I was 185 and am now 170 with a goal of 125. I gained all this weight during and after my pregnancy. My daughter has brain damage due to Negligence and I was seriously depressed dealing with the reality of having a child with such problems. I gained 10 more pounds after she was born than when I was pregnant with her! Things are slightly better although our days are hectic and emotional.
I have been exercising and watching what I eat. I started off exercising everyday and am continuing to do so, but so many people I know have told me its bad for me and my body needs a break. I was wondering what anyone has to say about that.
Thanks
Sun
Sorry about your stresses. But if anything exercise helps you manage stress.
You haven't given many specifics about your case, how long post-partum, what type of delivery, are you breast-feeding, pumping? Things like that can all determine how strenuous you should exercise.
What type of exercise are you currently doing?
I can't think of a reason why a person should "give their body a break". The body is the only machine that breaks down if it isn't used. We need to use them.
My daughter is now 1 year old. I am not breastfeeding. I am doing body weight exercises such as V-ups, bridges, squats, and jumping exercises. I like to walk briskly too. I didn't think I needed to break because like you say I love the feeling of tightness after you exercise. Thanks for your reply Its nice to just hear what you already think
