OK girls...I think my space heater at work gets me too warm, then all I want to do is lie down and snooze. I turned it off to see what happens, of course it is just after lunch now.

View Full Version : The Worldly Chicks Will Jettison Their Jiggling Junk OUT OF January! annie175 01-21-2010, 01:15 PM OK girls...I think my space heater at work gets me too warm, then all I want to do is lie down and snooze. I turned it off to see what happens, of course it is just after lunch now. Laura705 01-21-2010, 01:59 PM Ceejay - Enjoy your 3-day weekend. Your day off and someone rings the bell that early?!? Grrr. I say disconnect the thing. Maybe they would think twice about potentially disturbing you if they had to use a doorknocker instead! Shad - Enjoy your 4-day weekend. Doesn't seem like a logical thing to have you learn the rules and regs and write them into the syst - no one internally can do that? Huh. Have a safe flight home! Thanks so much for the eye candy!! :D Michelle - Hope the coffee kicked in and the caffeine is doing it's work. :coffee: Wow, what did your dh do to his knees that required all that surgery?! My knee is feeling much better - no twinges so far today, and I walked to the train station this morning. But now that I know your DH is the expert - I will be routing any questions to him through you if I ever need to ask why the knee hurts when I do this but not that, etc. Good luck w/ your weigh in today. :crossed: Mel - Hope those ovary cramps ease up. Are you sure there's not some egg in there trying to pop out? Have a restful day. Annie - There was a wee bit of slickness on the sidewalks this morning. Good thing I left the house early - I walked slowly and carefully. Hi Happy! Well, not much to report today. I'm passing on the weigh in (really should be passing on some snacks I've not resisted). But I'm logging my food and bringing lunch and snacks from home, so I just need to resist those supplemental snacks. No plans for tonight, but I think I'll exercise since I've been a sloth for the past 3 days. Cheers! diyana 01-21-2010, 02:19 PM Good afternoon ladies! Well, I guess managing portions and points, logging food, and exercise do work! :goodscale: I lost 2.6 pounds this week! :woohoo: :dancer: Now I just have to keep doing what I'm doing. My WW leader also said something I want to research. She said that for the most part, the weight gained when doing strength training (especially when starting out) isn't because of muscle mass, but because of the muscles retaining water to repair themselves. She said unless you do serious body building muscle mass won't result in increased weight. I want to double check this, but it sure sounds good. Tonight is Zumba and strength training. Can't wait!! :) Mel - Thanks for the hug coupon! Ceejay - Do you have any plans for your long weekend? Annie - Gotta love (from a distance) office eye candy! I get tired after lunch too. And I don't use a space heater. I'm a hot chickie...almost always warm (indoors anyway). diyana 01-21-2010, 02:27 PM Laura - You snuck in!! My DH initially hurt his knee playing HS football and had a couple surgeries to repair it (this is back in the days prior to arthroscopic surgery). Then he injured it big time by falling through some rotted stairs at work when he was in his late 20s - tore nearly all his tendons and ligaments. He needed a full reconstruction. Then over the years, both knees developed arthritis and needed arthroscopic surgery every couple years until finally he had to have a complete right knee replacement about 10 years ago. So I've learned A LOT about knees from him. I (and he) would be happy to try and answer any questions you might have. Glad to hear your knee is doing better with no twinges. Good for you for logging food and bringing lunch and snacks...that's been helping me A LOT!! When you exercise tonight...be careful with your knee. Don't overdo it, okay? annie175 01-21-2010, 02:29 PM Whew WHo Chelle...I knew it, I knew it. YOU ROCK MY SISTA! I am so very proud of you. BIG BIG HUGS!! annie175 01-21-2010, 02:32 PM And Ms. Chelle...You (we) we will be shooting for 214 by March 11, that is my challenge to you..... diyana 01-21-2010, 02:47 PM Okay, Annie, 10 lbs in 7 weeks? That'll take some work...but I'm game. I would also LOVE to be at 209 (my 10% goal according to WW) by April 1 (NO FOOLIN'!). Our WW challenge this week is for sedentary people to do some sort of exercise for 10 minutes a day....and for those who are exercising to increase their activity by 10 or 15 minutes a day, which I'm gonna strive for - putting me at approx. 45 min/day. Big hugs and thanks to everyone for all your continued support and encouragement! annie175 01-21-2010, 03:29 PM Chelle....I COULD give you that extra few days and say St Paddies Day on 3/18....that would be 8 weeks, but I think if we keep it 7 weeks you will strive harder, don't make me fly up there with Mel's rolling pin. diyana 01-21-2010, 04:13 PM Annie - you know me too well. By setting the goal for 7 weeks, I will work harder. Thank you! MELODY525 01-21-2010, 07:51 PM Three Ladies in a Sauna THREE WOMEN, TWO YOUNGER, AND ONE SENIOR CITIZEN, WERE SITTING NAKED IN A SAUNA. SUDDENLY THERE WAS A BEEPING SOUND. THE YOUNG WOMAN PRESSED HER FOREARM AND THE BEEP STOPPED. THE OTHERS LOOKED AT HER QUESTIONINGLY. 'THAT WAS MY PAGER,' SHE SAID. I HAVE A MICROCHIP UNDER THE SKIN OF MY ARM. A FEW MINUTES LATER, A PHONE RANG. THE SECOND YOUNG WOMAN LIFTED HER PALM TO HER EAR. WHEN SHE FINISHED, SHE EXPLAINED, 'THAT WAS MY MOBILE PHONE. I HAVE A MICROCHIP IN MY HAND.' THE OLDER W OMAN FELT VERY LOW -TECH. NOT TO BE OUT DONE, SHE DECIDED SHE HAD TO DO SOMETHING JUST AS IMPRESSIVE. SHE STEPPED OUT OF THE SAUNA AND WENT TO THE BATHROOM. SHE RETURNED WITH A PIECE OF TOILET PAPER HANGING FROM HER REAR END. THE OTHERS RAISED THEIR EYEBROWS AND STARED AT HER. THE OLDER WOMAN FINALLY SAID.........WELL, WILL YOU LOOK AT THAT....I'M GETTING A FAX!! diyana 01-22-2010, 07:36 AM TGIF!! I'm looking forward to my weekend of shopping, cooking, laundry, exercising, website work, and watching football. And DH and I are going out to dinner Saturday night to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the night we met! :) We'll be having our 15th wedding anniversary in April. :) I had a blast last night at strength training class followed by Zumba! Love it, love it, love it! There's a Zumba class tomorrow morning at the Y, but it's a different instructor, so I haven't decided if I'll go or not. We'll see. Mel - OMG, that is too funny!! What a great joke to start a Friday morning! I'm going to have to share that one!!! Thanks!! I'll be back later to read the latest news from all you wonderful ladies! Much love and many hugs, MELODY525 01-22-2010, 10:02 AM http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/kreynolds7/GoodMorningDDPSmilingCa-vi.gif?t=1263992714  HELLO CHICKS OF THE WORLD. SO I WILL PASS ON THE SCALE TOO cry: HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND THOUGH! ceejay52 01-22-2010, 11:23 AM Mel Thanks for the laugh. lol Michelle My National Body Challenge goes for 8 week's. I'm suppose to lose 10 pounds. I'm not banking on it but I'm trying. Annie The space heater where I work has felt good on my feet but it does make me sleepy. I'm honestly getting tired of the door bell ringing one time while I'm trying to catch up on my sleep. I'm playing around with the dvr and did find where to change the time. It was on Eastern daylight saving's time. I have to enter a search instead of rewinding the dvr. That's one of my goals for today. I'm heading out in a few minutes to H and R Block to get my taxes done. I forgot to mention the other day that the New Madrid fault line produced and earthquake of a 3.3 on the ricter scale. The epicenter was about two hours from here. I didn't feel anything. ceejay52 01-22-2010, 11:31 AM Michelle I forgot to mention your weight loss. Congratulation your hard work is paing off. diyana 01-22-2010, 02:05 PM Hey Ceejay - Glad you didn't feel the earthquake, and there was probably no damage. Coming from earthquake country, 3.3 isn't too bad. I would rarely ever feel quakes that were under 4 or 4.5. And it really depends on what the ground underneath you is like (for example, solid bedrock moves/shakes less than landfill or sandy areas). As for the National Body Challenge, just stick to it and hope for the best. Wouldn't it be great to be 10 lbs lighter in just 8 weeks? Laura705 01-22-2010, 02:30 PM Hey everybody! Happy Friday! Mel - LOL at the sauna joke. Enjoy your unplanned weekend! Do not make a point of striving for fat or lazy! :nono: Michelle - Congrats on the great loss this week! Mel is right, I may finally be motivated by all your enthusiastic Zumba talk to get into a class like that. Now that I check my Bally class schedule, none of the classes are "dancey" like that. But I've been saying forever that I want to give some of the classes a try, so next Thursday I will commit to going to the yoga & pilates class. Have a great weekend! Ceejay - Hope the tax prep goes smoothly. Our new admin asked about W-2's yesterday and I said that they usually arrive (via US mail) just before the Jan. 31st deadline. Can't get an early jump on them. Another early morning doorbell ringing?! Definitely figure out that dvr and find the culprit!! Good luck w/ the National Body Challenge. Have you ever felt any tremors or anything in your area? I wouldn't like that. I was on a work assignment in Mexico City years ago when we there were tremors. Not a good feeling at all! Last night I did one BE workout. I took it easy, but there was a squat routine. This morning the knee isn't in pain, but it just feels "funny" (Michelle, ask your DH about that, LOL). When I go to the gym for my weekly cardio session, I'll use the stationary bikes - regular and recumbent - so I have less impact than the treadmill. Bf said that doggy hurt his paw while going crazy over the mailman yesterday, so he doped him up at his dinnertime. Between my workout and our dinner, we trimmed his nails. Bf said the dew claw on the injured paw was split. He trimmed it way back and it bled a little before using the stuff that stops it. After dinner and cleaning up, I took doggy for a short walk and he seemed fine - no limping or favoring the paw. Nothing else planned for this weekend, but I might go shopping w/ some gift cards. ;) Hi Annie, Happy & Shad! Have a great weekend everyone! Cheers! MELODY525 01-22-2010, 03:03 PM http://forums.provida.com/forums/storage/48/3231673/wow7.gif OK....DOING THE "I AM SO HAPPY THE WEEKEND IS HERE" DANCE. MY FRIEND HAS GONE HOME TO GET BETTER. JEN IS RESTING. AND I AM HEADED FOR THE SHOWER. I EVEN GOT MY PEDALING DONE!! HAVE A GREAT NIGHT LADIES OF THE WORLD :cloud9: CEEJAY~ EARTHQUAKE??? :yikes: :faint:  I DON'T CARE WHAT THE NUMBER IS...I DON'T WANT ANY OF THEM. SENDING A  TO YOU!! STAY SAFE. I JUST READ ANOTHER WEBSITE AND EARTHQUAKES ARE IN CALIFORNIA THIS WEEK TOO. SCARY STUFF. TORNADOES IN ARIZONA YESTERDAY. HOPE YOU DO LOSE THE 10 LBS...LIKE MICHELLE SAID...WOULDN'T THAT BE GREAT!! lLAURA~ POOR DOGGIE. GLAD HE'S OK NOW AND HOPE THE NAIL HEALS QUICKLY, SHAME THEY CAN'T TALK TO US. GOTTA LOVE GIFT CARDS!! HAPPY SHOPPING!! diyana 01-22-2010, 03:14 PM Laura - Good for you for planning to check out Yoga and Pilates. The amazing thing about those moves is they don't look like much, but wow do you feel it! Have fun! I hope the knee does okay this weekend. If your knees bother you doing squats, here's what my trainer says: (1) make sure your knees aren't going beyond your toes - in other words stick your tush backwards! and (2) only go part way down...you don't need to do a deep squat to work your muscles. Glad to hear your doggie is doing better now. :) Here's to a wonderful weekend for all of us! Shad 01-22-2010, 09:47 PM Afternoon all, Just a note before I crash for a siesta. I am home and surrounded by my own junk and stuff. Sunday is sniffing at the heels - everywhere I go. I think I have just unearthed the marriage certificate of my great great paternal grandfather and grandmother. Life is interesting. Still trying to unearth the other side of the equation. Sometimes you just stumble on some interesting facts. Sometimes not. MELODY525 01-23-2010, 08:19 AM http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t251/truetome_2007/Words/thenjoy5gh.jpg?t=1263302560 HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE. I AM GOING TO LOUNGE AROUND AND EVEN HAVE NEW FLANNEL PANT JAMMIES TO CELEBRATE THE WEEKEND. I FORGOT I HAD THEM IN THE DRAWER! HAPPY SATURDAY/SUNDAY :moped: :welcome:HOME SHAD. HOPE SUNDAY GETS HER FILL OF YOU IN THE 4 DAYS. TELL HER TO MAKE IT LAST!! http://www.getsmileyface.com/new/cats/cat90.gif WHERE DID YOU FIND THE MARRIAGE LICENSE. ON THE NET? HOW GREAT TO FIND SOMETHING THAT OLD. I WONDER HOW FAR BACK YOU WILL BE ABLE TO GO WITH THE FAMILY TREE. VERY INTERESTING INDEED. MELODY525 01-23-2010, 08:48 AM ALL YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT WALKING!! http://www.greenchain.com/walking-animation2.gif Walking can add minutes to your life. This enables you at 85 years old to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home at $7000 per month. My grandpa started walking five miles a day when he was 60. Now he's 97 years old and we don't know where the **** he is. I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me. The only reason I would take up walking is so that I could hear heavy breathing again. I have to walk early in the morning, before my brain figures out what I'm doing. I joined a health club last year ... spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to go there. Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise', I wash my mouth out with chocolate. I do have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them. The advantage of exercising every day is so when you die, they'll say, ....'Well, she looks good doesn't she.' If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country. I know I got a lot of exercise the last few years,....... ...... just getting over the hill. We all get heavier as we get older, because there's a lot more information in our heads. