss to see just how the body has behaved before, but no matter what, I'm not going to fuss over this because, like I said, I know that I'm eating right, exercising and staying OP like the good ol days, just have to work on the water.

Just found out, now, we have 101 smilies to choose from! Decisions, decisions! Too many to choose from!!! Check them out!!

Okay, going to try and get in a few replies before my time is up and I have to hit the shower and get ready...

TRANQUIL, I am glad YOU are a very happy camper this week! The weight seems to be peeling off this week for you - you deserve it ten-fold! I'm not only so happy for you, I really proud of you too! CONGRATULATIONS!!! I think another visit to the DD is in store! Seems to me, it works wonders;) I too hope I'll be a happier camper next week. Not that I'm totally unhappy, just want the scales to show my efforts a little more and a bit faster. It amazes me how fast the weight can come back on and how much longer it takes to re-lose it. CONGRATS to Gram on the new furry child. I'm sure Fluffy is thrilled with her new cousin!

TONI, that would be great to get your sister to walk with you! Good luck to DH with getting a job.

FILLISE, I personally recommend a dial scale. I use to have a battery operated digital and it was never acurate, esp when the batteries started to die out. It was long ago, so maybe they've gotten better. I have a HEALTH-O-METER now and, as long as no one touches it, love it! Okay, maybe not love it all the time, but as far as mechanically, it suits me fine;)

ZANNE, I can sympathize with the knee pain, had some yesterday, felt like someone had placed a weight in my left knee cap. Hope you have some relief today. The recipe you mentioned for the zucchini, very Lebanese!!

JENN, what a beautiful array of flowers in your bouquet. It reminds me of Fall. The new fur child is adorable, a face a mother could love!

SEF, I'm sure you'll get the best deal on the car you can. I've heard about JUNGLE JIM'S from QUILTER and would love to go there one day. I've been to TRADER JOES, which you've definitely heard me rant and rave about. Take me to a place like that, I'm happy:D Told, you, it doesn't take much to make me happy!

BOB, I can't imagine having to shell out even more money, but like you said, it's better than having to buy another car and do car payments. I would never lease, it's like renting, you have nothing to show for it at the end. If you need to buy, why not think about a one year old car that was used as a rental. I usually keep my cars for 10years, the van is going to be 5 years old, so it better keep me going for another 5+ years. I need some a/c work done now, but keep putting it off due to $$. So glad KiKi is gone from the BB house. I think this is the best BB yet, what do you think?

THUNDER, CONGRATS to you and the family on Ashely's arrival. Looks like she has a little smile in that picture. Glad you are on the mend AND to find out you didn't have much of a gain. I'm sure in a few weeks you'll find yourself but only a few pounds higher than before you got pregant, I'm sure you still have some effects from the surgery. Keep us informed how everything is going with both you and DD.

JRED, I am definitely an easy read. You can tell when I'm having a good day/week, or a bad one. I don't hide my feelings well. I'll be putting this to the test once again today, as you can read below re ELI.

QUILTER, glad to see you checking in. Keep up the right attitude and you'll see, those 4lbs will be permanent history.

JACKK, too bad you can't meet up with QUILTER in Cin, so close! Going to JUNGLE JIM'S? Good luck in finding the dress for DD, I hope it's enjoyable for you and not stressful.

That's it, gotta run. If I failed to reply to any posts directed towards me, forgive me, it wasn't intentional. I send out lots of {{HUGS}} to you all :grouphug:

Oh, lets see what happens today, ELI has NOT mentioned our Anniversary at all, which is today. I am sure he's forgotten. He's bound to get on the official :censored: list if he has, though I won't be any too surprised.

I will try to check in later today. Tomorrow I won't be checking in til later, I have to be at the kids school tomorrow for orientation for the both of them and to help get volunteers for our foundation for Michael's magnet program.

Have a wonderful day and a fabulous weekend!

Good morning everyone. Slept late again so I'm on the run.. Have to be out the door in a few minutes...

Zanne- your zucchini sounds good. Makes me wish I had one. But I guess its chicken stir fried brown rice for us tonight. Hope your knee feels a little better today.

Bob- so sorry about the car. But I understand not getting those payments on a new car. Heck yours should last forever after its fixed. How bout that Big Bother. Thought Roddy was going to get the ax.

Thunderwoman- Congradulations on your new beautiful baby girl. Hope you're on the mend. Wow you lumped a bunch of weight off.

jred- Thanks for the job prayers. I'll send one up for you too.

Tranquil- Way to go on losing another lb. of butter!!!!

The Quilter- Sounds like we're both having a fight with a few lbs. I think I'm getting lazier... I just can't get up in the morning.

Jack-K- Way to go on the walking. Have fun at the party...

TRANQUIL- :cb: :cb: :cb: You definitely deserve 3 GROOVING BANANAS!!! Way to go girl!!

I failed to mention that yesterday we had a wonderful trip down to the Bay of Fundy. We collected some rocks for my flower garden and did a 1.5 hour hike on one of the walking trails in the Irving Nature Park. It was beautiful and a good workout with rough terrain and hills.

I just joined my daughter and I up for Sewing Classes! We are very excited. I have this wonderful sewing machine that I just *had to have* from our first anniversary and have never really used it. I made some granny pj's and a couple of lame drapes but that is it. Thirteen years of marriage later and I finally take a class with the daughter that I had wanted to be able to make clothes for! Who'd a thunk it? Anyway, we are both looking forward to this. It doesn't start until Sept 18th but when it does, it will be great.

I am going to make the ZANNE/MONET Zucchini recipe tonight. I think it will taste great and I will let you know how it goes. Okay, enough water break, I better get to work.

I have been OP since Tuesday and I am back at 230 already:cb: Only one more pound to go before I'm back on track. I even went to Wendy's yesterday and stayed legal. Normally, I always order a burger combo. This time I ordered a taco salad without the chips, very yummy:T Also, the only starchy carbs I've had since Tuesday is the beans in the Wendy's chili. I have set a mini goal for myself- I want to be at least 10 pounds lighter by Sept.25th. Anyway, Boogie's appt went well. Children's Hosp is suppossed to call me within the next 2 weeks for the surgery date.

