You are not supposed to drink water with your meals because it dilutes your digestive juices so i suggest you quit drinking water with meals if you are on low carb. Anyone with the answer please reply!!!!!!!!!!! How long after a meal may i consume water again????????/

I drink water before, after and during too! The more you drink the more you flush! Hmmmm, I'm curious, did you read that somewhere? I'd love to know what the reasoning could be!
Janice ~ running to the potty cause of alot of water today!
Jay~we were posting at the same time so you snuck your explanation in on me. I honestly have never heard or read anything like that. Even during the "guidance" of a nutritionist, he pushed the water intake and never shared that info. Hopefully someone will come along soon with some words of wisdom! JIFFFFFFF !!!!! Where are you? :p

That is an urban myth. You could, and should, drink water whenever you are thirsty. It helps digestion and does not hinder it.

wow!!! look, ladies. all i can offer is the perspective from the rny wls folks. and frankly, over the years, i DO remember that not drinking during meals helps keep the food in the stomach longer so you feel fuller faster. of course, there's also the idea of drinking just before you eat so that there's less room for food.
but i'm digressing now.
ok jay... here's the deal for the wls people: we can't drink for 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after a meal. and some folks wait up to 2 hours before they drink anything, but then you really have to choose between eating and drinking!!!
i've found that 45 minutes after is working well for me... my stomach pouch doesn't empty as fast and i don't have to worry about getting in my liquids [and i've been drinking 80-90 ounces daily recently]
does this help? not sure...