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ..... and Every time I start thinking too much about how I look, I just find a Happy Hour, and by the time I leave, I look just fine. ceejay52 01-23-2010, 12:33 PM Shad Are you doing a geneolgy study of your family history? That is always fun. Sunday, has missed you. Laura Have fun at the Library. I might try our Library next week end. I'm not much on reading. But I do like to look at magazines etc. I've got quite a few work out dvd's that I rarely use. I need to. Mel You must of had a good day in the office. My niece got me a new pair of jammie bottoms for Christmas along with a dvd. My next me day is on February 17. I'll be wearing those that day. Good for you in getting the exercise done. Happy Have I missed your post? I hope you are not sick. I'd rather take a beating today than do house cleaning but I'm ashamed to let it go any further. I did manage to set up the new monitor yesterday for the dvr. I'm liking it alot better because I can leave it on where as I couldn't on the tv. diyana 01-23-2010, 12:42 PM Happy Weekend everyone! I started the day off with a Zumba class, followed by grocery shopping on the way home. I'm now upstairs to do website work for a few hours. Then I'll come downstairs and do some Wii Fit (maybe), then shower and get ready for going out to dinner. We're going to Olive Garden since we have a gift card. Shad - I'll bet Sunday is glad to have you home. How cool that you found your great great grandparents marriage certificate! I love old family photos and marriage certificates and stuff like that. I've got my great grand parents marriage certificate and wedding photo. Mel - I love your post on Walking!! ceejay - Good for you for setting up the new monitor! Annie - Are you seeing Mike this weekend, and having the talk with him? Go Colts! I'll definitely be watching tomorrow. Happy - How is your foot feeling? I hope you have a relaxing weekend. A big  to Laura, Patty and anyone I may have missed! Love and hugs to all, happy2bme 01-23-2010, 01:54 PM Hi all, Sorry I haven't been posting. The medicine I'm on finally seems to be helping with the original foot pain but like many strong anti-inflamatories, it is playing heck with my insides. I get alot of cramping and stomach pain, particularly first thing in the morning so instead of checking in here, I am in the throne room. The frustrating thing is that you feel like you have "to go" but it's just bad cramps and you always run the risk of ignoring it an it being a real situation. Work has been busy so I haven't been able to do more than browse at lunch and we've had a couple of things going on at night this week so I've done little more than lurk here. Started a post several times, got interupted before I got more than 3 sentences so I deleted them, probably should have just posted what little I had. My weight has been up and down 4 pounds see-sawing throughout the week. Am trying to stay clean this weekend as I have a doctor's appt Monday for the annual physical and it would be nice to weigh in a few pounds down from the last time I was there. Michelle you are really going to town with the exercise. Glad that you seem to be enjoying the WiiFit - I didn't know it loudly announced your weight tho! :yikes: I think the glue is sticking to you seat on the wagon because you look like you are back in the groove again. Get your web stuff done today because I'm sure you'll be in front of the TV tomorrow. :D Happy anniversary to you - doesn't the time fly by? Congrats on the terrific weigh in for the week. I agree that all that Zumba'ing probably helped push that scale down. Keep dancin' girl. Ceejay - thanks for asking, I'm doing ok. Did you figure out how to rewind the DVR or did I not read far enough back in posts? Comfy pj bottoms are good for sitting around the house in the evening too. Wear them now before the weather gets too warm and shorts season is back. The National Body Challenge is a good program - hope you do well with it. Argh what earthquake??? I am truly afraid of that. Seriously I am. Particularly after seeing the devistation in Haiti. 18 seconds from the New Madrid fault to Memphis. Although they say there is a more active fault up in Illinois. New Madrid has been quiet (relatively) for the last 5 years. I felt tremours on 3 separate occasions while out in San Francisco and Los Angeles - that's good enough for me for the rest of my life! Mel - loved your little walking ditty. :lol3: Had a good laugh at the sauna joke too - I passed that one along. Hope you have a good weekend - are you shopping or cooking or just chilling out? Shad - wow how cool to find the marriage certificate! I would think going that far back it would be recorded in a Bible or something instead of forms. Enjoy your brief stay back home with kitty glued to your ankle. Laura - hope you like the yoga and pilates classes. Start slow and don't try to keep up with everything at first. Pilates is really good for the abs but HARD when you first start out as form is very important. It's worth sticking with. Maybe for February (or now if we want to get a head start) we should have a weekly challenge - we can tie into Michelle's WW challenges which sound good to me. Maybe dust off one of those old exercise DVDs and work it for a week? I have lots of those too. BTW I heard the same thing about muscles holding some water after a work out too Michelle - probably heard that at WW too  Annie do the B12 supplements work or do you get more oomph from the shots? Ok, spent enough time at the computer here. Now to get busy with some cleaning and laundry. Have a good weekend everyone. ceejay52 01-23-2010, 03:38 PM Happy I've been reading the manual to the DVR. It looks like I may have to have a modem to download some software for the dvr. ughhhh. I'm trying the lap top first to see if it will work here. I will not need it all the time. Sorry the meds are making you not feel well. The epicenter of the earthquake was near Black Rock, Pochontas area in Arkansas. (lawrence county) I had to stay off my foot completely for two week's immediately after my foot surgery. Take care. Feel better soon. Shad 01-23-2010, 05:02 PM Morning all, For those wondering, I have been trying to trace the family tree on my fathers side. It's a long tortuous process and I was beginning to believe that the great grandparent generation was just set down on this planet and never born at all. However through the BMDonline (Births Marriages and Deaths - or affectionately known in NZ as the Hatched, matched and dispatched department) has records going back to 1840 (which was NZ was settled by the English and some French) and just by accident when trying to check out one person, I found three others who with a little more research may well prove to be part of the family. It seems that records were not completely accurate way back then and my great great grandfather was not a Colman but a Coleman and I have a feeling that when I go back to the British records, his father may well prove to be a Coalman - I've already sort of looked at that in the UKroots site. So I have ordered the print out of the Marriage certificate to try to work out where they were born and when they came to NZ. When I get the printout, I may well be able to get back to the place where they were born. If it was in England as I suspect, then the British keep spectacular records going back as far as around the 1400's. This may mean another trip back to England at some time to look at gravestones etc. Unfortunately, I don't think I will ever find out much about my fathers Maori ancestry as there are few written records for them. It's a fun if sometimes expensive hobby that keeps me occupied when I am not at work. Mel - love these pics you are posting. And the jokes. I gave up after husband 1.0 crashed so many times and bought 'life as you like it1.75555555555' Yes I find most of my info on line. I do talk to whats left of the family and send my sister racing around the countryside investigating bits and pieces. My next trick will be to get a big piece of paper to draw out all the names and relevant lines of the family. The computer program does so much, but can't print it all out. My friend Chris (Japan) has hers on the wall with as many photos of people, houses, areas, gravestones, towns etc as she can find. She is a lot further down the track than I am and has given me lots of advice and help. Ceejay - I know how you feel about the housework. I'd probably take a beating too. DS2 has been doing okay since I went south, but there are bits I need to catch up on. (He doesn't look up when vaccuuming!) Michelle - Congratulations on the weight loss. I knew you could do it, just as soon as you got your mind back into gear. Awesome thing minds, they can make us afraid and they can make us brave. We just have to make the choice. Happy - awful that you feel the need to 'go' all the time. I'm afraid Melbourne has the opposite effect on me and for some reason I can't go and have to resort to 'other' means which is not pleasant. I hope I get over it real soon. Okay - that's about it. Hello to Annie, Laura and Patty. I'd better go get myself sorted for the day. Can't waste this precious time. ceejay52 01-23-2010, 11:02 PM The new power plant is doing some purges today and tonight. I'm no sure why but have mercy it sounds like a super jet landing on street. I'm not sure if I can tolerate this. MELODY525 01-24-2010, 08:19 AM http://i608.photobucket.com/albums/tt161/Laugh_01/MORNING-1.gif GOOD MORNING CHICKS. HAPPY SUNDAY. HAVE A GREAT DAY. Happy Sunday Morning chicks. It rained last night and we are headed to another cool snap so it's kind of chilly out there. DH and I are headed out to a furniture store hoping a piece we've had our eye on for a while is finally going on sale. Then we are stopping at a new restaurant. It's an experiment by the owner to offer great tasting food at a low price. All they offer - the entire menu - is southern skillet fried chicken accompanied by several side dishes. It's an all you can eat place. Most reviews said it was very good. If the place isn't open we will probably head to I-Hop which is ok by my because I love their breakfasts. Then it's off to pick up some groceries. Mel, I heard of Ice Station Zebra but had no idea what it was about. If it has Rock Hudson in it, it must be an oldie. Did you finally get through it all? If you went through a day with no alarms whatsoever, would you be wondering what's up with that? :dunno: Seems like something is always going on. Shad, that's pretty interesting digging into the family history. Particularly across continents! I think it would be fascinating to go and roam through some old English cemetaries. I was in Boston once and was amazed that next to these modern buildings there were small plots of burial grounds with tombstones that in some cases were so worn you could barely read them. I imagine it takes alot of patience to dig so thoroughly. Does this mean you are not part of the Coleman mustard lineage? Ceejay - you must have a different set up than we do. We have a DVR box with a remote control (to please the men in our lives ;) ) - to rewind you just hit a << button on the remote. Yours sounds complicated. Well DH is asking if I'm ready and here I sit in my pjs so I'd better get moving along here. Enjoy the rest of your weekend ladies. Happy football to those of you spending the afternoon in front of the telly. ceejay52 01-24-2010, 12:56 PM Happy My DVR is for the camera's. I've emailed ADT. Every one have a good day. diyana 01-24-2010, 01:57 PM Happy Sunday - Had a wonderful dinner last night with DH. :) Thank goodness for the extra points WW allows every week as I used most of them! Woke up today and starting cooking make and freeze meals. Will be making soup later and doing some Wii Fit. Then watching football from 2 until 8:30. After last week, I'm afraid to say who I'm rooting for since most of those teams lost. Happy - Sorry you're having such an awful time with your anti-inflammatory. I hope your foot pain goes away so you can go off the meds. Good luck at your annual physical tomorrow. Just for clarification, it doesn't loudly announce your weight...It's just when calculating your BMI, it says "that's obese". Looking forward to the day it says "that's overweight" or "that's normal". It rained most of yesterday and it's starting out that way today. It's supposed to change to snow by nighttime. Hopefully the roads won't be icy for work tomorrow. That restaurant sounds fabulous!!! I know what you mean about Boston, I loved the mix of old buildings and new. And the cemetaries where Ben Franklin, John Adams and other founding fathers are buried - so cool! Ceejay - Yikes about the loud noises from the power plant! I hope things are quieter today. I hope your get your ADT DVR thing worked out. Shad - How cool that you're able to trace your ancestors back so far!! I love what you said about minds...making us afraid or brave...and it's up to us to choose! :) Mel - I'll make you a deal....I'll do your walking and Zumba-ing...but as for pedaling, you've got to do that! Okay? A big  to Annie, Patty and Laura! Well, laundry is probably ready to be folded, and I'll have just enough time to get a workout in before football, so I'd better sign off! Love and hugs, Shad 01-24-2010, 11:23 PM Woo hoo. :woohoo: I have found a young guy to do the garden and he will start next Sunday. So now I have to write a list of to-dos and to-don'ts and stock the shelves with the things he will need. It's hot and sticky and sunny. I had Sushi train for lunch. Not sure what we will have for dinner. Australia Day tomorrow - listen out for weird happenings from the southern continent. They seem to have a rush of blood to the head here. Back later happy2bme 01-25-2010, 07:43 AM Hi ladies, Happy Monday. I have a doctor's appt shortly - annual physical - so I don't have time to post. Will be back later. Just wanted to wake everyone up :s: Coffee is on and we have jasmine tea or berry smoothies if anyone's interested... MELODY525 01-25-2010, 08:06 AM http://images-partners-tbn.google.com/images?q=tbn:9u73XvfVV3mgHM:www.fairfieldcity.nsw. gov.au/upload/images/Australia_Day_national_logo_colourjpeg.jpg SHAD~ I NEVER GT BACK HERE TO POST THE HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY. SO SORRY SIS. GOT SIDE TRACKED WITH TENANTS....AND THEN FORGOT ALL ABOUT IT! HOPE YOU HAD A GOOD DAY. :cofdate: GOOD MORNING WORLDLY CHICKS OF THE UNIVERSE. HOPE YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT DAY. A BIT TOUGH TO READ THIS MORNING. BAD SINUS DAY AND EYES SWOLLEN SHUT. TOO MUCH WIND, RAIN AND HIGER TEMPS. NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD COMPLAIN ABOUT A WARMER WINTER  SORRY NO PERSONALS. MAYBE TOMORROW. HAPPY MONDAY/TUESDAY :moped: diyana 01-25-2010, 09:57 AM Happy Australia Day and Happy Monday!! After yesterday's football games, Annie and I must be happy with the results. Her team, the Colts, won. And the Saints beat the Vikings (the