I just received a call from Serene, and she misses the Board, but has been very busy running from appointment to appointment, filling out job applications, just getting life in order with Husband out of the picture.... She is doing better emotionally, but she is having female problems, and the doctor is not rushing things, so she is very uncomfortable, unhappy about that, and so her eating is not the best.....

Toni - thank you for the great visual of the 1lb of butter! It always helps to see how much the pound really is visually.....

Gracious - thank you for the 3 grooving bananas - they definitely brought cheer and encouragement.

Deb - thanks - I am feeling so good - definitely will need another visit - hopefully very soon!!!! You were a lot of help to me that weekend in seeing a few things I could change....

Just checking in,

Getting ready to head out finally and meet some friends for happy hour and enjoy my glass of wine. Then off to watch some friends play volley ball and then to watch DD play also.

Tranquil, Way to Go!!!! You are just melting away. Before long we won't be able to find you. Makes your day so much brighter doesn't it. Keep up the good work. My you did drink alot of diet sodas. That is an big accomplishment for your then. Congrats Thanks for the update on Serene. Send our good thoughts her way. Give her some of your divine wisdom to help her stay op.

Deb, You are the of bargain shopping. You always get the best bargains. Try putting some of those lemons in your water. Make it better. Don't you just love babies. Shame they grow up. Good deal on the car too, I wouldn't say anything, next time it might be free again. Happy Anniversary. How many years? I bet Eli will remember. I hope so for his sake. Enjoy your day. Sounds like you are the taxi today. I don't know anything about Jungle Jim's but might check it out if I run into it.

Heartmom, You go girl!! You are doing great. Keep working at the mini goal and you will be kickikng some butt in no time. Glad everything went well with Boogie.

Guess who has been OP all day so far :D

Why yes, That would be ME!!!!! :cb:

I went to get some clothes today, and while trying them on (yes I'm still in the 14's comfortably... but wish I were smaller) I got so frustrated at how my body looks!! I didn't like the clothing choices for my shape, or how things looked hanging on me. Well.. I ended up at Target, and was in the checkout line and came SO CLOSE to buying something :nono: but I told myself if I did that, it would be even longer before I could wear those other thing!! So I passed right by it all!!

I've had an omelet, some Uncle Sams cereal, some salad, a 'sandwich' of sorts using turkey, cheese and wrapping it in a WW tortilla instead of on bread... and I allowed myself a little piece of legal dark chocolate for being a good girl :)

I think I might have just jumped back on the motivation train and I'm hoping I didn't get a faulty seatbelt ;) It felt so powerful to be able to NOT buy that candy. I was driving home like... wow... I just DIDN'T buy that candy. How great is that... LOL.

I know it's just step one in a process of getting my :censored: back in gear... but hey, if you don't take a step you don't move, right?

See Y'all later... gotta go get the kids ready to go to the grandparents for the night ... and get some laundry done!

HiedieHo All!

The play last night was wonderful. There were some beautiful voices. We really had a nice time.

Today I left early this morning for a seminar in Lakeview Presbyterian Church in N.O. The lasy who drove is from N.O. so she took us around the area she grew up in and then home. Another nice time!

Got home about 3:30. Went to Hobby Lobby and picked up a frame for half price for the Habitat project I made. Then to WD to get some fixings for supper. I had hamburger and onions already browned, threw in some diced tomatoes, Rotelle tomatoes and WW elbows, presto supper is done!

ZANNE: Ouch with the knee, hope it's better soon.

THUNDER: Best wishes! Glad all is well! Ashley is a cutie! My GD's name is Ashley.

DEB: Okay one of my usual senior moments. Jungle Jim/Trader Joe's!

Know I missed some, but I am stirring supper in between and lost my place.

Take care, Shirley

Cuckoo Clock

The other night I was invited out for a night with "the girls." I told my husband that I would be home by midnight.... "I promise!" Well, the hours passed and the champagne was going down way too easy. Around 3 a.m., drunk as a skunk, I headed for home.

Just as I got in the door, the cuckoo clock in the hall started up and cuckooed 3 times. Quickly, realizing he'd probably wake up, I cuckooed another 9 times. I was really proud of myself for coming up with such a quick-witted solution (even when smashed), in order to escape a possible conflict with him.

The next morning my husband asked me what time I got in, and I told him 12 o'clock. He didn't seem disturbed at all. Whew! Got away with that one!

Then he said "We need a new cuckoo clock." When I asked him why, he said,

"Well, last night our clock cuckooed three times, then said 'Oh ****!', cuckooed 4 more times, cleared it's throat, cuckooed another 3 times, giggled, cuckooed 2 more times, and then farted!

FISHING

A couple went on vacation to a fishing resort up north. The husband liked to fish at the crack of dawn. The wife liked to read. One morning the husband returned after several hours of fishing and decided to take a short nap. Although she wasn't familiar with the lake, the wife decided to take the boat. She rowed out a short distance, anchored, and returned to reading her book. Along came the sheriff in his boat.

He pulled up alongside her and said,
"Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?"
"Reading my book," she replied...
as she thought to herself, duh-isn't it obvious?
"You're in a restricted fishing area," he informed her.
"But officer, I'm not fishing. Can't you see that?"
"Yes, but you have all the equipment.
I'll have to take you in and write you up."

"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with rape,"
snapped the irate woman.
"But, I haven't even touched you," complained the sheriff.
She replied, "Yes, that's true, she replied,
"but you do have all the equipment."

