Don't worry girls....you are not going crazy. They accidentally hid our threads during some site maintainance, as far as I can tell. I think they will be moving them back, but until then, I hope everyone can find this :) I wanted to share this link with everyone.......please donate generously if you can. Mental illness has a terrible stigma and NAMI is fighting hard to make positive changes in this area of medicine. Our dear friend, Jillian, will be walking for them....so let's all support her great efforts ;)

Ok, I have much work to do today, and I haven't even worked out yet......eeeeeee.

Good morning everyone. In the thread last week they said that they were ending the LAWL threads because we were not posting enough. SO there may actually be another thread going in the general section which is where the thread was moved last week. I, however, have not located such thread.

Hope everyone is doing well. I am stalling on the weight loss front and my body is changing right before my eyes. It is like my stomach has come out from hiding. I have to get started back on my exercising. I thought of getting up this morning to exercise then remembered that the DVD remote has been missing for 2 days and I cant select options without it. I should have gotten up anyway and done some freestyle but I did not. It is so very frustrating. Yo Yoing with weight loss. I just wish I had more will power I need to work on that. I need to get some groceries and stick to my plan!!!!

Wow, this first week is rough for us under the new thread, huh? :) Haha This new way of posting will be an adventure for us, right? At least we won't get bored. :)

Quick post -- thanks for the well wishes. I'm staying strong. Another NSV today -- so far anyway. I brought lunch, and managed to turn down the most delicious-looking catered pasta I have ever seen. I LOVE baked spaghetti and lasagna. But I stuck to my turkey meat loaf left over from Sunday evening. I also moved the giant bowl of M&Ms away from me during these day long meetings. I'm strong, but I don't know if I can sit there for another 5 hrs without grabbing a handful of M&Ms if they are literally sitting right in front of me! So ... I passed them down.

I'm starting to feel the difference. Simple things like feeling a little more definition in my collar bone, ankles not swelling, etc.

Back to the meeting now. Thanks for the support ladies. It's like having a sponsor -- check ins during rough times are VERY helpful for me!

Stay strong Erin! You can do it girlie!!!

My hubby had a union meeting last night and the guys always have dinner together before the meeting. WELL they went to a mexican restuarant and he brought home two extra tacos. He did really well and resisted the temption to eat ALL the tacos, but now they are haunting ME lol

So i made some homemade salsa and eating it on my Low Fat triscuits. It's satisfying my need for Mexcian for the moment. I just wish I could have MORE TRISCUITS.

WOW! I first saw your picture before reading the post and I thought - "gee, it almost looks like J shaved her head!" Now that takes some guts, girl. Are you cold? LOL.

Holy roller coaster ride, batman. I posted yesterday, somewhere - no idea where! As we used to say, gotta get our poop in a group somewhere! Hopefully now we are all settled on how the weekly thread will be - I panicked a lot when I saw no posts in the other threads!

OK, I have been working out for 4-5 times per week for 2 weeks now, and absolutely no results on the sclae - and that is pi**ing me off big time! I amseeing some results (minimal) so at least thats a bright spot. Argh!

Kim- I think you are hilarious I bet you keep everyone laughing all the time. Sorry your exercising efforts are not showing I am sure they will very soon.

Jillian- I like your hair. way to rock short hair

Arkatana- that was funny about the activia. You should ask them on their website and see what there response would be.

Kelly- sorry for the haunting tacos- way to resist!!!

Erin- way to resist. Pasta may be the devil.

Everyone have a great on plan day!!!! I am starting the 30 day shred tomorrow!!!Hope i am not as sore this time around,,,

Kim, I don't think the working out makes the scale move at first.. well at least not down... but it is so very important to keeping your weight in check long term. I guess that is what makes it so hard. Long term absolutely essential. Short term, it tends to make weight go the the wrong way or stall out for a time. We live in such an instant gratification world these days. It is so hard to wait for results.

Took so long to find the postings, I don't have time to write....HAHA

Jillian - can't believe you cut off those beautiful locks....but you still look gorgeous....did you lose any weight be doing this???? LOL. My niece did something similar a couple years ago and I swear her hair looks 10 times better now...

