South Beach Diet - New Beacher Feral Checking In!
12-16-2009, 08:48 AM
Good Morning ladies!
I wanted to hop in and introduce myself. I've been posting on 3FC (mostly in 20-somethings) on and off for a while now. I was previously doing WW but have switched to SB at the suggestion of my therapist...mostly to curb my binge eating. Today is day 2.
I live in NC and work full time as a middle school guidance assistant and go to school part time for nursing (technically I'm pre-nursing) as I am fulfilling my pre-reqs to get into nursing school.
Have a GREAT day everyone!

Welcome Feral, it's nice to meet you. :)
12-16-2009, 10:42 AM
:welcome: to The Beach, Feral.
I split your post into a separate thread so folks who don't check out the daily will know that there is yet more competition for the cabana boys!

Feral :welcome: to the Beach, Ruth you are so funny more competition for the cabana boys. LOL
12-16-2009, 02:11 PM
:welcome3: Feral! I have a lot of problems with binge eating myself, and this plan has helped me immensely! Hope it helps you too! :D

Hi Feral, what's up? I live in NC too; eastern NC. I love your tatts!
12-16-2009, 02:20 PM
Thanks for moving my post Ruth! LOL More competition....You're already cracking me up!
Thanks again for the warm welcomes! I think I'm gonna like it here on this beach!
Melanie - if you don't mind me asking what part of NC? I'm just outside of Raleigh (not TOO far east, but more east than some).
Beachgal - that makes me feel better! I usually have a sweet tooth at night and was really surprised I didn't even want my fudgesicle last night!

Welcome welcome! We're so glad to have you here!

Feral, I don't mind! I live in a small rural county which has been steadily developing the past few years, Pamlico County. It's right by Craven County (Havelock, New Bern, the birthplace of Pepsi, lol, etc). We people in this county have to drive to New Bern just to go to a Walmart! One of my besties lives in Raleigh, a lot of people I know went to college somewhere around there.

:welcome: to The Beach, Feral! All the best cabana boys are presently taken, but we can always find you a new one to train. :D

Welcome Feral. Former WW and nurse here. Love SB and I'm maintaining a whole lot easier on this plan. Good luck with nursing school and South Beach!

Again, thank you for the warm welcome!!!!
Melanie - you live near the beach... I'm jealous! I really am a beach bum (no pun intended).
Cottage - I'll just look at your cabana boys. I don't know if I'm up for training one. Eye candy is great... but sometimes the work isn't worth all of that! LOL
MurphMitch - that gives me hope!!!!!!! :)

We live about an hour away from the big atlantic beach but in our county there's Oriental, the one and only tourist attraction and it has a very small beach where I used to party at when I was younger. When we were kids we used to swim there all the time.
Wait, there's cabana boys? I want one! Hahaha. :p

We used to go through Oriental on our way down to Camp Seafare to pick up my BFF growing up to go to Figure 8. We were invited by her family .... so I know where you're talking about!!!!
I'm about 1.5-2 hours from Wilmington depending on who is driving.

Camp Seafare rocks! Small world isn't it! Kate Jackson, one of the former Charlie's Angels, comes to Oriental every summer too. Met her several times working at the local grocery store... Town & Country? It used to be IGA when I was younger. It was insane when I was reading my mom's star magazine several months ago and they were doing a not-so-nice article about Kate Jackson following the death of Farrah Fawcett and Kate had a Oriental t-shirt on. It was cool! Oriental rocks!
How are you doing on phase 1 so far?

Hi Feral!!! Good to see you here.
I also frequent the 20-somethings forum, but i've been a fan of the "Beach Lifestyle" for a long time. I'm glad you're giving it a shot Feral! The first few days are tough, but once you're over that initial hump, it's relatively painless. I recommend you read the book if you haven't already. That was the key for me. Once I understood WHY, everything clicked, and now I hardly even WANT to eat anything but healthy stuff!

Oh Jess! Glad to see another one of my girls in here. I didn't know you were doing SBD. SWEET!! :)
Melanie -- I'm feeling really good. I've resisted temptation at work... which has included all of the candy/baked goods you can imagine (I work at a middle school -- teachers LOVE food). I weighed in on Sunday at 206.5 and weighed this morning at 203.5. It's not my official day and I'm not supposed to weigh more than once a week, but it was good to see the scale moving already!!!! I am SO IN LOVE with the fudgesicle/PB desert. OMG! :)
12-18-2009, 02:03 PM
OMG i love sugar free fudgsicles. hahaha. If it weren't for this little gem... well I don't want to think about what would happen! I usually eat one every day after dinner... only 40 calories!! Sometimes I even have two... totally guilt-free :D