A REDNECK LETTER

Dear Billy joe Bob,
I'm writting this slow because I know you can't read fast. We don't live where we did when you left home. Your Pa read in the newspaper that most accidents happen within 20 minutes of your home, so we moved. I won't be able to send you the address because the last family that lived here took the house numbers when they moved so they wouldn't have to change their address.
This place is really nice. I even has a washing machine. I'm not sure it works so well, though, Last week I put a load of clothes in and pulled the chain, we haven't seen it since.
The weather isn't bad here. It only rained twice last week; the first time for three days and the second time for fourdays.
About that coat you wanted me to send; your Uncle Bubba said it would be too heavy to send in the mail with the buttons on, so we cut them off and put them in the pockets.
Bubba locked his keys in the car yesterday. We were really worried because it took him two hours to get me and your father out.
Your sister had a baby this morning, but I haven't found out what it is yet so I don't know if you are an aunt or uncle. The baby looks just like your brother.
Uncle Bobby Ray fell into a whiskey vat last week. Some men tried to pull him out but he fought them off and drowned. We had him cremated; he burned for three days.
Three of your friends went off a bridge in a pickup truck. Butch was driving. He rolled down the window and swam to safety. Your other two friends were in the back, they drowned because they couldn't get the tailgate down.
Your Favorite Aunt

well, this is my 3rd post, though I have been reading for about two weeks before the server changed. I don't post often, mainly read, but if I do, then u can bet it'll be a few paragraphs.
I thank everyone for their warm welcome and advice. I didn't really miss WIW, only in posting, not in spirit. I only weigh "officially" on my scales as work, because that is where I first saw my weight at a "high" number. if I check on any other scales, (don't currently own any) I always weigh less cause at work I can subtract 3 lbs for my steel toed shoes. ( yes, I know what they weigh, lol) I checked in 1 lb down, for a total of 9 lbs in 6 wks into this woe and the difference in inches in my clothes is at least 15. would be happy with another 5 in the next six weeks. I didn't get to be a big girl overnite. guess I'm one of those people who doesn't have a thing with cheating, no I'm not perfect, but I can list you on one hand the times that I've cheated and I won't need all my fingers!! I think I read where someone told someone that they were the kind u'd luv to hate, but can't help but love. well, I like knowing that I'm eating healthier, and believe me it's hard to do in this little southern town in Tenn. EVERYTHING"S got BREADING, nothing is wheat flour and if it is it's ENRICHED!! It's a real "#$@^&" to shop around here.

to the chick that's getting married and having surgery (ur in my prayers) I don't remember ur exact name, I think JENinMN, (always has great pics) said u hated shopping, u go GIRL, me too!! the only place around here to get any kind of variety is to go wally world, aka super walmart. okay, I work nites, ( thank u to the two that mentioned they'd done or are doing nites,.....I think is was BETH3457, or BETH NO#?, forgive me if I'm not correct with nicknames yet, who lives south of me and works 2nd and 3rd split, my lunch buddy), neway, nites, so I can go to wally world before everybody gets there so it's not too bad. when I do go I always spend mucho $ and try to stock up. gonna try to cook up a few things this weekend and put in freezer. my biggest dilemma has been creamer in my coffee, don't like sweetner, just creamer. I thank the woman who said that's the only bad thing she does and I thank the woman who told me illegal is illegal even if it has no SUGARS. I also thank the woman who told me to try evaporated milk, u said u used lite but I had a can of regular and tried it. it was creamier, but it had this SMELL, trying to get past it. tell myself it's that way or the highway.
to the one that is getting a much needed divorce, I think it's HEART____,......... GIRL, I've been in ur shoes!!! I voted in the poll as divorced but my, (ours soon to be), category wasn't listed ---- DIVORCED, HAPPILY SINGLE ----. Please lean on me if u need a little encouragement, I can tell u what u have to look forward to!!! hope to be in the chat room soon.
BOB, ur handle was easy because ur pro TN, hate that u had car trouble but will tell u my story, I had a 1986 buick from 1989 till 2000. the car had 49,000 miles on it when I purchased it. kept it up, had normal things, like alternator, bearings, water pump, radiator, gaskets, etc.....at that point in time maintenance was cheaper than a payment. THEN, it jumped time, it's like somebody telling u that u threw a rod, I got the job done for less because a friend did it, but he had another job and I had to bum a ride for a month!!! so $500-$600 later I finally had wheels, went another yr and the a/c went out, and believe me u can't go anywhere nice if ur all sweaty!! wasn't a quick fix so I burned up summer of 1999 and finally in mid-july 2000 I had to rethink my ride. I hadn't had a pymt since since '94 and didn't wanna do it. I did bookkeeping at a car dealership for a few yrs so I knew about wheeling and dealing. I don't travel alot, but I have a sister in OH, so now I can drive there if I ever get the time off from work. reliability has been well worth the pymt.
to the chick who has zuchinni galore, make lasagna using zuchinni sauteed slices for noodles, or, slice in halves, scoop out the seed pod and fill w/ sour cream and spices, or cottage cheese and spices, or ranch dressing ( or any other legal filling u can think of) then put halves back together, refrig then slice.
to the woman with the ANTS, I'm here for u 2 GIRL. I live in a community called "cotton villa", but it should be called "ant villa". u asked for suggestions, I spray 3 ft up the side of my house and 3ft out twice a yr with diazion (sp), get it at our local coop but it's available most anywhere?, it does not harm flowers and shrubs, not sure about animals, use an indoor equivalent around cabinets and also know that old tyme remedy is cayenne pepper, just beware of both with small children and pets.

would like some suggestions for "quick sumptin ta eat", getting kinda burnt out on my current choices. also, how do u "shred" lettuce, and how do u keep it fresh longer than three days? yeah, I'll cook this weekend, burnt out on the standbys, need sumptin new. my favorite "it will make anything taste good", are cheese, sour cream and/or cottage cheese, tomatoes, etc, but what will I do next? used to doing with what I have on hand, trying to stock up on sumptin new. especially luv cabbage and cauliflower and anything spicy, and have found that their recipes can be made with either. have made cabbage and cauliflower scalloped, au gratin, and am gonna make lasagna (using cabbage for noodles) this weekend, tho I use the microwave version of all these, would be glad to pass along how I do it. zuchinni woman, I think the recipes for cabbage and cauliflower would work for ur zuchinni galore.

I know that there's others I've noticed but have not mentioned but this is getting really long. everyone has puter blitzs, so please understand that I'm on my notepad at the moment and hit save everynow and then, hope it all will cut and paste!!! if it did, ur reading this now.

BEST to everyone,
jonna (mcjonjon)

Well, it arrived last night and I'm a little surprised that I'm not in pain. We'll see what tomorrow holds with this monthly, now every 3 weeks, inconvenience.

Beth::dancer: :twirly: Way to Go, Girlfriend!!! You showed great will power and determination to pass right on by that evil candy. Keep it up and you'll be in those smaller clothes in no time. Does DS still have his girlfriend. It's about time for a change, isn't it? ;) . My DD switched boyfriends about every 10 days when she first started "liking" boys.