team I hate). And while the Vikings QB, who used to be a Packer, can make some amazing plays, he can also take fans right to the brink of joy before making a stupid mistake and costing the game. It was SO NICE to see him do that to the Vikings! :woohoo: Super Bowl in two weeks, and frankly I would be happy with either team winning. I really like the Colts and Peyton Manning, but New Orleans has NEVER even been to a Super Bowl, much less won. Plus, it would be so good for the people of New Orleans who went through so much with Hurricane Katrina. I did 40 minutes of Wii Fit during the Colts game...it's so cool that you can do either Step or jogging in place and STILL watch your favorite program on TV. It counts your steps, helps you keep rhythm (in Step), and tracks your time. Tonight is Zumba and probably strength training too. Shad - I hope you had a wonderful Australia Day! So nice that you found someone to tend to your garden while you're away. Annie - Congrats on the Colts win! Did you have fun watching the game? Did you have the conversation with Mike yet? Happy - I hope your physical goes well. A berry smoothie sounds totally yummy. Mel - I hope your allergies/sinuses get better. Rest those swollen eyes, okay? I'll check in again later. In the meantime, here's to a great Monday for all of us! Lots of love and hugs, Laura705 01-25-2010, 11:21 AM Hello everyone! Shad - Hope you had a nice Australia Day and there wasn't too much craziness down under. Sushi train? Choo choo! Michelle - Good for you for working out during the football game! I watched part of the New Orleans/Vikings game - good one. I'm glad New Orleans won it and will go to their first SuperBowl. Happy - Hope the annual physical goes well. I have a reminder in my calendar to schedule an eye doctor appointment. I'll do that today. Mel - Sorry the sinuses are causing problems. Feel better soon!! Hellos to Annie & Ceejay! My weekend was alright. Spent some time trying to get rid of paper - it just comes in the door and piles up. I got rid of a lot, but I have a pile of magazines, newsletters, etc. to put into my backpack for train reading. I need to do that as it comes in the door so the pile doesn't grow in the first place! I also purged a few files in the home office. Not sure why I think it's important to keep electric and phone (and cable and gas) bills once they're paid. Saturday we did some shopping - nothing exciting. Sunday I went to the gym and afterwards bought dog food at W-mart. The dog food purchase ticked me off - Iams has yet again made the bag smaller and of course the price didn't go down. Luckily I was able to buy the one remaining 17.5 lb. bag - now the bags are 15.5 pounds. I'll check other stores - maybe this is just a WM thing? Doubtful. What else? Laundry, dog walk, tv, reading, cleaning. Nothing too exciting. I didn't put on makeup all weekend, so I was happy. :D Cheers! annie175 01-25-2010, 11:23 AM GO COLTS!!! ceejay52 01-25-2010, 12:58 PM Afternoon chicks. I saw snow flurries earlier this morning. It's cold outside today also. I'm not used to this north wind. annie175 01-25-2010, 01:40 PM SHeesh I have been here like 4 times to try and post, my boss has me hoppin and I cannot get one personal thing done. We are having a "white out" snow situation right now, winds are blasting 30 miles an hour, it is kind of pretty looking at it from the 7th floor. Thank God none of it is really sticking. YET! I took a 20 minute lunch and wolved down my homemade chicken-throw junk in soup. OMG GO COLTS....it is so exciting here. THe game was awesome. So much fun. Oh Mellie...look up Colts player #17 Collins. He is quite yummy. He is my new fav. I had the "talk" with Mike Saturday night. All I can say is he must be pretty hyped up on me. I told him that the "connection" wasn't happening for me and that the sex thing was definitely out of the question. It was up to him if he wanted to pursue this relationship to see what might happen as I wasn't making any promises. He was ok with that. I told him I just didn't want to hurt him later on down the road if it didn't happen. He said he understood. I can't be any plainer than that. We had a great dinner went for coffee and he took me home. Sunday I met him at a pub down the road from my house to watch the game. I went home. It's funny, the less you pay attention to a guy the more they want you. Such idiots. I got into it with my dad Saturday at the nursing home. Long story short. The RN brought my mom a protein drink. She took a drink. Didn't like it and sat it down. Dad stood up and said YOU HAVE TO DRINK THIS. Mom said she would. I said, Dad she will drink it, she doesn't have to guzzle it down in 30 seconds. He yelled back, "QUIT SIDING WITH HER" He then tossed mom's hand down on bed and stormed out of the room. He stayed in the lobby the entire time I was there. My mom was kind of mad at him cause he has always had a short fuse and verbally abusive. As I passed the lobby on the way out, I turned to dad and said, you can go back in there now, I am leaving. My head is about to explode, too much crap always going on in my head. Sunday the 31st, baby boy is coming home and my brothers/wives are coming over for a Spaghetti dinner for baby boy's last homemade meal. He leaves Tuesday the 2nd for basic training. BB wants spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, and better than s*x cake for dessert. All pretty simple to put together. I am one proud sad momma. SHAD.....glad you made it home for some down time. and happy Austrialia day that is probably over by the time you read this. Have safe travels back to work. Chelle....guess you now have to root for the COLTS! THe big joke around here is when they showed ex-coach Dungy texting in the suite that he was texting Manning on what play to do next. haha Your weekend sounded very good as far as OP and exercise. Very, very good, my sista. Laura...doesn't matter what you do on the weekend, just that you eat healthy!! and stay OP. I am watching you.... MELLIE....hope the eyes are doing better. I have sinus issues year round, I don't think it ever goes away completely. I always sound like I am talking through my nose. Especially when I am tired, and let's face it, I am tired 90% of the time. Happy....mmmm I love I-Hop. I would pick IHop over fried chicken any day. Of course that is where the one-legged waitress works..I HOP. ba haha Ceejay...and we all know when that doorbell rings at 2 in the morning, it is NOT the Avon lady. That would drive me nuts. I hope they figure out what the cause is. Watch them say it is the daily test to see if the doorbell works. hahaha. Not much else going on. Hello's to everyone... love and hugs. 1day@atime 01-25-2010, 02:03 PM Hello Ladies, I was wondering are any of you on Skype? It's a software that is used for phone calls, video and Instant Messaging. If you on it, let me know, or email me and i'll get you my skype name...I only use for Instant Messaging... Not much going on here. I came down with a bad case of allergies. I went to the doctor last monday, got a shot and 2 prescriptions. I'm finally starting to feel better. Annie - Go Colts....but i'll have to admit i'm going to root for the Saints next week. Mitchellez - Happy Belated Anniversary... WTG on your workouts. One of the girls here is taking the Zumba class and we are all starting to see the difference. Who Dat!!!... it's the Saints marching in... I'm so glad they beat, you know who.... He needs to retire.... Laura - i'm with you on the paper... I don't know where it comes from. One of my goals for this year is to declutter my paper piles. Shad - Happy Austrilia Day - Enjoy your day.. Happy - I would say have a good day, but it's your having your annual physical.. How about good results..:) Mel - i hope you feel better. Ceejay - they are only allowed to run test during the day, if it too early or after hours, call them... MELODY525 01-26-2010, 08:00 AM http://i618.photobucket.com/albums/tt270/shortnana47/Group%20Tags/needmorningcoffeeANI.gif GOOD MORNING CHICKS. BACK TO TRY AGAIN. NOTHING IS PLANNED FOR THE DAY. CALLING IN SICK. THE EYES ARE FEELING BETTER BUT I DON'T WANT PERFUME IN THEM JUST YET. JUST GOING TO MEL-LOW OUT FOR ONE MORE DAY :beach: HAPPY TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY:moped: NOW I AM GING BACK TO READ AND SEE WHAT ANTICS YOU GALS HAVE BEEN UP TO :book2: diyana 01-26-2010, 08:05 AM Hi ladies - I'm tired and a little sore (good sore) today. I did Zumba and strength training last night, and tonight is another Zumba class. I'm trying to get in at least 40-45 minutes of exercise per day now. My SI joint is acting up a bit, but it has been a little over 6 months since my last cortisone shot, so I'm due for another one. I made an appointment with the doctor for Feb 12, and in the meantime, I'll just have to take some Aleve if it gets bad. So far, it's only bothering me off and on...not constantly like it used to, so I'm not going to give up Zumba or other exercising just yet. Ceejay - We're having the snow flurries here as well, luckily, it's not accumulating...just barely a dusting on the ground. Laura - I definitely need to get rid of paper. I keep bill statements too long, as well as magazines, etc. Thanks for the reminder, I have to stop and get dog food today, too. Annie - Wow! White out conditions! I'm glad that didn't come here. Collie is definitely a cutie, and he's been making some great catches lately too! I can't drool over him too much when I remember that I graduated high school 5 years before he was born! :o I thought it was cool that Coach Dungy was in attendance...too funny about maybe texting Manning what plays to call. I'm glad you made things clear with Mike. I guess he enjoys your company. :) Sounds like you have a nice dinner planned on Sunday for your son. Patty - I hope you continue to feel better. I'm not on Skype. I don't do a lot of instant messaging, mostly because I'm not on my computer at home that much, and it's blocked at work. And you're right...."you know who" who looks AWFUL in purple/gold/white DOES need to retire once and for all. Mel - I notice my sinuses act up when the weather changes (rain/wind especially). For that matter, I tend to get migraines around changes in the barometric pressure as well. Glad to hear you're feeling better and will be having a mel-low day. Shad - I hope your long weekend was wonderful!! Happy - Did your physical go well? That's all for now. I'll check in later. Love and big hugs, happy2bme 01-26-2010, 08:10 AM Hey there fabulous peeps, Yesterday was "be tortured at the doctor's day". I had a bone density test - lost another 1/2 inch - I am officially UNDER 5 feet tall now. Not good. Watch that calcium ladies. Also lost a bit of bone mass in my hips. Not enough to take meds but it doesn't make me any happier. I swear my mom's a good 3 inches shorter than me and it looks like I'm following in her path. Then I had the misfortune of having to have my blood drawn by a woman with a nasty attitude who did not like her job, people who weren't an "easy stick" and blue eyed Polish people like myself. I have bruises all over my arms today and was about to ask for another plebotomist who had a better atttitude when she finally coaxed enough blood out of my veins. And I have a spot on my nose that I thought was from the glasses rubbing that the doc suspects might be skin cancer. But I have to wait until Feb 16 to see the dermatologist. Then it was to the foot doctor in the afternoon who is still trying to diagnose the mystery foot pain. He gave me a shot below the ankle bone and it hurt so bad I involuntarily let out a string of expletives. It's really hurting today and I have another soft cast to melt in the shower. I have to go for an MRI tomorrow. I am so done with doctors. Mel - I'm sorry you are not feeling well right now. I'm sending you some good vibes  I see that you got a zinger of a storm your way too. Just hunker down and stay warm and dry, we hope you can come back very soon! :grouphug: Patty - I don't do Skype - sorry. Sometimes when the allergies are really bad, the only thing you can do is bite the bullet and get the professional hi potent stuff. It's way better than all the suffering. Hope it does the trick for you! Annie - like you said, could not have been any plainer with Mike so at this point it is his decision to get hurt. Yay for you for being up front about it. Bummer on Dad being a pouty kid about things. I would have said that maybe he's got some welled up frustration but if you said he's always been like that, maybe he needs to go have his tantrum in a corner. Sorry it's another frustrating thing for you. Your description of the white out is making me chilly  Laura - I have that same problem with piles of paper, including trucking it to work with me to read and toss (which I hardly do). As for the packaging getting smaller on products, I see that all over now. I'm sure they are doing it because they think we would like it better than raising the prices but we're no dummies ;) I admit that when some bottles go on special with 20% more as a promotion, I did to the back of the shelf and take the older stuff (as long as it's not perishable). Michelle - you crazy Zumba queen  I'm sure it made your day to see Brett lose on Sunday - I only watched the last 15 minutes of the game but figured you were doing the happy dance :D I would like to see New Orleans win too for the same reasons but DH thinks the Colts will run away with the game. Ok Ceejay - so the DVR is for the security system - I missed that and it does make all the difference. Another oops on my part! Gotta run. Showering is much more complicated with this darn cast. Have a good one ladies. MELODY525 01-26-2010, 08:21 AM SHAD~ I NOTICED YOU HAVEN'T BEEN HERE SINCE BEFORE AUSTRALIA DAY...DID THE BLOOD RUSH TO YOUR HEAD AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHERS??? TOO MUCH CELEBRATING??? HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT DAY. HAPPY~ DID THE FURNITURE G ON SALE? AND HOW DID THE DRS GO? GOD MORNING TO YOU TOO....AND I'LL TAKE A BERRY SMOOTHIE THANKS! CEEJAY~ WHEN I WAS WATCHING TV THEY SAID SNOW FLURRIES YOUR WAY...I REALLY THINK SOMEHOW YOU'RE GETTING ALL OUR COLD AIR. IT WAS ALMOST 60 HERE YESTERDAY DURING THAT DELUGE OF RAIN WE HAD. HOPE YOU ARE GETTING WARMED UP.:flame: MICHELLE~ I REALLY NEED TO TELL RICHIE HE SHOULD GET OFF HIS BUTT WHILE HE WATCHES TV LIKE YOU DO. YOU ARE BY FAR THE MOST ACTIVE TV WATCHER I KNOW!!! I CAN JUST SEE YOU JUMPING AND STEPPING AROUND IN FRONT OF THE SET :running: LAURA~ A WEEKEND WITHOUT MAKE-UP IS A GREAT THING. I HAD NONE ON TOO.....AND I CAN BE PRETTY SCARY WITHOUT ANY :witch: CEREAL HAS BEEN LIKE THE DOG FOOD. BOXES ARE THE SAME BUT THE CONTENTS LESSENED A FEW YEARS AGO BUT THEY KEPT THE PRICES THE SAME :faint: HOPE YOU HAVE SOME GREAT TRAIN READING!! :book2: ANNIE~ HOPE YOU AND THE FAMILY ENJOY THE TIME SPENT WITH YOUR BB :bb: THE DINNER SOUNDS GREAT. SAVE ME SOME TOO :hun: IF DAD WAS ABUSIVE VERBALLY BEFORE...THEN DURING THIS TIME OF STRESS AND HELPLESSNESS, HE WON'T IMPROVE ANY. SO TRY TO IGNORE AND STAY STRONG FOR YOUR OWN HEAD TOO  PATTY~ HOPE YOU ARE FEELING EVEN BETTER TODAY. THIS IS THE YEAR OF SINUS! I HAVE NO SKYPE...SORRY. I'M STILL WITH THE DIAL-UP DINOSAUR!!! :lol3: :lol3: MELODY525 01-26-2010, 08:26 AM I SEE MICHELLE AND HAPPY SNUCK IN........ HAPPY....I HOPE SOMETHING THEY COME UP WITH WORKS ON THE FOOT. SORRY TO HEART YOU HAD A BAD DAY AT THE DOCTORS. HATE THAT. SENDING A HUG  MICHELLE~ HOPE THE SI JOINT FEELS OK WITH THE ALEVE. TOO BAD YOU HAVE TO WAIT SO LONG FOR THE APPOINTMENT  diyana 01-26-2010, 09:04 AM Happy - That sucks that you had such a lousy day at the doctors. Thanks for the good advice about calcium....I sure don't need to be getting any shorter either. I HATE people who can't draw blood without impaling and bruising you. Why can't they be as good as the technicians when you donate blood. I hope the dermatologist appt goes well, it sucks that you have to wait that long. I can only imagine how painful the injection below the ankle must've hurt! Yeouch!! I hope your new soft cast doesn't melt, and I hope the MRI goes well. I really, really hope they find something to alleviate your foot pain very soon. That's gotta be awful!  All right, I admit, I am a crazy Zumba queen. My steps are almost starting to look more like dancing than aerobics. Of course, tonight, the instructor will throw in a new song/routine, and I'll be the clumsy behemoth again! The instructor does the moves with such ease and grace, of course, she's a professional dancer/dance instructor. As for the Super Bowl, I really like the Colts AND I'm a fan of Peyton Manning - he's very talented and his commercials are so funny. And I'd also like to see the Saints win their first Super Bowl. So really, I'd be happy with either team winning! It should be a good game, and hopefully not a one side blowout. Mel - You were having temps near 60? I'm SO jealous!! It warmed up to the low 40s here last weekend when it rained. Now it's back to highs in the low 20s and lows in the single digits (and below zeros). :brr: As for being an active TV watcher...I only am for 1/2 hour or 45 minutes...then my butt is planted FIRMLY on the couch! The SI joint will be okay. I was smart this time and made the appointment when the pain started...rather than wait until it got unbearable and STILL have to wait 2-3 weeks to get in. annie175 01-26-2010, 09:32 AM Tuesday, Tuesday...all so cold. High today in the upper 20's, lows in single digits. Burrr. The bright side, you ask? Only 53 days till Spring....whew who......... You know something is wrong when you wake up in the morning and immediately start thinking about the next time you get to lie down and sleep. I am so stinkin sleepy today and all I can think about is food. I suppose it could be PMS, but I haven't had a MS since August, not that I am complaining about it. MELLIE...you go right ahead and take a MELLIE day. You might want to put a quarrantine sign on the door to scare the seniors and lunch lady away. Patty...I am not on Skype nor do I twitter. I have enough stuff going on without adding that too. Sorry. Happy...I was poked and prodded last week. The blood draw was not bad but still got bruised up from it. I have to go for my smash o gram in February. Goodluck at the dermatoligist. Chelle...you get our office "YOU ROCK" rock for your great night of exercising last night. Don't get too ouie, hurtie on the back and joints. Feb 12 will be here soon enough. SHAD...Hope your home/down time was good and you made it back to work safely. You are amazing. Hello to all. Love and hugs, Laura705 01-26-2010, 11:28 AM Annie – Good you had "the talk" w/ Mike. I'm sure you're excited about those Colts!!! I'm happy to see the Saints go to the big game, but I think the Colts have the edge. Sorry you and your dad argued – nobody needs to add that to the stress you're all under. It sounds like you'll have a very nice send-off for your son. It's cold here too, ugh. And after such a nice mild Sunday. Only 47 more days until Daylight Savings Time starts. The longer days make me think of warmer weather. Patty – Nope, not on Skype. I can barely use my cell phone, LOL. Sorry to hear about the allergies! I'd be a mess w/o my allergy meds. Mel – A Mel-low day sounds good. Hope you're feeling better soon! Michelle – Hope the pain holds off until the shot and you can keep Zumba-ing. It seems like I'm always sore or achey with something lately. Fortunately, it's all been temporary for the most part. At some point one particular ache fades and another one replaces it… Happy – Oy, that annual doctor visit sounds like it was a real trial. Sorry the bone density results were not favorable. I had my first test a couple months ago w/ normal results, but I worry because my mother has osteoporosis, and grandmother was affected by it. My mother used to be 5'9" and now she's quite a bit shorter than me, and I'm 5'7"! I'm hoping the calcium (+D!) and my weight bearing activities (heavy backpack, LOL) can keep problems at bay. I'm sorry you're back in a cast. :( I can definitely see how you're sooo done with doctors by now!! Hi Shad, Hi Ceejay! I did one Body Electric workout last night. Feeling sore already. One of the routines was for the calves. Those always bring a lot of soreness for me, so I need to make sure I stretch them a lot today. My new pedometer came yesterday and I set it up last night. Steps so far today - 2897, 1.37 miles. Hmmm, wondering if the miles are accurate. I'm skipping the movies tonight, so I'll do another BE workout tonight. I just didn't feel like seeing anything this week. I purged another file from the file cabinet last night. This morning, however, I was running late and forgot to restock my train reading from the pile. I'll keep trying to tame this paper tiger!! Okay, better get cracking. Have a good day everyone! Cheers! annie175 01-26-2010, 11:33 AM Laura...good job on the body electric workout. Not making the movies might save you some popcorn calories. or even snack calories. and then working out tonight, double bonus! YYG diyana 01-26-2010, 12:32 PM Annie - Are you taking your iron, Vit D, B12 and all the rest? I hope you get a good night's sleep soon. I got a great laugh at the "YOU ROCK" rock! I'm still doing Zumba and strength training and Wii Fit, but I am listening to my back, and when it yells at me (even a little), I tone down the intensity and ask the instructor for modifications - which they are really good about demonstrating anyway. Laura - Good for you for all you're doing - Body Electric, getting extra steps, and organizing/purging. YGG! My calves also tend to get sore after a workout, particular after doing calf raises in strength training class. Also, I've noticed that sometimes I sleep with my toes pointed, and that makes my calves even more sore in the morning. So I've been making a point to at least fall asleep with my feet flexed, which stretches my calves. Enjoy your BE workout tonight. We will see how the next few days go. Chelle...Yep I talk all my vits, wouldn't go without as everything would go to h*ll in and outside of my body. I just started back with the iron last night as I had run out. I am sure it is iron related. I have my bariatric check up Feb 9th, I believe. Everyone have a great night....I don't work tonight either, but visiting momma. She wants me to bring her bananas so I guess I have to stop at the grocery on the way. Laura705 01-26-2010, 05:18 PM Annie - Have a good visit w/ mom tonight. Don't forget the bananas! I'm glad you have a bariatric check soon! Does that procedure have an effect on the absorption of the vitamins in your body? I usually avoid the movie theater popcorn - it smells good, but doesn't taste that good to me. But I do usually smuggle in a snack, sometimes healthy, sometimes not!! Michelle - Wow, you sleep w/ your toes pointed!? Are your bed covers tucked in? I can't sleep w/ the covers tucked in - my feet would feel too constrained. When I used to travel for work, I'd have to untuck all the bed sheets and then re-tuck the bottom sheet. At home, I don't tuck nuthin'! Mel - 3 hours a week? I better double up or triple up on my BE workouts because I've only been doing a single 30 min workout at a time, and I sure don't do that 6 times a week. And who can't use some sexy? (Not to mention strong and toned.) Besides, I need to catch up w/ Michelle, LOL! Shad 01-27-2010, 01:27 AM Unfortunately can't talk now. The internet at the flat has eaten my time and I need to see about getting something cheaper. The job is flat out, long hours and excrutiating stupidity. I am about to lose my cool. I'm not ignoring you all. I'd rather be talking to you but life has got in the way of fun plans. You gotta wonder where the brains of the d*ckwits have gone. I'll be back. diyana 01-27-2010, 07:53 AM Happy Wednesday everyone - Yay! Halfway through the work week! I've got an early meeting and then have to do my self appraisal for my performance review. Ugh. I hate writing those. I need at least one more cup of coffee before even attempting it. I had a really, really fun Zumba class last night. We learned a new song with lots of moves that are good for the abs, especially the obliques. And we did some of my favorite routines as well! Can't wait for more Zumba tomorrow night. Tonight, I'll be doing Wii Fit. Mel - Thanks for the You Rock award! Very Cute! Thanks also for Martha's shrimp recipes. And for the BE image. I can be strong, toned and sexy in 3 hours a week doing BE? Maybe I'll have to check it out. Zumba is helping me get stronger cardiovascularly, and strength training is making my muscles stronger, but I'm still not looking or feeling toned or sexy. I'll get there someday though. :belly: Annie - Hope you had a nice visit with momma. Glad to hear you're taking your vits. Laura - So did you end up doing another BE workout last night? As for my feet, nope, my covers aren't tucked in. I don't know why I occasionally sleep with my toes pointed. I guess I'm just weird that way. I've been trying to up my exercise to 40 or 45 minutes due to the WW challenge this week - 10 minutes of daily exercise for sedentary people, 10 EXTRA minutes for people who are already exercising. It hasn't been easy to get the extra 10 or 15 minutes in every day - I'm so used to working out in 30 minute time increments. But I'm doing my best, and it is a good challenge. Plus at least twice a week (like tomorrow night for example) I do 1/2 hour of strength training plus 1/2 hour of Zumba, so hopefully that makes up. Shad - I hope you find more time and a cheaper Internet so you can come here and vent. Sorry that this assignment is turning out to be so frustrating. Hang in there. Gotta run for now. I'll check in later. Lotsa love and hugs, annie175 01-27-2010, 07:56 AM Geez, is it hump day again? Yikes my life goes so fast. Shad...good grief, you poor thing, altho your posts are quite humorous. Especially your cast of d*ckwits. May the force be with you, my sista. Laura...the visit with mom was short because my tummy was hurting and she had the sh*ts. It made the entire wing at the home smell so bad, I felt so sorry for her, however the longer I smelled it the more my tummy hurt and thought I was going to puke. Bless her heart. It made me sad. Not much else going on in my world. Got home about 7:00 last night from moms and I did take her the bananas, don't know if she got to eat them or not. Her tummy was hurting also. I unloaded the dishes, collected the trash and went to bed. Fell asleep about 9, I think. Still could of slept in longer, but it was a bit easier to get up this morning. I took 3 iron tabs before bed last night. Gotta get that iron built back up. Hello to all y'all. Will check back later. Love and hugs, annie175 01-27-2010, 07:59 AM Chelle...you sneaker inner today....the zumba classes are keeping you excited about exercise, that is wonderful. Soon, in a not too far off date, you shall be buff. I am buff, but it is covered by other layers of stuff or fluff. lol. We won't even recognize you as Ms. Buff America the Exercise Queen!! MELODY525 01-27-2010, 08:31 AM ANNIE~ HOPE YOU AND MOM HAD A GOOD NIGHT..AND THE BANANAS! :cb: I ALSO HOPE YOU ARE FEELINGOK TODAY. OOPS...NOW I SEE ANOTHER POST...VERY GLAD TO HEAR YOU GOT SOME EARLY REST. I hope you both are feeling better today. I'm glad you got to bed early and got up a little easier today. :) I will gladly accept the title of Zumba queen, even if I still often look like a behemoth out there. But I've got a helluva long way before I get to Ms. Buff America! Mel - No worries about catching up with me...I'm holding out my hand to pull you and Laura up on the dance floor with me! Shall we dance, m'ladies? :dancer: I do DEFINITELY like my daily dose of endorphins!!! :woohoo: I'm glad you're enjoying your nice, calm week! And I'm knocking on wood so that it stays that way for you! Happy - I hope your foot (and you) are feeling better today. Patty - How are the allergies? Hope you're doing better. Well, gotta get working on the self-appraisal. It's easy for me to say what a wonderful worker I am, but the difficult part is proving it! annie175 01-27-2010, 09:45 AM Chelle...YUK on the appraisal thing. I got mine all done, now today is the one on one with the big boss about it. That is at 11:00 AM. YIK diyana 01-27-2010, 09:55 AM Annie - Good luck on your one-on-one with the big boss. I'm sending you :goodvibes: MELODY525 01-27-2010, 10:30 AM http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u129/memaernie/album%201/5908883e.jpg MELODY525 01-27-2010, 10:33 AM MICHELLE & ANNIE...GOOD LUCK WITH THE BOSSES TODAY AND EVALUATIONS ETC. ANNIE HOPE YOU AND MOM ARE BOTH FEELING BETTER. MICHELLE...I'M ABOUT TO CAtch up with you right now...going off to pedaL AS SOON AS I GET DRESSED!! LOL annie175 01-27-2010, 12:46 PM 1x1 went well with boss, it was just the preliminary. The final comes later down the road in a few weeks. These reviews are always so painful for me. I hate them. MELODY525 01-27-2010, 01:54 PM YA KNOW ANNIE I AM GETTING A GREAT IDEA...MAYBE I SHOULD ENCOURAGE THIS KIND OF THING AT THE OFFICE...THEN I COULD BE REALLY BAD AND THEY COULD FIRE ME!!! I COULD BE RETIRED IN JUST ONE SESSION! :cheer3: HANG IN THERE KIDDO. MAYBE YOU BEST GET A PAIR OF IRON-CLAD BIG GIRL PANTIES AND PUT THEM ON TILL IT'S ALL OVER. DON'T LET IT GET TO YA. :coffee: LOOKS LIKE I HAVE ALL MY PAPERS SO I CAN DO MY TAXES. WOULD YOU BELIEVE I HAVE TO CLAIM THE PITTANCE I AM GETTING FROM DISABILITY NOW WHEN IT ALL CHANGED IN MAY?? REMEMBER THE FIASCO? WELL NOW $213 A MONTH IS TAXABLE   THE LORD GOD UNCLE SAM GIVETH AND HE TAKETH AWAY! NEXT THING YOU KNOW I'LL BE DRAFTED AND SENT TO AFGHANISTAN! