Default Plateau Frustration

Hey guys, I'm new to this blog! I received this plan as a Christmas present and I've been officially "on program" for two weeks as of tomorrow. Pre-program I managed to lose 15 pounds, and I lost 3 more at the beginning of this. I've made it to the green menu, but now that I'm on it I've hit a plateau and the scale doesn't budge anywhere but up.

So I guess my question is, has everyone on this hit a plateau? How long did it take to get off of it?

In our orientation meeting they explain that it's completely normal to have a few days/week of plateau early on (and again later) as your body catches up to all the weight you've lost quickly.

Yes, plateaus are a normal part of any weight loss. They are frustrating!!! (I'm in the middle of a 2-week long one right now -- aarrgghh). The key is not to get frustrated and keep working towards your goal -- your weight loss will resume! Keep up with the good work you are doing!

Oh bummer! I hit a plateau at 20 lbs. It took me 3 weeks to start losing again. Don't worry and try not to get too frustrated. You'll break through it eventually- stick to it! Try switching up your exercise routine, limit your cheese or apple intake, and maximize your HNS. Those are a few things that I did that seemed to help. Good luck and talk to your center- they can help.

Thanks for the replies everyone! The people at my center did mention that they were expecting me to hit a plateau, and that it was normal, but I was more curious about how long it took people to break out of them. I went to the gym for the first time in forever today, so here's hoping I'll break through soon!

I can't remember the details but I SURE remember the frustration. I THINK mine have lasted around a week and I've had a couple at least.I just kept telling myself....stay the course....change around the foods so you're not eating the same things every day....keep drinking that water and try to exercise.....you'll get there...it really does work.

My last plateau lasted about a week...not long compared to others, but I found by increasing my water I was back on track. My counselor also told me to up my exercise this week to change up my routine enough to not slow down again right away.

NotAFatBride pointed us to this post on a previous thread and I thought it was a good explanation of why we have plateaus:
