Hello there...

I was checking my email and got one for WEBMD and it had 12 Diet Mistakes on it. I thought this might be something interesting for so readers.

1- RELYING ON CRASH DIETS
2- SKIPPING BREAKFAST
3- LOSING TRACK OF YOUR SNACKS
4- LOADING UP ON LOW-FAT
5- NOT SNACKING AT ALL
6- SIPPING TO MANY CALORIES
7- DRINKING TOO LITTLE WATER
8- DITCHING DAIRY
9- TAKING THE DRIVE THRU BAIT
10- WEIGHING YOURSELF EVERYDAY
11- SETTING UNREALISTIC GOALS
12- AVOIDING EXERCISE

It also gave reasons why they are mistakes and how to avoid them. There was way to much infor for me to log on this site. If you are interested in finding out more info on one or all go to the WEBMD website. It was kind of helpful.

Good to think about ....

... I have read several articles about #10 ..... and the consensus is those who weigh themselves everyday overtime do seem to be more successful ....

.... so I'll probably think that one is the only one that i don't agree with ....

I think it depends on whether it applies to you or not and the reasons.

I weigh myself everyday and track a daily weight against a trend weight. With the program I use, I can gain a better picture of my weight loss overall. I get calorie deficits, BMI stats and what my weekly weight loss is per day. It took a while to get over the "OMG, I gained a kilo last night!" feeling, but weight fluctuates hourly depending on what and when you eat. I can drink a litre of water and gain a kilo. Two hours later, I'm back down a kilo, maybe more if I exercised, maybe less if I ate.

I am definitely guilty of 3, 8 and 9 in the past and correcting them as I go.

Same procedure here. I use Fit Day for my number crunching plus old fashioned paper and pencil for weekly averages. It was very good for me to work through the ups an downs of my body's weight fluctuations.

Snacking is a subjective one just like whether or not to weigh yourself every day. For people that have control issues then snacking probably would be bad for them, they snack too often, can't stop once they've started, make poor choices on what to snack on etc. On the other hand snacking can be good because you're not going hours and hours between meals and so you're less likely to overeat when you do sit down to some food and snacking can also keep your energy up and your blood sugar levels more even.

It can go either way.

Personally I love my snacks and won't be giving them up any time soon!