Deb: :queen: Happy Anniversary. We love you! I'm sure Eli will be a loving hubby and surprise you with something wonderful.

Gracious: Love your chicken. How many do you have to get 12 eggs a day?

Tranquil: Congrats on the continued weight loss. It's great to start down again. I may be on the way down, too. Was at 160 this morning with TOM just beginning. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Jack-K: Have a great time shopping for that dress. Don't forget your box of KLEENEX!!!

McJonJon: I don't think I've welcomed you, so welcome. You have some interesting suggestions for the zuchinni. They might even make it palpable to me.

Sef: Loved your redneck letter!! Forwarded it to DS and DH. They get a kick out of things like that.

Quilter: Hey:flow2:

Hope you all have a wonderful time whatever your weekend plans. I have orchestra rehearsal for our concert on Sunday night. It's called the Full Circle concert because we are doing all kinds of music: Classical, Southern Gospel, Contemparary Christian, and hymns. It's going to be fun, but lots of work. I had to go buy a long black skirt to wear and I had to get a size 10.:cloud9: It was wonderful to tell the girl at the fitting room I needed a smaller size!

Take care, Y'all!

OH MY GOSH!!!! I HAVE HAD DEB'S CHEESECAKE AND MY LIFE IS FOREVER CHANGED!!!!! Honestly, I know to believe what you all say, but I was not even ready to LOVE this cheesecake as much as I did. I now totally understand what you mean about wanting to eat the whole thing. I'm already planning when I can eat another piece tomorrow. This is the first sweet treat I've had since the first part of June, so I guess I was finally ready.

Okay, that's all I have time for tonight. I just wanted to give a thumbs up report. Have a good weekend you all.

Good Morning Ladies,

I finally found my way back to the board. Scanned the posts really quick & can't respond to much, but want to say that I'm missed everyone here.

Thunder You have been on my mind lately & now I see why. Congratulations on you new baby girl. SHAAAAAAA, she's so cute. & that ribbon in her hair is just toooo cute!

BOB I hear you about the car problems. So sorry that you're having all this trouble. I think my DD's car was a Toyota Tercel also. I say WASA because it left her on the road Tuesday after work. Seems like a cracked head. Has water mixed with the oil. Had been running hot & this time got too hot & left her on the road on her way home from work. Now I'm on foot so that she can have transportation back & forth to work since she has to go out of town for her work. I'm having to hitch a ride back & forth & also to pick up the boys at daycare around 4pm each day. Not sure how I'm going to manage this, but I must! We're praying for a miracle for her because she still owes $800 on the car & just can't afford another payment of any kind. We co-signed a loan for her to get that car! Well, enough complaining. Just wanted you to know that you are definitely NOT alone in your car problem. Will add you to my prayers for a solution for you too.

SEF, That Cuckoo Clock joke was just toooooo funny. You had me ROTFLOL!!! I'm glad I was alone when I read it or DH would have thought I was finally loosing it! LOL

Well GALS, got to go. Have a busy day ahead. Drppoed DH off at church at 6am. He's off to a SS workshop meeting in Alex today so I've got the day to myself. Need to be in Lafayette in an hour, so I'd better hit the road. Will try to check in this evening when I get back.

My secret friend during Hospital week in May gave me a certifcate for a half hour WATER MASSAGE at the mall. Have not had a chance to use it yet, so I think today is THE day. My neck & shoulder are still hurting me so bad, so I'm hoping that it will help.

Bye now!

Good afternoon all. We got a heck of a storm last night. (Remember my DH works nights on the week-ends) and a big ball of light and a big pop went off in the hallway. It scared me and my little boston terrier to death. I was afraid to get out of bed. But this morning everything is alright. Sure needed all that rain. Made me some really good fried chicken rice for dinner. Guess tonight I'll make a meatloaf. I didn't sleep after 3:30 this morning so guess this is a good day to lay around, mess with the computer and read a bit..

Bob- Sorry about your Mom. Hope shes doing better today.... Yep all the good stuff is coming up. I love Survivor.... And this is the best Big Brother!

Tranquil- Tell Serene we're thinking of her... Hope you're doing good as well..

heartmom- Howdy hope you're doing okay..

Jack-K- Sounds like a great Friday evening. Hope you had a nice time...

Beth- Loved your upbeat post! Way to go girlfriend. No candy, no clothes..... You're on your way..

Sef- Sounds like the music was great and you had a good time. Your dinner sounds yummy.

mcjonjon-wow congradulations on your great weight loss... I think I haven't met you yet. Anyway hello and welcome to SB... I liked your big long post...

jred- I hope your concert goes well. It sounds wonderful.. I would love to hear it... Yea for you and a smaller skirt... Oh I can dream!

The Quilter- I agree Deb's cheesecake is sooo good. I can't make it very often because I can't hardley keep out of it.. But I'll bet you can freeze slices of it..

Melf- Howdy.. Sounds like you're busy busy... The water massage sounds great...

Thought I would take a quick look in now that hubby has stepped out. We have been working all morning here staining the new deck and some tables and chairs. I built a shelf for my bathroom and am cleaning up a storm because we have guests again tomorrow.

MCJONJON- I was laughing my head off while reading your post. I can just *hear* you as I read it! I am the *chick with zucchini galore* as you called me! :D I actually ended up making a version of zucchini lasagna. Once I got in the kitchen things just ended me up that way. It was very yummy though and hubby said it was delicious! :T I also made a cake with zucchini shredded and put into it. One of my kids loved it, the others thought it was weird. :dizzy: I am sure some of the other ladies with have some ideas for you. I am a pretty bland cook. :chef:

JRED- I am not sure how many :chicken: :chicken: we have out there at the moment but I would guess about a dozen or perhaps 18. We also have 2 ducks and they both lay huge eggs every day too.

JACK-K- I am not much of a seamstress either and hubby always makes fun of me. If the kids tear a toy or something and ask me to sew it hubby always pipes up and says they will be waiting a long time! Usually I bring the stuff to the church and get one of the older ladies to sew it for us! :s: Hey, the Pastor's Wife has to have *some* perks!

I better get back to work. I am going to the races again tonight with my neighbour. She is a hoot to be with even though she is over 20 years older than I am! Hubby has work to do so he thought he would get more done without me hanging around...can you imagine that?! :o

HiedieHo All!