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1d/Unclesamwantyou.jpg/180px-Unclesamwantyou.jpg annie175 01-27-2010, 02:19 PM MELLIE>...if you get drafted and sent to Afghanistan, watch over my baby boy, will ya? He has 9 weeks of bootcamp, then 9 weeks of AIT (Military Police), I am thinking he will not leave for Afghanistan or Iraq till Mid-July. It is the government however, so who really knows. Shad 01-27-2010, 03:48 PM Annie - if Mel gets there before the baby boy, then there will be no war for him to fight. She will knock some sense into the idiots. Laura705 01-27-2010, 04:44 PM Shad - Sorry this assignment is a PITA, to put it mildly. But aren't you glad it's not a permanent position? :D Mel - Those graphics make me smile! Hope you continue to have peace & quiet this week! Michelle - Ick, self-evaluations. I handed mine in before Christmas, but the boss and I have yet to "have the talk". Yes, I did my BE workout last night. Even thought I went from show #1918 on Monday to #1919 last night, there were routines in that show for some of the same body parts! I didn't want to work my triceps and calves again, so I worked my inner thighs and deltoids instead. Along w/ other parts. Your raving about your Zumba classes is making me all sentimental about my Jazzercise classes. I really enjoyed my old location/instructor, but when I switched to classes closer to home...I honestly wasn't enjoying it anymore - the one location had cement floors that were hard on my feet. The other was basically a storefront and when you walked in the door, you were right in class - no dedicated areas to put your coat and bags. And the one instructor would blast the sound on her microphone because she claimed she couldn't hear herself. One class I made the mistake of standing too close to the blasting speaker and I decided to move elsewhere and she made a point of defending herself to me during the class. I'm glad I'm reminding myself of why I quit that, otherwise I might be tempted to rejoin! Annie - Sorry you and your mom weren't feeling good last night. Glad your prelim evaluation went well. I hate the process too. Well, it's !@#$% cold today, and windy as heck. I just want to go home, turn on the heated mattress pad, and crawl under the covers. Tonight I just might do that, since I'm taking a rest from the exercise. Tomorrow I'm going to the gym for the Yoga & Pilates class. It's one class, with both yoga and pilates. I've done both of those separately and like them (espec. pilates), so hopefully I like this class enough to make it a regular thing. Have a good rest of Wed/Thursday! Cheers! ceejay52 01-27-2010, 05:02 PM Popping in to say hello  Annie and Michelle Yuck on the self review's. Mel Beware there's a full moon lurking. About those taxes, I was asked so many questions this year about extra income, even wanted to know if I got a state refund. We are under a winter storm watch. I'm dreading it but at least I am off the next 4 day's. Shad 01-27-2010, 08:49 PM Actually, the job is not too bad. It's just that there are some stupid things going on due to the fact that there were no ground rules set down at the get go. And d*ckheads will play when the rules are not set in cement happy2bme 01-28-2010, 12:19 AM Hi ladies, Went for an MRI on the foot today. Left $500 poorer so the darn thing BETTER show up something :dizzy: I'm glad they think we have $500 just laying around in my purse. Got to get last year's health care reimbursement done so I can replace the money. Shad - sort of glad to hear that it's not every stint that's getting frustrating for you - just the way they handle things at corporate. If you figure out how to get them to change, let me know. Hope you find a more reasonably costing Internet connection soon as we do miss your wit. Ceejay - they are wavering about whether we will get the ice and snow (hope not) but it does look like it's very likely up your way. I'm glad you can hide out from it. Stay warm, safe and dry! Laura - thanks for the comment on Jazzercise. They are building a new one down the road from me but it's a store front with just one open room, doesn't appear to have much padding on the floor and might not be something that would work out too well in the long run. Have to see what happens when they finish building. Will be interesting to hear what you thought of the combo core class. A heated mattress pad sounds like H-E-A-V-E-N - just as long as it stops short and keeps the pillows cool  Mel - even if they try and tax you, I would think you would fall under the poverty level and not have to file a return. You should be reimbursed or take a big credit for all the fighting you have to do on a regular basis with the g-men. I sent your Victoria's secret to the girls at the office - they got a big kick out of it, especially since some of them are dragging quite a load in the front. I can't believe you're having a quiet week - maybe everyone is tired from making a fuss last week :lol3: Michelle - I really, really, REALLY think that you are a very valuable worker on your team. You are dedicated and always there when they need you sometimes working crazy hours. I do hope they recognize that and reflect that on your review. It's about time us seasoned workers get some recognition ;) Annie - I don't mind the appraisals (still waiting on mine) but the one with the big boss gives me the heebie jeebies. I have a hard time smiling and lying which is what they want you to do :D :crossed: Glad your's is moving along. Sorry to hear that you and Mom were feeling lousy. Hope that's over with. Yikers - 3 iron tabs at once :yikes: you won't go until next week :yikes: I am trying to use my cast iron pan as much as possible. I guess you can get a bit of iron leaching into the food from that. Probably is bad for you too, yah think? :dizzy: Oh well - I am tired, I keep telling myself I'm going to get a little more sleep - even if it's 30 minutes extra so I'd better get off here while I still can try. Nighty night to most of us, give 'em h*ll at the office Shad  annie175 01-28-2010, 07:51 AM Good Morning Peeps, we are all in our places with bright shiney faces!!! Not much to report....well E-CVS = EHarmony was on last night. Had another guy ask me out, but said nope. He had pretty blue eyes but that was about it. Bald, ears stuck out, needed to shave and was a smoker. Just can't do the smoker thing. We did get about a half inch of snow last night, just enough to make the idiot drivers come out. I say, if you are afraid to drive in it, stay home and outta my way. Very cold here today....18 degrees and flurries off and on. GOOD NEWS....Only 51 days till Spring!! Yeah BABY!!! Laura...mmmmmmm heated matress pad. I would love to have one of those as I sleep with my heating pad, not because anything is bothering me, but because it keeps me warm. I know, I am not right in the head. Girl, you get back to your exercising and staying OP....don't make me come there a kick you in the arse. Shad...I am afraid if we deplay MELLIE there would be another kind of war going on and would they understand it. LOL Things will be better once the work place gets your ground rules Shad 101 on board. Goodluck with that. Ceejay...hi back at cha....looks like you might get some freezing crap coming down soon. Stay warm and safe, my sista friend. Happy...yeah and get this...my boss told me on the eval that it does NOT reflect toward your raise. Weird huh. It is strictly to see where are, how we perform etc. How could 2.5% raise be any less. Well I guess it could, like 0%. Umm, iron out of the skillet, yeah go ahead, everything has potential to kill us anymore. Chelle....how's it goin'. WI for you today....goodluck..I know you won't need it because you are OP and EXERCISING...RIGHT??!!! Hidee ho to all. Love and hugs. happy2bme 01-28-2010, 08:15 AM Hah on what you said on the raise Annie. We got 2 percent one year and were grousing. So we got nuttin' last year - unless of course you were management who all got bonuses. There's rumor the 2 percent might be back again so I guess we just have to be happy with it. :dunno: Ugh on the smoker. I could not date a smoker either. Didn't sound like he was putting his best foot forward there. I think the bald thing / close shave has been over done. Not that I want someone with 3 foot dreds either  They have knocked down an abandoned restaurant at the corner of one street on my way home. There is a big sign that they are building a CVS. I will have to check it out. Not sure I've ever been in one :D Time for me to get out of here. Stay warm ladies. I hope we miss the ice tomorrow. MELODY525 01-28-2010, 08:17 AM ANNIE~ SHAD IS RIGHT...IF I GET THERE FIRST,,,,THEWRE WON'T BE ANY WAR LEFT TO FIGHT! :rollpin: ECVS   EVERY TIME I THINK OF THAT I CRACK UP. WSENDING WARM THOUGHTS. LAURA~ STAY WARM. WE'RE HAVING COLD HERE NOW TOO. THE HEATED MATRESS PAD SOUNDS GREAT TO ME. I HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT THEM! :brr: CEEJAY~ YOUR 4 DAYS CAME AT A GREAT TIME. WE GOT A DUSTING. KEEP WARM. DOES THE TAX MAN THINK YOUR RICH??? HAPPY~ WILL PRAY FOR SOME KIND OF ANSWER FROM THE MRI :yoga: HOPE YOU GOT THE EXTRA SLEEP. THE JOKE CRACKED THE OFFICE UP HERE AS WELL. MANY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM TOO :lol3: http://forums.provida.com/forums/storage/55/3391228/bubble.gif GOOD MORNING CHICKS. THE WEEKEND IS ALMOST UPON US SO PUT THE SMILE BACK ON Y0UR FACE :D I GOT A RETURN CALL LAST NIGHT AND I DO NOT HAVE TO CLAIM THE DISABILITY UNLESS IT'S OVER $25,000 AND IT'S NOT EVEN $3,000. THANKS GOD FOR SMALL FAVORS. THE FIRST MAN I SPOKE TO ASSUMED MY COMBINED INCOME WOULD BE OVER THE MARK   HE MUST HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR CAUSE WHAT A JOKE THAT WAS. SD I SHOULD GET THE SAME EIC TAX RELIEF I HAD LAST YEAR. DOING THE HAPPY DANCE. I HAVE A MEETING TO ATTEND TONITE. I CANNOT FIND A REPLACEMENT AS YET.....GEE...I WONDER WHY?! OK...OFF TO BEGIN THE DAY. :moped: HAPPY THURSDAY/FRIDAY :cb: MELODY525 01-28-2010, 08:19 AM HAPPY...YOU SNEAKER INNER YOU....OF COURSE YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN IN A CVS....YOU ALREADY HAVE A HUSBAND!!! THE WHOLE TIME I'VE BEEN TYPING, SHOWERING AND PEDALING...IT'S BEEN SNOWING LIKE AN S.O.B OUTSIDE! BIG WHITE FLUFFY FLAKES AND AT AN UBER STEADY PACE. WHAT THE HECK! :yikes: I AM GONNA CALL THE OFFICE AND TELL THEM I CAN'T ATTEND THE MEETING IN THE CONFERENCE ROOM DUE TO LACK OF SNOW TIRES!!  annie175 01-28-2010, 09:19 AM Plus I have an excused note for you. annie175 01-28-2010, 09:20 AM Fabulous Worldlie Females Flinging our Fat Fanny's Far From February. diyana 01-28-2010, 10:14 AM Happy Thursday - It's freaking cold today. Actually temp when I left the house was 5, with a windchill of 15 below. Tomorrow is going to be pretty much the same. On a positive note, it gorgeously sunny outside...making you think it might actually be nice out...Mother Nature's deceiving us again. I was really tired last night, and not feeling well. I had to run out and get a few quick groceries for dinner. Then by the time I got dinner started, I was too tired and nauseous to even do a little bit of Wii Fit, so I took the night off and relaxed. I'm feeling a bit better today, so I'm planning on doing Zumba and strength training tonight. I've gotten about halfway done with my self-appraisal. I'm hoping to finish that up today so I can get back to my other projects. Speaking of projects, this weekend will be busy doing website projects, and maybe some cleaning/organizing of the scary upstairs (the office and the craft supplies loft). DMIL may be coming to live with us. She's at least coming for an extended vacation probably in March or April, and then we'll reevaluate what the situation in Cal. is in the late summer/fall. She's been living with one of DH's sisters, and the house they were renting is going up for sale, so they have to be out on Feb. 8. She's putting her stuff in storage and will stay with another of DH's sisters for a month or two until she comes out here (she has doc appts scheduled, etc.). But she'll probably lose any Cal. sponsored insurance and/or disability if/when she moves. So we're looking at ways to replace that here. If she ends up living here, DH will likely drive to Cal. to pick up her stuff, which is why the cleaning/organizing (which I'll be working on off and on during the spring/summer) as I figure out where to put the stuff in the guest room so that her stuff will fit. :) Mel - I'm so glad you don't have to claim your disability on your taxes! I have to ask my website clients for tax papers so that DH can start on our taxes. That snoring butt joke was SOOO funny! Thanks for sharing it!! Too funny about you not being able to attend the meeting due to lack of snow tires! Shad - I hope the d*ckwits have become less d*ck-y. Laura - Good for you for doing another BE workout!! In terms of aerobics classes, the right instructor does make all the difference, and of course the right atmosphere helps too. Have fun with Yoga/Pilates tonight. Ceejay - I hope you enjoy your time off. If you get the winter storm, just hunker down indoors and stay warm. :) Happy - I hope the MRI on your foot offers some answers. If I were you, with your foot, I would DEFINITELY avoid Jazzercise on a hard floor. Thanks for the kind words about me. Hopefully my manager, director and VP all feel the same way. As for iron, I take a multivitamin and eat about a cup of spinach a day on my salad. I'll know tomorrow if my iron is high enough to donate blood. Annie - E-CVS is better than E-Harmony...it doesn't cost you and you actually get paid to be there. From how you describe the guy, I don't think I could go there either, even if I was single. Unlike Happy, I would actually prefer 3 foot dreds to bald, and smokers = big turn off for me. My ex was a smoker and even I was a smoker up until 20 years ago, but now...ugh. 18 degrees? I wish it would get that warm. Can't wait for spring!! Question...how can your eval NOT reflect on your raise? that's just nuts! BTW, I love your idea for the