I just arrived home from my vacation -- a week in lovely Texas! I was surrounded by all sorts of yummy things -- sugary coleslaw, buttery biscuits, lovely tacos and flaky pastries. It was tempting! But I said no to it all! Instead I munched on a couple of walnuts every time I felt the need to indulge -- I brought with a bag of them just for this purpose. I'm doing a lower carb diet and I find three or four walnut halves quell my cravings instantly. So I not only survived, but I also lost three pounds.
But now I've reached a weight where I usually become a bit cocky -- I tend to relax my guard after losing about fifteen pounds and sneak in a few illicit snacks here and there, thinking they won't slow me down because I'm already doing so well. So here's to being strong, avoiding temptation, and losing that final twenty pounds!