Just came back from clothes shopping. Normally an "UGH!" Had a terrible time finding the right size! I think this may be my last time in the Pluses or Women's. Today I was able to buy a sweater jacket in the LADIES DEPT!!!!! How do you like that!?! I bought a pair of slacks with elastic only in the back, and two tops.

MCJON: Lettuce is shredded when you cut it in half top to bottom, lay cut side an board and thin slice it, I thin cut the long oieces into two or three pieces. If you want to keep it from turning brown use a plastic knife, otherwise cut only what you need at one time. You can always cut a few leaves at a time. When I but lettuce I core it by slamming the head hard on the counter top and then opulling the loosened core out. Turn it upside down under the faucet and let the water fill it then empty, I do this a couple of times. Then let it drain in the rack. I keep it in the icebox (okay I'm old! fridge) in a airtight plastic bowl that I put a folded paper towel in the bottom. It will keep a couple of weeks that way. Lasagna using cabbage as noodles? Post the recipe girl!!!

JRED: Sometimes in this age of Political Correctness I worry about posting some things. We sometimes to forget to laugh at ourselves or with others! Isn't it great to be able to get a smaller size. I just automatically gravitated to the bigger sizes and was so pleased I was too small for them!

MELF: Like your jokes too, often take them to NH! A massage! Sounds so nice!

TONI: I freeze the cheesecake and it keeps fine! MOre power to you for staying in bed. Me? I would have gotten up to investigate! I have too vivid an imagination, I would have had the place smouldering ready to burst into flames!

Well, going to get some lunch. A sardine sandwich sounds good!

Take care, Shirley

Boy am I stuffed. :ink: I just made the most yummy snack. I mixed equal parts of home made peanut butter with lowfat cream cheese and splenda. Spread it on apple wedges...oooo weee. For a gal who doesn't care for fruit, it sure it the spot.

I've been reading and enjoying hearing how everyone is doing. Still busy working on graphics and the such. I was suppose to be making stationery this morning but got side tracked and went off chatting. :)

Sef...yip :hat: on the new size!! That is wonderful. Shows you how your hard work and woe is working.

Gracious..I am tired just reading your post. You are always busy doing something constructive. That is great. ((hugzz)) Have fun at the races.

Toni..that would have scared me to death..I'd have been up searching the whole house..would have been no sleep for this ole gal.

jred...super on the size 10! You slim thing you. :) Doesn't it feel GREAT.

mcjonjon welcome! I enjoyed your post very much.

Well my messenger is buzzing and a dear friend is finally online. Gonna scoot and visit with her a bit. Hope you are all having a safe wonderful weekend.

Hello All!

Well, I just got home from Tutor Training and I am beat!!! Really need a nap (5:50 a.m. seems ultra early when it comes on Saturdays!), but we have to head out in a few minutes to celebrat MIL's birthday. She's turning 65 and I guess this is BIG one. She's all excited. I think I will despise the restaurant they chose, but we'll go and see what's what.

Confession: I had to have a piece of cheesecake when I got home. Okay, I'm addictd. Now I fullyl understand the panic with the agave shortage. I'm considering NOT sharing the cheesecake with Paul because of the very little amount of agave I have. That was another confession. Oh it's so good for the soul.

TONI----Let's make a deal! Let's commit to each other that we will get up and get our exercising in this week. How many days do you want to do? I'm game if you are. No pressure. Just thinking this kind of thing may help us both. I sure need an incentive.

I keep forgetting to tell you that I heard from KIMMYTHEKID. She's fine, just super busy. I guess it's pretty complicated to get 5 kids ready for school. She sends her love and considers herself with us, just absent lately. She's be back on soon. I'm keeping after her so that she doesn't do what I did and skip out for many months. (I still can't believe I did that!)

Okay, I have no more time to write. If any of you have said stuff to me and I haven't responded, I am so sorry. I got behind on my reading this week and I fear that I have ignored some of you. Please know that it's NOT intentional. I would never slight any of you.

Hugs,
Kim

Ok, I think I'm going to move into the mall at the Water Massage place! That was soooooo awesome!!!! I decided to split up my 30 min session into 2-15 min ones so that way I can go back. If any of you ladies ever get a chance to get one of these, don't pass it up. Believe me, it's worth the time & the money.

I think I'm going to go take a nap now cause it's raining & I'm exhusted. Have to work 12 hrs tomorrow.

Bye all!

Good Saturday Evening All:wave:

Thought I'd try and get in a post before the night ends. It's been a long day and now that the house is quite and I'm alone I figured this was as good a time as any. The kids are with their Dad and poor ELI is still at work and by the time he gets home and to bed, he'll of been up for 24 hours straing:eek:

Had a busy morning at the school and we signed up quite a few new families for membership and I got some volunteers. Hoping once we have Academy Night on Sept. 10th that we'll get more parents involved.

ELI called me while I was out yesterday and actually did remember our anniversary, I figured he had forgotten but remembered later in the day. When he got home I had a card waiting for him and then wondered where mine was - he actually had one, so I have to give him credit, he did indeed remember beforehand. He wanted to go out to dinner, though I really wasn't in the mood to go, I had eaten a bit before he had come home and wasn't hungry, he, on the other had was hungry and wanted to go o ut, so out we went to Outback. I shared my dinner with Lauren, so didn't do too bad.

This morning I got on the scale and was down another pound to 128.5. Shoot, I sure wished I hadn't eaten that meat last night, which really put me over on calories. I'd maybe been down a bit more - oh well. I did well today, so hopefully that will make it less of a problem.

ELI was suppose to work tomorrow but luckily he'll have the day off, well, at least til the early evening, then he has to go back to work for inventory:( I am going be hitting JCPenneys tomorrow night with my sister, it's associates night, so we get an extar 30% off everythin!
Does anyone know how to say BARGAIN!!!!:D

Okay, enough boring news, now to try and get some replies done...I may not reply to everyone, so I hope you all understand and send you all my hello and {HUGS}

JONJON, I don't really drink coffee, though ELI is trying to change that. I have never had cream in sugar, or much else, but I can tell you that I know that there is a creamer called OTNEVA, I acutally bought it when I saw it was marked down. Gave some to my Mom. It says it's fat free and that it's real milk powdered creamer. Has 20 calories per packet and less than 2 grams of sugar. Can't tell you how it tastes, but if you want, e-mail me with your snail mail addy and I'll be happy to send you a couple packets for you to try for yourself. To shred lettuce, get yourself one of those lettuce knives which are made of plastic, or just use a plastic knife-it's the metal that turns the lettuce brown. Use on of those veggie bags to keep it in. Check out the recipe boards from some good ideas!

