Default Sore from Yoga

Hi! I am kinda "newish" here. I started to lose weight back in early 2008, until I found out I was PG and that put a kink in things. I am back on track now, and exercising AT LEAST four days a week, but I want to get better about exercising six days a week.

I took a Yoga class at my gym yesterday... I wanted to do some good stretching and I find Yoga to be very therapeutic... but today, I am SORE! Ha! Especially my feet (how weird is that?). We did some balancing poses on one foot and that really seemed to work my feet.

When I think of exercising and getting into shape, I think of biceps, abs, thighs... never my feet!

I think I may sign up to take this class weekly.

I also spent a few days being sore from my Monday yoga class. It's my favorite one to go to because it moves quickly and I feel like I get a good workout/ stretch/ meditation at the end. Sore though.

I think yoga has really helped strengthen my poor arches. I do yoga because I like to run and I'm unbelievably tight yet I hate stretching and I have weak arches. I think yoga and running compliment each other well. The main challenge I have with yoga is I really only practice in class, I rarely do it on my own.

I love yoga!! About 3 years ago I went to a yoga retreat in Mexico with a girlfriend, it was so amazing. I recommend it for everyone. Even if you just rent a Dvd and do it at home. It teaches your body so many good habits. I had a singing coach once that recommended I do yoga for the breathing exercises alone.