title of Feb's thread!! Happy and Annie - I hear ya' both on raises. I hope to get one this year. But as long as they keep letting me in the building and paying me twice a month, I'll be happy. I've got to get back to my self appraisal. I'll check back in after weigh in. Please keep your fingers :crossed: for a :goodscale: for me. Love you all, Laura705 01-28-2010, 01:17 PM Ceejay – enjoy your 4 days off! Hope the weather cooperates and you're not housebound all that time (unless you want to be!). Shad – So it's not the job but some of the people. Figures. There's always some d*ckhead(s) making life difficult. Happy – I hope that MRI shows what's troubling your foot so they can fix it! The cushioned floor is about the only thing that I liked about the new Jazzercise location by me – oh, yeah, I also liked that it was close to home. The heated mattress pad is wonderful. I love to crank it up and have a nice toasty bed while I read and then shut it off when I'm ready for lights out. If I forget, I'll wake up very very warm – major ick. Annie – Yeh, I couldn't be w/ a smoker. No way Jose. Our company is having it tough in this economy, so no merit increases this year. The 2-2.5% that seemed so measly last year would have been very welcome this year. Mel – I didn't think you'd have to file/report unless your income was over a certain amount. Glad to hear it confirmed. Michelle – Wow, that would be a big change having MIL moving in w/ you! Glad you're feeling better today. Fingers crossed for the weigh in and have a good Zumba class tonight! Not much to report. TOM is here and being mean. It's too bloody cold here and I wish to heck I had a heated seat right now. I asked bf if he wanted to go to the Pilates/Yoga class tonight and he agreed. We'll see if he actually follows through. That's about it. Happy Thurs/Fri. everyone. diyana 01-28-2010, 02:19 PM Good afternoon everyone - I had a good scale...not a great scale....but a good scale. I was down 0.2 lb - better than nothing and better than a gain, so I'm happy. :) Laura - Sorry TOM is being a PITA (or elsewhere actually). Hope it eases up soon. Good for you for going to Yoga/Pilates despite a mean TOM. Hopefully, bf will go with you. :) annie175 01-28-2010, 03:59 PM Very good Chelle....I am so proud of you....on your weigh/way down. Movin' in the right direction. More water, less salt.....I sure talk a good story, don't I. You get a double gold star for today. annie175 01-28-2010, 04:00 PM Laura...booo on the TOM. Drink more water, it will help flush liquids out of your system. Laura705 01-28-2010, 04:39 PM Michelle - Yay for the good scale! :goodscale Annie - Let me gulp down the rest of this water and get a refill! MELODY525 01-28-2010, 07:53 PM http://www.jucoolimages.com/images/friday/friday_09.gif PRETEND I AM POSTINGTHIS ON FRIDAY MORNING  JUST GOT HOME FROM THE 2 MEETINGS. THEY WENT VERY QUICKLY. I AM ALMOST EMBARASSED TO SAY THAT I ENJOYED THEM BOTH. MAYBE IT WAS THE COMPANY. PEOPLE THAT AREN'T SENILE AND/OR CRYING OR WHINING ABOUT SOMETHIONG FOR ME TO "FIX". BUT I WON'T ADMIT THE ENJOYMENT TO ANYONE ELSE!! JEN IS A BIT UNDER THE WEATHER SO I NEED TO GO FOR A FAST FOOD SHOP TOMORROW AND ALSO GET SOME OFFICE STUFF DONE. IF I POST TONITE I WON'T HAVE TO READ WHEN I COME BACK. THE PERFUME TONITE WAS A BIT MUCH BUT I MIGHT BE ABLE TO DEAL WITH IT...I'LL FIND OUT TOMORROW WHEN I WAKE. HAPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT FRIDAY!! :moped: MELODY525 01-28-2010, 08:05 PM ANNIE....I MIGHT JUST NEED THAT EXCUSE SO HANG ON TO IT! :lol3: :lol3: "Fabulous Worldlie Females Flinging our Fat Fanny's Far From February. " OMG!! I AM GLAD I WASN'T DRINKING ANYTHING WHEN I READ THIS!! TOO FUNNY ANNIE. LAURA~ SO SORRY YOU ARE UNDER THE WEATHER SO TO SPEAK. HOPE UNCLE TOM GETS OUT OF YOUR LIFE IN A HURRY AND YOU FEEL BETTER. ALL THE WONDERS OF BEING FEMALE...NOT!!!! HOPE YOU FELT WELL ENOUG TO GO TO THE CLASS....AND WITH BF NO LESS!!!:cb: MICHELLE....HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER TONITE AND TOMORROW. YOU HAD A GOOD SCALE AND THAT WAS NICE TO READ TONITE! GOOD FOR YOU!! JUST FOR THAT YOU CAN GET ON THE SCALE AGAIN FOR ME!! here's the 2 gold stars from annie!! be careful where you pin them !! http://images-partners-tbn.google.com/images?q=tbn:hM_NzAC5XccVfM:www.gregneri.com/newassets/gold_star.gif http://images-partners-tbn.google.com/images?q=tbn:hM_NzAC5XccVfM:www.gregneri.com/newassets/gold_star.gif ceejay52 01-28-2010, 08:33 PM I sneaked a peak at the scale this morning. I could not believe what I saw. I'm 2 pounds down. YIPEE. Annie That would be a good mantra for February. Is your mother feeling better? Michelle .2 is a loss and not a gain. That's great. It's so good of you to let mil come stay with you. Hope you are feeling better. Some times we need down time. I'm not planning on going anywhere. Mel Short office meetings are always good not enough time to get into arguments. Laura Hope things subside with TOM soon. I don't miss that aspect of my life one ioda. Did you feel like going to the gym? How do you like your new pedometer? Our winter weather is suppose to get here soon. The weather people are predicting 2-6 inches for our area and southern Missouri around 8 to 10 inches. I'm prepared food wise and praying that the power stays on because this apartment is all electric. i have no alternative source of heat. ADT came to install the rest of the stuff I wanted. Now I feel and secured. Every one stay warm. I annie175 01-29-2010, 08:55 AM TGIF FO SHO............ Good Morning my chick a dees............colder than 3 kinds of H*LL today. Was only 17 on the way in this morning with negative windchill. So sad for southerners...TN, KY, MO, AK, AL, even TX you all will be getting snow and ice. Hate to say it, but glad it is not me and sorry it is you all. Laura....drinking water till your eyes float...good for you. I will admit I stopped and had sausage gravy and biscuit on the way to work. I feel like a fat cow now. Doesn't help that I wore sweats to work today. MELLIE...love, love, love the Friday dance cats. SO dang cute. You all stay in this weekend and take care of each other. Watch movies, pedal, and eat healthy. I am liking carrots w/yogurt ranch dressing made by Bolthouse. So dang good. Ceejay....WTG, you are rockin' with that 2 lb loss. You and Chelle are on the same rockin' boat. Congrats. Yes momma is doing a bit better, thank you for asking. Chelle...ok, so there is a Purdue (Lafayette, Indiana) college grad on the Saints, so I guess you can root for the Saints a little bit. Even tho I am an IU (Bloomington, Indiana) fan. You stay OP and exercise this weekend, don't let all your hard work go down the tubes. Shad must be under the work haystack today. Not much else going on....hello to everyone else. Love and Hugs, diyana 01-29-2010, 10:03 AM Happy Friday!! TGIF! I am so ready for the weekend. Finally got my self-appraisal done. Yay! I won't have the meeting with my boss or know my review for awhile yet though. I had a great strength training class that kicked my butt (and my legs and abs too), followed by a really, really fun Zumba class. The entire class enjoys it...so much so that we make requests for certain songs/dances! It's a blast! My weight loss yesterday was not nearly as much as I would've liked, but a loss is a loss and I'm happy about it. And since I have no plans for big fattening dinners this week like I had last weekend, I should do better this week. I was scheduled to donate blood this morning at a work-sponsored blood drive, but they tested my iron count and said it was a teeny bit too low. I was really bummed out and wanted to "comfort" myself with some of the cafeteria's delicious bread pudding that they hardly ever make but made this morning. Bread pudding is my absolute all time favorite dessert treat, making it extremely hard to resist. Luckily, when I went to the cafeteria to get more water, coffee and, yes, bread pudding, there were two women from my WW at work group who have both been extremely successful (they've lost like 30-40 lbs each so far) and they do it by staying OP. I went up to one of them and said, "I'm sooo glad you're here at this moment." She said, "You were going to be bad weren't you?" I told her I was up here for the bread pudding. She suggested other alternatives, but none sounded as good. So I got my water and coffee and went back to my desk, where I took out a Fiber One Peanut Butter bar. I'm enjoying that right now and it's very yummy. And it's 2 points as opposed to 13!! :dancer: Mel - I love the Friday kittie dance! They look like they're doing Zumba! Thanks for the gold stars btw! I hope you're doing okay today after the perfume last night. Ceejay - Congrats on the 2 lb weight loss! That's wonderful!! :woohoo: :cp: :cp: Wow! 2-6" of snow. Like Annie said, sorry you southerners have to have it, but I'm glad it's not up here. We're having bitter cold instead. It was 1 above when I left for work this morning, with a -10 or -15 windchill. :brr: Stay hunkered down and warm during the storm. Annie - We're having a cold one here today too. The sausage gravy and biscuit sounds yummy. They make that here on Mondays...and I used to have it regularly until I looked up the points. Can't do those anymore. At least the cafeteria chef still makes the yummiest Egg Beaters omelettes with lots of veggies, and those are only 4 points! Thanks for the tip on the carrots with yogurt dressing. So glad to hear your momma is doing better. Are you working at CVS (or E-CVS) this weekend? I've got lots of website work to do, so I'm not sure if I'll get to watch the Pro Bowl. As for the Saints, there are at least two ex-Packers that I like that are on the Saints. Still don't know who I'll root for in the Super Bowl. I'd be happy either way. Happy - I sure hope you're doing better. When do you get the results of your MRI? Try and stay off your foot as much as possible this weekend, okay? I know you won't, but I just thought I'd say that anyway. Laura - do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I'll check in later and probably tomorrow too. Lots of love and hugs, happy2bme 01-29-2010, 11:32 AM Hello from the land of ice and snow. It's very crispy outside. We're in for a doozer of a storm - at first they said we were on the cusp of freezing rain and regular rain but I think we're going to get dumped on. I hope the power stays one. We only have about 3 pieces of wood to burn in the fireplace  Ceejay - I'm sure it's a real mess up your way. Hopefully you just get the snow and not the ice. I'm crossing fingers about the power staying on too. If you live on an upper floor at least some of the downstairs heat will rise to keep you warm. Not so if you're ground floor. Congrats on a great weigh in! Michelle - isn't it fortunate that you had an "intervention" in the cafeteria  I like bread pudding too - especially the yummy vanilla sauce that goes on top. I know that Fiber One bars are no substitute for bread pudding but at least they are a whole lot tastier than Kashi bars or dry whole grain toast. I find a mix of vanilla yogurt, any kind of fresh berry and some almonds or walnuts are a decadent but healthy treat. 4 points for an egg beaters omlette? Is that with cheese? Sounds kinda pointy as 2 regular eggs would be 4 points and the veggies are freebies. I won't know the results of the MRI until I go back to the doc on Feb 8. That's a mixed bag of news on the DMIL. I know you would love to have her live with you but bummer on losing the benefits. Perhaps if you could prove hardship they could transfer benefits. I know of someone who has been collecting unemployment for 3 years STRAIGHT in Wisconsin. They just keep renewing the benefits. I can't believe it but they said they don't feel they are cheating since the gov keeps renewing it so may you find the same loophole for someone who could use the help. Can you believe that February is here already????? Mel - you tassle twirling "star" how are you today. Fun with pasties with the seniors for craft day today  I guess not, huh. Hope you survived the perfume cloud. Laura - did BF go to class with you? I am amazed he would offer. What a dude! Actually flexibility and core work would help guys too - so not girly at all in my book. Was the class fun? I taped a Tyra Banks (talk) show and was watching it last night. It was about people doing "bad" things - like eating food at the grocery store and not paying for it, stealing music online, not being honest if they got back too much change, taking things that weren't theirs, lying and cheating. The audience was full of younger people of course who were smug and almost bragging about being cheaters. They were quite proud of themselves. I wonder if they'd keep smiling if I went into their purse and took their money or went on a shopping spree with their credit card cuz after all, I am the one paying for their sorry butts... One lady had a huge diamond ring and wedding set on her finger - took up half her finger and she said she always went to the grocery store and ate food. In fact she brings her kids and if they want chips or cookies, she lets them eat out of the bag, she herself eats (unwashed) fruit all the time. She said she thought it was ok because IF ASKED she would pay for the stuff but if they store people did not confront her, she said she would not pay for what she and her brats ate. Now this ring alone looks like it would keep any of us comfortable for at least a year so she ain't hurting for money. I am getting SO disgusted with people. Our restroom has been particularly gross and filthy this week, several times I walked into a stall and hurried out, gagging at the mess. Yet you aren't supposed to say anything about it to the pigs. What is with people? Do their parents not teach them the least bit of manners? Or do they try and then are undermined by their peers and crap they read online? Now I myself will admit to tasting a grape. ONE grape. With the intent to buy. There is no way to tell if grapes are sweet just by looking at them. I have gotten burned a couple of times paying $5.00 for a bag of grapes only to get them home and they are beautiful but sour as all can be. So now I taste one and if it's good, I buy a big bag. That's the only thing I would dare "sample". I think stores stopped carrying bulk items in bins for both a sanitary reason and because lots of people seemed to think it was quite alright (especially old men who should know better) to grab a handful of something, walk around the store nibbling and then sometimes go back for more. I guess I'm just getting to the point where