JRED, nope, you were wrong, just got a dinner. I think with time and lack of money that presents are a thing of the past. I guess his love is more important than any gift, though I have to admit, a token other than food would be nice:^:

QUILTER, told ya so!!!!! Got your e-mail, guess what you mentioned is long gone, not sure what was up with that either.

MELF, I LOVE THAT MASSAGER AT THE MALL!!! If it's the same one where you lie in it and the water jets pulse all around you but don't get you wet, you are going to love it! You feel so relaxed and come out feeling like jello! Oops, just read you had your first experience of this wonderful machine, isn't it devine!!!!!

TONI, I'm with you on the lack of sleep. I've been up since 4:30am and for the life of me couldn't get myself back to sleep. Even thought about running early but decided that I deserved at least one morning off. Hope we both sleep a lot better tonight!

SEF, you go girl, getting out of the plus sizes, WOO HOO! I, still to this day tend to go in the larger sized area. I guess it's just habit, one that I hope to break one day. People look at me like, what the heck are you doing in this area-if they only knew.

Okay gals, I'm outta here for the night. I hope you all have a wonderful and peaceful Sunday and I'll check in with you when I get a chance sometime tomorrow.

Well, today I stayed legal- BUT I was so ravenous today and just ate and ate. I had way too many mixed nuts, way too many wheat crackers and cheese, and too much other stuff. I guess it's better than eating McDonald's or something- but probably not that much. As you can tell, I feel really guilty about it. Guess it could have been worse, so I'll quit complaining and watch those crackers and nuts tomorrow! I just hope it didn't sabotage my weight loss too bad.

Good Sunday Morning:hypno2:

!#$#:censored:^*_# Poor ELI! :stress: Phone rang at 5:30am and he had to go back to work. I don't know how he's running on empty. I know how I feel with the lack of sleep:tired: I've gotten recently and I know I have no room to complain knowing how very little he's gotten. He's like the walking dead:faint:

Since I'm up I'm trying to get myself in the mood to exercise this morning, still too dark outside to go so hopefully in a little bit it will be just enough light for me to go and I'll have the desire to go-just pooped.

Guess my original plans of going out with my sister are going to just be that-oh well!

Okay, I'm outta here, will check in later today at some point. Hoping to get to bed early tonight - tomorrow is SCHOOL!!!!!! :cp:

Have a great day!

A quickie...

Had the best jog/walk in a long time today. I did the usual 4.5 miles and jogged 4.3 of those miles straight without stopping, no walking! Don't know what got in to me, maybe it was that I got an earlier start and it wasn't as hot, but whatever it was, I hope I get it again! I really didn't care much about time, it was distance and stamina I was trying for today, though my time was better than it has been at 48:27:D

Nice way to start the day today!!!

Congratulations on the smaller size!!
I can't remember the last time I shopped in the "regular" side.

Deb thanks for the ebay tip on the power belt I would never have thought of looking there.

Beth that's so awesome that you were able to bypass that candy bar the other day and have found your motivation again!
Whenever I want to eat something illegal I just think "If you eat that you'll slow down the weight loss, is it worth it?" It usually isn't.

My craving for bad food is gone.
It's weird to go out to eat and watch everyone pigging out on bread and breaded appetizers and have absolutely no desire to eat any of it.

It's a hot day in the southwest, boy-howdy!! I feel like I'm living in TEXAS!:smug: It's so hot the dog just waved at the squirrel as he scampered by. (My attempt at some of that cowboy humor. Still need some work, don't I?)

Deb: I know what you mean about time and finances taking it's toll on presents. But hey, at least he gave you a card and dinner. Our 24th was on the 12th and I didn't get a card and had to cook my own dinner!:( This job hunt situation is so stressful for all of us and I am trying very hard to keep my mouth shut about the little things DH is doing to get on my nerves. But I did blow up the other night and told him he was yelling at us and being a jerk and I couldn't stand it any more. I sure hope he gets a job offer SOON!

Did you see where our pediatric resident that was on Houston Medical passed away? DH saw it on CNN's news email digest. That makes me sad, she was such a fighter. And she loved being a doctor. Remember her family in your thoughts and prayers, everyone.

Heart: You are right. At least your over indulgences were with legal foods. I overdid it on starchy carbs yesterday. It was as if my body needed them. I probably ate 4 servings: 2 of whole wheat triscuits and 2 shredded wheat and bran. The cereal was my supper with some blueberries mixed it, so it was healthy. And I'm hoping it helps me in the potty department :o More info than you wanted or needed, I know.

Melf: That massager looks interesting at the mall. The only thing, there's always a big crowd around watching the person in it. Even tho they're fully dressed, I think I'd have a complex being on display. I did have a facial at the beauty shop yesterday. It was wonderful. My BD is in a couple of weeks and I'm seriously thinking about a massage. My salon is also a day spa and that's what I did for my birthday last year. It was heavenly. Like Deb said, I felt like jello afterwards. And that wasn't even in the water.

Gracious: It is so great that you and hubby can work together on projects. We can do little things, like change the heating element in the oven, but big things, like construction, we tend to get in each ohter's way and squabble over things. I do have to give my family credit: they followed directions splendedly in the painting project. DH even complemented the job last week saying how much he liked the color and that we did the right thing. Now if I can just get him to let me redo the floors. I'm scared to replace the kitchen by myself, but can't afford to hire someone. Want to visit TEXAS??

Today is our big concert at church. We had dress rehearsal last night and I found out not only am I playing my violin, but I have to figure out a way to get all the way across the pulpit to the alto section so I can sing some of the pieces. From my seat, I'll either have to run up the stairs behind me and down the hall behind the sancturary choir loft or walk right in front of everybody. I'm curious to see what the choir director says today. He may say just stand in the soprano section and sing my alto part!:dizzy:

Cherylco: Isn't it amazing how those cravings disappeared when we detoxed from the sugar? People just don't know what it's doing to them!

