Welcome! I'm a relative newbie as well and I've found this site soooooo helpful. Definitely take advantage of the extensive collection of recipes in the forum - they rekindled my determination when my will was wavering. I stuck with it and I'm down 15 lbs! :D

Hello all,
I am also new to South Beach diet and also this forum. I haven't until today, but have surfed various topics. I have learned alot and love the recipe sections. Started on SBD 2 weeks ago, lost about 7 lbs so far, and hope to lose about 30 more. My eldest daughter is getting married in the fall, and hopefully, that will keep me motivated.

Hey everybody!! I just started phase 1 today. This is the plan my dr. has recommended and I have run out of excuses not to do something so here I am...

I'm the biggest junk food junkie around so I know it's going to be difficult, but like I said - it has to be more wasting time for me. I've been surfing the site and I'm so grateful to all of you who are sharing. I'm sure I'll be posting pretty regularly as well.

I'm more of a lurker here and also a newbie, but I've found that this forum holds me more accountable than anything else. And the ladies (and maybe some gentlemen) are fabulous and have great ideas.

I have a couple of questions...

It's nearing the end of my second day and I feel pretty good. I've let myself get too hungry a couple of times, but I've planned the OP foods and it's all working out pretty well. I guess I'm thinking it's working out too well...have all the "withdrawals" not hit yet?

Also, I'm wondering if you noticed any other changes besides weight loss. I've had a slight acne problem for a few months now and I've got to think that eating healthier is going to help clear up my skin.

Redhead30: Aside from the weight loss and overall healthy feeling, I had a mild bout of acne that has cleared up immensely since being on South Beach. Also, I had horribly dry skin, and the copious amounts of water I've been drinking have really helped to retain moisture. I saw clear results of this after a week or two.

And I'm glad to hear things are going well!
