I'm not the poster child for self-esteem; my lowest point was pulling out a filleting knife and threatening to slit my wrists when I was a teenager (looking back, I don't think I realised that I wouldn't get that deep with a knife that bends).

Even so, thanks to a wonderful DH, it's managed to climb back up to where I can accept a compliment with a simple "thank you" instead of wondering who paid them to say said compliment. :thanks:

So, today, I was working out at the gym. Go me. Aside from Week 5, Day 2 of the Couch to 5K program (2x8 minute runs with a 5 minute in between :tread:- notice how I'm sneaking in all these little victories? :D), I hopped on the bike. :ebike:

And I realised about half-way through a very nasty hill, "Holy sh!t, I've got nice calves. I mean, I can see those cool lines in the side when I flex my ankles downwards and I've even got one at the top."

:carrot: :cb: :broc:

A very nice thought indeed. I've got nice legs for the first time in many many... well, for the first time ever. :woohoo:

YAY - good for you and your nice legs!

Keep on sneaking in all those little victories - you will sneak right up on your goal! Another victory is how you've changed your inner voice - you now can not only accept compliments but give them to yourself as well - you should since you're working hard and have earned and deserve to be pleased and proud!:woohoo:

Keep up the good work - we'll all be here to cheer you on! :bravo:

All the best from a fellow WhoDat,
Lee

P.S. Only someone from Loosiana would think of using a fillet knife - we're the only ones that use it all the time!

I do agree that mini goals are very important. I started out just woking on 5 lbs at a time and have lost 80 lbs now. So those mini goals help you reach the end goal. Good Luck to eveyone out there working on those mini goal to reach that big one. Lets keep going and we will get there.:)