I would prefer to not be around people :^: but really it's the all around rudeness that really bothers me. Anyway - back to work. Hello's to all the worldlies... diyana 01-29-2010, 11:54 AM Happy - I hope your power stays on. I hate freezing rain. I'd rather have snow than freezing rain. Good luck. It is definitely fortunate that I had an intervention. I just COULDN't get bread pudding with the two VERY successful WW losers standing right there. You're right about the omelette...I don't know what I was adding up. The cafeteria uses 3/4 to 1 cup of Egg Beaters for an omelette, which is roughly 2 to 2.5 pts, and the veggies are freebies. As for DMIL, I told John we need to find out what sources of fixed income she gets (I know one is Social Security, but I don't know if she gets State Disability from Cal or what), and I know she has Medicare which is Federal, and I know she has supplemental, but not sure if that is something she purchases from the state or the Feds. I'm planning on contacting our local Department of Aging and Senior Services to see what we can do for her. Mel - I forgot to mention...I HATE strong perfume. Even not strong perfume can send me straight to an asthma attack or migraine or both. I can't pass through the perfume area in most department stores. I hate magazines that have the perfumed ads/samples. And I used to even have trouble in the laundry detergent aisle of the store - it would just shut my lungs down right away. Well, I'd better get back to it. Just a few more hours 'till the weekend! :dancer: annie175 01-29-2010, 12:03 PM Chelle...that was the guardian angels I sent you to watch out for unhealthy eating habits. Wonderful, it worked. If you had eaten that bread pudding, food would be controlling you, however since you said no, with help from angels, you are controlling food. WTG Happy....Stay warm and I know what you mean about food snatchers. I watched this woman get a bag of cherries, eat them through the entire store while shopping then set the leftovers (which weren't many) on a shelf. She never did pay for any of them. later gaters. diyana 01-29-2010, 12:11 PM Annie - Thank you SO much for sending the guardian angels!! In a little while I'll have my lunch of a SmartOnes WW frozen dinner and a BIG salad. Yummm! (no sarcasm....I really do like WW dinners and salads!) ceejay52 01-29-2010, 12:16 PM Morning and happy snowy Friday. Yes it is snowing and so far it looks like 2 inches on the ground. The weather people are predicting 4 to 8 inches. We may get the 8 inches. It was sleeting this morning when the pay check arrived. I don't need to go any place to go so I'm sitting tight. Did all my errands yesterday. My pay check came this morning but it can wait till Sunday or Monday to be deposited. Happy I see little ones eating chips and drinking soda's all the time itn the grocery store. I do see some pay for the items but others don't. Did you go to work today? Michelle Good for you in by-passing the bread pudding. And going to the gym. I'm watching Paula Dean's cooking show and she's been invited to visit Jimmy Carter's child hood home. He's aged well but the first lady looks feeble. I'll be glad when the power plant gets through purging. I am at least getting used to the sound. diyana 01-29-2010, 12:48 PM Ceejay - You're smart to stay inside, all warm, dry and cozy. I had the priveledge of shaking former President Carter's hand and getting his autograph at a book signing two or three years ago. He has aged, but aged well. And he was very kind and gracious, and still has that warm smile. annie175 01-29-2010, 01:05 PM Ceejay...welcome to Indiana weather. That is one thing about Indiana weather...it can change day to day. This day last year....Yes, January 29, Speedway, Indiana had a tornado. Laura705 01-29-2010, 05:03 PM Happy Friday everyone! Ceejay - Hope you're keeping warm and snug at home today with power! I definitely felt well enough to go to the yoga/pilates class last night and I did go. So far, I'm liking my new pedometer just fine. I like that it doesn't rattle, and that I can just carry it in my pocket and not have to clip it onto my waistband "just so". I feel it's pretty accurate, but I haven't done a test of any sort. Steps today are at 5,005 so far. Mel - Hope you're having a good day today and not feeling any ill-effects from the perfume. Glad the meetings weren't that bad. Guess what - bf did NOT end up going to the yoga/pilates class w/ me last night! Thanks for posting the kitty dancers! Cutie pies! Michelle - Congrats on passing up the bread pudding this morning! I still remember the absolutely sinful chocolate bread pudding served for dessert at my employer's holiday party several years back. Yum. The exercise class last night was a good workout, but I don't think it was as fun as your Zumba class!! I'm glad you've been enjoying it so much. :) Happy - I'm glad I didn't see that tv show! Bf and I watched a stand up comedian on dvd a couple weeks ago who was joking about how anything goes at Kmart in terms of the behaviors you mentioned. I hope you stay safe and warm during the icky weather you're getting! I definitely think the class I took last night is good for everyone, not just women. But bf probably would not have felt comfortable at all because he's never done that type of exercise. He used to cycle a LOT, so he'd like to take a spinning class sometime. Annie – Wearing sweats to work – that sounds way better than jeans to me!! And I didn't even get to wear jeans for the past three days because of an off-site seminar Wed. AM, and yesterday and today are the co's board meetings, so we have to wear our business casual. Trying to drink more water, but today it's been tea and a diet soda and not as much water. It's easier to guzzle water once I'm at home. So last night I went to the Yoga/Pilates class. By myself. Not a surprise that bf backed out, LOL. He was like, “Is Pilates a chick thing?” When I got to the gym, the class before mine was still in progress. While waiting outside the room, I chatted w/ another student and she told me about the class. It was a mix of stuff, starting off w/ a Tai Chi sort of warm-up, and segments that included yoga, balance, twisting and core movements. Unfortunately, she also said that this was the last class. Apparently the pregnant instructor was being cut (even though she could have gone several more weeks), and there was doubt that a substitute instructor would take over the class. The instructor confirmed this to us before class. I don't know what the real reason is for eliminating the class. It doesn't seem like it could have anything to do w/ the instructor's pregnancy, so it must be just to save costs. It's Bally, so I'm not surprised. Anyway, I enjoyed the class. More than the yoga only class, but I wish there had been more core movements. I definitely got a workout though, and that’s what counts. And there were about 5-6 men in the class, so there. :D Nothing planned for tonight. We're having another couple over for dinner tomorrow evening, so we'll be cooking and cleaning tonight/tomorrow to prepare for that. Sunday I'll do my cardio session at the gym. Bf just told me that his mother is having his sibling & family over for lunch on Sunday and asked if we wanted to stop by to say hello. Truthfully, no, I don't. Nothing against any of them, but I really resent unexpected/unplanned activities cutting into my time. I know this makes me sound horribly inflexible and unspontaneous, but I like to have plenty of "me time" on the weekend. I'm already obligated to the dinner, which I didn't have any say so on the date, and I'll be spending my whole Saturday on that…. Okay, I'm just being b*tchy, so I'll stop right now. Have a good weekend everyone. Shad 01-29-2010, 10:42 PM Yeehaa - :woohoo: - finally got my new internet connected. I now have unlimited time - well 30 days anyway and 2gb to play with for $29 a month. Previously it cost me $66 for 10 hours and if you didn't practically kiss it goodnight, it continued eating up the bytes. So I will be able to talk more often now. However it has taken me so long to actually install it, I need to be back in town for dinner with D. More later. IS THAT LIKE APRICOT BREAD OR DATE-NUT LOAF? BANANA BREAD? ETC???? ALTHOUGH THE BOOK IS WRITTEN IN THE KING'S ENGLISH AND HAS NO ACCENT...THIS SNAGGED ME!  ceejay52 01-30-2010, 12:37 PM Mel We did indeed receive more than 2 inches. I just measured the depth of the snow on the car and it was 4.5 inches. We may have more. It's beautiful and I'm so glad I don't have to be out in it today or tomorrow. I'm praying the sun shines today to start the melting process. However, the streets does look like they are melting a bit. This is the kind of snow that is good for snow men and snow ball fights. Hope the men with the tools are not making to much noise today. I thought I had a throw away camera but could not find one. I don't have a camera on my cell phone. I wanted to make pictures of the snow. Annie Sounds like Indiana weather is like Arkansas weather. When I was younger we had more snow. I'm glad I don't have to be out in it. Slept late this morning. I want to do some more decluttering today. And I think I'll start one of my puzzles. I think the power was off for a bit last night. The alarm for the camera dvr woke me up this morning. Have a good day and stay warm. diyana 01-30-2010, 12:45 PM Happy Saturday ladies - Ow, Ow, Ow. I am tired and sore (a good sore so far) after an intense, fast-paced hour long Zumba class (twice as long as the class I usually do) followed by 1/2 hour of strength training. I've never done the long, faster paced classes before...but I wanted to see if I could. Well, I was able to keep up about 75% of the time. The steps were faster and a little more difficult. This is probably what "real" Zumba is like. Anyway, it was really fun. I'm sore now though. I hope I can keep my eating good today...usually when I work out this much, I'm hungrier all day long. I've got lots of website work to do this weekend, so I'm glad I got my exercising out of the way early, and I hope my body doesn't stiffen up too much. Laura - Good for you on wearing your pedometer, walking so many steps and going to yoga/pilates class even without bf. That SUCKS that they're eliminating that class when it's so popular, even with the guys. I hope you have a nice time entertaining tonight. I totally understand about stuff that cuts into your me time. We work so hard during the week that sometimes it's nice to have time on the weekends to do what we want or need to do for ourselves. Shad - Yay! You got your internet connection at a MUCH better price! Hope you had a nice dinner with D. Mel - It's cold here too. It was 8 when I drove to the gym. It feels a little warmer now...maybe in the teens. So nice that you have some eye candy for the weekend!! ;) Happy, Patty, Ceejay and everyone - Hope you're having a fantastic weekend! I've got to get back to website work. Love and big hugs, happy2bme 01-30-2010, 12:46 PM Good morning chickees, It is an icy picture here. We did not get much snow but we got alot of rain and freezing rain. All the trees are coated in ice. Both cars are in the driveway and the tree branches are encasing my car - have dipped down 20 feet to touch bottom. We could hear tree branches snapping last night but thankfully, none in our yard. I'm thinking this will destroy the azalea buds this spring. We also have lighter weight bushes that were bent over from the rain and ice and are frozen to the ground. I hope we don't lose shrubbery but I'm more afraid of trees falling on the houses. Last night we had numerous brown outs as the power dipped but we never lost power completely. Turned off as many electronics as we could to avoid the nasty power surges. It's supposed to stay well below freezing today with a low of single digits tonight - that's not good for already ice encrusted pipes. And it will only get above freezing just slightly for a few hours on Sunday so we may have to deal with this mess for several days. The only good thing is that the asphalt on the roads holds heat so the roads themselves don't look too bad from inside my front window. Will see tomorrow when we try to head out for groceries. That makes today a hunker down and stay in the house day. Looks pretty darn cold up your way too Mel. Stay warm. Put the gone fishing sign on the front door, toss in a good movie and get snuggly under a warm blanket for the weekend. :D I saw a few recipes Aussie recipes that looked interesting but even if I got Shad to explain, several had ingredients that I know for sure I'd never get down here. As far as food sampling, I can understand that there are some people with minimal pay jobs that are barely making it, particularly if they depend on overtime or hours that get cut. If those people get creative to make ends meet and say go to the warehouse clubs on the weekends when there are samples in every aisle and make a "meal" out of them, good for them. But there are alot of young kids with the bling bling and Iphones and all the trappings of money who have a nasty attitude of "why pay for it when I can steal it - and I don't consider it stealing". Gimme gimme. Was talking to my Mom last night - said she did me a big favor by boxing my ears if I got out of line and thank heavens we didn't have the money for her to give me everything. I am a better person for it. And that's how I feel :snooty: Shad - good to hear you found an Internet deal. Will be glad to have you back on a regular basis. They showed a shot of Beale street yesterday - pretty empty as you can imagine but they had interviewed a girl who came here to visit from Australia and she said ice or not, she was only here for 2 days and by gosh she was going to get out and see the sights  she had a warm coat and cap and I couldn't help but wonder if I was freezing, how did she feel! Laura - too bad they cancelled that class it sounded like it was good and if they had enough participants, why cancel? I also understand how you feel about "me time" on the weekends. We work all week, don't really get a chance to relax and then at least half the weekend is spent doing chores. I try to spend one day on me and the other day on obligations so there's at least some balance. Trouble is usually Sunday is the me day and that's also the day that people most often want to visit or get together. Have fun with your friends tonight. Michelle - how cool that you got to meet former president Carter. I always thought he was a very down to earth guy. He sure did age alot from the time he entered office to the