Hello -waves.- My name is Gina, and I'm currently living in Massachusetts. I'm 22 years old, and pretty much at my heaviest.

Well, my heaviest was 311. I'm a couple of pounds under that right now, but it hurts more because I was down to about 247 - 249. I moved to Ohio the beginning of '08, and I gained back all of the weight I had lost just before I went out there. I just moved back home 12/01/09. I'm ready to lose the weight AGAIN.. and then some. Honestly, what helped my weightloss was learning I had PCOS. I also had insulin resistance at the time, and they put me on metformin for it. I'm currently being treated for anything, but I think it's pretty much under control.

I've been a member on this site for years now. I've been struggling with anxiety pretty much my whole life. I don't do too well with socializing, but I've gotten a lot better over the last two years. I actually have an easier time posting now So, hello. Nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you too! You can do this, Gina. I wish I had gotten control of my weight at your age! Don't wait. You've got so much living to do and it will be much easier, not to mention more fun, if you don't have the weight issue hanging over you. Good luck!!

Thanks! I was actually told that a few years ago when I was first trying to lose weight. That's another reason I would like to get rid of it now. I'd rather lose it now while I'm younger than in a few years. I've been overweight my entire life. I'd like to know what it's like on the otherside.. soon.

So many of us here know how you feel - we've lost only to gain it back (& more) - how smart to commit to a healthier you now at your age - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired d! There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help choose the right ones for you and get through the ups and downs. The forums on PCOS and insulin problems might be of interest as well as the 20 somethings.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!