Arkantana - love the line about the intoxicated guy...too funny.

Erin - "WEIGH" to go on the 20 lbs loss mark.

I've been working out four days a week and weight loss is slow. What else is new. It's the carbs that are killing me...the bad carbs...they keep calling me. Anyone have a big secret to share about how I can just stop eating them....I quit (cold turkey) diet coke over two months ago and even though it was hard, I did it cause I know how bad it is for me. So, I'm apparently capable of doing some things and not others. Guess I'm only human.

Nicole...hi!

Gotta go back to work (yes, it's 9 PM and I'm still working...but needed a little break). Hope to find you next time I come back.

hey everyone. This three threads thing for one week is interesting I must say but I figured I would post here.

Got a job offer today. It's one of the ones I interviewed for last Thursday. Its only term for 9ish months or so but for now it'll get me out of the house and supplement my unemployment a bit until I can find something better. After 4.5 months here at home I am starting to go a bit stir crazy. Its your basic 9-5 monday to friday so its easy that way. And it'll give me something else to put on my resume so I don't have a big gap in it for no work. Its working the office at a self storage business. basically running the day to day operations and such. I have to call them back tomorrow morning to accept the job and I start Monday bright and early.

Thats about it for my news this week. Things are still going well with the new man for those of you who knew he existed LOL. So all in all things are finally starting to look a little brighter around here after several years. It's kinda nice to actually smile quite a bit again!

I am weighing tomorrow morning too so hopefully that'll show a bit of a loss and I'll be three for three in the last couple of weeks!

Alannah - Great news on the job! I know what you mean about being home - I was home for about 2.5 months once and I though I would lose my mind. DH knew I was in bad shape when he asked me what I was going to do that day and I told him "Well, it's Thursday - that's the day that I clean the kitchen floor".

Barb - deep down I know that this needs to be for the long term. I am seeing some improvements in ability, stamina, and flexibility - so I am happy about that. It's been about 2.5 weeks back full-on. School starts next week, so I'll be dropping one evening, I may add in a morning workout one day to make up for it.

Arkantana - Too funny! DH works in our county office building and one day he overheard one of the custodians saying that his supervisor told him to go clean up some $hit in the hallway and "it was actually real $hit!". Gotta love working in a public building.

Morning all,
It's snowing still this morning and it took me a while to get to work since the roads are so bad. I miss the south on these days. There would be no school or work, just chillin at home.

Dh got really intersted in the diet and started TO today. He was going to start yesterday but he remembered that Tuesday's were pizza buffet day  Nuff said

Day 2 of TO the second time around. It sucks but I love the results.

Hope everyone is having a good morning.

Morning everyone! I wondered what happened to our site, thanks for the info Nicole.
Amy M- You inspired me this morning with how well you are doing. Of all the places I want to lose weight, my stomach would be number 1 for sure. I really hope 2010 is my year.

Jillian- hey girl, you must have lost some weight cutting your beautiful locks! I must say though, that you can get away with the short hair look. You always look great!

Alannah- way to go getting a job. I hope it works out great for you.

As for myself, not much is new. Last week I got on the scale and realized how much weight I had put on over the last month so I started eating better and so far I am down 1.5 pounds this week. I need something that is totally going to motivate all the time and I haven't figured out what that is yet. It is time for me to get in shape though.

Well I should run, have a great day everyone!

Joan

Kelly, I tend to eat the really crappy cookies in the blood mobile right after I give blood... or the cheezits.. I don't know why donating blood makes it so that I think I deserve some junk food, but that's the way I roll (and probably I am so round that I roll so well). I never noticed any weight loss, but I have noticed that the next day or two a little lack of energy on when working out. It is not so bad if you drink enough water before you donate though.

Welcome Lauren and welcome back Makena

Congrats Jillian on the weight loss!

I weighed this morning after 2 days of TO and loss 1lb. Hardly worth it, I think but I'll weigh again in a few days and see then.