Hope everyone has a restful day. I'm not. HeHe. But I'm going to have an enjoyable day. I love playing and singing, but not at the same time.

Think of me tomorrow: I must go back to work officially. We have our district convocation tomorrow and head to our schools for meetings and staff development. The kiddos arrived on Thursday. My vacation is now over.

Take care,
:genie: Jeanie

Good Sunday morning all.. Just finished some oatmeal. Its a little gloomy looking out today and promises to be cooler.. Yea for Missouri.. I step on the scales this morning and I think I'm losing. Sure hope its that way WIW.

gracious-Oh my gosh I'll bet everything is so nice at your house. What a job to stain the deck and stuff. And then a shelf for the bathroom. Oh I just love to hear stuff about your animals... I've always wanted ducks. The races sound great, have fun.. I can't sew a stitch either. So I have to take stuff to my sis to be fixed. Sometimes now don't laugh my DH even does it. But no one wants to let me lose with a needle..

Sef-Yoo hoo on shopping in a new dept. Makes me dream to have jeans without an all elastic top. Oh my gosh a sardine sandwich. I haven't heard of that in years..

CountryMom-Wow on the peanut butter snack. Oh I would love to make stationary if I knew how...

The Quilter-Hope you had fun at the birthday party... LOL on the cheesecake.. I know just how you feel... When I made mine my DH ate one piece and then was afraid to eat another.. I'd threatened him if he got up in the night and ate it he was dead meat... Okay with me about the exercising. How bout all 5 days? Is that good with you?? Great idea!!!

Melf- Poor you 12 hours! What is a water massage? Opps Debilli explained it...

Debilli- Oh my gosh Eli is sure putting in the hours... Congrads on getting a lb. off and probably will be more by WIW. Hope you got some rest last night... Oh my gosh yea for you gal on your walk/jog... What a good feeling that is!!!

Heartmom-Jump right back on the wagon and you should be fine. Some days are harder than others. I've heard if you are hungry its because you've eaten to many carbs. They're what trigger that feeling off. But you're really right its way better than McDonalds!

cherylco- Great for you getting rid of the cravings. Doesn't it make things so much easier....

Well hi ho hi ho its off the computer I go... Have a great Sunday all!

It's going to be so much easier knowing that we're trying to conquer this together. I will get out of bed if I know somebody is expecting me to do it.

Another New York Times article today
in the Sunday magazine. Someone should give him a recipe for a low carb blueberry pie.

A Dieter's Dilemma
By JASON EPSTEIN

In August and September, as the blueberry crop advances northward across Long Island on its way to Canada, I like to bake a blueberry pie, to which I add an entire lemon, including the peel, coarsely chopped. By the time the pie is baked, the peel and its pith caramelize and give the berries a surprising tang. A tablespoon or two of arrowroot doesn't quite absorb all the lemon juice, but I prefer my blueberry pie a little runny, not glutinous and stiff with cornstarch like pies from the bakery. I enjoy the way a scoop of vanilla ice cream melts into the warm juice.

During blueberry season, I usually make a dozen or so of these pies, their top crusts lightly browned with egg wash and accented with little rivers of purple syrup. But this year I'm not making any. And when they ripen, I'm not cutting up plump Golden Delicious or crunchy Mutsu apples from the Milk Pail in Water Mill on Long Island and laying the thick slices out neatly in circles in caramelized sugar and butter on the tarte Tatin pan that I bought from Fred Bridge in the 1960's. Nor will I be topping the apples with a thin sheet of buttery pie dough and sliding the tarte in the oven for 50 minutes at 360 degrees, to keep the apples from sticking to the pan the way they would at a higher temperature. And I won't be adding a tablespoon of flour to thicken the syrupy apple juice, because a tarte Tatin, unlike a blueberry pie, should not be runny at all.

Never again will I make the buttery muffins that I used to bake on Sunday mornings. I am also giving up ketchup, which is mainly corn syrup flavored with tomato and vinegar. Moreover, I'm going to think twice before I buy another Walla Walla onion, laden with sugary carbohydrates, or the wonderful rolls from Amy's Bread. That probably means no more hamburgers either and, for that matter, no more onion marmalade, the perfect accompaniment to magret de canard (the breasts of moulard ducks, the kind raised for foie gras), sautéed until warm and pink inside, then sliced and fanned out on the plate accompanied by the marmalade, a silky reduction of a half-dozen large, sweet onions -- a critical mass of carbohydrate waiting to turn itself into body fat.

According to Dr. Robert Atkins, 60 percent of the American population is perilously plump, an endangered group from whose condition I have been withdrawing for the past month at the rate of a pound every other day. I am especially wary of pecan pie, of which a single triangular slice contains three times the daily amount of carbohydrate permitted during the two-week initiation phase -- Atkins calls it the Induction Phase -- of his diet. This is the phase I have recently completed, having lost 10 pounds. I am now well into the Ongoing Weight Loss (O.W.L.) phase, with the permission of my wise friend and physician Stanley Mirsky, who for years has been urging me to avoid carbohydrates. But it was to the evangelical pitchman Dr. Atkins, not the stately Dr. Mirsky, that I finally succumbed, goaded by my son, Jacob, who, though not at all plump, lost 27 pounds and reduced his cholesterol in two months on Atkins.

The physiological case against excessive carbohydrates, reported in this magazine seven weeks ago, is fairly straightforward and by now well known. The low-carbohydrate diet, touted originally by Atkins and adopted successfully by millions of his followers, contradicts the widely accepted theory, introduced in the 1980's and later promoted by the Department of Agriculture's Food Guide Pyramid, that carbohydrates should be the basis of the American diet. Most researchers now agree that carbohydrates, especially refined ones like sugar and other vegetable-based sweeteners, white flour and rice, are quickly absorbed as energy by the body, while carbohydrates in excess of the body's immediate needs are stored as fat for future use. A secondary effect of this quick absorption is renewed hunger soon after a high-carbohydrate meal, for example after a Chinatown dinner of noodles, rice, wonton wrappers, egg-roll skins, syrupy ribs and cornstarch thickeners.