time he left. He does an incredible amount of humanitarian things with his wife. Also rather opinionated now too which surprised me. Ceejay - did you get snow and ice or just snow? Hopefully you can stay in and just admire it from inside the house. Annie - I'm sure you are off to see Momma this weekend and spend your last few days with DS. Enjoy your weekend. Are you still working as many hours at CVS or have you cut back? Time to get off the computer and get busy here. Have a good weekend ladies what ever is planned for you. diyana 01-30-2010, 12:48 PM Ceejay - You snuck in! 4.5" of snow? That's a lot for you folks down there, isn't it? Snow is pretty and I don't mind it too much if there's not much shoveling and the roads/walkways aren't trecherous. Have a nice relaxing day and stay warm. :) diyana 01-30-2010, 12:55 PM Happy - You snuck in too! I really hate freezing rain and ice. The tree branches dipped down 20'?! :yikes: Glad you didn't lose power. I hope you don't sustain any damage from the ice/cold. Be careful when you're out and about driving tomorrow. It's a good weekend to stay indoors and warm. happy2bme 01-30-2010, 05:14 PM Ok so hard to believe that Monday is February already. Considering that I have not really committed to plan (tho not really falling off the wagon per se) for the last 2 months, for just me, I need a thread title where I can do the OPPOSITE like Fat Fanny Feeding Her Face in February. Oh wait, fanny is a nasty in Shad-land if I remember. :o ceejay52 01-30-2010, 06:05 PM Happy We got snow this time around 4.5 inches of the beautiful white stuff. I'm so glad I don't have to be out in it. Annie had a good mantra in a post awhile back. Shad 01-30-2010, 06:09 PM Morning all, Fat fanny? Well I guess that we have several of those among us, but Happy is right, it is also part of a womans anatomy. Perhaps we need something like Frenzied feeding of faces is forbidden in February. Fruit bread - well it has several different definitions. Normally fruit bread is made with white flour and includes dried fruits such as raisins, sultanas, currants and dried peel (rather like a Hot Cross Easter bun), but there are variations such as Aegean Apricot loaf, which is similar to the above but more fruit and therefore more expensive. There's plenty of different varieties in recipe books that you can make. My mother used to make one that was SOMETHING ELSE when sliced and spread with good ole NZ butter. That was before butter became a dirty word and they substituted it with oils that were traumatised and blended and whipped and had additives to preserve the colour and spreadability. Give me butter anytime. Okay :soap: over. If you find some recipes from Aus or NZ that have weird names of ingredients just ask. Usually they either have another name or can be substituted for something else. I guess the snow looks very pretty but it is dangerous. I shouldn't get excited about that Ocker in Beale Street, Happy. There are places in Aus that get snow in the winter and here in Melbourne it may not snow, but it gets close. It all depends on where she comes from in Aus. If it is anywhere north of Sydney or Perth then she doesn't know what she has let herself in for unless she has travelled extensively and most ockers have these days, but anywhere south of and including those two cities, she has a fair idea of cold. Believe it or not, it can get below zero in the deserts at night - it just doesn't snow there. Work has been very busy lately. I've run up a few miles on the pedometer (if I had one). We have been trying to instil some rules in the store, but it becomes very hard if the rules aren't adhered to by those at the top. Sheez I can understand if the paperwork is not done when an emergency breakdown occurs, but that doesn't mean you can just remove stuff from the store and not write it down so the store knows it is gone - particularly if you remove the last two items on the shelf. This week will be spent trying to label some of the electrical equipment and give it a number in the catalogue in SAP. My mind is still reeling from trying to distinguish the Front In Actuator from the Front Out Actuator and the Back In Actuator. Believe it or not there is a minute difference in the shape of the hook things at the top of the plastic gadget! The sooner that lot are labelled the better for my brain. It's detective work all the way in this job. My wee Irish bloke is a details man and the questions are coming fast and furious and I need to try to explain what and why, when there really isn't a why....... sometimes it is a 'just because'. Today, I think I will get in the car and just go somewhere in the hills for the afternoon. The Biggest Loser Couples, Aus style starts tonight as well as the men's final of the Australian Open Tennis. I watched the women's final last night and was hoping that Justine Henin would win but she got overpowered by Serena Williams in the last set. You can't always expect miracles I guess. Henin has been out of the circuit for two years and in her two tournaments since her comeback, she has been runner up twice. It's only a matter of time I guess. Tonight's final is Roger Federer or the Fed-Express as they call him. I expect a fairly fast tough short final, but I can be wrong (often). The Flying Scotsman may take him for a longer ride. I just can't see the result being any different. This internet connection is already much better than the last one. However I was less than impressed by the service at the kiosk. I had decided to go for the month by month without plan option, but they needed to do a credit check on me! For a $129 modem and $15 per month??? And even worse they didn't discuss the terms and conditions with me before they ticked the boxes. I think I came across as a GRUMPY OLD WOMAN because I tore strips of the bloke for not disclosing this information. Then I insisted on taking the paperwork (copies of my drivers licence, credit card and medicare card) with me rather than screwing them up and putting them in the bin. :yikes: have none of these people thought about identification fraud. He left my cards on the scanner for far too long as well, so I insisted he show me the computers scanned items in case he had scanned them into the computer as well. I don't know how impressed he was, but he knows exactly how impressed I am! :frypan: :rollpin: I will at some time send a letter to the company, telling them to up their training and retraining principles, and I may point out to them the need to protect their customers as well - lest they get some legal suites pointing out the error of their ways. Now I know I am getting to be eccentric in my age. I hope I don't make 90. The world will never forgive me. Okay - better go get dressed and have breakfast or the day will slip away from me and nothing will get done. See ya ceejay52 01-30-2010, 06:39 PM Happy I had to go back and find this one from Annie but she thought of the Famous wordlie females flinging their fat fannies far from February. diyana 01-31-2010, 09:01 AM Happy Sunday ladies - I'm a little sore today, but not too bad. And I wish I could've slept in...but lots of website work to catch up on. One of my clients is depending on me for all her Internet Marketing needs, and she keeps joining more networking organizations that I have to keep updated! Oh well, more billable time for me. This afternoon will be Wii Fit, laundry, and maybe a brief nap. :) Happy - I had a couple months where I wasn't seriously following any plan, and for me, the scale wasn't my friend during that time. All you wonderful ladies gave me the hand back up on the wagon and superglued me to it. So hang on to me, girlfriend, and you won't fall off. You do so good with meal planning and groceries and cooking healthy! Is your challenge right now snacking or portion control or the wrong foods? I do like Annie's suggestion for February's thread "Fabulous Worldlie Females Flinging our Fat Fanny's Far From February", but since Fanny doesn't mean the same thing around the globe, maybe we should just have it be: "Fabulous Worldlie Females Flinging our Fat Far From February" Ceejay - Glad you're enjoying the pretty snow. We're supposed to get a little on Monday night or Tuesday morning, but hopefully not more than a couple inches. Shad - Sounds like your work is quite a challenge, especially when the head honchos aren't following the rules! Was the guy at the internet kiosk an idiot, young and stupid or just lazy??! Sheesh!! I think a letter to the company is DEFINITELY in order. A big  and a  to everyone!! Michelle Don't over load yourself today on the websight duties. Take some time for yourself. ceejay52 01-31-2010, 09:55 AM Hey Mel You snuck in on me. Whick book are you talking about? I also like Dr Oz. diyana 01-31-2010, 10:03 AM Ceejay - You stay inside and warm today. No driving at least not until the ice melts. Happy - I hope the roads aren't icy where you are. Drive carefully if you run any errands. Mel - It is a cold one here today too. I went out to get the paper and had a hat, gloves and warm coat on, and I'm still cold. I might have to fix me some cocoa for later. Stay inside and warm. So nice of the library to offer to order the book for you. I like the "No frenzied feeding of faces..." too. happy2bme 01-31-2010, 12:50 PM This is a picture from my driveway. The lowest tree branches generally hang above the garage roof. As the freezing rain progressed throughout the day, the branches started to hang lower and lower until they eventually engulfed the car and touched ground. Looking at it, it sort of looks like the branches are in front of and away from the car, but they are actually surrounding the car. I would have to break branches to get in either door. We have a sunshiny day today and things are starting to melt but it's still below freezing here, I doubt things will melt enough to get free. I had wanted to go grocery shopping today as we are running low on things but DH said he'd rather stay in today and pick things up during the week. Temps will warm up and this should all be gone by mid week. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e62/deemarie27/IceOnCarCloseUp.jpg MELODY525 01-31-2010, 01:28 PM http://www.csiro.au/science/TWD.html CEEJAY....ABOVE IS THE LINK ABOUT THE AUSTRALIAN DIET PLAN THAT SHAD SPOKE OF RECENTLY AND ALSO MANY YEARS AGO ON THE JOURNALS. MELODY525 01-31-2010, 01:37 PM  HELLO MICHELLE & HAPPY! MICHELLE....SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE I'M HAVINGA FEEDING FRENZY!!!! :hun: HAPPY...OMG!! YOU'RE HAVING AN ICE OUT IN YOUR DRIVEWAY!!! THE TREES WILL ATTACH THEMSELVES TO YOUR CAR LIKE IN THE SCI-FI MOVIES!! WATCH OUT FOR FALLIN ICICLES ON YOUR HEAD! :yikes: happy2bme 01-31-2010, 02:17 PM Thread suggestion for tomorrow - IT'S FRASSIN' FREEZIN' IN FEBRUARY (for most of us ;) ) happy2bme 01-31-2010, 03:00 PM Mel, you're right - it kinda does look like the trees are trying to eat my car - like a sci-fi movie. It's still very cold and deceptively dangerous out there - like Ceejay said - things are very slippery - particularly in the shade where they aren't melting. It's also raining ice. The sun is melting the frozen tree branches way up top and loosening them up, then when the wind blows, they break apart as icicles and rain down below. I have to go digging for some unusual soup recipes. I am out of meat but have plenty of canned goods. DH used up the last of the eggs for breakfast today. I'm sure I could make some mean salsa. Speaking of which, I made a nice mango salsa to go with fish last weekend. Chopped up a fresh mango (now that I actually know how to cut one up and most importantly WHEN to tell that it's ripe  ), mixed with some diced red onion, diced red bell pepper (or diced jalapeno if you are a hot spicy chick like Annie), a pinch of salt, and a couple of squeezes of lime juice. We had it with baked flounder. Since DH likes his food a bit spicy, I added a tiny bit of Thai Chili Pepper paste to his. The sweetness of the mango plays nice with the spices. It really enhanced what was an otherwise blandish fish (baked with salt, pepper, paprika, lemon and some melted butter). Mel - let us know what you think of the diet book. After the Sonoma Diet which I read but didn't really follow - I have sworn off the diet books. I think it comes down to what Michelle was saying - you have to eat the right foods (and most of us know which ones those are) in reasonable quantities, WRITE IT when we bite it - as journalling not only makes us aware of how much we eat but often stops us from absent minded eating and get some exercise into the day. Now I will admit, one of my co-workers got to goal with the WW plan. She had a bit of stubborn chub around her midrift and so she tried a diet plan from her Turbo Jam CDs. It's slightly different food and NO PROCESSED food whatsoever and she lost 4 more pounds after maintaining her WW goal. So I guess sometimes it's good to mix up the food plan. Wish I could go shopping at Trader Joe's with you this week. I'll bring the money honey and we'll have a gay old time  Grrr on the silly boy at the Internet store Shad. They just don't think when it comes to protecting customer's information. I have seen the best customer service in shops where there is a person of our age and sensibility giving some training and guidance to the workers. Very often keeps them whipped into shape too. I know it can get mighty cold in the desert areas at night but did not think you got snow and cold where you are. NZ being more south and close to Antartica, sure but Oz? Hmmm learn something new each day. Did you do anything fun this weekend? Ceejay - thanks for looking up the mantra. Hope you can stay inside today until it warms up a bit. Michelle - a Sunday nap - oohhh what luxury! No football this weekend, good thing you have web work to keep you busy :D Did you ever get your own website revamped? I heard that blogs were replacing personal websites but I still rely on websites for businesses and to get much needed info so thank goodness for people like you! Well I have p*issed a good part of the day away in front of the computer and talking to DH. Need to go figure out what kind of meal I can make out of things in the refrigerator and freezer. Made some homemade chocolate chip cookies yesterday - not as good as I remember them. Anyway - have a good rest of your day to the friendly faces of the worldlies. MELODY525 01-31-2010, 03:13 PM http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/support-groups/192819-frenzied-feeding-faces-forbidden-february.html#post3127593 DON'T POST HERE ANYMORE.