I'm home today with a sick one (my youngest), thank goodness the fever went down. It was 102.4 when he got home from school yesterday. At 8 yrs old Jello and mom make everything better.

Hi everyone, I'm so happy to have found this thread. I was on LA Weight Loss three years ago and the weight melted off. I love the plan and I loved that I would see the scale go down 1 1/2 - 3lbs a week. Now thats the kind of incentive that keeps me going. Well, I had some health problems for a while and the medication packed on some lbs. Now I have to lose about 40 lbs to get to where I want to be. I'm happy to see that I can come on here and get some support.

I began today and would like to be down 20lbs by end of April. Now that we no longer have centers, can some of you share with me how your able to stay on this. I'm the type who usually needs support and accountability.
thanks,
Bee

Hey Joni! I've been participating in the NAMI Walk for the past 5yrs now. It's an amazing organization that helps fight the sigma of mental illness. they also provide lots of support to families and those suffering from mental illnesses.
I even did the walk last year 2wks after giving birth to baby X! :) There's no way that i'll miss it!

Arkantana

Speaking of NAMI...
I also wanted to add that the need for private donations will become increasingly important as the organization will be facing lots of cuts in programs they have been providing due to major budget cuts at the state and federal level. Just happened to see the rep for Montana NAMI speaking to a legislative committee about this on tv today.

awesome! yes, i've become known for a militant style of motivating people! :) some people love it (mostly because they know i care so much about them and their health) and some people are too sensitive and hate it. either way, it's who i am and it definitely motivates most people! :) and yep, now i have the military haircut to match! :)

Well OK Jillian you can be as hard on me as you want. I would appreciate it. I'm motivated but I believe I'm an emotional eater even though the weight came on due to illness and associated medication. Its was easy for me over the years to drop 12 lbs or so if I needed but I'm looking at 40 now and just can't grasp how to stay motivated for a long time to get it "all" off. So Please feel free!!

ha ha ha, what up, GI JANE!!!!!
Personally, I love the fact that I have to report to Jillian (JLem) today after I work out...and if I don't, yeah, she will stalk me on Twitter, FB, email....whatever it takes. Yeah, we all respond to different motivational tactics.....but I can tell you all, you will never get better support than you will from JLem. :)

And JM (JulieMarie).....you freakin' crack me up, girl :)

Joni.....my friend who works for the YMCA is also a huge suporter of NAMI. She is hoping to involve them in some new programs to help people with mental illness have access to the Y and with personal training to help combat their illnesses along with medical treatment :) Very good organization from all I hear.

Ok, have to get my boy on the bus and then sweat my bootie off. Have a great day everyone, and take good care of yourself today. Take that extra 5 minutes to prepare a healthy lunch, and cook with your kids or husband or a friend tonight......make good fuel for your body :)

Wonder why we don't get the Lean Cuisine pizzas here in Canada?but we have these President's Choice Blue Menu pizzas which are pretty amazing! 1/4 of a large pizza contains only 7 g of fat...30 g of carb...about 240 Calories.I always stock them up in my freezer for lazy week-nights.I just make a green salad to go with it. A healthier and economical alternative to dining out.

Hi all...Kim, I FINALLY made it the gym Saturday morning for spin class...felt SOOOOOOOO good, I'm gonna do it again tomorrow morning. Looks like we have a couple Body Jam classes so I'll be checking those out asap...hope they dim the lights....but, heck, if I can fake it at Zuma, hopefully I can fake it at Body jam.

GI Jillian - finally made it the NAMI site and plugged in my donation....I'm sure with all the Haiti issues, our local organizations are suffering....so I was happy to help a great cause.

I was out and about today and headed over to a Quick Weight Loss Center to chat about their program (I did this program about 20 years ago...not really a bad program, but pretty strick). I had a sign from "Above" that this was not the way for me to lose weight....well the sign was actually on their door..."closed Sundays" so I came home and ate a skinny cow ice cream cone!

Hi Nicole! and everyone else........................gotta do some stuff and then want to watch 19 Kids and Counting!