A low-carbohydrate diet, on the other hand, not only forces the body to seek energy by consuming its own stored fat but also suppresses appetite, since dietary fat and protein take longer to digest and enter the bloodstream than carbohydrates. Moreover, the body expends more energy burning fat than burning carbohydrates, yielding what Atkins calls ''a metabolic advantage.'' These phenomena explain the quick weight loss, especially during the Induction Phase, which allows only 20 grams of carbohydrates per day, about half the amount in a single bagel.

Even in its rigorous two-week Induction Phase, however, Atkins provides a rich larder of bacon and eggs, steak, lamb, pork and poultry, fish, including most shellfish, cheese, butter, cream (but not whole milk) and green vegetables except leeks, onions, peas and artichokes. Gin, vodka, whiskey and other spirits, according to Atkins, become ''acceptable,'' as does wine. Excluded forever are pasta, pizza, pastries and so on. No more sushi, congee, cookies, cereals, bagels, croissants, pancakes or waffles; no potatoes or corn, though one or two chips with guacamole is allowed. Above all, no more pretzels, which deliver five times as many carbs as potato chips. Orange juice, alas, is also out. But pecans, almonds and macadamia nuts are in.

Despite these restrictions, you can make a splendid breakfast of eggs scrambled through a strainer and cooked gently in a Teflon pan over simmering water, accompanied by warm prosciutto or its Austrian cousin, speck, with a few spears of asparagus, or a lunch of lobster, shrimp or chicken salad with homemade mayonnaise. (My favorite, Hellmann's, contains sugar.) For dinner you can have a pan-roasted rib-eye steak or striped bass with braised fennel or grilled trevisano radicchio. Most cheeses are acceptable, including blue, cheddar, cottage, cream and mozzarella. Tomatoes are iffy, but Atkins includes a recipe for fried green tomatoes using a noncarbohydrate bake mix. He may be an evangelist, but in his recipes he is not inflexible.

For the moment, at least, I seem to have successfully reversed my compulsions. Not only am I no longer addicted to croissants, hash-brown potatoes, blueberry pies and lobster salad stuffed into hot-dog rolls, but I am also slightly repelled by them. For moderately resourceful cooks, a low-carbohydrate diet offers abundant opportunity, and many of the recipes in ''Dr. Atkins's New Diet Revolution'' are worth considering. Nevertheless, I include my recipe for blueberry pie. Perhaps one day, when I am beyond Atkins's O.W.L. phase and into Maintenance, I'll make it again.

HiedieHo All!

Nothing exciting today except church. Wal*Mart as the super store I went to yesterday did not have what I wanted, the shelves were bare. Read, did e-mail, napped. Need a day to catch up with myself and today was it!

COUNTRY: Will have to try your concoction of peanut butter. I like PB on apples.

Now QUILT, you set yourself up not to like a restaurant. Where was your positive attitude? The only reason I thought 65 was a big one was because I would be eligible for Medicare and could drop the high premium private insurance I was carrying!

MELF: Hope you got your rest. 12 hours is a long shift if yo are not used to it. My DD does it regularly and thinks nothing of it.

TONI: Sardine sandwich grosses out my family, but I really like them.

BOB: Who was that woman? The Lone Whirlwind! My you do move!

Well, I didn't whirl today, just gently swayed where I sat!

Take care all!

Well... Today has been a complete success in the way of staying OP... getting ENOUGH calories is another story, but hey I'm working on it!!

Yesterday... uh... I ate a pop tart :faint: But I won't dwell on it... I'm moving onward and upward... or should I say DOWNWARD!!

Today I've stuck to it like glue... legal cereal, chicken, salad, cucumbers in vinegar (my fav!!) ham and cheese on a legal tortilla... I've done well!! I should have had more water instead of crystal light... but like I said... baby steps! At least it wasn't anything with sugar in it!

The :censored: hit the fan at work on Thursday night, things got crazy and I missed a warrant on someone... ugh. It's not the end of the world, but it's frustrating. My boss is one of those people who EVERY TIME she opens her mouth to talk to you, she makes you feel like you're about to be CANNED, even when you're not. She makes everything seem terminal. I'm human, I screw up... especially when I was checking 11 people at the same time, it got hectic!! Anyway, needless to say I worried myself sick about it for the last 2 days and got tired of being worried... so I called her at home today and told her I hoped she realized that I love my job and try VERY hard at what I do... and she seemed to understand. I feel a little better anyway :sorry:

Well... thanks for the encouragement everyone :goodvibes:... I'm doing better than I was... still not exactly where I need to be... but moving in the right direction...

Oh yeah... and I've lost 2 pounds :twirly:

Talk to ya'll later!!! :grouphug:

Hi everyone,

Glad to see everyone is still losing the pounds and inches. I lost 2 more of the lbs that I had gained the last couple of days. I now have lost 28 of the lbs I gained during my pregnancy. I have 12 more to go. The way they are melting off by the end of next week I will have lost all of them. I still have a big knot of swelling where I had my c-section. I still have a week and 2 days before I can drive the car again and thats the pits theres so much that needs doing and I have to bum a ride to do them. My soreness is gradudally leaving day by day. The baby has jaundice so shes been on a bili bed for the last 3 days so I have been very busy taking her temp and nursing her every 3 hours. The nurse called this evening and said it has dropped to 11.8 so she said to take her off thank goodness. Home health is a wonderful thing you don't have to go to the hospital they just bring the bed to your house and draw the blood for the jaundice right at your home.

Well I have had a very busy week but its getting better. This makes the second time I have had a c-section and it seems like this time it was worse than the last time because he had to cut me further into my bellybutton to get to her. And my stomach is bruised pretty much all over. But its getting much better. The baby has gained 3 ounces since last sunday. Shes so different from my other little girl when she was born.....my other little girl (now 4 will be 5 Nov. 2) was taken early at 7 months and and week. Its very different taking care of a full term baby and taking care of a premmie. Plus my other little girl didn't have any hair for 2 yrs. and Ashley has a head full and its dark like mine and hubbys. Danielle is blond.

Well I think I've rambled on enough about my children but darn I'm proud of both of them. :cloud9:

Hope everyone has a great week.

Talk to you all later.:grouphug:
