yesterday...

protein shake

deviled egg

3 roll ups with mexican turkey, paper thin american cheese, lettuce

a handful of soybeans
1 oz beef jerky

and then i stopped at the chinese takeout and got a pint of stir fried chicken with green beans. i picked out all the chicken, and had that, with about 10 beans, and a tablespoon of rice.

and felt full. but i woke up this morning VERY VERY VERY Hungry, so i started out today with:

and then went downstairs and put the last load of laundry in, and then fed the cats, and cleaned out litter boxes and drank 20 oz of SF lemonade before having...

oh. and for everyone. this must be COOKIE DAY!!!! i had three vanilla wafers!!! and washed them down with iced tea, so maybe they didn't really count???

Uh...this just isn't my day with this board. I posted a reply with my menu a little while ago and it didn't make it. Maybe I am just losing my mind and I posted it on another thread! Here it is again...

...and Jiff, you can come here anytime too! But those peas were soggy, so you didn't miss much! About those green beans, do you have a recipe to do them yourself? I think I posted one on the message board. I will look for it. I make them at home and then I don't get tempted by that rice. You are strong!!! 1 tablespoon of rice would drive me nuts.

B scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon

L chicken salad-salad with ranch dressing
SF Eskimo bar

S nuts

D Garlic pork roast with leftover mushrooms, onions and peas from last night.

Yayyyyyyyyyyy! No sugar!!!

MamaJ, a tamale would be sooooo good. I'll just dream about how they taste! I've loved them since I was little. I couldn't say tamale, so I called them chickamales. I didn't even realize the pun until I typed this.

I stayed on plan today:

L chicken-salad-salad (getting old btw!) with blue cheese

D leftover pork roast, broccoli and cheese, tomatoes and cukes from Mom's garden. Oh, cuke from Wal-Mart's garden, maters from Mom!

SG, how do you like those tortillas? I have been wanting to try them, but didn't know if it was worth it or not. Are they soy?

Todays menu:

B bacon and eggs, and a small biscuit. :(

L ham and roast beef rollups

S SF vanilla pudding with cream cheese

D chicken parmesan, greenbean casserole-stuff, caesar salad

S ice cream :( I messed up twice in one day! I've craved ice cream for so long, it was good to finally get it out of my system.

SonoGranny

Jennifer...... stop beating yourself up! I have found that when I am totally craving something, the longer I put it off and try to do without........ the worse I am, the more cr*p I eat in an effort to "replace" what it is I really want! Years ago I had a WW leader who said that rather than try to ignore the craving, we end up eating everything else in sight (and boy! was she ever right about me!!! :o ) soooooooo... why not just have a "reasonable" portion of whatever it is. That way, the craving is satisfied and we can just move on! Honestly, Jennifer, that is why I got the ice cream machine! Now, if I could only figure out a way to make "Utz of Hanover" sourdough pretzel nuggets LOW CARB!!!!! :dizzy:

As far as the LaTortillas...... they are not, and never will be, "white bread" tortillas..... but they definitely DO satisfy the urge for having a "real" sandwich wrap! I THINK they are made from soy...... I'll have to check the packaging. If you buy the big package (I think it was $18.99 from the Atkins store) there are 6 pak inside ... each one has 10 tortillas...... 3 flavors.. 2 of each: green onion, garlic&herb, and whole wheat...... and actually, some of the paks have an extra in them! My secret: when I got them, I opened each pak and put waxed paper between the slices. Then I repacked them (they come in individual zip-lock bags inside a larger plastic wrapper) and then put them into a ziplock freezer bag. This way, I can just take out 1 or 2 at a time, and they will keep in the freezer for a couple of months.

Thanks SG, I feel better that I have the ice cream moster fed. I have to get an ice cream maker! Did you say you had a Cuisinart? I need to make my own, just so little time! I need to ask for another fridge for my birthday. I gave my old spare to my brother because they needed a second one and I didn't have anywhere to store it, and now I have a basement and no spare fridge! I don't know HOW we wind up with so much dang food in our fridge. You can hardly see what is in there, but I still have to run to the store every other day to buy something to make dinner with! Anyway, I need some freezer space for sure so I can buy those tortillas. Thanks for the wax paper tip. This will be a nice change to sandwich meat rollups.

YUP - Jennifer, I returned the Krups and re-bought the Cuisinart. There must have been something wrong with the first one, 'cause this one works much better.....

Anyhow... yesterday's menu:
(not the best, nowhere near enought veggies! :( ....

b: eggs, lox & onion omelet (aaaah, a different omelet!! ;) )

l: aprx 6-7 oz turkey breast (sliced right off the carcass and eaten standing up -- does that count? )

sn: 1 oz cheese

s: beef medallion in marsala sauce (only ate what was ON the beef) and brocolli rabe done in garlic/oil

sn: ice cream!

I learned something from yesterday, tho. It was the FIRST time (since I've been doing Atkins) that we have gone to an Italian restaurant....... I CAN DO THIS!!! I don't want to do it often, because pasta was always my biggest trigger, and I believe that Italian restaurants are MEANT to serve pasta! BUT I DID IT!!!!!

here's the plan:

b-1/2 cup cantelope chunks

b-egg salad

d-(family bbq) probably a patio drink first

then grilled chicken, salad, deviled eggs, maybe some corn on the cob, just a half ear. EXTRA BUTTER. Yum.

death by chocolate cake. I usually can deal with just a bite or two. To be sociable. You know.

can't keep track of all the food i've been eating and all the running around, too..

one or the other...

all i know for sure is that i haven't hit my 80 gram protein minimum, and it's not gonna happen, unless i ahve a protein shake AND I DON'T WANT IT!!!!!

but i did have fun!!! and about 85 oz water!!!!

protein shake

most of a scrambled egg with some jalapeno cheese

3 thin slices muenster cheese
2 slices veal loaf [kind of a cold cut thing; a local german butcher makes it]

tiny square beef jerky

chicken stuffed with fontina. about 2-3 oz total, salad, carrots, a crust of bread, 1/2 pat butter, 4 bites chocolate mousse cake.

[hey, you want me to be HONEST??? or a paragon of virtue???]

and i'm planning to have an ounce of cheese and a couple of small fresh figs before bed.

and about the green beans, jennifer.. i used to blister them in a frying pan with some oil, pat them dry, and then dress them with soy sauce, a pinch of sweetener, and a sliced clove of garlic... really good.
