Low Carb Archive - Update on Ole'Alvin

Just a minute to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Alvin is doing much better. He never had any of the problems they were expecting (such as high fever, lots of pain, ) and they are talking about taking him out of ICU and moving him to a room today. If they do, I'll be able to bring my laptop anc catch up on all I've missed. It didn't work taking the laptop to the ICU waiting room. I'll check in later and keep you all informed of his progress, but thanks again for your prayers. THEY WORK!!!

Oh Barb....... that's just wonderful..... I am so happy for you!!! I hope you're also remembering to take care of yourownself while you've been so busy worrying about Ole'Alvin!

Alvin was finally taken to a room on the surgery floor Friday night about 6:00PM. 5 days in the ICU waiting room is a long time.

Prayers definately work!!! His doctors are amazed at how well he is doing. We talked to his surgeon (the one who did the original surgery, not the emergency surgery Sunday) He said that the ERsurgeon called him from the or Sunday night ant told him what she found when she open him up and he (the doc) thought that there wasn't a chance Alvin would survive, much less feel this well at this point. They think that he may get to go home in about a week.

And yes, I'm taking care of myself, I have an ice pack on my knee as I write.

Barb, any more news on Alvin? Glad to hear you are taking care of your knee--don't want to mess that up! Are you staying away from the evil vending machines?:s: I've been thinking about you and hope that you are doing well!
